Hi! I'm Jasper, in the mire of my 30s, I use they/them, and this is my new writeblr!

I mainly write fantasy and gothic fiction but I also dip my toe into science-fantasy every now and again. Most of what I write is Teen appropriate, but all of my fiction is for Adults and I will ocassionally dip into 18+ territory, so this is a warning to Minors that this might not be the space for you.

My main WIPs are:

The Postmaster's Apprentice

A high fantasy tale of a postie trying desperately to deliver a letter, but forced to have adventures along the way. It has tree nymph elves, stone folk made of real stone, trolls with trade unions, mushroom forests, mountain vampires, giant ghosts, shipwrecks, and more!

The Playwright King

A low fantasy story about a terrible playwright, but excellent actor, who finds himself playing the role of monarch to save the Queen Consort after the real king dies. There are plots and shenanigans, silly Shakespearean identity hijinks, and sentient talking swords.

Tupper's Tale

A low fantasy tale about Hob Tupper, a monk-in-training, scribe's apprentice, and (secretly) not really a boy. The story follows Hob as they learn their trade, uncover monastic secrets, solve murders and scandals, fall in love, and change the destiny of a kingdom or two.

Burning Branches, Golden Trees

A science-fantasy, espionage space opera loosely based on the fairy tale Gold-Tree and Silver-Tree, wherein our heroine Belin enters an arranged marriage, tasked by her boss to discover whether or not her new husband is a traitor, and if not, to uncover the truth of the strange happenings on Palatinate-709. It has far-off planets, space KGB, telepathic eugenicists, spycraft, giant snails, queer polyamory, and more!

So, we like foxtaglia, right?

Well, he's a snezhnayan fox, so mayyyyyybe he'll be one of those foxes that just stays chunky because they don't really shed the winter coat, so, instead of a lanky ouppy you get chonky fox that doesn't shed the winter coat, round like a barrel oughhhhh we love it he's so grabbbable!!!

*EXTREMELY CORRECT BUZZER SOUND*

Childe is EXTRAORDINARILY proud of his coat, all fluffy and russet with strands of copper that gleam in the sunlight, his tail especially. it's two sides of the same coin- when not working, he keeps it neat and tidy, lavishing the fur with the best products he can find. when he IS busy, however, particularly on missions, he often comes home coated with blood, splattered on his ears and hair and tail and always looking marvelously pleased with himself. the two constants are that his coat always stays thick and the fact that whenever he gets home, he demands cuddles with you right then and there, happily snuggling down onto your lap and yipping until you start petting him. even if he's covered with blood, Childe rolls and squirms until you sigh and finally place your hand on his stomach, ruffling the fur back and forth

the bright side is that this is the most ideal time to simply scoop him up and take him to the bath. he practically fills your arms with how fluffy his coat is, wriggling a little before getting cozy- maybe a bit less cozy when you carefully set him into the half-filled tub, but he relaxes the moment you start gently scrubbing his fur with shampoo, tail flopping back and forth contentedly. you count down the seconds in your head and right on cue, a little sopping wet fox becomes a very large, sopping wet Abyssal beast. Foul Legacy's tail wags happily back and forth as you simply continue washing the blood from his armor, resting his chin on the edge of the tub. it's the same every time, he so loves being pampered by your gentle, loving hands, and you adore cooing over him and making sure his fur and hair are fluffy and clean once more

so there’s an old post on here from a long time ago about these creatures called selkies. they’re like … werewolves, but seals. aquatic werewolves. and the post from some plot bunny blog said that selkies, when in human form, carry their coats around/hide them, and whoever finds the coat keeps it because now they and the selkie are mated.
