Ok, I'm apparently in such a state that Iroh's story from the Tales of Ba Sing Se episode. Made me cry.
Watched this episode who knows how many times. I know exactly what would happen. But it sure is the first time I've watched this episode since several major deaths in my life.
God. I'm not used to being this emotionally affected by things.

-_____- ive been wanting to wait until i have like much better insurance when my permanent position comes thru but i might just cave and make a dr's appointment for my. ongoing ear infection thats been on-and-off for like. years at this point
#its been worse the past few days and im like grrrrrrr#i might as well get a starting appointment with a new pcp. cause like i feel like they usually need to see you with a new patient appt#before you get into any like. actual problems you might have. and might want to like.. see a doctor for#which i understand on some level but thats kind of crazy to me#last time i went to a doctor for this ear thing he was shocked because he gave me 2 different steroids to treat it#and neither of them worked on my ear. he was like yuuuup thats still red and swollen on the inside. huh weird#and he gave me some eardrops for it which also didnt work#so im like what now. i USED to think it was due to the pressure from my sideways wisdom tooth pressing on that ear canal#and honestly getting them removed DID seem to help for awhile. and i was like ahh that fixed it ... but it came back like a year later#so now im like now what. i feel like i might need an ear specialist at this point#but i'll wait and see what a new doctor has to say about my ears and how we go about treating it i guess#the place i get obgyn at has pcps which is like a pretty good place.#i was looking for someone specifically trans knowledgeable but i might just cave and go there#cause i do trust that place with my health now#it MIGHT just be that my ear canals are shaped poorly which makes it like. condusive to getting infections#which like. well what do i do about that i guess. ummmmmm ....??#i could believe that cause parts of my body are shaped a lil funny due to like. my birth circumstances#i have bones doctors have hemmed and hawed over if they were broken like huh????#and they bascially were like wait ohhh you were born with bones shaped weird. lol#you cant really tell just from looking at my hands if i dont show you but my hands are shaped like curved outwards from one another#people think im doing a gross-out party trick when i show them and theyre like eww stooop but im like thats just my hands LOL

The thing about Solas in DAtV is that because they were fundamentally unwilling to engage with the question of whether or not the Veil should actually come down (which is a symptom of them refusing to engage with anything remotely 'problematic' in the franchise to date: slavery, elven oppression, treatment of both city elves and Dalish etc.) he goes from a character who is supposed to be the embodiment of wisdom to a character who is kinda stupid. And further, it affects our questions surrounding his motives and relationships, his actions in inquisition and how compelling he is.
Like, there's a lot of people arguing ATM about whether or not a romanced Lavellans relationship with Solas was meaningful/if she knew him compared to how Rook knows him/if he loved her more than Mythal. And I think the answer is very tied up in this particular issue with the writing.
Because if Solas is a revolutionary who believes that the veil must come down, not just to fix a perceived wrong he did, but for the good of elvenkind...if we take a Solas who says 'people are always dying, it's what they do' and realise that he's saying that because PEOPLE DIDNT USED TO DIE and the way their lives are now so short is terrifying to him, if we take a Solas who says that the world today is full of those who seem tranquil to him and take that SERIOUSLY, if we get a Solas who is sickened by the way spirits are yearning for the world the way it was but are stuck in the fade without any contact and that's twisting them into demons and those willing to possess others to taste a glimpse of what was denied to them by HIS actions...
Then we get a Solas whose actions don't just make sense but we can see WHY they make sense. We get a Solas who is, yes, committing an act of horrendous violence by tearing down the veil but is doing so to literally save the world rather than just fix a regret or because he's bound up in Mythal somehow and what she would have wanted for the world.
THAT Solas who leaves Lavellan because of his revolution he must lead, who leaves Lavellan after seeing what this world does to those who are left of the people, that Solas...I think that we could then argue more than the relationships he formed in inquisition were real and he was tragically forced away from them by his own goals. That in some way he is doing this FOR Lavellan.
There should be a sort of semi-horror tint to this world for us through Solas's eyes because we can see a world of tranquil walking around like he does, a world where life is too short, a world of injustice and pain and reasons to go ahead with his plan
But Solas....kinda lacks agency in DAtV. I don't hate the Solas Mythal plot stuff I think it's quite interesting, but mix it with us never considering the merits of what Solas wants to do, of EVERYONE unilaterally deciding it's evil with no real debate or queries, with ZERO elves in the narrative siding with Solas or taking what he has to say seriously...THATS where adding the Solas and Mythal plot rubs me the wrong way. I don't want Solas to need to be released by Mythal before he can let go of his evil plan...I want a Solas who doesn't have an evil plan but instead a complex one. I want the conviction of Anders in Solas; that what he's doing is RIGHT and the ONLY WAY to fix a great injustice. I don't want to redeem Solas or even understand him I want him to CONVINCE me and me BELIEVE him. Otherwise the Solas we see in inquisition is more shallow and the Solas we see in Veilguard through Rook...maybe Rook does know him better than the inquisition did.

