Alright, I have to admit I have not kept up at all with the Carnage/Flash side of Venom comic verse these past few years, so - who is Aria? The few issues I've read centered on Flash during these wacky symbiote times did not contain her, and the Marvel comics wiki gives me nothing. But you have me curious.
Hey there, friend! You wanna know who Aria is? Well, that's exactly what I'm here for. You're right, though - I'm not sure she even has a wiki article yet. She doesn't even have a last name! But I'm all for those underappreciated characters, so, let's go.
(All the following panels will be by Gronbekk/Perez from Carnage 2023.)
(Carnage #1)
We first meet Aria as the bartender at the very on-the-nose-named "Pour Decisions" bar. "Wait, isn't Flash an alcoholic?" Well... yeah. But Aria doesn't know that. And As you can see by the narration, it doesn't have the same effect on him that it used to. But, you'll see this is just another demon he has to battle.
Aria is clearly familiar with Flash - he's become a regular by this point. He's also a bit of a loner but he still knows how to put on the charm. But also, Aria understandably shows some concerns about him.
Flash is seeking purpose in his life, but he's not finding it. Aria knows he's well-meaning, but as always, Flash sometimes gets himself into trouble when he tries to help. It's too bad!
Because Flash is the best, he does apologize for his ill-timed heroics, and like, honestly, who can stay mad at him? Not Aria, even with her perfect hair. (I love her hair.)
(Carnage #2)
She also calls him out on looking like a damn mess.
She's SO into him though and it's so cute. I'm gonna cry. She wants to take that boy home and [redacted/saved for fanfic].
Aria unfortunately vanishes for most of the rest of the series, but since we're appreciating women, let's appreciate Liz for a second here too, after she and Flash take down Carnage.
(Carnage #8)
I'm always giggling at this. Flash doesn't get why there are so many damn symbiotes these days, either.
So even though Aria saw Flash initially as a mess (which he was)...
...after nearly dying at Carnage's hand multiple times/almost losing his mom/being trapped in the Darkforce Cube etc etc, he decides he's got to put himself back together. I do like the panel of him fixing one of his prostheses a lot. It's a nice touch we haven't seen the likes of since Space Knight. (Nice job, Gronbekk & Perez!)
I love this scene where she makes him a mocktail. A fruity little drink. And he does love it. Because who wouldn't.
Like, oh my God, even Liz sees it. She's definitely hinting that if Flash doesn't snatch up Aria, she will.
And then my most FAVOURITE Flash/Aria scene... that truly solidifies that maybe possibly there's a chance for them??? MAYBE??
THAT BOY IS GETTING LAAAAAAAAAAAID ahem. Anyways.
I just, I really love this! It's spot-on with the fact that when Flash is really into someone, he's kind of awkward! But he's soooo sincere and Aria is SO into it. He's taking active interest in what she's into! He's pulling himself together! He's living again!
I want Flash/Aria to happen so badly like, you don't even know. I want them to go jogging in crop tops together. I want them watching birds and getting coffee and her giving him That Look fifteen more times. I want him to treat her RIGHT and for this to be his best relationship since Betty.
But mostly, I just want Aria to survive the next goddamn event.
#in hindsight i'm realziing aria was only in three issues LMAO#but you guys know me... i love my women#also like lbr there are not that many WOC in symbiote comics#aria is super cute and super cool#i want to know everything about her#i don't care about carnage i just want more ariaaaaaaaa#i'm normal. i'm normal.#flash thompson#agent anti-venom#aria#flasharia#the identity reveal would go so crazy omg...omg.......#asked and answered#kita talks comics

"I Saw An Angel"
Male Reader x Male Character
Hello, if you are reading this then, I don't know what happened.
I'm just a high school senior, I have more important things to worry about then what's been happening. But I finally snapped with what happened today.
I'm writing this right after it happened, I'm still in the same place thing happened.
The big oak tree right outside the school. I'm writing this on the back of my math homework.
Maybe I'm finally going insane.
But I need to tell someone about this, I need people to know what happened, even if they think I'm crazy. I'm getting a head of myself. You don't even know what happened.
Let me take you back to when it all started.
It started a few weeks ago, when I started having weird dreams.
I remember them like they really happened. It was always the same dream over and over again every night.
Like a broken record playing the same verse over and over. I was walking though the sky.
I could see the vast sky below me and the shimmering night sky above.
I felt like I was walking on clouds.
I never looked down in the dreams, but I could feel the clouds sink beneath my feet, but they were still strong enough to hold me up. I look around and saw temples straight out of ancient Greece.
They were massive, towering in size over me like the tallest skyscrapers, the only difference? These were able to go though the sky, not scrape it.
I never went in the builds, I only marveled at them while I heard people talk inside of them.
Well, it didn't sound like talking, but it did? It sounded like they were speaking another language.
Then I saw him.
I got so far away that I found myself in a vast space with nothing.
Only the clouds beneath me and the stars above me. I always walked the same path each dream.
Like I had somewhere to be, like I knew this is where I was meant to go.
Then I saw him.
A boy with wings. He had white wings that sprouted from his back.
He had on a robe that I read about in some ancient books about even more ancient civilizations.
I could see one of his wings, it sprouted under his shoulder blade.
The other side was covered by the robe. He had bright blonde hair.
I'm not kidding, his hair shined like the sun on the brightest days. Now, I knew I was gay.
I had found that out years ago, but, this boy just steeled that fact.
He was the most beautiful boy in the world, my heart is pounding just thinking about him.
I felt my face heat up in the dream when I saw him too.
I felt so happy when I saw him, like I knew that he was the one I love, that he was the only one I wanted and the only person I wanted to spend my life with.
But every time I took a step forward I woke up.
I sat straight up in my bed, breathing heavily with a red face.
At first, I thought it was a weird dream. I had just broken up with someone I had dated for a year.
Yet it happened again, and again, and again. Then I found myself thinking about the boy at every second of the day. I spaced out in every class, at lunch, at home.
My only thought was the boy with wings.
He was like an angel, up in the clouds with hair the shined like a halo and wings the could fly him anywhere. I had gotten used to the weird dreams and plaguing thoughts.
Until today.
