Dating Them. | Haikyuu
inc. akaashi, bokuto, oikawa, iwaizumi, sugawara, kageyama, kuroo
written in 2nd pov (female reader implied)
song recc: i got carried away and gave them all a song but i can't help myself so if u want another one, loverboy by a-wall
word count: 3105 words
summary: "what does dating them look like?"
i love them all sm <3 hopefully these all make sense!! tysm to @luvring for sending me down a deep retrograde with rex orange county whom i almost chose to link a song to for everyone but then narrowed it down to just oikawa <3 also almost put in we & us for akaashi but freaked out 💃 pls check out this post by her that inspired me!! it was so sweet
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
akaashi
even if my heart stops beating you're the only thing i need with me even if the earth starts shaking you're the only thing worth taking even if the sky's on fire got you here, it's alright
looks like little gifts and notes left for each other everywhere
lunches made for the other left in lockers and on desks with little love notes <3
tell me he wouldn’t end every note to you with a little " ♡ ᵕ̈ " i dare you
you both handwrite the notes because texts are for losers
unless ofc one of you is out of town and you’re separated
then there are good morning and goodnight and i miss you texts
ending with ୧⍤⃝💐 and ᴖ̈ emojis
you both are very busy people so you just try to make sure the other is taken care of and knows they’re loved until you guys see each other again <3
dates are always lovely with him but the best part of them is when you guys get to go home
when it’s late at night and one of you is between the legs of the other, laying against their chest as you both do your individual things or something together
since life is so hectic it’s nice to just have these quiet moments in each other's presence <3 all he needs is to be around you and he doesn’t need anything else
there's definitely so many intimate and domestic moments with him
getting home from games used to be one of the worst parts of playing volleyball but you’ve made him look forward to it
he loves to call or text you on the way home <3
if you’re able to stay at his house and be there when he gets home even better !!
you’re always taking care of him, making him something to eat or cleaning him up <3
how you guys started getting interested in each other?
I think at first sight you were curious about each other but one specific interaction sealed the deal <3
akaashi for sure knows so many random facts and how things work and most of the time when bokuto says something, it’s incorrect and akaashi will correct him <3
one afternoon when you three were together, bokuto was rambling about something he thought was impossible and threw a look towards akaashi, “and i don’t want to hear a ‘well, actually’ from you, there’s no way i'm wrong. if we're building things on earth that means more stuff on it and so it's getting heavier.”
akaashi only smiled, looking at his fingers as he played with them, “yes, but everything we're making those buildings out of already existed on the earth prior to–”
bokuto groaned, hands in his hair as he bent over, “no way! you know too much akaashi, I don’t even know if that’s a good thing or not”
you let out a small laugh at the exchange. you wanted to add something but your chest tightened with anxiety, fearing that it would reveal how you truly felt. however, it slipped from your mouth before you could stop it, “i actually like it, i think it’s really cool that you know so much, akaashi-san. i admire it.”
bokuto, still bent with his arms on his legs immediately turned his head towards you with sharp eyes and brows raised, a teasing smile on his face
akaashi, on the other hand, had turned slightly red, his lips stuck between wanting to smile and trying to play off the compliment as if it hadn’t made his heart stop for a second
you’re cheeks had also warmed, realizing that if bokuto immediately got it through his thick skull (with love ♡) there was no way akaashi hadn’t
since he’s quiet by nature, the sweetest thing for him is someone who will really listen to what he has to say and the fact that you found it interesting just topped it all off <3
bokuto
sweet talk everything you say it sounds like  sweet talk to my ears
looks like seeing each other in the halls and he brightens up, the world literally getting brighter as he sees you and he can’t stop the wide smile that spreads across his face <3
i think what he really needs is someone that matches his energy. you might be a little calmer than him due to the fact that you’re not jumping up and down but you’re just as happy, a smile wide on your face, eyes wide and you’re pushing through the crowd to get to him as well
if you are able to, you always come to his matches and it makes a difference in his playing <3
ofc before dating he was just as amazing as a player but now that he gets to see you while doing what he loves, there’s so much energy and happiness that wells up in him he ends up jumping higher and being more vocal
without a doubt he’s always looking up to you in the stands before every rally
it makes your heart stir, too, whenever he makes eye contact with you and you can’t help but smile and cheer with all the love in the world whenever you both meet eyes
whenever he’s home from a match, you bet that he’s heading to you as soon as possible if you allow him to
loves to collapse on you, strong arms wrapped around your waist and he rests his head on your stomach, body between your legs
will fall asleep so fast if you run your hands through his hair, loves it if you just comb through it from the front, pushing it back as they slide to the back of his head and then move back to the front to run through the strands again
even better if you talk to him as you love on him while he’s resting on you
hugs you tighter when you praise him, letting out a small sigh as he relaxes
“you did so well today, kou. ‘m so proud of you,” you hum.
“you mean it, baby?” he mumbles, face still buried into your shirt.
“i mean it. i would never miss any of your games if i can help it for the world, love.”
the last thing he can get out is an “i love you so much" before his eyes fall shut
oikawa
girl, if you want it there’s no good reason not to love if you want it
looks like keeping him company even when it’s three in the morning <3
he’ll hold you close or have you on his lap, arms wrapped around you when he’s up at night watching other team’s volleyball matches
loves to talk you through the plays as well if you have any questions
will take the time to pause the video and point out anything <3
“see what they did here? they purposely left an opening in the block for the libero to cover. it corners the spiker either way,” he spoke softly, a small smile on his face as he explains the tactic to you.
“i think i understand. you guys have done that before too, right?” you nod, eyes focused on the screen as you lean to the side, resting your head on his shoulder
he wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you close to him, “we have, pretty. i didn’t think you paid so much attention.”
“of course i do!” you pouted, tilting your head to look slightly on him.
he met your eyes with a teasing smile, “i’m only joking, princess. i see how hard you focus, you look super cute when you do, after all.”
you buried your face into his shoulder, too red to keep looking at him
you’re definitely a part of his squad (iwa, makki, matsu) even if you’re a grade below them
if you didn't already know them, he also definitely introduced you to the group as “his girl”
from then on out, you had four scary guard dogs should you ever need them <3
he’s glad to have someone so close to him that also gets along with his friends, so he’s happy as can be when you’re all hanging out
ofc also enjoys one on one time with u as seen above
after matches, you’re always loving on him, whether he won or lost
if he won, similar to bokuto, you’re praising him the whole way, pressing kisses to his forehead as he lays on you, completely content as he rests
if he lost, there’s no words exchanged between you two until he’s ready. it’s not that words will lead to anything bad, but you know what will help him. you know that for him, he’ll recover with time. after he’s thought about it, he’ll express all his feelings and emotions to you, so you only need to wait for him to be ready. in the meantime, you’ll love on him and make sure he takes care of himself. you’ll stay with him so that he knows he’s not alone and when he’s ready, you caress his face, softly wiping his eyes whenever they tear up and listen to anything he wants to say <3
iwaizumi
my baby here on earth showed me what my heart was worth so when it comes to be my turn could you shine it down here for her?
looks like giving you gifts everytime he sees you
probably actually started with you giving him gifts all the time first <3
def friends to lovers i can see it
when you started giving him gifts, it stirred something inside of him and his friends kept telling him that you definitely liked him back
he was still unsure tho bc we’re talking a man with a whole fan club and two other men who have nothing better to do but tease other people so how trustworthy is their advice really
but he wanted to be hopeful so he started getting you things too (credit to makki & matsu, best wingmen)
because your relationship with iwa was 100% friends to lovers, said wingmen + whatever oikawa is definitely supported you both and were trying to play cupid
makki and matsu helped iwa find out what you liked without making it obvious and since he was too nervous to ask you on his own
also tried to inconspicuously ask if you were interested in anyone in which you immediately turned red and hid your face
the two boys turned to each other with a smirk because they knew they were definitely right
they probably got you to plan a confession to iwa, swearing on their lives that iwa liked you back
(makki and co. also definitely found a way to listen to it all go down and probably even recorded it)
as soon as you guys start dating he’s all over you <3 probably beats you to buying something most of the time but you still try to buy him things as often as you can
i think he’d adore flowers from you <3 they’re some of the sweetest things you can get them
mad dog respects you as an extent of his respect of iwa
definitely lots of words of affirmation in your relationship too
after the spring high semifinals you were in his lap, letting him hide his face in the crook of your neck as his whole body shook
you rubbed the back of his head with one hand, the other placed on one of his arms which were wrapped around you,
“i just want you to know how proud i am of you, hajime. i could hear you everytime you brought up your team. you did so well. you taught them so much. you’re so observant, you’re so strong. i couldn’t be more proud of you, love.”
he tightened his hold on you, and you felt his tears on your neck. “i know. i know it hurts a lot, baby. i’m here for you,” you whispered, pressing a kiss to his head.
sugawara
she said i dressed in your favorite  i bought two bottles of red unless you made reservations oh look, you thought all ahead
looks like mothering his flock of children with him and taking care of him after he has taken care of the rest <3
lots of resting on each other’s shoulders throughout the day bc you both are so tired
whenever you guys are on dates, his favorite parts are always the train ride back home, he loves the gentle rocking of the train that lulls you both to sleep as you lay on each other, there’s just something so safe and intimate about it
ofc he loves doing things with you and you both try to spoil each other rotten, surprising each other with gifts and dates
some of your favorite dates to go on are just walks around outside
you guys take turns finding different locations to travel to just so that you guys can admire the beauty together
can u imagine? two pretty people walking around in pretty nature?? it’s too much <3
he loves walking in the winter at night because most of the time you guys will get to see pretty lights too!!
and if u get cold he gets to give u his jacket so two birds w/ one stone
if he’s feeling generous he’ll invite one of the children to walk with you guys while looking at christmas lights
it’s different every time
one night it was hinata, bundled warm in jackets and bouncing around between you and suga
another night it was kageyama, as calm and collected as ever but he enjoyed looking at the lights with you guys
you definitely bought him hot chocolate bc you couldn’t handle the parental love bubbling in your heart for the boy
(mama y papa?--)
but you both were def alone on christmas night when he took you out to walk in the middle of the city, where pretty lights shined at every angle and in every direction <3
he can’t help but kiss you a lot whenever he sees your pretty lips
and you love to kiss his little beauty mark below his eye <3
whenever he’s playing in games, you’re always cheering the loudest
afterwards you’re always flooding him with compliments too once you’re both home or through text message if he’s on the bus ride back
“u always notice so much during matches!! whenever u get in you always have something to tell everyone it’s so cool :000”
“and when you spiked, love, you did so good. we were all freaking out in the stands bc you had just been shut down before and you still went through with it completely!!!”
he'll smile at your energetic messages before replying with his own,
“thank u thank u <3 i can only do so well because i have my own personal cheerleader”
“I’ll see you soon, ok? we’re almost back to school, i love you so much, angel”
if his teammates hadn't drilled it into his head already how much he meant to them, your messages alone would make it worth it <3
kageyama
i wonder if you look both ways when you cross my mind... can i get a kiss? and can you make it last forever?
looks like dates to the milk vending machine and walking together around school <3
he’s already waiting outside your class during breaks and when lunch starts
you step through the door and jump when you see him
“tobio? how are you already here? class just ended?”
“...do you wanna go to the vending machines with me?”
“did you leave early?”
he averts his eyes immediately, trying to think of an excuse but you just sigh to yourself and start to walk, “what am i going to do with you? let’s go before class starts.”
“i wanted to see you,” he mumbles, eyes lowered to the floor and his cheeks dusted pink as he follows after you
your eyes widen at the response and you almost trip over your feet before you smile and lean closer to him, pressing a kiss to his cheek
“i love you too, tobio.”
he’s another boy you’re constantly fighting with to pay for things
sometimes you’re racing to the machine because you’re so desperate to buy him something but there’s no way you’re winning against him even if he gives you a headstart
you work hard to take care of him, though, and you have your ways of getting back at him even if he ends up paying at the vending machine
he’s so horrible at taking care of himself, especially with the amount of times he stays late to practice with hinata
you started to sneak milk cartons and eventually meals into his bags so that he’ll at least be fed
definitely lots of study dates between you both as well, you’re singlehandedly carrying his grades rn
but it’s worth it when you see him on the court <3
he tends to look at you before every serve, and you can feel your heart buzz whenever he makes eye contact with you
seeing him work so hard in volleyball and have so much fun, you can’t help but fall in love with him all over again, and you’ll do anything you can to help him and make sure he can achieve his dreams <3
kuroo
you wanna go out, i wanna finish living you wanna get up, when i could just lay all day, with you
looks like showing up at your door whenever he feels like it either to take you out or to be at home with you <3
after the first time he insisted that he walk you home and you let him, he started visiting you more often
ofc you let him in everytime, you were glad he was the one making moves because you wanted to be around him more, you just didn’t know what to say
when you both started officially dating, you also obviously put in more effort to show that you appreciate him and love to be with him
but he’s always more than happy to be the one to come to you as long as he knows you enjoy it as much as he does
speaking of which he’d really do anything for you
if he’s not already there, you could ask him to at two in the morning and he’d be there as soon as he could <3
especially if you text him something like “i had a nightmare” or “i can’t sleep” he’s over there in a blink of an eye
“alright, princess. are we staying up or should i tire you out?”
🧍
😳
anyway
he’s making any excuse to be close to you
he’s probably helped you in a few subjects if you were struggling with the material
ofc in exchange for kisses <3
he’s surprised when you come to his games, i feel like he’s probably not used to having a lot of people come to cheer him on and he doesn’t want to bother you about having to come to gymnasiums to watch him
but you come of your own free will and it makes him smile, he’s more than ready to crush his opponents to show off for you <3
after games, you’re throwing yourself into his arms as soon as you get to him and he’ll catch you with just as much adrenaline and excitement running through his veins at the sight of you <3

🦆 anon is ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s been a minute, life been hectic for a while 😩 but I’m hoping that starting today, I’ll get a bit of free time to peruse my favorite blogs!!! So, how have you been? Busy? Have you been drinking enough water? Stay hydrated all you thirsty hoes out there!!! 😁
Anyway! Trying to catch up on stuff I’ve missed…
Agreed, sleep is for the weak. I shall sleep when I am dead. Not even the eepy meds work anymore.
*Gasp!* an anniversary? Of your first LU fic? Congrats!
A raffle? Noice! Can’t wait to see what the winners come up with.
Few sentences prompts??? Love it!!! Number 7 plz and make it hurt if possible. I like angst.
Recently saw a YT short that gave me a new idea… it’s a different kind of “self aware” ask. What if the boys in game aren’t self aware… but your drawings of them are? I’ll link the short, don’t worry. But this creator drew their characters and did an animation of them actually being alive and interacting with them and even the other drawings. Thought it was a cool idea to share with the self aware boys being actual drawings that were drawn by reader lol! Actually… that would make reader their actual creator… the ideas are turning in my head with this one~
https://youtube.com/shorts/OcGy7QwN3Lc?si=1HpoRtt_PS7Q5BAG
It's good to see you duck!!! it's been a bit and I hope you're doing well!!! Stuff's been getting better for me, Had an interview for a job just after getting this ask and I'm waiting to hear back now.
It's really funny too cause I track my sleep and just every morning when I check now the time asleep is just gradually getting less and less lol
And yeah! It's been a little over a year since I've started creating for linked universe now, and it's been an amazing time <33 met some truly wonderful people cause of it
7 (silent fury) seems to be the most popular prompt asfvdsvgsdfgv this is actually the 3rd ask I've gotten with it (but I'm gonna write another mini one anyway, wild rather than time for this one >:D)
He knew he was a failure. The first moments of his, truly his own memories and not another life half-remembered, was being told that he failed after all. That he died when the hero was supposed to prosper. That didn't make what he was going through any easier. And wallowing in his regrets wouldn't help you feel safe again. The chain all knew your boundaries, they all knew to ask you your opinions. To make sure that you were comfortable. But villagers didn't. And wild wasn't fast enough to be your hero. He was fine not being Hyrule's, as long as he could be yours that's all he could ever long for. But he failed you. Comforting you wasn't even an option with how you'd locked yourself away in your room, away from everything while you coped. Leaving the only way to take out his burning fury to find the person who dared to lay a hand on you. He couldn't fail you again.
[Prompt list]
I've been seeing that trend too!! Its one that I really like - and I've actually been sent a couple by dms lol it's a really interesting take on the au, and it's just fun in general really. Although I'll probably stay away from the creator == being treated as a deity cause it's kinda an ick for me (it's just a trope I don't like tbh, each to their own but I won't write/read it) but them thinking they have more of a right to be closer to you? the way it could cause arguments if they met the originals? oh there is so much potential for it as an idea honestly