That very short scene where Neytiri tries to talk to Kiri while they were preparing food could have been such a touching and vivid mother daughter interaction with so much hidden meaning but was severely undercut by Jake's evesdropping, Neytiri's sheer lack of dialouge, and the breivity of the scene.
All Neytiri said was initially asking Kiri what was wrong then just saying her name in pity after she revealed that she felt so different from everyone else. Then the scene was over after literally ~15 seconds. This was a really important scene for Kiri's character development since it introduces what she feels about her ultimate role in the film (and happens before her seizure). It was also important for the character development of both Kiri and Neytiri because a lot could be revealed about Kiri's temperment and morals from her reactions to Neytiri's words, and vice versa.
I think it would have made more sense for Jake to have the 15 second scene and for Neytiri to have the scene with Kiri at the dock because Neytiri just makes more sense to recieve spiritual observations and the affects it has on her daughter's feelings of isolation:
Kiri revealing perceptions of Eywa deep within her would have been compatible with Neytiri's future role as tsahìk and her own established belief in Eywa. Neytiri would understand moreso than Jake what Kiri was feeling spiritually and physically, and even help interpret Kiri's perceptions by using her wisdom and faith to better validate her and futher establish Eywa as a real, significant force to the audience.
Having Jake as the one who consoles Kiri in the introduction to her identity crisis wasnt as compatable because Jake's belief in Eywa didnt come until after he changd in A1, and in A2 it was less expressed and less consistent (like when Jake took Norm's scientific interpretation of Kiri's visions as symptoms of pathology). In cannon, when he asked Kiri those questions about what she felt, it felt more like things you say to someone to make them feel heard, rather than genuine belief in what they were saying.
Neytiri also would have been better able to understand Kiri as her mother, and as another female person. Mothers often see themselves in their daughters because their shared traits and behaviors are a reflection of their own childhoods. Women are more keen to girlhood, too, since women experienced the same puberty, and had similar social navigation as young female people. I dont remember her demeanor in Adapt or Die, but perhaps Neytiri could see her kid self (or even Sylwanin) in Kiri for feeling eccentric, and for feeling Eywa differently than others (similarly to how she had to defend her feeling Eywa's prescence to Tsu'tey in order to spare a tawtute in A1). Neytiri certainly could have seen herself in Kiri, a girl distressed from displacement and in isolation from her peers; she, too, was in a position of stress from being isolated from her People and her Native home, surrounded by hostile strangers, and struggling to maintain peace with her own family in dire circmstances (in A1, she was possibly isolated by getting too sympathetic to Jake and oher reasons, though we can only speculate this).
Instead of an emphasis on the Jesus-esque mystery of her origins in a question to her father figure about her father, Neytiri could have reassured Kiri that the spiritual energy she felt was important and real, while validating her feelings of isolation and inner turmoil as a normal and relatable experience of girlhood because she saw herself in her daughter and understood her as her mother. Hell, we didnt necessarily have to lose Kiri's dilema about her paternal origins since that was a big question that would have been relevant to Jake, and men in the audience. Kiri being a spiritual person would have likely told Jake about what she felt eventually because he's her dad, even if Jake didnt believe them the same way but still wanted to support his daughter. But I just feel we got next to none of that balance and consideration in the movie.
Lastly, I think the intimacy of the food preparation between Neytiri and Kiri was an element that had lots of potential for subtle metaphors as well as a medium that would be familiar and important to women and girls. I could see Neytiri teaching Kiri about self acceptance and finding her niche through food metaphors. They were using leaves to pack or wrap an item, and even though it wasnt clear if the leaves were an edible part, Neytiri could have taken the wrapping elements of their task and exemplified in her handwork and quality of the foodstuff how precious and unique Kiri is and how she has to be patient with accepting herself.
Food and food prep have very social implications for all peoples, and would likely be very important for hunter gatherer/fishing cultures, so having a moment of food prepartation was a narrative choice that would make sense in the cultural context, but also because food prep and cooking is heavily associated with women and mothers. Women are often innovators of home cooking, in charge of gathering, and possibly even innovators of the first agricultural practices. Spiritually, food is associated with goddesses because of the metephorical and literal ways food sustains fertility and provided nurturing. So the layers of metaphors would likely have reverberated with female audiences in a way thats not necessarily misogynistic.
But we barely got to see what they were preparing, what it was they were doing, how they felt about it, and why we needed to see it at all other than to establish that they needed to be together for their scene, which was unfortunate as we lost submersive elements of the culture they were learning, and what the characters felt beyond what the plot needed to advance.
What bothered me most about this particular scene, though, wasnt just the brievity of it, considering this is a nearly 3 hr film, it was Jake's eavesropping:
His male oversight on Neytiri and Kiri's mother-daughter moment was upsetting on my second view because they werent dignified a private, touching moment with each other for women and girls to relate to solely. It had to have literal male oversight for some reason. Jake being visably shown in the scene to listen in on their conversation was invasive and unfair since we didnt get the equivalent of Neytiri evesdropping on him and Kiri when they had their scene together. After Aounung, Rutxo, Ronal, etc set the tone that she was a "freak", Kiri became notably withdrawn and her tone and body language visably indicated frustration and sadness, so both parents could have easily picked up on Kiri's mental health seperately, and had their seperate scenes connecting to her that women, men, and girls could relate to.
TL;DR: On my second watch, Neytiri and Kiri's scene together was so noticably short and abruptly ended that it felt itw as cut to make room for the next scene with Jake and Kiri. I counted the seconds it lasted by scrubbing back to it twice to confirm its miniscule timing of ~15 seconds. Neytiri's lack of dialouge greatly exposed how neglected her character was, and Kiri telling Jake rather than Neytiri about her spiritual connection to Eywa revealed how hamfisted the introduction elements to Kiri's character arc was. This scene also highlighted how interactions between female characters in AWOW were overshadowed by male-led scenes or oversight, or were simply too brief to carry much weight to the plot or development for their characters. Lastly, this scene exposed how much we missed out on layered metaphors for characterization and cultural submersion from neglected use of the world around them as important elements of their interactions.

hello there, i've being a saezuru fan since chapter 15 was realized and i've been following the tumblr posts since then as well, this is the first time i actually commented anywhere on tumblr about it! :)
i'm saying this for a reason by the way stay with me :)
ive being expecting this chapter for like a month and ive reread everything from the beginning and i will encourage you to do the same as i understand better the relationship of doumeki and yashiro but also the plot of the yakuza story line, the time frame of the story in the story and the actual time frame of the manga being posted is consider always when creating the next chapter. i mean there is a time dilation and that somehow dilates the understanding of the story! i know that you probably are like dahh we know sis.
BUT i came to an expectation of chapter 51 that was accurate somehow, because i knew that their relationship was never expressed by them with WORDS, and even if they used words (like sharing secrets to each other in the very beginning of the story) is because they showed trust and affection to each other by flirting, especially yashiro to doumeki in the beginning chaptes his like - i can do so much to you babes, let me show you what i can do to you babes omg your so cute! -
There is a silence in their conversation, that it is known that it says i love you. it was always like that from the beginning and thats why i love saezuru that much and yoneda for creating it, i didnt saw that anywhere else so far in a manga, i only saw the words and the common confessions to convey that.
i dont expect a confession i dont see the need for that, she choose to make yashiro kick doumeki to show how concerned he was about him (i love you why did you do that to yourself, i wanted you to be safe) and doumeki let him kick him although he is bigger than him and could easily stop him and all he did was grab him gentle by the wrist and looked at him( i love you i will always love i did this because i can protect you and i will protect you).
also there is no way that doumeki doesn't love yashiro or he is with someone else is yoneda trying to create anxiety on you and she is succeeding lol, she is aware of her fanbase and she is also aware of pleasing us and displeasing us.
i would like to hear your thought and opinions guys!:)
Hi there! Wow, you’ve been here very long! Thank you for your first public Saezuru comment and sharing some of your wisdom :) Well put, I agree with everything you said! Rereading the manga before new chapters come out is always so helpful because it puts things into a proper perspective.
You’re so right, they did flirt a lot in the beginning. They talked so much about their personal lives, and shared so many thoughts and ideas with each other. They also showed so much interest in the other; they didn’t just talk about themselves, they actually cared about the other person. It’s these simple gestures, the pauses - the acceptance, that convey romantic feelings. YK uses body language, dynamics, reactions, and everything in between to show the progression of Yashiro and Doumeki’s relationship. Sometimes there are brief internal monologues and confessions, but those parts are used to supplement what was already conveyed and understood through non-verbal storytelling.
It’s true, a confession isn’t always necessary. The impact of character development often goes down the toilet when you just have two characters in a room making one confession after another. Words don’t change opinions, actions do. Saying something is great, but what value does it have? What impact does it make if it’s not backed up by some tangible actions? Who’s going to believe you? If Doumeki told Yashiro, “I don’t want you to see Kido, because I don’t like how he treats you,” would that leave the same impact as throwing a grown man across a room and picking your lover off the floor? Portraying action is proof, but words are empty by nature.
That being said, I do think Yashiro and Doumeki will have an honest conversation eventually, otherwise it would leave a void. I know I just said words are empty by nature, but when you follow up an act with an explanation, you ascribe meaning and significance to it. If there is no meaning ascribed to behaviour, it could make people question the importance and validity of it. So, words are still important to solidify and clarify the significance and meaning of actions. Perhaps, the order of those two is important in good storytelling.
Oh YK would drop a golden apple into a room and watch the girlies fight over it for sureee. Love her though, would follow her into a cult

closure is how he treats you when youre upset, how he communicates with you when things are rough, how he would rather break up with you than hold himself accountable, the fact that he is so immature, i understand youre going to do what you want to do regardless and its your learning curve and your lesson but stuff like this can turn into an abusive, toxic thing before you even know and its not cute. i dated someone this year for around a month and it was pretty much my first experience dating someone and he came in with a bunch of red flags that i was willingly overseeing, then one night i caught a text from a girl on his phone while he was sleeping and i instantly new what that was. i grabbed my things and went home and never saw him again. i blocked and unblocked him a few times and responded to his messages here and there even though i wanted to ignore him. and then like a week went by where he willingly didnt text me and i realized how disgusting disrespect is and that i have too much pride within myself to subject myself to an experience so low and trashy like that. and a man that can love me with his whole heart wont disrespect me in a way that could hurt me or possibly end things. disrespect cant coexist with love. i changed my number and have never seen him again, pretty sure he is out of my country anyway, sometimes it hurts still but you get over it and you will feel so proud and confident of letting something like that behind. youre telling yourself youre worth so much more when you close certain doors and its true. take the pain and turn it into wisdom
ig in my head rn one time is a problem but twice would be a pattern and it's only happened once so there's hope i haven't let go of and even with how mean he's been there just more to it. and even the homophobia is so much more complicated in ways that i don't feel comfortable sharing publicly about him, but what i will say is that it's all internalized from what he's been told. and it's not my place to heal him or change him but depending on how seeing him goes i might give him one more chance to stay in my life with much, much, more firm boundaries if he isn't actually leaving the country permanently. i still want to support him because i can't stop seeing the good and all the hurt in him. i want him to grow so badly.