I was just trying to get to my next class when something caught my eye. Just outside a window near the side of the school.
A big oak tree stood that was probably older then all of the people at the school.
It was him, the angel from my dream.
I had the dream so many times, day dreamed about him, thought about him so much that his image was burned into my brain. I knew it was him.
I wasn't even thinking as I rushed out of the school. I had ran to the tree, only a few yards from the angel. He looked the exact same as my dreams.
Blonde hair that glowed really bright, I mean so bright that I had a hard time looking at it for more then a few seconds. His body was thin, yet he had a little muscle definition.
His wings were folded behind him, covering most of his back and body and face.
I took a few steps forward at first. Thinking that I was going to wake up like this was a dream.
That's what it felt like. My heart was racing faster then ever, I wanted to run put to him and hold him in my arms. Bury my nose in his hair, fell his skin under my hands.
Stare into his eyes, during that moment, I somehow knew that his eyes were the most beautiful eyes ever, and I was right. I took another step forward and he turned around.
He turned slightly, so he his body was sideways but his head was turned towards me.
He looked at my with blue eyes, the most beautiful blue eyes in the world.
They were dark yet bright at the same time.
They looked like the ocean yet shined like stars in the sky.
I swore I could see individual stars in his eyes, as they swirled like the ocean.
He smiled when he saw me, I'm blushing just remembering the smile.
He looked so happy, his eyes closed when he smiled. He didn't show his teeth.
Yet I wanted to see that smiled for the rest of my life. I wanted to be the reason he smiled like that forever. His smile was small, a little teasing.
I loved it, I smiled when I saw it.
Then it hit me, like a brick launched out of a bazooka. I had just finished a class about history. They had talked about how some people believe in ethereal beings.
People with wings and a halo above their head that shined like the sun.
That lived in the clouds and watched people, that looked like the most perfect people.
I saw an angel.
I had had dreams about angel and I saw that angel.
By the time I realized that I had looked up and the angel was gone. I had ran to where they were standing but nothing was there. No foot prints, no notes, nothing.
Expect, a feather.
I picked up the feather, it's still in my pocket as of the time I'm writing this.
I, in fact, sat down against the tree and started writing this after the angel disappeared.
I still don't know what's happened or what's happening, I don't know why I feel so in love with his angel. I thought I knew what love was, but I was wrong.
I know I love this angel, I know I saw one.
So, I don't know what happened, I don't know why I'm writing this. I know whoever reads this is going to think I'm crazy and if my parents find out, I'm going to a mental hospital.
I don't care.
I know that the angel is watching over me, I'm excited to see him in my dream tonight. Maybe someone else knows what's happening, maybe this happened to someone else.
But all I know is, I saw an angel.
You looked up at the sky once you finished writing. You stared at the sun, which somehow looked less bright since you saw his bright halo like hair.
You looked down at the letter, you frowned and crumbled it in your hands. This was stupid, maybe you were crazy. You sighed and stood up.
Picking up your bag off the ground and putting the pen back in it. You threw the letter into a trash can beside the door to the school. You opened the door right as the bell rang.
Great, you skipped an entire class.
You shook your head and prepared for the questions you were going to get from everyone. Before you stepped in the school you looked towards the sky.
You had an itching feeling that someone was watching you. You smiled at that thought it was the angel. Maybe you were right, or maybe you just needed more sleep.
You went into the school, quickly forgetting the note.
Yet, outside the school. Someone with wings, blue eyes, and bright blonde hair picked up the letter out of the trash. He uncrumpled it and read it.
He smiled when he finished it, placing it in his robe pocket. He would make sure to visit you in your dreams, maybe he would see you in real life again too.
Maybe you two would become friends, talk to each other, maybe even before more then friends. Maybe you could call him the angel. Only time could tell, but for now.
You only saw an angel.

The Marvels (2023)
Not usually reviewing films but here we are. A friend of mine invited me to the cinema to see The Marvels. And so we did, two days ago.
Neither of us expected much. I haven't seen Ms. Marvel. I thought Captain Marvel was 'meh' and a bit bland. Not offensive in any way (if you discount the blatant milatary propaganda) but ultimately Just A Marvel ProductTM. And not even a fun one. At least not fun for me.
And no offence to Teyonah Parris, but her character was definitely the least interesting thing about WandaVision. That's not saying much, seeing as that miniseries was great and one of the best things Marvel did since Infinity War... But it just goes to say that this didn't seem that promising.
The trailer for it looked quite cool though.
My friend Marek, who was bitching to me about how bad Captain Marvel is for years now, invited me to see The Marvels with him in the cinema. Mostly as a joke. Although he did enjoy Ms. Marvel. But still, neither of us expected much.
To our surprise - The Marvels is really good and we both enjoyed ourselves a lot.
It's really, really good.
While I don't think it can stand shoulder to shoulder with stuff like The Suicide Squad, Across the Spider-verse or GotG Vol. 3, I still feel comfortable calling it one of the best superhero movies of this decade so far. It's easily the 2nd best MCU movie since Spider-man: Far From Home, imo. (admittedly, I haven't seen all of them, so take this hot take with a grain of salt... I just really enjoyed The Marvels)
So now I'm gonna do a wee bit of gushing about some of the reasons why it's so good. (spoilers bellow)
Carol, Kamala, and Monica are just really fun to watch? Their interaction is amazing.
Kamala can be a bit cringey but in an authentically teenage way and I really enjoyed that! Her being a huge fan of Captain Marvel never stopped feeling real. Yeah, of course she's into RPF.
Consequences! I love when things in stories have consequences. And this is all built around consequences to the stuff Captain Marvel did. She did them with good intentions... But that didn't necessarily matter. And I love that. It adds a bit of complexity and nuance that's less and less common in superhero movies these days.
Which ties into... Carol not being perfect. She's amazing and powerful but she can't save everyone.
Carol is also... really fun? With a slight nudge she just became a really well-written, interesting protagonist? I love this version of Captain Marvel and I want more!!! Brie Larson finally gets to show off a bit as an actress!
She just really gave me Xena vibes, in the best possible way.
While the villain isn't an all-time great, the actress went for dignity and it payed off. She feels iconic and you understand where she's coming from.
