eve’s eyes were wide as she practically danced between the people in the stalls, gaze never leaving someone she chose to trail behind. she was hungry and all the people in town were only making her hungrier – she didn’t want to play it ‘good’ anymore. she waited until she thought the time was right, cornering them with a semi-gentle push. “you shouldn’t leave your back turned all night. did you even know i was following you?” she taunted, fangs flashing with her smile. “this is a carnival, right? everyone should be able to win their prize and i’m here to collect mine. i think that’s pretty fair.”

i’ve never had a more horrifying realization of being surrounded by heterosexuals as the one time in my college screenwriting class when i brought in a script treatment based off my toxic yuri slasher and final girl ocs and instead of actually asking questions about it, the entire class looked at me like i had three heads. one guy asked me “but how are they in love? how is that healthy?” to which i could only respond “… it’s not?” and then to add insult to injury the guy who went after me presented a ~twisted take on beauty and the beast~ where the beast was an incel trying to reinact the fairy tale by holding a girl captive in his basement and everyone went wild for it

[Amy's smile shifts, softening as she drops her gaze to their entwined hands. She chews her lip in silence. Shadow can't help but watch. On the roof above, the rest of the party has found its way outside and is getting ready. There's chatter, and laughter, but in this moment, it feels as though it could have been leagues away.] [Amy takes a deep breath, then looks back up to meet Shadow's gaze.] Amy: Can I kiss you now? [Shadow stiffens. Their eyes dart from the dark sky back to Amy's face. Amy can't help but giggle.] Amy: I know it's not midnight yet, but... [She moves forward, slowly, giving Shadow an out, but they don't take it. They stand there and shiver as her thumbs brush along the backs of their knuckles and her breath tickles their face. [Shadow's eyes are wide, glowing in the dark. Being this close, they are all Amy can see.] Shadow: ...Yes. [Trepidatiously, Shadow leans in, and Amy follows suit, closing her eyes.] [It's not a great kiss, by all technicality. Few would even call it good. Noses bump, lips still randomly in trembling confused panic, and neither party knows what to do about the fact that the other's teeth exist.]

[Yet by the same token, that is what makes it absolutely wonderful.] [Their friends on the floor above begin to count down, and Amy is just aware of it enough to open her eyes and find Shadow never shut theirs.] [Amy can't help but laugh, and Shadow's face cracks into a smile at the joy.] [The fireworks go off. Their friends start screaming. All across the city there is cheering and singing and crying. Meanwhile, without a word spoken between them, they lean in and try again, slowly getting accustomed to the two of them, now, together.]

Did you know, in the script, it called for a backless dress for Wallis? It's described as her most attractive physical feature.

I did not know! That's very interesting, though, I'm curious what sort of historical hearsay/knowledge there is that informed that decision in the script. What sort of gossip that went around that circle of socialites that made everyone go "Wallis has a gorgeous back."

Whatever made them put that in the script, though, they certainly cast the right person to show off that feature.

“so, are you a star or something? i’ve always wanted to be an actress. but, i was told i would never work very well with my co-stars — they’d end up dead,” eve said as she eyed the other. “you don’t look like a killer. in fact, you look a little too nice. do you want me to show you how to conceal and use a weapon? ‘cause pretty women are always picked off first since they taste the best,” she teased, hoping she would be able to find a way to entertain herself. the theater was the last place she wanted to be cooped up, but she was thankful she wasn’t alone. otherwise, she would risk being frozen solid by leaving.

eve was growing bored and hungry, all the bodies in the tight space just tempting her. she needed to take a moment to center herself and avoid causing a scene. however, sitting next to some random person actually turned out to be fruitful in a way. she chuckled and crossed her arms over her chest. "why would i warn you? that would take the fun out of it, flesh boy," she said, lightly poking at the other. "what are you doing just sitting here? why are you not entertaining my cousin? do i have to drain you and remove the flesh from your bones the hard way?" she asked, a challenging look thrown his way.

the blonde man ran his fingers through his damp hair, as he let out a winded sigh. a night full of dancing was always enjoyable, but while he was getting used to having a beating heart and a human body lionel couldn’t help but feel breathless rather quickly. plopping himself in the nearest seat, he wiped his forehead with the back of his hand and attempted to catch his breath the best he could. before the blond could even take notice a masked figure slid into the spot beside him causing the former undead man to wince in surprise. while the feeling of being snuck up on was one he knew all too well, lionel had let his gaurd down and hadn’t been expecting it this time. he relaxed however as soon as he realized that the person beside him was someone he knew, snd just that happened to be his partner’s cousin. “ what not even a warning? “ lionel questioned jokingly. “ gotta say i’m fairly disappointed. “
