Why do you think Taylor keeps doing NYC pap walks both with and without Travis? I don’t understand why she has the paparazzi take her pic going to dinner like once a week
My ongoing theory is that she is slow-walking the travlor relationship as much as she thinks she can. While the tabloids and certain fans salivate over how she lives in suburban KC (a place the average American can relate to) and they are basically already married and she makes Buffalo chicken dip for all the husbands on Saturdays while they watch college football, and is about to pop out 3 kids before her ovaries dry up (gross but that’s how a large section of her customers view things), she can instead show that it’s not quite happening yet, so stay tuned. When I say “stay tuned” what I mean is she wants everyone to keep being interested and paying attention, awaiting this next chapter of her life, and her achieving every woman’s ultimate dream of settling down becoming a wife and mother.
But if she just quietly settles in KC (or in reality, appears to settle there,) then what’s there for people to look at? A pap can’t make a living in KC showing up as she goes out to dinner with the same boring people to Outback Steakhouse every Tuesday. The appeal will dry up very quickly. So this way she keeps up the glamorous life of going out in NY where the best paps in the world are a a phone call away. This way, when the travlor album comes out and all these average Americans who think it’s so great that she is living a life similar to them, they will all buy it, as well as all the long-time fans who buy everything she puts out no matter what. But assuming that album isn’t yet ready, and that album is not about settling down and getting married, and is instead about falling in love with someone who lets her bejeweled (or however she frames it) then that happy ending can’t happen too soon. So this is one way of slowing things down and keeping enough people in a reasonable state of mind still waiting for them to move to the next step, or at least show the damn ring they already believe exists. Ring watch is a big deal for those who care. Keeps the anticipation up and keeps it rolling over a long period of time.
It isn’t that different from what she did with Joe. Obviously she’s selling a different story now, she’s much more famous now, and she is a different place in her life now. But the game is similar. While she immediately moved to London and started writing you and me forevermore marriage vows type love songs, the reality of the situation was that they basically stayed frozen in this perpetual “they are about to get engaged” stage for years and years. She never even bought a house in London until after they broke up. For someone who has been known to buy a house at the drop of a hat, it was very off-brand. And therefore something one should think about with a “why?” She then turned around and used the lack of engagement/commitment for the breakup narrative. So as usual she gets 2 birds out of it.
How it will all play out in the end, I don’t know. But I believe this slow-walking to keep anticipation up without actually having to get engaged is how she rolls. I call it the lavender haze.

So southern USA is going to get a good chunk of snow and ice this week.
Say it with me, children: the south does not have the infrastructure to deal with snow.
It happens once maybe every ten years, if that often. We don’t have snow plows. We don’t have trucks that can throw salt on the road. No one has chains on their tires. I don’t think they even sell them in stores here.
We genuinely do not have the infrastructure necessary to deal with it the way, idk, Buffalo NY might.
When it snows in the south, we also tend to get an enormous amount of black ice. Snow will start to melt the second it hits, then freeze into thick ice thanks to the cold air.
Last time this happened was Snowpocalypse 2014. My family was stuck in our house for a week because there was so much ice on our driveway we couldn’t get the car out.
People wrecked due to the rapid accumulation of black ice on our high ways. People had to abandon their cars and walk miles to hotels/motels in the cold because, again, no chains, no traction. One woman ended up being forced to give birth on the highway because they physically could not get her to the hospital. My best friend’s mom spent 14 hours trying to get home (her commute was typically 1 hour) before having to call us to come get her out of a ditch because her truck slid off the road.
13 people died as a result of Snowpocalypse.
It’s a freak weather event for us that we do not have the resources to deal with. Most of us will be fine— but please take a moment and think before you open your mouth to make a joke about dumb southerners “freaking out” over “a little snow.”

Help Us in Buffalo NY
I'm a 61 year old widow with pets. After my husband's death we lost the house. I'm a retired vet tech that just wants something of my own. I'm buying an RV and want to rent your vacant lot- has to have electric and water access. My dog is small. I'm quiet, please someone, renting with pets has become impossible. My landlady died and they are selling and I have to move. I want a place I can call my own. I have someone to winterize it and just need a place to park it.

Posted by Buffalo Latino Village Buffalo, NY:
THE STORY OF LA MUJER, THE MATRIRCH AND THE MUSE
“Within my darkest moments, the entry of my words gave me light.” -- Jenning C. Medina
On Saturday, March 16th, Los Artistas del Barrio celebrated the month of the Women by hosting the author of “The Story of La Mujer: The Matriarch & the Muse”, by Jenning C. Medina.
Th event was planned by Michele Agosto, Jenning Medina, and Gliset C. Morales, and sponsored by the Martin House.
The Book-signing event was held at the Martin House, from 3-6 pm -- an event where art and words mixed together creating los artistas del Barrio, generated by the writer’s presentation where she takers one on a dark journey, a personal encounter, struggle and sacrifice, perseverance, and at the end, finding the understanding standing by the light.
Before the author’s reading and book-signing, people were treated to an art exhibit featuring local Latina artists, which included several vendors displaying and selling their individual creation and artwork – pottery, artifacts, paintings, and books, as well as a table hosted by the Hispanic Women’s League of Buffalo, a prominent Latina organization, sharing information about their programs and recruiting for new members.
“The Story of La Mujer”, is a book that all mothers should share, or read together with their daughters and sons. It is a book that high school students should read, an open discussion, looking to find all the meanings to use as a guide in our personal development in life, saying goodbye to the “Ay bendito”, and strong enough to stay away from saying hello again.
As I enjoyed the artwork, and definitely enjoyed the author’s reading segments of her book, I noticed the obvious absence of Latino fathers, of Latino men at the event, a symbol of a reality in our communities. Reading this book, listening to the words dancing around my head, gave me a better understanding, a better appreciation for the role my mother played in the development of my personal journey.
I walked out of there with a better understanding. There was nothing political about this beautiful event; it was all about Art and Family.
This is a book written by an individual, to be read by individual mothers, individual daughters, individual sisters, individual fathers, individual sons, but it is a family book. All the individuals are responsible for the collective harmony of the emotional history. It takes a village

Note: Read April's issue of the Buffalo Latino Village for more information & photos.

North American Tour 2023 Part 2: Elder, REZN, and Lord Buffalo Live @ The Earl
Elder is a four-piece doom metal/progressive/stoner rock band that currently consists of Nick DiSalvo (vocals/guitar), Jack Donovan (bass), Mike Risberg (guitar/keyboards), and Georg Edert (drums). Elder has released six (6) LPs, three (3) singles/EPs, one (1) Live LP, and one (1) collaboration LP (with Kadavar). Elder’s latest release, Innate Passage, was heralded as a complex, progressive rock album full of DiSalvo’s hypnotic guitar riffs mixed with Risberg’s flawless synth work. One reviewer even went as far as to say that this body of work represents DiSalvo’s “best vocal performances
on an Elder release.” I’ve been a fan of Elder since randomly finding their music around 2012, and to hear their progression into the band that they are today is quite comforting. You might have recognized the band name Elder from last year’s review of Elder, Ruby the Hatchet, & Dreadnought: Live at The Earl (2022).
When Elder announced in June their North American 2023: Part 2 tour, I was excited to see that The Earl in Atlanta made this leg of the North American tour. For opening support on part 2 of their North American tour, Elder announced that REZN and Lord Buffalo will join them on the road. This would be my first time seeing either REZN or Lord Buffalo in concert, so I was very excited to see them in such an intimate setting as The Earl. Elder performing live at The Earl is a moment that I know I will reflect on and say that happened not once but twice for me. I would not be surprised if the next time Elder came to your city to play the venue might change to something larger. That is not a bad thing for the band as they can sell more tickets and, in the end, hopefully, more band merchandise.