oh and like. last thing ill say on here bc i have to go back to doing school stuff and later tonight ill answer the v sweet messages yall send me (thank u 🧡)
but since ive been talking a lot abt psychadelics and the good and bad parts of them, i should probably say that psychadelics arent exactly a "fast track" or magic thing to reaching spiritual enlightenment or something
yes, it happens very often that even hard-line atheists will take shrooms or acid and have some life-changing experience and from that point on believe in divinity or the oneness of everything or become rather spiritual and religious, or that ppl will turn their entire lives around for the better. yes, you can have experience which make you very much feel, see, and become the oneness of everything - ego death moments when you understand oneness of god to a crazy level; others say they have seen crazy glimpses of the face of god. yes, im pretty sure that - despite not really believing in this concept before - psychadelics showed me what is meant by the idea of eternal death and rebirth, and what it means to kill your ego and be freed from the cycle; moksha. yes i understand religious teachings infinately better than i did before, even tho ive been obsessed with theology since i was a little kid, and when i reached my preteens i really got into studying it. yes they can make you much more empathetic and open and also theres a chance if you didnt before, youll start believing in things like telepathy or asteal projection or animism afterwards. yes, they can remove the fear of death from you, you can understand what it is to "die before you die" as the sufis say. yes, they can probably prepare you for what death may be like
..... but thats not like,,,, "reaching enlightenment" per say. firstly each intense psych. experience like that, you should spend some weeks, months, or years pondering on and integreating into your personality and life. and the true spiritual enlightenment is being able to live your life, consistently, by those teachings, experience, and moments - which is hard, and requires much patience, wisdom, sacrifice, willingness, and the further acquisition of knowledge. god damn even after all these years and how strong my conviction is about many things, i still v much struggle with this, i am no shaman or mystic or guru. i still struggle with hopelessness, desperation, ego, i forget what was taught and spiral again ... id also say, similarly, true spiritual enlightenment is afterwards being able to reach and understand such states outside of the help of psychadelics
.......... and i think its something to be careful with too. you know that idea from hinduism - not the new age crap the actual idea - of kundelini awakening? of what happens when the divine energy and power which flows through you - is awakened suddenly, but before youve really reached the ability to be able to handle it spirituality? it is said it can drive you mad, drive you insane (frankly deep divine experiences will drive anyone a little insane tho, inevitable, psychadelics or not), that it can make your body hurt and ache and collapse under it, because it is not ready, it is too much, too fast..... there are those who say this has very much happened or is happening to them, and it can be very hard. this concept very much applies
not in all cases, but in some. deep psychadelic experiences, spiritual of divine ones, sometimes they do not feel gentle at all. sometimes they do, for some, and i am happy for them. but they can be painful, terrifying, beautiful, loving, but it can feel like being burned alive to be clensed while simultaneously feeling healed and protected, or like having every atom in your body ripped apart and spread across time and space - guess thats why kali is portrayed as being so terrifying.... it can indeed be hard to handle
ay, as i said before, theyre not snake oil. theyre not a one time magic pill fix everything. psychadelics are a tool which may help you, but they require and demand much personal effort, work, care and deep respect

Indeed!
(I drafted this a while ago and just. Forgot to post it. Oh well. Better late than never).
And really I think the unease between Lucifer and Samael comes down to their powers and the time they've known each other and the world.
Lucifer was the first demon, god, angel or devil to ever incarnate. He is well and truly f-ing ancient. Granted he has not spent the bulk of that time in Assiah, because his vessels only last a decade or so, but he has been around long enough and popped up often enough to possess more names than any other, if the widespread worship of light and sun deities is any indication. He is completely delusional ofc, and has a wildly distorted view of both reality and human beings, in no small part because of his longevity I imagine, but he is nonetheless The Eldest.
But only chronologically.
Samael is the god of Time and space. His chronological age is probably extremely varied, and therefore uncountable. His non-chronological, collective age is also immeasurable, but likely puts him leages ahead of Lucifer; if you added up all the years Samael had ever existed from the time of his very first incarnation he would likely be The Eldest One without contest.
But more so than his age from incarnation, Samael has existed in Assiah longer than any other God or demon. He has lived among humans the longest, lived in their company and played by their rules the longest, and without question understands them best, objectively and relatively speaking. Lucifer himself acknowledged, with disdain, that Samael had "been here" longer than him because he was "privileged" with a vessel that took a long time to decay.
But Lucifer is Narcissistic with a capital N and deluded, and doesnt believe Samael knows what he's on about - a typical Narc thing - and also refuses to accept he is anything but the top dog.
(Which is ironic, cause he definitely gives off bottom vibes when he wants people to like him)
And because he doesn't have Samael's wisdom about how things work in Assiah, he resorts to being a bully and stealing that knowledge from secondhand sources before touting it as his own, most likely. You see him do this with his own men; to me it seems spiteful in a way, turning to others when his brother is a source of valuable intel - but at the same time, Loki is a trickster and has probably pulled the wool over Lucifer's eyes before, soooooo I can't totally blame him.
All this to reiterate a point I've made before - that even if they didnt have millennia of knowing each other, compounded by the number of timelines Samael has been in, their respective powers are at odds with each other and there is no way that does not factor into things with this sort of interaction.
You see, Samael is bully-proof. His personality is bully-proof, yes, but so are his powers; he has the best defensive abilities of any King, what with his ability to distort space and create impervious barriers, to say nothing of teleportation, and time manipulation to allow him ideal timing. His offensive abilities, which we haven't seen much of, are probably nothing to scoff at either, but we have seen him hold Lucifer off with a threatening - looking space distortion that he dare not touch until it was already about to collapse; and since Samael is Mr. Contingency Plan i am doubtless sure that he has some other Lucifer-specific offenses.
Point being, Lucifer can't just have a pity party tantrum and throw his weight around and expect to get anywhere with Samael. No, no, that just makes him petty and vindictive - not the smoothest course to take with a trickster who knows more about you than you could ever know about yourself. No, acting like a bully is not the right course of action for getting someone like Samael to do what you want. Threats work short-term, but ultimately Lucifer can only coerce Samael by convincing him it's in his better interest to play along.
Which is why I think his Suicide shtick is a bluff. A big, fat bluff, because Samael flat out won't cooperate unless his own life is on the line. And assuming the theory that the Ego Death of one god is the death of them all, then that might be the only legitimate way Lucifer has of threatening to kill his brother. Cause otherwise Samael is too sharp and tricky with his knowledge and power to manipulate. Assuming Light is immune to Time, but not Space or Gravity, then if Samael wanted to seal Lucifer's powers, at least temporarily, he could probably do so, and wreck Lucifer's shit in the meantime.
And so the two mob bosses are at a steep impasse, in perpetuity, because if they did ever duke it out they both would perish and all the world with them; nothing any other king could do would stop them except maaaaaybe Azazel - who I assume to be a kind of neutral peace keeper between those two, a wise younger brother who stays out of things until he has to break up a fight. (This based on his other likely incarnations as the god of Spirits and Wind). But he isn't there anymore, so the big boys have to play nice - meaning, ofc, that Samael has to play nice and be the Big Boy because Lucifer is never going to.
All this culminating in a rather loose division of loyalties if you ask me. Lucifer might be the mouthpiece, but Samael has the trousers here; the rest of the Kings at that table know it. They probably don't like Samael much - he does have a wretched tendency to make himself unlikable on purpose - but he commands respect in a way Lucifer simply does not. Lucifer might be more amicable on the surface, but he rules through fear, and commands obedience through bully tactics. So I feel like his siblings loyalty to him is actually rather shallow, which is why when Samael tells them to do something, they listen without argument, even though it makes Lucifer look like a dancing bear in comparison.
That isn't to say Samael doesn't resort to bully tactics, he absolutely does, with Amaimon especially; but Samael is already so feared by default that he does not need to push that envelope, and if he ever did, he would rather you didn't see it coming. Throwing his weight around is reserved for only the most severe offenses, and should anyone be so unlucky as to push him that far, then nothing can be done to save them anyway.
No; Samael doesn't care if his siblings like him, and he hardly has to scare them into behaving except when Dumbasses decide to ignore the pecking order - then it's a simple snap and done, rather than a big spectacle. His knowledge makes him dangerous, but also very wise.
I suspect that part of what drove Samael and Lucifer into this bitter rivalry was because Samael knew how to earn genuine respect better than Lucifer ever did.
I just love scenes where multiple Baal are talking because holy shit the dysfunction is INSANE.
When Lucifer's in the room, nobody but Mephisto has the balls to say anything unless directly spoken to, and even then it's just one-word answers because their stinky corpse brother is a literal bomb and could kill them all with an eye-blink if he felt like it.
Like everyone's sitting there thinking 'if I shut the fuck up and don't look at him maybe I'll live'.
And then there's Mephisto casually talking to the bomb like he won't get wrecked if he says a word wrong, terrifying everyone.
Lucifer is the one family member nobody can ever relax around and who just constantly makes passive-aggressive remarks and threats that everyone just takes because they're shit scared of what will happen if they don't. Lucifer is the Mob Relative.
Mephisto is that one family member who just doesn't give a shit and says what he likes in front of the terrifying family member, terrifying everyone else more because they just know shit is going to go DOWN, but not when, so everybody has to be on edge the entire evening, side-eyeing them and just waiting for a fight to kick off. Nobody has the guts to tell them to leave, because that will only make the fight to happen sooner with themselves in it. Mephisto is the Other Mob Relative.
Amaimon is the family member who doesn't say anything unless spoken to, partly out of fear, and also partly because he's got food crammed in his mouth. Everyone is more than happy to keep him by the buffet because they're terrified he will say something that makes a fight happen.
Nothing good or healthy can come out of this demon mafia family!