Be More Ghost Chapter 9: Sync Up
Summary:
A Be More Chill AU where Danny gets a Super Quantum Intel Unit Processor (or Squip) to help him become cool and win over Valerie, but things don't really go as planned.
Masterpost | AO3 Link | Word Count: 2,126
Tumblr media
Still not gonna be the cool guy, but maybe not so left out. Of all the characters at school I might be the one who the story’s about now that someone’s helping me out.
Danny jolted awake the next morning, eyes flashing green before settling back to blue as he looked around his empty bedroom. Despite all the strange things Danny had experienced in his half-life so far, it was still hard to believe all the stuff from yesterday had actually happened.
“Hello?” Danny tapped the side of his head. Where was the Squip? “Are you on? Helloooo?”
“Danny?” Jack called through Danny’s shut bedroom door. “Who are you talking to? Is there a ghost???”
“No ghost, Dad!” Danny quickly reassured. He didn’t want his dad breaking down his bedroom door. Again. “Just talking to myself, I guess.”
Danny got up and felt a shiver as his ghost sense went off.
“Ugh, really?” Danny raised his fists into his transformation stance. “I’m going gho-”
He was interrupted by a sharp poke in his back. “Ow!”
What are you doing? Squip-Phantom said with a disapproving tone from behind him. Danny turned around to face the Squip and saw it had its arms crossed.
“Uh, going to stop whatever ghost is around?” Danny pointed his thumb toward the window. He didn’t see any ghost there, but he felt with his lingering ghost sense like a chill at the back of his throat that it was still nearby. “It’s kinda my responsibility and stuff.”
Aren’t your parents ghost hunters? Or what about that huntress girl you’re so infatuated with? Why not let them handle it?
Danny glanced out the window again. Sure, it felt like this ghost wasn’t that strong so probably some other hunter could handle it, but he always felt better if he checked himself.
He shook his head. “I have to go.”
You can’t lie to me Danny, I’m inside your brain. You don’t have to go, you just want to. Go get dressed instead. The Squip gestured to the shopping bag Danny had ended up dropping next to his bed last night.
Danny’s door opened and Jack poked his head in. Predictably, he was wearing an orange jumpsuit.
“Almost ready, son? I’ve got prototype number three of the Fenton Freezer done! If you have time before ya leave for school I can give you a demonstration!”
Danny just nodded, and Jack closed the door again.
That’s the source of your genetic material? Squip-Phantom looked unimpressed.
“Yeah, that’s my dad,” Danny pulled on his Chip Skylark shirt, a green plaid button-up, and some dark-colored jeans from the back of his closet.
Hmm. Squip-Phantom took in his outfit, then grabbed a baseball cap and put it on Danny’s head. It nodded its approval and Danny left his room.
On his way to the bathroom, Jazz stopped him after she took a look at his outfit. “What’s with this? Did you split yourself again?”
It was a fair question since he was wearing the same button-up and cap that “Fun Danny” had worn when he used the Fenton Ghost Catcher to split his human and ghost halves several months ago. Danny definitely did not want his sister psychoanalyzing his choice to follow the directions of a computer he had put in his brain, so he couldn’t tell her the truth.
“Nope, just uh, trying a new look.” Danny shrugged and walked past her into the bathroom and shut the door so he wouldn’t have to explain further. Hopefully he could avoid Jazz cornering him about it later, but knowing how nosey his sister could be, he was just postponing the inevitable.
After finishing his morning routine, Danny snuck past the kitchen to avoid any more conversations with his sister or his dad and walked out the front door. Around the corner from his house, he saw Valerie in her ghost hunting gear sucking up an ectopus with her red thermos. So apparently the Squip had been right about someone else being able to handle the ghost attack earlier.
Of course I was right Danny. You really have to trust me, Squip-Phantom said, which startled Danny. He hadn’t noticed when the Squip had started floating by his side.
“Yeah, I get it,” Danny conceded. Squip-Phantom hadn’t steered him wrong yet, so he really should be following its directions.
Danny walked into an empty alleyway and went ghost. As Phantom flew towards the school, he was wary that the Red Huntress was still close enough that he would trigger her sensors, but it turned out she had already flown far enough away on her hoverboard that he was safe.
“Well, I might not be the cool guy,” Phantom mused, “but maybe now I won’t be so left out.”
With the Squip there to help him, maybe school wouldn’t be so bad today. When he saw Tucker he could tell him all about it. And they could text Sam while she was on vacation to tell her she was wrong and that getting a Squip was a great idea, actually.
Phantom landed in an empty spot near the school and detransformed. As Danny walked into the building, Squip-Phantom floated by his side and started to explain how having a Squip works.
I’m a learning computer, Danny. With every interaction, I evolve, Squip-Phantom waved its hand at the students in the hallway, simply walk and observe.
Danny looked around the hall and saw the A-Listers were chatting by their lockers.
“What’s up bro, nice kicks!” Kwan said as he fist-bumped Dash as a greeting. Both jocks were wearing their usual red letterman jackets. Dash’s new tennis shoes did look pretty nice.
“Shut up dude!” Dash blushed slightly, which surprised Danny. “Are we gonna hang after school today?”
“Ask me later, yeah?” Kwan said while looking at his phone. Dash got out his phone too.
“We’ll sync up!” Dash and Kwan both agreed.
This one participates in sports and clubs to avoid the feeling that deep down he’ll never be good enough, Squip-Phantom said, pointing to Dash.
“But Dash is popular!” Danny was confused. Dash couldn’t be insecure, right? But if the Squip said it was true then maybe it was, despite how unbelievable it seemed.
Those facts are not mutually exclusive. The Squip directed Danny to listen in on another conversation, this time between Paulina and Star.
“I’m shook, I’m blah, I’m just-” Paulina started.
“There, there,” Star patted Paulina’s shoulder.
“Star!”
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s not fair!” Paulina clenched her fists. Danny wondered what was going on that was making Paulina so distressed.
“Yeah!” Star agreed.
“I know.” Paulina nodded and both girls started tapping on their phones in sync.
That one is obsessed with status because she’s afraid of losing it, Squip-Phantom said as it pointed to Paulina.
“Paulina isn’t scared of anything!” Again, Danny found the Squip’s assessment of the A-Lister hard to believe. But Paulina did look kind of stressed right now.
Everyone is scared of something, Danny, Squip-Phantom said. The most dangerous people are the ones who pretend they’re not.
Danny considered this as he watched Ashley walk up to the two A-Listers.
“Paulina!” Ashley waved to get her attention. Paulina reluctantly looked up from her phone. “Guess who I saw at the mall last night?” Ashley paused for a second for emphasis, “with Dash!”
That immediately caught Paulina’s attention. She took a step closer to Ashley.
“I want details.”
Ashley uses gossip to get attention from her peers but as soon she shares it, they ignore her. Squip-Phantom gestured as Ashley talked to Paulina for a bit before Paulina went back to looking at her phone.
“That’s sad.” Danny watched as Ashley walked away dejectedly. Danny didn’t know Ashley that well, but he felt kind of bad for her. “What should I do?”
You should ignore her.
“Yo! Freak!” Kwan slapped Danny’s back, which made him jump. “Where’s my money?”
Up up, down down, left right, A.
Danny barely had time to register that Squip-Phantom had said a cheat code out loud before he felt a jolt in his head that made him wince.
“Ahh!” Danny and Kwan both cried out at the sudden headache. Kwan recovered first and his eyes lit up with realization.
“You got one?”
“Yes!” Danny said. Then he remembered that he was supposed to have paid Kwan for the Squip. “Sorry I didn’t go through you.”
“Danny, this is awesome!” Kwan gently punched Danny’s shoulder in excitement. Then it seemed like his excitement faded as he thought about it some more. “I mean, yeah, I could use the money.” Kwan kicked the ground awkwardly. “‘Cause things are kinda… rough at home. If you know what I’m sayin’.”
Danny had no clue what Kwan was talking about. But then Squip-Phantom waved its hand to get Danny’s attention and mimed drinking something and it sort of made sense.
“Yeah, uh, my dad,” Danny tried not to cringe at the lie, “...drinks too.”
It seemed like Kwan bought it since he immediately perked up.
“Yo, frickin’ Dads, right?” Kwan shook his head slightly as he frowned. “He usually passes out by nine!” Kwan’s mood seemed to shift again and he smiled at Danny. “You should come over and play Xbox!”
Kwan tapped the side of his head as he started walking away. “You know, with a Squip the only controller you need is your mind!” He waved and Danny waved back.
Danny wondered if controlling a video game with his Squip would feel different from using his ghost powers to go inside a video game like he had with Doomed in the past. Maybe he could try it with Kwan later. Wait, since when was he such good friends with Kwan?
Danny looked around, and it seemed like everyone in the hallway had also noticed the strange interaction.
“Kwan and Danny are chill now?” Ashley said as she typed away at her phone, already spreading the gossip around the school.
“Looks like Fenton’s killin’,” Dash said with a surprised look on his face.
“What’s the deal with that?” Mr. Lancer muttered to himself as he walked into his classroom.
“What was that about?” Danny looked back at Squip-Phantom, just as confused as everyone else.
I synced with his Squip. Now his desires are compatible with your own, Squip-Phantom explained.
“So that makes him act like we’re friends?”
What is friendship but a bond between two people? Squip-Phantom shrugged. Now you and Kwan have a bond, it’s just digital.
Danny nodded. That did make some sense. As he rounded the corner on his way to his first class, Danny thought he saw Tucker’s signature red beret in the crowd.
“Oh, Tucker-” Danny cut himself off as he realized Tucker actually wasn’t there. Weird.
“Hola, Danny!” Star tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention. Danny’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Oh, Star!”
“I’m digging this new look,” Star said, gesturing to his outfit. “Hella retro and muy coolio,” she paused for a second, “that was Spanish. Paulina’s trying to teach me!”
“Sí,” Danny replied in Spanish.
“See what?” Star said, not understanding. Danny just laughed it off.
“Uh, how was Phantom Phroyo?”
“Scary! Apparently, the ecto-lime flavor has real ectoplasm in it! That’s like, not edible for humans so I don’t know who thought it was a good idea for phroyo.”
Danny made a mental note to check that out later. His parents had always made ecto-contaminated food but he had actually started enjoying it after he became half-ghost, so ecto-lime phroyo with real ectoplasm sounded good to him. Before he could respond, Paulina came up to them and started pulling Star away.
“Star! Vámonos!”
“Sorry, bye!” Star waved as she and Paulina walked further down the hall.
“Let’s sync up!” Danny said as he waved back. Star nodded and Danny turned back to Squip-Phantom, who was still by his side.
You see, Danny? Life is not unlike a video game, Squip-Phantom waved its hand in the air as it explained, and in a video game success requires just two things: good hand-eye coordination… And a cheat code!
The rest of the school day passed without anything notable happening. Danny did have to deal with a ghost attack- a giant ghost penguin- that took up the whole lunch period, but he was able to snack between classes afterward.
“All in all, a not-too-heinous day,” Danny muttered as he walked to the classroom where the ghost hunting club met.
He was actually feeling pretty good for once and he was excited to see Valerie again. With his Squip, he was sure to win Valerie over and they would start dating again! So yeah, today was going pretty well and Danny was hoping it would just get better.

Love is Sick and Love is Blind (Mob AU)
Tumblr media
pairing: wally darling/original female character(Millie Morning)
rating: M
pretty obvious but this is fan content of welcome home
author's note:  Millie is my Welcome Home oc! Millie is a bunny puppet so there will be mention of things like her ears and tail and bunny feet. Just didn’t want people going in and being confused about the bunny talk. I will add reference art for what Millie looks like in this au once I get around to actually designing it lol. The design and concept for Mob Boss Wally comes from the Welcome Home Mob AU from clownsuu which is also linked. I highly recommend you check out their stuff if you haven’t already, it’s amazing. Please also note that this is more inspired by their au so I will be adding some of my own interpritation of things and won’t be 100% accurate to their canon lore for the au. Ok I think that’s everything for now, sorry this is so long lol Also the inspiration for the garden comes from "The boss's garden" on AO3 by Anonymous.

Mob Boss Wally Darling
Chapter 1 - Somewhere Only You Know
Today just had to be the worst day of Millie’s life. Why else would she be hiding away in the corner of a magnificent garden crying. She was in the most beautiful garden she had ever seen and she was sitting there, not enjoying any of it.
To be honest she shouldn’t even be here. She didn’t know who owned this garden. It was in the middle of town and didn’t seem to be a public place so she was technically trespassing. It wasn’t her fault though. She just needed a place to hide for a bit, just until she calmed down. There wasn’t anyone else here that she could see so she figured she was relatively safe.
Millie had only been living in the city for a couple of months now but things were already going badly. She just didn’t know what to do anymore, and so here she was crying. Because crying was what she was good at, it was like she was born to cry. She did it all the time, over every little thing. Most people around her thought it was annoying, that she was just being dramatic and a big cry baby. It really bothered her that they thought that, as if she could control it.
She wiped at her eyes under where they were hidden by her bangs, trying to stem the flow. It wasn’t helping. She had created a wet spot on her skirt where she had been leaning with her head on her knees. She was trying to think about her options, what she could do about her problems that were piling up. That was until a voice startled her from her thoughts.
“Hello there, neighbor.”
Millie gasped. Her ears shot straight up as she quickly lifted her head from her knees. There was a man standing beside the fence leading to her hiding spot. He was short, about the same height as her, his hair was blue and curly and pulled up into a messy roll on top. Curls fell loose beside his ears and down between his eyes. He was dressed nicely with striped pants, a white button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up, suspenders, and a red ascot. A too large jacket was draped around his shoulders and he had his hands in his pockets. But the thing that was most notable about him was the scar over his right eye.
The eye was closed, she wondered if that meant it was gone. His other eye was trained on her, half lidded with an almost lazy look. He was smiling, so at least it didn’t seem like he was mad to find her here.
“I don’t mean to interrupt but I heard you crying.”
“Oh! I’m so sorry, is this your garden? I didn’t mean to intrude, I didn't think anyone was here.” She started to get up, wiping at her eyes again. “It is, but that’s alright, I usually come here to be alone, but it seems like you needed some alone time too.” He said with a laid back smile on his face. She couldn’t help but blush in embarrassment at getting caught, happy her face was so hidden behind her hair.
“I’m really sorry, I’ll just go.” Millie started to move from the corner she was in.
“You can’t leave yet, you’ve made me so curious why a beautiful girl like you is crying by herself in my garden.” He gave her a charming smile. “Please, walk with me. I’ll show you around the garden and you can tell me about it.” He tilted his head to gesture that she should come over to him. He had an intimidating air that she couldn’t quite place. It felt like he must be in charge of something, he had a commanding presence. She really didn’t want to upset him but she also knew not to trust strange men. He must be rich and powerful, she thought, for him to own such a large beautiful garden in the middle of the city.
He must have sensed her hesitation. “I promise I’m a good listener.” That was it, she couldn’t just walk away when he was being so nice about it. And honestly? She really could use someone to talk to, and she didn’t have anyone else at the moment. She smiled. “Alright. I would love to see the garden after all. I used to do some gardening myself, this place is magnificent.”
He led them over to a brick pathway that wound its way through the whole garden. He slowly walked beside her with even relaxed steps, pointing out a couple of things here and there that he liked most. About halfway through he slowed his pace. “So tell me, what brought you to my garden?”
She looked away. “Oh it all feels so silly now.”
“I’d like to hear about it anyway.” There was a slight tone in his voice that made her feel like this was more of a demand than a request. “Well, I moved to this city only a couple months ago. I moved in with my grandparents cause they are the only family I have left and I had nowhere else to go after my mom died. I didn’t have enough money to support myself at the time and they were nice enough to let me stay.” She started to fidget with her hands again. “But..they have changed since I was little. They have very strong expectations for people and have rigid ideas on what a person should be and do with their life. I ended up lying to them about what I was doing for work because I knew they wouldn’t like it.”
“What do you do?”
“I’m a bartender. I really enjoy it actually, despite the drawbacks.” He nodded in understanding. “But this morning they found out what I had been doing. They were so mad, more than I thought they would be. They said what I was doing was sinful and that if I was going to do the devil's work that I wasn’t allowed to live there anymore. Not only that, they told me that they were disowning me, that I wasn’t their granddaughter anymore.” Her voice was tight, trying to swallow the tears that were forming again.
“I’m sorry to hear that. Family should be there for each other no matter what. And disowning family? Just deciding you don’t want to be family anymore? It doesn’t make sense. Family is for life.” There was something intense in the way he talked about it. “You must be very close to your family.” Millie prompted. “Oh yes, my family is everything to me.” She smiled. “That sounds so nice.” There was longing in her voice. They continued walking in silence for a moment.
“You know, that doesn’t actually explain how you ended up here in the garden.” “Oh yeah. Well, it’s sort of related. Like I said, I work at a bar nearby and a couple of days ago there were these two guys in there giving me a hard time. I work alone most of the time, except for the bouncer of course. They were so drunk and just wouldn’t leave me alone and I finally had to kick them out. They were pretty upset about it. They kept yelling and threatening to send the mob after me for treating them like that. It did freak me out a little.”
“The mob, huh?” He said, a hint of mirth in his voice. “What did these guys look like?” She described them to him and he hummed. “Sounds about right. I don’t think you’ll have to worry about them. Either they were lying about being in with the mob or they are so low level that no one will care if they got kicked out of some bar.” “Oh really? That’s honestly such a relief. I’m not trying to get on someone’s bad side right after I just got to this town.” Millie stopped for a moment to admire a bush of incredible multi-colored hydrangeas.
“Anyway, today I was taking a walk trying to clear my head and I just happened to see those men ahead on the street coming towards me. I was so upset from getting kicked out earlier and I really didn’t want to chance anything happening with them so I came down the alley over there.” She pointed to the fence where you could see a gap in the buildings on the other side. “I think they saw me cause they started following me down the alley. So I jumped the fence and ended up here.”
“You…jumped the fence? There’s razor wire at the top, how did you manage…?” She stuck out a foot, showing off her bare rabbit feet. “I’m really good at jumping high.” She laughed and continued her story. “Luckily it doesn’t seem like they kept following me. I was just so overwhelmed that I sat down and cried.” She turned her face away from him, feeling a little ashamed. “I cry really easy, people tend to call me a crybaby.” She laughed at herself a little.
“There’s no shame in crying, neighbor. All of that sounds like you are justified. I think I'd even shed some tears if I lost my family.” She looked back to him, giving him an appreciative smile. “So that’s it, that’s my sad story.”
“Hmm.” He thought for a moment. “What I’m hearing is that you need a new place to stay.” Her head fell forward slightly. “Yeah, I guess I do. I was planning on staying at a motel or something till I can find a new place.” She knew she shouldn’t be offering up so much information about herself to him, he was still just a stranger, but there was something about him that made her want to tell him everything.
“No, we can’t have that, neighbor.” He stopped beside a bush of beautiful shasta daisies, leaning down to pick one. He twirled the stem between his fingers. She noticed he had a silver ring on every finger on both hands.
“I know an apartment building nearby, it’s very nice, recently built. Rent’s high but I’ll give them a call and tell them I know someone looking for a place and ask them to lower rent to match what you can afford. How does that sound?” Millie was silent for a moment, shocked by the offer. “Really? That’s…that’s amazing…and..way too generous of you. We’ve only just met and you’d do that for me?”
He laughed, it was an awkward stuttered laugh, but it felt genuine. “Of course. I couldn’t very well just let you leave here knowing you had nowhere to go. Here…” He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a business card. “This is the place. Give them a call later and they’ll get you sorted out.” She took the card and just stared at it like it was too good to be true. “Wow, how can I ever thank you for helping me like this?” He brought his hand to his chin as if he were considering it. “I’d like you to stay in touch, and go out to dinner with me sometime.” Her face felt hot. “Well I suppose that’s the least I can do to repay you for helping me like this.” “Deal?” He reached out as if to shake on it. She took his hand and laughed, shaking it. “Deal.”
He turned to keep walking along the path. “There is only a little more to see, then I’ll show you the door so you can leave without hopping over the fence.” She winced. “Sorry again about that.” She could feel him looking at her so she tried to pretend not to notice.
“What do you know about the local mob?” He asked suddenly. “It’s just that you mentioned those men and I’ve been wondering how much you know since you’re so new in town.”
“Hmmm, I know some stuff. I hear things in passing working at the bar. As far as I know there are two main families in this town. The Flowers?” He nodded stiffly. “And the other is the Home family I think?” “Yeah that’s right.” He was looking at her again. She almost felt like he was testing her. So she tried to offer more. “I really don’t know much beyond that. Oh! I do know the names of the heads of each family. There’s Aster Flowers, for the Flowers family of course, and the other is Wally Darling if I remember right. The guys at the bar talking about it said he was pretty scary. I’d really hate to get on his bad side, so I hope you’re right that he wouldn’t come after me.”
He laughed again, lighting touching his fingertips to his forehead. “I don’t think you have anything to worry about.” He raised his hand, gently placing the daisy in her hair behind her ear. She felt butterflies fluttering in her stomach. There was just something so charming about him. He felt dangerous in a way but she couldn’t help but feel drawn in. They finally reached a gate that led out back to the street.
“Let me ask one last favor, let's say as ‘payment’ for entering my garden.” She laughed awkwardly again. “My sob story wasn’t enough?” “Not quite.” He sounded serious. “Um, sure.” That made her nervous, what if it was something she didn’t want to say or do?
“Let me see your eyes.”
“My eyes?” She asked. Well that was certainly much better than anything else that had flashed through her mind. “Yes.” He said, staring at her intently. She looked away for a moment. “Alright, I suppose.” She didn’t really mind, there was nothing to hide, well except for her face in general, but that was more of a comfort thing than an insecure thing. She reached up and pushed her bangs out of the way of her eyes. “It’s not like they're anything special.” She laughed to herself. He was silent for a moment. Actually maybe she was starting to feel insecure.
“Beautiful.”
Her eyes darted to his, he was so focused on her it made the heat rise in her cheeks again but this time she couldn’t hide it. His pupil dilated and his smile grew. After a moment he lightly shook his head. “Sorry for staring, but you have lovely eyes. Also that heart on your cheek is a surprise.”
She dropped her bangs, feeling safe again from having her emotions on such obvious display. “Oh yeah, I’ve always had that, kids used to tease me about it.” Ske mentally kicked herself a little, why had she said that. She thought that she better get out of there soon, this was all very intense and she felt like she needed time to breathe and think about all of this. He was staring again despite his apology for doing so, it gave her goosbumps. She thought she better thank him again and get going.
“Thank you again, mister…” She stopped, eyes going wide. “Oh! Where are my manners! You’ve been so kind and I haven’t even introduced myself.” She stuck out her hand. “I’m Millie Morning!” The smile that appeared on his face could have made her melt. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Millie.” He took her hand in his.
“I’m Wally, Wally Darling.”

Frank, let’s say hypothetically I or a friend has a cocaine addiction. How, hypothetically, would one go about fixing that?
I am no expert on dealing with drug issues or drug addiction in particular, and it is possible I may not have the most up-to-date (or correct) views. (My drug posts were made years ago, as were my posts on addiction.) I'm going to try to keep this general and avoid specifics.
When I was in school, I had an issue with substance use that my mother and I have discussed openly in the past. As I'm not sure I've talked about in those posts, a certain portion of the time I was also drinking, which led to various issues. If you've read those posts, you can probably get a sense of what I was going through.
To make a long story short, what helped a lot was the approach of not allowing yourself to keep using alcohol or drugs, and taking the time to figure out why you use them, what they accomplish in your life, why they are such a drag (for me, the answer is that I drink in large amounts with my friends and family, which is socially pleasant but has negative effects on my body). You need to know these things not because of "science" but because it helps you know what to do in the future and figure out what your needs are. You may want to use some sort of evidence here, but again, I'm no expert on this stuff, and I was never particularly good at taking action based on evidence.
Anyway, I was still heavily drinking on weekends, and the more I would drink the more I would drink. On some nights, I would get so sick from drinking that I was unable to get out of bed the next morning. I used to have a drinking partner whom I had a very deep, intimate and loving relationship with, but this eventually ended. (A big part of my problem is that I tended to feel I owed her this, but I think she ended up realizing I really wasn't capable of fulfilling a "friendship" role for her or anyone.)
Once I figured out this stuff, I didn't just stop drinking -- I started to drink in smaller amounts to keep the effects of alcohol in check (this is when the cocaine thing came up). Some of the drinking was also accompanied by an increasing use of amphetamines -- I still took amphetamines in college, but I later found that amphetamines were causing me some serious problems and I stopped them.
As far as I know, this was basically the right approach. At least for me, it's not the kind of thing you can get through a "treatment plan," it's the kind of thing you have to gradually work out, but you can probably get pretty far along in terms of "I'm no longer drinking to excess."
I've also heard from several people (e.g. from the person I just linked) that they got sober by seeing a "treatment plan" that involved them giving up drinking all together (with no substitution, like "take these pills"). This was not for me -- drinking is still not a good idea for me but, having reached the point where the problem was "I'm too drunk," I didn't take it as a serious treatment plan.
And then there are the people who don't drink at all, which is fine for them, but that's not for me.
(For the record, I've found that a mix of two things helps a lot. First, being very very very honest with myself about what alcohol does to my body and how it makes me feel. I also try to make sure to keep myself in a situation where I know I'm going to drink no matter what, or I can stop drinking with the effort of a single step -- a sort of "no drinking plan" for the next several days, where I try not to drink if I know I'll be doing so anyway in an hour or two.)
This all was probably way too long to answer the question you're actually asking. Sorry, I really can't be any more specific here.

