Now that I know that the “writers room” for this season functionally didn’t exist, everything makes perfect sense now! So here are some things I would change if I had the chance

1. We’d have three seasons. Two seasons is just an awkward length for me in general, so 3 just seems like a sweet spot

2. We cut the soundtrack in half. We have 23 songs as of right now, so let’s have no more than 11-13 max. That’s not crazy for 9 episodes

3. Speaking of the soundtrack, there’d be more Black artists. Syd, Little Simz, Tyler the Creator, FKA Twigs, Yseult, JID, Akintoye, Brandy, Doechii etc all would’ve fit the vibe.

4. Last one about the music, I promise. It’d be quieter. I feel like the music was louder than the dialogue at some points, and it completely took me outta the scenes

5. Onscreen development! “Oh but they don’t have to spell everything out for us!” Cool! But wanting to SEE characters meaningfully interact does not fit the definition of “spoon feeding” or “spelling things out” in my book.

6. There would have been more foreshadowing that Maddie was a spy. It was obvious, but it also wasn’t set up properly.

7. Ekko wouldn’t have been sidelined for an entire act. His relationship with Vi would be present. Best believe I would give him the chance to cuss Vi and Caitlyn out for what they did as enforcers

8. Speaking of that, Vi would have wrestled with the decision to become one. Notice I said “decision” because it should’ve been her choice. Caitlyn had no right to guilt trip her and then strong arm her into becoming one

9. Vi would have fought with Caitlyn over her wanting to use The Gray. The Vi I know and love would not go so hard in rationalizing the use of it

10. Caitlyn would’ve gotten meaningfully redeemed. In order to do that tho, we would have to show the true weight of using The Gray and enforcing martial law in Zaun. Caitlyn would be forced to confront the harm she caused with her own eyes, and actually be genuine remorseful

11. Let Jinx be unhinged! I love my baby regardless, but I do agree she was defanged a bit this season. Let her kill more enforcers and act up in front of Isha before realizing where she is and what she’s doing. Let Jinx want to be better and then develop into the kooky version of herself she is in season two

12. Isha would be more than a plot device for Jinx’s story. Let Isha live on and be happy with Jinx. Killing her was just for shock value.

13. Part of the reason why I think Isha should live is so she gets to grow up in a better Zaun. A free Zaun. She deserves better. They all do.

14. The au episode would’ve been way different, cause it doesn’t makes sense for centuries of oppression to just magically go away all of a sudden because one kid(and a Zaunite kid at that) died.

15. More scenes of Sevika guiding Jinx in how to rally the troops and get ready to fight for their freedom

16. Ekko and Jinx reconciling because although there’s no shortage of bad blood between them, there is love buried deep in there somewhere too. Let Jinx be the main freedom fighter and have Ekko back her up today, so he and the Firelights can focus on community building and organizing tomorrow.

17. Jinx’s rocket should’ve killed more people. All the Councilors(sorry Shoola but you too girl) except Mel, Jayce, and Viktor should’ve died. Viktor and Jayce should’ve been in critical condition but Mel would’ve been fine.

18. Heimerdinger and Ekko’s relationship would be fundamentally different. He should NOT be cozying up with that little furball whose inaction is directly responsible for the current conditions in Zaun

That’s all that comes to mind for now, but yeah. It would’ve been a completely different story. What could’ve been for real 😭😭😭

Summary: Amber gets followed one night and spends the night in the on-call room out of fear for her life causing her to look and feel crappy the morning after.

I walked out of the hospital with Dahlia and Schmitt as I stretched my neck after my 16-hour shift. My feet are sore and my eyes are barely open. I think the same could be said for the other two since their walking at the same exhausted, slow pace as me.

I groan, “16 hours of scut and popping cysts.”

“16 hours of ordering labs and discharging patients.” Dahlia countered.

“16 hours of B team.” Schmitt says with disgust and I chuckle, “Oh you think that’s funny? It was bedpan day and I haven’t eaten since dawn. I don’t think I’m ever gonna eat again if I keep getting saddled with B team.”

“Yeah, it’s like me after I saw The Human Centipede.” I shudder at that mention and the unappealing scene where the guy dumps in the girl’s mouth and she has to swallow it, “I think I lost like five pounds after that eating his feces scene.”

“Remind me to never let you pick a movie for us.” Dahlia whimpers in pain, “My feet are so sore will one of you massage my feet for money?” Schmitt and I immediately say no, “I had to ask.”

“Well look on the bright side.” I walk ahead and turn to face them walking backwards, “It’s gonna get worse for us tomorrow.”

“That’s the bright side?” Schmitt asks with a raised eyebrow.

“There’s a cold comfort in embracing the suck.” Dahlia shakes her head at my quote, “Yeah I heard it too I’m really tired I’ll come up with a better saying after at least two rem cycles.”

“We’ll be lucky to get half.” Dahlia quips, “Your wrong it’s not a comfort to embrace the suck.”

“I didn’t say it was for everyone.” I pull my keys out of my backpack, “My car is on the east side I’ll see you guys tomorrow.”

“That’s assuming we don’t die from exhaustion.” I chuckle at Dahlia’s dark humor, “Nope still not working. Good night.”

“Good night.” Schmitt says.

“Night.” I walk away from them and see my car at the end of the lot. The pole lights help guide me through the dark area as it’s a little before midnight. I’ve gotten used to walking down a dark path at night and I feel a lot safer here than in the NYU campus. I see a few staff members getting in their vehicles as I get closer to my car. My stomach suddenly turns uneasy but it’s not physical, it’s more intuition, the kind you get when you feel danger coming. I look behind me and I see nobody is there. I try to shake it off but the feeling doesn’t go away even when I get in my car.

I turn the engine on, calmly exit my parking spot and leave the lot. I rub my eyes to keep them open as I stop at the red light. I look at my rear-view mirror and see a black Lexus behind me that I dismiss. I drive towards my destination for about ten minutes as I yawn, I look at my rear-view mirror and double back when I see the black Lexus is still behind me.

I’ve heard stories from my friends about how a car was following them home no matter how much they slowed or sped up so I decided to test something. I pull my foot off the gas pedal so I can slow down considerably. I go from 40 to 20 MPH and I look to see if the car goes around me but my blood turns cold as the car is slowing down instead confirming that he is following me.

I take a deep breath so I don’t panic and think about the next logical step. The cops are gonna think it’s nothing and just tell me to keep driving. I can’t go home because he’ll know where I live and follow me inside my apartment. I would go to Andrew’s but he moved out of Hunt’s and he hasn’t texted me his new address. I want to go to Alex and Jo’s loft but I don’t know if their working tonight and I don’t want to be alone in that place because their neighborhood is a perfect kill zone.

There’s only one place I can think of where I won’t be alone and this guy won’t follow me, the hospital. I make a U turn and I gulp as I see the Lexus do the same thing. I try to stay calm so I can keep my eyes forward and not crash. My eyes are wide and alert as my exhaustion is replaced with fear.

