Subject 1-what is self shipping

Self shipping is basically what it sounds like it's when you put yourself in any kind of relationship with fictional character. There's no wrong way to do this so it can be anything from an oc (original Character you make yourself) a self insert (we will go more in detail on this later) or simply any way you see fit! This is commonly used as a way for comfort,those who are fictosexual (someone who only experiences romantic and/or sexual feelings to fictional characters) or just for fun!

1-A: how do I self ship?

You can self ship in any way you want! You can draw you can write you can roleplay whatever you wanna do! There's no wrong way you can self ship!

1-B: what types of relationships can I have with fictional characters?

Any kind! The limit is your imagination but I'll go over the common 3 you'll mostly see Romantic, platonic and familiar

1-C: okay if there is no wrong way to self ship can I *illegal relationship here*

I mean nothing is physically stopping you but what you are describing is proship/ comship which is the idea that people should be allowed to ship anything even those that are seen as wrong/taboo such as minor x adult,animal x human, incest and things of that nature without any form of repercussions. A lot of self ship blogs do not allow these kinds of beliefs on their blog (including this one)

2-A: what are some terms I should know!

There are a few terms you will see around the self ship side of Tumblr that will be helpful to know on your journey they are as follows!

F/O

F/O means fictional other it's the same way you would use girlfriend or boyfriend but sense fictional characters can be of any gender or not even be romantic it is common to use the term fictional other

S/I

S/I means self insert it is when you insert yourself into the fictional world you can have more than one for different fictional worlds and you don't even have to self ship to make a self insert you can just wanna exist in there world same way around too you don't have to make a self insert if you don't wanna the world is your canvas

Okay to share/no Sharing

Now sense self shipping is something many use for comfort some may not wanna see their fictional other in another relationship. Now that doesn't mean you just can't ship with that character anymore usually if you follow someone or become friends/mutuals with someone they will ask for a tag or ask you to block them it's all a Matter of communication!

So I had a dream where a group of heroes & I were looking for this sword that had literally unlimited power? And because my dreams give me the abilities of my sona (and my sona’s fucking OP), the group decided I was the only one strong enough to handle it??? I guess???

(I was talking to someone about this yesterday who is definitely not a monsterfucker, and they were not convinced by my take on AVP at all XD. I think this is definitely a monsterfucker spin on the movie)

Then he waits for her to nod her consent, and does a really tidy job of marking her as a Blooded, and his concentration is to the max!! (his little purr after he's finished is so cute too). The he bows in respect to her. She may be human, but she's his equal as a warrior.

After Lex has saved his life and injured (and seriously pissed off) the Alien Queen, and while she's tearing the place to bits to get at Lex, Scar does the most Extra™ spin attack to draw her attention away from Lex, lodging his combistick right through her face. Bad. Ass!

Then while Lex gets away, he roars and flares his mandibles in a challenge at the Queen, which gives Lex the opportunity she needs to pick up the chain, and the two of them haul on it together and work seamlessly. They clearly understand each other without the need for words, or ego. This is very much a Team Effort:

‣ Honestly, Luna never saw Mingyu in a romantic way. Sure she thought he was attractive but that was it. The reason her heart was beating so fast was that after knowing Mingyu for years, she could tell when he was lying or joking… and even without looking at him and simply listening, his tone gave it away… he was telling the truth— Luna knew that and so did the rest of the members.

‣ And once her time was up, Luna opened her eyes and playfully glared at the men to her right�� “Ya! Kim Mingyu stop lying! People will get the wrong idea!” she joked, pretending to brush it off for the sake of the show and the fans.

‣ After that, they simply continued with the game, however, when the episode was released, fans noticed a few things: first, was how serious Mingyu looked when confessing. Second, was the shocked look on the other members’ faces as they stared at Mingyu, and lastly, was how Jeonghan was sitting quietly at the end of the line as he stared ❨glared❩ at Mingyu.

‣ Mingyu and Luna didn't talk about it afterward. Everything was back to normal except for the fact that Mingyu wasn't afraid to show his affection towards her anymore… and neither was Jeonghan.

‣ And that ladies and gentlemen is how the ‘the most famous love triangle in K-pop history’ was made. The love triangle dynamic between the three went on for years and hardcore fans of each couple would root for their favorite ship— meticulously gathering evidence and watching their every move to see who would win.

These aren't the type to sit down and 'wait' for things to come to them, they will simply be stubborn enough to do it themselves. Everything may not have gone as planned on the first go, but with time and stability they will come out greater and gain a sense of self-mastery in their craft.

