Do you think frost dad is any thing like king cold
Hmm, I can't say I have enough of the details from Frieza's end to make an apt comparison, but from what I've been gathering from his blog misgivings, I think his father at least gave more of a rat's ass about his children.
Take a scroll down my blog, you might spot some of my complaints~
#answers#anonymous#((most of the similarity between Cold and Shiver is their forms both being in second with Shiver's being shorter#he's the mafia side rather than royalty and prefers the more shady underhanded dealings compared to Cold being more upfront as a conqueror#Cold is more doting on his children albeit with less than wholesome intentions while Shiver is very hands off; Frost was an 'accident'#there's still involvement from Shiver behind the scenes in Frost's work but it's more managerial than anything#on account of his upbringing Frost is what Frieza would consider uncouth; exposed to more things like gambling drugs etc#and quite sultry for being a chronic virgin#the hero stint keeps him from completely corrupting into his father and he's ultimately raised more by his associates and PR))#((sorry for the mod tag ramble it got longer than I thought))#suggestive

Probably my favoritest trope is 'character whos part of a horrible organization but they love it there not 'despite' the atrocities, but because they owe it their life and they have genuine connections with other people from it'. I've done it twice and it's so, so, so much fun.
#champagne would be dead/in jail without the cipher pol and cherry would be dead without the cold/frieza force! isnt it fun#isnt it neat#its all ive ever known and if you took it from me itd be like ripping out one of my lungs#is this healthy? probably not. most likely not. but taking them out of that situation Right Now would be like impaling them#for a brief second theyd survive but it would be absolutely dreadful and it would not last#anyways !!!!!!! can u tell theyre my normalest ocs#except for orchard. orchard is in his own league of horrors#📡 incoming transmission 📡#oc: cherry#oc: champagne#also its not like their situation is a 1:1 comparison. champagne could probably have met different people and lead a better life#cherry however? cherry would have 100% fucking died

when SDBH shows warrior-in-black timeline future gohan raging helplessly over trunks's and bulma's corpses and then pans out to the androids watching in amusement, and you realize 17 and 18 decided to let him live. and you're like: "the future androids are so mean. i miss them."
#there is a certain type of villain that is just so fun to watch because they are clearly having such a good time being evil#you can rely on them for a second turn of the screw#frieza is imo still probably the best villain from z era but the future androids are just so charmingly awful#it's just: sure frieza can overpower and humiliate a hero. he can make a fight against him really personal#but can he insult their fit while doing it?

weird question. how do you feel about toriyama's art, and the use of his art style?
Artistically, if people take anything away from Toriyama's work, I want it to be his talent for conveying action through still panels.
I've read plenty of comics and manga where the action is honestly pretty hard to make sense of. Like taking still images of one of those jumpy thousand-cuts-per-minute modern Hollywood action scenes where the images are taken like fifteen seconds apart and there's no real sense of how anyone got to anywhere or where that punch is supposed to land.
By contrast, reading Dragon Ball is like watching an actual martial arts film. Toriyama's panel work was a big part of what made him such a great mangaka. It's very easy to follow Toriyama's action from panel to panel; To read the visual language of the fight.
Look how smooth that is. People don't think of Dragon Ball fights as clear, concise affairs where every punch has weight and every move counts. But that's exactly what the manga is. This was Toriyama's greatest asset as an artist.
Look at how the panels follow Frieza's right leg. He's stepping forward with his right leg. His right leg is in front of Goku's face. His right leg kicks Goku into the air. Then he sweeps with his right leg. And then the right leg connects.
That whole sequence follows Frieza's leg. It's what is going to be used to hit Goku and so the action tracks it from panel to panel. You always know where Frieza's right leg is.
And it's why the whole "Characters designed by Toriyama" thing never really meant as much as it was hyped to be. It doesn't matter if he drew a guy's hair Goku-style. What matters is this. When the fists start flying, is it going to be his action?
Or is it going to be something like this?
Did Goku push Vegeta? Did he shoot him? Because he was like ten feet away from the fighting when that maneuver was completed. And then he definitely took that hit to the back of the neck but I guess he was just playing pretend?
Did Son Goku just fake a knockout so he could land a cheap-shot sucker-punch on an adversary?
(This same fight also had Goku defeat Granolah's knack for targeting someone's vitals by suddenly being able to reposition all of his organs somehow, incidentally.)
11 pages of pure action just to convey that Goku and Moro are equally matched. By the end of this, the fight hasn't actually moved in any way.
Goku and Moro chitchat with each other across a beam struggle?
Just so Goku can brag that Toyotaro knows what the Zanzoken/Afterimage is.
By contrast, Toriyama's Beam Struggles look like this.
Intense, strenuous affairs which are clearly and visibly taking a toll on both participants, in which one party ultimately and significantly prevails over the other.
In Goku and Moro's struggle, neither of them really seems to be trying very hard. Goku and Moro are able to water-cooler chat across the beam somehow and then they both just stop caring and leave. It was a Continuity Moment so Goku could call out the Zanzoken but ultimately Goku's Kamehameha achieves nothing and the fight just carries on like it never happened.
Also there's a point where Moro telekinetically yanks Goku down out of the air and then, on the next page, Moro telekinetically yanks Goku down out of the air again. What's that about?
The double-punch panel to show that they're evenly matched is... I have no idea where Moro got the strength to suddenly do that when last we saw was him recoiling from being hit over and over? Moro suddenly gains Super Armor between pages so he can be back in control of a situation where they were not evenly matched and he was clearly on the back foot.
The art is really good and, visually, Toyotaro has a good bead on what these characters should look like. But not what they should move like. It's not Toriyama's action, and you can feel that difference.

I literally dont know how to continue explaining to people that part of the reason Goku decided to stay dead was because Gohan hated fighting.
He didnt know this until cell. He literally had no idea. Gohan NEVER gave any indication whatsoever. Couple that with the fact Bulma pointed out most of people threatening the Earth during that point in time were all people wanting Goku. The saiyans. Frieza. The androids. Doctor Gero. Cell.
All because of Goku. Its not his fault but his very existence consistently put the Earth in danger. He truly believed Earth would be safer without him and therefore, gohan wouldnt be consistently placed into battle.
Because Goku didnt know gohan hated fighting. But once he knew came the very interwoven nature of these threats he brought making his own son fight because gohan felt he HAD to. Not because he wanted to. For goku, protecting the earth always aligned with his own love for fighting. But gohan fought out of necessity, out of the very idea that they couldnt afford to do it without him. He has this power he didnt ask for so he must use it right? Because it would be selfish if he didnt.
But goku... goku thought gohan was like him. Gohan WANTED to return to help fight vegeta. He WANTED to go to namek. He WANTED to stay and fight after piccolo almost died to frieza. Goku didnt see gohan train that first year. Didnt witness what it took to make gohan a fighter. All he saw was his son who now was strong and wanted to join the fight like his dad. And he knows gohan is more powerful than them, knows he can stop cell, FELT IT. Gohan has to defeat cell because no one else can. So he thinks if gohan gets angry enough fighting cell, itll be the answer. Because thats how its always been for goku. And in thirty seconds piccolo makes him realize he's wrong. He doesnt argue back, he listens and concedes and realizes that piccolo is right. And suddenly goku wants to abandon his plan and stop the fight. He made a mistake. He intends to get gohan out. And in the end, he still ended up being right, but it doesnt change what goku now knows. Gohan isnt like him and he doesnt enjoy fighting.
Goku would have NEVER made gohan fight if he thought he didnt want to. You know this whenever adult gohan gets involved in a fight and goku apologizes that he had to. Or when someone suggests gohan for a battle and goku is like nah he's "out of practice," even when they have time FOR PRACTICE. He never wants to force gohan into a situation like cell again. Because cell was a mistake and goku has learned from it. So he never asks Gohan to fight anymore. If Gohan wants in then of course he's in. But he wants his son to be able to choose that. He wants gohan to be HAPPY and if thats not fighting then thats perfectly alright with goku.

