I made a few new wax seal stamps out of clay (like the ones I did for my worldbuilding stuff forever ago), this time just of random symbols that I thought might look good done in the style of painting over the raised part of the wax or etc. :0c Some of them aren't carved deep enough to really show up that well, but overall they worked okay for being clay lol
#wax seal#crafts#wax stamp#stationery#Window one is kind of stinky.. I was imagining like a swirly night sky sort of looking thing so it would be a surreal contrast of a night#sky with a window in the middle that shows a daytime sky - but the silver and purple wax kind of mixed too much together#with the black and it just looks very plain black and not all that starry or anything hjbhj.. Of course the eye is probably my favorite#since all I ever do is draw eyes and still like eye imagery for some reason. The four leaf clover is very lumpy and skrunkty but also it wa#the smallest in size out of all of them so was easier to do multiple stamps of just to try it out.#The heart with eyes wax is actually more swirly in person. I wanted it to be a mix of light pink and red and white. and the wax#did kind of all blend together but in person you can definitely see MORE of the intentional swirlyness. in this it just looks plain pink.#I was going to do one eye in the heart but it looked weird. but now two seems too plain. i could have done 3?? in a pattern.. hmm#alas. I wish I could make actual metal ones. With the clay i have to paint them in a thin layer of olive oil before stamping because#otherwise the wax just kind of gets stuck in the grooves of the clay and then you can't pull it up. Very wacky ''unprofessional'' looking#set up where I'm hot gluing circles of sculpey clay to short stumps of a wooden dowel that I sawed apart with a serrated bread knife#and then using an old paintbrush to put olive oil on them whilst holding a spoon over a yankee candle flame hjbjh#ANYWAY.. I think if I were middle class/rich/etc. this would be one of the main things in my crafting room is like.. SO many colors#of wax. and all different custom made stamps designed by me. which could be much more elaborate in actual metal.. muahaha.... >:)c#RHGghhh... I actually don't want to talk much about it since (this is probably just my Obsessed With My Own World Artist Delusions) I#think I have a really cool idea for a game that could genuinely be successful if i ever get to make it and I don't want to give#everything away and spoil the whole plot/concept in hopes that one day I can actually do it - BUT - a game that I'd like to make after the#visual novel I'm making now has partially to do with the main character working as a sort of writer/scribe/artist assistant in an elven#city (set in my world/with my worldbuilding species and versions of elves and etc) and I was thinking of maybe incorporating#somehow being able to collect little writing type items like these like.. you can get different wax seal patterns or pens or etc. when I do#stuff like this in Real Life it always makes me think of that like.. ouh... this is good research.. what it shall be like to be a littol#elf collecting wax seals and such.. indeed... GRR i need to be finished with my current game NOWWW... i MUST work on other#thingss... aughh... ANYWAY.. yay. accomplishment to do One Single Thing other than Sit In The Summer Heat And Rot#though also hilarious as this was the first cool-ish day that was below 80F in a while hgvh#waking up like 'wow.. i actually feel okay today?? like I could do things?? how mysterious.. I wonder why..?? :0'' Its The Weather You Fool#Tis Always The Weather

I DO HAVE AUS FOR MY SELF SHIPS ILL ANSWER TOMMORO ONGGG what abt u? Do u? 👀
OOOOOHHHH I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THEM 😈🙏. But man, hitting me with the No U’s I see!!! Yes… yes I like this game very much-
So I technically do have AUs for them, but I don’t really flesh them out that much. They’re usually just fun concepts I like to space out about from time to time!
I used to have this Sleeping Beauty AU with Journals and Sniper that I absolutely ADORED back in the day! Basically, as revenge for us not inviting him to the Halloween party, Merasmus trapped us in lil fake worlds based on our costumes; Snipes and I got stuck in Corporate-Rat’s Sleeping Beauty, as you could imagine. Nowadays, I’ve become more fond of a Beauty and the Beast styled AU for them. I just... his owl head man... that’d be so damn fun-
Let’s see… I’ve had a few thoughts about Faux Berry Cookie being in the Cookies of Darkness, but I don’t even know what her role would be lmao. OOH!! I love the idea of Daydream being part of the League of Villains- That’s more of a self-insert AU than a specifically self-ship AU, but there is some good self-ship plot with Hawks hidden in there~ There’s been slight ideas for Hex Maniac Liberty becoming a GO Rocket leader, or for Libby SOMEHOW getting wrapped up in Gary & Monarch’s “Blue Morpho” affair.
I also have, like, a TON of AU ideas shelved for Karamatsu and Freedom, and all of them exist because of the Hesokuri Wars sets. I used to have one with a friend for the Alice in Wonderland set; Karamatsu was still the White Rabbit and Freedom was one of the singing roses! I wanna bring that one back, but with Freedom having one of the book characters assigned to her. Ugh, and we had a Mafia AU for them ABWKANWKE (Freedom was a jazz singer at a bar lmaaaaooo). I’ve had an Angel AU for Kara, a Grim Reaper AU, a Vampire AU (he was a traditional vampire and she was, like, a dream vampire?? It was pretty sick actually-), and I was in the development of a Greek Mythos AU a while back… but I ended up dropping it. If it counts as an AU too, I’ve fleshed out her role for the Calming Detective skits; she would’ve been his gold-digger wife RIP

"The Ever-Evolving World of Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management"
In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, managing the financial aspects has never been more crucial. Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is the systematic process that healthcare providers employ to track patient care episodes from registration and appointment scheduling through the final payment of a balance. This intricate financial journey is influenced by a multitude of factors, including changing regulations, technological advances, and shifting patient expectations. To understand the importance of this process and its continuous evolution, let's delve deeper into the world of Healthcare RCM.
The Core Elements of Healthcare RCM:
Patient Registration: It all begins when a patient schedules an appointment or enters a healthcare facility. Proper registration involves gathering essential patient information, including demographics and insurance details.
Insurance Verification: In the modern healthcare landscape, the majority of patients rely on insurance coverage. Verifying insurance information is vital to ensure the provider will be reimbursed for services rendered.
Medical Coding: Accurate medical coding is the bridge that connects the care provided to the claims submitted to insurance companies. It involves translating medical procedures and diagnoses into standardized codes, such as CPT and ICD-10.
Billing and Claim Submission: Once the care is delivered, the billing process begins. Claims are submitted to insurance providers, government programs, or patients, depending on the situation.
Denial Management: Claims can be denied for various reasons, leading to revenue loss. Effective denial management is essential to address and resolve these issues promptly.
Payment Posting: When payments are received, they need to be posted accurately to patient accounts. This step ensures a clear financial picture.
Accounts Receivable Management: Maintaining and managing accounts receivable is vital for cash flow. It involves pursuing unpaid balances and addressing patient inquiries.