okay i did the sumeru archon quests almost a week ago :) so here's my thoughts:
Tumblr media
nahida thoughts:
i'm surprised that people have said that rukkha and kusa aren't the same person when they... literally are?
i understand the whole "tree, branch, replant" analogy that they used but it's pretty obvious when kusanali and dottore chat with each other
like in the same way that we acknowledge each of the doctor's segments to ultimately still be the same person, dottore; kusanali is branch (read: a segment) of rukkhadevata (specifically the "purest" branch: the one that wasn’t afflicted with withering, the one that closest to the prime avatar of irminsul [read: rukkhadevata])
and even the whole 'dottore erasing his segments' thing was a parallel to irminsul erasing rukkhadevata. because having two (or multiple) beings of the same nature goes against the laws of wisdom in teyvat — which kind of makes me wonder if thats why one twin isn't labelled the same as the other even though they both were in khaenri'ah and originally came to the world together
i'm curious as to why kusanali is still "lesser lord" if there was never a "greater lord" in everyones memories - either it's another instance that irminsul can’t be completely changed (like the balladeer/wanderer's situation) or she's just "lesser" because she's not as powerful as she used to be and lost her memories
which isn't even that weird considering rukkhadevata literally did that during the deshret thing as seen in kasala's memories (though probably without the memory loss) it makes me wonder how many samsaras and avatars irminsul has had?
Tumblr media
cyno thoughts:
uncle anpu??? why is the village chief not related to cyno when cyno has so many anubis associations and anubis is also named anpu 😔
okay but seriously did y'all see the way he just stared and lingered in kasala's tomb?? i really can’t tell if he's a descendant of kasala, his reincarnation, or maybe the "temple of silence" affiliation that he has was just the group of priests in general and their descendants
and i especially find it interesting how he personally seemed to contemplate a lot more than anyone else when he found out that kusanali is an active god. and after irminsul was changed so that rukkha's life is credited to kusa, he says "it has always been my duty to protect you"
always? before the irminsul thing, he never thought much about her at all. ***unless he's saying that as a priest of rukkha, now being a "priest" of kusa*** (wink wink)
anyways i love him, he's great. just wished he cared more about the desert people considering he's from the desert
Tumblr media
other thoughts:
i thought shouki no kami would be a lot harder but instead the fatui before getting to him was the hardest thing
dottore really just left scara without a second thought rip
alhaitham i love you but i can not believe you didn’t take the grand sage role (though honestly i think that role should belong solely to nahida)
i didnt particularly care about dunyarzad like most people did
the samsara thing was so cool
nilou i love you, you're precious
dehya really just left at the end - i get that she's a mercenary but still
dori was completely unimportant rip- honestly candace was too

-“you were looking for another good word to describe me, right? Well I consider myself quite daring” I love her
-STOP I FORGOT HE DIDNT KNOW HARROW WAS DEAD
-I’m serious if he never gots to read Harrow’s letter to him I’m done
-is Ellis gonna be with them from now on because I have no complaints
-well at least Viren doesn’t look like a zombie anymore
-“You’re out of order, Lord Viren. Only a king or queen can call for a summit” I totally forgot her name but this girl is awesome
-Phoe-Phoe is literally so pretty like I want her as a pet

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-going out on a limb here but I think he’s gonna learn magic guys lol
-Note to self: the old elf lady’s name is Lujanne
-ah yes the classic “I overheard someone else’s advice and decided that it also applies to my situation” love to see it
-the Crow Master seems like a cool guy ngl, even the nameless characters are the best
-ok I get that she’s trying to tell him the truth but like I think he knows he’s human you can stop rubbing it in
-I’m sorry but the way she just picked a rose then dramatically passed out was so funny
Episode 2
-yay the sparkly hands are back!
-“are we gonna fight or is this a talent show” HAHAHAHAH
-“I keep telling people, “sweep the leg” is not a thing in sword fighting!” hehehehe
-Gren is so chill about being in this dungeon
-FINALLY some has an appropriate freak out response to Zym’s cuteness
-someone make this a meme
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Soren feeling really guilty one second and convincing himself he’s doing something good the next is actually really sad I feel so bad for him
-Claudia’s appearance makes her look super cool and dangerous but really she’s just some magic geek who loves cute animals and I love that for her
-she actually has a point like we kill bugs all the time why not get some use out of it
-so like it’s obvious that Callum is gonna learn to do magic on his own the question is does he learn because he finds a way to understand it like Lujanne was saying or does he have some elf in his bloodline or something
-the fact that the main character’s unrealistic crush is usually really cold to them and doesn’t like them but Callum and Claudia are literally besties rn is so refreshing like yes more of this
-has Rayla been just stalking them this whole time they were hanging out like where has she been
-“I can see you believe it. But I’ve known Soren and Claudia for years. You and I don’t have that yet” dang.
-when Soren said “I took no joy in that” after Claudia brought up the zip line and the way he says it sounds like it’s supposed to be funny when really it’s the truth
-“I’m glad my wisdom helped”
“It didn’t, it was wrong”
“Was it? Or was it just differently true?”
Imma start using this whenever someone disagrees with me
-am I supposed to recognize the place in the mirror
-hold up are Callum and Claudia less far in age than I thought cause what was that
-“I know what happened, he’s gone” I knew this was coming so why am I crying