So it wasnt just about keeping the earth safe. Or his friends. It was knowing that in the safety of gokus absence, gohan wouldnt have to fight either. There would be less threats, less chances of his son being forced into battle. And sure he also trusted that gohan and the others could keep the earth safe if they had to, but he was banking on the threat level significantly decreasing instead.
And decrease it did. They had seven whole years of peace. Not a single threat. Meanwhile from the moment Raditz shows up to gokus death to cell, it all takes place within the span of FIVE YEARS. The longest they went without a threat was the three year gap spent training for the androids. And they spent every waking moment knowing they were coming.
And then if you look at trunks future... majority of the human population being wiped out by the androids. Majority of gokus friends. His son. All dead. Because of him. Because he defeated the red ribbon army when he was a child. And that very easily could have been their future as well. So Goku does his job in preventing that. He saves all of them. And if hes the only one who ends up dead, well... it doesnt matter. Because they aren't. And he intends to keep it that way. So he stays in otherworld, to keep them safe and to give his son a future that he can choose. If Gohan has to fight, then he can. But at least his father wouldnt be the one bringing the threats to his door.
#goku has depth#and im tired of arguing this point#LOOK DEEPER FOR TWO SECONDS PLEASE#Gokus reaction to finding out gohan doesnt like to fight#his sacrifice#and his decision after#im tired of people acting all the time like goku would have wanted to remain dead and therefore never see his wife or son or friends again#hes content in the knowledge that this is the best decision FOR THEM#he makes that decision#for them#not for himself#goku#dragon ball#son goku#goku is a good dad#dragon ball z#dragon ball z kai#gohan#son gohan#goku and gohan#dragon ball rant#my rant#dragon ball super#dbz#dbs#cell saga#android saga#saiyan saga#frieza saga#kakarot

Hi how are you doing could I request Dbz cooler,Frieza, and cell with an s/o who sacrifice their life for them after pushing them out the way the last minute when they were about to be killed
Ooooh angst, we love to see it <3
It takes him a second to realize what just happened, how ANYONE could push him
Then it hits him all at once
His unbridled rage is an indomitable force to be reckoned with
Though he doesn't know how to heal with his ki as well as some of his crew, it doesn't stop him trying after whatever/whoever killed you has been dealt with
In his bargaining and anger, he goes after anyone and everyone who was on planet at the time
He blames himself more than anything as your blood stains his armor
He knows he was too cocky and that's why you shoved him out of the way of death, taking his place
Though he refuses to let things end so simply, even if he has to literally build you as an android... he will
His anger turns inward until he gets you back, though not without a(n un)healthy dose of lashing out at his crew
And whatever planet, whoever was around (or unable to make it to the ship in time) was completely obliterated before leaving the area
He doesn't know what to think at first, it's unfathomable for anything to fully kill him so why would he ever need to dodge or be saved in the first place
So why would you think that way and put yourself in needless danger?
His disbelief and anger have nowhere to go, blaming himself, blaming you, blaming his enemy
There is just this numb, emptiness that he can't process as he mindlessly fires off ki blasts all around
The only thing he can do is preserve whatever is left of you, possibly to recreate you as an android akin to 16, 17, and 18
But until then he just keeps your remains safe and tucked away from anyone and everyone as he figures out what to do next

Like Frieza and Vegeta’s relationship was absolutely abusive and exploitative from start to finish but I think people write it wrong. Well not wrong, just in a way that I personally believe removes the deeper horror in favor of an easy depiction of what a relationship like that looks like. He’s not getting strung up and whipped or locked in a cell to cry, he’s getting his chin scratched by a person who uprooted him from everything he had ever known on a whim and destroyed the culture upon which he founded his most nascent sense of identity. And that person is only keeping him alive because despite it all, he’s useful, and kind of cute, especially now that all the other Saiyans are dead. Vegeta’s a small child being made to commit atrocities for profit an amusing little novelty, still using the honorifics & regurgitating the legends of a planet that’s been obliterated. DBS is not a perfect sequel by any means but it did this part so, so well. “All hail Vegeta, prince of no one.” “I always thought you shined the brightest when you were serving as my pet.”
Sickening, yes? And the intimacy is the worst part, the realization that Frieza seems to favor him; seems to like him. Who knows, maybe Vegeta reminded him of himself at some ancient, half-forgotten stage of life. King Cold did drop him like a hot potato as soon as he was proven weaker than Trunks. Maybe that’s the whole reason he made King Vegeta give up his kid in the first place. Frieza’s relationship with his father is shallow and dependent entirely on his value as a soldier, the underlying cruelty of which they’ve both silently agreed to use superfluous affection to cover up? Fine. He’s gonna make the Saiyan king give up his own militarized child prince. He’s gonna strip away the cultural justifications for what he’s doing to his son by making him treat it like the cold, spineless profiteering that it always was. He’s gonna rub it in.
But hey, he’s not mad at the kid. It was his dad who got too big for the barrel. Vegeta is still serving his purpose, Vegeta is still being good. Why wouldn’t Frieza treat him in accordance with his “station,” even after it’s been rendered an empty title because of him. All he has to do is keep spinning the wheel on the Cold Empire, vomiting out violence into the endless vacuum of space & never getting too uppity about his dead father or dead planet or about the fact that, even when reduced to the most baseline level of childish narcissism, the state which this arrangement has emotionally stunted him into maintaining well into adulthood, he never actually wanted any of this. He didn’t want to leave Planet Vegeta! He didn’t want to grow up surrounded by strangers! He didn’t want to have no claim over anything he ever achieved! He wanted to work for himself! It wasn’t his choice!!! For all of Vegeta’s dickswinging and hierarchy and “pride,” he is so, so helpless, “like a tiny insect glowing in a jar,” as Frieza so helpfully summarized for us. Overcorrection layered on overcorrection layered on overcorrection layered on desperate, screeching fear and sadness and shame. Blow up a planet. Nuke a city. Wipe out a village. Fix It Again, Tony.
And that viciously indulgent cruelty that Vegeta used to comfort himself as he grew into a man is only emphasized by how blasé Frieza appears to be about the whole thing. He’s calm. He’s secure. He spends half the arc sitting down, just watching. He’s what Vegeta was in the first part of the Saiyan saga, and he slowly turns into what Vegeta slowly turned into in the second part of the Saiyan saga. An addled, wounded, unthinking mess, trying to put their self image back together as someone else’s superior ability causes it to crumble. Frieza was scared of the super saiyan. Under all that collected ambivalence, that whole time, he was scared.
Vegeta is Frieza’s heir. As gross as that incongruent, unwanted warmth is to witness, Frieza succeeded in establishing influence over & connection between himself and the child he orphaned. And the process of healing from that relationship involves Vegeta going back to square one and having to acquiesce to another foreign, combat oriented culture populated by vaguely hostile strangers. He gets new clothes. He gets a new place to train. He gets new tasks to perform. He gets called cute.
Like. It’s not physical torture, at least not as we usually imagine it. It’s this slow poisoning of a person’s ability to trust and connect with others, a process which is gussied up by regular assertions of fondness, so casual & consistent that you have to actively remind yourself that the guy who’s doing it sees Vegeta as a literal subhuman, and is only being good to him the way you’d be good to a valued piece of property. He tortured him to death, but he still thinks he was a good pet. Vegeta’s life was Frieza’s to end, but his feats of wanton destruction were also his to be proud of.
That’s the whole reason why Vegeta’s character development was slow, ugly and recidivist. Because it was his knowledge of how to grow, of how to exist any other way, that Frieza intentionally eroded for his own selfish, petty gain. And for a relationship between a man with a monkey tail and his pink-skinned alien overlord, the most uncomfortable part about the dynamic is that it’s realistic. Common, even.