Monica's sacrifice was quite powerful and kinda hit me.
The "training sequence" where Carol, Monica, and Kamala are practicing the switching is perfect. I love it. No notes.
I love that while it's only an indirect continuation of Captain Marvel, it takes the best bits from that film and builds on them. For me, Goose is the best bit of that film - a cat, but make it eldritch and alien, as well as bigger on the inside? Nice, love it. So what do we do with that idea the second time around? MORE CATS!!! I got a bit excited when I saw the kittens in the trailer and they did not disappoint. (Can the next movie be set on their planet? Please?)
But it's not just "there are kittens now" though. THE KITTENS ARE INTEGRAL TO THE PLOT. It's not just there to be there, but it's an important plot point. And it's so fun!
Nick Fury is also fun.
But it's not just taking what worked and expanding on it. This movie got really creative!
For example - the worlds! Especially the Bollywood planet. Great stuff.
That's just some of the reasons to like this film. I'm probably gonna watch it again when it's on Disney+
If you haven't seen it yet, go do that it if it's still playing in a cinema near you. It's definitely worth a watch if you are in the mood for a fun, well-made superhero film.
I'm really looking forward to what Nia DaCosta does next. This film really didn't deserve to underperform and I hope she gets another stab at a big blockbuster like this in the future.

@biitchcakes tagging because it's about them. and if i had verse tags. it'd get it's own verse. but the clintjess ship. Aurora and worked out their timeline and details and gosh i love them.
they have many mini breaks and break ups, but here's the major points.
FIRST TIME DATING -> Post CW 1, post Skrull invasion, post bobbi & clint break up. You know the canon, Clint and Jess get together,
FIRST BREAK UP -> Fraction 2012, Clint cheats and he's stupid, you know how canon goes
SECOND TIME DATING -> They get back together as a result of Secret Avengers 2014, what can he say? She's cute, she bonded with a sentiment bomb; he wormed his way into her heart
SECOND BREAK UP -> Heavily divergent CW2, cause yeah, Clint kills Bruce. That's kind of his girlfriend's very dear friend. IT'S FIIIIIINE.
THIRD TIME DATING -> So they make up, ometime around Occupy Avengers pre Kate's WCA. Clint gets sober. . . and they reconnect, and Clint also basically asks Jessica to move to the West Coast with him, while Kate's setting up her WCA :) Jess says yes :) Spiderhawk adventures on the West Coast for /who knows how long; eventually they move back to NYC
THIRD BREAK UP / FIRST BREAK -> Freefall Hawkeye. Clint relapses with drinking, and goes a little off the deep end; and you know how that is. Freefall. Ronin. They kind of breakup, but Jessica helps him gets sober again. and hey she'll date hm again !
FOURTH TIME DATING -> Clint thinks that this time, they are gonna break up from dating cause they are gonna be fiancés/fiancées shhhhhh don't tell Jessica yet.
anyways. shout out to literally every other marvel character in the universe, especially Jessica's besties and Clint's besties. cause boy. THAT'S A TURBLENT RELATIONSHIP.

Title: Our Love Story
Featuring : Simon Dominic ( Jung Kiseok) and Bae Joohyun
Chapter : Forewords
Genre : Fluff, Angst, Semi Au Verse, Rated18
23 December 2022
Joohyun
"Let me help you with it."
A simple sentence genuinely meant to be helpful turns out to be a regret within a few minutes later. I shouldn't have been nosy. In the new year, my resolution should be listed as:
1) keep your eyes on the ground, no- just close your eyes when you're walking,
2) don't get involved with your surroundings, and
3) talk less, no- offer less.
Might as well start the new resolution now because there is no word slipping past my lips. All I could do was to stand there, handing over the two insanely heavy bags to the elderly couple's son.. My smile is still intact, my pretentious-not-to-be-shocked-smile that is. I avoided eye contact with him, focusing only on the older lady as she introduced her son and thanking me at the same time. Because I was very kind and helpful, she offered containers of side dishes for me to bring home which I initially vehemently rejected but damn, this family and their smooth tongues. I should know that very well since years ago, I did fall in love with their only son.
Despite the thick blanket of snow covering the streets, my day started out bright and positive. I had a nice hot cup of chocolate and warm freshly baked croissant from the nearby bakery which I ended up staying for more than an hour, before making my way back to my new home. A lovely apartment across the street, that I have spent a long time saving for. Because it was a lovely morning, I smiled more to passerby, excused the little kid who was wailing right in my ears while we were waiting for the traffic light, and rushed to help the elderly couple with their big bags. I didn't count how many they had, I simply reached out to lessen their loads. I didn't mind the weight of these bags either, as we three walked into lobby. Turns out their son was staying in the same building as me, only different level. So I offered to walk them to their son's apartment first just like any kind hearted person would.
Because of the damn lovely morning, I am now standing awkwardly at the the doorstep of my ex boy- no he wasn't that. I realize just then I don't even know what to call him except my past, my favourite past. We did not utter a word, did not even look at each other, both simply allowing his mother to marvel at the kindhearted girl, me, who helped them out while shoving the side dishes in my hands. I am certain he too, was pretending that we both didn't know each other at all. And just like any other mothers who over shared, his just had to fill him in the fact that I was staying at the upper level. An information that he didn't need to know, I guarantee.
And just like any other mothers, she urges her son to walk me to the elevator as though I am quite incapable of locating the elevator myself. Once again I politely reject her kind gesture, and yet again, this family never fail to show me that stubborn runs in their blood. Again I remind myself I am very well aware of that particular fact.
"You don't have to wait for the elevator with me," I suggest immediately when it was just the two of us.
"I know."
It shouldn't surprised me that he did not attempt to leave as soon as he said that but it did. The elevator as though intentionally slow, clearly tormentng the two of us, opens after seemingly took forever. I step in, finally taking a good look at him. He appears thinner than before, but that does not make him any less handsome. "Please convey my thanks to your mother. These," I raise the boxes slightly above my chest, "are really appreciated. But... please know that I won't be returning the boxes. Not personally at least."
"I will. And I know."