Prior Authorization: For certain medical procedures, insurance providers require prior authorization. Navigating this process is a key component of RCM.
The Ongoing Evolution of Healthcare RCM:
The world of healthcare RCM is not static; it's in a constant state of flux. Here are some factors contributing to its ongoing evolution:
Regulatory Changes: Healthcare is heavily regulated, and updates to laws and regulations impact RCM processes. Staying compliant with these changes is essential.
Technological Advancements: Technology plays a pivotal role in modern RCM. Electronic health records (EHRs), billing software, and automation tools are continually evolving.
Patient Expectations: Patients now expect a seamless financial experience. This has led to the need for transparent billing, online payment options, and digital communication.
Data Analytics: The use of data analytics and predictive modeling is on the rise, helping healthcare providers optimize RCM processes and identify areas for improvement.
Outsourcing Solutions: Many healthcare providers are now outsourcing aspects of their RCM to specialized RCM companies like Extended Health Services to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
In this ever-evolving world of Healthcare RCM, it's critical for healthcare providers to adapt, embrace technology, and partner with experts to navigate the complexities of the financial journey. Extended Health Services is committed to staying at the forefront of these changes, ensuring healthcare providers can focus on patient care while we manage the intricacies of revenue cycle management.

The GOP wonders why young people (and others) don't want to vote for them. Some wise scribe assembled this list.
1.) Your Reagan-era “trickle-down economics” strategy of tax breaks for billionaires that you continue to employ to this day has widened the gap between rich and poor so much that most of them will never be able to own a home, much less earn a living wage.
2.) You refuse to increase the federal minimum wage, which is still $7.25 an hour (since 2009). Even if it had just kept up with inflation, it would be $27 now. You’re forcing people of all ages but especially young people to work multiple jobs just to afford basic necessities.
3.) You fundamentally oppose and want to kill democracy; have done everything in your power to restrict access to the ballot box, particularly in areas with demographics that tend to vote Democratic (like young people and POC). You staged a fucking coup the last time you lost.
4.) You have abused your disproportionate senate control over the last three decades to pack the courts with religious extremists and idealogues, including SCOTUS—which has rolled back rights for women in ways that do nothing but kill more women and children and expand poverty.
5.) You refuse to enact common sense gun control laws to curb mass shootings like universal background checks and banning assault weapons; subjecting their entire generation to school shootings and drills that are traumatizing in and of themselves. You are owned by the NRA.
6.) You are unequivocally against combatting climate change to the extent that it’s as if you’ve made it your personal mission to ensure they inherit a planet that is beyond the point of no return in terms of remaining habitable for the human race beyond the next few generations.
7.) You oppose all programs that provide assistance to those who need it most. Your governors refused to expand Medicaid even during A PANDEMIC. You are against free school lunches, despite it being the only meal that millions of children can count on to actually receive each day
8.) You are banning books, defunding libraries, barring subject matter, and whitewashing history even more in a fascistic attempt to keep them ignorant of the systemic racism that this nation was literally founded upon and continues to this day in every action your party takes.
9.) You oppose universal healthcare and are still trying to repeal the ACA and rip healthcare from tens of millions of Americans and replace it with nothing. You are against lowering the cost of insulin and prescription drugs that millions need simply to LIVE/FUNCTION in society.
10.) You embrace white nationalists, Neo-Nazis, and other groups that are defined by their intractable racism, xenophobia, bigotry, and intolerance. You conspired with these groups on January 6th to try to overthrow the U.S. government via domestic terrorism that KILLED PEOPLE.
11.) You oppose every bill aimed at making life better for our nation’s youth; from education to extracurricular and financial/nutritional assistance programs. You say you want to “protect the children” while you elect/nominate pedophiles and attack trans youth and drag queens.
12.) You pretend to be offended by “anti-semitism” while literally supporting, electing, and speaking at events organized by Nazis. You pretend to hate “cancel culture” despite the fact that you invented it and it’s basically all you do.
13.) Every word you utter is a lie. You are the party of treason, hypocrisy, crime, and authoritarianism. You want to entrench rule by your aging minority because you know that you have nothing to offer young voters and they will never support you for all these reasons and more.
14.) You’re so hostile to even the notion of helping us overcome the mountain of debt that millions of us are forced to take on just to pay for our post K-12 education that you are suing to try to prevent a small fraction of us from getting even $10,000 in loan forgiveness.
15.) You opened the floodgates of money into politics via Citizens United; allowing our entire system of government to become a cesspool of corruption, crime, and greed. You are supposed to represent the American people whose taxes pay your salary but instead cater to rich donors.
16.) You respond to elected representatives standing in solidarity with their constituents to protest the ONGOING SLAUGHTER of children in schools via shootings by EXPELLING THEM FROM OFFICE & respond to your lack of popularity among young people by trying to raise the voting age.
17.) You impeach Democratic presidents over lying about a BJ but refuse to impeach (then vote twice to acquit) a guy whose entire “administration” was an international crime syndicate being run out of the WH who incited an insurrection to have you killed.
18.) You steal Supreme Court seats from democrats to prevent the only black POTUS we’ve ever had from appointing one and invent fake precedents that you later ignore all to take fundamental rights from Americans; and even your “legitimate” appointments consist of people like THIS (sub-thread refuting CJ Roberts criticisms of people attacking SCOTUS' legitimacy).
19.) You support mass incarceration even for innocuous offenses or execution by cop for POC while doing nothing but protect rich white criminals who engage in such things as tax fraud, money laundering, sex trafficking, rape/sexual assault, falsifying business records, etc.
20.) You are the reason we can’t pass:—Universal background checks—An assault weapons ban—The ‘For the People/Freedom to vote’ Act or John Lewis Voting Rights Act—The ERA & Equality Act—The Climate Action Now Act—The (Stopping) Violence Against Women Act—SCOTUS expansion.
21.) You do not seek office to govern, represent, or serve the American people. You seek power solely for its own sake so you can impose your narrow-minded puritanical will on others at the expense of their most fundamental rights and freedoms like voting and bodily autonomy.
22.) Ok, last one. You are trying to eliminate social security and Medicare that tens of millions of our parents rely on and paid into their entire lives. And you did everything to maximize preventable deaths from COVID leaving millions of us in mourning.

What To Include In Your Medical Virtual Assistant Orientation
When you're looking to hire a medical virtual assistant, it's important to orient them properly so that they can be an asset to your practice. Orientation should include providing them with all the necessary information to do their job efficiently and effectively.
Tumblr media
New hire orientation is the process of supplying them with the information and tools they need to succeed in their roles. Orientation includes:
Introducing them to the company culture.
