When 'Thinking Happy' Just Isn't Enough
Feeling happy isn��t automatic for everyone. It’s common to think something's wrong if you’re not happy all the time. But remember, happiness is a choice (except in cases of psychiatric conditions). Deciding to find reasons to be happy and consciously shifting your focus can transform your outlook.
If you’re ever overwhelmed by difficult emotions or life’s challenges, remember: your feelings are just a part of your experience, not your entire identity.
Sometimes, emotions can feel like heavy weights with no solution in sight. We all experience complex feelings and moments of feeling stuck. In those times, it’s vital to allow yourself to just be present. Acknowledge your emotions instead of resisting them. This acknowledgment is the first step to processing, releasing their grip, and moving from a negative to a neutral, and ultimately, a positive mindset. 🌻
Remember, feeling sad or overwhelmed can be tough, and sometimes “thinking happy thoughts” isn’t enough. But by embracing where you are right now, you’re already on the path to healing and growth. 💫
Here are some practical strategies to help:
Stay Active: Move your body.
Practice Mindfulness and Meditation: Self-hypnosis and EFT (tapping on acupressure points) are also very helpful in just about any area you wish to improve.
Positive Affirmations: Recite and listen to positive affirmations
Practice Kindness
Maintain a Routine: Eat healthy foods and drink plenty of water. Get some sunlight. Go to sleep and wake up around the same time every day.
Have fun and find reasons to laugh.
Gratitude Journaling.
Set Small, Achievable Goals
Limit Social Media
Connection: Reach out to friends or family members, therapist, or a counselor.
