I love the Megalon and Gigan dynamic duo
Now get ready for...
Antonio and X!
I dunno maybe instead of X blowing up with the ship, maybe it hit the ground and fell into Seatopia 🤷.
I also really like the idea of how people resemble their pets in some way. They make me think of their respective Kaiju.

Friday night disco party in Seatopia with Grandmaster DJ Antonio!
I saw a group of Japanese ladies cosplaying as the Seatopian priestesses at Japan's Wonder Festival Summer 2016 convention. I'll have to dig through the archives to see if I have any photos of them.

Normalize making Megalon into a heroic monster instead of an enemy. He was fighting on the side of right in Godzilla vs. Megalon. He and Seatopia were just going about it the wrong way.

Stargazing ⭐️
Saw the one meme floating around & decided to make my own version along with using it as a valid excuse to draw these two again. I do see Megalon enjoying it much more that Gigan though. Im my mind, Megs didnt get a lot of time to actually go out & explore by the ruler of Seatopia, so actually going out to stargaze (more than likely fighting just to get permission) means literally everything to him.
With Gigan, it’s more of just something he’s very used to (being from space) but at the same time, i have a feeling that it could be a thing that brings him some sort of bad memories (more like something he’s trying to avoid). Just explain a lil (tho honestly i do feel like it can be its own separate post), his time with the Xiliens & more importantly being in M Space Hunter Nebula proved to be an overwhelming & stressing experience for him (them having “created” him & therefore demanding more & more from him in exchange for “upgrades”). At some point he fled the moment he had the chance when commanded to go fight for them & not returning back. Instead he’s basically been hiding for a good enough while & during that time, he found himself & stayed alongside Megs. Genuinely enjoying his company & someone who didnt judge him compared to the Xilliens
But also given how much it means to his friend to see the stars out at night, he’s willing to make a small sacrifice just to see his best friend smile. That & reminding himself that he can at least feel less nervous & afraid with Megalon by their side, who at this point is the only one that means literally the whole world (or even universe) to him
but yea, these 2 still mean everything to me & drawing them stargazing together was definitely something i wanted to do so yay :D
[i love coming up with lore for some of my more fav kaiju or just kaiju in general. Hope i can at least share most of them ^^:]

Fun facts about MEGALON:
It was first featured by Toho studios in 1973’s Godzilla vs. Megalon.
Megalon is from the underwater kingdom of Seatopia.
The people of Seatopia, angry at human landlubbers for all that nuclear testing in the oceans of the world, unleash Megalon as an agent of revenge.
According to one source, Megalon weighs 40,000 tons with a height of 55 meters and length of 80 meters. (How does one measure a monster?)
Megalon shoots lightning bolts from his horn. He can also spit fire bombs from his mouth, and he has drill hands that let him burrow under the earth at the speed of Mach 2.

Godzilla Deicide AU Megalon hes my favorite kaiju if i ever make a kaiju fancomic of my AU hes gonna be the main character
AU Lore: millions of years before humanity, Gaia chose several lifeforms to uplift into guardian deities as a means protect her world from harm. One of these uplifted creatures was a beetle that became the subterranean protector, Megalon. As the guardian of the subterranean realm, he was usually not aware of conflicts that occurred above, staying mostly oblivious to things that happened on the surface world. After millions of years of hibernating underground he was discovered by an ancient society of humans that fled from the surface after a great that flood destroyed their land. they built their settlements around the kaiju for protection, he was immediately fascinated by the tiny creatures that called his realm home and chose to protect his new little friends. The people expanded their settlements across the subterranean realm becoming the empire of Seatopia, helping their deity keep balance within the cavernous land living at peace for thousands of years. Though nuclear tests within the ocean opened a fissure within the sea which flooded much of the subterranean realm enraging it's guardian causing him to attack the surface realm. Due to being underground for much of his life Megalon is very curious and easily distracted by things that are new and foreign to him, Often being destructively curious of things he hasn't seen before. He is Also easily agitated due to not being used to negative stimuli and becoming angry when things don't go his way.