How would you rewrite Avatar the Way of Water?
Ooh good question. My answer will evolve overtime, and i need to rewatch the movie a few times and read more reviews from critics and fans to really be comprehensive about my answer, but to start out briefly, I'll bullet point which parts Id rewrite in a different direction or take out entirely:
First act introducing family dynamics - it felt so incredibly rushed. I was really anticipating the return to the forest, expositions about new Omaticaya territory and their culture. I wanted to see how the kids would learn to be Omatikaya for act 1, but we just got short montages of vague locations and implications of "normalcy" before their major displacement again. It didnt feel like enough and it felt like a lot of the lore from Avatar media were overlooked for brief visual immersion. So I would have at least written Jake narrating a longer montage of how the boys and girls grew up learning customs and coming of age rituals/ceremonies. I would include at least a short snippet of how they slowly progressed in appearence from infancy to teenagehood/childhood (like in a fading montage of their bodies and faces aging) so we could better establish their faces, understand their personalities more, and see them be somewhat "normal" before the trauma. I would also make all their births and introductions seem equal in the short montage and narration. It just seemed overtly foreshadowing and neglectful that Neteyam's and Kiri's birth and infancy were emphasized while Lo'ak and Tuk'tirey's were implied with no onscreen time (even though theyre introduced to the audience as literally newborn characters). Hell even Spider had a scene where he was running around the RDA facility as a toddler in a diaper. I just feel like if we're going to have so many characters, all of whom are included throughout the story, they should all be introduced in a way that didnt give away their roles and arcs so overtly and were more likely to connect with through longer screentime.
Jake and Neytiri's kids' interactions with the Ronal and Tonorwari's kids - I dont think these scenes were over extended necessarily. After all, this movie was about the kids mostly. They were just excessive in the "bullies vs. underdogs" format that the writing itself felt childish and redundant. What bothered me most about it was the cruelty of Aonung and his friends and how that never really explained from their cultural or even personal perspectives, so the progression of their cruelty was so exponential it felt outlandish. I would personally take time to build up their tensions through various examples of Jake and Neytiri's kids struggling with or quicky learning varous Metkayina customs, like food prep, ettiquate at eating sites, and even smaller things like making or customizing their saddles for riding or water sports within the clan. This could be in a montage with one major sequence being related to riding their ilu (which would be instrumental to the rest of the film). More time to interact with each other and express their personalities would reveal their cultural attitudes, expand Metkayina lore, and flesh out the characters more realistically.
The emphasis on nuclear family dynamics - I think the patriarchal dynamics Jake and Neytiri's family had and even of Ronal and Tonowari's family were really offputting and uninspired. While it somewhat made sense to portray Jake as overbearing and authoritative, and even bring out his human, military past in a time of war against humans, his role as a father was not explored in ways that were challenged by Indigenous-inspired wisdom about equity and equality in a collective family dynamic. Neytiri was very passive, the way Jake treated the kids was really toxic at times (especially the way he talked to Lo'ak and Neteyam). Tonowari was portrayed as an authoritative leader who's words carried the most weight (though Ronal seemed to be less passive than Neytiri). I would have written the story so that their family transition from tribal to nuclear, and isolated became a deep issue, especially for Neytiri, and that Jake's patriarchal biases and toxic masculinity were clearly issues for Neytiri and the boys. I would also write their family dynamics so the boys wouldnt just be shown doing "masculine" coded things, like being a warrior and recklessly fighting and the girls "feminine" things, like being nurturing. Lo'ak could be shown doing/fixing his hair, Tuk shown practicing archery/hunting, etc. Idk... it just felt that the patriarchal nuclear family dyanmic was never explored to be problematic or even foreign to make the "family is fortress" challenge audiences' pre-existing biases (since it clesrly wasnt true in the film lol). It clashed a lot with the lore and didnt feel inspired by many Indigenous philosophies.
The parallels to the A1 - personally there were too many for me and at times it felt really corny (I dont want Jake to have a catchphrase for defeating his enemies, thanks) lol. A few here and there is fine, especially at the beginning to reintroduce the tone of the film due to the 13 year time gap (like the introduction being a similar camera shot over the forest and Quaritch's quips toward the RECOM fleet), and because making some parallels is just clever writing and also kinda fun. But at times it was just so Not Subtle and felt morelike rehashes than parallels lol.
Introduction to sacred sites - Theyre supposed to be sacred so why are they so accessible to anybody, including children and outsiders, with no sort of onscreen initiation process or supervision lol. Whats the point of having a tsahìk if theres free admission to your most sacred and sensitive sites like a hands on exhibit? LMAO I didnt like how the Tree of Voices was used as a mystical backdrop for Jake and Neytiri's lovemaking and then its destruction hardly mentioned nor reacted to at all by the Omaticaya when the RDA came and literally almost uprooted the entire thing. So when Tsireya, Aonung, and Rutxo took the Omatikaya kids to their Tree of Souls for the exposition of the location, it just felt so cheap? Like you all are children, none of you are spiritual leaders. Why is no one else there? Why is their not initiation process to doing something as sacred as making tsaheylu with it for the firsy time? I think I just would have taken more time to explain what their Tree of Souls was while also having a proper (and brief) initiation process, and also have Ronal and Tonowari have the whole family introduced to the tree to connect to rather than just the kids. I think this could stll smoothly write into Kiri's seizure scene, but this time there would be a collective reaction to her response, and the affects she had on the Tree losing light (something that had significant implications but no further investigation in the film). I think this collective reaction would also make Jake's decision to call for Norm and Max's aid more obviously a problem with both the tracking, and the disrespect of customs of the Metkayina (Ronal had a whole line where she felt her role as Tsahìk was disegarded and that was major).
Amrita and unobtainium's value - It makes sense that there be multiple markets to fund the RDA's missions, so the whaling operation wouldnt have to be cut out. But the anti-aging syrum from the Tulkun being more valuable than the mineral that supposedly powers most of Earth is nonsensical to me and not believable. I guess the nonsense aspect of it is to highlight the irrationality of greed and the West's destructive obsession with youth. But... it just doesnt make sense as a writing choice to justify Scoresby's character and the whaling fleet as antagonists to the Tulkun specifically, and a financial supplement to the RDA. It feels incompatable with the premise that Earth is "overpopulated" (which in and of itself is problematic) because having a population that desperately wants to extend their lives (or seem impossibly young looking) on a planet where youth seems abundant and the kandscape is dystopian is questionable lol. The tulkun hunting fleet could have simply been justified as its own venture capitalist thing among the RDA's forces, and an obvious parallel to the harms of industrial whaling and fishing irl.
Kiri and Neytiri's scene -I wrote about it already but that whole scene with Kiri and Neytiri should have been so much longer and in depth lol
Neytiri and Ronal's first interactions- They should have def been less immediately hostile to each other. The hissing match can be completely cut since it was clearly a misogynistic pun about women being "catty" and having a catfight (the men dismissing them as irrational punctuates this 🙄). Or at least Ronal and Neytiri can have their hissing moment but it should be from an actual buildup of tensions between them living among each other, especialy since Neytiri and Ronal had their Reasons to be uncomfortale with giving and recieving uturu that were already introduced (Neytiri was uncomfortable and traumatized being isolated from her home as a refugee sacrificing herself to protect her people and her children, and Ronal had spiritual suspicions about the integrity of avatars, held xenophobic biases about different Na'vi, didnt like the liability of taking in refugees, and saw Jake as pathetic). I also wrote about this before, but it just felt overtly cruel and unncessary for Ronal and Neytiri to have a brief connection from seeing a Tulkun mother lose her life and her baby. The mother Tulkun didnt have to be Ronal's spirit sister (and honestly calf didnt have to die, too), and Ronal and Neytiri could have resolved their tensions together by bonding over motherhood in other ways, like having a short scene where they work together using their shared tsahìk and healing knowledge to prove theyre more alike than different and should be cooperative, or hell, bonding over takin care for the Tulkun mother's orphaned calf. I just really didnt like how Cameron portayed Ronal and Neytiri and their introducton was super bad. A lot could have been explored from their shared identities as mothers, tsahìk, "wives", and people who had something to learn from others (and ofc having a shared enemy).
Underwater scenes with the kids - I'm sorry but these could have been so much shorter lol. This is def my own bias as I dont care to see things in 3D, and while the scenes were dazzling (and I personally didnt have a problem with the slower pacing of act 2 because I like longer slice of life shots), it felt these scenes overlapped with act 1 where a lot of content and development could have been revealed about Jake and Neytiri's family, the Omatikaya, the Metkayina, and even the RDA (like Bridgehead's size and development). Ofc I wouldnt cut these scenes entiely because they are beautiful and important; they show the initiation process of learning a vital skill among the Metkayina as well as their character development learning different philosophies about water, etc. And after all, Avatar as a franchise is known for being a visual, escapist spectacle. But they felt quite overextended for act 2, so I'd simply make the underwater exposition scenes a bit shorter lol.
Theres def more and I'll update this post as I think of more and rewatch the film!