Explaining their job responsibilities.
Provide them with the tools and types of equipment they need to perform their duties.
Orientation also helps new employees acclimate to their new work environment and build relationships with their coworkers.
Orientation
Most staffing companies providing healthcare virtual assistant services can handle part of the orientation, so it's a good idea to work with a company that offers this service. Do your research and choose one that best suit your clinic's needs. With the proper orientation, your medical virtual assistant can help make your office run more smoothly!
What to include in the orientation of virtual medical assistants
The importance of planning what to include for the orientation of virtual medical assistants cannot be overemphasized. You can ensure that your virtual assistant has all the necessary information to be efficient when you plan for the details included in the orientation.
By planning your orientation, you can ensure that your virtual assistant is up-to-date on all the latest policies and procedures and has all the necessary resources to succeed. Planning also allows you to tailor the orientation to your clinic's needs. By planning, you can ensure that your virtual assistant is fully integrated into your work more smoothly.
Tumblr media
Dental Office
Some critical components of good orientation for medical virtual assistants include:
Office space tour
A tour of your practice will make your virtual assistant familiar with the place's layout and where everything is located. Although the healthcare virtual assistant works remotely, this benefits visiting physicians or new doctors when they can ask your virtual assistants where the equipment or files are located when no one else is in the office.
Physician specialty
Another option is for you to eventually delegate the touring of the clinic to your virtual assistant. Some people would want to get a feel of the place before they come in for a visit to keep their anxiety and fears at bay. A virtual tour of the facility gives people the feeling of familiarity with the place, which can calm them down while waiting for their turn to be seen by the provider.
Introduction to your practice and the services you offer
Orienting virtual assistants to your specific practice is essential, so they understand the type of patients you see and your areas of specialization. Orientation is especially crucial for virtual veterinary and dental assistants as they differ in layout from general practices. Orientation will help them communicate more effectively with patients, other offices, and insurance companies.
Being patient-centered
Being familiar with the amenities you offer would benefit your virtual assistants when people call in to inquire about them. Familiarity will also enable them to offer any additional service to specific procedures if that is usually ordered together.
Your medical philosophy
There is no one-size-fits-all definition of medical philosophy, as it can vary depending on the individual doctor or workplace. A provider's healthcare method is generally referred to as their medical philosophy. Medical philosophies encompass ideas on the best ways to treat patients, the most efficient medical procedures, the most successful and influential therapies for patients, and what is most important to them.
Medical philosophy can also encompass a doctor's ethical beliefs about healthcare. This philosophy includes how much importance should be placed on the patient's quality of life, whether it is acceptable to use placebo treatments, and how much information doctors should share with patients about their health.
Familiarity with software
Many doctors also believe that medical philosophy should be based on evidence-based medicine. This philosophy means they only use treatments proven effective through scientific research.
Since your virtual assistant will be an integral part of your medical team, they must be familiar with your medical philosophy. Medical philosophy includes how you want them to handle certain situations, patient interactions, and more.
Healthcare systems training
Training your healthcare virtual assistant on your computer system and electronic medical records is vital to accomplish the administrative tasks that you and your assistant delegate to them. Knowing how your systems work will enable your healthcare virtual assistant to navigate them and input patient information correctly and efficiently.
Managing prescriptions
A virtual medical receptionist can handle prescription refills, remote patient monitoring, insurance verification, and back office tasks. They can assist providers by giving indirect care to patients, such as taking calls to answer questions about health assistance and services offered by the practice.
Healthcare virtual assistant
Providing additional information to patients when medical assistants are busy with doctor support or patient care assures your clients that no matter how busy you get, they will always receive the direct and indirect care that they need.
Training on HIPAA and other privacy regulations
Most virtual assistants are registered nurses, so they need not undergo the HIPAA training program again. Orienting them on various healthcare tasks and practices will not be time-consuming. Most registered nurses have experience in medical and dental care, which will save time orienting them on various insurance or dental health management protocols.
Security Protocols
Some offices may have encrypted video conferencing software, common among healthcare professionals discussing a better solution for healthcare support or various medical treatment in sensitive fields. Virtual assistants must be familiar with how to utilize that not only to complete any assigned tasks for that healthcare sector but also to support other medical professionals, patients, or members of the healthcare team that needs to use such software.
Practice protocols
Different doctors have different preferences when it comes to practice management. Orienting your virtual assistant on how you want them to answer phone lines, schedule appointments, and the flow of patient visits would save time for everyone and benefits the team in the long run.
Clinic flow
Training your virtual assistant on your billing and payment procedures and giving them instructions on submitting reports and comments is an essential part of the recruiting process for any medical practice because they will be doing this job every day for the foreseeable future.
Organized documentation
By providing your virtual medical assistant with a comprehensive orientation, you can make sure they are up to speed and ready to support the patient-centered philosophy of your medical or dental clinic.
Importance of orientation of medical virtual assistants
It is important to orient your medical virtual assistant properly, and there are several reasons why this is the case.
Tasks are accomplished efficiently.
First, orienting your virtual assistant will help them feel comfortable with your practice and familiar with your systems. Being familiar with your registered nurses or another physician in the exam room with you ensures that the team can deliver quality patient care without worrying about health insurance or other medical documentation during patient visits.
Standardized practice
Secondly, orienting your medical virtual assistant will help ensure that they follow health practices and protocols correctly, answer phones, and schedule appointments in a way that meets your standards. When a virtual assistant is aware of the standards set by the physician, they can carry out a task as efficiently as any in-house staff.
Tumblr media
Virtual assistant at work
Finally, orienting your virtual assistant will help ensure they are familiar with your electronic medical records system. Ensuring patients' data concerning their health visits and insurance are documented correctly and updated in real time is vital to delivering quality care. Registered nurses are already familiar with establishing patient rapport to gather the necessary data to ensure complete and accurate documentation.
Critical components of a good orientation
When orienting a virtual medical assistant, it is crucial to keep in mind the critical components of a good orientation. These components include brevity, clarity, and precision.
Brevity
A good orientation should be brief but complete with everything they need to know. Since most virtual assistants are healthcare professionals, you need not elaborate on their already familiar parts. You can center the orientation around your specific needs and any protocols and procedures you want them to follow.
Clarity
Orientation should be clear and concise, providing them with all the information they need to do their job effectively. You may only need to stress the essential parts for your virtual assistant, depending on their experience with handling patients virtually or in person.
Precision
Finally, it should be precise. Make sure that your virtual assistant is familiar with your protocols and computer systems to reach the standards you place for your practice. Preparing for your orientation would enable you to be specific about what you expect from your virtual assistant and how you want them to go about their job.