REZN is a doom/psychedelic/stoner metal band from Chicago, Illinois that first formed as a band in 2016. REZN consists of Phil Cangelosi (vocals/bass), Rob McWilliams (vocals/guitar/sitar), Spencer Ouellette (modular synthesizers/saxophone), and Patrick Dunn (percussion/sitar). They have released four (4) LPs, two (2) Live LPs, three (3) singles, and three (3) collaborations with Solace being the latest release. I have been known to gravitate towards bands that are labeled psychedelic rock and/or metal but add the genre of doom and I am hooked. I’ve seen some press regarding REZN in the past but never pulled the trigger until now. Yes, you can tell me that I was missing out big time next time you see me at a show. I knew I was in for a treat when I ran into someone that I know from the Atlanta scene, and they told me that they were drawn to this show based on their love and devotion for REZN. I was not shocked about their comment as much as I was intrigued even more now about REZN and their body of work. As REZN played their set, one could feel the vibe coming from the crowd as the band played a very trippy collection of material. Head over to REZN’s Official Bandcamp page and check them out for yourself!
Lord Buffalo is a “mud-folk” band that hails from Austin, Texas, and has released three (3) LPs, two (2) EPs, and two (2) singles since forming in 2012. Lord Buffalo consists of Daniel Jesse Pruitt (vocals/guitar), Garrett Jeffery Hellman (guitar), Patrick John Patterson (violin), and Yamal Said (drums). I don’t know if it was the exuberant stage presence that Lord Buffalo presented on stage or the fact that they incorporated a violin in their music that drew me close to them. I also seem to have a fondness for bands from the Austin area (like Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol, The Well, and The Sword). Follow this link to Lord Buffalo’s Official Bandcamp page today and show them some support!

Selling Real Estate in This Market Can Be Easier With These Home Selling Tips
Tumblr media
Selling real estate is always a topic of interest for any home owner. The average American will sell a house every five to seven years. Given a 90 year life expectancy and assuming you buy your first house at age 30. You can expect to selling 8 to 12 houses in your life time.
When it comes to selling a home it can be a very hectic and emotional time. There is a lot of money, memories and family history involved with selling a home. That is why it is best to take an outsider approach to selling real estate. Try to shake off the emotions and think like a potential buyer looking for a new home.
There are typically only 3 ways to sell real estate and some will leave you with more money and create a faster sale than others. There are advantages and disadvantages to each type of home selling process so chose the best option for your particular home selling situation.
Sell your house fast with out a real estate agent
One of the quickest ways to sell real estate is to contact a local real estate investor or home buyer in your area and receive an offer on your house. These real estate professionals exist in every major metropolitan area across the United States and make a living off of investing in real estate.
There is a myth that all real estate investors are out to make a quick buck and take advantage of home owners. Just like any profession there are reputable home buyers and there are dishonest ones. The truth is, real estate investors are a great asset to any home seller.
Most know more about real estate than a typical real estate agent. They are familiar with short sales, helping home owners avoid foreclosure, lease options, rent to own programs, and best of all most can pay cash and create a quick close on your house.
How can it cost you less to sell your home to a real estate investor? Because you are selling real estate directly directly to a buyer there are no real estate agent commissions involved which is typically 6 percent of your sale value. This can add up to tens of thousands of dollars. Instead of paying a real estate agent commissions you are giving some of that money in equity to the new home buyer or investor.

Are you against adopting? Or just against the “adopt don’t shop” mentality? (Fuck that mentality, by the way)
Neither, really, it’s a bit more complicated than that.
I have nothing against rescuing pets in need and in fact two of the three dogs I’ve had since turning 18 were rescues.
Neither of those dogs lived for more than 6 months after rescue due to various health and behavioral concerns they had before I even got them.
Skoll I knew was a fear biter but his full history was not disclosed to his foster mom, who handled his adoption and transported him across Canada and into the US to meet me at the border in Buffalo NY. I euthanized him after two months because he was not a stable or trustworthy dog at all and had bitten me rather severely on the hand for the sin of petting him, something he had asked for dozens of times. I was advised to euthanize by the trainer I’d enlisted for him, his foster mom, and his foster mom’s trainer she’d enlisted for him during his stay with her. I found out later the scope of the horror that dog had lived through and the actual bite record he’d obtained before being tossed out like trash. He should have been euthanized long before he ever got to my house.
Tiki I was told was healthy and active, the woman was just going into hospice care and couldn’t take the dog- I’m not sure if the second part was a lie, but the first definitely was as she rattled and coughed on the way home from getting her and was never fully healthy. I euthanized her after five months because she had repeated health crashes where she literally could not breathe and the specialist vet I’d enlisted told me there was no hope for her to fully recover and she was genetically born wrong. Her tentative diagnosis was a malformation within her sinus causing her to overproduce mucous and then aspirate it, an immune disorder which caused her not to be able to fight off the bacteria pooling in her lungs from aspiration, and hydrocephalus. The hydro alone would have been reason enough to euthanize as that is a death sentence in dogs 99% of the time and very expensive to treat and fight for the slim chance that the dog actually survives. Her vet records were falsified by the previous owner and they disappeared into the aether once they handed her over to me.
Creed on the other hand is my first and only dog from a responsible breeder and he is 6 years old and counting and honestly the best dog I’ve ever had so fuck it I’m breeder only at this point. I’ll take the DCM devil I know over the rescue roulette because I’ve shot twice and been hurt both times.
Likewise I have no problem telling people that if they are not choosey about their dogs, they should consider rescue first. There are plenty of nice, healthy dogs who need homes and those should not be discounted just because “want puppy”. I do have a problem with telling people that buying from a breeder is a bad choice, because there are perfectly legitimate reasons why someone would want a dog from a breeder rather than a rescue, and that should never be something anyone else gets on their case about.
Similarly, I have a problem with rescues that are hypocrites or have ridiculous stringent rules but then when push comes to shove they’re no better than what they claim to be against. Rescues that import sick or aggressive animals and then adopt them out to unsuspecting homes. Rescues that buy animals from mills to then sell to people. Rescues that make up fake origin stories for pity or money. Rescues that spend resources on hard-to-keep animals while allowing easy adoption animals to remain in kill shelters to die. Rescues that falsify vet records. Rescues that falsify the age of the dog. Rescues that breed their own animals. Rescues that won’t adopt to people for the most idiotic of reasons while also complaining that no one wants to adopt their animals. Rescues that lie about breed to gain more interest. Rescues that charge more for purebred animals than mixed breeds. Rescues that steal dogs. Rescues that trap people into being forced to give up their dogs. Rescues that campaign fundraisers “for the animals” and then use that money for their own bank accounts. Rescues that push to legislate owners with happy animals out of existence because the owners were not loving their animals “the right way”. Rescues that lie about a dog’s history so it gets adopted, even when the dog is known to be aggressive and unstable. Rescues with a control problem where they require you to be okay with surprise drop-in visits at any point so they can check your home and possibly take back the dog that never stopped being “theirs”. Rescues that will not work with people who have dogs from breeders/are breeders when a dog gets loose and picked up by rescue, because they don’t want the dog to go back to the breeder/person and continue to be intact and be shown/bred. Rescues that abandon their dogs and adoptees when the going gets tough because they don’t want to deal with it.
Dog rescue is not some holy ground where nothing bad ever happens and no bad people are ever involved, just like dog breeding. They are both run and founded by people, and being that people can be good or bad or a mix of both it’s not hard to see why these things happen. I have no patience for that and will not support it.
Adopt OR shop, as long as one does so ethically, and as long as it fits your lifestyle.

am at work. i went in at 8am because it was that or, like, kill an hour. i was up, i was ready, why the fuck not.
unemployment asks how many days you worked, not how many hours. so there’s no point going in a few hours for several days, which had been my original thought. i’m so much more productive that way? but no. so i’m going to see if i can’t knock out nine hours’ worth of work today.
my position ideally should be done by somebody who comes in three hours a day three or four days a week. this doesn’t work with my schedule of traveling. they ought to replace me. it would be for the best for both of us. sadly, they cannot find someone, i am certain, to do the work for the pittance they pay me. (for the last six years at least the only time I have been given raises have been because NYS has raised the minimum wage so it’d be illegal not to give me a raise. i know, right? well.) so they accomodate my schedule, but that means that I can’t possibly really do the work in a way that makes sense. so it piles up while I’m not there, and then I do a bunch and get ahead and nobody touches it while I’m gone, so I come back and have to redo it. We’re trying to work out ways around it but it’s ridiculous, they should get someone else, but nobody else will do it, but why do I do it? why do i think I’m not worth more money?
well isn’t that a question for the ages, hm?
anyway, in two days off, I did get a lot of cooking stuff done that I’d wanted to, but no cleaning or sewing, which were the things I really wanted to do.