I gave him a quick nod as a goodbye and curled my lips into a smile, not saying anything else as I press the button to close the door. I stare at the button I have pressed impulsively just seconds ago where I was determined not to let him find out my actual floor.
Fuck my life. Now I have to do a workout up the stairs.

god killer. a semi closed verse with @bolyde
" on the night you disappeared, oh if i had seen it clear, but a strange light in the sky was shining right into my eyes; there was no one else in sight, just the endless frozen pines, but i wonder all they know, cause they don't die and they don't grow. "
"You're not ready to die yet."
You're startled by the voice. Above you sits Mephistopheles, larger than life. There's something in his hands but you can't make it out; all you see is the glint of your reflection in his spectacles. You feel tiny, remarkably so. You feel helpless.
So this is death.
Slowly you sit up, and marvel at the lack of pain in your body. The storm you'd found yourself in had been a monster of a thing, an unexpected tempest amidst the tranquility of the Chionthar. You remember light, a floating silhouette, a crown made whole once more. And then you lost your grip.
"I can see it in your eyes; you have unfinished business on Faerun," the archdevil continues. He tilts his head, regarding you -- before smiling. (All pointed teeth, you notice.) "Or -- is it Ao, now? You keep interesting company, little bard. A godling...you wear his ring on your finger even now. And he wears my crown as we speak."
Memories are returned to you with a finger snap. A promise broken, a secret revealed, a god born. A life ended. Your life. Despite sitting in the afterlife now, your chest burns with pain.
So much for a happy ending, then.
Mephistopheles adjusts his spectacles, and turns to face you. "I can take you back," he says. "A shiny new second chance, just for you. I just need a quick favor from you first, and then you're home free. Don't look at me like that, I think you'll like what I have to say."
"You want the crown," you say, and there's a twitch of surprise from the archdevil. "I'll do you one better. I'll get a matching Netherese orb. Having half the collection does nothing, eh?"
"Interesting. And what do you want in exchange for this?"
"The ability to separate the man from the god."
An infernal scroll unfurled in front of Serendipity. A glowing contract, with a line for him to sign his name. "Why not -- I'm curious to see if you can keep him alive for a tenday after this."
With a shaky hand, you sign your soul away -- and make a vow to kill a god.
an alternate ending where serendipity and the tadfools go after god Gale to take him down. closed to other Gales.

Aaron in the Spider-Verse
This is something I've thought about on occasion, though I've never done much with it because it's always so... awkward starting interactions with other superhero accounts (aside from MHA OCs for some reason-). I don't even know why, it's probably just from my experiences with them over on Twitter. The Persona verse was much more accepting of Aaron as a concept than most other Marvel accounts, so it's always been hard to reach out.
ANYWAYS, back on topic-
I don't think Aaron would really have much of a place in the Spider-Verse, at least the comic book one. To put it in layman terms, there are these things called totems, people embodying or empowered by different animals, and Spider Totems are special for some big multiversal thingy that holds all the worlds together for reasons I can't remember and don't feel like looking up. And there are even special-er totems that take on a specific role in some cycle or whatever-
Anyways, I bring all this up because Aaron isn't any of that. He has spider powers, but he's not a totem (because yes that can happen). Aaron's kind of an outlier, in both the Spider-Verse and among other Persona users, even other Jokers. The things that allow him to be both a Spider-Man and a Persona user are also the things that keep him from truly fitting in with either group.
I've even thrown around the idea of Aaron not being his world's Spider-Person, that it's actually his kid (whoever that turns out to be) who becomes their link to the Web of Life and Destiny. But maybe that's a bit too far.
I don't know, I just like Aaron being an outcast among outcasts for some reason.
For the movie Spider-Verse though, he'd fit in alright. They don't really have totems as far as I know, and Aaron's definitely had a few canon events, at least in the main AU.
Though he also never has an Uncle Ben moment, since he didn't need one (Canonically, Joker helps that woman without a second thought, so he didn't need to learn anything to become a hero. Just needed to reaffirm the beliefs he already had). The closest he has is Shiho, but no matter the verse there is nothing he could've done to prevent what happened... yet he blames himself anyway, because of course he does.
So yeah, he'd fit in fine and relate to a bunch of the different Spiders. Though, I imagine as excited as he'd be by the idea of alternate realities (he's a massive nerd after all), he'd be a bit more conflicted on the idea of him being a part of some massive legacy. Like he wouldn't be sure if he deserved to be a part of it, and would be constantly terrified of tarnishing it in some way.
Something else I think would be interesting is meeting up with a few particular Spiders. Generally any Spider around his age would be someone he would grow attached to. It's hard to find people who just... get exactly what you're going through. He'd similarly bond pretty well with any Spider that started in their teens, and would take their advice to heart should they offer any.
But the biggest one has to be Miguel O'Hara (My favorite fictional character of all time!!) Because Spidey 2099 is literally the character he grew up reading, who inspired him in so many ways, who he partially based his outfit on, albeit subconsciously. And while Miguel isn't identical to the Prophet of Thor Aaron is such a big fan of, he's close enough that he'd recognize him immediately and fan boy his heart out.
This last part is gonna get into spoilers for Across the Spider-Verse, so if you somehow haven't seen it yet, first of all go watch it right now. This is a threat. Secondly, come back to this after you've seen it to see that-
So, let's talk about the Spider Society and canon. Aaron would probably be really excited about the place at first, super happy to be around other people like him, not to mention working alongside a guy who is all but living incarnation of his childhood hero. But over time, he'd get a bit... less so. Namely when it comes to the canon.
Aaron has two simple beliefs that are the core of who he is. "Inaction makes you complicit" and "There is always a better way."
In other words, if someone gets hurt and you had a chance to stop it, it's on you. And if you come across a situation that forces you to break or bend your moral code, you weren't looking hard enough.
Simple, a bit naive in some ways, but that's just who he is.
So finding out that the Spiders are actively letting people die for the sake of the multiverse... Yeah, he'd hate that.
I mean on one hand, he'd kinda understand because with that many lives at stake, of course you wouldn't want to risk it, but on the other "There's always another way." And it's the fact that they don't seem to be looking for it, that they seem content to just let people die to keep the status quo, that would really piss him off.