Precision is crucial for any documentation you keep daily, especially for a specialized field like surgery, orthopedics, OB-GYNE, dentistry, veterinary, and the like. Procedures in these fields require specific terminologies that your virtual assistant must be aware of to ensure quality and accurate data recording.
Ensure that they are prepared for work and up to speed.
Evaluating that your virtual medical assistant understands the orientation and training required of them is crucial. Medical practices are wild places, and you do not always have the time to check the output of your virtual assistant. Being confident in the abilities of your staff will not only benefit your practice but also give you peace of mind. You also have to ensure that either someone from the staffing firm or your in-house staff would regularly take the time to randomly go through the documents to check that everything is in order.
Monitor progress
One way to evaluate their understanding is by having them take a short test or quiz at the end of the orientation. Tests can be sent via email or done via an online quiz service.
Feedback
Have a brief meeting with them for a sort of question and answer portion after the orientation to discuss any concerns they may have. A brief meeting will allow you to get to know them better and build rapport.
A well-oiled practice will run more smoothly with the help of a virtual assistant.
A virtual medical receptionist can help to keep a medical office running smoothly. The office manager can focus on more important things by handling some of the administrative tasks. Some of the things a virtual medical scribe can do include:
- Answering phone calls and routing calls to the right person
- Scheduling appointments
- Filing paperwork
- Updating patient records
- Processing payments
Having the same virtual assistant work for you ensures they do the job each time. When the same person frequently contacts insurance companies for your patients, they would eventually have someone on those companies who would expedite the services you need. They will also be able to anticipate what documents would be necessary for some routine procedures and have the paperwork ready to be sent out promptly.

The Importance of High Employee Retention Rates
An essential aspect of any business, often overlooked, is its employee retention rate. It is the percentage of employees with the company for a certain period, usually a year or more. Employee retention is crucial to a company's success, as it ensures that employees are delighted with their jobs and are more likely to stay with the company for a long time. A high employee retention rate reduces the cost and inconvenience of hiring and coaching new employees.
Factors that contribute to employee satisfaction are many and, consequently, retention rates. One of the most important is job satisfaction. It just so happens that workers who are content and pleased in their occupations are considerably more likely to stay with their employers. Essential factors in job satisfaction include compensation, workload, and working conditions. Employees who feel they are paid fairly, have manageable workloads, and work in comfortable conditions are highly likely to feel fulfilled and happy with their jobs.
Another important factor is company culture. Companies with a positive culture that values their employees and promotes teamwork have higher retention rates than those that do not. Employee retention rates drastically rise when they feel valued and appreciated for their job.
Finally, good management is essential for high employee retention rates. Employees also need to feel that their supervisors or managers care about them and are interested in their welfare. They also need to feel that their managers are competent and can help them grow professionally. When employees feel this way, they are much more likely to stay with their current company.
High employee retention rates are crucial for the success of any business. By ensuring that your employees are happy with their jobs and feel valued by your company, you can keep them satisfied and reduce the cost and inconvenience of hiring new ones.
High employee retention rates are essential in any field but critical in the medical field. In the medical field, it is crucial to have employees who are knowledgeable and experienced in their professions. It is also essential to have employees who are good at working with others and can follow directions. When employees leave a medical office, finding someone qualified and willing to take their place can be difficult. This change can lead to disruptions in the office's workflow and cost the office time and money.
High employee retention rates help to ensure that medical offices have the staff they need to run smoothly. Maintaining employee satisfaction with their work can cut down on the time and money spent on hiring and training new hires. High employee retention rates can help your facility run more efficiently and can improve patient care.
The same thing is true with your virtual assistant. When you have the same person handling your paperwork over some time, you will eventually develop a healthy, trusting work relationship. By freeing up the office manager to focus on other tasks, your practice runs more efficiently and elevates your practice to another level of delivering quality care.
Orienting your virtual medical assistant is essential in ensuring that they are up to speed and ready to work in your office. By providing them with a comprehensive orientation, you can ensure they have all the critical information necessary to do their job effectively. A well-oiled medical office will run more smoothly with the help of a virtual assistant, so be sure to invest in proper orientation!

synopsis: as a sumerian diplomat to your partner's nation, times come where you have to return to your homeland when certain duties call. this time, the akademiya scribe and acting grand master (and more importantly your former classmate and good friend), had sent you a short letter requesting your presence in the city. al haitham, ever so meticulous, had noticed some inconsistencies in the liyue-sumeru trade reports and needed your assistance to rectify the issue.
your most recent visit was two months ago, when you returned with an auburn flower painted into the palm of your hand (courtesy of nilou), fascinating your boyfriend greatly. you'd forgotten about the scene, especially in your rush to pack…

so when he shyly asks if you’ll get it again…
Tumblr media
if there’s anyone who understands the saying, “duty calls”, it's DILUC.
that being said, it doesn’t mean he’ll miss you any less…
his ears colour scarlet, looking away as he asks, ‘do you think you’d have time to do your mehendi this time?’
you grin, eyes crinkling fondly at the conscious effort he made to pronounce it correctly. ‘we’ll see, ‘luc.’ And that was enough consolation of your absence for him, because he’d do anything to see the enchanting art on your hands again. A compensation of sorts, he thinks to himself, miffed. Despite never having seen something like it before, it was so inexplicably you, a simple, dainty extension of your heritage that made him fall for you even more, if that was even possible.
you open your palms to him, every space that could possibly be painted on is covered in intricate designs of mehndi. ‘there’s a surprise for you in there, if you can find it.’ he pulls off his right glove, tilting his head at you curiously.
he holds your hands in his, with the care of handling handcrafted terracotta, and searches through the patterns, his index finger tracing along. ‘that tickles,’ you mutter, squirming as an involuntary smile pulls at your lips at his determined expression. he tightens his hold just a tad at your words. ‘is that better?’ he hums, smiling faintly as he continues in his ministrations.
he stops in his tracks, his breath hitching, and if his cheeks burned anymore he was sure he’d burst into flames, rivalling his vision. there it is, his surprise, along the side of your left ring finger – his name, in beguiling cursive. you’re struck with the urge to kiss him, when he beams so brightly you’d think wedding bells are tinkling, and he buries his face in your palms, bashful.
‘i love you,’ he says softly, voice muffled by your skin. your smile widens, endeared, leaning down to try and meet his eyes as he avoids you, pulling your hands further towards him. ‘i love you too, ‘luc.’
Tumblr media
‘how long will you be gone? XIAO turns to look at you from his perch on the balcony, watching you pack after you’d denied his help, before dismally turning back to the moonlight. you stifle a giggle at his sulking demeanour – if he had cat ears, they’d be flat against the top of his head; wallowing in his melancholy.