Will | Vegeta x Reader |
author's note: this is for the always lovely @miss-taura! i hope you're starting to feel better, or that you start getting better quickly!! rest and hydrate 🩷
pairing: vegeta x fem!reader
warnings: saiyan!reader, illness, mentions of death, mentions of frieza doing frieza things
Anxiety clings to Vegeta's stomach as he marches to your room on the Frieza station— you weren't at dinner tonight. It's unlike you, unlike any Saiyan warrior, and worry nags the Prince to his bones.
Of the Saiyans left, you're certainly his favorite. The bar is low, with your competition being Nappa and the Radish-boy, but you're still quite the cut above them. And your lack of presence is irritating, rude, and above all worth a princely tantrum.
Pounding on your door, his patience is too worn thin to properly wait for an answer. You haven't responded with the half second between his harsh knocks, so obviously he's got every single right to invite himself in. It's dark but his scouter clearly marks your exact position in your bed, and he hears your soft groan as the light from the hall floods in.
"What the hell, 'Geets?" Congestion plagues your sinuses, and a fever leaves you with harsh shivers as you glare at Vegeta with blurry eyes.
Vegeta scoffs and narrows his eyes as he steps further in, kicking the door shut behind him. "More like what the hell is up with you. You skipped dinner."
You cough into your shirt, flopping down pathetically onto your pillow. "I'm not hungry."
"A Saiyan is always hungry." Vegeta's arms cross over his broad chest as he tilts his head— he's not sure if he's ever seen you sick, or anybody else on this ship, for that matter.
A cold trickle of fear suddenly drips down his spine; Frieza certainly would find no use in nursing any of his army back to health, and absolutely wouldn't tolerate a particular bug spreading amongst the force.
He can't lose you like this.
Too tired to argue with him, you wave a hand in Vegeta's general direction. "Leave me be, 'Geets."
Vegeta nearly growls— you're far too uncaring. Do you have a death wish? He storms out of the room and you're far too ill to wonder what's gotten into him before another terrible coughing fit assaults you again.
Your consciousness fades in and out, though the next time you come to for longer than mere seconds, it's at Vegeta's shaking of your shoulder. His touch isn't particularly gentle, the rare occurrence never really is, but you can feel his effort of holding back. "Mmm…?"
"Sit up and eat, and take this too." A platter from the dining hall sits on the nightstand beside your bed, and a small caplet is flicked your way.
"Where did you find medicine?" Throat scratchy and burning at even breathing, a soft cough follows your question.
"It matters not. Just use it."
So he broke an international law somewhere, got it.
Your legs rub together unconsciously, begging the resulting friction for warmth. A Saiyan rarely feels so chilled, but it's as if you're iced to your very bones. Vegeta's jaw ticks and he doesn't put much thought into the why before he's stripped off a glove and pressed the back of his rarely-revealed hand against your forehead. His memories of his mother are frighteningly fading, but that is one of the few that holds strong and he can clearly remember of his late mother. He was young and felt awful for perhaps the first time in his life, and her gentle hand measuring his fever did wonders as a cure compared to all the bedrest and tonics.
Your watery eyes meet with Vegeta's as he moves to touch each cheek, his knuckles dragging along your skin and bumping over your nose. Eyes guarded, he turns his head and pulls back his palm. "You're running a fever. Eat now, and take the medicine. You're to be cured by tomorrow, understand?"
This motherfucker is giving my illness orders!
Opting for a dumb nod, your attention focuses on what he's brought you. Nothing too capable of potentially upsetting your stomach, it's easy to devour even with your fatigue crawling back by the second and the shivering from your fever slowly icing you more and more. You can hardly even notice Vegeta's too-quiet demeanor as he stares a hole into the carpeted floor, though to not see such a stoic side of the rather bratty, barbarous man that typically wears a smile of evil would be impossible.
"Done." Voice hardly capable of more than a whisper now, you set the plate aside and, large pill laid out on your tongue, finish off the first of the gallons of water he's thoughtfully provided you.
"Rest." His order is swift and gruff as he turns to leave, but your voice, quiet and unsure, calls for him to linger just a bit longer.
"T-Thank you, V-Vegeta." The tremors of your body are harsh enough to make your teeth audibly clash together, and the thin blanket wrapped around you couldn't possibly be enough to dispel this fever.
Breaking the fever will allow the medicine to work, and a little sigh pulls from his lips. You certainly always manage to break down a barrier he places, and usually it's fully unintentional and unknowing. But he cannot lose the last woman in his life, the last of the Saiyan race, and that's what has him stripping to his underwear and climbing into bed with you.
"'Geets…"
"Speak not a word further. Rest." He grumbles and unravels your wrapped form, inserting himself under the blanket with you. The heat radiating from him nearly makes your head spin as you grab the Prince's body despite how unbecoming this all is. The touch of his body isn't exactly foreign, though it certainly is in the manner of comfort rather than the training you've always known.
Vegeta's hold is tight. It's his duty as your Prince to keep you alive, though the warming of his cheeks when he gets a glimpse of your sleeping face suggests to himself it may not be as noble as he wishes.