I do feel like he'd try to give them the benefit of the doubt at first, like wait a bit before doing anything to drastic and try to see things from their perspective, since he would want to get along with them, especially Miguel. But eventually, especially if someone's life is on the line, he's going to turn on them.
Originally when I thought up this idea, the life that was on the line was someone close to him, someone who's death would be a canon event. But while I do think that would still work, I realized it really doesn't have to be anyone from his universe, anyone he knows at all. Sure, it's impactful to see how far he'd go for someone he cares about, but I think it's even moreso if he goes that same distance for a complete stranger, not to mention totally in line with his character.
It would really tear him up inside to go against them, especially Miguel since he's again, basically his childhood hero on par with Batman and Sonic... But he's gotta stay true to his beliefs.
Now herein lies the issue with writing anything related to canon and the Spider-Verse movies-
We don't know who's right.
Yes, there are hints throughout the film that Miguel is wrong and that canon isn't what holds the multiverse together or that there is another way, but we don't know the how or why of it, nor what that other way is yet. Which is a pretty important thing to know when writing a story where two characters fight over something like this. And until Beyond the Spider-Verse comes out, the only way to really tell the kind of story that I want to tell, of Aaron going against the Society and desperately searching for either proof that they're wrong, or another way to keep the canon intact without letting people die, is to just make something up... which could end up being disproven whenever the movie eventually releases.
Which as someone who is obsessed with continuity, is not really something I want to happen-
So as much as I would like to write that stuff, I think I'd rather just wait for Beyond...
Still down to interact with other Spiders though. Just gotta work up the courage to... y'know, do that-

2024 Game Clear #8 Marvel's Spider-Man 2
Peter failed to load in at one point and turned into a white cube
I hope white cube Spider-Man is in spider-verse 3
(Rambly spoilers thoughts under the cut)
The first Insomniac Spider-Man is one of my favorite games, one of my favorite piece of media, did Spider-man 2 top it? well... no but I still had a damn good time with it and I didn't expect it to since the first game was my absolute ideal of a Spider-Man game & story due to this kind of being the darker middle chapter & the baggage of what it's adapting and pulling from pushes it away from that ideal but it's still a damn fine game.
Also while the first game was the ultimate Spider-Man game that replaced all other Spider-Man games, this is the ultimate Spider-man game that replaces all other symbiote games, throw out your copy of web of shadows with it's unintentionally hilarious moonlight sonata intro you don't need it because this game is literally web of shadows 2 at the end.
Maybe don't throw out your copy of Ultimate Spider-Man yet since it's still the place for a full playable Venom experience but Venom is playable for a second and that really cool
actual maybe don't throw out any games that seems wasteful
So this is my first real next gen game and damn stuff like the opening sandman fight where you get thrown across the city or even non action scene stuff where the city will pan from miles to peter on the other side of the east river was wild to me. I don't think the fact I can just click on at any point on the map and instantly travel there without a loadscreen will ever feel naturally to me genuinely feels like black magic.
Here a bulleted list of random smaller random thoughts
Norman begging Harry to stop during the venom section was heartbreaking
So does Peter just have a symbiote forever now? I guess we'll probably deal with that in the DLC that definitely
I kinda wish Kraven didn't get what he wanted, that the spiders were able to take him down by the book without the symbiote's help but that venom fight in time square is great so eh
I loved Miles helping Peter regain control that fight is amazing also that they call each other Spider-Man
Being able to find the other Spider-Man or Wraith already fighting a crime is so cool
Kraven really cleaned house huh RIP Toomes and Herman i'm sure someone else will take and use your stuff RIP Gargan & Max I really liked your designs and sad to see you go
It's cool that the Donny Cates Venom stuff is kinda woven into the subtext of the symbiote designs
That Spider-Verse cameo! what the heck!
Wish you could change Peter tendrils back to black especially since you get the classic black suit so late in the game
I hope they don't do Superior for the next game, it is different but I don't want to see Peter not acting like himself again so quickly after doing the black suit stuff. I guess you could do it with Miles but im not crazy about that either
No fear, "They might do hulk goblin instead of glider flying pumpkin throwing Halloween man goblin because it's more video gamey", One Fear
Actually I've never really thought about how this Peter is framed as being a experienced and well oiled Spider-Man but Fisk aside he's never really fought any of his A-lister before the events of the games, Vulture could very well been one of his bigger enemies and that kinda cool to think about
Still miss Peter's old face

Spider-Verse Showdown Essay
This was for a scholarship, but I also just really love Spider-Man
Tobey, Andrew, and Tom are all Spider-Man in their own way. Each actor brought something different to the table, something either beloved like Tom's final suit design, or something much more controversial like Bully Maguire. These three are the spiders mentioned in the "best Spider-Man" debate. People would ask, "Tobey, Tom, or Andrew?" However, to quote Shamiek Moore, "Nah, Imma do my own thing."
In 2018, Shameik Moore entered the running for best Spider-Man and hit the ground running. Just as RDJ and Hugh Jackman are Iron Man and Wolverine, Shameik is Miles Morales. He perfectly embodied the struggle of being a black kid burdened with great expectations, not only from his own family but from society. In his films, he is challenged with the question of what it means to be Spider-Man. The first film has Shameik gain a sense of confidence as he accepts that he is Spider-Man, coming into his own and using his unique experiences, history, and skillsets to save the day. The second film has him challenge those who resist his acceptance. His existence. Those who are against a Spider-Man other than Peter Parker. Despite decades of Spider-Man comic book history and the many continuities and canon events, Shameik refuses to be like the others. He is unashamed and unapologetic about who he is, something I wish kids like me heard much earlier in their lives.
In a time when the world focused on the live-action adventures of Tom Holland, I was waiting to see my Spider-Man. As an Afro-Korean American, I didn't have many superheroes who I could relate to. Of course, I had favorites (everyone loves Iron Man, right?) but a black kid could hardly relate to tech billionaires or blonde-haired thunder gods. I'd have to imagine myself as these characters, playing pretend with all sorts of costumes and toys. I was an Iron Man and a Hulk, but I was almost always Spider-Man. My brother and I would swing around the city fighting the likes of Sandman and Doc Ock. At a time when there were hardly any black heroes, we had to pretend to be people we weren't. We may have been these marvelous characters, but we weren't our own heroes.
