Without a second thought, Linus reached up and cupped Arthur’s face. His skin was hot, but Linus wasn’t afraid of being singed and blackened. Arthur would never allow it. The fire tickled against the backs of his hands. “There, there,” Linus said quietly. “That’s enough of that, I think. You’ve made your point quite well.”  - The House in the Cerulean Sea
I love a good desperate face grab - some excellent face holding in this book!

I reach out to you with a heart heavy with grief and fear. In the chaos of Gaza, my family faces an unspeakable tragedy after the loss of my father and my elder brother. Each day feels more treacherous than the last, and we are desperate to escape the looming danger. Your compassionate assistance is our only hope to evacuate my mother and siblings to safety. Your kindness, no matter its size, carries the promise of a lifeline in our darkest hour. Please, may your heart guide you to help us in our time of need.
Attention: This is a scam blog.
There is only one post on their blog, made 12 hours ago, by them. There is no proof of their identity or personal pictures that support their claim of being a Palestinian in need on that post.
The ask above has been copied and pasted from other asks by different blog names with the same profile picture. You can copy and paste this ask copypasta into google with quotation marks around the search words and see several tumblr blogs posting this ask thinking that it is legit.
The blog name in my ask above is nearly identical to a previously identified scam blogger (clonnekomen). And literally has "clone" in these usernames, cmon man.
Be vigilant! Look out for these common patterns that scam blogs use. Do NOT post these asks unless you are 100% CERTAIN that their donation links are ACTUALLY going to a real person in need!

Mermaid!AU where as a boy Fingon saves a wounded merman with long red hair who was beached and tangled in a net. He helps free the merman and return him to the sea, and as thanks he gives him a golden ribbon that has some of his brilliant red scales dangling from the end.
Fingon takes that ribbon and hides it, not wanting to share his merman with anyone else, and as he ages he would have thought the encounter was a dream if not for that ribbon.
One night, on his 25th birthday, he wears that ribbon in his hair, and he and his siblings and cousins go sailing around the islands that make up their home in celebration. The party is loud and joyful and the fireworks over the ocean are brilliant. Except something goes wrong and suddenly, the boat has caught fire.
Fingon, as the eldest, makes sure all his siblings and cousins are on a row boat and safely away from the blaze, but before he can jump overboard to swim to one, a piece of the mast falls and hits him in the head right before he jumps. Fingon slips into the ocean, unconscious as his family screams for him.
Unknown to the humans above, King Feanaro's seven sons circle underneath. Celegorm and his pet shark are more than happy to feast on the unlucky sailors in this shipwreck, Maglor prepares a sirens song to lure those in the row boats into the depths, while Caranthir, Curufin, and Ambarussa wait to loot the sucken vessel.
Maedhros, the eldest of the sons and crown prince of the seven seas, is the first to see Fingon in the water. At first, he is entranced by the beauty of the drowning human, how the fire light overhead dances across his unconscious face. Maedhros swims closer, and his silver eyes widen when he sees his ribbon and scales in the hair of this unconscious man, the very gift he gave away years ago to a young boy that saves his life. A boy that must have grown up into a man since then. This man.
Maedhros calls off his brothers, sends them back home as he drags the mortal back up to the surface. The least he can do for the man's valiant efforts is to repay them. He sings as he swims, urging thr waves to help the swiftly reach the shore, to take them for enough out that he won't be washed back in with the tide.
On the sandy beach, Maedhros looks down at the mortal man and feels something in his very soul sing out. He is no singer, not like his younger brother Maglor, but he is a merman and does have the ability to attempt to put that feeling into song. As he sings to this man, coaxing the water out of his lungs and to heal the wounds on his head, Fingon wakes a little.
Fingon hears the most enchanting voice as he comes back to wakefulness. His eyes are bleary with salt water when he tries to open them, but he sees red hair and glowing grey eyes and his heart swells. He almost forgot those features, hazy like a long forgot dream that they are. Weakly, he reaches up to brush a red strand away from sharp cheekbones. He hums along so the melody that is imprinting itself into his heart, not aware that the same is happening to the merman above him.
Hearing him sing, it unlocks something is Maedhros, something he didn't know he was missing. Impulsively, he bends down, breathing in the same air as this mortal, his mortal, and pressea his forehead against the brown skin under him. Nothing but breath and Song and the waves lapping at the shore.
Then, shouts in the distance. Voices calling out a name. "Fingon!" They cry.
The man, Fingon, Maedhros knows now, just blinks. Brought back to reality with the sound of his brothers and sister's frantic calling. Between one blink and the next, the being above him is gone, a splash the only signal of where he disappeared too.
Fingon scrambles to sit up, hoping to catch another glimpse. In the distance, highlighted by the red dawn rising, a flash of red scales glint before they vanish below the waves.