It Happened One Night
Tumblr media
I decided to give this little thing a title. Let me know what you think! Link to Part 1
Part 2:
Emma’s POV
“What the fuck was that Peter?”
“That guy was 30 seconds away from drugging you and taking you god knows where.”
He was hot on my heels and part of me burned from anger of being humiliated while part of me burned from how unbelievably sexy he looked trying to protect me. I would never admit that.
“Do you have proof? That he was going to drug me?”
“Well no. But I sensed something was off.” He scoffed.
“And why is that?” We were climbing into the car that had been brought around for us and I felt his hand graze the small of my back while guiding me into the car.
“Because a girl approached me at the bar saying he was a drug dealer. I am sorry but my responsibility is to keep you safe and I felt like something wasn’t right and it was the best thing for me to do. I am sorry if I embarrassed you.” He looked sincere.
The clock read 2:00 AM in the black suburban we rode in. I always go out on weekends primarily because I am boarded up during the week in my hot apartment, which reminds me I still need to get the air fixed. I am also so tired from work each night that I barely feel like socializing. I feel bad never speaking to Peter but I talk to patients every day, the last thing I want to do when I get home is talk. I’ve worked as a physician assistant for the last 3 years and while I love my job, it gets busy.
Peter is sweet. Probably one of the nicest agents I have met. He keeps his distance, is polite, and I always feel safe when he is around. I never wanted this life. The life where my parents were always being watched and therefore so was I. I am happy for my mom, but I hate having people always follow me and watching my every move. Especially knowing there are people in this world who don’t like us. I think I grew up naïve in the way of thinking that everyone should be liked.
“Here is your bag. You left it with me.”
“You didn’t take anything did you? Cause then I would have to report you.”
I saw him smirk from the corner of my eye and he bit his tongue.
“Nope, everything is there.”
I felt bad for leaving Alicia but she’s always been fully capable of taking care of herself. I had a feeling if I left then she would be close behind. She has been my friend ever since we started PA school and then she dropped out. She said it wasn’t for her and I respected that.
I saw Peter grimacing and reached for his left shoulder.
“You ok there big guy?”
“Yeah, just still recovering from a little injury.”
“Oh yeah? What happened?”
I actually worked as an orthopedic PA so my knowledge was well versed in injuries. But I don’t think he knew that.
“I uh, I tore it.”
“Well, uh maybe I can take a look at it later. I mean, if you want me to.”
“And why would you do that?”
“Because I might know a little more about it than you do. I see a lot of injured people every day.”
I didn’t intend to be harsh.
“Sorry, I just assumed you knew. I work as an orthopedic physician assistant so I am constantly seeing people with injuries and stuff.”
“Yeah. No that would be great.” He smiled and I smiled. A warm feeling in my stomach bubbled and I looked away quickly.
It had been almost 2 years since I last dated someone. My ex boyfriend was a freeloader and when my mom got elected it got even worse. He didn’t take it well and at times I worried he might show up unannounced. I was glad Peter had been around most nights. I doubt my ex would ever try anything but occasionally I would get messages from an unknown number and deep down I knew it was him.
We arrived to my apartment and it was about 2:15. I hadn’t done my routine for the evening but would get to it in the morning.
I walked inside and checked my thermostat. It still read 75 degrees. I pushed the button to see if anything would happen and to no surprise nothing did.
“Your air not working?” Peter startled me. I forgot he was still on duty until 7AM.
“Uhh no…I was supposed to have it fixed but I’ve kind of put it on the back burner.”
“Is that why it’s been so hot in here?” He looked slightly concerned.
I gave him a deadpan look, “ha, yeah. Have you not tried to lower it?”
“No I just figured you liked it warm! I can call someone for you if you’d like.”
“No. No. It’s ok. I’ll deal with it tomorrow.”
I walked off and went to get ready for bed. I heard Peter fill a glass of water and then he fed my cat, Lucia.
After my very cold shower I made sure everything was clean and got ready to go to bed.
“Feel free to take a shower if you need. Towels are in the closet.” He nodded and as I closed my door I felt the urge to say goodnight,” hey Peter. Thank you. I know I was kind of a bitch earlier but I really appreciate it.”
“Don’t mention it.”
——
Peter’s POV:
I knew if I had not gotten Emma out of that club, something bad would have happened. I didn’t want to embarrass her but I knew my job had to be done.
Our ride back to her place started out quiet until I realized I was still holding on to her bag.
“Here is your bag. You left it with me.” I don’t even know if she remembered.
“You didn’t take anything did you? Cause then I would have to report you.”
My stomach fluttered and her playful sarcasm made me almost bust out laughing.
“Nope, everything is there.”
Emma was sitting in the middle seat with myself and Agent Parker on the other side of her. It wasn’t particularly tight but how I was sitting caused my shoulder to start hurting. I may have been tensed up after the entire situation. I grimaced trying to move it.
“You ok there big guy?”
“Yeah, just still recovering from a little injury.”
“Oh yeah? What happened?”
I didn’t want to tell her too much. She offered to help me and I would definitely take her up on the offer.
We arrived to her apartment and upon walking inside it felt so much worse than it had earlier. She mentioned she had not had time to get her air fixed but denied my offer to help her with getting it fixed. One of my best friends just so happened to be a technician and I decided to text him to see if he would come fix it tomorrow. She couldn’t live in this god-awful heat box.
I heard Emma turn on her shower and figured I would help her out by feeding her cat who was walking in and out of between my legs.
I heard her cut the water off in her bathroom and decided to begin to get comfortable in her apartment for the night as I was there until 7 tomorrow morning.
I decided to take a shower and was glad I had kept the extra set of underwear in my backpack. Honestly, her shower felt amazing. My apartment is great but the shower has no pressure. This one…god damn I did not want to get out. But I couldn’t sleep in here, that would be weird.
I went back to check my phone to see if my friend had returned my text and he said he would gladly come and fix Emma’s air conditioner. I looked at the clock on my phone and did not realize how tired I was but I had to stay awake until the morning. I turned the TV on and tried to find a show to keep me awake.
I checked out of her apartment window to ensure that no one had followed us and to check that the guys were still out there on watch.
I sat down on her couch and watched whatever was playing on TV and settled in for the evening.
I would sit and wait until the morning and then leave a note that someone was coming to fix her air.

I am Eastern European! I am unfortunately not going to celebration, those tickets are expensive and I would have to find transport and accommodation in London.
I haven't been to Italy, but Croatia is beautiful! I definitely recommend visiting there.
Since ep.14 is already out and I watched it this morning, I won't comment much on our theories- if you want to discuss and gush about today's episode with me, I've sent you an invite on discord!
With today's episode I felt like some threads were tied, like how does Echo come back to the Batch, how do they find out that Cross needs help and the literal 1,5-year-old question of Howzer's whereabouts. We still don't know what Hemlock is after, how he wants to use Omega, what's gonna happen to Cross, how do Cid and Scorch play into the whole thing? What is going to happen during the summit (I think in the episode they said it would be an event? Like, an actual summit of important people?). There is still a lot we don't know.
I love writing these elaborate descriptions that poke fun at the characters or situations :P
As for R2/Chopper team-up: I think that in R2's case, he didn't really enjoy it per se, it was just something he had to do to keep his humans safe, he is not intrinsically an evil mech. But Chopper? That astromech is a damn sociopath. He enjoys seeing people in pain and some stuff he does is downright evil- he wanted to blow up a tie fighter with a confirmed baby on board. He actually did blow up a ship with thousands of crew on it. He threw another robot out of the Ghost's hatch and was proud of it. He keeps throwing stuff at the crew and keeps zapping people in the back. He was happy when Ezra almost fell to his death during training when he stumbled off the ship. I think the only person Chopper loves is Hera, other than that? That astromech is just, pure evil.
I know! Britain is just full of accents! The one I am learning atm is RP, but I think each one has some cool features! And yeah, Scottish and Irish are a bit similar, especially since both are rhotic, and Aussie and Kiwi are both non-rhotic for a change! Also, Aussie and Kiwi both have raised vowels, so they do sound a bit similar. And yeah, listening to authentic speech definitely helps, but whenever I listen to too many American accents my r and the palm vowel come back to taunt me haha And thank YOU for believing I can get the hang of my accent!
I don't think I will ever be ready for Rex's death. And I totally agree that they should do it in animation, I think that at this point the only way I can see Rex is animated. Although with the Ahsoka show coming, which is live-action, and Rex being an important character in Ahsoka's (and the ghost crew folks) life, maybe we will see him in Tem's interpretation. But I think it would be poetic if we start with animation and end with the animation too. I just, I love the art style so much.
I am glad you think my ideas are good, if only I had the motivation to get them on paper haha. And you have a degree in creative writing? Any tips for someone with a very stubborn writer's block? And thank you for linking me your ao3, @arlothia! I will be sure to check it out!
Tell me what you think because I realised this shit as I was falling asleep and I now I can't go unless I get it out there:
Does the colour scheme of the background sort of look like the colour scheme of the houses and buildings on Pabu?
Tumblr media
So, theory: Cid didn't sound...normal? the last time she contacted the guys and it's actually because the empire has gotten hold of her to try to bait the bad batch into coming into contact with her again. Well, that didn't work, so Cid suggests contacting Echo alone and tells him about Cross needing help (she knows the group has split) and that checks the "Cid is going to betray them" checkbox. Echo and Rex fall for it, contact the rest of the batch because they are going to need as much help as they can get in infiltrating Tantiss, and head to Pabu to rendezvous. That's where we get the long awaited Echo and Omega reunion. The group head to Tantiss, get Crosshair out, but in the process Omega is captured. Fall of 94′: Eddie Munson x Black Reader Chapter 3
summary:
it’s been nearly 8 years since the events of hawkins and out of the entire party, the only one to stay behind is the one and only eddie munson. with a five year old daughter in tow, his life is a simple one, still trying to escape the dark cloud over him that never went away.
but when all too familiar hellish events start happening again eddie must team up with his daughter’s favorite and mysterious new teacher to protect his little girl and the town he owes nothing to.
warnings: violence, gore,  religious trauma,  soft dom! eddie, discussions of mental health and ptsd,  praise kink,  smut to end all smut,  hawkins indiana is a warning to me.  minors dni
yall aint ready for this chapter
When you got to your classroom, you already had a visitor in the form of Vice Principal Carver, itchy ill fitting suit and all, sitting in your desk chair.
“Good morning Principal Carver, how can I help you?” You asked, trying not to cringe as the man put his feet on your desk, resting them on top of your kids’ art projects.
“ Principal Tucker  is checking in with all our staff this morning about yesterday’s events. There will be an assembly for the students later on this afternoon but I told him I wanted to see you personally.” He said, finally standing to his feet and sauntering up to you.
“Oh, well that’s very nice of your Principal Carver but I’m fine. It was a difficult day but the kids and I got through it the best we could.”
“We’ve heard such good things about your class so far, your teachers across the hall have nothing but nice things to say about you.”
“That’s good to hear.” You said with a small smile he did not return but instead moved closer to you than what was necessary.
“ It’s almost like you were dropped out of the sky, sent to help us in our time of need.  You know I don’t think Tucker ever told me what school you were at prior to Hawkins?  I haven’t had a chance to read over your file just yet.”
“I was at Abbott Elementary in Philadelphia, left for a change of pace. Is there something I can do for you Principal Carver?  My students will be in from breakfast in a few minutes and I need to get things started.”  You said, putting some bass in your voice.
That made him smile and he pointed  at the name on the desk in the back.
“Rose Munson is also why I’m here. Should you have any issues with her, you will come to me directly.”
“I should?”
“ Her embarrassment of a father  went to school with my late brother, so I feel it is my responsibility to make sure his offspring is brought to heel as early as possible.  You are new to Hawkins and you are unaware of the good and bad this town has to offer so I trust you’ll keep an eye on things?”
“With all due respect Vice Principal Carver, should I have any issues with any of my students I will handle it myself and with their parents should it escalate to that.  I may be unaware of certain things in this town but I’m not unaware of how to protect my students, Rosie Munson included.  Now if you’ll excuse me-
You’re interrupted when the actual principal pops his head in, flanked by two police officers. Your heart is in your throat but they don’t even look in your direction.
“Carver, we’ve got a situation, let’s go. “ Tucker explains.
“Hawkins is a good town full of good people, it might be in your best interest to come to heel like everyone else.” Carver whispered in your ear before leaving.
The moment he steps through the threshold of the classroom, every single door in the hallway slams closed, including yours.
As if on cue, a few of your kids come racing in, putting away their stuff, no knowledge of what had just transpired.
You quickly wipe the blood from your nose and greet your students as the rest file in.
“Good morning class!”
“Good morning Miss!”  They recite back, taking their seats.
“ Now yesterday was pretty tough and it’s okay if you were scared. It’s okay if you’re still scared right now but you don’t have to be, as long as I am here, you should never be afraid of anything. What does Miss always say?”
“ Rain or shine, if we work together we’ll be just fine.”
“ Exactly. Now we’re gonna take it easy today so take your color pencils and we'll draw for a bit, how does that sound?”
“Yay!”
“ Great, let’s get started and then if anyone would like to, we can share something fun we're doing this weekend.”
The day ends quieter than it started and with a big hug from Rosie, you send them off to their buses in the pouring rain.
It’s dark  by the time you leave school but you’re not too worried.
Carver be damned, today was a good day.
A day for the longest time you’d never thought to be possible, a prepared daydream during your worst days, silly to others but so important  to you risked everything for it.
Everything was going to be fine.
Except for the brief moment you took your eyes off the road, glancing at the bandana in your passenger seat only to look up and see someone standing in the middle of the road.
The last thing you see before your car crashes into a tree is the figure in the road coming into full view.
A girl in a cheerleading uniform.
“Before we wrap up for today, how have you been sleeping Eddie? Any more nightmares?”
Eddie sighed, ceasing playing with his rings, careful in the way he answers his therapist. He called them for an emergency appointment after Rosie’s horror story yesterday and immediately regretted that decision seeing as “ I think the hell spawn from another dimension that nearly killed me is back and wants a rematch” was not an acceptable answer to “ what brings you in today?”
“The pills help but I don’t like them. I mean,what if Rosie needs something in the middle of the night and I’m so under I can’t hear her?”
“We can lower the dosage if that’s what you’d like but I think we need to build a better framework for combating your anxiety. There’s something at the root of all this that we haven’t explored yet and when you’re ready, we can do that.  Do you feel meeting me today helped?”
“As much as it could.” He responded, the first honest answer he had given since he walked in.
“You know, you won’t give me the exact details of what happened to you and that’s alright, maybe you’ll never be ready to disclose that.  Whatever happened to you, you came out the other side of it, Eddie. Something terrible happened to you but that doesn’t make you any less of a person or a father.”
“You sure about that, Doc?”
“ Mr. Munson, your life is not a series of atonements and at the heart of the matter, you only change what’s right in front of you.  I’ll see that we get you a new prescription and let’s get you scheduled for another session soon.”
 They exchanged goodbyes and feeling no better than when he came in, headed to the nearest payphone to check in with Wayne and his wife who were watching Rosie for the weekend.
Night munchkin, be good for Uncle Wayne, okay?”
“I’m always good Daddy!”
First night alone in months, he didn’t know if he was  looking forward to or afraid of the quiet that  awaited him back home.
The idea of fixing his guitar with a few beers went out the window as he drove up on a car smashed into a tree, hood still smoking in the rain.
He could keep driving, report it from a payphone and keep moving. No doubt they’d find a way to pin this on him, the final push to drive him out of Hawkins.
But Rosie wouldn’t want him to just run away and after all these years, he made a promise to himself to never run away from the dark ever again.
So that’s what led him, armed with a flashlight and a pocket knife, to emerge from his car, hoping he wouldn’t be introduced to a charred body.
“ Hello, is anybody out here? Can you hear me? I can get some help, you just need to make some noise. “ He bellowed, shining his light into the car only to see smashed glass and a bandana.
His bandana.
“Shit, shit, shit!”  The apprehension he had vanished and caused him to break out into a run on the slick road, racing around the car to check the backseat and trunk but there was no sign of you.
A whimper coming from under the car had Eddie on his knees in an instant, the flashlight rolling away from him but that didn’t stop him from reaching out a hand.
“Hang on, I’m gonna get you out! You’re gonna be okay, just don’t go into the light!”  He shouted, fumbling for your hand in the dark with one hand while grabbing the flashlight with the other.
Eddie finally managed to get the flashlight on, aiming it under the car to better see you but what he found sent him scrambling.
Before he could even cry out, the cause of his nightmares had its tail around his neck, yanking him across the road, the demobat’s grip growing tighter around his windpipe no doubt ready to make up for lost time.
This was it, the upside down had finally come to finish what it started.
At least Rosie wasn’t there to see her father die.
He’d never see his daughter again.
His vision swam, rain and lack of oxygen turning everything to a blur as he tried to reach for the switchblade in his pocket but the bat was faster, teeth mere inches away from sinking into his throat.
But then that doesn’t happen.
A wild cry split the sky as the demobat was ripped from his body, exploding like confetti in mid air before falling in pieces on the road.
Choking and sputtering, Eddie shakily got to his feet, flashlight in hand and blade out aiming in the direction of the scream only for you to come out of the shadows, soaking wet with your arm outstretched in the direction of the bat, blood dripping trickling out of your nose.
Eddie had only seen one other person bleed like that in his life.
“ I can explain.” You muttered weakly before your eyes rolled back into your head, collapsing into the rocker’s arms.
“Jesus H. Christ.”