I’ve had creeps hit on me at a bar and I’ve been cat-called almost everywhere I go but I’ve never had to deal with a stalker. The fact that he’s following me in his car scares me more because he can make us crash and kidnap me. I try not to speed up so I don’t give myself away and ten minutes of tense driving later I find myself in the Grey Sloan parking lot again. The car is still following me so I opt for a space close to the entrance and am relieved to find the one empty space right by the lobby entrance.

I park my car, take my keys out and quickly get out of my seat. I look to see the black Lexus stop in the middle of the parking lot as I get out and even with the windows tinted, I can feel someone’s eyes staring at me. I feel my spine creep with chills and quickly get on the sidewalk practically running towards the lobby where I’m hoping to feel some semblance of safety for tonight.

Jo stands in front of the mirror in a doctor’s lounge practicing her speech to the interns on her first day as chief resident. Alex is sitting on the couch behind her eating a breakfast burrito to give her pointers.

“I am your chief resident.” Jo speaks with command, “What does that mean? It means that I am your chief. Your boss, your commander, your overlord, your queen. It means when I speak, you listen! And when you make mistakes, it reflects on me. So no mistakes!” She drops the scary glare and smiles turning to Alex anxious for his approval, “Was it good? Was it scary?”

“Very, very scary.” Alex replies with a full mouth.

Jo smiles gleefully, “Really?”

Alex drops the lie, “No.”

Jo frowns, “What? Didn’t I sound like Bailey? I was trying to sound like Bailey?”

Alex chuckles nostalgically, “Oh no.”

Jo groans, “Whatever you’re not an intern.” She pulls her phone out, “I’m gonna call Amber and see what she thinks. She’ll probably shake in horror when I pull that badass speech on her.”

Alex chuckles, “Jo my sister is not easily rattled, last week I saw her yawn at a sewer rat. A very big, very dirty sewer rat that hissed its razor-sharp teeth at her and you know what she did?”

“She yawned and walked away?” Jo asks numbly.

“She yawned and walked away.” Alex confirms taking another bite of his breakfast, “But if you think your scarier than a sewer rat be my guest.”

“Oh I am so much scarier than a sewer rat and I will prove you wrong.” Jo calls Amber’s cell and they hear an old phone sound coming from the on-call room next door. Alex and Jo look at each other perplexed before they go next door and open the door.

They find Amber sitting on the bottom bunk groaning tiredly. She’s wearing a black and white striped shirt with wrinkles for days; dark jeans and her black combat boots are in the corner. Her makeup looks worn out and her long blonde hair is in disarray from pillow head. Her phone is still ringing by the pillow and Jo hangs up looking at her confused.

“Amber?” Alex looks at her concerned over her state as she looks up at him with bags under her eyes, “What’s going on? Did you spend the night here?”

Amber looks around and realizes she did to her disgust, “I must have, gross.”

“Why didn’t you go home?” Jo asks, “I remember your schedule said you clocked out last night.”

Amber rubs her eyes and inhales, “I was followed last night.”

Alex’s eyes widen in shock and his brotherly instincts kick in, “You were what?”

“After my shift I went to my car and I got this feeling like I was being watched but I thought it was nothing so I got in my car.” Amber recounts, “I didn’t notice until ten minutes later that a car was following me, it kept following me even when I was slowing down. I didn’t want him to know where I lived so I circled back to the hospital and he did the same.”

Jo looks at her in shock and fear, “Oh my god, are you okay?”

“I was scared but I got here as fast as I could and went inside even when he stopped his car to stare at me.” Amber shudders at the chilling memory, “I didn’t see a face but I swear I-I could feel him looking at me. I thought I’d wait him out in here but I guess I fell asleep.”

Alex sits next to Amber looking at her with regard, “Why didn’t you come to my place I was home I could’ve let you spend the night.”

Amber looks at him in mild shock over his protectiveness and explains, “I didn’t know that at the time and no offense but your neighborhood is the perfect place for him to dump my body.”

“So, you spent the night here after being terrorized by a stalker?” Alex’s tone is filled with anger over what his sister had to do to be safe from a creep, “I am calling the cops.”

“Don’t it’s a waste of time.” Amber explains bitterly, “I didn’t see a license plate and his windows were blacked out so I didn’t get a face. The cops are just gonna say I was exaggerating and won’t do anything unless he gets out of his car and attacks me and only then.”

Jo nods, “She’s right the cops don’t do much in stalking cases until after he makes a move.”

“Damn it.” Alex stands up furious over that harsh but realistic statement, “Well you’re not gonna spend the night in an on-call room again that’s for sure and you’re not going back to your place.”

“What do you mean?” Amber asks.

“He means you’re staying with us until this creep gets caught.” Jo explains knowing what Alex is suggesting and agreeing with it.

Amber shakes her head, “No I don’t want to be a burden and it was probably just a one-time thing anyway.”

“I’m not taking any chances.” Alex states with conviction, “I’ll drive you to your place after we clock out and you can pack stuff for a week and I’ll take you to the loft. No arguments.” Amber looks at him with an unknown face, “What?”

Amber shrugs, “Nothing it’s just strange to see you being my overprotective brother again even though I’m all grown up now.”

“Yeah, better late than never, right?” Alex says, “I’ll meet you in the lobby after work you should get ready for the new chief resident.”

“I think she’ll take it easy on her after last night.” Jo says with sympathy and turns to Amber, “But he’s right you should get ready.”

Amber stands up, “I need a shower god knows how many butts I smell like right now.”

She walks past them and closes the door leaving them to stew, “She’s had a rough enough life she doesn’t need some stalker on top of this Jo.”

Jo nods, “I know I’m worried too but let’s take this one step at a time. She’s working today so she won’t be alone and she’s coming to our place so she’ll be safe. She’s tough Alex if I was afraid for anyone it would be the creep when he makes the mistake of approaching her.”

Alex chuckles lightly, “Yeah having two brothers teach you how to fight against your schizophrenic mother preps you for anything in life. I’m still worried though.”

Jo grins at him, “You know this whole protective big brother act is actually really sweet. Not to Amber she’ll think it’s stupid but to me it’s sweet.”

Alex nods, “Well I figured I owe her about 13 years of brotherly support and I should start now.”

After my shower I exit the bathroom in my scrubs with my hair wet feeling refreshed and clean of the on-call room germs. I’m still disgusted that I spent the night in there but I’m more pissed on why I had to. It’s bad enough this guy made me feel unsafe to go to my house but now he’s making me feel unsafe at work too.

I didn’t tell Alex that after I went inside, I waited in the lobby for an hour to make sure he left the parking lot. During that time, he called me and I was too afraid to answer it so I hung up. After I hung up, I noticed the black Lexus driving by the front entrance slowly like he wanted me to know he was still there. That happened four more times after that and I decided to go to an on-call room and wait it out. Instead, he called me throughout the night and I only got a good hour of sleep.

My pulse stops as my phone rings and I see the UNKNOWN NUMBER caller id, “God leave me alone.” I mutter under my breath as I hang up and get a cup of burnt coffee from the complimentary dispensers by the door. Roy notices my state and smirks to my annoyance.

“You look like you slept under an overpass.” Roy says smugly.