‘a week, maybe less. al haitham and i work efficiently well together so the work might be done quicker than i’m thinking,’ you answer with a small smile, absentmindedly rolling up your socks. he makes a face – a small scowl that you don’t see with his back turned to you – at the mention of the scribe. ‘why can he work with you but i can’t come with you?’ he mutters petulantly.
‘you know how much i’d love your company, xiao,’ you tilt your head kindly, reasoning with your adorably envious boyfriend. ‘but you’re not my protector alone, you have the people of liyue to keep safe, dear adeptus.’ he huffs quietly at your point, before turning to face you again, shifting his body to sit against the rails.
‘then…will you do something for me?’ ‘anything,’ you roll a tunic, glancing at him fondly.
‘you know, the designs you returned with last time?’ he begins, eyes trained on your palm. ‘you mean mehndi, right? want me to get it done again?’ he nods quickly, neck turned to look away from you as it slowly flushes crimson, his ears burning.
you return in less than a week, as promised, spending a day in leisure after your work was done to participate in recent festivities.
‘xiao,’ you say his name, summoning him as you settle onto the edge of your shared bed at wangshu inn. he appears comically fast, looking dishevelled. ‘you’re back,’ he breathes, his smile small.
you open your arms, and he falls into them easily, sitting beside you. ‘although, i did stay over a day longer,’ you tell him, apologetic. ‘but for good reason! different communities in sumeru celebrate their own kind of festival of lights at different times of the year. like the lantern rite in liyue.’ he perks up from the crook of your neck, curious as you continue.
‘they were celebrating deepavali in gandharva ville, and tighnari invited me to come join them,’ you show him your hands, smiling at him. ‘as promised,’ you say gently.
his lips part, eyes trailing over every crevice of your palms and wrists, hesitantly reaching out a hand to touch, like they’d wipe away any moment. he looks up at you, wide-eyed, when he sees his name across your inner forearm, at the top of your wrist.
‘so my protector could join me,’ you tease, grinning, before he sways forward, pressing his lips to yours before you can see his ruddy cheeks.
Tumblr media
so when he seems so oddly happy to see you leave…
Tumblr media
is he cheating on you?!
‘so when do you get back, milaya?’ CHILDE questions, following you around your apartment as you pack your things for your travels and stay - to him, this was normal behaviour; to you, it was his tenth question in the last three minutes.
despite your annoyance because you're stressed, and he isn't really helping aside from tailing you like a shadow and probing you with his quizzing, your breath catches slightly at the nickname. (you could be dating for years and he'd still have that effect on you, but never to let him know because he'd never live it down.)
when you'd told childe about your sudden business trip, promising that it wouldn't take very long, you'd expected his usual lamenting and sorrow, not…him grinning at you in anticipation. does he want me to take long, you think to yourself in dismay, your inner conscience pulling a horrified face.
‘be sure not to rush so you can take time to, you know, hang out with your friends! you must miss them – especially that girl you mentioned last time, the artist – ni-something? nilly?’
‘nilou.’
childe’s mind is elsewhere, for once not noting your slowly darkening mood (usually he has the countenance of a spy, mostly when it comes to your upset). the second you mentioned visiting sumeru, he remembers the last time you went, and returned with the prettiest little tattoo on your palm, refusing to let go of hour hand for hours as he traced the design.
‘is it permanent? the henna?’ he sounds adorably curious, occupied with pressing gentle kisses to the tips of your fingers. you fight back a smile, warming at the sight of his cerulean eyes on you. ‘temporary, unfortunately. i’m not that good at doing it on myself,’ and you let out the laugh you’d been holding back when he frowns, drooping visibly, before perking up when you comb your free hand through his hair, expression fond, and he flushes.
‘maybe i could learn?’
he doesn’t know why he’s so captivated by it, but something about you being adorned in your culture was alluring. he’s going to miss you terribly, he knows, weeping and throwing himself over the chaise and wasting away his days despondently until you return, but it is a soothing comfort to wait knowing that you’ll come back with a gift, seen as such despite being adorned on you (which makes it all the more a present), so he kisses you goodbye as he sees you off at the harbour, trying not to be as dejected.
you worry your bottom lip between your teeth on the way back, a few days earlier than you’d told your boyfriend you’d return. your mind returns to how he didn’t even shed a tear at the pier – you’d expected your dramatic boyfriend to almost flood the port like last time (he really has a knack for raising your standards).
his few letters had mostly probed about your days in detail, asking what you were doing, who you met, but talking about his own few and far between, and your suspicion had only grown. you know your boyfriend is easy on the eyes, and his flirtation comes so effortlessly to him in a way that has the people of liyue swooning (he doesn’t even realise it with how engrossed he is with you). it would cause him no struggle to find someone…else – someone better?
when he meets you at the harbour to pick you up, he presses his lips to yours as fervently as he can without the millelith escorting him away for excessive pda, his hand at your nape. ‘missed you, milaya,’ he whispers into your mouth, ‘–so much.’
he pulls away, grinning at you, before flipping your palms in his hand, sulking when he finds them blank. he looks up to complain before his words stop in his throat, eyes falling to the nilotpala lotuses on your collarbone, extending its stems and leaves outward and down the collar of your shirt, and his gaze darkens. his hand wraps around your wrist (gentle, always so gentle), pulling you in the direction of your apartment as his free hand lifts your bags easily.
he pulls you into your shared apartment, dropping your luggage as he locks the door, before caging you against the wall between his arms. he leans down to meet your wide eyes, and you back away a little as your stomach flips.
he ghosts his lips over yours, peppering up your cheek before dragging down your neck, humming when he reaches your collar, tugging it down just a tad, the mehndi lotus petals curving into the dip of your skin. ‘did your friend do this one too?’ he asks absentmindedly, kissing the spot before nipping it lightly, soothing over it with a teasing grin when you tug at his hair in warning, your breathing shallow. ‘’ts pretty,’ he looks up at you, eyes hardened to cobalt and half-lidded, his lips pulled into a lazy half-smile.
you exhale sharply – he wasn’t asking if you’d stay longer so he could meet with his paramour; he just wanted you to have time so he could see the art on you again! (he’s so obsessed with you it’s actually stupid that you’d think he could even look at anyone but you). your heart stutters at the realisation as you push his smirking face away timidly, before your mind clears.