➸ Bad Blood; Dragon Ball × Saiyan! S/O
Characters: Frieza A/N: Reader's Outfit and Veil. This took me so gosh darn long to do. I might do a second part, not sure though. Just enjoy for now! ➥ Summary: After the betrayal of your brother, Vegeta, you dedicated your life to serving your lord. And once he was brought back years later, nobody expected the reunion's ending.
╔══════════════════════════════════════════╗
╚═════ Frieza ════════════════════════════════╝
🏔️ You and your squad had done it. You demolished another planet in the name of King Cold and the Saiyan race. As the rest of your team stood a ways away from you, you looked down at where the inhabitants of the world once were
🏔️ Their homes were nothing but dust and ash from your deadly ki blasts. And honestly. You felt nothing but pleasure from the destruction of the people. Was it horrible? Yes. Did you care? No.
🏔️ This was something you were raised to do without any faults, so your emotional range on this was low. It was like whenever a scammer were to trick someone. It was in their nature, their blood
"Princess Y/N, it's about your father."
🏔️ Looking back, you saw one of the Saiyans looking at you. His fingers were still placed on their scouter as they listened in. He ran up to you and panted worriedly
"What is it?" You asked.
"The Frieza Force notified us that a meteor collided with Planet Vegeta. The... world has been destroyed. There are no survivors."
🏔️ You hummed, looking back at the destruction. Of course, you were upset that your planet was destroyed. But, why in the name of King Cold did your people not try stopping it? Honestly, the Saiyans could be quite simple-minded
"Princess Y/N, what should we do?" The low-class warrior asked.
"What a foolish question." You criticized. "Contact with the Frieza Force's central unit. Tell them that we are on our way to their coordinates to speak with Lord Frieza himself. Do not take no for an answer. Unless you want to be as dead as these beings."
"Y-yes, Princess."
🏔️ You scoffed and walked away, the warrior following you as you called for the rest of your group to head back to the ship and leave this planet to dust. They all followed you as you walked inside the device and sat at the chair, bellowing orders for them to follow to get back
"Princess. If you don't mind me asking. What are you going to speak to Lord Frieza about?" Another Saiyan asked.
"That is for me to know and you to not." You answered coldly.
"Yes, ma'am."
══✿══╡
🏔️ Handing the controls over to your bodyguard, you stepped on the edge of the ship's exit. You groaned and pushed the two warriors out, beckoning the one young female to hold your hand and fly down
🏔️ She smiled as you both landed, keeping her grip on your hand as you walked down the hallways and towards Frieza's throne room. The other warriors ended up leaving to check on any injuries they got from the battle, and you handed the young one to one of your other allies
"If I find a cut on her that I have not seen yet, I shall have your head. Understood?"
"Yes, Princess."
🏔️ Rolling your eyes and knocking on the door, you could hear the few leaders of the Force inside. You then heard Frieza yell for whomever it was to come in
🏔️ You did as he ordered. Opening the door and closing it behind you, you looked up at the Emperor as he turned his chair around. He looked down at you and smirked. It was obvious he knew what you were here for
"Kikono, Berryblue, you may leave us."
🏔️ Berryblue and Kikono looked at their leader and nodded. Kikono looked visibly nervous while Berryblue was far more content, even carrying her normal, calming smile. As they walked past you, you nodded, making Kikono do the same and Berryblue to smile gentler at you
🏔️ Despite your race being held for your aggressiveness and tendency to not think, you were the opposite. You thought before you acted, and while, yes, you had moments of rage, these were few and far between unlike your fellow Saiyans
"Now, Y/N. I suppose you're hear to hear the rest of the details on your planet."
"On the contrary, my Lord. I would like to know where my younger brother, Vegeta, is located. If that is alright for you."
🏔️ Frieza's eyes slightly widened. He expected you to be dedicated to knowing every detail on how your planet died and what exactly caused it. So, hearing you push everyone else aside for that little brat you called your brother surprised him slightly
"He is on his way. Apparently, his group decided to not follow my orders."
"The arrogance my younger brother carries surpasses my father's, no doubt. I'm sure he has a respectable reasoning for this, Lord Frieza."
"He better. Is there anything else you would like to be informed in?" He questioned.
"No. That was all I needed. Thank you, my Lord."
"It is of no problem, Princess Y/N. You may leave."
"Have a good rest of your day, Lord Frieza."
"...You as well."
══✿══╡ Years Later...
🏔️ It was over fifteen years later that you came back into contact with Vegeta. He had done a lot of things in the matter of those years. He had not only betrayed the Frieza Force, but he had even gone as far as to attempt to kill Frieza. How despicable
🏔️ While Vegeta's attempts were futile, another Saiyan survivor, Son Goku, had managed to kill him. You were still on his ship when it happened, and hearing the news of the Ginyu Force being destroyed was enough to overhwhelm your thoughts, but Vegeta and Frieza dying just made you snap
🏔️ As Frieza was deceased, you helped rule the Frieza Force. You were his most-trusted member of the Force, and he seemed to like being around you, so everyone voted you in to be their leader until they managed to find a way for Frieza to return
🏔️ You held this position for a long time, nearly fourteen years, until you were notified by Sorbet that they managed to get Frieza's soul back with some body parts and he was currently being fully-regenerated in the Medical Machine a few halls away
🏔️ Nodding and telling him to call you once he was fully-healed, you got back to your work. Managing this Force was hard, you wondered how Frieza managed to handle it all by himself when he was so young. At least, for his species
🏔️ Sorbet eventually came back, he told you Frieza was nearly done and asked if you wanted to be there when it was time to let him back out. You just waved him off and said you'd be there soon, you needed to finish some paperwork first
🏔️ He nodded and walked back to where the Medical Machine was while you worked. It was after you organized the files back the way Frieza liked it, and had it, all those years ago. Thankfully, your memory was one of the best in the Universe
🏔️ You grabbed your veil and propped it onto your head. Standing up and walking away, you saw the once-young Saiyan female you raised and smiled at her. She did so back and skipped off to give some paperwork you signed earlier to a pod for another planet's royalty to look over
🏔️ It was when you were just up the hall that you heard the voices of Sorbet and... Frieza. How remarkable. The machine did work
🏔️ Chuckling as you finally met the doorway, you tapped in the code and allowed it to open. This sound alerted the attention of all in the room. Specifically, Sorbet and your previous leader
"Well, well. My Lord, you have been revived. Impressive work, Sorbet." You said.
🏔️ Frieza's eyes slightly widened at the sight of you. When he last saw you, you had the normal messy hair that any Saiyan would have. Now, you had longer, well-kept hair. You also wore skin-tight battle-armor. It had two gems on the hands that shined in the light where you stepped
🏔️ He looked at you up and down and cocked his 'eyebrow' before asking
"Princess Y/N of the Saiyans? Is that you?"
"You would be correct, Lord Frieza. I'm truly surprised you recognized me after such a lengthy time away."
"Well, it is hard to not remember a monkey."
🏔️ You chuckled, not taking any offense. Your tail lightly swayed before wrapping around your waist to relax. Frieza's merely swung around like there was nobody around, almost matching your own's actions to the dot
"I suppose that is true, my Lord."
"Hm. I also seem to remember your honesty, Y/N. Do tell, who has been leading the Frieza Force since my unfortunate departure?" He asked.
"That would be a partnership of myself and Commander Sorbet. He and some men have been handling the technological advancements of the Force. I, in the meanwhile, have been leading the conflicts and any kind of fights that have erupted. With this duet, the Force had grown slightly. Though, we have lost some men. Mostly ones from your days of leading."
🏔️ Frieza hummed again, walking up to you. He then looked into your eyes, his narrowing slightly to make you flinch. You just smiled down at him, making him back off, knowing you were being fully honest with him. Looking back at Sorbet, he nodded, making him slightly calm down
"Now, Y/N. You have been working as a little informant since your first days of being in the Force. So, do tell, has the Saiyan Goku grown as strong as Sorbet has said?"
"Yes, he has. But, so have the rest of the Z Fighters. Even Vegeta has grown stronger. Last I knew, he was training to become a Super Saiyan. It is highly possible that he has met that and surpassed that transformation, much like Goku."
"Vegeta? Oh, yes, your younger brother. I wonder how he reacted to you staying with the Force."
"He was far from amused, my Lord. But, who is?" You joked.
"Well, then they have grown to be mightier than I have dared to dream. This could be most salubrious for me."
🏔️ You could hear Sorbet make a noise of confusion from behind the Emperor, and you just kept your calm expression as he questioned him
"I'm not sure I know that word, sir." He said.
🏔️ Frieza gritted his teeth slightly and frowned. This man was starting to get on his nerves
"If I may explain, my Lord." Frieza nodded after you finished your question and you looked back at the shorter male and answered him.
"It means being beneficial to someone's health and well-being, Commander."
"Yes. And what could be more salubrious for a conqueror than the motivation to become so strong he's never dethroned again?"
"Uhm, as you say, my Lord." Sorbet replied nervously.
🏔️ You then noticed Frieza rise into the air, an energy-made aura appearing around him. It glowed a purple-pink, which made your eyes shine in admiration. He was strong, stronger than anyone you had ever met in your life. And you know what they say about Saiyans; they like strong people
"I've never trained a day in my life. There was never a need. Imagine what could happen if unlock my latent potential."
"Hold on! You mean, you could get stronger? Stronger than your final form?!"
'Well, of course he can, Sorbet. This is our Lord Frieza we're speaking of."
"Exactly. Now shut your gaping mouth so I can concentrate. If I train in earnest for the next four months... yes. I could reach a power level of 1.3 million!"
🏔️ The energy flowed off of Frieza in massive waves. And while the others all cowered in fear from him, you stood and smiled. It was as if you were at one of those Earthly art museum things that you heard one speak of. Frieza was the art and you were the person attempting to interpret everything about him. From his strength to the way he spoke so beautifully despite his flaws. Oh, how you missed your tyrannical love

The Princess of all Saiyans
-
Masterlist
-
Hey, hey! I'm back yet again for the first time in 2025. College has been kicking my ass, so I'm happy to finally get something out. It's a bit shorter than normal, but this is the last chapter that will be following an episode outline for a bit. I'm excited to get into some less action-packed and more random plot points. As always, DM's/Comments are always open if you have any comments, questions, or concerns. I'd also like to thank everyone for the constant support, especially considering my very sporadic and streaky updates.

