I just adore them and now they're back on equal footing. Well, equal footing in that Sean is absolutely desperately keen for Shao Peng to be around and Shao Peng is becoming increasingly fond of him.

Now we need cuddling!

Okay, I expect a marriage proposal that brings this apology full circle in their relationship by the end.

That was just the most perfect response to that face ever. My love for Sean goes on and on and on and Shao Peng is adorable and knows exactly what he deserves and it is this adorable sad little rich boy who sleeps in dressers and just wants to make art.

Height differences my beloved and also kneeling my beloved. Oh, this little sad boy and his unloving family and his desperate need to be cared about and seen and loved

And then them sitting together to really communicate and talk to each other and see each other and be seen and they are the sweetest boys in all the land already and they're not even dating yet.

Shao Peng revealing that as he's gotten to know them better he's gotten better and better at reading their lips is adorable but he also prefers to rely on writing because it's clearer and he even explains he only gets most of it? Absolutely perfect. I just want the sign language learning to begin soon because that is gonna be the best.

Boys finding ways to communicate clearly when they both struggle with feeling understood and heard in different situations is always beautiful. Shao Peng has always been heard and loved at home but struggled with the rest of the world while Sean feels invisible and unimportant and unable to be himself in any way when he's with family and now they have someone who can help them and care for them and love them in a whole new capacity.

I adore them both so much.

And they're so sweet together. Sean is so desperate for someone to love him and care about him and he needs Shao Peng because he was the first person who took the time to see him while Shao Peng has been hunting for a job and Sean is the first person who hired him but also the first person who truly saw how good he was at his job, how talented he was and how able he was to do his work and to take the best care possible.

And they are gonna fall into the sweetest but messiest little love story because there's so many layers to their relationship already but also because, you know, someone is trying to kill Sean.

This boy is a baby. My tiny poor little rich boy who has nothing has never been loved or seen and felt that way for just one brief second and is now just falling apart at the concept of losing that, of that brief moment of connection he experienced that shook him to his core.

Sean staring at the ears that can't hear him but the man who found him in his most desperate moment and that's the same hand that will spell words into Shao Peng's hand in a bid for a connection he's never felt and the same hands that will press together to beg for him to come back but right now his lips are touching his temple and he is being carried and he is safe and that is something he doesn't know how to accept but knows he wants to accept.

The reflections and the softness and the realizations and the way Sean sleeps in his furniture and the little smiles and the way Shao Peng's face falls and the way he checks him so gently and the way we keep seeing both of them in the mirror together and apart and this is the first time someone has ever shown Sean they care and he slept but he knows. Oh, he knows.

And he closes him back in. He shuts Sean back in and then walks away and then resigns and Shao Peng cannot hear but he knows how listen and how to observe and he can change the world.

Them in the rain! Sean holding the hoodie open over both of them! Shao Peng realizing what he was doing! The softness of carrying him all the way home and then setting him on the bed and taking care of him but also just this moment in which Sean got to protect Shao Peng for just a moment, to keep him dry, to be the one to do something and not just someone running away from everything.

I really love that the instant Shao Peng realizes he's being used for his disability he quits. Because he wants a job because he earned his job. He doesn't want a job because he's Deaf, whether it's out of pity or being used or through his parents. He wants a job because he is perfectly capable of doing a job. The only thing he can't do is hear and the show is very clear that his disability truly is centered of society's judgement of his disability.

(That's why the first communication between them being spelling his hand being the most important communication rather than just using the phone and how the impersonal nature of communicating through the phone's translation is replaced with sign and gesture and touch as they get closer and as people understand him better.)

This boy is the poorest little rich boy and he breaks my entire heart. And then the sequence of everyone turning their back on him and simply not listening to anything he wants to say? No wonder he's shut down so thoroughly.

And he was found by the one person who truly can't hear him but will listen to him if he just tries to communicate or open up. The one person who might not be able to hear him but can take the time and effort to understand him if he just lets him.

Honestly, this is both adorable and heartbreaking and when he closes him back up inside to let him sleep? Also adorable. Boy literally sleeps in his dresser all curled up and soft and comfortable but that's quite a coping mechanism, honestly, to sleep like that.

Luckily, Shao Peng does not judge anyone nor anything, at least not for this. He will judge the shit out of you for taking advantage of his disability, though.