‘you asshole if that bruises–’
Tumblr media
so when you get a letter from his subjects…
Tumblr media
as the iudex of fontaine, NEUVILLETTE is a busy man, and sometimes (most of the time) the work cut out for him rises to arduous levels. the only thing that made the wearying paperwork bearable was you. you, who would quietly bring a chair and organise his papers the way he likes it, sometimes filling it yourself methodically, perfectly, if it was within your scope of knowledge. you, who would bring him macarons and pastries at random, and pull him out of his office at meal times to eat together.
you, who would brew tea to enjoy together at moments like this, when his head throbs from a headache as he presses his forehead to his desk, and he misses you terribly.
the bushes outside the palais mermonia have grown ears, one would think. they’ve become the commonplace meeting spot for the melusines, the small creatures clustered together in shrubbery as they secretly discuss their worry, staring up at the heavy grey clouds, threatening downpour that had been continuous for the past two days.
that brings them to today, gathered once more as they draft a letter to you.
‘dear partner of father,
we thought it would be fit to let you know that his state is very bleak and desolate, and he is concerningly not leaving his office very often. this is not meant to worry or rush you, but do you think you could return…as soon as possible? do you know how much longer your duties will take to complete?
p.s. we know father would never expect a present from you, but from our side we humbly ask of you to return with a treat, since we know how much he loves gifts from you.
regards and sincerely,
the fontaine melusines’
you sigh heavily, ghosting your fingertips over the patterned paper, worrying your lip in concern for your boyfriend.
reading the letter over your shoulder (nosy), al haitham huffs, a rare smile on his face. ‘we’re on the last report, i can finish it on my own,’ he turns to face the files once more, monotone voice taking on a teasing lilt as you narrow your eyes at him. ‘are you sure?’
‘go ahead early, so you can get that treat of yours.’ ‘haitham!’
two days later, a knock on the door brings neuvillette’s head up from where it is surrounded by piles of files, articles and reports. ‘come in,’ he calls, weary, expecting another melusine urging him to eat.
instead of the small, long-eared souls he’d expected to see, the door opens to you. he stands abruptly, the stacks sliding to the floor and scattering loose leafs of paper onto the floorboards.
‘mon cœur?’ he stares at you, wide-eyed in surprise, the tips of his pointed years carmine. if it were anyone else, you’d think they weren’t happy to see you. but this is your neuvillette, and the immediate stop of rainfall as the clouds give way to clear blue out the window, and the subsequent chirping of the birds on the sills speak volumes.
he makes haste, meeting you in the middle of his office before hesitating, and you nod gently at him. he gathers you in his arms, soft and warm against the firm planes of his hold. he cups your face in his palms, kissing you deeply, a clear message of i missed you passed into your breath and into your heart. it beats rapidly against your sternum, swelling with promise to take good care and spoil your sweet, tenderhearted boyfriend. he parts from you reluctantly, breathing your scent in and pressing a kiss to the crown of your head. ‘did you have a safe journey?’
‘i did, i apologise for taking so long–,’ he shakes his head quickly, and you laugh lightly. ‘and since you liked it so much last time,’ you push up your sleeves, showing him your forearms. he gasps quietly, azure gaze following the tawny trail of lumidouce bells, rainbow roses and romaritime flowers drawn into the skin of your forearms and the back of your hands with artful precision, vines connecting and curling around them beautifully. his heart warms at the thoughtful gift - sumerian culture imbued with his in mind.
a rainbow spreads through the sky outside, the melusines letting out a sigh of relief, patting each other on the back for a job well done.

Tumblr media
by now, how many times in your life did you have to run after your careless, irresponsible brother?
had to make sure he isn't doing anything reckless again, despite him being an akademiya graduate. Or that one time when he had visited your home only to forget half of his belongings, requiring you to carry them all over to his place.
well, not to his place to be exact.
after yet another foolish decision in kaveh's life, your step brother even got himself caught up in heavy debt, being in need of a place to stay.
however at first, he had asked you, but ever since you had gotten adopted you had already spent the majority of your life with him.
to say you were tired was an understatement.
as a matter of fact kaveh did find a place to stay in the end, one you were quite surprised to hear of, bewildered even, you just couldn't wrap your head around how on earth that was supposed to work out in the long run.
you had heard of his roommate, the akademiya's scribe, or how most people were referring to him, as alhaitham, from kaveh himself, aside of the very detailed stories about how ill mannered and ignorant he could become, especially to your brother in question.
in all honesty, it made you laugh, you mean to tell him that yes, sometimes messing with him, taking a lot out of him could be fun in all aspects but maybe it was due to the fact that you were practicing those methods from your childhood days on.
as life went on, you found yourself at his new settling every once in a while, more often when the scribe himself wasn't there, almost as if kaveh was trying his utmost best to never have you both meet each other.
once you had asked him as to why, feeling insulted that he even thought you wouldn't realize when he was making it painfully conspicuous, more whenever your brother would panic that *now* he was usually coming home from his work, you had to leave right now.
all he had to say about it was that he was certain you wouldn't like him anyways, would actually loath him too and wasn't it a part of nature to protect your younger sibling from each major plague in life?
to that, you couldn't respond with anything meaningful, suffocating the conversation right then and there because truthfully, though it may seem strange, you didn't think your brother would lie to you in that precise set of circumstances because maybe he was right, perhaps you really would hold a hostile environment towards the scribe.
even now, as you were strolling through an appealing, warm evening in sumeru city, you not once had met alhaitham, at this being slightly hopeful that you wouldn't cross paths with him today either.
because you see, it was that time of the month again, the: your brother has, again, forgotten something at home after visiting you, putting on the responsibility on your shoulders to fetch and transport it back to his place.
ordinarily you concluded that at this time of the day kaveh surely must've gotten home by now, you knew his schedule by heart and were quite confident to meet him there right away, knocking on the door as you at last, found your way to the huge place he resided in.
knock, knocking once more, silence ... knock again?
after knocking a total of three times, with no one opening the door for you, your expression slightly changed from normal, to confused, to that of being utterly annoyed.
it's not like you didn't have anything better to do other than being your brothers little assistant or however you wanted to frame it.
since you had been to his place numerous amounts of times before, in addition that you determined that he surely must've fallen asleep again, you decided to check the door handle to see if it was open all along, which it then, was.
(you put an important mental note in the deepest ends of your brain to scold him afterwards for carelessly leaving the door to his home open like this.)
you carefully cradled your fingers around the door handle to pull it down, pushing the door open to let yourself in.
okay, well, maybe it wasn't a smart idea to just straight up enter a home from someone you didn't know, but kaveh was living there for a good amount of time already so you didn't think too much of it.
the second you had entered you swiftly closed the door behind you, the faint breeze from outside scampering around your body as you tightly held onto the two books he forgot at your place, walking towards the living room.
"kaveh?" you spoke, rolling your eyes and deciding to get a bit louder, already being done with this whole, bloody situation, "kaveh!"
once reaching the living room you with, might i add, a bit too much applied strength, violently thumped the books onto the wooden coffee table and huffed out, distressfully folding your arms in front of your body.
