Cora Novoa ft Bryte - Gogo Gaga Premiered on FACT Magazine
“Spanish producer and DJ Cora Novoa joins forces with Ghanaian MC Bryte, a propulsive fusion of their energetic styles. Layering restless kicks and blizzards of noise against Bryte’s nimble delivery and irrepressible vibe, Cora Novoa matches the rapper’s vocal levity with bludgeoning weight and atmospheric dept, revealing yet another side to the multi-faceted MC.
The video, directed by Benova Studio, sees the duo bopping around some of Barcelona’s rave institutions, including Razzmatazz, the club wear brand SSSTUFFF headquarters and THEROOM concept store. Capturing a snapshot of Barcelona’s nightlife scene, ‘Gogo Gaga’ is a homage to these shared spaces.
As part of the track’s release, Cora Novoa is launching a competition calling on producers to remix ‘Gogo Gaga’. Those interested in taking part mint a free NFT from Web3 community GUZZU, which will serve as the platform for release of the winning entry, selected by Cora Novoa herself.
‘Gogo Gaga’ is out now, on Seeking The Velvet. You can find Cora Novoa on Instagram and at her website. You can follow Bryte on Instagram.”

Tiga b2b Cora Novoa at Sónar Festival 30th Anniversary
“Whether it's because of the years they've been in the music business, their almost unhealthy obsession with new music, or the amount of demos that pass through their hands, this back-to-back between Canada’s Tiga and Spain’s Cora Novoa might be prove to be one of the most memorable sets at Sónar’s 30th anniversary. In the red corner, Tiga, head of Turbo Recordings and one of the most respected electronic producers and DJs of the last 20 years. And in the blue corner, Cora Novoa, producer, DJ and label owner herself (SEEKING THE VELVET), currently on tour with a new AV live show. She’s also released music on Turbo Recordings, as well as Citizen Records and Hivern Discs. The early hours of the morning will be theirs to do what they like with: house, techno, acid, trance, rave, and even eurodance. A pairing as unpredictable as it is unbeatable.”

Three albums and 10 EPs into her career, Cora Novoa has released on Henry Saiz’s Natura Sonoris and John Talabot’s Hivern Discs as well as running her own Seeking The Velvet, which is designed to seek out Barcelona’s new vibrant, creative talent. She was the first woman to collect the Best DJ award at 2017’s Vicious Music Awards in Spain and has a fantastic live AV show that enthrals all who hear it. Cora Novoa - Mental Diary (ACT 2)
“The Producer and DJ from Galicia Cora Novoa is releasing “The Art of Losing”, the second act of her trilogy “Mental Diary”, a three-part album created totally analogically that narrates metaphorically where the artist is right now.
Whilst the first act, released last November, is about the obsession that humans have with overcoming pain and fears, the second act is about feelings of loss. Inspired by the poem “One Art” by the North American poet Elizabeth Bishop, this second part of the trilogy explores the concept of the end. Universal concepts such as love, death and loss are also taken to a physical dimension, are we ready for this? The second act of “Mental Diary” takes the depth of Bishop’s words into the realms of music.
“The art of losing isn’t hard to master;
so many things seem filled with the intent
to be lost that their loss is no disaster”
Elizabeth Bishop “The Art of Losing”
The central track, called “State of Mind” “the phenomenon whereby the universe's very existence is made known” in the words of the British mathematician Roger Penrose, was chosen to be part of the project “Sónar Calling GJ273b”, the first radio message ever in to be sent to a potentially habitable exoplanet, which the Barcelona festival Sónar launched to mark its 25th anniversary.
Moreover, “State of Mind” is the track that was chosen for a video that is directed by Alex Gargot. Through a dark and disturbing atmosphere the video tells the story of the loss of a child from the perspective of a totally devastated mother. With the aim to give continuity to the story and to give the project a storyline, this new video features some of the characters who appeared in the video of the first act. The millennial imagery and the urban and post-internet aesthetics are also part of the visual language in this new release, central theme of which is loss.
This second act will be released in a limited edition cassette, with special packaging and a poster, all carefully designed to expand the creative and visual language of the first release. And, for the first time, the release of the single is accompanied by a collection of limited edition t-shirts designed by the Swiss streetwear creative project Hässig, a brand that suits Cora Novoa’s imagery and visual language perfectly.
“Mental Diary” was presented live in the Tate-Modern in London, at Mutek Montreal and at the Magnetic Fields Festival in India. During this year Novoa will tour Europe, Latin America and Asia, and the third part of her trilogy will be released”

Cora Novoa - Mental Diary (ACT 1)
“The Galician producer and DJ, Cora Novoa, is releasing “Our Words have brought us this far. Only our actions will take us further”, the first act of her trilogy, “Mental Diary”. The three acts are emotionally connected through the narrative structure, which is based on the Aristotelian style of composition.
“Mental Diary” is a mental journal that recounts the artist’s life experiences over the past year, a metaphor for the personal and professional changes that led her to experiment with a darker and colder form of composition. The album’s three acts were developed completely analogically between London and Barcelona and are based on the use of modular synthesizers and drum machines. Their use invokes a bleak landscape and reflects Novoa’s characteristic sound.
The first act, which will be released  on November 23, speaks of humanity’s fascination with overcoming pain and fear. Based on the premise that “our words have brought us this far. Only our actions will take us further,” the first part of the trilogy is inspired by the historical suffering of the Polish people and speaks to the survival of the individual through hope and overcoming fear. This gabber-style techno appeals to the most human and primary of actions: rebirth.
Novoa was responsible for all parts of the project’s creation. In addition to developing the album’s music, she crafted both the storytelling and creative direction, developing a strong visual language and imagery reflected in each of the project’s different elements.
This first act, released  by Novoa’s label, Seeking the Velvet, will be published as a limited edition cassette, complete with special packaging and a description about the project that extends the first act’s creative and visual language. The track “Russian Bells” features a video clip that showcases the beauty and influence of the Eastern European countries’ aesthetic. In tandem with the first act’s release, a capsule collection of t-shirts inspired by the album will also go on sale.
The Galician artist recently premiered “Mental Diary” live at Tate-Modern London and Mutek Montreal. Novoa will kickoff the world tour for the new album in January 2019, with the publication of the two remaining acts soon to follow”