Venus Placements - People with venusian aspects like sun/moon/rising have a gift that contains a higher amount of charm then most. These individuals can utilize their personalities in a way that will get them favored. Like their gemini friends, they can be a lil tricky to figure out. It is because they are able to use their beauty as a shield (as well as an illusion) to get what they want in life. Reading KissingLizard's fic Let's All Assume the Worst and am overcome with another Perryshmiertz fic idea bc I have no self control, obviously.

Basically, premise takes place after Doof 101; he's quit evil and Human!Perry isn't his nemesis anymore. It comes with the iconic actualism crisis: Perry's happy for Doof, and he's happy they aren't bound by the rules of a nemesis-ship anymore. On the other hand, they are no longer obligated to see each other, and Perry's back on the free agent's field. He doesn't know how to approach asking to stay, and Heinz doesn't know how to ask Perry to stay either. They're trapped in this will-they-won't-they bc that's the only place they know after their 5 year nemesis-ship.

Enter Vanessa. She's known Candace and her friends for some time now too, though they hardly interact. Candace has her own cliche, and Vanessa runs in the punk/emo/goth circles. They're amicable though, so they banded together for a group project with Stacy and another one of Vanessa's friend, I'll call them Arnie. You can probably see where this is going.

Insert Comedy of Errors, and Vanessa tells Candace, Phineas and Ferb that he and her father has been spinning around each other for ages, and all four of them conspire to set them up. Candace, Jenny, Stacy, Vanessa and Arnie try to set up tropes. Have I forgotten to mention Danville High is setting up for an end of the year prom type celebration? They pull Heinz to help with the kissing booth, a five minutes in Heaven, a Kissing Cam. They couldn't take into account, however, Heinz's rotten luck and awful understanding of social cues, as well as the fact that Perry is a secret agent.

The boys, however, are pulling out as many romance stops as their young lives understand to make up the Grandest Performance of Romance Ever. Love Handël is involved. Phineas has pulled out the blueprints for the second titanic.

All this will cumulate with the highschool gym building on fire, OWCA having to run interference to ensure a bunch of kids dont die and a kiss under the rain. Perry has the best kids EVER.

— Sang-woo lowkey wants to be a sugar daddy!husband

— When they first start getting to know each other, (outside the games) all Sang-Woo can do is buy Hyun-ju gifts with a quiet nod of the head when he gives them to her. It’s not him wanting to be the rich one showing off, or the powerful one of the two, he just doesn't know how else to show his affection yet. Its how he tries to woo her, but Hyun-ju ends up telling him she doesn't need the gifts or anything to spend time with him! She just wants to be with him

— In the games together, his brains and her skills… Them teaming up would be dangerous for everyone else, they could win every game so fast but- Hyun-ju would be wanting to save all these people and Sang-woo wouldn’t exactly want that, with every aspect he has to consider in each moment. But Hyun-ju knocks sense into Sang-woo and convinces him to help her help the rest of their team and friends they made on the inside.

— He’s smart, cynical and a little dark. So naturally he wants a very large portion of the money for himself, but he really takes into account what she says and softens up. Plus, he’d fold immediately and helps her with everything she asks of him after seeing how much she cares about these people and how they make her happy (and realizing how much he wants to make her happy))

— She helps him learn to be kind. She brings it out of him.

— Hyun-ju also brings out his protective side

— She brings out the best in him and he brings out the worst in her— the part of her that is seething with the world, and he sees that part of her and he loves every part of it. Simon: Oleadners brother. Kinda. Moreso a robot piloting Oleanders brothers body. Fucking hates Oleander but after Oleander lobotomized himself Simon begrudgingly takes care of him now. Despite his complicated feelings, he's wildly overprotective.

Cybel: A robot Oleander made! They are meant to gather as much information as they possibly can in case some horrible event happens that kills off humanity. is quite literally indestructible. Likes ice cream.

Tabb: This fucking guy. Trapped in a time loop but he doesn't know and its technically not a time loop. Met his (now) husband ages ago but died shortly after meeting him, so he revived Tabb, then the two got married, then Tabb died again so Halt (the husband) revived him again but he lost his memories then halt died and Tabb revived him the Tabb died again so Halt revived him but he lost all his memories so they dated again and got remarried then Tabb died again and you get the idea. Very nice guy, a bit anxious, perfectly normal minus the dying thing. If it wasn't for him losing all his memories and Halt tampering with shit so he was in love with him i uh. Don't think he'd actually like Halt all that much tbh

Full disclosure every time I look at the KumoDesu Fandom I see a lot of takes I disagree with strongly (Reddit what did I expect really)… BUT hating on opinions you disagree with is super wrong instead you should spread opinions you love! So yknow what let me post some of my KumoDesu Opinions unprompted.