what meme do you think deserves to forever be ingrained in the subconscious of every single human being and never die
Hey tin!!!
That’s a great question. You know I love me a meme… but after careful consideration I’d have to say the fish with the cowboy hat saying “sea-haw m’lady”
Every single version had me dying and I loved how long it stayed around.

Floyd and Yuu at the beach enjoying a nice sweet treat and a sea gull tries to steal Yuu’s ice cream, but Floyd grabs it by the neck and says “not today”
Random ass fuck yeah but he would 100% not let a seagull or pelican even try. Florida man vibes with him
The seagull came out of nowhere, you think it was perched on the armada you two were sitting under, waiting for you to look away so it would swipe your ice cream cone right from your hands.
And it did, swooping down to snatch the top of your treat with its large beak and fly off. You're sure that was the plan, until a large hand reached out, reacting before you even processes what was happening.
Floyd wrapped his fingers around the seagull's neck, a soft, strained 'honk' leaving its throat as he squeezed.
“Annoyin' ass, get outta here!” Floyd grumbled as he wound up his arm and launched the seagull across the beach like a pitcher with his baseball.
You think you hear him say 'yeet', but were mostly distracted by the distancing shriek of the poor bird as it splashed into the water a few meters away. You'd be impressed, but your ice cream was still in its mouth when Floyd threw it.
“Aw Floyd, it still had my ice cream…” you clicked your tongue, a bit disappointed. You made a noise of surprise as his right arm, the one holding his ice cream sundae, wrapped around your shoulders and pulled you into his side.
“Aww, that's okay~ You can have some of mine!” Floyd's left hand was holding his spoon as he reached over to get a scoop.
You perked up, watching him bring the scoop to your lips, as you closed your eyes and opened your mouth, waiting for the sweet treat to hit your taste buds.
You choose to ignore Floyd's little hum and giggle as he fed you. It was a nice flavor, though you weren't sure how Floyd could handle all of the various textures from the numerous toppings he put on.
“Mmh, it's good!”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
Floyd hummed, sticking the spoon into the top of his sundae, and reaching over to squeeze your cheeks.
“An' now, you owe me for eating some of my ice cream!” Floyd cackled at the glare you gave him.
“You offered!” you retaliated, your words slurring as he squished your cheeks further.
“And you too it. Now what should I take as payment?” Floyd hemmed and hawed, tapping a finger against your cheek as he pretended to think.
“How 'bout a kiss from my little mate? Huh? Come on~ Pucker up!”
Floyd made kissy noises as he waited for you to give him the go ahead, the sounds getting louder and more dramatic, almost comical.
“Oh my god, come here you big dummy!” You laughed, wrapping your arms around his shoulders and bringing him down to share a kiss.
You could feel his lips turn up against yours, and taste the sweet banana flavored ice cream against his tongue.
“Hmm…I think I like how the ice cream taste better on you~” Floyd purred, reaching over to grab another scoop and press it to your lips. “Come on, take another bite and gimme another kiss! They're extra sweet from you~”
You snorted and rolled your eyes, though you were still smiling.
“You're cheesy.”
“And you love it.”
“Hmm, only cause I love you~”