Hii,I’d like to request a fanfic about kaeya and venti(seperate) comforting a gn!reader after losing their pet
Summary - Venti and Kaeya comfort you after the loss of your pet.
Pairings - Reader x Venti / Kaeya
Warnings - Pet angst
Penpal - Sorry for getting to you late! If you did by chance lose a pet like that I’m so sorry to hear that- I tried to make it extra comforting for that case. If not and I’m just overthinking it- I hope you enjoy it either way :)
A/N - Ahhhh- I havent posted in so long ;-; sorry sorry, been stuck with 40-50 hours of work this entire week, and when I get home I just grind Inazuma. I havent even caught up to the archon quest, just exploring lol
Comfort after Losing a Pet
Venti
Venti has lived for a very long time, and even with his cheerful chatter and harmless jokes, he’s gained a strong sense of wisdom from these years. He has no doubt attached himself to people throughout these years and lost them, but instead of feeling sad for them, I feel like Venti would keep them close to his heart instead.
He’d urge you to do the same.
Things like these take time, taking in the death of someone important to you is not easy, he understands that.
Venti can be incredibly patient, even though it might be hard for him to put himself exactly in your shoes, he will wait alongside you.
Unless it’s a cat.
He’s allergic to those little fuckers- and even if he doesn’t share a particular hatred towards them…
Jk jk he’ll comfort you and mourn your pet with you either way, he just wants to see you smile again.
What Venti could best give you is words and time, he doesn’t really have much archon duties so he’ll spend the day doing things with you. He’ll even skip a few nights at the bar just to cuddle with you and make you feel safe and like you have someone to rely on.
As for words, we all know Venti is a smooth talker- who’s to say he isn’t good at soothing someone either?
He probably won’t be as touchy as Kaeya will, and will rely on the things he can do to cheer you up. Playing his lyre, telling you jokes, and just being by you.
_-_-_-_
"People and animals come and go, I know for sure that -pet name- loved you dearly Y/n. And even if they can’t be here with you," Venti pressed a loving kiss to your chest right where your heart was. "They’ll always be right here with you.”
_-_-_-_
“They’re gone.”
You slowly sank to your knees, lips pressed firmly shut as you tried to blink away the tears. Shock coursed your body as you tried to understand just what had happened. But every time you thought about it, your heart thud a bit too loudly against your chest, and suddenly you wanted to cry all over again.
Venti, who was right beside you didn’t know what to do. His hands were outstretched to bring you into his arms, but he was unsure of whether it was the contact you need at the moment.
He decided to simply rest his hand on your back.
The two of you had just been on your way back home after having to put your pet down, something you’d been trying to delay, but knew you had to with their age and actions. Venti had stood with you through it all, but you hadn’t shed a tear back then.
But the shock gradually faded away, and you were a sobbing mess.
Venti rubbed his hand on your back, whispering soft promises and loving words into your ear. It hurt him to see you like this, and even if he was close and had known your pet well, it didnt affect him nearly as much as it did you. However, when you continued to sit crouched on the floor, he knew he needed to take action.
Slowly, he lifted you to your feet, opening the door to your home and slowly helping you inside. Tears continued to trickle down your face as he walked you over to your bedroom, a firm grip on your arm so you wouldnt fall. His thumb gently brushed the skin of your arm, a contact that reminded you he was there.
He gently sat you on the bed, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “Y/n,” he began gingerly, already taking off your boots and unnecessary accessories. “Take a deep breath in.”
You did just that, but another sob broke past your lips and suddenly you were wiping them away.
“No no,” he took your hands in his, your wrists encased in his gentle grip. “I’m not asking you to stop crying… I just want you to clear your head a little.” His gaze was soft as he looked up at you from his crouched position. “Being sad over this is completely normal, I’ll be with you through it all.”
He slowly brought your fingertips to his lips, pressing a featherlike kiss to each of them. So soft that by the time he’d finished, you’d stopped crying. His touch made you feel warm, a bright reminder that he was here with you, that you wouldnt be alone during this.
“(Pet Name) loved you Y/n. I want you to know that they were happy till the end, happy with you. I know you need to grieve, but don’t ever think that you’ll have to do it alone.”
Kaeya
Kaeya may not as lived as much as Venti, but he has certainly gone through enough to understand handling a loss. He’s lost a great amount of family, and has lost his relationship with his brother. He probably hasnt had a pet before, but knows the importance they hold.
He probably got to know your pet too, formed memories and came to love them as well.
It wont hit him as hard though .
Kaeya will also be patient with you, theres no rush to heal over what happened or finish your grievances. Expect him to be there with you for the majority of the time, he might ask for a couple of days just to stay with you.
But Kaeya still needs to work, hence time not being one of the main providers he can give you. Instead, he would wrap you in his arms and wouldnt let go. Physical contact and giving are what he’s gonna be doing.
You feel hungry for eggs and bacon? Chef Kaeya to the rescue-
Tbh I dont even know if he can cook.
Like Venti, he will remind you constantly that he’s there. Because he knows that its exactly what he needed back when Crepus died. He’ll remind you through his words, actions, and contact.
24/7 Cuddle buddy.
He most definitely calls you nicknames all the time, but the names before the death of your pet might have been more like, babe, doll, honey. He might’ve switched to love, dear, dearest, stuff like that for a little.
Idk- but ‘Your pet loved you doll,’ doesnt sound as nice as, ‘Your pet loved you dear.
_-_-_-_
“We made so many memories with them,” he whispered into your ear, arms around you. “You were always there with them, loved and took care of them, I know they loved and appreciated you for it.”
_-_-_-_
“I’m fine Kaeya,” you mumbled as he held the cup of tea to your lips. Your hands could easily grasp the sides, but for some odd reasons he insisted on being the one to do everything for you. You knew it was partly because he’d have to start going back to work soon, and he just wanted you to feel comfortable.
“I know,” he simply said, a smile playing at his lips. “But I want to spoil you with love, just take it.”
You felt your throat go dry and your chest thud painfully, something you’d gotten used to since yesterday. The loss of your pet struck hard, but you found it all the more bearable with Kaeya, who stood alongside you through it all.
Finishing the tea, he climbed into bed with you, hand coming to pull you close to his chest. His fingers slowly brushed the skin of your back, soothing patterns that would send you to sleep right away. But instead, you nuzzled your head deeper into his chest.
“I miss them,” you spoke softly.
Kaeya didnt stop with the motions on your back, but instead drifted his other hand to the back of your head. He brushed his fingers through your locks, lowering how own head down to press a kiss to your forehead.
“I know you do,” was what he said in a whisper. “Theres nothing wrong with it either, you will miss them for an eternity.” He spoke from experience, but was never harsh with his words as if he expected you to know. “But eventually, you will solely remember those good memories with (Pet name). Those are the only ones that matter, because you made them happy, and they made you happy.”
The deep breath you took in was painful.
But he was right, you knew well that their memories and your yearning for them would turn into a past adoration. You would never forget them, but you’d come to accept their loss and always remember them in a happy light.
“Thank you,” you mumbled softly to the boy, wrapping your hands around his waist. “You always know what to say and do… thank your for being here for me.”
“I will always be here for you,” was his answer.