I can still remember the day my father called me and my brother over to take a look at his computer. On the screen was an article about Spider-Man, yet Peter Parker had been dead for months in the comics. As I looked above the spider logo, I saw the young face of a black kid, no older than thirteen. With a smile on his face, my father said proudly, "The new Spider-Man is you two." From that day on, Peter Parker was a bygone memory. I finally had a hero to look up to. A hero I could relate to.
Shameik Moore is Spider-Man. Miles Morales is Spider-Man. He was a kid who not only looked at me but lived like me. Now I don't have spider-sense or good Spanish linguistic skills, but I am creative like him. I am smart like him. I am (debatably) funny like him. Out of all the Spider-Men in all sorts of media, Shameik's Miles Morales resonated with me the most. I am beyond grateful for him to be my Spider-Man and will live by his words: "Anyone can wear the mask".

oh man I love Wayfaring Stranger. have you heard the version by Thom Allison from Killjoys? (the internet apparently only has one copy that's not a show/spoilers music video, and you have to download it, but 10/10 recommend it here)
Will Wood is a grade-A match for Racer, every song I hear from him is just pure chaos. I think I've linked 2econd-2ight-2eer for both her and Fury in the past but idk where. "God forbid I'm seen just as an average human being" is truly her, she loves being the centre of attention and also like. she is just too wild to be average. (Funnily enough she's the least neurodivergent of the whole squad, besides the standard issue PTSD she's fine mentally, she's just like that all on her own. incredibly funny tbh) also "I outsmart them with a ray-gun and a tweet" yeah. she IS tweeting on the battlefield and Blue IS yelling at her about it. god forbid women do anything. I want her to say 'you have to like me' to Blue, he would snap.
the entire second verse of that song OUGH. yeah. chewing this like a beaver. "Born to live your legacy, xxisting just to fill your needs" is a great song for all the clones I'm gonna be ruminating that for like a week. it IS a shame it took so long to rescue ner, but hey, better late than never even when it comes to therapy, right. takes ner like ten years but whatever we stan anyway. and I'm having a lot of thoughts about 'never standing on my own' because hello squad life but also ne does have an Issue about standing out and how that's unsafe but also something ne wants to prove ne's not just another number in the army. not thoughts i can articulate but they're there.
Fury would love that song (canon Blackpink enjoyer, love that for him). You know that 'brutal fight scene set to peppy 80s music' trope? this is the music for him. "So if it takes forever, we'll save the world together" 🥺🥺🥺 yeah it's him!!! he's so determined to make things better, no matter what it takes, he's such an optimist and i love that for him. and "don't care if the world ain't ready for me" also yeah it's him!!! he's doing his thing regardless, he doesn't expect people to like. Vibe With It. but he loves when they do!
I say this politely (?) but this song sounds like a panic attack in the making and yeah. Mr Anxiety Issues for sure. "I can't do this man I'm not happy" LMAO. "I am happy, I am good, I am outta here screw you!" LMAO THE SECOND. he really does say 'get your shit together' a lot to the Aces, but like. you've seen them. you understand.
ooh I love this song with "you'll only stand a chance if you're out for love". and "think of who you care about, protect 'em and be out for love". and THE ENTIRE BRIDGE. this man has so much love and it's what he deserves honestly! look at him, he's such a doll.
I don't have time atm to listen to the playlists because it's almost dinner but I did peek at the song names and 👀
Run Run Rebel is a fabulous choice. love that her band's on there (idc who started it in canon, it's Liithal's now <3). Encanto song!!! yes. would you be at all surprised to know that Surface Presure is on Fury's playlist. oooh yes girl finally snap at your toxic family. oh shit there's a cast recording of The Lightning Thief??? Heirloom. OUGH. do I wanna know about "I miss her and I blame you" (yes I do gimme). omg Icon For Hire! I used to listen to them so much!
seeing SHIT on Sol's playlist took me out that's hilarious. A Sky Full of Stars is an adorable ship song I love that. and I am 100% stealing Therapy Is Cool Dad for one of the clone's playlists, idk which one yet. MULAN COVER SPOTTED. I have Could Have Been Me on Racer's and Fury's and Kestrel's playlists. MOTHER MOTHER SPOTTED. Favourite song of theirs. TREASURE PLANET SPOTTED. I used a lyric from Brother for the Barton boys once (extended Marvel phase. rip.) TARZAN SONG SPOTTED. Jackie and Wilson is such a good song love that for him.
randomly assign me a song from your playlist!
tell me about some of the most jarring songs that have played back to back!
tell me about the songs you like but won't listen to!
do you have songs you would assign to some of the Aces perhaps 👀
there's gotta be songs you assign to Liithal and/or Sol right 👀
also if you have OT3 vibes in there somewhere I live for OT3s
You get this song! Because I need to try to get more people into the No Evil fandom!
Okay I made a mini playlist specifically out of my jarring songs for your listening enjoyment!
Oh this should be fun. So, Christmas Shoes is a song I used to love, and it's still a great song. But until today, the last time i listened to it was on the radio on the way home from my dad's funeral in 2012. I think the fact that after over a decade, today I can finally hear it again without just turning it off is a pretty good mark that I'm really doing better than I was before.
Racer. What can I say? She be like that. Here me out: Whisper. I think it could fit. There are a lot of lines in this song that remind me of ner. Fury. For sure. I was going to give Blue a real serious song, but this song came up while i was looking and I thought of him So Hard, so here ya go. Ember. Because he's a badass motivated by love.
Liithal and Sol both do have playlists haha. Their lists overlap a lot because of couple songs of course. They are not yet in chronological order, but each song does correlate with events of their stories.
I probably have poly vibe songs around here somewhere, but unfortunately my mind has blanked here lol.