“Whatever.” I take a big sip of my cup hoping to get my energy back. I’m so exhausted that I don’t have a comeback for Doctor Douche as I call him in my head. From the corner of my eye, I see Dahlia and Schmitt looking at me concerned.

“Are you okay?” Dahlia asks, “You look tired.”

“Did you get any sleep?” Schmitt asks as he closes his locker, “I thought you went home last night?”

I groan at their questions, “I’ve got a mild case of insomnia it’s nothing I’ll just pick up some melatonin after work and crawl under my blanket for a week.” I leave out what really happened because the last thing I want is pity from them and showing weakness is a guaranteed bullseye. They’re already gonna rip me one once they figure out my brother’s girlfriend is the new chief resident.

“Ah don’t worry She-Karev.” Roy starts his morning with the usual condescending comment, “If you ask nicely, I’m sure the chief resident will prop you up some pillows and lay out lavender oil. It’s the perks of having her date your brother, right?” I roll my eyes at him and he’s suspicious, “No comeback again? What’s your deal?”

My crankiness catches up to me and I face him with a vicious glare that scares him, “My deal is that I can’t sleep and I’m spending my morning being harassed by some entitled douchebag who provides nothing except daddy’s infinity pool and a baby dick.” The last insult shocks everyone around me including Roy who’s so taken back that he walks away from me thankfully. I notice Taryn looking at me in shock causing me to glare at her too, “Take a picture it’ll last longer unlike your life.”

Helm’s eyes widen and she walks away too. Dahlia looks at me scared but for some reason she approaches me as I chug my second cup of coffee, “Are you good?”

I finish my cup and snap at her, “I’m peachy fucking keen does that make you happy?”

“I’m gonna walk away from you because you’re the equivalent of a fire breathing dragon right now.” Dahlia walks away from me. I didn’t want to be mean but I’ve been told repeatedly that if I don’t get at least 2 rem cycles a night I get bitchy and more so than usual which means everyone around me is in hostile territory. I make a note to avoid Andrew so he doesn’t become collateral damage.

“Morning everyone.” I swallow the last of the caffeine and turn to face Jo who stands by the door waiting for everyone to stand in front of her. As soon as we all gather around she clears her throat, “Okay I’ll be your chief resident for the duration of your intern year that means when I say your on the pit your on the pit, when I say your on scut your on scut and when I walk you follow me got it?” We all nod at her boss like tone and she turns and walks out the door pausing to look at us in annoyance, “This is when you follow people!” We all snap out of it and follow her on foot as she leads us through the waiting room, “So just know that I am here for you. I will lead and support you and in return you will not be stupid or slow or…make me look bad.”

I smirk at her feeble attempts at intimidation and whisper to her, “Speech was good until the last pause.”

“Karev, you speak when I speak to you.” Jo snaps as we keep walking.

I nod impressed, “Nice if I was an average intern, I would be pissing myself.” Jo smiles at my comment and we stop to wait for Dr. Grey, Pierce and Shepherd so we can be assigned to their service.

The three attendings stop in front of us and Pierce says, “Wilson who do you got for me?”

“Oh okay uh…” Jo checks her tablet as I yawn, “Parker your on cardio with Pierce.” Casey leaves us to follow Pierce and all of us are anxious over which of us is in Dr. Grey’s service. Ever since she won the Harper Avery awards, we all regard her as a god among surgeons and fight over who is gonna be under her wing.

“I have a splenectomy and I need a couple of hands.” Before she even finishes they all raise their hands and butter up to her. I refrain from doing it as I know the strategy is to play it cool and act like I don’t care. It works with dates so it should work here. She doesn’t want a suck up and I really want a surgery but don’t show it even in my tired state.

“I said try not to embarrass me.” Jo reprimands causing us to be quiet as we wait for her decision.

I cross my fingers behind my back waiting for her to make a decision and she finally speaks, “Glasses.” I frown deeper in despair and look at Schmitt behind me in shock who also looks confused, “Your with me let’s go.”

“What?” I whisper to Helm who shrugs and Levi follows Dr. Grey.

Jo also agrees with us, “Would not have been my first choice but moving on. Okay Shepherd?” They raise their hands again and butter up to mine and Jo’s annoyance, “Are you kidding?”

I try to keep my eyes open as I juggle three patients in the pit. One is a man in his 30’s with a sprained ankle, one is an elderly woman complaining of stomach pain and the last one is a young woman who came in with a migraine. I feel like taking a quick nap in one of the beds but I know if I do I’ll get a reprimand and I have enough on my plate as it is.

I head to the station to update the board when my phone vibrates and I groan. It’s the fifth time since I entered the pit. I hang up but Hunt notices, “She-Karev unless it’s a page our patients would appreciate it-”

“I-I know Dr. Hunt I am so sorry. It is the last time I swear.” My phone vibrates again and Hunt raises an eyebrow at me accusingly.

“Last time?”

“It’s not my fault!” I snap and I pause as I try to rectify, “I’m sorry I’m exhausted I’ll take care of this.” I answer my phone and speak in a low angry voice, “Leave me alone you asshole!”

“Amber?” I freeze embarrassed as I recognize Andrew’s voice, “Um I was just calling to ask if you wanted to get dinner tonight but I’m guessing I called you at a bad time.”

“You have no idea.” I say bitterly under my breath and inhale, “Look I’m sorry I’ll call you back later I gotta go bye.” I hang up and face Hunt who raises an eyebrow at me, “Don’t worry I’m blocking him right now.” I block the unknown number id and go back to my patients. Suddenly my elderly patient flatlines and I widen my eyes.

“Karev she’s coding!” Hunt runs over to help.

“I need a crash cart!” I yell at the nurses who get me the crash cart and I ready the paddles when I hear the flatline sound coming from all the monitors. I look on in shock and suddenly my elderly patient wakes up.

“What’s going on?!” The old woman sits up and I am baffled that she’s fine even though her monitor is still flatlining as well as Hunt next to me. The flatlining sound fills the pit and I’m suddenly wide awake with a new and bigger problem staring at me.

Gah, I am so bad at remembering things :'D - I think it might be the one compliment that made me want to actually pursue a singing "carreer" (or more like ... actually sing in public x'D):

For context I come from a family where neither my mom, dad or grandparents are big singers and so I also thought I was bad at singing growing up especially after my sister filmed me singing along to music with headphones on and it sounded horrendous because I couldn't hear myself :'3 Then at high school at around 16 years old I'd lent a cd to a friend where we bonded over liking this one song but for some reason in the moment my friend couldn't recall the name of the song so I sang a bit of it to figure out if we were thinking of the same song. Then from behind a third party friend popped in and said:

"Shut up, you said you couldn't sing that was a lie!!"