One entirely stupid thing I did, well, that wasn’t entirely stupid-- I got a giftcard from work like a year ago for the sales commission on some cameras, you’re not supposed to get it for online sales but my supervisor worked out a way, and anyhow, it was three hundred bucks and that’s not nothing. But I couldn’t use it for gas, and that’s literally the only thing I’ve bought since March. I had been saving it to buy myself a treat or something, but. No.
So I went to the grocery store and bought a bunch of beer with it, and then restocked my travel first aid kit. I had a good one, but it got burnt up in the yurt fire. So I bought all the band-aids in the world, and some assorted other shit, and then I sat at the table and packaged it nicely into this sweet stiff-sided nylon case I got at work-- someone traded it in with camera equipment in it but it’s red and has a white cross on it and has mesh and vinyl pockets inside, it’s clearly meant to be a first-aid kit. So I cleaned it really well and threw it in my closet and like a year later here I am putting it together.
As I was doing so, I used a knife to open the shrink-wrapping on a bottle of ibuprofen and cut myself with the knife, so I put neosporin and a band-aid on it like a competent human and laughed at myself. Normally, I would’ve just wrapped it in a bit of paper towel and gone about my business until the paper towel fell off.
Dude came in and saw All The Band-Aids and was like “as an adult I go through like, one of those every five years,” and wordlessly I held up my hand and he started laughing.
I hadn’t been in a grocery store since like April, not really. I didn’t know where to stand. I have just... I mean, I’ve been freeloading, living at various people’s houses and eating their food and moving through the world like a ghost, living as an accessory to other people’s lives, unpaid and not paying. If my credit card company is selling my data they must think I died; I bought my last tank of gas in cash because BIL occasionally slips me cash and guess what, Stewarts still lets you select “pay inside” and then get gas, good old Stewarts. Nobody here in Buffalo lets you do that, you gotta prepay and then go in for change or go without a full fill-up.
Oh, weird observation-- it’s a long-term fact of life I’ve known for years that gas is cheaper the farther East you go on the Thruway. Like, gas on the Thruway is usually a few cents more expensive, not enough to get off an exit but you’re not getting a deal, but as you go east it climbs, and it’s as much as thirty cents more a gallon in Troy than it is in Buffalo? Well, currently, that’s the opposite. I got it at $2.29/gal and when I got off in Buffalo it was $2.09. Been like this the whole pandemic, give or take fifty cents across the board. Couldn’t begin to tell you why. Did the supply chain reverse? I don’t know! It’s weird!
Anyway, I had cause to pull a jar off a basement shelf that said “med containers” on it in my handwriting and discovered it was full of medium-sized containers in leather, plastic, or glass that I’d saved from various things. Delightful! One was a latching hinged plastic waterproof case with the name of one of the products at work we distribute, and it was perfectly sized to fit a tube of neosporin and a bunch of assorted band-aids, so now i have a purse first aid kit too. Good for me, I’ll lose it shortly but I feel prepared now. I also found a plastic box embroidery thread had come in, and with a rubber band around it to keep it shut it’s perfect to hold Q-tips in my travel toiletries bag, so that’s another win. (I had a great tin for that purpose but yurt fire, shrug, I’ve just been doing without Q-tips this whole time and I mean, you can get by using a washcloth and it’s probably better for you but I do like a good Q-tip now and then.)
I also wrote a bunch of porn yesterday. I’m not done. The chapter is over eight thousand fucking words long, and it’s almost entirely porn, I mean it about the “fucking” words-- I mean, I guess there’s more than one bit where nobody’s fucking but they’re reading porn, and I’m not going nearly as much into detail with that as I’d expected from the brainstorm sessions, but the actual fucking itself is a completely different dynamic than I had intended all along. I really really had a plan, and it’s not doing any of that, at all. F’rex I thought they’d do dramatic readings of the pornography but Jaskier said it was too filthy for him to read aloud, so he’s just gasping and giving Geralt judgy eyes. Yennefer was going to be in charge but she is falling down on the job. Jaskier just got a glass of wine and is sitting and keeping score in a notebook while the other two fuck. Geralt thinks he’s hilarious and is doing a more-terrible-than-usual job at hiding this. Yennefer is beyond caring about anything except orgasms.
I feel like I have to let them do whatever they want, though, because I was figuring on having this be the last chapter of that particular story, and I wanted to wrap it all up. Which begs the question-- you can re-order series on AO3, and while MDS-->Sisterhood-->Innermost Depths --> Ancient Sea makes coherent sense, it sort of doesn’t because most of the other stories are earlier in the timeline, so how the hell do I arrange that???
Anyway Ancient Sea isn’t the end of the series, anyway, I just.
also I’ve already written an epilogue but I might post it as a separate story because it’s got a Ten Years Later tag on it that I don’t entirely want to take seriously as I’m not committing to any timeline beyond 1263 really. But that’s a lot of thinking.
Anyhow I’m working as I write this but I should go focus more on really getting work done, since I’ve got to cram a couple of months of work into today.

Bailey Seafood
3316 Bailey Avenue
Buffalo, NY 14215
Serving up seafood to Buffalonians for over 35 years. I decided to give this take out legend a try. They have online ordering but it only lets you order 2 hrs in advance. To be honest it is quite confusing since they have a pretty large menu. I ordered the haddock combo ($15.24)and discovered when I picked it up it came with 2 pieces of shrimp and 2 chicken fingers and 3 hush puppies! You also get a choice of potato salad, cole slaw, mac salad or shrimp salad. Plus you have a choice of fries, curly fries, onion rings, rice or okra. My suggestion? Make a Lenten fish fry special that features the haddock with fries and small sides of the mac, potato and coleslaw. THE HOLY TRINITY. You could order your fish and sides “a la carte” but there should be a straight up fish fry dinner that gives all the basics with no meat. Breaded haddock was very tasty. Light crisp coating on an obviously beautiful piece of fish. (8.5) Beer battered was not an option here, but broiled was. Fries were battered. They really did not survive the trip home well. Pretty soggy, but that is to be expected in a styrofoam sauna container. (7) On to their “famous tartar!” Wow just wow. I can honestly say I’ve never had another like it! And yes they do sell that by itself. It was pink! Yes, you heard me pink! It featured a slight hint of chopped red peppers which probably explains it’s unique hue. (10) Sides were different too. A creative spin on the classic faves. Coleslaw was chopped cabbage with a bit of a horseradish kick. (8) Elbow macaroni salad with carrots, celery and a hint of old bay. (8) The weak link was the skin on white potato salad. I did not like it. Very heavy on the black pepper and had red peppers in it too. It made me turn up my nose at the first bite and it had a strange after taste. (4) Overall it was a pretty darn good take out fish fry. A nice place to try if your want to get other seafood with your fried fish. Overall rating an 8.5. They are located on the corner of Bailey and Lasalle and for some reason Lasalle is one way for just the portion from Bailey until the first house. Forcing you to exit away from Bailey. On Street parking only. They did have a nice man opening the doors for people and directing the line. Food was ready when it was supposed to be and the online payment made pick up easy. Just note your order number on your confirmation email! That is what you will need to give when you pick up. They serve fish every day starting at 3, so this is not a lunch time spot. Closed Sundays! A solid choice for a non friday fish fry! Let me tell you, the dinners were flying out of there and I was there early at 3:45!

75 Best Hip-Hop and R&B Albums of 2019, Ranked
For the final time of 2019, we’ll see you in the comments.
Before you begin scrolling through our list of the 75 best hip-hop and R&B albums of 2019, likely without reading any of the words we affixed to many of them, let’s make sure we’re all on the same page.
