He insists on never looking at the wiki so it takes him a minute to finish the community center and build relationships but he feels its better that way.

Even if they aren’t profitable, he gets every animal and crop, just to make it a true farm.

The Mod Lover

Uses those mods that make everything pretty, the portrait mods (,the sexual mods.)

Genuinely does not dig in the trashcans because its gross, also super hesitant to go into the sewers.

Tries to date all the bachelors and bachelorettes and gets that cutscene

If he had to chose a romance option he’d chose Haley or Alex, maybe Elliot.

funniest thing thats ever happened to me after getting the free love mod for sdv is that i married claire romantically then shane platonically (i also have a mod for that) and bc of that specific order claire asks my (male) farmer to adopt children instead of having biological ones.

My partner refuses to even demo coral island cuz it looks so Disney with the art style 😂 but yeah, sdv you can change your binary gender whenever, you can be queer, and it came out in 2016 which was crazy by game standards at the time.

Would I love nb options? Yes

Is it literally a game that ran so others like it could walk? COUGH COUGH *coral island* COUGH COUGH, yes!

Also Eric talked with LGBT fans when making the game and made it so you can have same-sex relationships which was a huge difference between sdv and harvest moon which inspired Eric in the first place

There's literally a magic altar where you can change your avatar's gender in the wizard's basement but even disregarding that....

ok so fair warning, i'm not very into sam bc he seems a little immature for me but he's really sweet, he's like a nice alex (sorry alex stans) and i'm here for it! another note: i'm not nb so it's not very long or in-depth, i'm sorry ;((

when he first met you, he wasn't sure if you were a boy or a girl. you know those attractive people with androgynous features? exactly that. you introduced yourself and he had blurted out the question: so are you a boy or a girl?  you laughed and said neither and told him about your pronouns. he doesn't question it-- it's not too unlike those days when abigail refuses to be referred to as a girl.

sam really doesn't give a damn about gender-- do what you like! what he does give a damn about is whether you're into music or skateboarding. and what you liked to do when you used to live in Zuzu City, too. that's what matters to him :)

if anyone ever questions you going well, what's in your pants? sam interrupts by pulling out two drumsticks from his giant ass pants pockets and glowering at the stranger before dragging you away. he knows you hate fights and more so fights about the spectrum.

dating him is a joy, honestly. for one, he thinks you always look good regardless of your outfit or the dirt on your face or the hay in your hair. it's all teasing kisses and lighthearted jokes and you're both sooo in love

when you two get married, he specifically asks to be declared husband and spouse. it doesn't have the same ring to it as the traditional man and wife but the elation on your face has never made him feel happier and he doesn't give a damn about tradition if it frowns upon on your union. your married life isn't much different aside from the fact that you two now live in the same house!

if you wear a binder, he helps you put it on and take it off, buying you better and safer binders to use. he calls you honey, babe, sweetie and all those lovey-dovey pet names.

if you end up with kids, they call you moddy and sam thinks it's the sweetest thing in the world.