Chapter 18
-
Your eyes flutter open, slowly adjusting to the gleaming light. "Ugh." You groan, your hands running through your hair. God, your head is throbbing. This is worse than a hangover. You're sprawled out across the crown of a large oak tree, leaves and sticks tangled within your hair.
Your gaze shifts around, taking in your surroundings. So this is what hell looks like. There's far less fire than you assumed. Now that you think about it, this terrain is remarkably similar to Earth. Checks out; it was quite a dreadful planet.
You start to pick the intrusions out of your hair, tossing them onto the ground beneath you. Every flick of your wrist is accompanied by this atypical groaning sound. You crane your neck downwards, searching for the source of the noise. "Can you stop throwing shit at me!" A familiar, brash voice calls out from underneath you.
You finally catch a glimpse of the large figure, your lips curving upwards at the sight. "I never thought I'd be happy to see your ugly face." You snicker at the man, who's now pulling the sticks you threw out of his own unmanageable hair. You jump down from the tree, landing right in front of Raditz. "You look good for a dead man."
"Hardy Har," the man scoffs. I never wanted to come back to this planet. My brief stint in hell was far more pleasurable." Wait a second... you're alive? This is actually Earth. You thought planet Namek took you out with it, but that seems to not be the case. So, how the hell did you end up here?
"Oh really?" The corners of your lips curve upwards, flashing him a teasing smile. "It's not your life's dream to become one with the earthlings? You could even become one of their domesticated pets like Kakarot."
Raditz looks down at you, his lips resting in a thin line. "If anything of the sort becomes my lifestyle. I want you to kill me."
"I'll hold you to that," You look around the terrain, not quite having enough energy left to sniff out anyone's power levels. "I wonder where Vegeta spawned."
"Desiring a reunion with your darling brother already?"
"Oh fuck off, Raditz." You flip him off before strutting off in a random direction, forcing the taller man to practically chase after you. You're far too weak to use any sort of energy-sensing technique, so you're going off pure instinct.
You arrive at a small clearing, spotting a significant number of Namekians. It's dreadful. Just moments ago, they were eradicated, and now there are countless. They're all crowding around the Earth woman in a circle. Amongst the group, you also spot Gohan. He isn't exactly hard to miss. The kid sticks out like a sore thumb in the sea of green. You scan the crowd, trying to figure out what's happening. Within, you spot an open flame. So they're committing arson now? Cause that's something you can get behind. Bulma grins wide. "The leaves are burning, guys. This is a good sign." Huh? You knew this woman was off her rocker before. But this is a whole new level.
Raditz leans down, his voice a low whisper. "It seems like they're performing a cult-like ritual. Must be native to their people." You've witnessed many strange customs throughout your years. This one may just take the cake.
"This is good news. Goku must be coming home soon," Bulma exclaims. You furrow your brows, your forehead creasing. What the hell is she going on about now?
You scoff loudly. "Please, Frieza slaughtered Kakarot. He probably used his bones as toothpicks." You turn to Raditz, your features softening slightly. "Sorry."
The group still somehow hasn't noticed either of you, and Raditz isn't exactly hard to miss. Talk about being unaware of your surroundings. "The leaves never lie, you know." The Earth woman is far too cheery for your liking. How can burning a few leaves give any sort of data? It must be some human superstition. With a flick of your tail, you extinguish the small flame. Your eyes twinkle with mischief as panic begins to arise. There's just something about mass hysteria that you find so endearing. You're an agent of chaos, after all.
"That wasn't very nice." Raditz chuckles.
"I'm not nice, Raditz." You smirk. "You should know this by now." You look around the clearing, spotting Vegeta out of the corner of your eye. He's leaning against a tree, his typical brooding expression plastered across his face. He's seen you. He knows you're here, and yet he hasn't approached you. Something's not right here.
You and Raditz continue to fly under the radar, maintaining a comfortable distance from the group. You watch as two of the Namekian children play. One hangs from a large branch, playfully teasing the other about how they're too short to reach. This encounter fills you with a strange sense of familiarity. Reminding you about one of the few fond moments of your childhood.
20 something years ago
You sprint down the hill, running with all your might. With every step you take, the distance between you and Tarble increases immensely. You've always been the speedy one. With your father and Vegeta off-planet, it's one of those rare moments of leisure where you get to play. And it's not the typical roughhousing your people are accustomed to. It's plain old, joyful fun.
Your brother starts to gain traction as the gap between you grows smaller. Your hair blows in the wind, and your laughter bounces as you descend the hill. Your breaths grow shorter as you begin to tire yourself out. You need to think fast. Tarble has always been a rule follower, while you've been far from that. You search the terrain, finding a large tree. You race over to the tree, gripping one of the branches, swinging yourself up. You now stand on the branch, smiling triumphantly at the boy below you. He stops in front of the tree, panting. "Oh, come on!" Your twin pouts. "That's not fair!" He's not wrong, but you've never liked to play fair.
"Life's not fair, Tarbie." You cackle.
"Father told you to stop calling me that!"
"Just cause he said it doesn't mean I'll listen." You scoff. "I'm not, Vegeta."
"You know I can't get up there myself." The boy huffs. He's not wrong. You stand at least a foot taller than him, and you're not particularly tall among your people, either.
"Well, maybe next time then, runt." You smirk, your eyes gleaming with mischief.
Tarble rolls his eyes, ignoring your teasing. "Seriously, be careful up there. It's dangerous." He's always been cautious, especially compared to your recklessness. He's the yin to your yang.
"I'm fine! It's just a stupid tree. I'm barely off the ground- woah!" Once again, you spoke too soon. You lose your footing, falling off the branch. You shut your eyes and brace yourself for a fall, yet it never came. You slowly open your eyes, seeing Tarble. Despite his smaller size, he managed to catch you. As if seeing your fall activated some sort of natural instinct in him.
Raditz nudges your shoulder, bringing you back to reality. "You're zoning out again."
"Well, excuse me." You scoff. "It's been a pretty long day." Suddenly, two Namekians rush over to the large group, calling the names of another. The pair mention that they can't find any Namekians from a specific village. Oh, well, that's not good. You don't care for their well-being; every single Namekian could drop dead on this planet for all you care. You're pretty sure you know why they can't find them. Raditz eyes you skeptically, being able to read you like an open book.
"I have an answer for that." A gruff voice speaks up from the distance. You immediately recognize it as Vegeta's. Well, looks like he's gonna spill the beans. "That wish was too specific. Most of you did fall to Frieza or one of his bruisers. However, at least one of your villages fell, thanks to my sister and me. He gestures to you while laughing. Well, now they're all aware of your presence. "Well, she wasn't much help. Bailed on me right after the first Namekian fell. There was no loyalty, which proves you can't trust anyone." Is it just you, or does Vegeta seem even more hostile than usual?
As your brother goes off on his tangent, the large Namekian dragon balls fall from the sky, turning into stone. That can only mean one thing. That elderly Namekian died for the second time. You turn over, watching the grand elder fade into nothing. There are a lot of tears from Namekians and humans alike. You don't get it. He was both old and had already died once. They got the chance to say goodbye. They should be thankful. That's not a luxury many have.
You tune out the entire scene before you, that is until the small Namekian makes a comment that makes your ears perk up. He claims that the Namekian Dragon Balls had no limitations for how many times someone can be resurrected. That is, as long as they didn't die from natural causes.
"Wait," Gohan exclaims, grabbing Dende's shoulders. "That means once those Dragon Balls recharge, we can bring back anyone. No matter how many times they died?" Dende nods. "This is the best news I've ever heard."
This is the worst news you've ever heard. Unlimited resurrections. It'll be like having a bunch of ants. Making them next to impossible to exterminate. This is gonna be a massive thorn in your side. Those humans will just keep popping back up like a game of whack-a-mole.
You notice the Earth woman start speaking to herself as if she is holding a conversation with someone. And she keeps mentioning Yamcha. Maybe she's really lost her mind this time. All that Namek drama must have done some damage to what was left of her psyche. "Hey guys, great news! Yamcha just told me that Goku took down Frieza for good!" You find that hard to believe. Saint Kakarot not sparing a life? Practically unheard of. Also, how are you the only one who finds it mildly concerning that she's speaking to her deceased boyfriend?
"Really?" Gohan cocks his head. "Are you serious?" Gohan pumps his fist into the air, cheering loudly. You watch as both Gohan and Dende spin in circles, Gohan chanting about how his father is some sort of hero. They must use that term loosely here. You turn and see your brother seething. You guess every awful situation has a silver lining. Cause that look on Vegeta's face is priceless.
Bulma pauses as if she's listening to something. "Oh hey, get a load of this. Apparently, Goku couldn't get his way off Namek before the whole shebang went off." And now she's laughing. This woman is unhinged. "Well, I know something you don't know. The Namekians came back with us to Earth with their Dragon Balls. And that's not even the best part. They work differently. These ones can bring back anyone, no matter how many times they've died. So Goku, Krilin, and Chatsu all get the same first-class ticket back to Earth, just like you guys." Is she rubbing this in his face? You can't help but feel that there's something off about this. It all seems too perfect. And in your experience, if something appears too good to be true, it likely is.
You rack your brain for any possible inconsistencies, using your observations and prior knowledge of wish orbs to your advantage. Back on Namek, when you wished for Piccolo's resurrection, he didn't just appear on Namek. You had to make a second wish to teleport him there, and even that wasn't done entirely correctly. Since the Namekian died on Earth, that's where he respawned.
"Oh, uh…" Bulma appears to be dazed. "Looks like I may have spoken too soon."
"Why?" Gohan looks confused. "Why can't Dad be brought back like everyone else?"
It's become clear to you why. "Cause there's no planet Namek." You speak up, everyone looking at you in shock. "If you were to wish for either Kakarot or the bald one back. They'd just spawn in space and die from lack of oxygen. Or their heads would pop like balloons."
"Oh, come on," Vegeta smirks. "Use your heads for once. The answer is simple. Firstly, ask for their souls to be brought to Earth. And then resurrect them. It should work, at least in theory."
"Of course, why didn't I think of that?" Bulma's eyes light up. "That's a brilliant idea, Vegeta."
"Wow, Geta. You're so helpful to their cause. A real team player." You mock.
"You shut your damn mouth." He points a finger at you. "I am not speaking to you!"
"It sure looks like you're speaking to me now." As the two of you bicker, Gohan flies over to your brother, standing right before him.
"You really do care." The boy grins, extending his hand outwards to the grump. Vegeta simply slaps his hand away.
"Please," You huff. "Vegeta doesn't give a damn. He just wants to slaughter Kakarot for himself. That's who my brother is, after all. Always wants the glory."
Vegeta's eyes narrow into slits, a low growl emulating from him. "What did I say about shutting your damn mouth!"
You hold up both of your hands. "What crawled up your ass?"
"Betrayal! That's what!" Vegeta sneers. "You're a liar. And now that I know, you are no longer to be trusted!"
"Excuse me?"
"You surpassed me!" He shouts. "And you hid it, not for days, not for months. But for years! I look like a damn fool!"
"That's just your face! You always look like a fool! And you're so right. I should've told you the truth cause you just handled it so well!" All eyes are on both of you now, the face-off that was years in the making. "I had to protect your ginormous fucking ego. I mean, just imagine your reaction. If it's this awful now, just picture how much worse it would've been decades ago!"
"That's not the point." He storms over to you. "You lied, time and time again. You've broken my trust!"
"I don't know what you want from me!" You throw your hands up into the air. "Nothing I do is ever good enough for you, Vegeta! You've always said I need to be more aware. That I must meticulously plan my every move to be ten steps ahead of my opponent. And that's exactly what I did!" You stand your ground, a rare sighting of tears stinging your vision. "For once, I did everything you said; I followed your every damn order to a tee. And yet, it's still not enough! I can never please you!" Despite how often you disregard Vegeta's words. There's
one thing you've always longed for, Vegeta's approval. Something that seems so far out of reach no matter what you do or how hard you try.
"Stop with the crocodile tears." The world around you has grown quiet. No one else dares to utter a word. "This is just like you. Always taking on a pet project. First Tarble, then Raditz, and now Kakarot. What's next? Are you gonna adopt a pet human?"
"Don't you dare utter his name." Your eyes flash with anger, getting right in your brother's face.
"Tar-ble," He extends his enunciation, a smirk slowly spreading across his lips. He knows exactly where to hit and how to cut deep.
"Enough!" Raditz's outburst stuns you both to silence. "For once in your life, Vegeta shut your mouth!" Raditz has never spoken to Vegeta like that, not once. "You've always yelled at her to be more responsible. To plan before she acts. And that's what she did! How can you be angry at her for just doing what you've always said? She did exactly what you would've done in her shoes, and you know it."
"Don't you ever speak to me like that, you second-"
"I'm not done! Everything was gone. Our people, our planet, our families. For a while, we thought you were dead, too! She did everything she needed to do to survive. So what? You're angry that she was smart enough to live? Would you rather not have your sister standing here?"
"That doesn't excuse-" Raditz yet again cuts him off.
"We were all just kids. Everything that happened was straight out of a nightmare. She was scared, Vegeta."
Vegeta scoffs. "Saiyans don't experience fear."
Raditz shakes his head. "We both know that's bullshit."
"I don't need this." He kicks a rock, sending it speeding into the distance. "Or you! I don't need either of you. You can both drop dead for all I care."
"I'll see you in hell!" You scream back at him. Before you can shout any obscenities, you feel a small hand on your shoulder.
"Come on," Gohan starts pulling you away. "You can stay with me."
After a bit, you arrive at a decent-sized home in the middle of nowhere. You take one look at the exterior, and the entire place is in disarray. While the interior isn't much better. And you thought Nappa was a slob. "What the hell happened here?"
"Well, you see." Gohan laughs nervously. "Dad isn't really much of a cleaner. It's honestly not that bad, considering it's been abandoned for a year or so." Vegeta would have a conniption if you left your quarters like this.
"Ya, this is not happening. I do not live in filth." You gesture to the vicinity around you. "We are fixing this. I don't care if it takes all damn day." You head straight for the kitchen, picking up a roll of trash bags and tossing them at Gohan. "This is ridiculous. I've seen tyrants keep their prisoners in cleanlier conditions."
"It's not so bad. We can make cleaning fun!" Fun. Fun? This pigsty. It would probably be easier to nuke the whole place and start from scratch.
"You have the same sunshine attitude as your father." You sneer. "I find it vile."
"I like to think of it as being a glass-half-full kinda person." Gohan starts throwing trash into a bag. "It makes things go way quicker. You should try it sometime."
"Maybe after I'm dead." You decided to stop complaining and actually get to work. This is going to be a long day. Let's just hope you can make a dent in this mess. Life on Earth is going to be far more complicated than you ever expected. Maybe cutting your losses and getting the hell off this planet would be worth it. With Frieza out of the picture, you're finally free. You're no longer a puppet being sent to do the bidding of another. And yet, here you are in the middle of nowhere. On this wretched planet. Maybe you're losing your edge?