The eligibility period for this list is December 24, 2018, through December 9, 2019.
If an artist and/or their record label labeled a project as an “EP,” it was disqualified. We are publishing that list on Friday.
Our entire editorial team determined the selections (and the order of the albums listed). Please don’t send Donna your nasty emails.
No, we’re not on the payroll of “Insert Popular Artist Here.” But, we’d love an investment. Have them email Z.
This list is our list—not yours. We don’t expect, nor do we want, you to agree with every album selection or our ordering; we do want you to discover a few great albums you probably missed throughout the past 12 months and press play.
Great, let’s begin. Happy Holidays.
75. Radamiz — Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes
“Lately been accepting my mortality, nobody ever told you that your parents goin’ to get older, too,” Radamiz raps on “Shadowboxing,” the intro to his perfectly-titled sophomore album, Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes. It’s one of many lines that will jump out upon every revisit. Radamiz is a rapper who breathes universal truths, who candidly speaks of being a passion-driven and dreaming-chasing millennial fighting against the odds and the clock. Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes is East Coast hip-hop from a student of the game, who gives an honest portrait of his life with fiery rhymes, and head-nodding production that solidifies Radamiz as one of the best new rappers coming from New York. —Yoh
74. Wale — Wow
 That’s Crazy
73. Lil Peep — Everybody's Everything
72. MIKE — Tears of Joy
71. Deem Spencer — Pretty face
70. Yung Baby Tate — GIRLS
Do not forget Yung Baby Tate. On the list of newcomers who released projects in 2019 that put on display their world-conquering star power, Yung Baby Tate shines. GIRLS, Tate’s independent debut, is vividly painted with shades of luscious vocals, radio-ready songwriting, and bright-colored, post-Nicki Minaj lyricism. You’ll remember Tate as the charming, Atlanta-born songstress who rapped, sung, wrote, and self-produced all 15 tracks. Tate is every woman, but also every artist, a living compilation of styles and genres. While GIRLS may be her first full-length offering, the album successfully represents her wide-ranging talents, and why Yung Baby Tate is on the road to a takeover. —Yoh
69. Baby Keem — DFMB
68. Medhane — Own Pace
67. YG — 4REAL 4REAL
66. Kaina — Next to the Sun
65. 03 Greedo & Kenny Beats — Netflix & Deal
Ever wonder what a Netflix binging session with your favorite rapper and producer would be like? 03 Greedo and Kenny Beats’ collaborative debut is the closest you’ll get this year. There’s no underlying concept about cinema’s relationship to rap or trying to create a #cinematic experience; Greedo raps about movies he used to watch in his trap house over a sampling of Kenny’s eclectic beats. Netflix & Deal is as brisk and exciting as any John Wick movie. You know bodies will be caught, but the thrill comes from seeing how they will top themselves this time. Movie magic. —Dylan "CineMasai" Green
64. Big K.R.I.T. — K.R.I.T. Iz Here
63. Roddy Ricch — Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial
62. Dreamville — Revenge of The Dreamers III
61. Wiki — OOFIE
60. Malibu Ken — Malibu Ken
Aesop Rock deserves to have a little fun. Teaming up with producer TOBACCO for , he puts his extensive vocabulary to use, describing plants dying from neglect on tour and the inner workings of Bob Ross paintings. TOBACCO’s woozy pre-tech synths whir and click at the speed of rap, matching Rock’s saturated yellows with nauseating greens. Malibu Ken is colorful, silly, and more than just a little morbid, a perfect slice of Magic Eye playtime handspun by two of alt-rap’s most endearing weirdos. —Dylan "CineMasai" Green
59. Summer Walker — Over It
58. Jack Harlow — Confetti
57. Jhay Cortez — Famouz
56. Young Dolph & Key Glock — Dum and Dummer
55. Grip — Snubnose
Snubnose, the sophomore project by Atlanta rapper Grip, is a sneaky album. The kind of independent release that sounds major from a newcomer who could be confused as a young veteran. Where there should be kinks, Snubnose appears polished; where most artists fall into a mimicry of trends, Grip leans into original storytelling. He makes 13-tracks about gun violence feel like you’re watching a violent Quentin Tarantino film, with far-less n-words. Meticulous in form, riveting in execution, Snubnose is one rap album that you won’t forget. One of the best surprises of 2019. —Yoh
54. Roc Marciano — Marcielago
53. Young Nudy & Pi'erre Bourne — Sli'merre
52. SiR — Chasing Summer
51. Kano — Hoodies All Summer
50. YBN Cordae — The Lost Boy
YBN Cordae remembers what albums sounded like during the blog era. When Kendrick Lamar made Section.80; when J. Cole made Friday Night Lights; when Chance the Rapper made Acid Rap. Cordae channels that timeframe into , his debut album on Atlantic Records. The North Carolina-born, Maryland-raised rapper weaves through a coming-of-age story with thoughtful self-reflection, pointed storytelling, and soulful nostalgia. It’s a charming, major-label effort by a developing and youthful rapper with an open, old soul. Cordae still lacks a defining identity, but at the very least, The Lost Boy proves he knows how to tell a compelling story. —Yoh
49. Flying Lotus — Flamagra
48. Injury Reserve — Injury Reserve
47. Kevin Abstract — Arizona Baby
46. SAINt JHN — Ghetto Lenny’s Love Songs
45. Griselda — WWCD
Griselda’s debut album, WWCD, does not feel like a traditional debut. The record is wider in scope and sharper in presentation. Between the ferocity of Benny The Butcher, the ear of Westside Gunn, and the mighty snarl of Conway The Machine, Griselda are Buffalo, NY’s unstoppable force. As a group, Griselda have little to prove. Alone and together, the trio have gotten cosigns from some of hip-hop’s greatest writers: Black Thought, Pusha-T, and Raekwon. Respect given is respect earned and studied, in the case of Griselda. Bar for bar, WWCD is the essence of New York street rap for the modern era.—Donna-Claire Chesman
44. Maxo Kream — Brandon Banks
43. Kemba — Gilda
42. Mereba — The Jungle Is The Only Way Out
41. Baby Rose — To Myself
40. Lucky Daye — Painted
Given this was his debut record, Lucky Daye could've played it safe. As anyone who's heard "Roll Some Mo"—Painted's lead single and Lucky's breakout hit—knows, there's a wrenching tenderness to his voice that fits like a glove atop stripped-back production. The risk he took to pepper his album with funkier pop cuts, then, is not one every artist would have taken. Fortunately, Lucky rises to the challenge, proving himself a dynamic enough artist to erase this risk altogether. Plus, when he breaks out those vocals, they're all the more affecting because they've been used sparingly.—Hershal Pandya
39. KOTA The Friend — FOTO
No album warrants a tracklist of 19 songs. Yet, in crafting a worthy spiritual successor to the Rawkus Records era of music that many fondly romanticize, KOTA The Friend comes as close as humanly possible to justifying this run-time on FOTO. The album personifies the term “easy-listening,” maintaining a consistent mood throughout between KOTA’s strikingly unaffected delivery and the delicate, jazzy production on which he raps. No slouch on the mic, KOTA possesses a rare gift for situating bravado alongside vulnerability. He conjures favorable similarities to Phonte at his best, but not so much that FOTO ever suffers for these comparisons. —Hershal Pandya
38. Future — Future Hndrxx Presents: The WIZRD
Women, wealth, and worries are the three Ws found pulsing through the veins of Future’s seventh studio album, . Lyrically, there’s nothing new under WZRD’s promethazine sun, but the magic is in his ability to resurrect old muses as revamped concepts. Future hasn’t radically changed over the years, but here the presentation is altered. WZRD is another installment of melodic confessing, hypnotic anthems, and oil-black trap production that carries the infectious torch passed down from its predecessors. Still, it stands alone as a fresh glimpse into Future’s rockstar world. —Yoh
37. Quelle Chris — Guns