"what has that poor table done to you?" you helplessly shrieked the moment you had perceived an unfamiliar, deep voice, the little hairs on the back of your neck standing straight while you were slowly turning around in horror.
"who are you?!" you could say you spoke before actually bringing the whole situation to your mind to thoroughly think about it, leaving the unacquainted man in front of you with a confused look on his face.
"I think i could ask you the same." he was quick to gather a response, flawlessly bringing himself a step closer towards your frame but still leaving enough space between your bodies.
"because you see, this is my house." instead of kindly introducing himself to you, like any other person would, he swiftly walked past your body to plop himself onto the massive couch.
but never keeping his gaze off you, carefully sliding his eyes from your lips, to your exposed collarbones and glissading them over your body until reaching your legs.
it seemed as if he was waiting for a response from you, after all you had now rapidly deducted that this had to be none other than the scribe, alhaitham, himself.
you turned around to slightly lower your gaze to where he was sitting at, nonchalantly sipping on his cup before placing it on the coffee table right next to kaveh's books.
"so .. you must be?" warily, you allocated a question into the room, anxiously swaying in your footing from left to right.
"the owner of this house."
seriously?
the least he could do now was approach you back in kindness instead of making it a dozen amount more difficult for you, as well as embarrassing.
"that's not what i meant." how rude, okay, to give him the benefit of the doubt you were the one who broke into his house but clearly he must've known who you were.
or maybe he actually didn't when you take into account that all kaveh and alhaitham would do was bicker with each other day on day, play pranks or make it as difficult as possible for one another without actually exchanging a normal sounding sentence, once.
"what did you mean then?" casually, he settled back into the couch to withhold the long overdo smirk on his lips, leaning one hand over the frame, his eyes being currently fascinated by your cute lips, pretty eyes, attractive thighs and in confusion, scrunched up face.
or what about the skirt you were wearing, it neatly fit you and magnified your alluring curves, as if it was tailored just for your body to dress in.
what if you were to bend down right now, would the garment expose your cute panties underneath or was it just right, situated under your plump ass? keeping everything hidden from his hungry eyes.
your expression was being somewhat amusing, the hilarity of it all barely being able to be hidden.
"you know what? I'm leaving." attempting to stressfully remove the books off the wooden table, he quickly rose up to confidently sit upright, "wait."
"i assume you're kaveh's sibling?" the worst thing of it all was the tone in his voice, as if he wasn't actually asking you, just proving his own thesis. "yes."
you slowly pulled your shoulders back to appear more poised in your mannerism, standing upright when he suddenly shifted in his seat, scooting as to try to make some space for you.
"i'm alhaitham, though i don't think you've heard many good things about me." at the tip of his sentence, he gently tapped the now empty area next to him with his hand, beckoning you to take a seat.
what harm was there in doing that, right? it appeared as if kaveh wasn't home yet so you could spare some time to wait for him, with alhaitham, of all people.
his voice reverberated a deep, gentle timbre, as well as a controlling chime trussed around it.
you've quietly settled on the couch and exchanged names with him, you were wholly surprised to find such a man, that was for one, in all aspects different from what your brother had originally told you about and second, although he shared a couple intimidating peculiarities— which might be a natural revealing trait from his work, alhaitham was a clever, pleasant person to have a conversation with.
"kaveh is getting held back at the akademiya." he was idly finishing his drink, inconspicuously scurrying a couple inches closer to you.
"you can wait here if you want." you smile at his proposal, situating yourself within reach to better listen to him, "thank you so much, i will."
alhaitham hummed at your sense of utterance, his choice of words was well thought after, his body language too, turning it altogether more clear.
"who knew kaveh's sibling would be so well mannered." he added, understandably focusing on your lips or how they held a glint of sparkly lipgloss on top, "it's so different from him."
how would you taste like? the lipgloss he means.
would it be sticky on his lips? if he kisses you, or taste artificial, maybe a small amount of strawberries, the gloss faded in a translucent tone after all so all he could do was guess.
you're finding yourself awkwardly laughing at his words, "he's not always like that." nodding along, you decided to not dwell on it any longer, it was polite to bring forth your well mannered approach, after all he did open his doors for you ..
.. or you actually did, but he let you stay.
"i don't think kaveh is as polite as you?" he was lingering a bit closer now and for some reason you found the warmth his body set free pacifying.
you're able to fully glance over his facial features, focusing on the small dimples dwindling around the corners of his lips, his multicolored irises or the enticing cologne hanging in midst the air.
your nostrils were slightly flaring, involuntarily memorizing his scent, archons, you couldn't stop yourself from traveling into your thoughts, fighting every square in your body to halter yourself from drifting off into your daydreams.
"uh-" at first, you had no clue he was staring at you the whole, damn time, his hair strands were effortlessly falling around his porcelain skin, intently watching you through his thick lashes, "it depends on the person, i think."
"on the person you say." he trails off before smiling at you, a little coy and intriguing, the right corner of his lips being tucked back into a smirk.
you didn't even realize how close you two have been sitting next to each other by now, only being brought back to reality when you accidentally nudged your knee against his own, pulling in a sharp breath through your nose.
his scent was now heavily falling down on you, much more violent than before. A tease actually, that's what he was and you fell into it head first, your embarrassment cushioning your sweet cheeks with immense warmth as you disconcertingly pushed your thighs together.
so sweet, you never questioned yourself, and what about your brother? would he want you to fuck his roommate, or maybe, try and kiss him right now? and you know you shouldn't, obviously.
you could just fantasize about it after getting your ass up to leave this place, or this suffocating heat he effortlessly inflicted on you with nothing more than his pretty eyes delving daggers into your sweet skin.
but you wanted to taste it, the actual thing, his plump lips, you weren't this captivated by a person in a long time and it somehow scared you away, almost that is, because right now you were still sitting next to him, your knees playfully rubbing and nudging together.
his hand suddenly moves from his side to yours, gently being placed on top of your swaying thigh, massaging the soft skin when he noticed your slight shaking.
you returned his call, attempting to close the distance when he suddenly spoke again, "what would your brother say to this?" you only realize his hand wandering down more close when he rubbed painfully slow circles into the insides of your warm thigh, "would he be surprised, mad or furious?"
you're whining, he didn't even touch you on your burning little sensation and you were already helplessly heaving out, soft cries prickling from your throat to escape your lips.
"he doesn't have to know— please." this whole situation had your body tear each square of control off you and you were wondering what you were begging for in the first place.
perhaps to alhaitham— to keep his mouth shut in front of your brother, or maybe, you were additionally begging him to finally touch your clothed pussy with the flimsy material of your panties being drenched with nothing but your slick.