Dragon Ball Z/Super: Comparing and contrasting Goku and Zamasu— two sides of the same coin? (Long post full of yapping!)
The Goku Black arc consistently portrays Black/Zamasu to be ideological parallels to Trunks for obvious reasons (Hope vs Despair, Selfishness vs Selflessness, he's the protagonist of this arc, etc.), but I think it's an interesting exercise to compare Zamasu's journey to Goku's. In my opinion, it really hammers in why Zamasu failed to reach enlightenment and fell from grace besides "mortals = stupid and barbaric" and plain old narcissism.
Everyone knows Goku's story by now, but I want to hone in on the part that I believe Zamasu's own parallels.
The beginning of Z features Goku gradually being introduced to entirely new realms of power and scale. He has to team up with the guy he worked his ass off to defeat 5 years ago just to barely defeat Raditz, a mid class Saiyan, sacrificing his own life in the process.

He is informed constantly by Vegeta that he is nothing but low-class scum, born at the bottom of the interplanetary Saiyan "totem pole", compared to Vegeta's own super-elite-royalty-goodness.

Then, by Namek, he manages to surpass Vegeta, and even trounces the emperor of the universe who subjugated the entire Saiyan race. After Namek, Goku grows so much that the conceptions of "class" that he was blindsided by quickly become faint memories, only brief blips in his life's work to always get stronger.
Not to be the strongest, or even to become "the strongest Saiyan who ever lived", simply to get stronger. Goku's goal is forever ongoing; he will never feel as if his duty is complete. If it ever was, he'd be restless and unsatisfied.
The key thread throughout the Saiyan and Frieza Sagas is that Goku never uses the labels ascribed to him or his opponents as anything more than momentary benchmarks in service of his overarching, everlasting goal to achieve more and more strength. He does not hear Vegeta's boasts about his status and go "okay, guess I'll be good enough once I can beat Vegeta in a 1 on 1, since I'll basically be a super elite!". He hears King Kai's fervent warnings about Frieza's terrible strength and gets curious rather than demotivated.