Quelle Chris is self-aware enough to know that everything in this life—emotions, money, ourselves—is weaponized. His sixth studio album Guns isn’t about physical violence as much as it’s a deconstruction of the actions we take in a world slowly devouring itself. Quelle travels the roads of Trump’s America with a twisted sense of humor and animated beats as his only sidearms, jumping between characters, ideas, and planes of existence as only he can. Guns is a polemic on reality itself, a reminder that no weapon formed against a sharp mind shall prosper. —Dylan "CineMasai" Green
36. Toro y Moi — Outer Peace
What good is inner peace when the outer world is falling apart? Toro y Moi’s Outer Peace combines a sleek disco sheen with contemporary rap cadences to bring pep to an increasingly passive-aggressive world. The housing market has crashed (“New House”), and sex barely sells like it used to (“Ordinary Pleasure”), but at least James Murphy is spinning records at his house tonight (“Laws of The Universe”). That cynical sense of humor alone will keep your toe tapping throughout Outer Peace, that is,if the gorgeous grooves and crushing low-end don’t. —Dylan "CineMasai" Green
35. James Blake — Assume Form
The most accessible of his projects to date, is a triumphant release that marks the evolution of James Blake’s artistry, as he matures past the reductive “sad boy” label he’s famously lamented. An unapologetically romantic album, Blake sheds the claustrophobic production of his previous output in favor of shimmering compositions, genuine hooks, and winning collaborations with the likes of AndrĂ© 3000 and Rosalia. Retaining his lyrical flair, Blake punctuates the album with quintessential lines, like “let's go home and talk shit about everyone,” that reminds you of the artist who first grabbed your attention years ago. —Hershal Pandya
34. Bad Bunny — X 100PRE
I’m in love with the way Bad Bunny says his name. I’m a sucker for a good self-reference, but I’m even more of a sucker for the way Bad Bunny bets on his longevity. With that, X 100PRE, Bunny’s debut album, is about being everlasting in a microwaved music industry. The record covers all adjacent hip-hop genres—which, at this point, means all genres—from pop-punk to trap, to lighter fare, and ballads with fine attention to getting our hips moving. You hear Bad Bunny, and you dance; you sing your heart out; you weep, and you celebrate. In one record, Bad Bunny captured every mode of human living. —Donna-Claire Chesman
33. Kyle Dion — SUGA
There are no words to explain Kyle Dion’s amazing, stunning, arresting, becoming, disarming, endearing, charming, affirming, enchanting, beguiling, mollifying, soothing, blaring, encouraging, surprising, yearning, pining, astounding, breathtaking, stupefying, thrilling, outstanding, exciting, exhilarating, electrifying, intoxicating, moving vocal tone on SUGA. Just press play. —Donna-Claire Chesman
32. Kehlani — While We Wait
While We Wait isn’t the full entrĂ©e, it’s just the appetizer. While waiting on the full-length follow-up to 2017’s SweetSexySavage, Kehlani treated fans to a taste of where she’s heading next. Kehlani bares her soul as staunchly as she always has to provide an unfiltered look into her state of mind. On While We Wait, she’s equal parts vulnerable and commanding, struggling to move on from a complicated relationship on “Too Deep” before confidently telling off an old lover on “Nunya.” With a diverse complement of beats, storylines, and moods, there’s plenty to enjoy on this small project. —Kenan Draughorne
31. 2 Chainz — Rap or Go to the League
Twenty-three years after the late, great Notorious B.I.G. rapped, “Either you’re slinging crack rock, or you got a wicked jump shot,” Atlanta hip-hop veteran 2 Chainz stands as an example of a man who had the jump shot and sold the drugs but ultimately chose rap as his escape route from poverty. His fifth studio album, Rap or Go to the League, is an opulent celebration inspired by the city that raised him and the odds he’s overcome. Rap or go to the League is a grown man still progressing as an artist, finding his most introspective voice. —Yoh
30. slowthai — Nothing Great About Britain
An agile storyteller, Northampton’s slowthai expertly mixes elements of UK grime and drill while unpacking the micro and macro of his British upbringing. Carrying no pretensions and seamlessly style-shifting across genres with his frenetic cadence, the singular rapper makes you move and listen simultaneously. In a year that has seen British rap dominate—from DAVE and Little Simz to Skepta and Octavian—slowthai’s versatility and poignant messaging set him apart. He’s funny while commanding attention, hilariously painting stark portraits of British classism, racism, and abuse in an ultimately gripping and focused fashion. —Zach Miller
29. Maxo — LIL BIG MAN
Maxo makes growing up sound incisive and blaring. This album takes place in the crevices of the torment of maturing. is a dusty reclamation of voice, relying on traditional boom bap structures and methodical writing to deliver a solemnly eviscerating experience. The wisdom baked into LIL BIG MAN will at once inspire, surprise, and soothe you. Maxo is Def Jam’s best-kept secret, but not for much longer. —Donna-Claire Chesman
28. Lizzo — Cuz I Love You
Equal parts bold, sexy, and witty, is a commanding listen that features Lizzo at her best. Harnessing her confident mic presence and ear for massive hooks, Lizzo creates a genuinely urgent body of work. A showcase for her eclectic sensibilities, the album jumps effortlessly between the eponymous opener, which recalls the work of The Alabama Shakes, to the infectious pop stylings of “Juice,” without missing a beat. It’s a shame Lizzo infamously fixated on one mixed review because overwhelmingly, the universal response to Cuz I Love You was justifiably glowing. —Hershal Pandya
27. Anderson .Paak — Ventura
A throwback to the beloved soul music of the ’70s, is a return to form for Anderson .Paak after the mixed bag that was . The key takeaway here is Anderson .Paak is fine when he raps, but he is special when he sings. Whether via the glorious, Smokey Robinson-assisted cut, “Make It Better,” or the disarmingly danceable, “Twilight,” Ventura is a breathing testament to this takeaway. The album offers lush canvasses to showcase the stunningly silky tone of .Paak’s voice. Add to this a transcendent AndrĂ© 3000 guest verse, and the case for Ventura becomes undeniable. —Hershal Pandya
26. GoldLink — Diaspora
Subtlety isn’t a characteristic that listeners often encounter on a major label album; the machine believes in a straight line product that doesn’t require further explanation. That’s not GoldLink. The Maryland native is a master of music woven to unveil slowly. With , his RCA “debut,” Link has created his most subtle, yet replayable work of art. Thanks to production warm as spring, Diaspora is a splash of Utopian sunshine, yet in the shadows of his lyrics, the 26-year-old is adding his mysterious life to the lexicon of Black music. It’s the mystery that endures, not the explanation, and GoldLink shapes Diaspora to be an album that lasts. —Yoh
25. Solange — When I Get Home
Solange’s take on Houston hip-hop belongs in a museum. She treats her hometown’s “chopped and screwed” traditions with elevated care throughout When I Get Home, placing it on a golden pedestal to be admired and revered. Dispersing interludes at every turn in the form of fragmented conversations and poems, she creates a linear journey that eternally builds upon itself. When “Almeda” parades into the spotlight with strutting kicks and whooping vocals, it’s impossible not to stand and salute Solange. —Kenan Draughorne
24. Rico Nasty & Kenny Beats — Anger Management
Kenny! Rico! Together! A match perfectly made, is a brisk concept album that captures all the stages of a temper tantrum and boasts some of Rico’s best work (“Big Titties”), and highlights the duo’s impeccable chemistry. Rico made this album from the heat of anger and the thrill of the up-and-down. She imparts boundless energy unto every cut. Kenny’s production is from another plane where music is warped and only made on acid. Their collective thump and vigor make Anger Management the pump-up album of every summer. —Donna-Claire Chesman
23. billy woods — Terror Management
You can’t eat books. You can’t rest easy at night. You can’t trust those closest to you. These are the lessons of billy woods’ second album of 2019, Terror Management. A show of strength from woods, who is writing through the apocalypse, Terror Management feels like being led down a series of jagged alleyways by a dishonest narrator. A narrator who is mistrustful in their own right. The album is knotty and internal. The album is wounded and beside itself. At times, Terror Management serenades fear. Sometimes, it merely quakes in place. Sometimes, woods cracks a joke. Most importantly, Terror Management is fucking good, man. Fucking. Good. —Donna-Claire Chesman
