Rewatched the Ark. Have a cold. I promised myself that the next time I got sick, I would binge Atlantis, but I can't handle the energy level of all the emotions. Lol. So I just watched this one. It's so fun. I love that Janus knew Sheppard wouldn't leave Teyla behind. He bet over a 1000 souls on Sheppard's inability to abandon his team. It was a safe bet. Lorne is great. Rodney is absolutely the best with his whining and sarcasm and then taking care of everyone and being worried. Also, I loved Weir just sending help no questions asked. She's so great.

This is just one of those really solid team episodes like Sateda and Inferno.

one beautifully done thing in terms of characterization in hannibal, is the way that hannibal was never able to successfully turn will against jack. i think hannibal tried very hard to convince will that jack was an enemy, doing his best to steer will into a perspective that would make killing jack in the end all the more easy, but jack is and was until the very end of the show BEDROCK and also a good man, and will saw that from the start. despite everything hannibal did in an effort to make jack the object of will's ire, he was never successful and i think that's a solid way to portray the sheer respect jack and will have for each other. will's decision to go over the edge with hannibal may have been a betrayal to jack in that one act, but i think ultimately the broken and the rebuilt trust they had for each other is the true test of esteem

At the risk of making the same joke I made the first time I watched the show...I can't believe we switched over from a dinosaur show to robots. Who would do that. That seems like a mistake. Taking your dinosaur cartoon and then having robots.

There is soooo much in this beat, from the literal lampshading going on between the lamp and Lestat's tie being the same colour (incredible mise en scene), to Louis trying to downplay the fact that he went to an opera and enjoyed it, to Lestat's look of betrayal at that downplaying, to Paul immediately seeing that as leverage around Louis' sexuality and Louis and Lestat's relationship, and just !! Mess! I love it!

Y'know Nathan Explosion is an unexpected fave character of mine and I dunno if this is a hot take, but I think the reason he's the ONLY one without deep-seated psychological issues due to childhood trauma but is still Like That is because he's autistic. His special interest is metal 🤘