He doesn't use either of these as an excuse to run away or quit training.

In fact, Goku never uses anything as an excuse. He is not married to any sort of arbitrary benchmark of strength (that honor goes to Chi Chi), even in Super as he gains power that rivals Gods of Destruction.
To treat a level of strength, or a class (God of Destruction, Angel, Super Elite, Emperor of the Universe) as a stopping point for Goku or some sort of ultimate goal would imply that Goku's desire for strength has a defined end. But it doesn't, and so Goku doesn't put much stock into those things. He never loses sight of his goal, and he literally doesn't even stop training when he's dead.

As for Zamasu, the beginning of his journey is why I thought to juxtapose him with Goku in the first place. He shares a surprising similarity with early Z Goku, in that both were able to achieve greater statuses than their birth would afford them.
Zamasu started off as a normal Kai, the guardian of a universal quadrant (the North, same as King Kai). In terms of Dragon Ball's divine hierarchy, this is actually quite the low standing. It is the second lowest known class of Gods, only ranking above planetary deities like Kami and Dende. If a Core Person (Kai race) is born from a rare, special golden fruit, only then will they be qualified enough to train to be a Supreme Kai.
Zamasu is the only known canon example of a normal Kai being selected to become a Supreme Kai, and so his exceptional ascension up the divine hierarchy is a natural parallel to Goku's own defiance of his low-class nature and his comparatively low power level at birth.

Unlike Goku, however, Zamasu is absolutely obsessed with and bound by certain labels, which ultimately leads to his ideological downfall.
Firstly, we can see his fixation on the idea of godhood when he speaks to Gowasu.

When Gowasu simply tells him to temper himself and observe mortals, he immediately begins focusing on and belittling the gods' philosophy, almost outright saying "what the gods think does NOT align with justice". The way he phrases these sentences in both the dub and sub is key: he says "I thought you'd teach me justice, but...", which creates a juxtaposition between "divinity" and "REAL justice".
He even begins to doubt that a god could be considered a god if they did not align with his definition of justice.
Zamasu is young and inexperienced for a Kai (especially considering regular Kais have far shorter biological lifespans than Supreme Kais), so the reactions he displays in this scene suggest that he had a very romanticized, linear view of both godhood and justice. When Gowasu's statement suggests to Zamasu that he can't reconcile the two, it basically calls out all that Zamasu currently stands for, and he doesn't take it well.
Gowasu ends the discussion by challenging Zamasu's narrowminded belief that gods are "absolute" and perfect, but by then the two are already unable to get through to one another.
If you look at the other gods in Dragon Ball, you'll see what Gowasu means here. For example, Beerus is lazy, temperamental, and childish; none of the other gods really like him. Elder Kai is a lecher. Champa is rather undignified and just as temperamental as Beerus.
Where Goku seeks strength, Zamasu seeks virtue. Yet, unlike Goku, Zamasu has an arbitrary benchmark at where his objective stops: the abstract concept of "godhood".
When Zamasu reaches that endpoint and finds that it's not all it's cracked up to be, he constantly contorts his definition of divinity to match it— or rather, to match himself— rather than accepting that being a god is not equivalent to having a "perfect" sense of justice, or being "perfect" in general. He commits barbaric, brutal, bloodthirsty, and wanton acts, all in the name of "divine justice", despite those things being less becoming of gods and more becoming of mortals.
The dilemma extends to the very end of the arc, where in the dub Corrupted Merged Zamasu says to Vegetto: "If one can't control a world, one can't be called a god of it", instantly justifying his hypocrisy, his sadism, his violence, and his arrogance instead of looking inward and asking himself what it meant to be a god.
Like Gowasu said, Zamasu was "obsessed with the contradictions of gods and mortals", and as Trunks said, "it isn't about gods or mortals". Zamasu was so enamored with the idea and label of godhood, yet did not question whether or not his values, the values of his future counterpart, or the values of the other gods aligned with it. And how could he have questioned it if he didn't truly know what godhood meant himself— if he just used the idea as a synonym for what he believed?
Where Goku saw arbitrary labels as inconsequential to his overarching quest, Zamasu saw his life be entirely dictated by them. Zamasu allowed himself to be entrenched in the god-mortal dichotomy, whereas Goku's nature would never allow him to lose his big-picture goal like that.
When Goku's reality is challenged, whether by the introduction of some groundless measure of value (power level, Saiyan class) or by a vastly stronger opponent, he doesn't flinch. He doesn't stop. He doesn't make excuses. His overall goal doesn't change.
When Zamasu's reality was challenged, he broke and became everything he hated. He bent and twisted the rules of what he considered "just", and shattered the natural divine order by doing away with all Gods of Destruction. His goal, by then, was unrecognizable compared to his previous goal to be a benevolent Supreme Kai.
Where Goku's triumphs led him to continue being diligent and humble, Zamasu's own led him to be stagnant and arrogant. Even though Zamasu was proactive and cunning, he was stagnant in the sense that none of what he did made him more moral or virtuous, or gave him a greater understanding of the universe, even though those were the things he originally sought when studying under Gowasu.
All he did was further embed himself (literally, with Future Zamasu) within his own radical beliefs; he never progressed towards his original goal because he replaced it with "I am THE God, no more gods are needed, I will exterminate all mortals personally". His arrogance and inability to see gods as flawed beings made him lose the plot.
Goku continued working hard and getting stronger after vanquishing Frieza, whereas Zamasu's entitlement made him become a complete shell of himself.
Goku saw his growth from low-class warrior to Legendary Super Saiyan to be a testament to everything he stood for; the desire to protect and avenge his friends, his inherited Saiyan pride from Vegeta, and most importantly, his neverending journey to get stronger. Zamasu saw his ascension from North Kai to Supreme Kai as an excuse. A stopping point. An "okay, I've reached the pinnacle of the virtue I seek", refusing to accept that there was more beyond the arbitrary value and moral standing he placed on the role of a god, refusing to think mortals could ever possibly learn, and refusing to think gods could ever need to learn.
Zamasu is a dark reflection of Goku— Son Goku is everything that Zamasu is not. Zamasu is the opposite of many reasons that Goku is such a distinct and unique character, and that makes both of them all the more compelling.

