Semyon "Simon" Brezhnev remains the best person in all of Durarara.

Everyone's out here causing havoc, there's gang wars, a mysterious sword, missing heads, numerous amounts of property damage, Izaya being Izaya.

And Simon is just here, running his restaurant.

He's one of the strongest people in Ikebukuro and definitely knows more than he let's on.

And here he is, stopping fights and inviting people to have sushi.

He knows danger and death and wants to just live peacefully. In the storm of Ikebukuro, Simon is it's calm.

Masaomi has split himself into 3- countryside Masaomi, Yellow Scarves Masaomi and Saki's Masaomi. Somehow, he didn't realize there's absolutely no difference between them all but all the same, without Saki, he'd be even more lost and hopeless.

Damn, there's some stuff to unpack here. First off; Saki is very picky about who she interacts with, but she's a real charter box with Izaya apparently. That leads me to believe the two are actually legitimately close, as friends of sorts. Considering Saki is said to have no relatives at all, maybe he even un-officially adopted her? Sadly we don't see much of them actually interacting but their relationship does remind me of siblings; the kind where the older takes care of the younger that is.

Also Izaya is described as looking like a clubs host, which sounds like a fun AU for the fanfic writers to explore.

And finally the rather creepy bit... Masaomi seriously got game. Damn. It's been about a year since the dollars meeting so I think he's 17 or almost 17 but- it sounds like he actually has a physical relationship with this doctor, and for a while. Well. Ok then.

I thought it was nice to get a little insight on how Kadota and Togusa really get along with their pet Otaku's... The answer is actually Not that great, haha!

I find it interesting to know that Kyohei actually is an avid reader. I guess he too enjoys the escapism... He just doesn't take it too far, unlike the other two.

Posting this mainly for that interior description of Russia Sushi. It's horrible! But weirdly charming at the same time... Kinda like Simon haha! Looks like nobody is above using Simon as a fighting-deterant either.

Shizuo, Tom and Simon.

The dating service the dept collector pair works for is phone based. Also they work a night shift, so Shizuo probably isn't an early bird.

Also Tom's sense of humor, delivered just careful enough not to set Shizuo off, though it seems to sour his mood slightly.

What the heck is happening here? Is Simon starting this fight intentionally or is he just that bad at dealing with Shizuo?! Not that Shizuo doesn't carry any responsibility though, I mean, my dude, you're literally blaming your big Russian friend for dodging your (potentially killing) punches and therefore getting a mailbox destroyed. And we call Izaya immature.....

the funniest thing about my durarara!! phase rearing its head again is the realization that simon and denis were gay the whole time and i just. didn’t notice.

seriously, what’s up with this anime trope of two older dudes with Weird Dad Vibes who have a shared and somewhat violent past running a store together, understanding each other in ways no one else does, and somehow the fans still not noticing?

I love how Shizaya keeps lingering on the outskirts of canon.

How would vorona react if she fought an American spy and they were equally matched. And if it's ok how do you think shizuo, tom, and Simon would react to seeing them fight?

Vorona’s main focus would be to calculate her own moves and that of her opponent. She would be surprised though, I can picture her being quite impressed at her enemy’s skills. That fight would probably be a delight to the girl, since she loves a good challenge and is determined to win no matter what. I think it would be a very long fight and that she would not back down. Maybe she rationally knows that it would be smarter to do so, but she ends up trying her best to compete.

Shizuo would probably watch the scenery very impressed himself. I don’t think he would step in, unless he sees it’s absolutely necessary and that either of them will end up getting hurt seriously, if that makes any sense. Mostly though, he understands that this seems to be a thing between Vorona and the spy.

Tom would be hesitant as to what to do. He knows that he doesn’t have the strength to do anything about it and so stepping in between them wouldn’t end up good for him. He can’t keep his eyes away though, but remains at a safe distance.

Simon would intervene. He wouldn’t watch them fight endlessly for more than a few minutes. He tries to make them realize that there is no point, since they’re just equally strong and neither is going to give up, so they both have to stop. We know how scary he can be, so depending on whether they listen or not, he might have to knock them out for their own good.