Back from Godzilla x Kong! Gotta say, I love how you have this dynamic of... Mothra is Lawful Good, Kong is Neutral Good, and Godzilla is Chaotic Good. Because sure, Godzilla is officially the arbiter of nature's balance, he's the one keeping things in check; But boy does he not care about what he needs to do to get it done. I like how the Monsterverse has made Godzilla into quite the anti-hero as well; It's a nice mix of both heroic and villainous depictions. He has no real love for humanity, even if he begrudgingly acknowledges its right and need to exist.
If Godzilla needs to get from Point A to B, it doesn't really matter to him too much if there's a fully-populated city he needs to stomp through, especially if he's on short time (Conversely, Mothra and Kong seem much more sensitive to that sort of thing, Mothra especially). It really does make Godzilla feel like a wild card that humanity just has to accept and deal with, and coexists with uneasily; You know, in theory, he has your back. But you're still rightfully terrified of Godzilla, and hell so are other titans. He's the scariest kaiju on the block for a reason, and I love how he's still a mean city-destroying menace while technically being a 'good' guy. Portraying Goji from Kong's perspective, where he's often an antagonist, was a good way to maintain that terror that was alleviated with King of the Monsters' depiction.
Also, I can't help but imagine how relieving it was for Jia to find more Iwi! Trapper makes a good point about how she ends up having a lot of weight on her shoulders with saving the world, but you know what? She ends up having so much other weight taken off knowing there are other Iwi alive and thriving. For years, Jia must've been saddled with the burden of keeping her entire culture alive, finding a way to somehow preserve it and keep it going; But now she can relax, she knows it'll live on with or without her, and that makes Jia's decision to stay with Andrews all the more natural because she's free from obligation.
You know, seeing Monarch successfully augment Kong with cybernetics... I'd love to see the Monsterverse tackle Gigan soon, because with how technology has become so much more advanced since the first film in 2014, it feels plausible that some would see the success of Kong with the gauntlet and think; Hey, let's bring back that project full-force! Maybe they find Gigan, originally flesh and blood, deeply injured and torn apart after fighting Godzilla. Initially he's on life-support with artificial organs, but at some point investors decide, let's just reprogram him into a cybernetic attack dog to defend humanity with!
Alas, Gigan breaks free of his programming; And he ends up going on a killing spree. Because while other antagonists like Ghidorah or Skar King are ambitious warlords, Gigan is a pettier sadist, a bully who likes to hurt and torture. He kills for sport, and that's literally all he's going to do once he gets his upgrades, doing it all for no other reason than fun.
Of course, another part of me would really like to see Gigan still associated with aliens, too; Monsterverse has clearly become modern Showa, we've basically got magic now! And I like that, the weirder and more fantastical, the better. There's an underground civilization that uses ancient technology bordering on magic, the Iwi of the Hollow Earth are like the Monsterverse's Seatopians. So it seems a natural evolution to introduce a more one-to-one counterpart to Seatopia in another film, another group of Hollow Earth humans who want to destroy those on the surface, and worship Megalon's power to tunnel through the earth itself. And if you have Megalon, you should have Gigan, and if you have Gigan, you may as well throw in aliens, not just in the sense that they're from space like Ghidorah, but I mean like. Actual UFOs and the like.

Gemstone Megalon & Ozymandias
So, I’ve been toying with the idea that at some point pre-Space Crystal Cordyceps (PSCC), Ozymandias encountered the Seatopians and through them Megalon. And this was at a point when Megalon was relatively more chill towards other Titans (thanks to Seatopia not yet deciding it needed to fuck off entirely from surface affairs), albeit with the caveat that they prove themselves via combat and don’t try to say, convert the Seatopians to their own followings (on pain of being drilled to death) or expose too much about them - again, on pain of drillings.
Suffice it to say, Ozymandias passed with flying colors - but not without coming out with broken limbs, dozens of open wounds, and feeling more tired than he had in centuries. Megalon however didn’t see anything wrong with that, only remarking that it was “THE MARK OF A TRUE WARRIOR”.
And that was how Ozymandias started his odd not-quite-friendship with the literal God of War.
It wasn’t quite a mentorship and it wasn’t exactly the same as the sort of ‘professional’ gatherings between other Titans. It was moreso a very, very, very old elder instructing and guiding a junior - a junior who had only ever believed that Megalon was a myth, a fairytale to spook fledglings until this moment.
He never told his dad or little brother about his meetings with Megalon, still being somewhat naive at that point and being under a sworn oath to leave the Seatopians out of most of the world’s wider affairs, since tensions between the Apes and Godzillasaurus were very much on the rise.
And despite it all, Megalon did enjoy the company of another Titan to teach and tell stories of the olden days to. There was the Light Mother of course, as there always would be, but their differing philosophies had caused them to drift over time. And the Preservers - those designated 'Battra’ by mortals- cared not for anything that wasn’t preserving the world as a whole. Ozymandias was the first time in millennia that Megalon had met someone or some thing that he could impart the wisdom of War and its intricacies upon. Or at least, one who was not of his own people.
Then one day, long after their first meeting, he was taken. Snatched away by a nightmare from the stars. And though Megalon has not and will never weep, for War is ever enduring and the pain of loss everpresent, he still felt like he had lost something then.
And because he is War and War is a constant in all things, he also knew that whilst his friend was not 'dead’ as mortal kind would understand it, the agony he endured would have made any death preferable - his domain stretching across the gulf of time and space to relay the awful feelings that the Space Crystal Cordyceps placed Ozymandias under. And even beyond that, if Megalon focused far enough back, you’d get a whole history of dead or ruined worlds by the predator that was Gigan - a tapestry of insanity woven by a madman.
He naturally never told anyone of course - Seatopia distanced itself from the world above and retreated to untapped depths of the Hollow Earth and he only vaguely knew of Ozymandias’ father and brother from what little he caught during their discussions after battle and philosophy had been spent. To Megalon, they were not those who had faced him and proven their worth, so to him, he couldn’t care less. War takes. That is the nature of the universe.
But the hatred of the loss of someone who could have been a pupil, taken before their time, the rage at the senseless violation of all that he stood for and represented, the sheer hate of a worthy foe being denied their right to a glorious end was still there and that only doubled as the Seatopians slowly began to become one with their God.
This incidentally probably added to the fury he assaulted the world with post-awakening.
When SpaceGodzilla arrives, Megalon is likely amongst the first to respond. Not because of protecting the surface-dwellers, or defending territory. But to simply grant a proper death to a worthy warrior who deserved far better than to become a slave to a parasite.
---
Man, as if Ozymandias being taken by Gigan’s fleet and the SCC couldn’t be any more of a loss, here comes MEGALON! This also nicely gives the big ol’ bug more depth, which I like a lot.