And here we are today - me going to musical summer camp in three days using one week on singing rock and pop cover songs and the week after that recording my own music ... oh and I plan on going to karaoke tomorrow x'D

13. Do you have any tattoos? If yes what do they mean?

I do have a tattoo, just one tho on my forearm/shoulder. It is Flapjack (a cardinal bird from the cartoon series the Owl House) holding a handbrush in his beak :3 It symbolises a few things - the upper most layer is that the cardinal is somewhere seen as a newly deceased soul visiting their loved ones so having Flapjack on my arm symbolises my grandmother that passed away last year and that her soul is still with me (the brush is a silly little extra story I can talk about another time if anybody wants to hear it x'D). Yet on a deeper level the bird being Flapjack specifically is due to the fact that just after having cried my eyes out to the first episode of season 3 of the owl house titled For the Future (everybody in the fandom knows what I am referring to with this episode and the character of Flapjack) I got the call that my grandmother was at the hospital. The day after having just rewatched the episode I got the call that she was dead. So because of this Flapjack and my grandmother sort of mixed together in my mind giving my grandmother a spirit animal to take with her up to Heaven.

Now I also find it hilarious given that in april when the finale hit everybody (in the show and out of it) wanted Flapjack tattoos so for once I felt ahead of the curve x'D

Chestnuts are roasting on an open fire. Jack Frost is nipping at your nose. Mom and dad can hardly wait for school to start again. All the dogs in the neighborhood somehow learned to bark Jingle Bells in sync. Yet retail workers are still more annoyed with Mariah Carey. Snow is getting shoveled, tossed, and formed into sentient beings leading parades without permits. It makes for an excellent distraction as the Krampus abducts children for bad behavior. Fruitcake is exchanged only to find its permanent home in the garbage. Terrorists have hijacked the Holiday office party right before your boss can give you a Jelly of the Month Club membership as your bonus. And of course, the Turducken has returned to wreak its fiery vengeance upon an unsuspecting world! If all this doesn’t put you in the Christmas spirit, perhaps these following Holiday specials will!

Greetings people of today and robots of tomorrow! It is I, Santa Clark, your geeky giraffe friend with a deep love of Christmas! My obsession for the yuletide is rivaled only by Maleficent’s hatred for it, which is saying a lot considering she once teamed up with Mad Madam Mim to kidnap the literal Spirit of Christmas. Yes, that really happened. I know this due to my annual pilgrimage to the Island of Misfit Specials, home to obscure or nerdy festive media ranging from movies, TV episodes, and comics. It’s no easy journey. Constantly I find myself confronted by sinister snowmen, genocidal gingerbread men, and worst of all, crappy commercials. Getting stabbed in the foot by a candy-cane wielding cookie is one thing, but I swear I’ve seen that ad for Wilbur’s White Elephant Gift Emporium more times than I’ve seen Miracle on 34th Street! Sometimes at night I catch myself reciting that jingle. Wilbur’s White Elephant Gift Emporium: Where Christmas meets Convenience! Huh, maybe Maleficent had a point.

Nah, my deep-rooted appreciation for this time of year can weather even the most moronic marketing! It helps that most of the merry media I’ve seen have put me in the perfect Holiday mood! Examples include the time a Ninja Turtle found himself trapped in a truck full of stollen toys, a drunk department store Santa stumbling onto a wish-granting magic bag, Big Bird nearly becoming a popsicle, Gwenpool waking up in a world where Galactus took the place of jolly ol’ Saint Nicholas, a terrifying tree stump trying to slaughter some saps over a stupid ship war, and the year when Death gave the Little Match Girl the greatest gift of all. Needless to say, I thought I had seen it all. That is, until I took my friends on a trip to the Island, tasking them to find me new, strange, seasonal specials to review! Some of them were fair, finding me festive favorites as comforting as coco in front of the fireplace. Others were fiendish, wanting to feed off my misery like Gremlins after midnight. Regardless of how naughty or nice my companions were, I’ve compiled all of their suggestions into a makeshift advent calendar! So stay tuned everyday until Christmas to see how badly my buddies can shred what little sanity I have left.

77 Thoughts While Rewatching Supernatural 11x04: Baby

Let’s gooooooo!

1. There are, thankfully, behind the scenes photos of Jensen in those shorts. But we were robbed of Dean in his “It’s a free bunker” daisy dukes.

2. But the conceit of this episode is so great. I remember watching it for the first time and being floored and how personal it felt.

3.And the little details we see in the car that we know are there. The army man. The initials and the leggos. Just. Ugh. The great thing about having a show run this long is that there’s so much history to draw from.

4. Guitar Man playin.

5. I love that Sam just pitches in with washing Baby. Like it’s a normal thing they do together. Maybe Cas helps sometimes too.

6. And the transition from Dean spraying down the car to the rain. So good. Dangit.

7. It’s 21 hours from Lebanon, Kansas to Oregon. I always forget how long the distances they go are, because the show condenses the drives. But holy fuck that is so long.

8. LOL Sam and his smoothies. “Where’s the rest of the beer?!” Hahahaha it’s such a typical little brother move, and even Sam’s face reads “oh shit big brother mad.”

9. I love how protective they are of Cas. They really do both love him. They want him to heal.

10. Cas just cruising through Netflix. You know that at some point Dean snuck into Sam’s room and fucked with his Netflix algorithm.

11. I love this scene at the Roadhouse. “Actually she never texted me back.” For as handsome and adorable as Dean is, he’s still such a doof, and you know what? Sometimes potential romantic interests just ghost him.

12. The time lapse here is brilliant. It keeps us in the car, but also, like... we don’t need to see them hookin’ up. That’s personal.

13. “Mistakes were made. Mhm.”

14. HOW DID SAM FIT IN THE BACK SEAT WITH THAT WOMAN?! HE IS SO TALL! SHE DOES NOT LOOK SHORT! WHAT THE FUCK IS THE IMPALA A SEX TARDIS?

15. “Don’t Night Moves me.” I love this part. And! Night Moves appears in two of my favorite shows: This, and The OC.

16. And any time we get to hear Dean sing is a great time. He CAN sing. He pretends he can’t for various reasons, but he so can.

17. The montage is great, too, of them in the car. Just livin.

18. Again, having such a long run means we get to see these life moments that are just wonderful. Between the blood and the tragedy. They eat burgers in teh car and sing songs. They drive. 

19. “We got tonight, who needs tomorrow?” I feel like Dean would make a great D and D bard, you know?

20. And this conversation they have about that Apple Pie life is good, too. That Sam would still like it. That’s Dean’s...just not sure it’s for him. He tried it once, and it blew up in his face. Add to that that he has Cas now. So...

21. I need to talk to you about this Judy Collins song. It was, according to Dream!John, one of Mary’s favorite songs, and it just...feels right. One of the only things that bummed me out about The Winchesters was that we didn’t get a callback to this song in the show.

“I would follow him right down The toughest road I know  Someday soon Goin’ with him someday”

22. It’s such a great departure from the harder classic rock that winds up in the show as being very much John’s music. We get something softer that’s Mary’s. Something that maybe the boys took comfort in when their father would put it on, knowing it was something she loved.

23. ROBBIE JUDY COLLINS CALLBACK WHEN! ROBBIE! ROBBIE PLEASE!

24. But also Matt Cohen really is amazing as a younger John Winchester. He really channels Jeffrey Dean Morgan in a tender way here. I love it.