22. Ari Lennox — Shea Butter Baby
Ari Lennox blessed my new apartment during our interview; her soul is kind, and her music is knowing. Her musings on the failures of modern dating sound scrumptious with her silky vocal texture. The beauty of Shea Butter Baby is in the way Ari captures minutiae and makes it sound regal. She does not pull from the abstract, and it’s the rootedness of her art, the humble quality of the content, that makes the album such a triumph. Ari’s professing that this record is for Black women, too, is triumphant. The beauty and love of community permeate the work. —Donna-Claire Chesman
21. Polo G — Die A Legend
Polo G isn’t waiting to receive his flowers. At just 20 years old, the Chicago rapper’s debut album, Die A Legend, reads like a breathless statement of purpose. Life has taken too much from the rapper, born Taurus Bartlett, for him to quit now. Across the album’s 14 tracks, scars created by loved ones lost (“Deep Wounds”) and a corrupt police system (“BST”) compel his meticulous croons. Even a banger like “Pop Out” mixes the spoils of victory and pained reflection with dizzying ease. Die A Legend maintains this balance throughout, finding energy in the melancholic. —Dylan "CineMasai" Green
20. Snoh Aalegra — -ugh, those feels again
Often, you'll listen to a modern R&B record, and sandwiched between trap concessions and crossover attempts, will be a bare and emotive track that'll make you wonder, “why isn’t this the album?” On , Snoh Aalegra took this approach and ran with it, constructing an album composed entirely of these deep-cuts. The effect is 14 organic songs, across which Aalegra shows remarkable restraint. Though her vocals are as lush as the production, she's careful never to over-sing or push for the emotion. As she acknowledges via the album's title, the "feels" are more of an inevitability than anything else. —Hershal Pandya
19. DaBaby — Baby On Baby
DaBaby’s Baby On Baby is 32 minutes of exhilarating trap sermons. He builds the church of Baby On Baby upon confidence pure as cocaine, a charisma so contagious it could charm the Halliwell sisters. The lively, dynamic production perfectly fits his distinctive, Southern rap voice. There are few holes to be found in DaBaby’s artistic armor; it’s refreshing to hear a new artist sound so developed. Baby On Baby is one of the most replayable albums of the year, and at this rate, we will remember 2019 as the year that DaBaby broke out and began his hip-hop takeover. —Yoh
18. Burna Boy — African Giant
With African Giant, international Nigerian superstar Burna Boy created more than a masterpiece. He created a social statement and global experience. Burna paints a spiritual picture, one that is uniquely his own, yet still feels like it belongs to all of us. African Giant is undeniably Naija, dipped in history and Yoruba dialect, leaping over language and cultural barriers. Burna’s lyrics are poignant, coasting over production charged with Afrofusion anthems, dancehall riddims, and hymns. The 19-track album is not just a vibe; it’s a victory. —Ronnia Cherry
17. Boogie — Everythings For Sale
On , Boogie accomplishes the rare feat of making an intensely personal album that is simultaneously self-aware and suitably mature enough to avoid veering into the trap of solipsism. A distinctly West Coast album that borrows influences from the Midwest, Boogie brings the specificity of his lyricism to life with pretty production, alliteration-heavy flows, and an effortless knack for melody. All of these come together to create a surprisingly pleasant listening experience, despite the album’s undeniably dense subject matter. —Hershal Pandya
16. Little Brother — May The Lord Watch
That North Carolina duo Little Brother’s exists is a blessing. It was unclear if we’d ever see Little Brother—currently comprised of rappers Phonte and Rapper Big Pooh—on a record together again, but they pulled it off. On their fifth album, they sound like they’re happy to be together again. Phonte and Pooh appear rejuvenated, modernizing The Minstrel Show’saestheticwhile still dropping jewels that rap fans of any age will find relatable. The beats shimmer, and the rhymes are funny and poignant. Let’s be thankful that UBN’s hiatus was only temporary. —Dylan "CineMasai" Green
15. EarthGang — Mirrorland
EarthGang’s Dreamville debut, , doesn’t stop moving. The motion of each song is exuberant and dynamic, a result of multi-flavored carnival production paired with WowGr8 and Olu’s animated storytelling. How the creative West Atlanta duo stretch and morph their voices to match a variety of styles and sounds make for an exhilarating debut album. It’s a Crayola box wrapped in dynamite. Mirrorland explodes from start to finish. —Yoh
14. Rapsody — Eve
Rapsody’s life music has evolved. Where 2017’s saw Rap focusing inward and weaving a gorgeous tapestry of the Black woman’s experience, features Rap looking outward in all directions. With her most enlivened performances to date, Rapsody honors the Black women who came before her, all to the point of creating opportunities for the Black women who will come after her to take up space. As an album, Eve is lively and emboldened. As a mission statement, Eve is admirable. Rapsody’s deep love of history and Blackness make this the most excitable album in her deep catalog. —Donna-Claire Chesman
13. BeyoncĂ© — HOMECOMING: THE LIVE ALBUM
I remember falling in love when I first saw the HOMECOMING: THE LIVE ALBUM during a live screening of Coachella. BeyoncĂ© has always been a great performer, but this album is more than just a performance. HOMECOMING: THE LIVE ALBUM pays homage to the Black artists that came before BeyoncĂ©, it acknowledges how her Blackness has shaped her, and how she has shaped her Blackness. When she decided to share this moment of brilliance with the world, there was one word that came to mind: thankful. HOMECOMING is a replica of Beyoncé’s Coachella performance. It doesn’t just take us back to the moment; it fully placed us in it, as if we were there with her witnessing her at her peak. —Simi Moonlight
12. Danny Brown — uknowhatimsayin¿
Even at its darkest, Danny Brown’s music is bunches of fun. He gets immense joy from rhyming words together over the weirdest beats he can find. His traditionalist methods and gonzo music preferences meet halfway like never before on his fifth studio album The conceptual bombast of previous projects is thrown out the studio windows for thoughtful raps over zany beats. Executive produced by Q-Tip, the project is loose and punchy, chock full of vignettes as suitable for an open-mic standup set as they are for a rap album. At 38 years old, Danny has little left to prove. uknowhatimsayin¿ makes every word count. —Dylan "CineMasai" Green
11. Megan Thee Stallion — Fever
The rise of Megan Thee Stallion is a blessing to witness. With her formal 300 Entertainment debut, the “1501 Queen” establishes herself as one of the most charismatic forthright rappers working. Her energy is explosive. Her writing is bombastic. Her deliveries are bursting with conviction and swagger. Megan Thee Mack is unchained and unstoppable on , a celebration of her Houston roots and flair for spending another man’s coin. Megan is a dominant force in hip-hop, and considering the sheer strength of Fever, she does not seem to be slowing down. —Donna-Claire Chesman
10. Young Thug — So Much Fun
is a safer work than some of Young Thug’s more elastic, head-spinning offerings. Across 18 songs, the long-awaited debut uses shoulder-shaking trap rhythms and ear-candy melodies to deliver his most accessible work since Rich Gang’s 2014 mixtape, Rich Gang: Tha Tour Pt. 1. It’s still Thug, though. He provides humor and hits, thrilling bravado, and infectious style, all while being the original nucleus that inspires many of his contemporaries today. So Much Fun is the commercial oeuvre for an artist who was always a star but never shined in the mainstream. —Yoh
9. FKA twigs — MAGDALENE