Mal is naturally around, lets say 5ft 8 (she kinda tall have you seen her mom?) with the boots its +3 so she would be around...5ft 11, yeah, she tol. Evie issss probably around 5,5? i think thats how tall sofia is soooo plus 3inches shes 5ft 8, yeah that sounds about right idk but lets say it is. XD
also, you can see Mal is standing pretty...awkwardly, she aint human, she dont know how to do human so she stands weirdly and her eyes arent human (she can do this freaky stare that legit makes people walk away cuz its weird, they also are reflective, imagine going into the kitchen and then suddenly two eyes in the darkness are just staring at you like a cat) she doesn't blink alot...yeah...gurl got fangs too. this Mal has a pretty hard time processing human emotion, she is not human so she doesn't exactly know how to deal with their emotions but shes learning (at first thanks to Evie, Jay, Carlos, and then Ben helps her not be...not-empathetic around human emotion) yeah girly is weird but shes tryin lol
Evie, of course, is that classic pretty girl who is more than meets the eye, she; of course, is a witch and makes many types of potions and has a grimoire along with a mirror that can tell her where anything is at anytime in any place. Evie is a very naturally kind girl, even if her mother tries to teach her otherwise, Carlos (who will be redesigned and posted soon) is her very first friend after years of solitude (which is not at the prompt of mal, who didnt even know what a birthday party was and had no interest in it, EQ was just weird with Evie) and then befriends Jay, and lastly Mal, who tipped Evie off as a bit too weird and stayed away from her until Mal (multiple times) saved her life.(either from random gang members or the fated retrieval of the dragons eye (WHICH; mal did NOT plan to have evie grab, Mal doesnt exactly get why her mom wants to just be the worst but mostly mal kinda just...chills)
Evie teaches Mal how to human (or at least be an okay person) and Mal helps Evie create spells and potions for her wip grimoire. their friendship is still a work in progress but one day they’ll be very good friends and while they do have some trouble with each other, they dont doubt their loyalty to each other and their boys. (under the cut is more info about them)
their personality's are both drawn from and unlike their canon selves, Evie is strong minded, smart, witty, just the tiniest bit bitchy (but in the best way) and kind. but she is not a push over and refuses to stand down from her opinion unless she sees it is in the wrong. and while she is kind she is not someone that will take on someone elses problems, metal or physical, it must be worth her time and self for her to step in, she is empathetic but she's also aware that no-one is worth destroying herself over. queen of chemistry, has made several poison's on purpose. plans to be head of the fashion world, while also reclaiming her mothers original kingdom (i think eq had her own kingdom??? SHE DID, she was the queen of another kingdom but married snows dad to stay in power! Evie is a full on princess?!?! holy shit!!! ah!? Evie my gurl you have a full on claim to a throne!) needs no prince just a man treating her like the queen she is. can fight very well, skilled in knives and daggers, has used her heels as a weapon before.
Mal, as ive said, is weird. she is slow on uptakes, takes a minute to understand things, just doesn't understand sarcasm, metaphors, things like that. is a very logical person, sensory issues, she is pretty smart , but she is the epitome of “all points in intelligence but none in wisdom” Evie and Carlos have the wisdom points and both have intelligence. Mal and Jay are just kinda vibing, tho Jay is very statically smart (helps with tourney.) she is immensely loyal, once you have her trust you have it forever, but once you break it you will never get it again, protective, accidently snarky/sarcastic (when Evie snickers at Mals deadpan mal is just like “?????”) verrrrry food drivne, always hugry (her metabolism is so fuking high, Evie is like ‘HOW DO YOU EAT A FIVE THOUSAND COURSE MEAL AND STILL BE HUNGRY?!’ meanwhile Mal is eating her fifth set of poptarts) head bonks, Evie and Carlos get gentle ones (Carlos does go for the hard ones tho, he is still an idiot teenage boy *affectionately*) while Mal and Jay just full on slam their heads into each other, Evie calls jay thick skulled becuase he somehow doesnt get a concussion from this, he has broken his nose tho. if mal isnt reading a book shes drawing, or playing with Evie or Jays hair.
uh, this somehow turned into a whole “what they would be like in my rewrite” somehow sooooo yeah, the boiz are next, probably gonna do the s3 too idk okay
oh and evie is inspired by @harriyanna

39 36 17 and 8 for the tired parent tiro please 👉👈🥺💕💕💕
thanks for the ask 💕💕💕 also i havent slept in like 38 hours so if you see any typos... no you didnt...
8.)What do they like best about their partner?:
Sage: She admires Brimstone and Viper’s worth ethics, and their love for the younger agents (even if Sabine tries her damn hardest to hide it). They’re tough nuts to crack but their love is always genuine, their wisdom is undeniable, and they simiarly carry the burden of looking after the younger agents. I mean, duh, they’re all legal adults but some of them are as young as 19 or 20, I’m sure. They have so much to learn, so much to grow to discover... She’d hate to see their lives ended before they can really blossom. It’s bad enough that they’re wrapped up in a life of warfare as is. But Viper and Brimstone are always looking out for them, and her as well, and have little senses of humor that come out in unexpected ways and peaceful moments between all the fighting; it’s refreshing. Keeps her young.
Viper: Firstly, she and Brim love Sage’s smile and kindness and shes just always looking out for them. Little things. “I got you your coffee,” and it’d be exactly how they like it. “I saw that you got a hole in sweater and fixed it for you.” “I have leftovers in the fridge that you can eat -- I insist. Please.” the healer is just so kind and it boggles Viper. Like she does not feel she deserves any of it, and yet... Here’s an abundance of love and genuine care to her face! It’s embarrassing LMAO and Brimstone is her tired counterpart, keeps her from going off too much on the youngins, understands her pain, takes coffee breaks with her. She can talk to them about things she can’t tell anyone else.
Brimstone: Similar case; relates to Sage and Viper on a unique level the younger agents just can’t understand. Finds a certain peace with Sage, a certain calm in Viper. Realized he doesn’t have to be the lone head honcho and hide his pain and anxieties to be brave for the others. They’ll always be there to help him and make sure he isn’t alone.
17.) What would make them break up? Would it be permanent?:
I think the, “no fraternization,” rules and trying to hide their relationship would hurt them a lot, along with trying to be professional between their work and their love. Like feelings getting in the way of rational decisions on the battlefield and it’d definitely create tension after. I could see some cases of this where they take a break or try to break things off but they always end up gravitating back towards each other. I could only see a permanent break-up in the scenario where something really bad happens on the battlefield because they were considering their love > their work/rationality, or if they got so busy they had no time to dedicate to their relationship at all.
36.) What’s their greatest strength as a couple? Their weakness?:
Strengths: Good communication and honesty, and I think they’d have a lot of respect for each other’s needs and preferences. Plus, better teamwork when getting after the younger agents for the dumb ass shit they do
Weaknesses: Conflicting schedules, work stress which could lead to schedule problems or irritability and arguments, etc... hard being the commanders of a vigilante mercenary group
39.) Who initiated the relationship? Who kissed who first?  When did they realize they were in love?:
Initated: Probably Sage, after plenty of blushes and pining from both parties until they just couldn't take it anymore and she was the one to propose them all being happy together
Kisses: Sage usually initiates more soft and tender moments; She was the first to kiss Brim and Viper. (And between those two, Brim kissed Viper first.)
Realizing they were in love was a whole ordeal of self-denial and swallowing down feelings and avoiding the other as much as possible because oh my god there’s no way i’m crushing on them. It’d be SO funny because they’d be all giddy at the thought of each other like school kids and then go “no. i’m too old and too mature to be acting like i want to write my crushes’ names in my notebook over and over.” but love transcends all boundaries including age and they will have to cope