25. Sam’s face. He’s so freaked out. Like.

26. Hey season 11! Before Jared stopped trying and started phoning it in! We love to see it.

27. “When has death ever stopped a Winchester.” oh John. You have no idea.

28. “You played your part.” Poor Sam. John was so checked out. The level of neglect both Sam and Dean suffered is really extreme.

29.The lack of music here with just the sounds of the road and the car is really great here. So tense.

30. Another great conversation between these two. I think because Dean is such a goof sometimes, it’s easy to discount his big brotherness. Sam is constantly playing the straight man. Here, we get to see Dean do some big time big brothering.

31. I love the lighting, here too. It would be easy to have it be super dark, but it’s great that they use street lights to illuminate everything.

32. LOL Dean and Sam keeping secrets. after a while, that was kind of the whole show, wasn’t it? Just Dean and Sam not telling each other shit and hurting each other like dummies.

33. “I read.” HE DOES! Way back in season 4, Sam found a Vonnegut in his bag.

34. There’s a SPN official novel called Nevermore where Dean does not know who Edgar Allen Poe is, and upon reading that I was so much, I never tried to read it again. Fuck you, Dean knows his lit. He plays dumb, he’s not actually dumb.

35. Dean’s dream about John hits me hard now, after The Winchesters season 1 finale, because in that universe that Dean futzed with? That dream could now be a reality.

36. “Perfect landing, Son.”

37. Sam dreaming about Mary is a whole thing, too. Of that person he can’t remember. Ouch.

38. That overhead shot of them is so great. Love it.

39. Werepire! oh Dean.

40. Meatman cometh.

41. The minor freakout over valet parking lol.

43. But also girl me too. Let’s be real, who wouldn’t? It’s a great car. And this is a great moment.

52. I love this fight scene so much. It’s played for laughs and it works so well. It is so gory.

53. “It turns out I did shoot the deputy.” I need you to know that I SCREAMED when he said this, because it’s an add-on from a joke made in SEASON 3. 3! THEY WRAPPED THAT JOKE EIGHT YEARS LATER! Again, it’s the benefits of a show that goes this long.

54. Poor Cas. Just...having to sit on the phone while carnage happens on the other end.

55. The windshield wiper. Dean is so unfazed.

56. Poor cooler. It went from beer and smoothies to a monster head.

57. Again, Dean is so not bothered by any of this. It’s just another day, and it makes it so much funnier. Like he knows it’s gross, but like. It’s just another workday.

58. I’m not sure about these extreme closeups. It’s a lot.

60. Sam getting distracted with the fiirty and Dean getting jumped. Again.

62. They just left that head in the backseat with a woman he thought was like a full blown human. Because they’re that desensitized. Head in a box. “Yeah? And?”

67. Dean’s in a tough spot here, and he’s just rolling his eyes at this monster monologueing. It’s part “Are you fucking kidding me with this shit? I can’t believe I let this happen, why am I so dumb?” and part “Bitch do you know what I am? Get wrecked.”

68. Poor Baby. God she is beat up.

69. this inside/outside the car fight is great too. I love that we don’t need to see like a big full fight scene. It’s so cramped and so cool.

73. Jensen learned that car move on his lunch break. Talented bastard.

77. Truly, one of my all time favorite episodes of this show. Shot so cleverly, with great character moments and glimpse at what’s going on with the larger season-long plot. Love it.

Drama Update

The truth is I have a million things to do. I feel like this semester is either going to end me or I will end it soon. But here I am actively looking for a new drama to binge rather than finding a proponent to fund my organization’s activities; here I am typing this thing rather than the speech I will be doing on Tuesday. It feels like I am deliberately sabotaging my future (Maybe I am.) But I was never good at making the right decisions. So, here we are today.

I’m currently watching 3 dramas. If you’ve scrolled down in my profile, you will find out that those 3 dramas are: Crash Course in Romance, Our Blooming Youth, and The Starry Love. The latter being my new obsession. It’s so funny, I swear. People should give it more hype. I don’t see much people posting about it on Tumblr. It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s been great at making me forget my academic responsibilities (lmao). Although my week is jampacked with dramas (The Starry Love airs two episodes every day except on Fridays and Saturdays. I’m literally watching an episode every single day.), it still feels like it’s not enough. I need to be overwhelmed by the dramas I’m watching. I’ve read some where that reading a book in one sitting was like drinking one whole bottle of wine by yourself. I actually agree and I want to feel like that when I binge-watch a tv show.

I have made attempts. I was in episode 2 of a Thai Drama called My Forever Sunshine when I decided that I actually want to watch a fantasy Cdrama along side The Starry Love. That it is why I stumbled into the rabbit hole of Cdrama edits in Youtube. I ended up watching The Blue Whisper, but like the previous drama I mentioned, I only ended up in episode 2. It’s not bad but I just wasn’t in the mood. 

I was also thinking of finishing dramas, whose episodes I’d missed. Strangers Again ended last Thursday, but I still haven’t gotten around watching the last 8 episodes. I also haven’t finished The Interests of Love. Maybe I’ll get back to them soon or by the end of the year. 

I’m also eyeing on watching The Heavenly Idol and Taxi Driver Season 2 but I’m seriously not in the mood to watch something that’s not yet completed as of the time of writing. 

Right now I’m just craving for a cute romcom to turn my head off for a minute or for like 16 hours. I really really don’t want to face my responsibilities until tomorrow.

Never Idle In The Land Between | 1 Samuel 27:8-9

Waiting doesn’t mean wasting time.

David is currently residing in Philistine territory and the enemy king Achish gave him and his army a city called Ziklag where they resided which was right on the border of Philistine and Israelite territory, and here is what happened in the 16 months they resided here:

But for today, let's dive into 1 Samuel 27:8-9:

Now David and his men went up and made raids against the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites, for these were the inhabitants of the land from of old, as far as Shur, to the land of Egypt. And David would strike the land and would leave neither man nor woman alive, but would take away the sheep, the oxen, the donkeys, the camels, and the garments, and come back to Achish. — 1 Samuel 27:8-9

While David is in the "land between," we learn that he does not just sit idly. He is busy doing what he has always done — engaging his call and God's anointed. He is using his time and skill to fight the enemies of Israel. The Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites were all long-standing enemies of the nation of Isreal that God ordered Israel to devote to destruction, which Saul had not addressed (Deuteronomy 7:1-5; 20:16-18) And there is some violence and gore that might be disturbing here, but you will see tomorrow more detail on why this is.

If you are in a "land between," don't sit around idly. Act in obedience. Take the time to refine your God-given skills and talents and do what you see others are not doing that needs to be done. In the doing, God shapes you and reveals to you what you'll do next.

Spencer's POV

We just got back to Quantico from our last case in Florida.