spiders man thonks. yuge yuge spoilers. marvel movies completely fall apart without their plot so putting everything under the cut and engaging all possible tag shielding procedures.
so right off the bat it will be impossible not to compare this to spider-verse. insane bar to set given the circumstances but AIGHT. my reasoning for that is that it tries to do many of the same things, especially irt facilitating pivotal hero growth through transcending satellite alternate self POVs/granting them their own catharses in the process/creating tangible moments of literal self-reflection as a result. here it's all framed towards earning the great responsibility line in-text (I mean it's been alluded to and thematically explored already, sure, but we're all about metanarratives in the MCU and this one completely shuts down any and all attempts at pretending otherwise).
and so to get there the plot twists itself into a weird carousel of multiverse villain vignettes that ambitiously attempt to microdose us on their ideological conflicts with their respective arachnofoes, which the film then entirely undersells by artificially misconstruing these arcs in order to deliberately hand holland-pete an opportunity to "fix" their "evilry" so they don't have to die later or some nonsense. it's. a very strange premise, even beyond the completely and utterly bonkers idea that these people's "evil nature" can be "fixed" (they keep using this word, not me) with pacifier mcguffins without really engaging with their ideologies in the first place - so it becomes this massive non-starter of a setup.
(it also reeks of a particular way of thinking in modern fandoms where a character death is to be avoided at literally all dramatic, thematic, and cathartic costs - even if it means completely handwaving their interiority away to simply get them to be friendly and sit around in a kitchen. Making a point to say I do NOT think this is intentional in story optics here, but due to the plot-first-story-second writing in all these MCU movies we can't help but end up plucking these mostly okay-executed characters from important dramatic points in their past movies and completely canceling their growth just to make sure they don't uhhh die as a result of those same coherent stories. and it's just strange seeing the movie stick to that moral high horse all the way through, turning it into this weird double-edged sword where it kinda makes sense for hollandman's psychology but also comes off disingenuously flippant in a meta sense toward past films and their approaches to story. it's weird. it's just weird and I don't like it. I'm sorry but giving otto a magic chip that fixes his mind and sending him back reformed is a thousand times less profound than the original crescendo of his emotional story in SM2. It just is. and i realize this movie has its own operating plane, I understand that, yet still. I dislike it selfishly anyway. get your own ock if you're doing this)
but it's all good because we have the other two white spider dudes from cinematic history past summoned in to help hollandman fix these baddies by giving them kindness serums and/or superpower handicaps and later on they also assist our lad in not becoming a literal killer by sharing in their vaguely similar trauma to help him cope with his. it. kinda works? but the catharses here are, again, hit-or-miss meta beats predicated on past films/minimal exposition/actor experiences(?) which. I mean. Is probably the best we're fucking getting in this weird transmedia landscape I guess. spider-verse did this and more in an entirely self-contained way, giving you every morsel of information and context necessary for its dramatic payoffs.
and again you just can't help but see the clunky satellite stories and then look back at the deft ping-pong dance of spider-verse's feedback loops between miles, pete, and gwen as they learn from and grow into their kinder, softer, braver selves. there really is no room for any such open-hearted story surgery here; it is much the same type of self-indulgent and kinetic romping across a kaleidoscope of fanservice the MCU is known for, so well-targeted and in abundance here that the fulfillment arrives all the same. so does any of this even matter? do coherent thematic beats matter? what happened in that oddly shallow moment where tobey momentarily stopped tom from impaling the goblin? with the meaningful gaze and? what happens there? what changes in tom? It's all supposed to work like gangbusters and fireworks and the movie itself musically swells and tries to sell it, but dramatically? it's all just. mush, to me. tirespinning.
to wit. tom-pete makes a massive, spider-man-sized sacrifice by the end, tragic and heroic all at once, earning him the responsibility mantle in spades; but I still don't get how he arrives at that decision other than just raw plot. because given the option, the peter parker we meet in the very beginning of this movie would make the exact same choice. he fantasized of a more convenient one and it was immediately bolstered and promised by strange, but honestly? if he hadn't? I don't know. feels like we'd have saved ourselves a movie.
and not seeing this young, fallible kid go through tangible, meaningful change is perhaps my biggest gripe with watts' trilogy. he's just always a lovable fuckup with a heart of gold. never disillusioned like pete b, never fully heartbroken like gwen, never paralyzed by fear like miles. never anywhere to grow from, except maybe sideways out of plot-inflicted emotional and physical tolls. he just needs someone to catch and hold off his killing blow long enough for him to collect himself and go back to being perfect.
assorted bulletpoints that don't fit in my semiotic ramble:
I kinda love how Ned is always this slinky toy of a character that conforms to whatever the story needs him to be. genuinely enamored with jacob's performance
opposite that, what an ongoing and massive waste of zendaya in these films. did she and may exchange more than a few words here? I forget
man willem dafoe really has some get up and go huh?? why'd he have to perform MMA on that poor teenager. loved seeing him have some genuine fun in this movie lmao
apropos of that. the something of a scientist myself line. I was in hysterics. fan service is only good if I like it, actually
hey and we all love tobey and seeing him is always a delight but knowing of garfield's aching connection with the character filled me with so much joy as I saw him play out some gratifying beats, while at the same time it made me scratch my head as to why he'd even want to do it like. in this, like this. eeh?
shittiest statue of liberty ever
stephen's winter coat/college hoodie/sweats/uggs look in concert with his impeccably groomed facial hair and the same-ass magic cloak he always wears
so the uhh biomechanical madman can sit in the kitchen, volatile electric dude and the literal sentient sandstorm can have the couch, guy who blew up a highway twenty minutes ago gets access to classified tech in the back room, dinosaur man stays in van
left unsatisfied with alex jones jameson's character arc despite lavish emotional potential
I know this is me shaking the gift horse down for lunch money but seeing like. other spiders, sillier spiders. would have been cool. even electro noticed the caucasity, c'mon
in the end they really went like. lovers-to-strangers coffeeshop au. insta-burn
I mean we all know that in the grand scheme of things the MCU loves resetting their characters to their baseline brand templates, but holy fuck they don't even wink atcha here
DANI ROJAS AS VENOM PLEASE. FUTBOL IS EATING PEOPLE

Mini Mimi Update!
Hello beautiful friends! Hope everyone is doing well ❤️
I'm just giving you all a mini update on a few things.
First up about my giveaway. I'm working hard to get working on them! Feel free to submit, there are still seven days left! It's just going a little slower than planned because of the recent heat rise.