I didn't realize up until 3 days ago that you had updated Merry Crisis. I played the demo very late at night and I felt such a strong feeling of melancholy and longing when reading the scenes between MC and their family members. The messy drama with the aunts and the uncles... The endless boredom shared between all older cousins... The bittersweet memories when remembering departed grandparents... The sibling rivalry when playing any type of games... "Don't forget the taste of your mother's soup". God. I might have shed a tear or two. More than the romances (who are actually great, don't get me wrong), I fell in love with the way you write about the MC's family and culture. There are many things about them I could never truly understand ; I'm not Singaporean, nor Chinese, or even American, and I never lived in either of the places the MC spent most of their life. Culturally speaking, we have nothing in common. But there were so many moments where I saw parts of myself reflected in that young adult struggling with conflicting aspects of their identity, especially when it comes to feeling torn between different places, feeling like a stranger no matter where you are, and being queer while fearing coming out to your parents. What struck me the hardest was when the MC thought their grandmother would have gotten along with Nat, even though they don't know how she would have reacted to their partner being the same gender as them... So, thank you for that. Anyways, this isn't really why I'm sending you this ask. There were heavy rain falls where I live yesterday night, and a part of my basement got flooded. I had to throw a lot of things away, including many childhood drawings and family pictures. Some of my dad's old stuff got pretty soaked as well, but his vintage ViewMaster 3D collection miraculously didn't suffer too much damage. I was drying them up as best as I could, before coming to a stop. There were a few slides of Singapore lost among the countless others of European and American cities, dating back from 1957. It reminded me of you, probably because your story was still so fresh on my mind, and I thought I'd share a few of my favorites with you. I'm sorry for the horrible quality, though. They are pretty old and my phone doesn't take very good pictures.
Tumblr media
Thank you for your stories. Happy holidays to you and your loved ones, I wish you all the best.
This message struck me really deeply, so thank you so much for sharing this with me. It makes me so incredibly moved when merry crisis reaches across time and space and ends up resonating with someone from a completely different culture/place -- makes me think about just how many experiences are shared in the most unlikely ways.
I'm sorry to hear the flooding but wow it sounds like you uncovered a lot of real gems. Thank you so much for sharing them with me! The one in the top left made me think about my grandma who says back in the day, my old house used to overlook the sea (kinda like those shophouses in the picture) -- until Singapore reclaimed land and pushed the coast much further south. And the other one, in the bottom left of Haw Par Villa reminds me of the time I went to there with my family (this is a little creepy Chinese place with scary statues and an awesome exhibit of the "ten courts of hell") and there was one statue of what happens when you talk back to your older siblings and my younger brother and I had a good laugh over that (you get boiled alive in lava or something equally horrifying).
Anyway, your message was so special to me. Receiving things like this make me so motivated to write!!
Happy holidays to you too!! <3

