i feel like most of the hate karen gets is solely because of her name like yeah she killed aiko but you'd be hard pressed to find a fan of a kodaka IP that hates a murderer for just murdering. it was obviously a crime of passion that she regrets. it clearly haunts her, from the way yuma describes her. but what can she do at that point? confess? would you do that?
i don't even like her. i'm a hard neutral on her. i just think it's funny how i've seen people actively hate her when the girl didn't do anything especially cruel
.
#raincode takes#mdarc#rain queued#mod guillaume ☔️#mdarc spoilers#karen raincode#ok i have ch2 autism so.#it’s hard to tell what karen really feels about the death of aiko because we only see her alive for ~30-45 minutes if that#and the mystery labyrinth’s manifestations of people can be distorted based on yuma’s perception of the case#so we don’t know if karen actually felt bad enough about murdering aiko to want her to die#but i will say — the face that she was the one to report aiko as dead despite killing her implies some level of guilt#especially considering the murder was second degree. she took over as lead actress yes but that could be to make herself seem less#suspicious

Ed says he hasn’t killed another person since killing his father, and I believe that he means that. But it doesn’t mean that he’s never directly caused anyone’s death. I think he remembers the horror of killing his father and really meaning it - really wanting to murder him. But he's never felt murderous like that since.
His confession highlights the dichotomy of his personality: he is riddled with guilt over murdering his father, and he feels like an imposter because he’s not murderous. The persona of Blackbeard is a “bloodthirsty killer” “born of the devil and all that. But he doesn’t have the bloodlust that’s attributed to him - killing for the sake of killing.
Even in S3 at his worst he is fine with people being killed, he wants to make the record with raids, which involves a lot of killing, but I don’t think he feels particularly murderous . They call him Stede’s “serial killer boyfriend” and he’s certainly killing people, but he’s not doing it for the sake of murdering them - it’s very different than someone like Ned Low who just likes to torture people for the sake of it.
#ofmd#ofmd s2#gentlebeard#edward teach#he's not a murderer but he kills people#he is a good person and he does have friends#blackbeard is an unreliable narrator#blackbeard#it's the difference between first and second degree murder

#I've been radicalized for a while now but I feel like there were different events that radicalized me more and more#like I first became radicalized just like by becoming a history major and understanding how the world works#and then I got further radicalized when I started working in retail especially experiencing going on strike#but the uhc shooting case is also radicalizing me more i think#because like I knew the government cared more about the lives of ceos than the rest of us#but seeing the case play out in real time really drives the point home#mass shootings happen in the usa and they offer nothing but thoughts and prayers#one ceo gets shot and they set up helplines and increase security without thinking “hmmm why do people hate us”#and the way they're tacking on all these bullshit charges like TERRORISM to make an example of him#and I read they're considering persuing federal charges#if luigi mangione had shot some random person it would be a straightforward second degree murder charge#but it was a ceo so now he's a terrorist and might be tried federally#and people are too busy arguing about whether murder is wrong or not to focus on the bigger issue#which is that some lives are valued more by the government than others#and the justice system is inherently unfair in the way it reflects that#and we're seeing it play out in real time but people are focused on wrong issues#“oh so you condone murder” no murder is bad but why is Brian Thompson's life more important than anyone else's#why are police shootings not murder#why is bombing a foreign country not mass murder#why are people with white victims more likely to face the death penalty than people with black victims#~uhc shooting

i would like to see either nikolai or sigma's sentences please :3 /nf
THANK YOU!!! YOU ARE FUELING MY TWO FAVORITE THINGS!!!
under the cut bc length. [it got REALLY long]
anyways, nikolai and sigmas prison sentences as they would be in the US.
note: i’m not using the wiki for this. i doubt it covers everything, so im going back through the manga and analyzing everything from there. aside from finding out manga appearances, everything else is research and pre-memorized info.
note 2: i may have made a few mistakes with the sentencing but it should be accurate enough give or take 10 years.
note 3: there’s no minimum sentence since majority of research i’m doing leads to me picking the minimum years since it usually states “punishable by life imprisonment or any number of years” which is unspecific and sucks so i just dropped the category

#[1] i wouldve included something about his gun but the laws vary so much state by state itd be difficult to find a proper middle ground and-#-gun control laws are really iffy and varied in general with a lot of uncertain elements like concealed carry etc#[2] referring to the poles he used to fight atsushi chapter 58#[3] not entirely sure since nobody stole support infrastructure before so theres no law for it#[4] verbal assault is an umbrella term so its a little difficult to pin down; when he asks one of the government people if theyre ready to-#-“say bye-bye to their lower halves” going based off the context; it fits the legal definition of verbal assault#[5] taking the syringes at face value and assuming theyre actually poisoned despite inconsistencies with approximate death times#[6] not entirely sure how nikolai got the floor plans to the prison; and as far as i looked; the act of possessing them doesnt seem illegal#[7] its implied that he tries to kill fyodor very often; i cant find examples but 111 fyodor states nikolai has tried to kill him on -#-several occations#[8] at about chapter 72 sigma states the casino is run under international law; i’m not running nikolai’s sentence in japan so i’m ignoring#-that piece and giving him the same reference state as nikolai#[9] the coin explosives being held in a customer room#[10]the coin bombs that were to be distributed via the casino and explode once distributed enough#[11] via the customers in the casino and security; sigma really likes his crimes by proxy doesn’t he.#[13] the gun in the comms room is definitely illegal but to keep things in line with Nikolai i’m not counting gun law violations unless its#-obvious like murder or manslaughter#[14] attempted manslaughter in of itself is a contradictory term; the way it’s defined and the way i’m using it is in reference to sigmas-#-state of mind right then. where he was engaging in a desperate attempt to save his casino via stopping teruko by any means necessary-#-and was not in a proper state of mind to be accurately tried for attempted second degree murder as he normally would’ve been.-#-the legal term for this is “in the heat of passion” i believe.#[15] trying to take teruko with him in death#[16] i can’t find punishments for terrorism so it’s not counted in the final tally#i spent actual hours on this [not regretted one bit]#oh my hod i don’t want to look at the michigan legislature for another month after this#it was so much fun though ty xan#soda incarcerates your faves#bsd#bsd nikolai#bsd sigma

consulting my friend in law school to make sure that my backstory for vox is accurate. i was inspired by @gabrielsbubblegumbitch to say that yeah vox absolutely murdered his wife. I'm just trying to figure out how to get this bitch capital punishment
#from my research there is absolutely no way a wealthy attractive white man in the 50s would be sentenced to death#for second or third degree murder#so i'm trying to see what the extenuating circumstances might need to be in order to make this happen realistically#i've become obsessed with the idea that vox died via electric chair

Do you think that if chosen knows the full story of Tim would they see them as the younger version of themselves? The one who terrorized the internet because of all the anger inside?
That of course doesn't excuse Tim's action and that chosen shouldn't dislike Tim but, imagine
honestly? i personally think Chosen would have too much trouble sympathizing with Victim after what they did. Chosen just kind of was lashing out, whereas Victim is clearly planning all of this. Chosen never went out of their way to plan on hurting people. They just did because they were upset and wanted to take it out on someone.
#tommy's foolery#sort of the difference between first and second-degree murder. you know?#tommy's stickmen tag#plus Victim kind of scares Chosen too much. they have to go far out of their way to hurt people#where Chosen is just innately destructive#because Chosen was made to fight and Victim was made to just be weak