PART 13 / 25. PART 14 LINK.
╭──────────────────────╮
areum woke up to a bed in breakfast, the sweet smell of waffles in the morning made her inner child dance with joy. she always had a sweet tooth for sweet breakfast, but she can’t always eat sweet. but i suppose pregnancy short cut, jeno would do anything to satisfy the pregnant woman. on the side of the table next to the warm waffles, indicating it wasn’t long till areum woke up with the breakfast being made, it also contained fruits with strawberries and apples.
she’d sit up taking the plate lightly, pushing two pillows to sit up as they made the sitting position less uncomfortable, resting on the lower spine area. she wondered where jeno was.
speaking of the devil, jeno came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around the waistline, shamelessly showing the abs and the beautiful structure of his body. he smiles seeing areum awake and eating, turning to the closet. he felt her eyes on him for a few minutes before turning back to areum with a shirt in his hands.
“how you feeling?” jeno would ask with a slight smug, areum looking on the side clearing the throat. she can’t help but check out her boyfriend. his body had small droplets of water from the shower still running down the back. “i’m happy, sweet breakfast was served.” areum replies looking up.
jeno hums putting on the shirt and the lower clothing, areum was still feeling like this was just a dream and stuff; but she was thrilled to know jeno was alive. he sits on the edge of the bed bringing areum’s face where he pecks her forehead lovingly. “good, stay and relax alright. no more work either.”
areum groaning as her face fell on jeno’s shoulder, he laughs at the cute reaction, stroking back some hairs. “what will i do if i can’t work?” areum follows the convo. he’d hum, “well, we can figure it out together won’t we?”
she smiles at the cute answer pulling away. “i guess we will.” the two shared the comforting silence as their eyes watch each other so fondly.
“oh right,” areum spoke up nomming on the strawberry, jeno nodding to show he was listening. “will you let jaemin know you’re alive? or do you want to stay hidden for a bit considering yuta believes you’re actually dead?”
the man stood quiet, he felt bad lying to his own comrades and best friend but it will generally do a good surprise attack if yuta believes he is dead. areum already caught on too, so jeno simply hums in agreement. “keep it a secret, i’ll end the war once and for all. I’ll return to you and the baby alive.”
areum looking down at the second strawberry she brought it up to jeno’s lips, he leans down biting it with a short smile. “i’ll be waiting then, stay safe.” she’d say.
jeno pauses. “but for now, I’ll stay with you until you leave the cabin.” areum felt overwhelming amount of happiness and serotonin run the body, eyes lighting up at the words. she’d lean towards jeno holding his face in the hands. “i’m happier now.” areum tells softly.
jisung spoke on the call for about a hour and a half, who could it possibly be? it’s his girlfriend. the couple have a specific time to end considering phone bills are expensive as hell. but sometimes it’s hard to end the call when they want to speak together more and more.
their time limit was past that. jisung whining, “mina end the callll, our phone bill will be massive.” the girl on the other side of the call was quick to reply. “ Ji, i told you to do it.”
Haechan walking past the boy making vomiting sounds, jisung glaring at the annoying older he grabs the nearest pillow throwing it to the tan boy who ran away when seeing jisung grab the nearest object to throw. mina speaking, “i miss you so much, let’s meet soon again, yeah?”
jisung smiles ear to ear, he’s so whipped for her it’s unbelievable. “mhmm, i promise to meet you soon.”
The two shared a small laugh before jisung spoke again, shyly this time. “i love you mina.”
mina swore she blushed and jisung could see it through the phone call despite there being no camera involved. mina trailing with a happy tone. “I love you too, ji. i’ll end the call now alright? let’s text each other when we are able to.” mina reconfigured, jisung humming in agreement as he heard her ‘i love you back’, heart skipping a few large steps.
the call ended after a large beep heard. he closes his phone as he sighs looking up at the ceiling. he can’t wait to meet mina, it’s been a few months now that he hasn’t seen her. often they would FaceTime, sleep call and play games together when they are unable to see each other. heck, mina even did a cooking video call with jisung watching her make cook eggs— it didn’t really go that well considering jisung saw small flame.
nevertheless the chaotic youthful couple were making what they can out of the relationship. but now he can’t even face time her without mina being suspicious of the surroundings. he isn’t home. there are many loud soldiers that can distract him and mina too.
he will wait patiently. jisung has something planned actually for mina when he will see her face to face.
Haechan returns after running away for his life from a pillow, standing with a jelly packet as he noms on it. jisung watching haechan with a sting eye.
hyuck shrugging shoulders. “what?”
jisung murmuring without any interest and kindness towards haechan, “nothing.” haechan raising eyebrow he sat next to jisung. “something is up, I’m all ears.”
the younger boy facing his hyung that he doesn’t necessarily get along with the most, was willing to hear his worries and plans. Haechan smiles gently, “I get you, you don’t feel that safe sharing your thoughts but if it makes you feel better I’m probably the most honest person to share their opinion to you.”
he was right. Haechan wouldn’t sugarcoat it for jisung, jaemin might sugarcoat it considering he doesn’t want jisung to get hurt by facts and truth.
“alright, fair point.” jisung tilts his head giving in the nosey boy. hyuck smirks, “how long have you been with your girlfriend?”
“a year and a half.” jisung proudly says, haechan hawking forward in surprise. “whoa that’s a while, when will it be two years?”
“September, I really want to make our two years special though. i do have an idea but I’m not sure if that’s good enough.” he softly responds, haechan relaxing back. “what’s your idea?”
the boy’s face went slightly red especially those hamster baby face cheeks, hyuck smirking at the sight teasingly eyeing jisung. “i actually bought an apartment in the city with the money I’ve worked and saved for three years. it has two keys, one for me and one for mina.”
“I thought it might be a good idea considering we don’t really want to do another year of long distance. our love language is touch too so we can’t really feel satisfied being far away, so I was thinking maybe moving in together was the best idea.” jisung admits, though won’t that make him look clingy? maybe mina doesn’t want to move out anytime soon?
Haechan personally saw moving in as a next level of the relationship and it sorta made sense. they’re both young adults, why not? “I think that’s a very mature idea jisung, you should do it.”
“you think so?” jisung turns his head to the tan boy who nods multiple times. “yeah! I’m sure she feels the same as you. when the war ends, you should totally do it.”
for once jisung and haechan got along, over relationship advice.
jaemin and renjun cross a red X with a sharp board pen on the map that was circled. another warehouse that areum gave information from previously, destroyed and everything. all that’s left is one more warehouse and that will surely hold yuta’s base there.
renjun turns to jaemin with a serious look. “we will finish it, for jeno’s death.”
jaemin slowly nods with a sadden facial expression, renjun empathetically patting the man’s shoulder. “i’m sorry jaemin. for now let’s keep areum safe, she has the heir.”
the man wasn’t sure how to feel with a child being brought up in the mafia world honestly. for jeno it did not turn out well, for jaemin it’s the same. jaemin slowly spoke, “i don’t think i want to put pressure on his child, but it’s really not my choice to make.”
“but i don’t think areum would want her child to be raised straight into overbearing power of killings.”
ms kim would watch areum roaming the large backyard with the twins playing too. doyoung and jeno coming back to the long summer table with snacks and fulfilling fun size food to eat for everyone.
areum laughing in the distance with the tennis ball thrown far away, the dog running to fetch it. dalli and daehyun chasing the dog as if it were a competition to get the tennis ball first.
doyoung turns around to jeno, noticing the heart eyes watching areum enjoying the sunshine and calming day. “you’re so whipped, jeno.” he teased. jeno lightly scoffing, “trust me I’m more than whipped for areum.”
the older man grins at those words from the younger male, resting on his wife’s side. “jisoo taste the nachos, they’re pretty decent.” doyoung told as he finger fed his wife, who gave him a slight jokingly glare. “suddenly?” jisoo laughs, eating the chip anyways.
areum watching the dog with the children chase around each other as if it were a tag game, a sudden muscular soft gentle grip from behind was held with the hands under the belly bump. she swiftly turns her head only ajar.
“want to go and sit down?” jeno perks forward, areum softly nodding, holding hands once he lets go. the two made their way to the table with the other couple, sitting down once arriving.
jisoo smiles passing forward the snacks, areum not hesitating to devour her own plate of foods. honestly she’s getting more comfortable with eating larger portions! jeno sitting by, the couples were casually chatting amongst each other.
the man looks down to the swollen feet, awaiting the moment, doyoung and jisoo left the table to bring more lemonade for everyone. areum humming happily with a satisfied stomach. “that was some good nacho’s not going to lie.” areum told.
jeno shifts reaching to areum’s swollen ankles allowing both feet to rest on his legs. areum wide eyes looks around before shifting upwards, whispering. “yah what’s wrong?” she mutters. jeno softly pressed pressure on the reddish coloured ankles— massaging them.
a soft whine heard she leans back relaxing, the woman always had high tendencies to get swollen feet but that only happens when wearing high heels, though now it’s becoming more prominent to happen when she is pregnant. jeno looks at areum with a soft worried expression. “does it hurt? tell me when I’m hurting you, I’ll stop.” he trails, areum quick to speak back. “no, no. it’s a good type of pain, continue.”
this felt very deja vu to them. it’s not the first time he’s massaged her ankles. areum looking around cautiously. “this is embarrassing.”
jeno smirks. “don’t act like it’s your first time, nothing embarrassing about it anyways baby.” he’d reassure, areum squinting eyes at the man, sarcastically laughing. “aha ha ha, im surprised you remembered because i almost forgot.”
to keep the banter up, jeno loves his face forward to the woman, mischievous glint in the eyes. “how can i forget that when you looked hot in that satin dress?” areum’s lips part as she gently tapping hits the man’s chest, glancing back to the children approaching them. “yah be careful the kids are coming back!” areum scolds as her cheeks change colour to reddish tan.
dalli and daehyun hop on the couples lap together, dalli onto jeno’s as daehyun cuddled onto areum’s lap very securely and gently. the girl would shyly look at jeno when the man smiles. “could i get the honour of getting a kiss here please?” jeno said, finger pointing on his face. dalli stubbornly would say although she was quite in love with jeno’s soft demure. “okay since you asked nicely,” dalli replies, gently pecking the cheek.
jeno would wow in excitement causing the children to laugh a little. areum watching the scene from the very start, she hopes to keep this memory forever and never forget it; seeing her lover interacting with a child so wholesomely, truly set the bar high.
areum saw daehyun lightly rub the bump as he spoke gibberish that children do, as if he knew a baby would understand him. she awes at the sight, gently rubbing the soft black hair back on his head. “could the baby also get a kiss, daehyun-ah?” areum would ask in high pitch tone, the boy looking up at areum.
he didn’t hesitate to give areum what she asked for. daehyun pursing lips forward on top of the long beige summer-like dress, kissing the centre of the bump. areum clapping hands as she lifted daehyun on her lap again, kissing his cheek. “thank you my love.” areum praises.
jeno dwelling on the scene with daehyun and areum not breaking away. the sun hitting the smooth clear glistering glass skin, areum starting to have this pregnancy glow. she was getting more and more beautiful, jeno couldn’t grasp how but he wasn’t complaining.

author’s note; fun fact, I’ve never actually written an epilogue before, but it felt fitting this time around, to tie up all the loose(ish) ends and satisfyingly bring it to a close – she says as if she isn’t writing drabble upon drabble (and more) lol but you get what I mean. I hope you enjoy! Thank you for reading ~