Hello, hello, hello! Thank you very much for running this library! Please, can you recommend any fics in which Aziraphale and Crowley have moved to South Downs, and Aziraphale decides he'd like to be more than just platonic life partners and sets out to seduce Crowley?
Hi! Here are some getting together South Downs cottage fics...
Cottage Cornered by katiemariie (M)
Crowley buys them a cottage on the South Downs. Aziraphale hates it. A fic for anyone who's thought, "Maybe a Soho snob *wouldn't* go for cottagecore."
rip out the wings of a butterfly by Sway (T)
Wood scratches over marble as Crowley slides something across the countertop. “What is this?” Aziraphale swallows. Before him sits a wooden box. A box he’s kept secret. For a lot of very good reasons. They've moved to the South Downs a year ago. And for a year, Aziraphale has been keeping secrets from Crowley. Secrets that unravel when Crowley comes across a box of photographs and that threaten the fragile life they've built for themselves.
The House That Breathes by angelsnuffbox (T)
In the aftermath of the failed Apocalypse, Aziraphale finds there are unseen scars that would never quite wash off. Rather, they linger like scent to skin, markings indelible. Seeing no other solution, he moves to a cottage in the countryside in an attempt to recover. But there’s something not quite right about it, something that he can’t seem to fix. Above all, there’s also something missing, in the form of a beloved demon he’s had to leave behind.
One Hundred Days by Lady of Prompts (G)
They should have discussed it more. Wasn’t that what humans did? Spend weeks and months talking about what sort of home they want, what sort of life, dreaming of what moving in together will be like. Making sure their dreams matched up, their expectations. They didn’t buy cottages – in the middle of a forest, no less, half a mile from the nearest village – without considering questions of…of hobbies, and use of space and…and living arrangements. They certainly didn’t take such a step without…defining their relationships. -- Aziraphale only begins to consider the implications of *moving in together* after they've already done it.
Of Broccoli and Roses (And Other Domestic Pursuits) by megzseattle, Zeckarin (G)
Our overly-accommodating heroes, each hamstrung by a complete lack of ability to communicate their feelings, hem and haw around the edges of their mutual attraction in the days after the failed apocalypse, and end up making a move that neither of them is quite prepared for. As you might surmise, things go a bit pear-shaped. Lucky they have an ace or two up their sleeves.
to the lonely sea and sky by theineffableprofessor (NR)
Aziraphale is like the sea, endlessly and unfathomably beautiful. Crowley knows he is loved. His angel loves everything. Selfishly, though, he dreams of his utter adoration being returned. Hope grows like bougainvillea. It just needs a bit of salt air to bloom.

Emet-Selch loved his friends so much that when Azem didn't return and Hythlodaeus left him behind, this man went on a thousand, thousand lifetime crusade to get them back and the moment he even had a fraction of Azem in front of it, he threw the entirety of the Ascian's plan out of the window and put his backing behind the Warrior of Light. Despite his heeming and hawing on Mt. Gulg about how were such a disappointment and he would of just killed us anyway, dude straight up STILL tells us where to find him and offers an invitation that will DEFINITELY put us into contact with the Shade of Hythlodaeus. And the man had some of THE BEST Soulsight ever, if Hythlodaeus could make out Ardbert's shade so could Emet-Selch. Emet-Selch could of stopped us from fusing and curing us of the light poisoning but he didn't. In fact, he didn't know what would happen and his mask slips a bit when he sees the shade of Azem for the first time since Azem abandoned the Convocation over their plan to sacrifice to summon Zodiark. Its like if you caught a glimpse of a dead family member or a friend in a crowd of people while out and about. But when you turn them around they're just someone who looks and acts similarly. Its no wonder Emet shouted in disbelief of Azem's appearance before realizing that it wasn't their full return, they are still fragmented and beyond their reach. "Just, a trick of the light...you are nothing but a broken husk!" He convinces himself and does battle with us and when we are the victor after he throws his all at us, he gives us the memory of his people. OUR people. And fades away. All the destruction he caused through all the shards calamitied into the Source and the people of Eorzea as the founding emperor of Garlemald are inobtainable. At this point, there is no getting vengeance to our characters for the Ascian's machinations. Ishikawa closes off the path of razing Garlemald to the ground and opens up the path to save Emet's remaining people instead. It is not a perfect solution but it is the one she put forth. And so we're told to remember that the Amaurotines once lived and fades away leaving the task of Elidibus to the Shade of Hythlodaeus handing off our birthright and us to sort out once and for all. And as if, we could think he holds any negative emotions towards us personally and it wasn't just bluster? He WILLINGLY joins Hythlodaeus in being summoned to Ultima Thule. He makes it clear, he doesn't regret any of his actions. I mean...why would he? At long last, at journey's end. He is united with Azem and Hythlodaeus to bring forth hope and open a path for us to defeat Meteion's despair once and for all. And he could of just told us his ideals were invincible but he instead offers us paths to the future, places to visit, people to see. Let us travel as Azem once did. The last remaining seat of the Convocation to shepherd the star before he drifts back to the aetherial sea. One last time, he cranes his neck and offers us his sincerest smile to see us off on our next adventure.