Here’s one my biggest HC: Why I see the Demon Army as Family:

I will die on the hill of Shiro and Ariel as the parents to Mera (Oldest), Kyouya (middle child), and Sophia (youngest). But here's sort of why I see the coding that way.

Not gonna be defending/explaining why I ship Shiro x Ariel, it’s obvious.

Shiro and Ariel give the most advice and guidance to the three of them (they quite LITERALLY raised Sophia). Ariel giving the talks working through emotions and Shiro being the more action based parent. They also quite literally are responsible for sorting out all their housing, schooling, and helping with employment.

Mera gives the vibe of the sibling with a bigger age gap than the other two, thus why he takes a less sibling bickering and more sibling guidance role (he also has the self esteem issues of an eldest child ngl). I wouldn’t say he ever takes a parental role so much because he feels more on Sophia and Kyouya’s level as opposed to Ariel and Shiro’s. Mera says word for word that helping Kyouya feels like having a younger brother as well. And since Sophia was originally his responsibility to look after but after Shiro and Ariel join them they mostly take over it gives the feeling of “orphan who expects they have to parent their much younger sibling only to be adopted and now only have it when they’re parents are at work”.

Sophia’s thing with Mera is mostly due to the envy skill. I think her real feelings are deep proactive feelings due to having no one close to her in her past life and the fact that after knowing the truth (and seeing all her flaws) he’s still determined to stick by her side. She’s literally never had that ever, not even a lesser more fair weather version of that. I will also say Ariel, Shiro, and Kyouya fall more into a “do rather than say” kind of love language so Mera being very verbal about his commitment probably floors her. I don’t think she actually wants to date him, I would put it more into “child mistakes familiar affection for romantic and say they want to marry their sibling/parent when young but grows out of it” (yknow what Shun was PRAYING was going on with Sue). I do think Sophia strongly gives the vibe of “overprotective sibling who with “test” all her sibling’s potential dates” to Mera. She’s gonna “vet” those people to decide if they’re worthy and hopefully they’ll live.

Sophia’s relationship with Kyouya is strongly “I’m the only one allowed to bully him” which is just sibling energy 101. She constantly taunts him in any way that proves she’s stronger but if someone else did that to him she would call pathetic and beneath him. Just, if you have a sibling would know this behavior very well. I do think Sophia gives off youngest (and problem child) vibes as always starting shit and needing the most attention from their parents. Where as Kyouya gives of more of a middle child (has severe issues) vibe, where he’s calmer and practiced at not responding to the younger one starting shit (which honestly only pisses them off more). He also did have a ton of siblings as a goblin (that he babysat a lot) so he’s just very practiced.

I know the Puppet Taratect’s as actually Ariel’s (and by extension Shiro’s) children but is it horrible of me to say they give off more pet vibes. Pets are still kids and you can be a pet Mom. I own cats and I LOVE cats, they have that strong energy. Just the fact that they don’t really need to be parented/taught/guidance but do need someone watching them to make sure they don’t get into things they shouldn’t. And the fact that anyone in their group can do it it’s not really something that needs a particular experience/angle. The fact that they’re self sufficient on their own but hang around because they want to is also very cat coded.

I just want to burble a bit about one of my favourite creatures-slash-natural-phenomena from any ttrpg ever: Starfinder’s Plasma Ooze.

This thing. Found on pages 100 and 101 of the Alien Archive 2 book. It is amazing.

Plasma oozes are, essentially, giant electromagnetic space slimes that are usually found inside the surface of stars, but can also be seen hanging around other electromagnetic phenomena in space. They average 20ft across, and eat electricity to heal themselves, and can be a danger to shipping.

So, from a standing start, we have star oozes. This is already incredible. But then we get another couple of tidbits:

There is a lost, absolutely titanic star ooze wandering around hyperspace for the last several centuries. Growing steadily. It either got ripped into hyperspace when a ship activated their Drift engine too close, or possibly plasma oozes, given that they’re electromagnetic, might have an innate ability to access the Drift. Meaning that they might be Drift capable.