“The rabbits!” Seokjin cried out of the blue, jumping to his feet.
Immediately you found yourself slumped into the sofa, having been leaning against him, cuddled up all morning. You sat up, confused as you looked at him. “What?”
His eyes were wide with panic. “I need to feed them! Arin will kill me if she finds out.”
“Relax,” you chuckled, taking a hand in yours to tug him back to you. He stepped between your legs but kept standing. “They won’t starve to death. When did you feed them last?”
“Last night,” he thought. “Just after I came home from work. Maybe 7.”
You checked his watch, seeing it was just gone eleven. “They’ll be fine for another half hour.” You stood up, tugging his hand again, but this time to lead him to the kitchen. “Come on, let’s take the stuff for brunch to your place.”
You’d stayed in bed for a while this morning, just happily holding and kissing one another, still buzzed and definitely still basking in that post-orgasm glow. When you’d finally managed to escape the warmth of your sheets, you’d showered together. Your bathroom was a lot smaller than his – obviously – and your shower bath was even tinier, but you made it work, until you didn’t, Seokjin nearly toppling out over the side while simultaneously nearly getting rolled up in the shower curtain. Of course that had given you the giggles, but you’d composed yourself, finishing up, getting dry and then getting dressed for the day. Luckily, Seokjin had some clothes at your place, so he didn’t have to recycle the ones he’d slept in last night.
You were treating this day like a Sunday, making the most of being lazy on the sofa before you inevitably had to go and cook brunch up.
He stopped in his tracks, making you turn back. “You sure?” He asked, pulling you to him, nuzzling his nose against your jaw as his arms wrapped around waist. “I wanted to stay here this weekend.”
You couldn’t stop yourself from chuckling, linking your hands around his neck as he placed a kiss behind your ear. “It doesn’t matter where we are as long as we’re together.”
He pulled back to see you, his plump lips already curved into a smile. “You speak such truth. I’m forever awestruck by you.”
“Shut up,” you rolled your eyes, but that didn’t stop you from stealing a small kiss.
Seokjin decided he wanted more, pressing kiss upon kiss to your lips with enjoyable hums. “I love you,” he declared causally after the last that lingered a little. Then he grinned. “How many time will I say that today before it gets annoying?”
You smiled fondly at him. “You could never be annoying.” You got the last kiss. “I love you.”
.
.
A lazy day was a lazy day regardless of the house. After Seokjin made sure the rabbits were happy, fed and had fresh water, you started brunch, eating it on the kitchen island as the rain continued, falling down against the tall windows. Any other day you would have found the weather depressing, but not today. Not when you were bursting with happiness and beautifully content. Besides, that just meant you had even more of a reason to do nothing, cuddled up on Seokjin’s large corner sofa as you picked up the series the both of you had started watching a couple of weeks ago.
At around 5pm you started toying with the idea of going out for dinner somewhere, but then you hadn’t brought along the right clothes and by now it was raining heavier than it had all day. The idea of putting on makeup made you feel even lazier, so you decided on takeout in the evening and a movie instead.
As Seokjin was arranging the containers and plates around the coffee table, ready to dig in, movie ready to go, you slipped out a question. There’d been something on your mind all day, nothing major of course, but still, you didn’t quite know how to bring it up.
“What time is Arin coming home tomorrow?”
“I’m unsure,” he replied, briefly looking over at you before he opened up the black bean noodles. “I need to text Nana.”
You nodded, opening you mouth to ask a follow up question, but hesitating last minute. He looked at you again, sensing your caution and raised a concerned eyebrow. You hated seeing him worried, so you rushed ahead. “Do you want me to go home beforehand?”
“No, of course not,” he exclaimed, before he furrowed his brow. “Unless you want to of course… If you feel uncomfortable.”
“I don’t,” you were quick to reassure. You wanted to be there actually, if he was okay with it. “I was thinking her and I should clear the air.”
You could see Seokjin deep in thought for a brief second before he nodded, sitting back against the sofa to take your hand. “It won’t be like last time. I promise.”
Seokjin had already told you some of what he and Nana had spoken about Thursday evening, so you knew not to be worried about any potential conflict, but still, you didn’t want to blindside her. “We should probably check with her first though, right?”
“Okay,” he agreed. Giving you a smile, he squeezed your thigh. “I’ll call her after the movie.”
.
.
“Should I turn off the lamp?”
You nodded in reply, watching Seokjin lean over his side of the bed to flick the only form of light you had off. When he rolled onto his back, you immediately pounced, hooking a leg over his hip to settle yourself on top of him, your stomachs flush. It may have nearing 12am, but sleep was not the thing on your mind.
“Oh, hello,” he responded, happily surprised as his hands found your hips, nudging you closer.
“Hello,” you smiled, wasting no time with meeting your mouths.
You were a woman on a mission, knowing exactly what you wanted. Today had been lovely, and yes, you’d already had sex today, but when had that ever stopped you before? You were happy and in love and just couldn’t keep your hands (and lips) off of your boyfriend. On top of that, you were just in a great mood, full of positivity. Nana was fine with meeting tomorrow and that meant you could all clear the air and move forward. You’d finally get to see Arin again too, you’d missed her.
Things were perfect, if you did say so yourself, everything heading in the right direction, and right now you wanted to celebrate that. With Seokjin. In the best kind of way.
“I would have kept the light on if I knew we’d be kissing,” Seokjin murmured wetly against your lips, his tongue missing yours by a second as you started to trail your way down his chin, throat and then his chest, kissing over his pyjama shirt.
He felt you start to undo the buttons, his cock beginning to rouse expectantly which was highly amusing for you. As you exposed more and more of his chest your lips followed suit, kissing down his stomach, past his belly button to stop just above his pyjama pants, the tiny hairs that littered the skin tickling. You pulled the shirt open, working your way up again, Seokjin helpfully keeping your hair out of your eyes as he tried to hungrily watch you at work, the light of the moon shining through the gaps in the drapes casting enough light to be able to make you out.
He let out a shaky moan when you flicked the tip of your tongue against his right nipple, laughing at himself afterwards.
Back at his mouth, you didn’t stay too long before you sat up, straddling him.
“Where are you going?” He wailed, annoyed you didn’t want his kisses.
But it wasn’t that you didn’t want them, more like you wanted something else…
You moved downwards, covers collecting at the end of the bed as you slotted in between his eagerly opening legs, his hips bucking when you cupped his now fully erect (and trapped) member. You began to run your hand up and down it, a grin on your face as you looked up. “You’re so easy.”
Eyes having adjusted, you saw his grin was a little more bashful, eyes half lidded as he admired the view before him. “Only for you.”
Ever the flatterer, you had him inside the warmth of your mouth in no time. You weren’t shy by any means, especially now what with all the times you and Seokjin had been intimate, but there was something about being surrounded in near darkness that gave you a fresh surge of confidence. In the glow of the moon, you could make out Seokjin’s parted lips, his eyes piercing the ceiling, giving you a glorious view of his thick neck, Adam’s apple bobbing up and down slowly as his breathing got shallower, just enjoying the moment. He looked handsome as hell – mixed with that pyjama shirt pushed sinfully open, his toned chest and stomach on full display. For you.
Taking him deeper, you reached for him, running your hands up his stomach, feeling the firm ridges of muscle. He let out a deep moan, looking down to take your hands in his, eyes heavy with desire as he clasped them tight. You eased up a little, smiling around his cock before you started sucking the tip, caressing your tongue over him time and time again.
He lifted his hips up, eager for more and you wrestled one of your hands free from his to clasp it around the base of his dick, feeling how wet it was from your saliva as you slowly started jerking him off, placing small, wet kisses against his slit.
With the hand still on his torso, he slipped his fingers between yours, head relaxing back, eyes shut once he felt you softly begin to massage his balls, coating them in the spit that had dripped down onto them. You took him deeper again, picking up speed as you bobbed your head up and down. The sensation just about exploded his mind.
“Jesus, fuck, baby,” he gasped, free hand running through his hair and tugging at the roots. “If you keep that up I’ll cum.”
You found it cute how bad his voice trembled, pulling off to smirk. “And is that a bad thing?”
“Nope, it’s not bad,” he agreed, a little more himself now that you’d spared him for a few seconds. “I just thought we could do some other stuff too.”
“Some other stuff?” you laughed, lifting on your knees to crawl closer to him. You continued to massage his balls, feeling them tighten. “Like what?”
He took a shaky breath, rolling his hips into your touch. “Like…” He paused to groan. Now you were jerking him again, your thumb rolling small circles against his slit. “Sex.” He tried again. “I want to have sex with you.”
“You do?”
“I always want to have sex with you.”
And impatient now, his hands gripped your waist, tugging you to him. You squealed, fingers slipping from his cock to land on his chest, the movement sudden enough to make you think you were falling. He kissed you hastily, a soft growl in his throat as his palm grazed over your ass, fingertips playing with the frill detail of your shorts.
“I’d be inside you 24/7 if it was possible.”
“God, I want it to be possible so bad.” You practically lamented, his mouth on your neck now, licking strips up and down the sensitive skin.
He made another noise, cock twitching against your thigh. You felt impatient yourself now, hands finding the collars of his shirt to push it over his shoulders, needing to strip him. He lifted his back of the bed, letting you shimmy the item off before his hands grabbed at your vest, lifting it up over your head in no time. Your mouths met in a rush, his hands palming your breasts, making you moan out, nipples sensitive as he pinched them between his thumb and forefinger.
You went to move, wanting to get rid of his pants but he stopped you, fingers wrapping around your ribs.
“W-wait, wait, wait, wait,” he babbled, pulling you closer. “Let me taste them.” To explain further, he caressed a finger down your left breast, making you shudder. “Mine,” he whispered possessively and then you found yourself hovering over his face, his hands cupping the soft, sensitive flesh as he kissed and sucked them in turn.
You could feel yourself growing wetter and wetter, shorts uncomfortable as he swirled his tongue around and around your nipple, nipping it gently as he pulled away. “I love your body,” he breathed – hard. “I love you.”
“Mhmm,” you moaned deeply, watching him suck on the other boob now. Your fingers dug into the pillow, arms trembling with pleasure. “I love you, too.”
He made a noise of approval, finally letting you break free so you could get his pants down over his hips. His erection was so hard by now it almost stood poker straight, veins angrily visible even in the faint lighting. Pyjama pants below his knees, he eagerly kicked them off the rest of the way, watching as you peeled off your shorts. Both naked, he moaned as you straddled him, sliding up and down his cock teasingly, coating it in your arousal.
“Honey, please,” he pleaded. His voice shook. “Don’t tease. It’s not very nice.”
“You tease me all the time.”
He groaned weakly, unable to think of a comeback. You sat straighter, chest wet and shiny in the moonlight, his doing, and you knew he could see it too, his dark eyes watching you silently – hungrily. He looked so good, you couldn’t wait any longer. Wrapping your hand around him, you ambitiously went for it, pushing down and taking him whole. It surprised you both, groaning together as you caught your breaths.
Although, you didn’t give him much time to get used to the feeling of your warmth hugging him tight before you began to ride him hard and fast, bouncing up and down loudly before you stopped to swivel your hips. He could feel you everywhere, his eyes practically rolling back into his head as you continued your onslaught.
“Y/N…” He murmured, voice weak as he watched you begin to bounce on top of him again, his hands travelling up your thighs to land on your waist. “Y/N,” he tried again, unable to piece together a sentence. “Shit, keep going like that…mmfph, yeah, just like that…”
When you felt his fingers digging into your skin you wrapped your hands around his, pushing them away. “N-no touching,” you panted, feeling him lift his legs and fold them at the knee behind you, giving you something to lean back on.
“Seriously,” he asked, sounding annoyed, yet dreadfully turned on.
You smirked. “I want you to lay back and watch.”
He matched the curve of your lips. ‘Oh, I can do that no problem, honey.” He stubbornly kept his voice steady, thrusting inside of you once before he stilled his hips completely. “Could watch you ride me all night.”
On cue, he folded his arms behind his head, biceps bulging. The casual manner got you instantly hot, bouncing along his cock a couple more times before you leaned forward, changing the angle and in turn hopefully sending him crazy. You moved back and forth, griding all over him, your arousal soaking into his pubic hair. You were wetter than usual tonight, turning yourself on as you rode him, hearing the soft squelching where your bodies met, the pressure on your clit eliciting moan after moan.
You stared him straight in the eyes, noticing the way his jaw was clenched tight, a muscle twitching in his left cheek, but he continued to persevere, stubborn to the bone.
That was until he felt your breasts graze against him. His hips jerked up, moaning as he was unable to stop rolling into you, and you let him, let him fuck up into you, moaning softly.
He grunted. “Someone’s getting tired.”
You shook your head with a whine. You could be stubborn too. Sitting up, you attempted to bounce again but his hips were working too fast by now, his fists grabbing the pillow below his head to gain some momentum. You cried out as he thrust harder, Seokjin’s own noises of pleasure gasping out of him as if he’d been holding his breath.
“S-seokjin,” you panted, shakily holding onto his thighs.
He wasn’t relenting. If anything he fucked you harder. “Honey, just give up,” he said matter-of-factly, yet his voice was strained, veins in his neck visible.
Confidently he brought his hands to your hips, knowing you wouldn’t stop him now, too far gone. You let your eyes flutter closed, concentrating on how good his cock felt inside you. The beautifully crude sound of him pounding into you.
“Yeah?” He breathed. “Let me make you feel good now. It’s your turn…”
You nodded, moaning brokenly, and in the blink of an eye you found yourself on your back, Seokjin situated between your spread legs, finding home once again inside the warmth of your body.
You grasped his shoulders, making more noise as he rolled his hips into you, and hooked your legs around his waist, wanting him as deep as possible
“Uh-uh-uh,” he grinned, taking your hands off him. “No touching.”
You started complaining but then he pushed your hands above your head, holding your wrists tight with one hand. “Nghnn. Seokjin,” you moaned, feeling him start to fuck you with his entire weight. His back looked delectable and all you wanted to do was rake your fingernails down it but you couldn’t.
Although, being pinned down by him wasn’t such a terrible thing.
After a couple of minutes he pressed the elbow of the arm that had you imprisoned into the mattress, careful not to squash you as he brought the other hand between your legs, beginning to roll your swollen clit between his fingertips. Gasping, your legs fell back to the bed, circling your hips in time with his motions, wanting to cum now that he’d put the idea into your head.
He chuckled at your eagerness causing you to whine. “Why d-don’t you put those lips to good use?”
“Like this, baby?” He smirked, leaning his face in closer, mouth millimetres from yours, and you just about lunged, kissing him desperately.
He matched that urgency, at some point unable to keep your wrists in place and as soon as he let you go, you had your arms wrapped around him longingly. A groan tore from his throat, thrusts more determined as he continued to rub your clit, and you could feel your back begin to arch, toes curling into the sheets.
He could obviously feel you squeezing around him too, ripping himself away from your mouth with a moan of your name. “Y/N. Fuck.”
That’s all it took for you to crumble, face contorting with pleasure as you stared up at him, pulsing around him uncontrollably.
“You’re so pretty when you cum,” he cooed, removing his hand from between your legs as he pressed soft kisses to your mouth, your orgasm continuing to wash over you in waves. “Am I pretty when I cum?” He joked, but you were too far gone to snort, let alone reply.
He kept rolling into you, determined to keep your pleasure going for as long as possible, and you almost felt overwhelmed, back arching higher as you clung to him, a tear escaping out of one eye to run down the side of your face. He kissed it away, continuing to adore you, voice cracking, close himself now.
“You’re my pretty woman. So pretty.” He murmured against your lips and you kissed him hard, the last of orgasm rocking through your body. Holy shit, that was a powerful one. You felt lightheaded but couldn’t get enough.
“Fuck,” he gasped, feeling the effects as you squeezed and spasmed around him, and with one final thrust he stilled, beginning to spill inside of you.
You cupped his face quickly, hands trembling and pushed his head up, wanting to admire his face. His plump lips were parted and shiny, beads of sweat collecting along his hairline, gaze unfocused, eyelids heavy with the weight of his pleasure. He looked positively sinful.
You gave him a drunken smile, your own eyes barely open, and told him simply, “You’re pretty when you cum.”
.
.
You awoke just as Seokjin was rolling over, a muscular arm reaching for you, pulling your body into his warmth. It was still raining, even harder this morning, but you didn’t care, not when you were so cosy and in love. You were still both entirely naked, which Seokjin took full advantage of, hand cupping a breast – nothing sexual in it though, more like a comfort thing. You smiled, eyes still closed and cuddled in deeper.
“Where is he this morning?”
There was a brief silence as he tried to work out what you were asking, but soon enough he realised and laughed, sound cracked and raspy with sleep. “He’s tuckered out after last night.”
“Aw, diddums.”
A Sunday morning without a boner? Blasphemy. His morning woods were part of the package, so honestly it was quite surprising to not feel him hard between your butt cheeks.
Seokjin kissed the top of your head, making a sleepy sound, hugging you tighter to his body. “He just wants to stay in bed and cuddle this morning.”
“That sounds perfect to me.”
You honestly couldn’t think of anything better.
.
.
Once you eventually dragged yourselves out of the warmth of Seokjin’s giant bed, the rest of the morning and early afternoon went by in the blink of an eye. You had just about enough time for a quick lunch before Arin was due back at 2pm, and even though you were ready to meet Nana this time, you still couldn’t stop yourself from feeling a little nervous. It was only natural, you knew that, so you didn’t dwell on it too much, but as you heard the intercom start to ring in the entryway, signalling her arrival, your worry must have been written all over your face.
“Hey,” Seokjin said softly, calling you as you hovered by the doorway of the family room. When he saw he had your attention, he smiled warmly. “Everything’s fine.”
You gave him a reassuring smile of your own, watching him answer the call to Nana before he opened up the front door, waiting their arrival.
Arin came in full steam ahead, her little backpack on her shoulders, her carry-on hopping behind as she attempted to ram it over the step to get inside. Nana was only just getting out of the car, you could see her slightly from where you still stood in the doorway of the family room.
“Hello, Arin.” Seokjin greeted, amusement clear in his voice as he watched his daughter struggle. “Did you have a fun time?”
She was too busy huffing and puffing to reply and that’s when he finally took pity on her. He reached out his arm, “Let me take your case.”
“No!” She insisted. She was a determined little thing. “I can do–”
She never got to finish off her sentence because as she looked forward she caught sight of you smiling at her.
“Y/N!” She squealed, case (and dad) immediately forgotten as she ran towards you. You weren’t expecting the wave of emotion that hit you when she wrapped her arms around your middle, face in your stomach, but it was there, and it got you right in the gut. You hugged her back. “You’re here,” she beamed up happily.
“I am,” you grinned, swallowing back your wavering voice.
“I missed you. It’s been ages.”
You could always count on kids to be straightforward with their words. She was going to make you cry if she carried on like this. “I missed you too.”
“It’s only been a week, sweetie,” you heard Seokjin say.
Arin turned to him quickly. “It’s still a long time.” Then back at you. “I thought you’d never visit again.”
You felt your heart constrict, and unsure what to do you looked over at Seokjin, finding him equally as afflicted by his daughter’s confession. Teacher mode activated then. “No, no. I was just... busy with work, that’s all.”
You winced inwardly at your stupid excuse, not wanting to lie to her, but unable to really tell her the truth, especially at a time like this.
On cue, you heard Nana’s voice greeting you. “Hi, Y/N.”
You looked over to see her stood just behind Seokjin, a small smile on her face. She seemed a little nervous herself, which selfishly relaxed you.
“Nana,” you smiled back, “hi.”
Seokjin cleared his throat, taking a few steps towards his daughter and you. One look at him told you he was feeling the jitters too. This was brand new territory after all – for all of you.
“Arin, why don’t you take your backpack upstairs and I’ll tell you when mommy is going home so you can say goodbye?”
“Okay,” she agreed simply, pulling away from you to bound upstairs before she stopped abruptly. She turned back to Seokjin and ran forward with her arms forward. “Sorry, daddy. I forgot to hug you.”
He chuckled, bending down to kiss her head before he ruffled her hair. “That’s okay. Now, unpack your things. I’ll bring your case up later.”
She nodded, giving her mom a wave before her attention returned to you. “Will you still be here when I get back?”
“Of course,” you nodded, ignoring the fresh tug at your heartstrings.
“She really likes you,” Nana observed just as you lost sight of Arin going up the staircase.
You shook your head, chuckling as you replied modestly, “I don’t know about that.”
“She does,” she insisted, smiling afterwards. “It’s nice to see. I’m glad she’s happy with everything.”
You nodded, unsure what to respond with, but Seokjin saved the day. “Do you want something to drink?”
Nana shook her hand. “I’m okay, thanks. I won’t stay long. I don’t want to interrupt your afternoon.”
Seokjin gestured her to enter the room, then moved back to take your hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze as he brought you forward, wanting you to go next, putting the hand on the small of your back instead now. His touch calmed you.
“Sit,” he prompted Nana warmly, and she perched herself on the edge of the teal love seat.
“I like what you’ve done with the place by the way,” she said politely, looking around.
“You and me both know I just threw some new throw cushions down,” he laughed, attempting to ease the atmosphere.
Nana joined in just as you sat down on the far end of the sofa. Instead of taking the seat next to you, Seokjin perched himself on the armrest, loosely throwing his arm around the backrest, fingers grazing your shoulder.
Nana’s attention fell to you, her expression now serious. “Y/N, I want to apologise to you.” She began. “I was out of order last weekend. I was angry but that’s no excuse.”
“I appreciate it,” you replied, finding your bearings. “I understand it was a shock to find out about me.”
“It was, but I still acted embarrassingly.” She looked down at the floor, ashamed of herself. “To think that’s your first impression of me.”
She had said some terrible things, yes. Not only to you, but Seokjin too, but, Seokjin had also said plenty of cruel things back. You weren’t one to hold a grudge, especially if she was showing genuine remorse, which you believed to be the case.
“We can start anew if you like?” You offered with a small smile.
She visibly relaxed. “I’d like that.” Then she hesitated before deciding to carry on. “I meant what I said, it seems like Arin really likes you. I trust my daughter’s intuition.”
“She really does,” Seokjin agreed with a hum, rubbing your shoulder.
“She’s been talking about you over the weekend – not that I’ve been prying of course,” Nana was quick to clarify. “You’re good with her.” She looked you straight in the eyes. “Thank you for accepting my child.”
You weren’t used to having this much praise and attention thrown your way, you didn’t really know what to say, but that was alright, you didn’t think Nana was looking for an outright response. You understood how important this was for her. She needed to trust the woman that spent time with her daughter, just like Seokjin had grown to trust you. It was slightly more difficult for her considering she wouldn’t be spending a lot of time in your company, so all she really had to go off was Arin’s opinion on you. It meant a lot to know she had given you a chance. Last week you had been afraid that might not be the case.
You smiled gratefully. “She’s really special.”
“Yes, Y/N says she’s a talented storyteller,” Seokjin mentioned soon after, helping the conversation along as if he could sense that you felt awkward with all the attention cast on you. He knew you too well.
“Oh really?” Nana looked delighted, eyes on you as she waited for more information.
You nodded, complimenting Arin coming easy to you. “The stories she wrote while I was her teacher were amazing.”
“I have the copies somewhere if you want to read them yourself,” Seokjin offered.
“I’d love that,” she beamed. “Thank you, Seokjin.”
“No problem. I’ll find them this week.”
Nana’s gaze happened to fall to Seokjin’s hand still comfortably on your shoulder then, and her smile faltered. In its place appeared guilt. “Listen, I... I hope I didn’t come in between you both because of last weekend.” She turned to you. “I know mine and Jin’s relationship seems toxic and it was until a few days but I,” she paused to glance at Seokjin, “I really want to change that.”
“You know I do too,” he agreed.
“I don’t want to fight anymore, or have things tense between us. We both love Arin.” She caught your eyes. “We all love Arin, so that’s the most important thing.”
You looked down at your lap but nodded in agreement. Arin’s happiness was what mattered the most.
“It is,” Seokjin replied.
Nana smiled, satisfied, and stood up. “Okay, I should get going.” You both followed her, starting to walk towards the doorway.
“Um, I managed to get that Wednesday afternoon free,” she told Seokjin, “is it okay if I collect Arin from school and take her for something to eat?”
“Of course. I know this great pizza place she loves if you want the name.”
“She already told me about it,” Nana chuckled. “I think she was dropping hints, but directions would be great. Thanks, Jin.”
“No problem.” He stopped by the staircase, voice raising quite a lot to reach Arin in her bedroom. “Arin, your mom’s leaving. Come say bye, sweetie.”
In no time at all she was galloping down the stairs. “Will I see you Wednesday?” She asked her mom eagerly.
“You betcha! How does pizza sound?”
“Yay, thank you, mom!” She squealed, going in for a hug as Nana bent down.
“I’ll see you in a couple of days, okay, darling. I love you.”
“I love you more,” Arin murmured sweetly, kissing her mother’s cheek.
Nana kissed her back, chuckling. “Not possible, but okay.” Then she stood up, nodding to you and Seokjin with a small smile. “Bye both. I’ll see you Wednesday?”
“See you Wednesday,” Jin confirmed.
.
You spent the afternoon playing board games together, Seokjin finding a bunch of his old collection in the attic and you had fun teaching Arin how to play, although she didn’t quite grasp the full idea of monopoly yet, wanting to buy everything in sight regardless of if she had enough money or not… It was funny to say the least, even more so when Seokjin was unable to refuse her, loaning her money from the bank time and time again.
Where’s my special treatment, you’d teased quietly when Arin was distracted, secretly finding it adorable how much of a softie he was when it came to his daughter.
“You know I’d buy you anything you want,” he’d replied with a grin, unable to stop himself from stealing a quick kiss.
At around 6pm, you and Seokjin began preparing dinner for the three of you. Only you left him in charge for a little while when you followed after Arin who had gone to feed her rabbits, wanting time alone to talk with her. You hadn’t been able to stop feeling guilty about effectively lying to her earlier and after confiding in Seokjin about it while Arin was unpacking her suitcase, he’d suggested you speak to her about it. He agreed that honesty was the best policy from here on in (within reason, of course) and that she obviously understood something had been wrong last week else she wouldn’t have reacted the way she had when she’d seen you earlier this afternoon.
She was only getting older and that meant as much transparency as possible when she was personally involved in something. She was at that age where these things would stick with her. Although hopefully nothing like last week would ever happen again.
You stood by the doorway watching as she cooed and conversed with the Olive and Ariel at first, not wanting to interrupt. She was such a great little pet owner, making sure they were fed and watered enough, helping to clean their hutch, watching over them when they played outside. She adored them.
After a few moments she noticed you. “Oh, Y/N,” she smiled, “is dinner ready?”
You shook your head. “Not yet.” Stepping closer you joined her, watching the rabbits bound about. Seokjin had found the largest hutch imaginable. “Did you miss them?”
“Yes, but daddy has been feeding them well.”
You stifled a laugh, remembering Seokjin’s panic yesterday morning, but then crossed your arms, clearing your throat. “Hey, listen,” you began cautiously, feeling a little nervous. Arin looked up at you curiously. “Remember when I said I didn’t come over because I was busy with work?”
She paused to think and then nodded.
“I was lying actually, Arin.”
Her eyebrows pinched together. “How come?”
“Because… I didn’t want to worry you.”
She took some time to process what you were saying before she shrugged matter-of-factly. “I was still pretty worried last week anyway.”
You smiled sadly. “I know, and I’m sorry about that. Your dad and I…”
“Did you have an argument?” She was looking up at you curiously, finger playing with Olive and Ariel’s water bottle.
“Something like that,” you nodded. “It was more of a disagreement.”
“I thought so because daddy was sad all week.”
Her honesty stabbed at your heart.
“Were you sad too,” she asked.
“Very.”
“But you’re happy now?”
You smiled at her. “Yes, everything is all fine now. Me and your dad are happy.”
She looked happy herself at that piece of information, relaxing visibly, but then she asked a question that caught you off guard. “Do you know if daddy and my mom are happy too?”
“I think so.” You replied as vaguely as you could, not wanting to overstep the mark. But it didn’t feel right. You tried again. “I think things will be different from now on, Arin.”
“I hope so. I hate it when they argue.” She sounded sad, her gaze cast to the floor.
“I know. No one likes watching their parents fight.” you sympathised.
“What about you and my mom?” She asked suddenly, changing the subject a little. “Are you happy?”
“Yes, I think so.” You smiled at her. “I like your mom. She’s very pretty just like you.”
Arin beamed and then added, “You’re pretty too.”
You wrapped an arm around her shoulders, giving her a squeeze. “Thank you.”
“Don’t worry,” she almost whispered, “I won’t use that word again.”
You were clueless for a moment, not understanding what she meant but then it hit you. She carried on.
“Not until we all decide. Mommy said I might call you that one day if you want me to.”
For the second time today you felt emotional, throat tight as you choked up suddenly. You composed yourself expertly though, taking a breath before you smiled and replied. “That’s right. There’s no rush for when we all decide.”
Arin nodded along happily and you took her hand.
“Should we go and check on daddy now? See if dinner’s ready?”
“I think so.” She agreed, her eyes rolling slightly. “Last week he set off the alarms because he burned my chicken nuggets.”
“Oh, gosh,” you said, soon spluttering out a laugh. Arin joined in. Seokjin had failed to tell you that (hilarious) piece of information. “Well then, let’s hurry.”
Seokjin was searching the pantry for something when you arrived back at the kitchen. “Hey,” he said, shooting a warm smile your way. “How’s my two favourite ladies?”
You looked down at Arin, wanting her to reply and she beamed at her father. “Happy.”
You nodded in agreement, catching Seokjin’s eyes as you shared a private moment, silently telling him everything was fine now. He shot you a playful wink then, closing the door. “That’s funny, because I’m happy too.”
You moved closer to him, collecting the messy ties of the apron he insisted on wearing whenever he was in the kitchen to retie them properly. “We were just checking in to see if the chef was burning dinner again…”
With a surprised huff, he turned to his daughter, eyes wide. “Kim Arin did you tell tales on me?”
Arin erupted into a fit of giggles, you and Seokjin joining in immediately. “Maybe…”
“It was an accident. Happens to the best of us,” he tried to defend.
“Sure, sure.”
Arin was greatly amused by your flippant response, but soon grew sympathetic towards her dad, stroking his elbow. “It’s okay, dad, I forgive you.”
“That’s very kind of you,” he laughed.
“Should I set the table?”
“And that’s very sweet of you,” he added, eyes shooting wide. “Thank you.”
You helped her get all the cutlery she needed and watched her leave for the dining room determinedly. But your attention soon got stolen away, pulled into Seokjin’s warmth as he wrapped an arm around your shoulders. You hooked yours around his middle.
“Okay?” He murmured, checking in as he placed a kiss on your forehead.
You looked up at him, a smile on your face and gave his waist a squeeze.
“Okay.” You confirmed.
Everything was more than okay, actually.
Everything was perfect.