Heartbreak can be oddly beautiful. Rarely do people experience the depths of human emotion as fiercely as when they’re cocooned in its all-consuming agony. If this sounds at all like bad teenage poetry, trust me when I say FKA twigs mines this territory much more gracefully on her transcendent sophomore album, MAGDALENE. Listening to her sing tortured lyrics like, “Were you ever sure? No, no, no, not with me” in her painfully pretty falsetto, it’s hard not to luxuriate in her—and, by extension, your—palpable anguish. Musically, the album conveys the same message more viscerally. It envelops you in asphyxiating production, delivering pockets of euphoric catharsis in the form of cinematic instrumental flourishes and twigs’ gorgeous, boundless vocals. —Hershal Pandya
8. MAVI — Let the Sun Talk
MAVI wants us to understand him on his terms. At just 20 years old, the Charlotte, North Carolina native is capable of bending words to his will, a Sorcerer Supreme in the making coming to grips with his Infinity Stone. On his debut album, , MAVI’s words exist on the borders of Black thought, spirituality, and raw honesty; they are puzzles revealing different configurations with every listen. If you know, you know, and if you don’t, MAVI’s technical skill and ear for beats are enough to pull in weary travelers. —Dylan "CineMasai" Green
7. billy woods & Kenny Segal — Hiding Places
billy woods and Kenny Segal are not scared; they are not in hiding. Instead, they are affecting wordsmith and mad scientist banding together to traverse the depths of retread emotions. A record concerned with the past and what it means for an emotional space to become hollow, will challenge and reward you in the same turn. Kenny Segal’s production is quietly cacophonous and cloudy, while woods presents his most direct and open writing to date. The pair belongs together. —Donna-Claire Chesman
6. Denzel Curry — ZUU
Denzel Curry is proof you can always go home. His latest album, ZUU, is a testament to home as the ultimate battery charger. Curry sheds the conceptual bombast of his last album, TA13OO, in favor of a non-stop thrill ride through the streets of his native Carol City, Florida. The sun-drenched comforts and drawbacks of home, along with clanging production from longtime collaborators FnZ, help him paint some of the most vivid images of his career. These are top-down bangers baked in the 98-degree sun. With ZUU, Denzel Curry found freedom in his backyard. —Dylan "CineMasai" Green
5. Little Simz — GREY Area
Little Simz wants you to stop fucking with her heart. She says as much two tracks into , her boldly cathartic third studio album. At 25, Simz is approaching the threshold of adulthood with more questions than answers, armed with bars that cut to the bone. She’s been one of the UK’s best rappers for years, but her songs have never been so focused, the beats—cooked up by longtime producer Inflo—never so varied and explosive. GREY Area is her masterwork, a panoramic view of a future star fighting back a quarter-life crisis. —Dylan "CineMasai" Green
4. Dave — Psychodrama
Plenty of reviews have regarded Dave’s as an album of a generation, a landmark of UK hip-hop, and we have to agree. Dave burrows into the depths of his psyche, and bravely reports his findings in an accessible and banging format. He makes the intimate aggressive and touching all at once. Psychodrama reveals Dave to be a master writer and rapper, an artist’s artist, and an artist to watch for years to come. —Donna-Claire Chesman
3. Freddie Gibbs & Madlib — Bandana
Good rap sequels are hard to come by. Thankfully, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib aren’t your average rapper-producer duo. Their debut album, 2014’s , recontextualized their respective sounds while cross-pollinating with each other’s audiences. This year’s is more holistic in form, its creators in sync for the first time. Their camaraderie strengthens Gibbs’ elastic flows (“Situations”) and storytelling (“Fake Names”) as much as it pushes Madlib to embellish his trademark samples with trap hi-hats (“Half Manne Half Cocaine”) and crisp kick drums (“Gat Damn”). Trust and freedom embolden this latest chapter in the MadGibbs Cinematic Universe. —Dylan "CineMasai" Green
2. Jamila Woods — Legacy! Legacy!
Jamila Woods makes eternal music. Her runs, her inflections, and her writing are all meant to stand the test of time. On Legacy! Legacy!,Jamila performs a time-bending act, bringing her literary heroes back to life and keeping them squarely in our thoughts as she carries their poetics into her classic album. Legacy!’s success is rooted in a fullness of life and self-love. There is so much agony in the world, but there is still so much love to share. Jamila Woods is in the business of spreading love. Plus, the record also doubles as a great reading list. —Donna-Claire Chesman
1. Tyler, the Creator — IGOR
was a new dawn for Tyler, The Creator. A heartbroken and deluxe dawn. A funky and riveting one. IGOR covered the whole spectrum of heartache. From urgency and helplessness to naming, to pining, to grieving, to coming into yourself. Every step of nursing our lost souls was found on IGOR. The operative question of this epic album is: Who do we become when the rug is pulled out from under us, and our hearts break? The answer is multiple, and each thread of reply makes up the fabric of IGOR. We became angry. We become obsessive. We become deranged. We become desperate, at first for the past, and finally, for peace.
We’ve lived with IGOR for seven months. In those seven months, new meanings have continued to reveal themselves as the album gets uninterrupted play. I heard IGOR at a taco spot in Philly. I hear IGOR in my sleep. The ubiquity of its themes makes it an easy record to latch onto, sure. But the sparkle of its static, the grandiosity of its arrangement, and the needling melodies and vocal performances make IGOR a sonic marvel, too. Let’s also not forget this album is a queer triumph.
IGOR is the album of the year because it was the most ambitious and wrenching record of 2019. IGOR is an album you hold tight and play deep into the night and then play again when the sun comes up, and your eyes are crusted. It’s the album you remember during your last fight, and the album you play when you’ve achieved apathy in the face of pain. It’s the album for when you care too much, and for when you sincerely hope they’re happy. IGOR is as spectacular as the heartbreak itself.
In a world committed to making us all feel like tiny performers on tiny stages, dancing for imaginary currency, IGOR expands our universes. Suddenly, our every move feels precious, purposeful. Our feelings become valid; our hopes and dreams become imperative. Who we are is imperative. Tyler may be wearing a pressed suit and wig, but he is unmasked. Thanks to IGOR, we follow suit.—Donna-Claire Chesman

Waterfront Ale House, NYC
Remember the time before the term “gastropub” came into fashion, and we simply called them “bars with good food”? Well back then, for me, Waterfront Ale House was, and still is, one of NYC’s best! Located a block from the enormous NYU Langone medical complex on 1st Avenue, half the people drinking here are usually wearing scrubs, and Waterfront keeps these masses of medical professionals hydrated and happy with an ever rotating tap list and plates of comfort classics.
I hadn’t visited since moving home from Shanghai, so I popped for lunch in recently after a movie matinee at the local AMC Theater, and found everything just as perfect as the last time I ate and drank here!
Started with an order of the tastiest and most authentic Buffalo wings in the Big Apple...
Tumblr media
Then it was on to my sandwich of choice here at WFAH, their French Dip...
Tumblr media
Mounds of medium rare roast beef with cheddar cheese, toasted on a crunchy yet soft baguette, it’s hard to find better...
Tumblr media
With a pint off their seasonal beer list...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One thing not pictured here that I do want to recommend is Waterfront’s wonderful homemade hot sauce, which they also bottle and sell to go. For “hot heads” like me, it’s worth keeping in your fridge!
When you saddle up to the bar or sit down at a table at the Waterfront Ale House, it’s likely that the person sitting next to you may be a doctor or nurse, as this is where they go to attend to the thirst and hunger that ails them... just like you should.

THE STORY OF LA MUJER
Posted by Buffalo Latino Village Buffalo, NY:
THE STORY OF LA MUJER, THE MATRIRCH AND THE MUSE “Within my darkest moments, the entry of my words gave me light.” -- Jenning C.