And then for a final touch:

There is a group of people out there calling themselves ‘the Sunkillers’ who specialise in hunting plasma oozes. And I’m wondering … Do they know about the Drift ooze? Do they know about the titanic centuries-old mystery ooze in hyperspace? Because there’s a plotline and a half. Do you want to help a gang of dubiously prepared self-titled ‘Sunkillers’ hunt their white whale in the form of a titanic electromagnetic star ooze through the hyperspace dimension? Because you could do that.

This is exactly the sort of ecology and worldbuilding I deeply enjoy in my science fantasy over here.

Also, again, I just really love oozes.

So, I'm laying in bed, waiting for the painkillers to kick in, with an ice pack strapped to my knee, and I'm letting my mind wander. And I'm thinking about Warhammer 40k, because of course I am, this is what I do when I'm bored and in pain.

While laying here, I got to thinking: when were the first "official" conflicts between humanity and the all the other Xenos factions? So I'm just delirious enough to be like "let's figure this shit out."

And I'm already needing to start off with a mulligan, because the Orks, the Eldar, and the daemons of Chaos have always been ubiquitous in the Warhammer galaxy ever since humanity first walked upright, so trying to pin down "first contact conflict" is a mugs game. It would all be pre-Dark Age of Technology. Who the fuck knows for sure.

So who else is there: in terms of "major" Xenos factions (that is: armies with a codex), we got the Tyranids, the Tau, the Necrons, and the Leagues of Votann. Which is less than I hoped, but about what I expected for James "SPESS MEHREEN" Workshep.

So: the Tyranids. The First Tyrannic War was in 745.M41. However: if we really want to be specific and pedantic (and I do), then the first time the Imperium ran into the Tyranids was "sometime" around 500.M41 when genestealers were first encountered on the moons of Ymgarl. Then again, I'm not actually sure we should count that, considering that the Imperium wouldn't even make that connection themselves until much later.

Next: the Tau. Technically first "contact" was in 789.M35, when an AdMech explorator ship, Land's Vision, found the planet that would eventually be named Tau, and recorded a primitive species that had mastered simple tools and fire. But because that planet became inaccessible due to a warp storm, and the records got lost in the chaos of the Age of Apostasy, we (again) probably shouldn't count that. First real conflict was the Damocles Crusade, between 742.M41 and 745.M41... and it only ended because the Tyranids showed up.

Moving on: the Necrons. Technically, they've been "around" even longer than the Eldar. But they've mostly all been fucking asleep in their tomb worlds, except for a select few who woke up early (looking at you Trazyn). So, really, if we're ignoring shit like Szarekh the Silent King returning from his self imposed exile in response to the Tyranids showing up (are we noticing a pattern here?), first "official" conflict with the Imperium was the Sanctuary 101 massacre in 897.M41.

And finally: the Leagues of Votann. And, again: they've been "around" for who knows how long. It's heavily implied that their generation ships left Earth for the galactic core before even the Dark Age of Technology. But they mostly kept to themselves and didn't venture outside the holds in the galactic core until Cadia exploded and the Cicatrix Maledictum cut the galaxy in half, forcing them to leave. Finally, an "alien" faction being introduced to the setting that has nothing to do with the fucking Tyranids.

And, y'know... looking at all that? That really does kinda put in perspective why everything seems to have gone to shit in 40k, doesn't it?

Between the end of the Horus Heresy in 014.M31 and the start of the Damocles Crusade in 742.M41, the only things the Imperium of Man had to really worry about were Orks, Eldar, daemons, and renegades/traitors. Like, none of that is great (and a lot of it is self inflicted), but that kind of setup seems manageable. The Eldar never show up in huge numbers, and daemons require incredibly specific circumstances to even manifest outside The Warp. Hell, even the Orks for most of that time are basically just a nuisance, since a warboss on the scale of Urlakk Urg wouldn't be seen till Ghazgkull. Really, the most dangerous thing the Imperium had to worry about during that stretch of time was regular humans rebelling (rightfully so) in the face of the Imperium being a nightmarishly oppressive theocratic fascist state.

That's 10,000 years or so that you could almost call relatively stable, where the vast majority of issues were problems that it inflicted on itself. Business as usual.

AND THEN

In the span of just over 250 years, there's several wars with the Tau, the Tyranids show up over and over again, the Necrons start waking up, and... then the Leagues of Votann are also here now lol

Something, something, decades where nothing happens, and weeks where decades happen, etc.