You were currently at your best friend’s birthday party, polishing off your third overfull glass of wine. Your best friend threw her hands above her head, shouting out “Shots on me!” She thrusted a shot glass in your hand, encouraging you to toss back the liquid. You set down your wine glass, picking up the smaller cup, not caring about the flashing cameras around you.
“I’m so glad you were able to get free from your oh so lavish lifestyle as a celebrity to come hang out with little ‘ol me!” She had to continue to shout for you to hear her over the loud music blasting through the club speakers. She grabbed your arm, pulling you towards the bathrooms. “Are you getting ready to go? The sound system is giving me a headache.” You smiled at her, grabbing your phone from your clutch.
“Absolutely, babes. Let me order the Uber and then we can go.” You held onto your phone tighter, walking up to the bar to settle your tab. “Hey, Gabe!” Gabe, one of the bartenders, turned to you.
“Hey, Y/N!” He went to grab a bottle of your favorite wine to uncork it, but stopped when you held your hand up.
“Just settling up and heading out.” You passed your black AmEx card over the counter to his waiting hand.
“You’re missin’ out, Y/N. The party is just getting started here.” You shook your head at the man.
“Nah, I’m celebrating my best friend’s birthday tonight, so this is her call.” He slid your card back to you, watching you push it into the slots of your clutch. “We’re getting outta here, but that doesn’t mean our party is ending.” You winked at him, meeting up with your companion. You linked arms with her, leading the way through the crowd. It was cold outside, which didn’t mean good things for you because of your almost too short dress. The Uber stopped beside the curb, rolling their window down for you to double check. You climbed in beside your friend, scooting closer to increase your warmth. The ride to your apartment wasn’t too long, thankfully because Uber’s creeped you out, no matter how safe you were.
Walking into your apartment was difficult to say the least. You both were stumbling the entire way to the elevator and then stumbling into your couch cushions. The two of you managed to make it to your bedroom, swapping out your tight garments for some more ill fitting attire. That was not before you took an absurd amount of photos together in your bathroom mirror. You sat across from each other on the black couch in your apartment, sifting through the pictures of the two of you. Your best friend was leaned over your shoulder, watching as you scrolled through.
“Oo! That one!” She pointed at the screen quickly, stopping your scrolling. It was of you holding the phone, leaning backward staring at the phone in your hand. Your best friend was facing you, her bare back displayed from the deep dip in the back of her dress. “We look so hot.” You both shared a look and then burst into a fit of laughter. You posted the picture to your Instagram, tagging your best friend in the corner, wishing her a happy birthday. She slid away from your, covering her lower half with a blanket.
“You want a water?” You asked as you rose from your spot on the couch. She smiled big at you.
“Can I convince you to mix up some margaritas?” Her bottom lip rolled inwards, waiting for  your response. You rolled your eyes, shaking your head before opening your liquor cabinet. You pulled down bottles of triple sec and tequila, reaching into your freezer for the bag of strawberries and limeade. You brought your Ninja Bullet out to make individual margaritas for both you and your drunk friend. Walking back over to her with containers in hand, you plopped opposite her on the couch.
“You’re literally the bestest ever.” She slurped on the drink through her swirly straw. The conversation faded between the two of you, allowing the both of you to go through your socials. “Did you see that Lizzo got a message back from Chris Evans the other day?” You laughed at her question, remembering your reaction to Lizzo’s TikTok.
“Mhm. Can you imagine getting a reply back from one of those hunks of men?” She shook her head while guzzling her margarita.
“I can’t, but I bet you can.” You scrunch your brows at her and she groaned. “You’re a celebrity too, dumbass. Girl, the amount of times that I’ve gotta remind you of that is insane.” You laughed at her, rolling your eyes.
“Babes, just because I’m quote, unquote famous, doesn’t mean that I’m on their level.” She pointed a finger at you.
“Hey, just shoot your shot, Y/N.”
“I literally don’t even know which one I would DM.” Your best friend scoffed loudly.
“Bullshit!” You choked at how loud she yelled. “You don’t know who you would DM? I know who you would DM in a fucking heartbeat.” You looked over at her with raised brows and in unison you said. “Sebastian Stan.” “Sebastian Stan.”
“Mm, he is a six foot tall Romanian God.” You shook your head while fake moaning, your friend laughing in the background. She reached for your phone before you could protest, typing away on your keyboard, smiling mischievously. She thrust the phone back into your hands, the empty DM screen of imsebastianstan on Instagram staring back at you.
“All you gotta do is send something.” She smiled at you while you glanced down at your phone screen nervously. You began typing something quickly then locked the screen, placing it facing downward on your lap, a giggly smile resting on your face. She scooted closer to you, folding her legs up to her chin. “Wait! What did you say?” You unlocked your phone, showing her the screen. She laughed at your message, drinking the rest of her margarita.
y/n.y/l/n: hi, i’m y/n and you’re the love of my life ;) <3
“That’s so fucking good, oh my God.” She glanced at the clock on your phone. “Oh girl, we’ve gotta go to sleep.” You checked it as well, dropping your head into your hands.
“Mhm, you’re right.” You stood from your spot, holding your hand out to your friend to help her up. “Let’s go to sleep.” You both crashed on your king sized mattress underneath your white fluffy duvet. You were about to drift off to sleep, when your best friend’s voice floated into your ears.
“Do you think he’s gonna reply to you?” Her voice was slurring more and more from the amount she drank and the sleep weighing on her mind. You smiled at her, it was a long shot that he would even see it, much less reply.
“We’ll have to see, babes.” She didn’t reply to you as you both fell off into a dreamless abyss.
********************
The sun streaming into your room woke you up in the morning, light hitting your eyelid just right. You blinked harshly, bringing your hand up to block the glare. A groan escaped your lips, stretching out from your best friends grip. “Fuck me.” You held your head in your hand, groaning about the headache blossoming at the nape of your neck. You left the bed, pulling a sweater over your tank top to catch some warmth. You tucked your phone into the waistband of your shorts. You padded into the kitchen, grabbing your Advil bottle, dumping two pills into your hand. You got a glass of water, settling down on the couch after gulping down the headache medicine.
You opened your phone while basically inhaling your water. Your memories of last night were fuzzy, you drank quite a bit. Did you drink too much? Maybe… but did you regret it at all? Not a second of it. You had the best time hanging out with your best friend. You check your Instagram post, replying to several different comments. A red bubble was pinned over your DM button in the corner. You tilted your head in curiosity, wondering who messaged you now. You swiped over, eyes widening at the new message.
imsebastianstan: Hi, Y/N. I’m Sebastian, thank you for professing your love to me.
The feeling of panic running through your veins didn’t last long, A gigantic smile spread accompanied by a giggle. What the fuck do you do now? Your fingers hesitated over the keyboard, thinking through what you want to say back.
y/n.y/l/n: hello sebastian, what do ya say we  figure out if it’s a match :)
You sent the message before you could chicken out, locking the phone shortly after, shoving it in your waistband. You got up, refilling your glass of water, leaning against your granite countertop, tapping your fingers impatiently. You squealed as you felt your phone vibrate in your pocket.
imsebastianstan: What do you have in mind?
y/n.y/l/n: 917-555-0545 <3
Oh my god, you can’t believe you just did that. Holy shit, what are you thinking? Maybe this will all work out in your favor. You really had nothing to lose but your dignity, right? A disturbance in the peace to the right of your caught your attention.
“Why the hell are you up so early? We drank last night, that’s an excuse to sleep in, you fuck baffoon.” Her hair was tousled on top of her head, shirt hanging off one shoulder. You turned your phone around, thrusting it towards her face.
“There’s been recent developments on the Stan front.” Her brows raised, face becoming shocked.
“Oh. My. God. Are you fucking serious?” She snatched the phone away from your hand quickly to scroll through the messages. “You gave him your number?” She yelled at you as she stretched across the couch, laying her head in your lap. Your phone buzzed in her hands and her eyes widened to unbelievable proportions. “Bitch, you just got a text from an unsaved number.”
“Shut the fuck up.” You looked at the phone in her hands. “I didn’t think he was actually going to text me, I sent it as a joke! What’s it say?”
“How are we going to figure this out?” You both shared a look, shrieking enthusiastically. “Y/N! Sebastian Stan texted you!” She jumped up and down on your couch, pulling you up with her.
“What do I say back?” You held the phone against your chest, staring expectantly at your best friend. She shook her head at you.
“Nuh-uh girl. This is all you.” She held her hands up in surrender. You looked down at your keyboard, the blinking cursor waiting for instructions.
“Okay, okay, how ‘bout, ‘discuss over coffee?’” You looked at your best friend for approval, still standing on your couch. You sent the message after she nodded. A message bubble popped up, three blinking dots inside.
There’s a coffee shop on 8th street,  just outside of Washington State Park.
wanna meet up around three?
I’ll be there, Y/N.
You turned to your best friend, holding the phone to your chest. “Babes.” She raised her brows, waiting. “I have a fucking date with Sebastian Stan!” You both squealed, excited for what would happen on your date.

Flaws
Written for @honeysucklesteve’s 4k writing challenge! If you haven’t, go check her out because she’s amazing!
Pairing: Mickey Henry x fem!Reader
Summary: You hate his music taste. He hates yours. You have a bad habit of stealing his gigs. He has a bad habit of fucking you until you can’t walk straight. Everyone has flaws. What are you to do about it?
Word Count: 3822
Warnings: Cursing, hate sex, semi-public sex, unprotected sex, hair pulling, slight edging, there’s a mirror involved, drugs, alcohol, clubbing, smoking, one mention of lung cancer, mentions of Monday’s plot, so slight spoilers; (I hope I’m not forgetting anything. These kinds of warnings are new to me. If I am, feel free to tell me.)
18+ PLEASE!!! MINORS DNI!!!
A/N: I know I haven’t posted in a while, but here you go! I’m so nervous about posting this. Honestly. I feel like I kinda rushed it a little? I dunno if it’s good. Uhm, I will say that Mickey is not soft in this. You know how he’s all cute and flirty in the movie? Yeah. Not here. I have plans to write for him later on where he’s more on character and adorable and all that, but it’s enemies to lovers and he hates reader and reader hates him. So. Yeah. Have fun with that.
This is a few firsts for me; first published smut, first Mickey Henry fic, and first enemies-to-lovers ever! I’m attached to friends-to-lovers (my parents’ fault), so going in the opposite direction is exciting and I hope it works out! (We’ll see what it can become after it’s been written.)
Also! Yes, I’m adding the link to the inspiration of the remix here. You’ll see what I’m talking about. I imagine more bass, but that’s basically it.
As always, all mistakes are mine and please excuse them as it’s not beta’d! Be kind to yourselves and others! Stay tuned and enjoy!
Part Two - Addictions
My Masterlist
Tumblr media
*****
Between the tumultuous, voice losing cheers and the pounding, headache inducing bass, it’s a miracle the occupants of the building can hear anything at all. The large room is doused in bright pinks, purples and blues, glitter getting into every pore and crack, the smell of cigarette smoke and booze lingering in the air.
Bodies pressed together uncomfortably tight, breath and sweat mixing in a way that can’t be enjoyable, but no one notices because they’re all too high and drunk. There’s a couple swallowing each other in every dark corner of the room. A group of guys looking to get some are laughing rather obnoxiously at the bar, having consumed far too much alcohol to be safe.
Bouncers are escorting people out left and right; a streaker who decided to get on a table and dance, a couple who took it a bit too far over the bar counter, a group of girls who were no doubt too young to be in such an environment. Boisterous, chaotic, borderline dangerous.
There’s no place he’d rather be on a Friday night.
Up on the center stage, playing around with his tracks, messing with the turntables, pulse connecting to the music, head bobbing with the beat. He’s in control.
Every party. Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday night. Every weekend.
He’s in control.
It’s what he liked so much about doing what he does. Once he’s booked, he’s booked. It’s his night. He controls the sounds people hear. He controls what they dance to. How they dance. The pace of the night. The feeling of the night. And no one can take it away from him.
No one, that is, except you.
He hears you before he sees you, which is nearly impossible considering how loud the music is, but you somehow manage to take control of the room the moment you walk in it. You always get what you want with a bat of your eyelashes. And if you aren’t given it, you take what you want without regard for other people.
It really really pisses him off.
You’re laughing with a group of your friends, guys and girls’ heads swiveling to stare at you, captivating every heart in the room as per usual. You always show up with the same group, but he doesn’t even know any of their names even though you run in the same circles. It’s not like you end up hanging out with them for long, and you never leave with them. No, no. You always leave with him.
And that pissed him off too.
He can’t help it. He has absolutely no control over himself when it comes to you. And he hates you for it. He hates that he lets you take over with only a few snarky comments in his defense. He hates that you always get into his head. And he hates that you’re the best fuck he’d ever had and he can never get enough of you.
But most of all…he hates your music.
“Hey, hey! There he is!” You send him that infuriating smile of yours, a drink in your hand. It’s a flaw of yours. One of many, but probably the biggest. Alcohol. Like him and his cigarettes. He watches you with narrowed eyes as you effortlessly move through the crowd, your girls and guys seeming to vanish into the mob with every step you take.
You end up in front of the stage, leaning on it and giving him a smirk as you sip on your beverage choice of the night. It’s always something different. The only common factor is the alcohol you crave, letting it wash over your tongue, burn down your throat and slip into your veins.
“Heya, Mouse!”
“Don’t call me that!” He shouts with a growl over the music, pulling his headphones down around his neck. “What the fuck are you doing here?!”
“I got called this morning! Said there was a gig tonight!”
He shakes his head, gesturing to the set up. “You’re a bit too late there, sunshine! Gig’s booked!”
You shake your head back at him. “I’m taking over from here, Mouse!”
“Says who?!”
“Argyris!”
His jaw clenches, his forehead creasing, a skeptical scoff leaving his lips. “Fuck you! No he didn’t! He said this one’s mine!”
You just give a shrug, no cares in the world, downing the rest of your drink. “You can fuck me later! For now, if you wanna whine about it, Daddy’s over there!”
Another growl leaves his chest as he scowls at you, eyes darting to where you’re pointing. Argyris is by the bar, of course, swaying on the seat. Barking out a laugh, he looks at you with a shake of his head. “He’s so drunk he probably shit himself again! You can’t take his word for it!”
“I can when he called me this morning, sober as he can get!” You shoot back, hopping up to stand besides him. “Besides! Someone’s gotta make sure these people have an actual good time!”
“Don’t touch anything until I get back!” He snaps, pointing warningly at you as he starts to walk towards Argyris.
You smile innocently, even though he knows you’re anything but. “Yes, sir!”
He marches over to his asshole friend and grabs him by the shirt, turning him around. “Mickey! Havin’ a good time?!”
Mickey glares, feeling his blood boil and his ears heat up, not from the proximity of strangers around him. “What the fuck?! You told sunshine over there that she could have my gig?!”
“I thought you’d wanna break! Dance and relax for a little bit! It’s only a two hour slot I gave her!”
“You should’ve fucking asked, Argyris! I don’t want her anywhere near my-” His sentence is cut off by a change in the music and he whips over to the stage where you’re grinning and jumping with the crowd. You catch his eye and throw him a wink, holding one of the headphone cups over your ear. “ Oh for the love of - she’s messing with my stuff!”
“I thought you liked her!”
Spluttering, Mickey gapes at the other man in disbelief. “Like her? I can’t stand her! She’s so fucking annoying!”
“What’s so annoying about her?!”
Mickey snatches the drink Argyris was about to gulp down and slams it on the counter. “She’s a spoiled fucking brat! Everyone lets her do whatever she wants! She steals half my fucking gigs! And her music is shit! Listen to this!”
Argyris looks around the room and shrugs. “Everyone else seems to like it! Sure it’s different than your disco-”
“It’s not disco!”
“But it’s a crowd pleaser! Just relax! Have a drink and go dance!”
“Argyris!” Wanting to scream in frustration, he watches the man stumble off to get another drink down the bar. “Dammit! This is fucking shit.” Grumbling to himself, Mickey storms back over to the stage, easily pulling himself up.
You bite your lip and raise an eyebrow at him. “So?! How’d your date with Argyris go?!”
“I hate you so fucking much! Use your own fucking headphones!” He snatches the pair from your neck, pulling the cord out. “Why do you always have to steal my gigs?!”
You shrug, leaning forwards to brush your lips against his ear. “Yours are so much fun.”
His tongue darts out to wet his lips, eyebrows furrowing. This always happens. Every time. The moment he feels in control, you do something and he feels every ounce of himself slipping away. It’s the reason he fucks you. To take back that control he so easily gives to you. To make sure you understand that on the weekends, he’s in charge.
But not tonight. No, no. Not tonight. He refuses to get caught up in that game tonight. You wouldn’t end up in an alley or some bathroom with him. He wouldn’t end up on your couch or in his kitchen with you. He refuses to let it happen. Again.
Instead, he lets out a chuckle and nods. “Yeah. Okay. Whatever sunshine.” He takes a step back, giving you a smirk as your eyebrows shoot up in surprise. “You have fun playing your shitty music!”
“Have fun moping!” You call back, turning to the table and ignoring him completely as he groans and jumps off the stage.
Good God. You’re infuriating.
But so is he.
You hate Mickey Henry. You just do. You hate that he has zero responsibilities and gets away with it. You hate that he can charm his way out of any situation. You hate how immature he is and how no one ever forces him to grow up. And you hate how easily you let him take charge when he’s with you. After a life full of people making choices for you, you crave control, but with him? The moment he tells you to get on your knees, you fall, no matter where you are or what you’re doing.
But most of all…you hate his music.
You take his gigs to save people from listening to it, but also so he knows he can’t talk every situation into his favor. That Argyris can’t always take care of his job for him. He never checks up on gigs once Argyris tells him he has them. So it’s really his fault for not taking some responsibility.
Watching from the stage as your music flows through you, vibrating your bones and sinking into your skin, you’re not surprised to see him get out a cigarette as he heads to a mutual acquaintance of yours. He has many flaws, but that’s a major one. Like you and your alcohol. Him and his cigarettes. You wouldn’t be surprised if you learn a couple months from now that he has lung cancer.
Mickey is talking low to the guy and you already know what’s going on. That was a flaw you both shared. Drugs. He is much more intense than you though. While you’d be fine with some pot, he almost always hits hard with cocaine. Not that you’re innocent from that type yourself - you’d done it multiple times with the man himself if you ended up at each other’s place. Never in the bedroom. You never made it that far, and you don’t really care to. But after those times bent over the table, being pounded into the couch, hanging against the wall, you’d get high with him before one of you takes off.
You’re not exactly sure what happened earlier. You were a bit shocked when he stepped away. Not that you usually left so early, but he didn’t even stay to bicker some more.
Not that you care. You’re just…curious. Maybe he’s finally growing tired of the game you’ve been playing. You’ve been playing it for a few years now. With that weird little pause last year.
You actually thought he had changed.
Having run into him at a party, you prepared yourself for the arguing that no doubt would end in sex. But it didn’t. It didn’t even start. He was with someone. Like, steady with someone. As in dating someone. Living with her. To the point where his baby mama actually agreed to let him keep his boy in their apartment as long as they were together.
It was a weird six months. You two actually had real conversations. You knew how soft and goofy he could get; you had loads of mutual friends and often went to the same parties so you’d seen that side of him. It was just…odd because it never came out with you. But it did then. And you…liked it. You didn’t see him as often, especially once his kid was cleared to live with them. He stopped going out on weekends, started just attending the small shindigs your friends hosted, worked from home instead of DJing.
But then his girl - what was her name? Claire? Caitie? You can’t remember - left for a job in the States just a few months ago and he was back to square one. His baby mama took back the custody privileges, he went back to partying every weekend, and you fell right back into your petty bickering and rough fucking.
You feel bad. Really, you do. You heard that he’d actually loved that chick. And you know he wanted to see his kid more. You knew about the room at his place. But that almost made you hate him more. That he went right back to his old self. He didn’t even try. He got a taste of being a responsible adult, and then let it go.
Because no matter how hard people try, flaws are flaws. And no one can change that much.
As the night goes on, more booze enters your system, while more cocaine enters his. There’s the occasional glare or immature finger raising between you two. Mickey even sticks his tongue out at you while dancing with some broad, a smirk lifting up the corners of his mouth as yours twist down and your eyes roll.
Your features quickly morph into smug amusement as an idea pops into your head and his eyes narrow. What are you up to? He quickly finds out as you stop the music and bring a microphone to your lips.
“Hey, hey, party people! Everyone’s night going fantastic?!” Cheers are your response. Mickey scowls, not liking where this is going, and starts heading your way. You wink at him. “I’m gonna change it up for just this one song! It’s a dedication song to a good friend of mine! It’s a bit different than the usual stuff, but it’s a bop, I promise! Here’s to the Mouse!”
He immediately freezes as the song starts. “Meeska! Mooska! Mickey Mouse!” He feels his face heat up, his fists balling up at his sides, glaring at you and your shit eating grin as you roll your body to the beat, his feet taking him to the stage.
Effortlessly lifting himself onto it once more, he grabs both your wrists in one of his larger ones to stop the music without you interfering, his rings digging into your skin. “Aww! But, Mouse! We didn’t even get to the roll call!”
“Shut. Up.” He grits out through clenched teeth, putting something else on absentmindedly. He didn’t want Argyris on his ass later for leaving the crowd without music. “God. Stop being a fucking pain in my fucking ass for one fucking minute.”
You roll your eyes, but he’s pulling you away before you can reply. Next thing you know he’s shoving you into the bathroom, growling at the girls that were smoking up the place to get out.
“You think you’re so cute, don’t you, princess?” He hisses in your ear, slamming you against the door once the girls left. He’s so tired of giving in to you, but he can’t help it, crashing his lips against yours messily. Teeth and tongue, the taste of smoke and the fruity drink you had chosen for the night mixing, only making him press closer. Your hands get pinned above your head and he’s pulling your skirt up, bunching it at your waist. It’s rough and careless and fueled by loathing, but when is it not? “Think you’re so funny? Huh?”
“Yeah.” You breath, smirking as he slots a thigh between your legs, squeezing your hips and pressing you down against him, flexing the muscle and making you squirm.
His teeth are biting at your bottom lip and tugging, his hands dragging your clothed core along his thigh. “Let’s see how funny you think you are when I’m fucking you so hard you forget how to breathe.”
Your breath hitches and your hands previously above your head clutch onto his shirt at the friction against your clit. It’s not enough and he knows, but you don’t tell him. “All this over a silly song?” You jest.
He sneers back at you, ignoring your tease. “Did you get jealous, sunshine? Is that what happened? Is that why you decided to be a little shit?”
“Jealous?” You scoff as he attacks your neck, your hands quickly undoing his belt before he shoves his pants down, his briefs following along with your panties. “Jealous of you, maybe. That girl was hot. Way outta your lea - oh shit.”
You always forget how deep he reaches inside you, how much the stretch is. He’s not soft about it, entering you in one swift thrust, your hips connecting. His hands are dimpling your bare thighs, hefting you up so your legs wrap around his waist, rings on his fingers no doubt making imprints. The door against your back starts rattling with every movement, but the music outside was too loud for anyone to hear it.
“Not so mouthy now, are we?” He snaps in time with his hips. He can feel you tightening around him, your fingers dragging down his chest, trying desperately to pull his shirt off.
“C’mon, Mouse. That's all you got?” You pant out, a little whine leaving your lips when he leaves you suddenly, dropping you to your feet. “Mickey! What-”
He cuts you off by pushing you against the counter, a shout leaving your lip when he takes you from behind, making you surge forwards, your head almost hitting the mirror, pelvis hitting your ass with every piston of his hips. His hand is tangled in your hair and he tugs, making your head snap up. “Look at you. So fucked out. I did that. I’m the best fuck you’ve ever had and we both know it.” He isn’t wrong. Your makeup’s a mess, your hair is wrapped around his fingers.
“You’re the one who keeps fucking me.” You argue back, your spine arching as he hits that perfect spot inside you. Over and over and over.
He growls, leaning forwards to fold over you, his lips by your ear. “And who keep being a fucking brat? Huh? Who keeps coming to my gigs, fucking up my weekend? Practically begging me to fuck you.”
You scowl at him in the mirror. “I don’t beg.”
The chuckle that leaves his lips makes you shiver and you whimper when he tugs your hair harder, the sting of your scalp mixing with the pleasure his cock was giving you.
“You will. You may get everything you want from everyone else, princess, but I’m in charge here. Don’t. You. Forget.” His words are punctuated with a hard thrust, making you lurch forwards, your thighs pressing harshly against the counter.
“Oh God…Mickey,” that familiar tightness in your stomach appears, your eye clenching shut as your toes curl. “I’m so close…”
“Open your goddamn eyes. Look who’s doing this to you. Who fucking owns this pussy? Huh?”
Your eyes snap open and meet his again, his breaths fanning across your face, rapidly becoming less steady. “You.”
“That’s right. You wanna cum, sunshine?” You nod vigorously. He takes your lobe between his teeth and tugs as he stills his hips, keeping himself inside you. “Then beg.”
And, just like the many times before, you do. You do because you don’t actually care about begging. You care about him ruining you. That’s what you want. And you always get what you want. Fuck your dignity.
He starts up slowly again as you plead, stopping a couple more times when you feel yourself getting close. “Mickey! Please, for the love of God!” He’s never edged you this much. Not this intensely. And not in the bathroom at a club. Usually it’s just a quickie before you take him home or vice versa.
But you pissed him off tonight. More so than usual. It was a good night and then you came along. Took his job. Played that dumb song. So he needs to remind you. Put you in your place. “You may be spoiled by everyone else, princess, but I’m the only one who can give you what you really want.”
“God, you’re so annoying.” You grind out through your clenched teeth.
He just smirks. “That wasn’t a denial. Let go, Y/N. Make a mess of my cock. Watch yourself fall apart for me.”
You do as he says, watching your jaw go slack in a silent scream, your body tensing, your legs shaking, as he finally lets you have what you want. Body going slack against the counter, he keeps rutting into you until he groans, a string of profanities leaving his lips as he spills inside you.
The both of you stay there, with him folded on top of you, his forehead resting against the nape of your neck, his grip on your hair loosening.
“That was fun. A little different.” You hum as he gets up. He’s glaring at you as you straighten and fix yourself. “Good orgasm though, so thanks for that. But I gotta get back to work now.”
“You’re such a pain in my ass.” He mutters, tucking himself away and pulling his pants up.
“Kinky. Maybe next time.” You wink at him through the mirror and his jaw ticks. He’s so fucking tired of it. Of you. How you let him have that one bit of control and then your right back to controlling the room once you get what you want. There’s so many nights where he wonders if he should just stop giving it to you. But then he’s inside you and he can’t help himself.
He watches you touch yourself up, although you still look thoroughly fucked, but you don’t seem to mind. This is new. You going back to the gig you stole after sex. He wonders if that was the last time for tonight, or if you’d be leaving together later too.
“I fucking hate you.” He spits out as you open the door, wanting to get the last word in.
You just smirk the same way he did to you earlier. “Yeah…but you love fucking me. Later, Mouse.”
Just like always, you’re the last comment as you walk out nonchalantly, even though he could see the slight wobble in your steps, the door shutting behind you, leaving him alone.
You hate Mickey Henry. You loathe him. You wish you never met him. But you can’t get enough. No matter how many times you convince yourself you have him where you want him, you know you don’t. You’d let him do anything to you. But you can’t stop. Like him and his cigarettes. He’s your flaw. And no matter how bad he is for you, you’re addicted.

