I've always found Alexander Saburov interesting, especially P1 Rubin's take on him where he tells how Alexander in incognito saved people from burning house and went unrecognized for the deed (nor flaunted it). Wonderful and easy to miss characterization.

YES saburov's fucked up sense of performing duty by putting himself at risk... my favorite... have had thoughts brewing in response to this that aren't quite cooked enough yet but it's very much a gendered standard that he holds himself to IMO, of idealized masculinity as a responsibility. as an active role and as the way things must be done. making the choices that he thinks need to be made regardless of how bad they are for him. pairing beautifully with katerina's self-destructive attempts to conform to the extremely feminine-gendered role of mistress, pairing wonderfully with the two of them's catastrophic attempt to conform to the heteropatriarchal nuclear family archetype by adopting the changeling :^) and especially how this is a function of how saburov relates to his Job, a role that's been passed down in his family and Actually Is critical to the function of the Town, inescapably so as long as the system of rulers exists

What do you think uf papyrus's job would be on the surface?

Typically, I'm a big big fan of Ambassador Papyrus, or maybe like, Director of Human Relations or smth, depending on circumstances. I think he'd be pretty instrumental in helping get things on track, especially given that in UF, they can't rely on Asgore to do a lot of the political lifting he (probably) does in UT.

That being said, if things didn't pan out that way, it's hard to say! He’s very heavily influenced by those around him, and by the time the desire to "serve a purpose", I think he'd have to be in therapy for a while before he'd entertain making decisions prioritizing himself. And then there's so much on the surface! So many options, so many careers he could pursue, it'd probably be pretty overwhelming.

But I think he'd actually enjoy maybe like, traveling and writing books about nature and geology? Maybe dabble a bit in photography? Or maybe something like interior design, he loves atmospheric presence (even if he isn't exactly aware of it) and fine tuning things to be just so. I think anything that gave him an excuse to be a busy bee would be good for him lol

i divide my thinking between DIRTY AIR aka 'my self indulgent idealistic version of Armored Core where corporate dehumanisation can be overcome by the power of friendship' and The Other Fic aka 'the dehumanisation and privatisation of the entire galaxy taken to its most cynical extreme' simply because i need two sandboxes to play in.

i know the themes and tone of armored core would demand sex workers of corps and otherwise be as dehumanised as everyone else because nobody gets to escape the hellish cycle of profit and alienation. that's for The Other Fic.

DIRTY AIR and my communist union-loving ass love the idea of the Guild Of Sex Workers being one of the last bastions of fierce protections for its workers, with the oldest professional also being the oldest and most powerful union, the ONLY one to truly span across systems and gates after the union of brewers and engineers got dismantled during the jupiter war.

even the corps bow down to the guild: it's said the first most important laws of the universe are the physical ones, but the second most important are guild laws. the guild has the resources to imprison and execute and financially mutilate anyone who violates the rights of their workers. even balam's and arquebus' in-house sex workers are technically independent contracts from the guild and have their own strict and humane contracts. fucking with sex workers is career suicide.

I wish my OCD would stop being so fucking sneaky. I realised literally yesterday that maybe, just maybe, my biggest coping mechanism for getting stuck in obsessive spirals being repeating "It's fine" out loud in multiples of three or five in a very specific cadence is a compulsion and not just... a thing I am trying to convince myself of. And if so, I'm not sure what the proper response is. I have no idea if doing this is maladaptive and I should stop or if... no. I shan't say...

The process of unmasking is a beautiful thing. My lack of emotiveness and tendency to listen to the same song on loop for hours at a time and love of constantly talking to myself all make me happy. It also scares away people who associate unmasked neurodivergent behaviors with serial killers. Win win!

The thing that really bums me out about Sonny Kiss non renewal is that TK thinks she has a lot of potential. And that they could be back if they get really hot elsewhere.

What was Dark/Elevation for then? Was it not a means to elevate and showcase your roster that doesn’t get opportunities compared to others? Was it not meant for additional story and depth?

Sonny Kiss was, and still is, “hot”. Her storyline with Joey was perfection. There was clearly thought put into it between both wrestlers and what production would assist with.

Sure after that arc Sonny’s ‘story’ had a rough patch but that didn’t diminish her in ring skill whatsoever. She got high praises no matter the match she was in wether singles, duos, trios.

Why does she have to get “hot elsewhere” for you to notice her when she was in your company, on your roster, in your contacts. CALL THEM.

When Jade formed the Baddies, had dedicated sections, signs, hashtags, and a fresh storyline to AEW guess who was one of the wrestlers they teased on social media about joining Jade, Velvet, and Kiera? Sonny Kiss.

There could have been something monumental in AEW’s women’s division with that. It should have went somewhere. Her peers were clearly supportive of the idea. They were clearly close in the locker room and on media, even took photoshoots in matching gear. The Baddies were at their peak then.

Jade and The Baddies could have come out with Sonny Kiss, supported her matches and vice versa. It would have all be done in good light.

Sonny Kiss was perfect on Ring of Honor.

Was I a fan of the faction name Trustbusters? No. But how many times has AEW swept a concept under the rug when things don’t work out? It could have been tossed and no one would bat an eye. Faction name aside, the group offered vastly different styles to the program.

Ring of Honor has way better booking in the women’s division compared to Dynamite and Collision, in my opinion. Production looks, feels, and sounds vastly different from those shows as well. Each women’s match has more time compared to what we are given on tv and even if it isn’t they definitely feel better utilized.

I think they should have and still could dive into mixed tags and intergender wrestling there.

Sonny could have wrestled Abadon. Jade Cardgill, Leila Grey, Red Velvet, Kiera Hogan (during or after the storyline of the inevitable split of the Baddies) Kris Statlander. Penelope Ford. Trish Adora. To name a few.

Take a chance on the women’s division. Dare to be different.

Show more interest in what could be.