Moving Companies & Helpers In Tampa FL
I let that go and just keep quite. It's entertaining in various ways so will keep your Ben 10 fan busy for hours. We were quoted the move would take 8.5 hours. They had been very true to their estimate of two hours. Thanks and YAHUWAH bless you all always in His true love and repair. We're a full service moving company that makes a speciality of each residential and industrial shifting services, and our dedication to customer satisfaction is at the fore-entrance of all we do. We provide full packing services in addition to transferring services. At 2 School Brothers, we provide the help you need with quite a lot of workplace and family moving companies. They’ll offer useful advice. Nevertheless, the notion that there isn't a future with the corporate may cause employees nearly 30 or the company "reduce off" age to actively seek employment elsewhere earlier than they're lower. The employee pipeline is the demographic model of a office, big boys moving tampa (https://moversandmovers.com/tampa-moving-company/) much like the bar charts exhibiting the size of each age cohort in the overall inhabitants. You would possibly even find something in widespread with the navy veterans in the top Notch workers. The crime in areas like this could be very low, many people don’t even lock their doorways whereas they aren't residence. I think I'd like to finish it before finishing college to be able to work at a better-paying job as I put myself through college. What's it like to reside in Tampa, FL? Tampa, Florida is the house to many various transferring companies. The very best demand jobs in Florida are all IT occupations with opportunity for development. There isn't any permanent jobs and the federal government doesn't help permitting the corporation to hire for temporary jobs and there isn't a benefit or nothing. Out of all of that there was just one glass broken. Everyone I know is sharing pictures from that in the future event down right here. This makes me want to sell out right here and move to Dunedin. tampa apartment movers
I found tampa local movers firm through a gaggle on, I did slightly research and that they had good evaluations total so I employed them for my transfer. Glad I discovered it once more! Thanks Docmo I'm glad you enjoyed the hub. I did a Hub on organising residence in one other US State; I'll in all probability do a Hub for coming to work in America as a companion piece. Positioned on the Gulf of Mexico, it is hub of enterprise and exercise. Monetary planning providers normally include estate planning, retirement planning, an assistance in organising pension plans for business house owners. Properly, I did managed to convey I'd never use their companies once more, ever. I will never use one other moving company! Perhaps start with a vacation and check out most of the local scenes first to seek out out if the area will likely be a superb fit for you. In the small rural town we reside in the majority of the persons are laid back and good ole country folks at coronary heart.
Can a nasty truck driver be an excellent agent/broker? After you could have done this, you'll be able to call the Tampa movers, and try to be in a position to give them the listing, so the moving company knows precisely what you need transferring. When the shifting day arrives every staff member is aware of their function. I needed to scramble to move my complete apartment in 1 day. I called back three more instances as late as a two months after the move happened and was instructed it was nonetheless with management. They wished me to pay %110 greater than the Groupon I bought for a fielder. Outdoors the fort there was an countless quantity of snow wherein to construct our snowballs whereas it was more restricted inside the fort. Had the 4th guy confirmed up I would have paid substantially more than what would have been necessary as the work was completed by 3 men. If being a broker didn't work I could be with none revenue if i dedicated 100% as an agent.

I want to say as someone who has lived in the cold all my life through multiple power outages including a two week one
The no cotton as a wicking layer is largely irrelevant. If you have eczema, like I do, or simply a skin sensitivity and wool and synthetics irritate you, go ahead and use cotton, you will do fine. I am from Buffalo, NY, I have walked to work and the grocery store in unshoveled snow, I have gone cross country skiing in unshoveled snow. This has never ever been an issue for me and I have been wearing cotton underlayers due to said eczema my entire life. Especially inside where you are not doing anything labprious I cannot tell you how much this will not come up. It would come up in a mountaineering situation maybe, cannot speak to that, only day to day activities.
Here is some other local advice: put your pajama pants right under your loose jeans. Or leggings, if you and leggings/synthetics are friends. The loose jeans is important because the denim breaks the wind, and loose jeans do not restrict circulation which you super do not want to happen. The flannel or pj pants keeps you toasty in a way the denim will not.
Wear a hat, scarf, and gloves. If you do not have them go ahead and put oversize or loose socks on your hands to make shitty makeshift gloves and tighten your hood drawstrings on your sweatshirt and double up your facemasks from covid. You may not realize how important this is but it is. Wind chill is for fucking real.
Never light propane inside, ever. You make think it is better than dying in the cold but you will just die of carbon monoxide poisoning instead. There are safe indoor butane burners for cooking they sell on amazon, but they must be for indoor use and CANNOT BE USED FOR HEAT.
What you can use for heat is each other. Body heat is a magical thing. Idc if you hate your roommate right now or its socially awkward or whatever. Go sleep under those blankets together. Also remember to lauer blankets or bedding both under and over you. Even carpeted the floor of your house is gonna be cold so if your bed isnt big enough for everybody in the house- layer shit under and over.
COLD WEATHER TIPS FROM SOMEONE WHO LIVES WHERE IT’S COLD:
I always see posts about layering clothing, but there are so many more creative ways to help keep you warm if you don’t have a lot of warm clothes. But first, a note on layering clothing:
-Your underlayer is your WICKING layer. That means it is a layer specifically to absorb the moisture your body produces. DO NOT USE COTTON AS A BOTTOM LAYER. Use merino wool if possible, but other good substitutions are nylon, polyester and rayon.
-Your middle layer is for insulation. You want AIR POCKETS in there, NOT tight fitting clothes. This is where you want to put your fluffy sweaters, your fleece, down, fur, flannel, or vests. If you do not have these, you can substitute with multiple layers of long sleeve shirts.
-Your outer layer is for keeping the cold away from your body. If you do not have a jacket, you can put on your thickest piece of clothing and then a raincoat over it. Windbreaker if you have one.
ALSO
-Jeans are the absolute worst at holding heat. Use only as a last resort.
-You can’t really ever have too many layers on your feet. Alternate tucking your layers of pants into your layers of socks to keep your ankles warm!
-Wear a hat OVER a hood if it will fit! This will keep your ears warmest.
TAKE OFF/OUT ANY AND ALL JEWELERY/PIERCINGS
-If you have a medical bracelet, DO NOT REMOVE IT. If you can, tuck a layer of clothes between it and your skin.
NON-CLOTHING TIPS:
-Raid your recycling. Gather all cardboard boxes and break them down so that they are flat. Put them on the floor to add more layers between you and the cooling house. Newspaper will also serve the same purpose.
-In an emergency, you can also layer newspaper between clothing layers. Don’t worry about looking stupid if you’re staying warm.
-If you have a tent, set that sucker up in whatever room you have decided to stay in. Stay in it and keep it zipped shut as much as you can, but do NOT cover the vent at the top. You can put the rain fly up, but make sure there is circulating air for you to breathe.
-You are probably not going to feel very hungry at times. DO NOT STOP EATING OR DRINKING. Digestion produces a lot of body heat and the food will give your body energy to keep itself going.
-The best foods are heavy and full of carbs and proteins. Eat nuts, eggs, pasta, meats, and beans. If you are on a diet, now you’re not. If you’re vegetarian
bulk up on those pastas and nuts.
-Try not to sweat. If you are finding yourself getting damp, take off the outer layer just until you start to cool slightly. Then redress! Your bottom layer should dry quickly, and being wet is dangerous.
-On that note, STAY ACTIVE. You are probably going to want to hunker down and snuggle up, but that will make your muscles cramp. Every 15-20 minutes do something that gets you up and about. Walk circles in the room, do a couple jumping jacks, stretch, whatever. Just enough to move some blood around your body. Don’t get sweaty or out of breath, it’s just a little movement.
-CHAPSTICK. ON YOUR LIPS. ON YOUR NOSE. ON YOUR EARS. ON YOUR KNUCKLES. Don’t let your extremities get dry or cracked.
SIGNS OF HYPOTHERMIA:
-Uncontrollable shivering -Slurred speech -Confusion or memory loss -Dizziness or lack of coordination -Inability to be woken from sleep
CHILDREN AND INFANTS!!!! I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH.
-Children WILL get colder before you. Make sure they are properly bundled up.
-If you need to breastfeed, put a blanket over the both of you and wait a few minutes for the air to warm before removing or shifting your clothing.
-DO NOT COVER AN INFANTS FACE. ESPECIALLY WHEN SLEEPING. Keep them tucked inside your own clothes when possible. As close to your heart and stomach as possible.
-Put chapstick on children’s cheeks and clean their face often if they are crying or wiping at their nose. This will prevent cracked skin and irritation.
-Make sure your children are staying as hydrated as you! They are going to fuss and not want to drink cold things, but they NEED liquids.
SIGNS OF HYPOTHERMIA IN INFANTS AND TODDLERS ARE DIFFERENT:
-Shortness of breath  -Cold, red skin -Lethargy or listlessness
Finally:
CHECK ON YOUR NEIGHBORS. CHECK ON CHILDREN. CHECK ON THE ELDERLY. STAY SNUGGLED. STAY SAFE.