Relationship: Bucky Barnes x Reader Warnings: N/A, just fluffy! Summary: While away on a mission, Bucky finally decides to learn what Skype is. A/N: i know this account started with star wars writing but i do also write marvel stuff (if you’ve ever checked out my ao3 thats super obvious lmao) so yeah i’m gonna incorporate that work onto here because why not? i write for a few fandoms here and there and enjoy it all very much! this was originally posted on an older blog but i’m working to transfer stuff here!
MASTERLIST
You adjusted your laptop screen and glances back at the little clock in the corner. It was almost 2 AM for you, but Bucky assured you it was morning by him. You didn’t really know where him and the team were (sometimes stuff was just too sensitive of information and you, the resident nurse for the team, didn’t have approval for it) but it didn’t really matter, as long as you could finally see your loving, smiling boyfriend’s face.
Days, almost weeks, passed since you last saw him and while texting and phone calls were adequate, there was just something so special about getting to face him to talk about your days.
However, convincing Bucky to actually use Skype was a challenge all in its own. He had just began to understand the "moving pictures" (Gifs. Gifs they were gifs) you liked to send him so conducting a video chat felt out of his wheel house.
But once you promised him it was safe and the rest of the team offered to help with any technical difficulties, he agreed to give it a try.
"If I don’t like it you’re just going to have to stick to sending those — oh, what are those called? Selfies?" Bucky had told you after linking your Skype accounts.
"Selfies, yeah," You chuckled. "You’re such an old man."
Your stomach fluttered at the memory remembering how certain he was to show you he was anything but an old man after saying that.
The familiar dinging of the Skype ringtone brought you out of your scandalous daydream. Your heart jumped — he had actually figured it out (or, at least someone with him had).
Excitedly, you clicked ‘accept’ and within seconds you were greeted by a very scruffy, tired looking Bucky. His hair was an absolute mess and bags were starting to form under his eyes, but nevertheless he had the biggest smile when he saw you.
"Hey, doll," He greeted you with a little wave, as if not really believing you could see him.
"Bucky!" You exclaimed, unable to hold back the wide smile creeping on your lips. Bucky blushed ever so slightly at your excitement. "How are you? How’s everything going?"
"We got some intel today, but stuff’s moving slowly," he explained in the most boring way possible. You learned to get used to this when talking about any mission. He liked to say so little yet so much at once. "You can really see me on this? This is odd."
You chuckled, "I don’t know why you’re so amazed, you guys use video chat all the time."
"Well, yeah," Bucky shrugged. "On super fancy military-grade devices. Didn’t know a civilian laptop had all this power."
You couldn’t help but let a laugh out at that one. The terms and silliness of his statement  was just too adorable for you to take him seriously. Watching a hundred something year old in a young adults body maneuver life was something else.
"Were you able to get it working okay?" You asked. Bucky immediately started shaking his head before you finished the question, which made you shake your head, smiling.
"No way," He said. "Steve helped. Somehow that punk knows way more about computers than me."
"We’re gonna have to pay him for lessons," you joked, trying to suppress your laughing but failing miserably. Bucky just playfully rolled his eyes as your antics.
"If you’re done bullying me about my lack of technological skills, I would like to hear how your day way,"
You readjusted on the bed, getting comfy under the duvet you two usually shared. You were occupying his side of the bed currently, something you did without realization when he was gone.
"It’s not much work when you guys are gone," you said, trying not to show any longing in your voice. Maybe phone calls were better — when facing you, Bucky could always pick up on any little thing wrong with your demeanor. "I caught up on some paperwork and continued my research. Never realized the number of species this universe could have."
As the resident nurse, you took it upon yourself to learn about any and all species that may roam out there just because you never quite knew what the team could come back with. One day you could be patching up a secret agent and the next it could be a god. You liked your brain to be ready for anything.
Bucky scoffed, "You’re telling me! Feel like it’s something new everyday."
You gave him your warmest, understanding smile. "You know, it is just really good to see you."
"It’s great to see you too, doll," he said, softer than normal. "You know I’ll be home soon, right? Gonna be waiting to patch me up?"
You sighed, knowing the super soldier was reading you once again. Sometimes you hated how he could recognize everything that was wrong and this was one of those times. You didn’t want this to be sappy — in fact, you though this could be less depressing than texting — but really seeing him there and not in bed with you made your heart sigh.
"Of course," you nodded. "Always going to be there for you."
As Bucky was about to make another comment, a yawn you had been trying to suppress made itself known.
"Someone getting sleepy?" Bucky chuckled as you scooted down in the bed, engulfing yourself in more duvet and pillows.
"Me?" You asked, yawning again. "I’ll be up for hours."
Your boyfriend shook his head, a sly smirk resting on his lips. He shook his head, "You should get to bed, honey."
"No," you protested. "We just got on!"
"I can call you later, honey," he assured you. "We have some work to get to anyways."
You groaned, not wanting to go back to the reality that you’re alone in a normally shared bed, gripping his pillow and side of the duvet as if your life depended on it. It was almost pathetic, but you couldn’t help yourself. You missed him dearly and every mission there was a chance he may not… No, you stopped your brain, you weren’t thinking about it. You would go to bed thinking about what you two would talk about in the morning.
"Okay, babe," you sighed. "I love you. I can’t wait for you to be back in this bed."
He chuckled and nodded, "Trust me, there’s nothing more than I want to be holding you tight. I love you too, doll."