Could you do a one-shot of Frieza? Maybe he’s just hovering above earth plotting (as villains typically do with their internal monologues) and gets hit with the “love at first sight” of a human girl, (perhaps a friend of bulma) and is immediately captivated by how gentle and beautiful she is, but this is Frieza we’re talking about so he probably thinks she did something to him to make him feel this sort of way
Bewitched (Frieza x fem!reader)
A/N: This one is a little short but I hope you like it!
Revenge was a dish best served cold, a thought Frieza had been pacifying himself with constantly since his first defeat on Namek. He’d spent countless hours plotting about how he would rid himself of the Saiyan scum. Now the time had come. After countless hours of training, something Frieza hadn’t done a single day in his life, he was ready. They would pay for their humiliation, for his temporary dethroning. As the ship came to a stop, hovering above Capsule Corp he flew out towards it to survey the scene.
Below him stood a crowd of earthlings, half-Saiyans, and his two foes standing in front of the crowd waiting for him. As Frieza scanned over the crowd he found himself instantly bewitched. A mere human woman stood amongst the crowd gazing up at him with a mix of fear and hatred. The sight tugged at his heart in an unknown spinechilling way.
“Women, who are you? What have you done to me?” Frieza shrieked pointing at her, tail whipping violently behind him. The terrified woman merely cried out in fright clinging to the arm of Vegeta’s blue haired woman. A delicate looking creature, especially in such a state of fear. “What the hell are you talking about” Vegeta crossly snapped back, jaw clenched as he stared up at his former slaver. “How dare she use her powers on me” Frieza emphasised. “Powers? What powers?” the small bird boned women asked voice quivering. “Y/N is just a normal human. She can’t even channel her ki” Goku replied to Frieza, head cocked as he analysed him.
It wasn’t a surprise to anyone that Frieza had returned, revenge was in his nature. Yet, it seemed something else entirely was afoot. “Her! She’s done something to me. I’m having a strange squeezing in my chest. It didn’t start until I made eye contact with her, she’s bewitching me” Frieza snapped at the two stupid Saiyans. Vegeta was visibly taken aback for a second before he broke out in barking laughter. Wiping tears from his eyes the oldest Saiyan simply said, “If you’d told me as a boy that I’d get to see Frieza, Lord of the Universe flustered by a simple crush.”
Frieza was stunned by Vegeta’s bold proclamation, “It can’t be. You’re wrong Vegeta, that woman isn’t as innocent as she seems.” Vegeta simply burst out into louder more obnoxious laughter. Y/N stood stunned beside Bulma at the scene unfolding unsure what to make of it. “If Y/N has you so wound up then you might as well leave. Neither Kakarot or I are interested in fighting you when you’re not at your best” with that Vegeta turned and strode away from him.
“Mark my words, the next time I return I’ll destroy this planet and all of you pathetic creatures on it” Frieza announced in faux calm, “I’ll find a way around this bewitching.” Stealing a final glance at Y/N Frieza tactically retreated, convinced that he’d find a way to overcome this and return for his long-awaited revenge.

You pointing out that Vegeta in the Saiyan and Namek sagas was very consistently characterized as someone who never loses track of anything that happens on the battlefield made me realize how much of an “oh fuck” moment it was for him to lose track of final form Frieza in the opening of their battle.
It was literally the first time in the series he lost track of anything he knew was there, and it was his singular target no less. No wonder that fight broke him, he failed at arguably his most notable non-strength advantage at a time when he thought his battle instincts were at their peak.
Also, love your analyses btw, your takes on the series you talk about are really thoughtful, and make me think about the characters in really deep new ways!
Aww, thank you!
An interesting note is that Vegeta still has a fantastic perception moment even in that fight.
Frieza's first Death Beam takes Vegeta by surprise as much as it does everyone else.
As I've said before, Frieza's Death Beam is basically a sniper rifle in ki form. It's an intensely accurate ki bullet designed to nail a target through obstacles in the way, fired at such a speed that the intended recipient is dead before anyone even realizes he fired.
He killed Cargo with it previously, and the same fate ultimately catches up to Dende five days later. When it does, it goes off without a hitch. Frieza kills Dende before Krillin, Gohan, Vegeta, and Piccolo can even react to the shot being fired.
It's such a cool attack.
But now that Vegeta realizes that this is a thing Frieza can do, he's ready for it the next time Frieza tries to snipe someone. This is honestly a brilliant bit of choreography that really shows off how perceptive Vegeta is. Gohan, Krillin, and Piccolo all rush Frieza at once.
They keep up the pressure until Frieza suddenly vanishes, at which point only Vegeta - watching from a high vantage - is able to track where he went.
At this point, Vegeta's able to intercept Frieza's Death Beam.
This is a great moment of 4-D martial chess.
Frieza has this highly accurate long-range sniping move, right? So he vanishes, using his speed to obscure where the next attack is going to come from. His target is Gohan but he doesn't attack Gohan.
Instead, he appears behind Piccolo. It's a feint. Even if they're able to follow his sudden vanish, his positioning obscures his true target. When he points at Piccolo and fires, the natural assumption would be that he's trying to shoot Piccolo.
But actually, he's using his sniping attack to skirt past Piccolo and hit Gohan behind him.
But Vegeta actually manages to keep up this time. Vegeta identifies Gohan as Frieza's real target and is able to kick him out of the way at the last second.
In the process, repaying the favor from Recoome.
Why didn't you attack Frieza, Vegeta? Doesn't sentimentality make you retch, Vegeta?
He'd never admit it but his behavior patterns are already starting to change from exposure to teamwork. But I digress.
In any case, this is a fantastic moment of choreographic mind-games, and Vegeta's success here is what fills him with all the piss and vinegar he brings to his fight.
Because he actually did it. He beat the Death Beam. He is sharp enough, fast enough, cunning enough to keep up and outplay Frieza. Vegeta is in this fight for real.
...which only sets him up for immediate disappointment.
Nope. Never mind. Still just a scrub. And as proud as Vegeta was of beating the Death Beam, he won't be proud for long.
Vegeta was never a match for Frieza.
He just had a real good moment. Sometimes that happens in a fight. Sometimes you get an incredible shot in on the opponent's kidney while he's beating the shit out of you. Doesn't mean you're gonna win the fight.

Hello, how is your day going? may I ask for some headcanons of Frieza, Cell, Vegeta and Shin with a demon reader who is like Alastor from Hazbin Hotel? I saw the one shots with the reader who is like Charlie and it was amazing!, the reader is a neutral chaotic creature who gets along with the Z fighters, and has the perpetual smile too, besides that enjoys fighting for mere entertainment
Haha fun! And a side of chaos.
He is so on board with the chaos you will bring
Constantly trying to get you to be a little more destructive and assist him with conquest
Doesn't understand your friendship with the Z Fighters but tolerates it given how much your chaos affects them in the best ways
His favorite was when Goku's hair caught fire. No matter how much you claim it was an accident, he will not stop giggling over it
Despite all the Z Fighters knowing that you smile all the time, they are all nervous that the two of you sit in the corner smiling
Doesn't know, nor cares about the chaos you bring...
Except that one time you two nearly drowned (Cell panicked at first before remembering he can fly)
He also isn't that bothered by your friendship with the Z Fighters, he just stands there as something of a bodyguard
No, he doesn't know why you're smiling and he won't join in until you can explain why you're doing it
He wants to try to keep you from being so chaotic, but he is rather amused by the results
Until the effects turn back on him...
Every time he tries to match your smiling/smirking energy, everyone who isn't Goku is nervous af
Though he is pretty good at keeping the chaos down when he needs to
He is trying so hard to keep you from doing chaotic things
Standing in the back, seconds away from groaning as he does what he can to fix the mess
Has no problem making frequent visits to Earth for friendly visits (and maybe to keep you from terrorizing Kabito)
He is rarely smiling when you are, unless you're being behaved, usually strained smiles from him
Good thing he stays up in the mountains, fewer chances to cause chaos that way
You still find away, you always find away
That's usually when he concedes to visit others besides Gohan and Videl
Is a little worried that your chaotic nature will rub off on Pan
Doesn't like how much you smile, it makes him nervous
He just knows you're plotting something

I didn't think much about two scenes between Goku and Chi-Chi that take place post Trunks killing Frieza and in the Android Saga.
The first scene is after Trunks has explained the threat of the Androids, and the Z fighters resolve to fight to change the future. After Goku asks Piccolo to train with him and Gohan, they go back where Goku and Chichi have a discussion. Naturally, Chi-Chi is angry and Goku is trying to be calm and explain that Gohan wants to fight. Of course, it ends in Goku accidentally knocking her out of the house because he doesn't understand his strength. The second scene is when Goku recovers from the heart virus and decides to train in the Time Chamber. He asks Chi-Chi if he could take Gohan with him to train as well.
The reason I am bringing these two scenes is because we see Goku and Chi-Chi discuss Gohan's involvement in battles for the first time. In the Saiyan saga, they could not discuss it because Goku dies and Gohan got kidnapped. While the Frieza saga involved Gohan deciding to go with Krillin and Bulma on his own. These two actually shows them discussing as parents about their child. Goku asking Chi-Chi for permission shows how much he values her permission to train Gohan, because he knows how protective she is of him, along with everything that has happened plus how important Gohan's studies are to Gohan. Goku does not want to disrupt his son's education unless there is no choice.
I may be reading too much into it, but its a thought.