I pack up my things to go home and Morgan walks over. He asks "Doing anything this weekend?" I answer "Reading Lord Of The Rings, a date, and catching up on my soap shows." Morgan nods and then his jaw drops. He asks "A date? Damn with who pretty boy?" I laugh and answer "A girl from a bookstore." He replies "Don't do anything I would do. Actually scratch that man, do what I would do. Enjoy yourself." Garcia stops by and asks "Enjoy himself? Hey, remember when Reid did his physics magic and it exploded at Hotchner's feet? He was enjoying himself then." We all laugh. Morgan says "He's going on a date." Garcia smiles and hugs me. She says "Omg I can't believe it. Tell me everything." I reply "There's really not much to tell. She was in the fantasy genre section of the bookstore on 5th Street named BooksAMillion. It was actually row 16. I was browsing nearby and I thought she looked pretty. I walked over and we talked about books for a little bit before I asked her out. The bookstore worker wasn't happy about us talking semi-loudly, but I could tell she likes to see a relationship blossom at her store. She let it pass. That's it." Garcia laughs and replies "Of course, you met her at a bookstore and remember exactly where you met. Please invite me to the wedding and the proposal you should have there." I reply "Garcia, I haven't even gone out with her yet." She laughs and replies “You always know when it’s the one.”

Y/N's POV - Next Day!

I'm meeting Dr. Spencer Reid for our date tonight. He's literally the same age as me and has multiple PHD’s. I feel so unaccomplished. It's fine though. After getting a double Master's, I was done with school.

We're going to lunch at some random place he picked then we planned on picking a book out for each other at the bookstore we met at. I think it'll be cute. I'm very excited.

I arrive at the lunch place on time and see Dr. Reid sitting on the bench outside. He sees me, waves, and stands. I walk up and exclaim "Hi Dr. Reid! How are you doing today?" He replies "Please call me Spencer. I've had a good day so far. I finished rereading the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy and started rewatching episodes of my soaps."

We head inside the restaurant and we take a seat at an empty table.

I ask "Finish the trilogy again? Wait did you read all 3 today or just the last one?" He answers "All 3. I can read 20,000 words per minute." I reply "Damn I wish I was you. That would've made school so much easier." He replies "Not for me. I was bullied in school. I reply “I’m sorry to hear that. I’m glad you made it out in one piece.” He smiles and says “Yeah, I made it out one piece physically. My reading speed did help with my 3 BAs and 3 PHDs that my bullies don’t have." I smile and reply "Wow what a flex. I was wondering why you were called a Doctor. Personally, I only got two Master's and then I was done with school." He replies "More than 16 million people have a Master's in the U.S. That is roughly 8% of the population. Did you know that the amount of students in college now who are pursuing their Master's is higher than in the past decade?" I answer "That's so interesting. Huh well, I think it personally helped me get the job I have, which is good."

A waiter walks up and exclaims "Sorry to keep you waiting. I'm Alex. I'll be your server this afternoon. What can I get for both of you to drink?" We both tell him our drink orders then he swiftly returns with drinks. We tell him our food order and he leaves.

I ask "Have you ever been here before?" He shakes his head and answers "My friend, Morgan, told me about it. He goes on a lot of dates. It seemed to have a good selection from the menu, so I'm glad he suggested it." I smile and nod. He asks "Any plans for the rest of the weekend?" I answer "Get some sleep tonight to be ready for the week and maybe bake some kind of bread to eat for breakfast this week." He replies "Oh... According to PubMed, people don't just adjust to a routinely disparate weekday and weekend sleep schedule. You think you do, but you don't. Not to mention, the Journal of Sleep Research says we get about 30 minutes less sleep than we would ideally need on each night of the working week... sorry I got a little carried away there." I smile and reply "No problem at all. It's super interesting. Did any of those articles ever say what to do instead? Because if you aren't catching up with your sleep, then what? He answers "Mainly it said to keep a normal sleep schedule and not to change anything." I reply "Is that cool? Yes. Will I try it? Maybe not. I love not having a healthy sleeping pattern." He laughs.

Food arrives and we eat.

After lunch, we walk down the street to BooksAMillion for the next part of our date.

I ask "So do we have a time limit or book limit or price limit or anything?" He asks "Do you have an idea of what you want to get already?" I nod. He says "Ok so do I. We can do 15 minutes and a 2-book limit." I reply "Deal!"

We separate and I start walking to fantasy. He seems like a Star Trek & adventure-loving guy, so time for my first book. I grab my first book and then head to the nonfiction section for my second one. I pick it up and head to the checkout line. I wait in it and checkout.

As I walk towards the exit, I see Spencer by the entrance holding a bag plus two cups. He hands me one and says "I got you a coffee. You seem like a two-sugar and half-n-half girl to me. I hope you don't mind and I hope I got your order right." I reply "Omg wow yes that is my order. Thanks, Spencer. Shall we?" I motion to the door and he nods.

We leave and head to the park across the street. We sit on a bench and I ask "Who first?" He answers "You seem excited. You start." I smile and say "Ok... here ya go. I shall explain why as soon as you see them." I hand him the bag and he sets his coffee down. He takes the bag and opens it. He pulls out the first one. I exclaim "Ok so my first one. Now based on our one conversation from last time, you gave me Trekkie vibes like you just seem like Star Trek would be your thing. Am I right?" He nods and I continue "Awesomeness wow! So my first one is Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik gives me very much Kathryn Janeway vibes. Ooh I hate that I've said vibes twice in the span of 5 minutes. Ew. Sorry ok so... Kathryn was the first Federation captain to successfully traverse the Delta Quadrant, encountering dozens of new planets and civilizations over the course of seven years. Then in the book, the plot revolves around three amazing women and a stubborn resistance to cultural norms. Have you read it before?" He shakes his head and replies "No I can't say I have. Nice call on Star Trek. So now book 2!" He pulls it out and I exclaim "Ahh ok so book two is The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. I recommend it to so many people because I think there's something in there that will resonate with everybody. It makes you believe in yourself and not feel so uninspired by work. I don't even know if you feel that way, but it's helped me and I thought hey why not?" He replies "Well thank you. I'm sure I'll like it. I'm excited to read them." I smile.

I set my coffee down and he hands me my bag. He picks his coffee back up, sips it, then exclaims "So the first one is a classic, so I really hope you haven't read it yet. The Once And Future King by T.H. White is a retelling of King Arthur and his life. The book is divided into four parts, which are The Sword in the Stone detailing the youth of Arthur. Then, The Queen of Air and Darkness was published separately in a somewhat different form as The Witch in the Wood. Next is The Ill-Made Knight (1940), dealing mainly with the character of Lancelot. Lastly is The Candle in the Wind. I hope you like it as much as I do. My second book is quite the craze among people at the moment. It is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. It was originally written in Portuguese, but I picked the English version for you. It follows a young Andalusian shepherd on his journey to the pyramids of Egypt, after having a recurring dream of finding a treasure there. I hope you like them." I smile and reply "I'm excited to read them. Thank you so much, Spencer." His phone rings and he says "Oh... one minute." He walks off with his phone.

Spencer shortly returns and says "This was a fun date. Thank you for coming. I hope we can do this again. Unfortunately, I have to head to work." I reply "Aww yeah I had fun too. This was a great date! Well, I guess I'll see ya Spencer!" He grabs his bag and coffee then he leans forward to kiss me on the cheek. He says "Bye Y/N." I wave bye and he walks off.

I head home right after to start reading my books.