Inorganic Human

Another fic I wrote for my besto frendo @anti-interesting who finally watched the show after me talking about it for hours lol
Tumblr media
You were tucked under your sheets with your laptop on your bed and catching up with your favorite show when the screen abruptly turned black.
“Ahh,” you groaned audibly, having to move from your cozy position took too much effort and it was way too annoying if you had to be honest.
As you were about to press the power button to see if you had accidentally turned your laptop off like the many other times you had in the past, the screen flashed white before returning to normal.
“Can you hear me?”
You stared blankly at the screen. It wasn’t your show that was playing. It was your classmate from school. Had you opened your social media account by accident?
With a small scoff, you tried clicking away from the video. However, your laptop must have frozen because you couldn’t turn it off no matter what.
“Can you hear me?” he asked again, looking right at you.
Chills went down your spine and you looked around you as if someone else was in the room. The feeling of discomfort was settling in, enough to make you feel self-conscious and pull up the sheets to cover yourself.
It was getting creepy, he was still staring at you.
Reaching your hand forward, you pressed the power button to turn off the laptop and somehow it didn’t turn off.
“(name), I asked if you could hear me.”
Your muscles tensed, you pulled the sheets further up to cover your chest. “Shishigami? Um, i-is this a video call?”
He hummed softly. “I guess so.”
How could it be a call when you had never given him your email or phone number?
It was silent for a moment. You were trying to come up with a polite way to tell him to leave the call since you couldn’t end it yourself but he spoke again.
“You’re coming to school tomorrow, right?”
Dumbfounded, you nodded slowly.
After that, he smiled softly and the screen flickered a couple of times until your show continued playing again.
~~~~
As if last night hadn’t happened, Hiro was on the other side of the classroom talking to his friend, Ando.
He hadn’t even spared you a passing glance the whole day. You started to believe you dreamed of the entire thing.
Yeah, that had to be it.
~~~
At home, you put a tape over your laptop camera in case a glitch like that happened again and turned it on. Letting your show play in the background, you took off your clothes to get in your pajamas.
“Could you please not touch him so casually, you homewreckers?!” The annoying main character was exaggerating his reactions and it made you giggle. While you were taking off your bra, he continued his banter. “Megumi has violin classes with-”
The audio stopped suddenly and you turned around to check if your internet was messing up again but you found yourself looking at Hiro.
You covered your bare chest with a shirt you were just about to put on and gasped sharply. Wait, he couldn’t see you, you had put that tape on your camera and-
“Sorry for the bad timing. I’ll return after you’ve dressed up.”
With that, he was gone. Your show was back on the screen but you were too terrified and confused to be able to laugh at the funny reveal at the end.
You walked up to your laptop with shaking limbs and slammed your laptop closed.
~~~
The next time you opened your laptop was in the morning, you checked from the camera app if you could see anything through the tape but no, it was pitch black.
Then… how?
Were you imagining all of this?
You had to be only tired or maybe the university entrance exams were starting to get to you. The stress could have been causing you to imagine stupid stuff like these. Right?
~~~
“Hey,” you said to get his attention for the third time but he still had his face pressed against his desk.
He wasn’t asleep, you knew that.
“Ando.” You put your hand on his shoulder and he finally lifted his head from the desk to stare at you.
He looked around himself as if to see if you were actually talking to him.
“Could we talk for a second?” you asked, hoping that you could take him somewhere else before Hiro returned to the classroom.
“Um, yeah, sure, why not?” He blushed, looking around the classroom one last time to see if this was a prank before following you out.
You took him up to the roof.
“W-what did you wanna talk about?” Ando nervously asked while rubbing the back of his neck.
Maybe this was a bad idea. You were being accusatory and this guy had nothing to do with any of this. He didn’t need to be caught up in between with whatever was going on.
“Do you know if Shishigami is messing with me?”
“Huh?” He looked confused, he scratched his cheek and gave himself a moment to think. “I… I don’t think so… Hiro’s not the type to prank others... I mean, what made you think that he was messing with you?”
“It’s just…” It had to be your imagination, if you spoke about this right now Ando would most likely ask his friend about it too. There was no need to make it a bigger deal than it already was. “Nevermind.”
~~~
You didn’t turn on your computer that night and decided to sleep early. You weren’t going to school tomorrow either because you certainly needed to rest and collect your thoughts. Thankfully your family was away on an overnight trip, meaning that nobody could scold you for skipping school.
It was going to be a restful day for you!
However, as soon as you put your head on the pillow, your phone’s screen on the nightstand lit up. Weird, you had your phone on ‘do not disturb’ all the time, it didn’t show any notifications unless you picked it up.
Too tired to check what was up, you turned to the other side to avoid the bright light.
“(name), you never sleep at this hour. Something wrong?”
Your eyes snapped open.
That was Shishigami.
“Pick up the phone.”
You didn’t answer him as your limbs shook uncontrollably in terror. This couldn’t be a nightmare, it felt too real.
“Pick up the phone or I’ll have to come to your house.”
Cold sweat trickled down your back but you still couldn’t move. Your entire body had turned to stone. He didn’t know where you live, right? Even if he did, you weren’t going to open the door.
Wait, wait, wait…
This all was a prank.
The muscles on your limbs eased and your shoulders relaxed. He was pranking you! Haha, yeah this was a prank. But then how was he able to talk to you without you having to answer his call?
“See you,” he sighed and a static sound filled your ears.
You jolted up from your bed to check your phone. The screen was normal. Okay, calm down. This was a prank, he wouldn’t come to your house.
The sound of knocking filled your room. Your shoulders tensed again and you turned your head towards the bedroom door. That… knocking wasn’t coming from your apartment door.
Knock.
Your blood ran cold as you glanced over your shoulder and found yourself staring at a shadow behind the curtains, he was standing on your balcony. He was trying to look inside through the curtains, moving around to find a crack that could help him see who was inside.
H-how did he get there? You lived high up from the ground, there was no way he climbed up there… More importantly, how did he know where you lived?
He couldn’t come in. He can’t come in. The door is locked, he can’t come in.
The door was locked. You knew that yet the fear had settled in. You were being invaded, it already felt like he was inside.
You turned around your heels to face the balcony as you stepped back towards your bedroom door. The balcony door was locked so there was no way he could get in and all you needed to do was stay back-
The balcony door unlocked itself.
Your mouth popped open in shock and you gasped sharply.
Hiro pulled the curtains away as he stepped a foot inside your room. He stared at you with a blank stare, “Ah, so you were awake! Why didn’t you answer your phone?”
You couldn’t move, fear had paralyzed you.
Why are you here?
How did you get inside?
Get out!
Your mouth wouldn’t move either but your teeth still chattered. This didn’t feel like a prank anymore.
“Why don’t you sit down,” he said, turning on the lamp on your nightstand and gesturing towards your bed. His other hand was pointing at you with his forefinger and his thumb was extended out. “Don’t yell, scream or cry. This is a real gun.”
Prank.
It was a prank.
You desperately wanted to believe it.
“Bang!” he yelled, his hand recoiled like a gun. Immediately, you felt a rush of wind right beside your ear and when you looked behind you, there was a hole in your bedroom door.
Did he really do that with his… finger?
You were confused, in disbelief.
“W-what do you w-want?” Your teeth were still chattering, you put your tongue in between them to stop it but the action only resulted in you biting your tongue.
“I just need your help.” He gestured towards your bed once again. “Sit down.”
This time, you forced yourself to move.
As soon as you sat on your bed, Hiro pulled the chair you had beside your desk and placed it in front of you. He gracefully sat down, still pointing his finger gun at you. “I’m not a human anymore.”
You didn’t say anything.
He sighed and a click sound filled your ears.
His head popped open like a flower. All you could see was metal, it was a machine. A robot. This thing wasn’t your classmate. You clapped a hand over your mouth to keep your voice down and finally started to realize the horror of the situation.
The open metal pieces closed up seamlessly to form Hiro’s face once again.
It was silent, you were unsure of how to react or what to say. You weren’t even sure if you were going to live.
“What makes humans human?” Hiro asked, pointing his finger up to your head. He was expecting an answer.
“I don’t know.”
“Feelings of guilt,” he said, his face was inanimate. “Only humans feel remorse and empathy. When you kill something you must feel some sort of guilt. That’s what makes you a human. Most humans cannot take a life without feeling guilty.”
Ah, you started to get the picture.
“Are you going to kill me?” The question you never thought you would ask anyone at any point in your life left your lips and you felt tears streaming down your face.
His lips slowly curled up to a smile. “I already tried killing others, it didn’t work.”
Your chest clenched abruptly at the revelation. “T-then why?”
“There’s one another feeling only humans can feel.” He reached towards your face and wiped your tears, humming softly. “It’s lust. Animals choose partners by instinct, humans choose theirs by attraction.”
“I don’t understand,” you sobbed. “Why me?”
Hiro slowly carded his fingers through your hair, petting you like you were a scared animal he was trying to calm down. “I always thought you were pretty. I used to jerk off to your pictures on your account every day.  I wanna see if I still feel the same way in this body.”
You didn’t get to react to his sickening words as he pressed his forefinger on your breast, still in a finger gun position. He smiled while moving his finger on the supple flesh. He then placed the rest of his fingers on your breast to grope it fully. “I kinda feel it.”
Speechless, you only stared at him as he sat back, prying his hands off of you reluctantly.
“I need you to take off your shirt for me.”
When you didn’t move, he lifted his hand back up, threatening to shoot you.
Grabbing the hem of your shirt with shaking hands, you pulled it over your chest and above your head before putting it on your lap. You clutched on the shirt and stared at your hands. Tears blurred your vision.
“I’m feeling it a little bit right now,” he said, voice filled with faint joy.
A moment passed before he spoke again.
“Take off everything.”
You let out a choked sob and shook your head.
“You don’t need to die, (name). All I’m asking for is your help.” He was looking at you with a sinister expression on his face, his finger pointed right between your brows, it didn’t even waver.
You didn’t want to die. Not yet. Not when you were half-naked like this and in your room.
With a rapid nod, you hooked your thumbs under the waistband of your pajama pants and pulled them down, lifting your hips from the bed to slide the pants down your thighs.
He watched you intently, without blinking once.
“Spread your legs.”
Complying his order, you spread your legs involuntarily. A blush tinted your cheeks from embarrassment.
Hiro hummed in delight, drinking up your naked form.
“Can you put a finger inside?”
You had to remind yourself that you were only doing this because you didn’t want to die.
Hesitantly, you brought your hand up to insert two fingers inside of your pussy. A whimper left your lips when you saw the way he was watching you.
“Move them.”
The shame you felt as you pulled your fingers out to push them back in was indescribable. His eyes were focused on your pussy and your digits.
“It’s happening,” he whispered to himself in disbelief.  “I feel alive.”
Whether it be your crush watching you masturbate so carefully or the unsettling threat of being in the claws of death, your walls were pulsating around your fingers, begging to be filled and stretched. You needed something bigger but you bit your lip, holding back your filthy thoughts before your mind could wander off. Instead, you dipped one more finger inside your cunt to satisfy yourself.
Yet, your eyes were on Hiro as you were fingering yourself.
“I’m still human,” he said, eyes softening in relief. He smiled, the soft expression on his face made your walls clench around your digits. “Thank you, (name).”
Lust filled all of your senses at the way he said it.
The pads of your fingers rubbed on your sensitive spot inside of you as you brought your other hand up too. Using your free hand, you drew tight circles over your sensitive nub.
Hiro put his hand down and leaned forward on the chair to watch you closely.
Your fingers started moving in and out hastily when you realized he was giving you all of his attention. The sloppy sounds of your juices gushing out from your pussy with each thrust of your digits filled your room.
He opened his mouth to say something but he was too hypnotized by the way your hips were moving towards your fingers. You were grinding your pussy against your own fingers like some animal in heat.
Humans could reproduce.
Hiro knew he could never reproduce in this body. Not anymore. Many humans couldn’t reproduce, it didn’t mean he wasn’t any less human. He knew that but he couldn’t stop his hand from reaching to grab your wrist.
He stopped you from moving your fingers any longer, he pulled them out, and before you could whine at the emptiness, he inserted his own digits inside.
“H-Hiro.” Gasping, you looked at him with needy eyes, begging him to move.
Hiro pressed his lips together and scissored his fingers in and out of you experimentally. You moaned, throwing your head back shamelessly. The reaction he got from you was enough to encourage him to add another digit and started to fingerfuck you.
Your hips bucked wildly against his hand, you were already close, and having Hiro’s long fingers inside you was too much. They could reach so much deeper than your own fingers and hit the sweetest spots you could only wish you could with your own digits.
So, this was what made humans human. The attraction and lust towards one another. The feeling of guilt had never sprouted in Hiro, not even once. Not even when he was a child. Perhaps, that was the reason why he felt so much more alive than he ever did in his life.
His mind was going crazy, the consciousness he had was getting fuzzy as he used the entire strength of his arm to fingerfuck you.
Your walls pulsated around his digits, clamping on them and sucking him in deeper.
Oh, so needy.
Hiro leaned further down to close the distance between his face and crotch. Your legs shook in anticipation until he lolled out his tongue to take an inexperienced lick against your cunt.
It made you moan audibly.
Wanting to hear your cute moans again, Hiro continued lapping at your pussy and moving his fingers inside of you. Your juices he managed to slurp were… sweet. He could taste them, unlike any other things he had tried eating and drinking, he could actually taste your nectar. You tasted like candy to him and oh, you had no idea how much he had missed the delicious aroma of candy.
While he was slurping your juices, you were clutching on your bedsheets and your toes were curling in pleasure. You arched your back before placing your hands on his head, fingers carding through his silky hair.
Soon enough you were on the edge, the white pleasure building in your gut was spreading all over your body. Legs shaking violently, you pulled Hiro’s hair and moaned as the euphoria washed over you before your body went completely limp on your bed.
Hiro stood above you as you were trying to catch your breath on the mattress, he marveled at the sight of your afterglow.
He was breathing hard, inhaling as if he actually needed the air to survive. Was this excitement? Satisfaction? Salvation?
He was feeling overwhelmed with feelings of passion. He desperately wanted to see you like that again.
Oh.
That was it.
At that moment, he felt more alive than he ever did before. He knew he was alive.
Title: who we are in the aftermath
Fandom: The Owl House
Synopsis: Belos falls and the Golden Guard survives. It’s a new world and a new day, and sooner or later Hunter has to figure out where he fits in it.
Or: in which Hunter stays at the Owl House, becomes a (very, very reluctant) apprentice, continues to have accidental sibling shenanigans with the annoying human, and finally finds a place where he belongs. Probably.
AO3 link is here.
[Next chapter is here!]
.
chapter one: battling birds
They give him a room near the east side of the house, stuffed full of broken things and a miscellaneous number of random items. It’s not the human’s old room, and not Lilith’s, either—there’s too much dust and too much stuff for either option. Hunter can’t tell if he’s grateful for this or not. He’s still deciding on whether he’s grateful for the room at all.
There’s no time to set up a bed. He spends his first night here on a blanket, restless and half-awake and lying so still he’s half-convinced he’s shaking from the strain of not moving at all, not making a single sound. He can practically taste the dust on every inhale—does the Owl Lady ever clean, Titan help him—and by some godawful midnight hour Hunter gives up on sleep entirely and sits up, carefully, to whisper to his palisman.
Nothing important. None of the real questions that are swirling around in his head, like what am I even doing here and why am I still here and what am I supposed to do now, do you know? Instead he just says nonsense things, useless things, like “If I shine a flashlight in that little demon’s face do you think I could get him to chase the dot?”
The palisman coos and chirps and sings nonsense back. Red is a pretty color. I like tulips. If we iced over the Boiling Sea could we make human rain?
“None of those answers make sense,” Hunter tells it, and then writes a small note about the sea and rain connection on the dusty floor, if only because that’s actually kind of interesting and he wants to check it out again later.
Red tulips are tasty, replies the palisman, and nuzzles his fingers when he goes to pet it. Its feathers are soft and its eyes are luminous in the moonlight. Nonsense, all of it, but the nonsense helps—familiar as a friend, safe and easy. Better than thinking of Belos. Better than wondering what he’s doing here, sleeping on the floor in the Owl Lady’s house.
The human has left. He could walk out right now and she’d never know, not that her disappointment has any bearing on if he chooses to stay or go. She’s vanished back to the human world, probably gone forever. This house means nothing to Hunter—the Owl Lady is annoying and dislikes him about as much as Hunter dislikes her, and as endearing as the weird little demon is, that isn’t enough to make Hunter want to stay.
He could leave easily. He could go anywhere. He has nowhere to go.
“I don’t know what to do,” Hunter tells the palisman, at last, hours later. It is almost morning. The sunrise has only just begun, the peace of this dusty attic room wavering thin and fragile in the light of early dawn. It is a quiet admission. He says it very soft. “I don’t know if I know anything.”
I love you, says the palisman.
“That’s not an answer either.”
Oh, well.
Twenty minutes later, the Owl Lady’s weird bird-worm security creature bursts through the window and sings good morning loud enough to shatter eardrums. Hunter grabs his staff, throws a blast at the thing on instinct, teleports to the kitchen in a panic, and smacks the Owl Lady in the face with his palisman first thing in the morning.
.
The easy explanation is this: the castle falls and Belos dies and the Golden Guard somehow survives it all: portal collapse and half-realm merge and everything, which means when the dust settles, ultimately Hunter is left with absolutely no idea of what to do with himself.
“You should work with Eda!” says the human, in the aftermath. Given she says this in the ruin of what was once the Emperor’s castle, barely a half hour after—everything—Hunter feels pretty justified in his response. Which is to say he strangles his broken mechanical staff in his hands, takes a deep breath, and says in a very tight voice: “No.”
“But—!”
“No. No, no, no. I can’t even believe I did this, I don’t… it’s not happening. No.”
The human—he does actually know her name by now, after all they’ve been through, but also given all of This Nonsense she has lost name privileges—does not take that well. Of course she doesn’t. She’s so fourteen it makes Hunter want to die inside.
“Why not?” the human says, petulant. She has her hands on her hips and everything.
Hunter is kneeling in the rubble of a castle he’s called home for almost all his life. Somewhere down there is the throne where Belos used to sit; somewhere down there is a body. It’s not a surprise, really. It’s not a shock. From the moment the palisman fluttered into his life and Hunter let it stay, he always knew, deep down, that one day he was going to have to choose.
It does not make breathing any easier. “I don’t want to,” he says.
“You can learn wild magic! And, and glyphs! Eda knows a lot—”
“Does the Owl Lady know you’re offering up her house to an old enemy?”
“Eda won’t mind. Well, okay, maybe she’ll mind a little, but— she’ll let you stay if I ask her!” Yeah. The Owl Lady probably would. The human has that witch wrapped around her little finger; Hunter almost snorts. “Please, just hear me out. I’m sure we can—”
“No.”
“Hunter…”
“Don’t talk like we’re friends,” Hunter hisses. He drops the broken remains of the mechanical staff and stands, his hands curled to fists. “Don’t talk like you know me. You don’t know anything. You don’t—” He can’t breathe. He drops back to his knees in the rubble and rubs a hand over his eyes. “Just stop. Please.”
The human doesn’t say anything for a long time. On his shoulder, the palisman, thus far staying silent, flutters its wings and hops down to his knee, nudging his hand with its beak. It sings nothing. Just stays there.
After a moment, the human kneels next to him. There is blood on her face and dirt staining her leggings. “I know,” she says, and she suddenly sounds very tired. “I’m sorry.”
Hunter doesn’t say anything.
“I just—” the human starts, and then she stops. “I don’t know how else to help you.”
She looks small and weirdly sad, which makes no sense at all, because she hated Belos and never really understood why Hunter did not. (Hunter is not sure why either. If that is still something he can say. If you can betray your uncle and fight against your uncle and—and— and do these things, do everything Hunter has done, and still say that this feeling isn’t hatred.)
They aren’t friends, Hunter and the human. They have barely been allies. He doesn’t need her help, and she probably knows that as well as he does. But Hunter looks at her then, and despite the rubble and the ash and the blood on his tongue, for some reason instead of digging himself a makeshift grave he says—
“…Okay.”
Which still doesn’t really explain anything, but then, that’s just how it goes.
.
“Okay!” says the Owl Lady, smacking down her second cup of apple blood on the table. She does it too hard—a good splash of blood escapes the confines of the cup and adds yet another stain to her already-stained dining table. Hunter raises an eyebrow. The Owl Lady glares back. “House rules.”
There’s a red mark on her cheek, still, from where Hunter had hit her with his staff, and a stain all down her side from when, upon being hit with the staff, the Owl Lady spluttered and cursed and accidentally spilt the first cup of apple blood all over herself and the floor. She looks… barely awake.
“House rules,” Hunter echoes, dryly.
“Your scorn is noted and not appreciated.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry.” His palisman pecks his hand lightly. “Ow.”
“Luz, you owe me one,” mutters the Owl Lady, and takes a really deep drink of her apple blood. Hunter rubs at his hand, peeved, and eyes the palisman in case it gets any more hand-pecking ideas. The palisman blinks innocently back. Hmm.
“So. First of all.” The Owl Lady raises a finger. “Break any of my stuff and I end you.”
So just like the castle, then. Hunter sees where this is going. He settles gingerly back against the chair—why, why is all of her furniture stained—and rests his cheek against one fist, already bored. “Noted.”
The Owl Lady puts up a second finger. There’s a long silence.
“…Seriously?” says Hunter.
“Quiet, you.” She snaps her fingers. “Hah! Got one! Hurt King or Luz or Hooty or anyone I like in any way and I’ll destroy you. Yeah, that works.”
Hunter gets the sneaking suspicion these house rules are being made up on the spot, and are also only for him. He knows better than to say that aloud. “Fine.” Wait. “How am I supposed to know which random people you like or dislike?”
The Owl Lady grins. Her gold fang glints. “That sounds like a you problem, don’t you think?” She cackles a little. “Guess you’ll just have to find out! Or, you know. Maybe don’t attack anyone? That’s a start.”
Her owl palisman coos a little. Her nose wrinkles. “What? What do you mean that’s hypocritical? Stay out of this, Owlbert, I’m teaching life lessons or something.” Her eyes turn to him. “Anyway. You get the gist.”
Hunter’s hand is curled white-knuckled around his knee. His palisman flutters from the table to his shoulder, singing nonsense again. Red tulips, so tasty. Its feathers brush against his cheek.
He pries his grip off his knee one finger at a time. “…Understood.”
“Good.” The Owl Lady stands and stretches, yawning wide into one hand. “Anyway, I’ll give you a pass for this morning, because Hooty can be…” She trails off. Outside, muffled by the front door, the bird-worm creature shouts “HOOT” at full volume and then smacks into a tree.
“…a lot,” decides the Owl Lady. “But seriously, keep the windows locked. I don’t want you trying to blast him and burning my house down. I just got it back.”
Hunter says nothing. The Owl Lady squints at him and then picks her mug back up. “Riiiight… well, good talk, I guess. Get some more sleep, kid, you look worse than Luz after an all-nighter.” She waits. Hunter raises an eyebrow at her. “Ugh. I don’t know why I agreed to this.”
At least Hunter isn’t the only one second-guessing everything. Still, that reminds him. “The human.”
“Luz,” says the Owl Lady, unimpressed.
“Yeah, whatever.” He links his fingers. The palisman flies down from his shoulder to his cupped hands, and hops a determined circle in his palm for no apparent reason. Hunter watches it play. “…Is she coming back?”
“What, tired of our company already?”
“Yes,” Hunter says, because obviously.
“Rude. Well, can’t say the feeling isn’t mutual.” There’s a long silence. The Owl Lady sighs. “Luz… she promised she’d come back. You were there, weren’t you?”
Yeah, he had been. Standing in the back of the group, on the fringes of the goodbye. Two hours after the end, and the human had already roped the Owl Lady into letting Hunter live in her stupid owl house, and also somehow run around hugging pretty much everyone. And then she’d stepped through the mirrors that were all that remained of the realm-merge between her world and theirs, and not come back since.
She had, indeed, promised to return. But that was hours ago; that was yesterday. The mirrors are gone and no doors remain. And Hunter does not put much faith in promises.
“And when,” he asks the Owl Lady, a little lofty, a little snide. “When, exactly, do you think she’s coming back?”
The Owl Lady’s eyes narrow. Her lips press thin. For a moment he thinks she might snap at him, but then her shoulders slump, and in the end she just looks away.
“I don’t know,” the Owl Lady admits.
Useless, Hunter thinks. But he doesn’t say it. Just nods and turns away to head back upstairs and make that stupid dusty storage room somewhat presentable, because if he’s going to be staying here for—for—for whatever amount of time he ends up staying here, he’s going to breathe actual air instead of dust, thanks.
“Remember, kid! House rules!”
“Yeah, yeah,” Hunter says, and teleports back up the stairs without a single glance back.
.
Hunter manages to shove all the junk into one corner and make the start of a fairly presentable bed in the other corner by the time the human re-arrives in the Boiling Isles and throws open his door hard enough to smack it against the wall.
“You took my advice!” shouts the human, at the top of her lungs.
“Hiiiiii,” says Hunter, hands over his ears. The human takes a deep breath. Hunter closes the door in her face. “Byeeee.”
“Hey!”
“Why are you yelling.”
“I can’t believe you’re here!”
It’s just nonsensical enough to get him to open the door. Why does this always happen to him? Why is the human like this? “You said I should come here! You said—”
“Psh,” says the human and flaps a hand in his face. Hunter stops mid-word, gritting his teeth, practically feeling his whole face turn bright red with rage. “I didn’t mean it in a bad way! I just— I didn’t think you would actually listen! But you’re here!” She’s beaming. Hunter looks away. Her smile fades. “…Are you okay?”
He can’t sleep. His eyes are hot and burning like he wants to cry and he has no idea why. His uncle is dead.
“No,” he tells her. “No one in this house dusts. I’ve forgotten what air tastes like.”
Psh-haw! I’m sure it's not that…” The human steps inside, inhales, and chokes. “Oh. Ay Dios mío. Wow, this room has not been dusted.”
“I noticed!”
“Oh, man.” She hides her nose in her elbow and sidles outside again. She’s wearing her weird human clothes and her palisman staff strapped to her back. She looks tired, and a little like she has no idea what she’s doing here either. She lingers in the door almost awkwardly, rolling back and forth from her heels to her toes.
Hunter watches her for a long moment. “You came back.”
“Haha. What gave it away?” But the smile she gives is small and blinding, brighter than the sun. “Watch this.”
“Watch wha—” The human lifts her hand and trails it through the air, dragging her fingers down in a straight line. Golden light follows her fingers. It breaks the air like a fractured mirror, a rift sparking to life in the hallway, the dark greens and blues of a galaxy intertwined with a burning glow. Hunter’s voice dies in his throat.
“If I push at it, it opens. Like a door. It leads me right home.” She’s smiling so wide it must hurt. The portal almost seems to whisper; the golden glow of the rift shines in her eyes and catches on her face, still tear-streaked. The human’s cried over this. She’s right to. The human world and the Boiling Isles—she has found a way to keep both.
Presumably he thinks he should be jealous. Instead he finds himself smiling too. “I’m glad,” Hunter tells her. “That’s… pretty cool.”
“Right!?” She bounces on her heels and waves a hand through the rift, dismissing it into nothing. “I can’t wait to show Amity. And Eda. And King. And you! The human world is—it’s amazing. The rain doesn’t kill you even a little bit!”
It takes sudden effort to keep up the smile. “…I’ve heard.”
“Anyway, I just came by to say hi. Eda said you were here, and—” She stops, visibly hesitating. Her head lowers. “I know… I know this must be hard. And that we aren’t really friends. But… if you need anyone to talk to… I’m here.” She peeks up her head a little, grinning. “After all, we’re house buddies now!”
“Human,” Hunter says. Her nose wrinkles. He sighs. “Luz.”
“Yeah?”
There’s so much he could say that for a moment he has no idea where to start. Why did you think this was a good idea. Please stop talking. Why are you so insistent that we could be friends. I didn’t say I was staying here for long. I’m very tired. You’re bizarrely forgiving. My uncle is dead because of you.
“…Thanks,” he says. “And— I’m sorry.”
Luz blinks at him. Then she grins. “Noooo problem, ol’ buddy ol’ pal!”
Hunter shoves her stupid smiling face away and closes the door on her toes. Luz yelps and swears and kicks at the door, and yells rude things in that other human language of hers. “Byeeeee,” Hunter says, and behind the closed door, Luz makes a muffled noise of rage and shouts, “Would you stop saying that!?”
And it doesn’t make things better but it doesn’t make things any worse, either, and when Hunter turns away he is almost smiling—so maybe it’s okay.
.
The sun sets. The dusty room has been aired out to its best ability, and Hunter has made a somewhat functional and comfy-looking bed in the corner. A sticky note with the boiling sea + ice = human rain idea has been ceremoniously pinned to the empty wall space. In addition to the sticky notes, Luz has donated his “sad, bad boy room” what looks to be a dying houseplant. Hunter suspects she gave it to him purely because she has despaired of trying to keep it alive herself.
He puts the plant on the windowsill. The palisman apparently loves it. Maybe he should find red tulips for it to eat. Whatever a red tulip is.
He settles next to the palisman on the windowsill, and strokes its head with his finger. He feels strangled and small and the sunset looks alien to him. Everything has changed. Everything is over. He is a powerless witch with a wild magic staff, and he will never be the Golden Guard again.
His eyes burn. He blinks fast. Far down below, he can hear the Owl Lady and Luz arguing over dinner.
“I still don’t know what I’m doing here,” Hunter tells the palisman. The sunset makes all the trees look shadow-like and sharp, outlined in red. It reminds him of his palisman, a little bit. “I don’t even like these people. What do you think? Is it too late to head back and dig myself a grave in the rubble?”
I’m happy I know you, chirps the palisman. It hops from the dying houseplant to the top of his head.  I love you, I love you.
His throat feels tight. “…That still isn’t a real answer.”
I want apple blood for breakfast tomorrow. The palisman nibbles at his hair. It looks tasty.
He’s quiet for a long moment. Then he closes his eyes. “Okay. If— if you say so.”
The sun is setting, and the light is warm on his face. The Boiling Isles feels, for once, almost something like peaceful. It probably won’t last.
“We’ll stay.”
