i gotta fly to delhi today on my own from chennai and the way i am already preparing for the security check to pull my carry on bag into secondary inspection...

A BILLION problems #one time they didn't like my umbrella #i have finally learned after repeated attempts to just put my jewelry in my check-in #my business cards made them think i was carrying a ton of cash #not to mention you have to remove EVERY wire and electronic #and if god forbid you forget even one in your bag it is a Crisis™#typing this out just reminded me to put my external hard drive somewhere easy to grab it lol #at least once i'm in delhi i'm meeting up with other people #so for the rest of my flights this trip i'll be with other people #and we can lament together

I am sitting by the gate in shock, I have never experienced such chaos at an airport in my life. The word queue lost its meaning entirely. It was survival of the fittest. I was no match for the pack of Indians with luggage trolleys who brashly cut the whole entire line at check-in, but I was steeling myself to fight the old French people behind me if they tried the same thing. Who knew where the trays were coming from at security but clearly the only way to obtain them was to steal them from someone else and fight for a gap in the mass of humanity by the luggage scanner, whose conveyor belt and the metal-detector wanding station were at opposite ends of the room, so one just sort of surrendered one's bags to fate and oneself to the thorough prodding.

It makes me almost miss the security check in Delhi, which, while being the slowest queue I've ever experienced in my life, at least had a queue to experience.

#and ladakh is supposed to be chill compared to the rest of India huh #i will have the delhi experience again soon enough #at least here the security guys smile #no mr angry moustache

love it when they turn down the lights on long haul flights it really puts into perspective that the stewards are babysitting u and desperate for adult nap time

#im on a 10h30 flight and the power sockets and tvs dont work on any of the seats were in or any of the seats around us #literally my brother went ahead a section (like we're at the very back of the plane he went forward past the next set of loos) to find a #working socket so he could charge his battery #the TVs not working means we are stuck with only the things we have downloaded. not such a probby for me but hes only got uh #12 episodes of Jeremy Clarksons farming shit???#i dont know either.#anyway we had a 4h20 flight plus 2h+ layover so the devices are under strain #this is an exhausting flight folks! air india you have disappointed me #the experience in Bengaluru airport was also like.. nasty? army guys being really umm abrubt with us through security #they knew we'd just come off another flight too so ?? unnecessary man. they did the whole fucking rigamarole anyway #anyway i still have 4 hours left and im tired and bored #however i will say thr stewards on this flight have been so lovely i feel bad theyre stuck with this plane cos no passenger would be happy #i went to the back to ask for a little sweet treat and she brought me two then asked me how they were 🥰 love u girl they were incredible #no idea when or if thisll post lol #oh and to be clear the experience at the airport security with the army guys was just us 3. because we were connecting to another flight.

america has spent the last several decades with its focus on the middle east. i'm hoping in the coming years we see a shift in focus to the americas (north and south) and asia.

#america on its own is already an impenetrable autarkic fortress #but if we can secure all the americas? we'd be doubly set for eternity.#gotta secure the northwest passage and the panama canal and even the straight of magellan and drake's passage #then rebuild our relationships with latin america #imagine it -- two whole continents abundant in resources united in peace and commerce #it would be a great blessing #and then we could focus energy on containing china and securing our asian allies -- japan and south korea and the philippines and taiwan #and we have to strengthen our relationship with india #it's good right now but tenuous #and india stands to be a most critical ally in the coming decades #europe can handle russia and the middle east #with our support obviously #but i think it's time we hand them the reins