Usually, when it's 80+ degrees, my room tends to get a little hotter than it should be and when that happens my computer gets really hot and I don't want my computer to break 🥲
So, I need help from my brother, who's already so busy, to put in an air conditioner in my room so that doesn't happen. But! I'll work real hard to work on your guy's gifts! 🥰
Second! Oc Intro poll winner!
It ended up being a tie again between two ocs, my Marvel boy, Victor Strange, and my Batman(2022) oc Maverick Pennyworth.
Now, when it comes to Victor🤔 I already have made an intro set for him(Twice) but I felt like I needed to do another revamp because I was inspired for him again after watching Multi-verse of Madness.
With that being said, the winner I decided will be my new angst boy Maverick Pennyworth since I haven't done anything for him yet!
So, @stanshollaand your boy is the winner and will have an intro set soon so you can know more 😌

Hi Annie, hope work is easing up. Would you ever consider writing a coda for HAHH? Or do you have any ideas left? That verse made me actually want to write a fanfic myself because of how good it was & how it stuck in my head for months after. Just love it. Know things are busy so please don't feel obliged, especially since I know you've answered several asks about this verse.
Hello! I wish work would ease up, too, really. 😒
About HAHH I really do feel like at this point I’ve answered as much about that ‘verse as I can (for now, anyway), plus I need to move on to my next Marvel Trumps Hate fic, but since you asked! And it’s absolutely delightful that that fic inspired you. 😘 So that got me thinking, and here’s a little thing:
Coda to Half Agony, Half Hope, Steve POV (also on ao3)
Sometimes Steve dreams that he came back to an Earth where Tony doesn’t exist.
Not that Tony died while Steve was away, but that he never existed at all. Years of Steve pretending that Tony doesn’t exist has, in dreams, manifested as a reality in and of itself – where in sleep Steve returns and finally opens the eye he’d kept shut for so long, only to find that there’s nothing to see. Tony… isn’t. No one knows him, there’s no evidence he ever was, and whenever Steve tries to describe Tony to someone, the words can’t come.
It’s a nightmare, of course. Steve had them sometimes while he was away, but they tended to be about close calls in battle; never about Tony. When he did dream of Tony, said dreams were pleasant, though the details of them hazy, and Steve normally woke up annoyed and aching for a missing limb.
So it’s funny, really, that Steve only started having nightmares about Tony after he came back to Earth and actually did see him again. In fact, that first nightmare hit the night after he read Tony’s redacted personnel file, with all its colorful details of Stane’s betrayal and the surgeries that saved Tony’s life. The details of that night’s dream are gone, but Steve remembers the feeling of helplessness, and of Tony turned nebulous and out of reach, like smoke between his fingers.
They’re together now, he and Tony.
Back together, though it’s not really a reprise of what they once had. They’re different people now, and though they have a better understanding of who the other person used to be, they now have the wonderful nitty gritty work ahead of them to learn who they are now, and what they can be in the future.
Steve is happy, and thankful beyond words for the second chance. Hence the strangeness of him having recurring dreams of Tony not existing. Once, twice, a third time—
The fourth, he snaps awake from it with a gasp. Tonight his throat feels thick, as though he’d been about to shout something. But whatever it was, it’s immediately forgotten, because Tony is right here with him. Tony, who is possibly most real person Steve will ever know, is halfway under the covers, and is speaking to him.
“Just a dream,” Tony’s saying quietly. One of his hands brushes Steve’s face, and Steve turns into the touch so eagerly that Tony immediately starts petting him. The slow strokes along Steve’s temple and hairline has Steve sighing, and the sound almost drowns out Tony’s murmurs of, “It’s okay, you’re safe.”
Steve is far from fully awake, so it takes him a moment to realize that Tony thinks he must’ve been dreaming of war and violence. He should correct him, but he’s too shaken, too tired, too relieved – so all he can do is cling onto Tony’s wrist in trying to reorient himself to the world where Tony is here, with him.
“There we go.” Tony pulls the covers up to Steve’s shoulders, which is a feat in itself considering that Steve’s clinging onto Tony’s hand. But Tony manages, and makes himself comfortable underneath said covers with Steve, tucking himself close enough that his feet tangle with Steve’s.
A kiss lands on Steve’s cheek, close to where Steve’s lips are still parted around steadying breaths. It feels wonderful at the first, but that’s followed by the sleep-disoriented thought that he shouldn’t be asking for comfort from Tony. It’s wrong, somehow, to demand such things from Tony when Steve’s been… something. He can’t grasp the fine logic of it, but a sense of unfairness – and of justice not yet served – permeates the whole thought.
Steve says none of this out loud, but distress must be visible on his face because Tony makes a sound that’s fond and soft, and amused, maybe? It’s not an unhappy sound, which is the main thing. Steve finds himself calming, and calms even more when Tony tucks his face by Steve’s chin. Tony’s fingers – the set that Steve isn’t clutching to his chest – rub soothing pressure at the back of Steve’s neck.
“Tony.” Steve’s tongue is sleep-thick. “Move in with me? Here?”
“I don’t always sleep late,” Tony replies.
“No, it’s.” Steve tries to open his eyes, but the effort to do so seems insurmountable. “Feels more like home when you’re here.”
In the pause that follows, dismay slowly seeps into Steve’s brain – a remnant of the nightmare, maybe. He’s rarely been able to do things by halves, and that includes bearing the sheer scope of emotion that Tony inspires in him. That’s not always a good thing – he’d asked Tony to marry him before either of them were ready, for example, and there’s a lesson in there that Steve’s still trying to learn. Sometimes courage is in not taking the daring wild leap out ahead, but bearing the smaller steps right in front of you.
But Tony says, “Okay. I’ll move in.” He has that voice, the pleased one he uses whenever he’s tricked something out of Steve. Not that there’s any trickery involved here tonight; just sleep-addled honesty. “We can talk about it in the morning.”
“Thank you.” Steve exhales, and his breath puffs against Tony’s hair, which tickles his chin. “I appreciate that you’re real.”
“Oh, okay,” Tony says with a laugh, “that is going to be some conversation tomorrow.”