I've really come to love your written posts about introspection, the characters' feelings and fears, their weaknesses and self doubt, but I've grown curious: do they ever talk it out?
Assuming we're past the epilogue, the bad guys are defeated, mochi and lime are together and so are coco and taffy, is there some scene where lime is like "yeah you leaving me was like my worst fear and when you actually left it was like a nightmare come true and I almost resented you for it" to mochi or her saying "ahaha well when we were like 17 I knew I was in love with you and was going to be in love with you forever because that's how it works for witches but I was also insecure because you had a million girls drooling after you and I felt so different that I was convinced I was way too weird for you"?
Or maybe just coco and taffy talking it out, sharing trauma and hopes as they soak in each other's presence, just to have those misunderstandings resolved once and for all?
OHOHO WE DONT HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE EPILOUGE !!!!! THEY HASH THIS SHIT OUT DURING THE STORY !!!!!!
limes whole thing about mochi leaving actually gets hashed out relatively quickly after she comes back (after she finds out lime is cat-ears). contrary to popular belief lime cant keep that shit bottled up for long, itll come out one way or another. mochi gets mad at him for 1) going to the underground when its SUPER dangerous for him and for her (if anyone were to find out who he was), and more importantly 2) for lying to her about it (and mochis anger/frustration is also her guilt of leaving all of them with barely a note leaking into her emotions)
and when he responds something like "well what the fuck did you want me to do when you left me for 2 years, sit on my ass and wait around?" and this lowkey turns into a fight where just. everything comes out. lime just starts running his mouth and then it wont stop. tells her how miserable he was when she left and was so mad and scared and how he knew why she had to do this and understood that as her guild, he supported everything she did but just couldnt stop that feeling of anger for being left behind and hated himself for feeling this stupid selfish way. manages to stop himself before blurting out that hes in love with her (mostly because he began to actually tear up and went "oh NOPE" and stopped talking) and MOCHI this whole time listening to him went from mad to shocked to sad and you hit the nail on the head he almost resented her for this and while he didnt explicitly say that, the point got across
and he probably tries to leave so she wont see him fucking crying but she just. locks him in such a tight hug apologizing profusely and telling him over and over how much she wanted to stay by his side but couldnt and wanted so bad to take him with her but couldnt and tells him its okay to feel like that and she understands and all this soft shit and its maybe the first time we see lime actually cry. buries his face into her neck and squeezes her into a hug so tight he might never let her go. mumbles out a "Dont fucking leave me again." and she goes "i know im sorry i wont"
and from this point on mochi is a lot better at being conscious of this part of lime. indirectly lets him know a lot how much she relies on him. i dont think she even knew about this part of him, how much he relied on and needed her until this moment
as far as coco and taffy go, those babes were hashing out their shit the entire story from start to finish when taffy joined the guild. i wouldnt say its a wisdom drop every episode like fruba but theres definately a lot of enlightenment moments. talking about how they feel and someone else just drops the perspective bomb on them. and coco and taffy do this for each other quite a bit. shes like the whole reason he got to the point where he was able to join mochis guild

Hi i’ve been playing genshin way too much so i have some ideas for like. a genshin meets linked universe au where they all travel through teyvat and they have visions n stuff
I’m basing it off the ideals of the archon aswell as how characters with visions align with that of the chain
That being said, spoilers for genshin and all loz gams ahead!
Sky- Geo (Order/Contracts)
Odd since sky literally rode on the winds via his loftwing on his adventure, but He was already apart of this huge plan in the making set by Hylia long ago. Go defeat Demise, tailor the Master Sword, not to mention post adventure technically becoming the first king of hyrule and siring the royal line
I’d imagine his kit being Similar to albedo, with a sword and his skill being creating little floating island structures from out of the ground. His burst would be the same as his skyward slash, except after slashing it unleashes a densely controlled earthquake. The perfect support dps
Legend- Anemo (Freedom)
This was tough, but I think Anemo fits very well for him the more i think about it. Anemo is wind, and the archon himself lost someone he cherishes. Naturally everybody who possesses his vision will fall to this fate one day or another. He already has twice. First with his Uncle, second with Marin. He’s free from their ties, but never forgets.
His kit is unique. His skill is based off his wit, so dodging creates a shield that bursts when hit (similar to Beidou). His burst grants this ability for the whole team on a 3 charge basis. Very good support dps aswell and good for reactions.
Hyrule- Dendro (Wisdom)
I def see him having this since he’s very street smart (He’s a wandering traveler, no time for proper education!) and he’s already designated healer of the group. Thus he possesses a very rare element in the group, as if he didnt stand out already.
He fights with a sword still, sure, but his genuine kit comes from him using his vision like a catalyst, with the thing swirling like a book would. Literally dendro barbara with his kit tho, Elemental skill creates a pollen feild that helps heal allies when he attacks, and his burst Is flora manifesting itself in his friends wounds to heal them for more. Healer #1
Twilight- Hydro (Justice)
From the moment of his adventure, he had a duty, it just got more furry and world saving as time went on. So, naturally his sense of right and wrong landed him with a vision he didn't even understand how to use. So he just doesn’t use it until he has to.
If he has to not use his sword, he’ll rely on making one out of water that he can hold. His burst is literally just him using his hydro sword to do everything in his power to just. kick ass. He doesn't use it that often. Would make a great physical dps tho.
Wild- Electro (Transcience/Eternity)
Tough again, but i think electro is the best for Wild for 2 reasons
His past self is different from his self now, yet they are the same. With the electro archon, she too was like this in a way. 2 different people, same alias.  Link from before represents eternity, forever fulfilling his duty as personal guard for Zelda and keeping himself quiet. His focus needed to stay forever sharp if he were to continue. Now, with little to no recollection of how he was, he can be free and live in the everlasting moment. His willing silence was just him not wanting to talk, not for his duty.
Because of Urbosa, his elemental skill sends a lightning strike down at enemies when he snaps his fingers, then attacks with his sword.  For burst, Like in HWAOC, His sword glows with purple electricity and smites whose ever in range. Combine this with all his usual shenanigans you can do in his game and it can be very deadly. very. deadly.  Good main dps
Wind- Anemo (Freedom)
This was so easy it was practically a win/win if i chose this HDHDH
Wind lost the King of Red Lions, someone he needed to travel with and bonded, and has the literal windwaker. So even outside this world he could manipulate wind to a certain extent. Likes to use it in non-battle situations, to atleast get a taste of what its like to soar like he did on the sea. Naturally hes very excited about windgliders also when he finds this out.
Uses a sword still, but uses his actual windwaker as a catalyst. He points the baton in a certain direction, and it swirls in that spot. If he focuses long enough, he can send himself up into the air for some wild damage like venti. His burst is like the travelers, sending a small dense tornado in the direction of whatever's coming. Good for swirl effects
Time- Electro (Transience/Eternity)
Once again, easy pick, ESPECIALLY if im going with my “Fierce Deity literally lives in his head and has the option to front in time of need” Headcanon. 2 totally different people, same alias kinda. (FD kinda lives in his body now too so he has to share the name.)
Time’s elemental power is much more toned down, and really has to focus to get a good electro hit with his claymore. His burst Is like Razor’s, Manifesting FD into this electro form and fighting along side him.
If FD was in front, the power would be much more potent, perhaps on the level Baal’ has it. It’s not like his old powers, which he rather prefers, but its better than nothing. His elemental allows him to create electricity that procs on hard hits much like Baal, but his Burst sends down lightning from above like Sara. Also a good main dps
Warriors - Pyro (War)
Wars? Wars has passion. Wars has what it takes to lead an army...and set his cape on fire by accident. Especally now with his new vision which he uses...admittedly abit too much. No fire for tonight? No problem. Smithy cant bend his sword right during smithy? A little sizzle wouldn’t hurt.
It mainly comes from his sword, which drips flames like water does on a pole.  He uses his elemental skill to strike a seering blow to enemies. His burst Is much like a mix of albedo and bennetts, A slash downward sends shockwaves fo heat and flame towards enemies. Good support!
Four- Adaptive
Four, unbeknownst to the chain, has a choice between the 4. Why you might ask? Depends on whose fronting. So, to cover this up from the chain, He collectively goes with the notion that he’s “adaptive” as said by the locals, which is extremely rare.
Green- Pyro, for his dedication
Blue- Geo, for him being forced into this shit
Red- Dendro, for his sweet nature
Violet- Cryo, for his introverted mopeyness.
All of these channel into his sword for a hard hit, and all elements come together to create this powerful amalgamation of elements plummeting towards the target.