Spencer's POV

On the jet, I pull out my books and set them on the table. Morgan asks "You got new books? What about that date? Did you miss it?" I answer "No. In fact, she picked these books out for me. One was because she guessed I was a Star Trek fan and one was to inspire me plus it's one of her favorite books. I gave her The Once And Future King plus The Alchemist." He laughs and replies "Nerds. Geez. So you had fun?" I answer "Technically fun is enjoyment, amusement, or lighthearted pleasure. I have fun all the time. If you mean, do I think we'll go on another date? I kissed her on the cheek and she let me ramble. I'd say yes." He laughs.

Chapter summery: The team gets closer to the replicator, or at least, they think they do. The cup as finally overflowed.

AN: Sorry this took so long, I was almost finished with it and then I got sick :(. Anyway, I've finally finished, and hopefully I can get the next two chapters done an out tomorrow so I can be back on schedule.

The sound of your alarm wakes you from your dream state. You reach over to the night stand on your side, silencing your phone. Aaron protests your movements, dragging you back into his embrace.

“Aaron I have to go.” You tell him softly, trying to pry his arms from around your waist.

He just tightens his hold on you, “Why,” He whines, “We still have an hour until we need to get ready.”

“Because I’ve stayed here for 2 weeks now and I have officially ran out of clean clothes as of yesterday.” You tell him, finally breaking free, “I need to go back to my apartment.”

He sits up, watching you move around his room as you gather your scattered clothes from last night, “Will you come back here tonight? Granted we don’t have a case.”

“14 days in a row not enough for you.” You joke, throwing on one of his hoodies you stole. It smells of his cologne, putting you at ease this morning.

“No.”

You send him a wondering look, “What? What do you mean no?”

Aaron rubs the rest of sleep out of his eyes, standing up to grab some clothes for himself, “I mean,” He tells you, walking closer once he has boxers on, “I don’t like it when you aren’t here all the time.”

“Well,” You nod, not entirely following along,” as sweet as that is, I’m paying for an apartment every month, I should probably use it.”

Aaron pulls you into him, “Well,” He drags out the word, slightly mocking you, “What if you paid for this apartment instead?”

Oh.

That’s… hmmm.

“You want me to pay your rent for you?” You tease him.

“He raises an eyebrow at you, too tired for your antics, “You know what I mean.”

“I do.” You tell him softly, looking at him tentatively, “Can I think about it.”

He is very good at hiding his mild disappointment, sending you a comforting smile, “Of course you can.” Kissing your forehead, “As long as you need.”

You look up from your desk later that day, when Garcia comes into the bullpen, holding a big bouquet of flowers and walking over to JJ’s desk, “Guess what just came to the reception desk for an agent Jennifer Jareau.”

You stand up to walk over to her and Reid, as she laughs softly, “From who?”

“They must be from Will.” Garcia says like it’s obvious, “Or someone’s got some ‘splanin to do.”

“Just wills not really a flower bouquet type of guy.”

You point to the card, “See what changed his mind then.”

You watch as she pulls the note out of the small envelope, her face dropping as she reads it, “Zugzwang.”

You share a look with Garcia, Reid grabbing the card from JJ, “What? Let me see that.”

“Isn’t that what Diana Turner said to you-“

You’re cut off from Reid finishing your question, “Before she killed Maeve.”

“But Diana’s dead so who sent it?” Garcia asks breathlessly.

The four of you go and inform the team of what has transpired, then informing Erin Strauss of everything revolving the replicator case that you have.

You are being followed. The team is being followed. Aaron informs everyone that he’s posting security details at each of your homes, but the sick feeling that you’ve been watched without your knowing won’t go away.

You’re drawn away from the last replicator crime scene when Garcia speaks up, “Uh, sir, Philadelphia P.D. Just uploaded a homicide to Vicap. An unidentified woman was found this morning, with her eyelids removed.”

“Just like our blood artist Bryan Hughes.” Derek says.

“That’s also where the Flowers came from.” You state.

“Jet’s standing by. Wheels up in 20.” He announces to the team, gathering his things like the rest of you.

He calls your name before you can leave the room, “Can I speak to you for a moment in my office?”

You feel some of the team watching you, but you just nod, letting him out the door first as you follow him.

When you get to his office, he sets his things down in a chair in front of his desk, before sighing and turning towards you, “I know I said you could think about the offer from this morning, as long as you would like.” He places his hands on his hips, looking away from a moment, then back to you, “But I need to know if I should send security detail to your apartment or not.”

So much for having time.

Not his fault.

Not mine either.

You breathe out of your nose heavily, dropping you head down and covering your face with your hands, letting out a groan.

“I’m sorry, I’m not trying to pressure-“

“I know.” You look back up at him, stopping him from feeling guilty about the situation, “I don’t think I would get much sleep alone now anyway.” You say, trying to lighten the mood.

He nods, still not sure. You walk up to him and run your hands up and down his arms, “Aaron I was probably going to say yes in a few days anyway.”

“Probably?” He questions you.

“I was going to say yes.” You roll your eyes, “I just didn’t want to jump into it without properly thinking it through.”

Aaron seems to relax a little, leaning down to kiss your cheek, “Okay.” He whispers, eyes closing briefly, “Thank you.”

You smile up at him, hands going down his arms to grab his own, “Don’t thank me yet, I’m going to need you to do some laundry later.”

He laughs lightly, “With pleasure.”

You squeeze his hands one more time, before turning leaving to grab your things at your desk.

Well, one problem solved. Too bad it was the easiest one.

Landing in Philadelphia, You, Morgan, and Reid go to the latest crime scene, a detective spots you as you cross the police tape, “Wow, excuse me. Can I help you?”

Derek shows him his badge, “I’m Agent Morgan.” Before introducing you and Reid.

“Feds?” The detective questions you, “What are you doing here?”

“Assisting the investigation.” Morgan states the obvious.

“Well, no one told me.” The detective shakes his head.

“Someone probably just forgot to make a phone call.” You try to reason with him. For whatever reason, he does not like the three of you here. “Just an oversight I’m sure.”

“Would you kind showing us the victim?” Reid asks.

The detective hesitates for just a moment, before turning around, “Yeah, right this way.”

You share a look with Morgan and Reid before following, “Is there anything you can tell us about her?”

“Her name was Sandy Larson. Went missing two days ago. She’s a retired widow with six grandkids.”

“Any idea where she was last seen?” Derek questions.

“Found her car at a drugstore across town. Apparently she fills a perception every Wednesday morning.”

The lead detective hates the team. The brass wants the team off the case. The attorney general wants you all replaced. AND a picture of your boyfriend taken by the replicator was found at the last crime scene.

Yeah, not having a great time.

Also Erin Strauss is being weird and Rossi talked to her as if she couldn’t fire him on the spot.

“Do you really think they’d replace us?” JJ asks.

“Sounds like they’d have to kill Strauss first.” Rossi answers, looking over at Aaron who was seated at the other end of the table, “And I doubt if that’s as easy as it sounds.”

“All right, so what do we know?” Aaron brings the attention to Reid. Who was studying the picture found with the body, “This photo isn’t digital. It was printed on real chromogenic photo paper.”

“So he’s old school.” You state.

Blake nods, “We’re still trying to ascertain when the photo was taken.”

Aaron’s phone rings, he answers, “Garcia, I’m putting you on speaker.”

“You guys, there are a shocking number of weirdos out there who have a thing for nurses.” Her voice comes through the phone, “But I got a giant hit. 15 years ago the BAU had a case in Pittsburg, involving the stabbing murders of 4 nurses.”

“That’s close enough to be related.” You speak up.

“That rings a bell.” Rossi tells the table, pondering look on his face, “But I didn’t work that case, Gideon did.”

“It ended relatively well.” Garcia goes on, “The killer was caught, and we managed to save one of his would be victims.”

“Garcia, what happened to Kemper?”

“He died, 5 months ago from lethal injection.”

“What if that was the trigger.” Reid theorizes, “The silencer copycat murder happened 5 months ago.”

Bidwell, the current unsub for being the replicator, overdosed on his medication after he made his phone call in holding. His body language was all over the place, and he only confessed to the 3 murders in Philadelphia, not the other copycat ones.

You and the rest of the team are in the local PD’s confer room when Reid and Aaron walk through the door, joining you, “I just talked to Strauss, she wants an update. What happened?”

“Bidwell died en route to the hospital.” Derek tells him.

“It’s bizarre. If he wanted payback, why would he kill himself?” Blake questions.

“Maybe this is his version of payback.” Reid considers, “If he takes his own life we can’t put him in prison.”

Rossi however, doesn’t agree, “But his body language- you should have seen it. When JJ mentioned the copycat murders, he had no idea what she was talking about.”

“He did it after his phone call, maybe that made him change his plan.” You think out loud.

“Local police traced the number.” Derek sighs, “It was a prepaid cell that went dead right after Bidwell’s call.”

“A partner?” Aaron raises his eyebrow.

Rossi shakes his head, “He didn’t know about the other copycat murders. He wouldn’t be someone’s partner.”

“He’d be their pawn.” You finish for him.

Sitting on the jet, headed to Pittsburg, Aaron goes over the plan with everyone for when you land. Swat will be waiting for you, along with the local P.D. You all make it off the plane, headed straight to the SUV, Garcia over the bluetooth telling everyone where to go.

“Guy’s I don’t like this, it seems like we are going exactly where he wants us to.” Derek tells everyone, speaking the thought that everyone else has.

When you all pull up to the warehouse, the head of swat comes over, talking to Aaron, “The snipers are set and all the exits are covered.”

“Air support?” Aaron asks him.

“Choppers are standing by.”

“We’ll enter from two sides.” Aaron tells the team, pulling out his tablet and showing the floor plans to Derek, who will be running the other point, “You’ll go through this side, we’ll come through this way.”

“Alright guys,” Derek turns to the swat that will follow your side in, “I need you to stay tight and keep alert.”

They all nod, tightening their vests, “This man has a vendetta against us. This could be a trap.” You tell them, voice hard.

The head of swat looks at his team, “Alright gents, lets move out.”

Your team splits up, getting into position. You go with Derek and Reid, following behind them and entering the building, turning left. You shine your light as you walk through the hallways, making sure the area is clear. You all come to a sliding door, and after making sure it’s clear, the swat slides the door open, letting the team into the room where music is playing.

The rest of the team enters at the same time as you from the other side, everyones lights flashing around. Aaron goes up to the girl in the middle of the room, checking for a pulse, “She’s gone.”

You walk around, looking at the pictures that are up on the wall, the pictures of the team on cases. Off cases. Pictures of you outside your apartment. Your breathing starts becoming erratic when you get to a wall where several pictures of you and Aaron hang. Pictures of you both laughing at dinner, or running in the park, or kissing in his car. In every picture, your face has a big red X on it. Your relationship is out there. Your lives are being targeted.

Your head stars spinning, and you feel like you’re going to throw up, when Aaron comes up behind you, seeing the same thing you did. How long has he been following all of you, watching you without you knowing? How much does he know about your lives? Aaron pulls you into his chest, letting you breakdown, whispering in your ear, though you can’t hear anything he’s saying, too far into your own head.

The threat is clear, he’s coming after the team, coming after you. The team gathers around you and Aaron, trying to comfort you while also trying to not break down themselves. Looking at all the pictures on the wall. How could we not know?

The glass has finally overflowed, and now it’s cracking.

Personal Highlights of the Episode

The shark scene with Nora screaming, the music, everyone’s reactions… chills. I can’t wait til we see the full thing in season two. The acting will be phenomenal, I’m sure.

Shelby talking out her feelings with Toni instead of letting it eat her up and cause another breakdown. That’s growth. It’s teeny-tiny, but it’s still growth.

Things I Didn't Catch the First Time

I 100% do not remember this opening sequence with seeing Nora acting as the operative during from day one until now. Wtf was I doing when I watched this the first time? (All cap texts stress me the fuck out)

“You were RIGHT.” Double meaning? Was Shelby giving Leah directions to take when she got out of her room? Why was that one word the only one in all caps and underlined? It can’t be a coincidence that Shelby goes into anaphylactic shock the same moment that Leah escapes her room.

Who just lets a drink fizz on their floor? Not even one, but three!

Observations / Theories / Questions

“Lord, you’re like beyond calm right now.” Shelbs, honey, that’s what happens after you get laid.

Finding out Leah is a slob while drunk just wants me to see video evidence of that. Like I want to see all the girls get drunk af together in a normal situation and not while stranded on an island.

Quinn and Nora were so damn cute and awkward, it was just perfect. It’s so tragic what happened. He tried so hard to impress Rachel too, and like, impressing a sibling is the hardest job in the world I think. And it’s so realistic for Nora to really hone in on what Rachel said and let that impact her relationship with Quinn, whether it be intentional or not. A sibling bond can run so deep sometimes.

I can never really tell when Gretchen is being manipulative or genuine. Was she scouting Nora before the jail visit? Did she know shortly after talking to her there that she wanted her for the experiment which is why the pancake offer was on given? Did Nora even bring Rachel up beforehand and if not, how would Gretchen know Nora had a sister?

If Nora actually succeeded in making Leah disappear, who do you think would have reacted the worst in the group about her disappearance?

Clearly Shelby has a thing for Tony/i’s: Tony Romo and Toni Shalifoe. Can’t be just a coincidence.

Field Notes

Field Note #121 — Shelby’s cross necklace was a gift from her mom on the day of her baptism. Shelby was baptized at 14 years old—a full immersion baptism, in front of her whole church.

Field Note #122 — This is the second time we’ve seen Dot trying to hit something, only to miss her mark. Her aim really is piss-poor. Potentially related fact: Dot has never had an eye exam in her entire life.

Field Note #123 — As fraternal twins, Nora and Rachel have pretty different proportions. With the exception of their feet. They both wear a size 8 ½.

Field Note #125 — Nora has never not been shy among strangers. She doesn’t even like to ask for refills at restaurants—she usually asks Rachel to do it for her.