"Mm, please?" he's acting innocent, gently tipping his head to the side as his hand delved deeper, carefully pushing past your skirt, cupping your wet heat at once. "ah— there we go."
a single finger worked against you as you silently cried out, resting your forehead against his own while spreading your legs a little farther away.
it's only his middle finger but it still felt big, his build was remarkable and you could perceive a couple veins accentuating the back of his muscular arm rubbing circles on your clothed clit.
"you're wet there." he notes almost immediately, "what were you thinking about this whole time?" oh how sweet you were, the ticklish sensation of his knuckles ghosting on your skin had you giddy on the inside, your toes curling in your shoes. "n-nothing."
you deny whatever he thought about yet alhaitham knew better than this, way better, the amount of essence that coated his fingertips was too much evidence for you to blatantly repudiate his questions.
"pull up your shirt." he's fast, whispering against your neck when he instantaneously planted wet, open mouthed kisses on the thin skin, roughly slithering his tongue over it.
you do as he commands, quickly discarding your shirt but not completely, only letting the garment clutch over your breasts that were covered by your bra.
"good girl." you're trembling at the nickname, in your seat greedily burying your hands into his soft hair to pull him closer to your neck, letting him plant gentle bites and nips on you while simultaneously skimming his finger over your shielded folds.
"can you—" before you could finish, you stopped yourself from speaking, your attention being redirected by your sensitive little clit being pinched on.
you're throwing your head back at the slightly painful, yet fiery touch on you, "ah, please, more!" the anticipation in you to finally have his fingers deep inside your pussy, stirred up the adrenaline in your blood, yanking one of your legs over his own as alhaitham pulled you closer.
"more?" you clearly caught his interest, he lightly taps your clit with his middle finger before adding another one, your thighs instantly jolting up at the applied friction of another digit. "like this?"
"yeah— like this." you weakly responded, your voice a tone higher, alhaitham huffed out his warm breath on your damp neck that was wholly and sloppily glazed with his saliva when you smiled airily at him, resting your head against his comforting shoulder.
you're suddenly crying out, biting back a delicate whine when he gingerly hooked his fingers into the garment to at last, meet your exposed cunt, licking his lips at the sight.
if only your face wasn't so mesmerizing to look at while he's scissoring your tiny hole, alhaitham wanted to map it all out, your little pussy, every single inch, embed it into his perverted mind and jerk himself off at the thought of it afterwards.
he's greedily pulling your panties down, letting the flimsy material loosely dangle around your ankle as he positioned your leg back up on his own, watching your fluttering hole clench down on his curled up fingers.
if it wasn't for his other hand holding you open you were sure you would've suffocated the blood in his other arm by the way you wanted to push your thighs together around him, messily riding his digits with your bare cunt.
"i love how you feel down there." he shamelessly threw into the room, as if he didn't even care how shameful this situation was in its entirety, "you feel so good clamping down on me like that."
he smiles when he caught you yank your hips up a bit, meeting his pace midway, the raw squelching sounds of his fingers selfishly digging into your squishy walls rang through the big living room, your eyes squiring a glassy expression by the force alhaitham was going for.
"what if your brother comes in now?" at this, you reasonably gasped, desiring to actually smack that stupid grin off his face, "d-don't say that!" you mutter inaudibly as you're tucking him closer, your breasts cramming onto his chest when he looked at you, "really now?"
"imagine poor kaveh sitting on this couch afterwards." alhaitham heaved, abruptly pecking your lips when you deducted that this was the first time he had kissed you, at all, "the same couch I'm finger fucking his sibling on, right now."
you're moaning out screaming when he added a third and final finger, splitting your tiny hole with his thick digits and curling up, nudging the hammering spots deep within in your creamy walls.
his inappropriate choice of words had your mind turn hazy, liquifying all the rational thoughts in your body and turning them to nothing at all, dissolving them and replacing them with filthy, perverted things.
you could name it a carnal desire when you decided to hungrily kiss him, capture his plump lips with teeth colliding against each other.
it wasn't as tasteful as you thought it would be at first, the built up tension made it quite difficult to focus on two tasks at the same time, in addition to how hard alhaitham was fucking your tingling cunt.
yet alhaitham didn't mind, he wholly welcomed you, circling his wet muscle over your own as he pushed you deeper into the couch, adoring how your thighs began to vibrate from the sense of overstimulation he was capable to inflict on you throughout seconds.
how was it possible for him to be so good at this, so fucking skilled at pleasuring you senseless?
really, he only had met you today and you couldn't even remember another time when you were this needy, this wet and filthy minded because of another person.
"I think I'm close." you mewl out, your eyes being low lidded and beginning to strain from merely holding them open. Alhaitham snickered at your words, desperately suckling on your lips as he further amplified the tempo on your pussy. "close you say?"
he worked like magic, truly, it was addicting to be with him, the pleasure in you was heavily boiling, more so when your sensitive nipples began to roughly rub over the edge of your bra, your areolae being half exposed for his hungry, desiring eyes.
he was quick to pull himself away from your swollen lips, instead drawing himself to one of your nipples to encircle it in his warm mouth, greedily suckling in his breath to nibble on your tit while carrying on with his relentless pace on your cunt.
your lips twitch when you clasped them together, his finger pads grazing through the squishy flesh when your body tensed up, your hands having no other choice than to cradle around his neck, finally letting your orgasm wash over you.
"come on." his voice was raspy, "we're running out of time, you can do it, pretty." at his words you were helplessly scrunching your eyes shut, to half of his sentence you didn't even listen to, it was clear that the brutality of his touch alone would leave you sore, painfully sore but also yearning for him to do it once again.
you're limply grinding your hips into his hand a couple more times when you vehemently released into him, his palm being utterly drenched in your filthy slick while his thumb was carrying on to roll over your overstimulated clit.
you're moaning out his name, it felt silly to do it, to say it like that as if you were actually familiar with each other, contradicting the reality which was that you had just met him, not even hours ago.
"would you look at yourself." he purrs, alhaitham was lazily digging his fingers into your swollen cunt, captivated by your exhausted body listlessly leaning back, your chest heaving up and down and your thighs tightly clamping around his arm.
it was far too humiliating to look at him, to even speak back or say something.
because why, the moment you'd be brought back to reality, after a good fucking orgasm, all the problems would scrub over you in an instant, not even giving you additional time to bath in your deserved afterglow.
you noisily peaked between your legs with your loose cunt being still filled by his thick digits, noticing a dampened splotch underneath.
"you ruined my couch." he's noting before messily pulling out of you, his fingers being drenched in your sticky mess and quietly connecting to your cunt with a string of your essence holding you together.
"i— i didn't do it on purpose." you panic, not catching on that he was actually being sarcastic with you.
alhaitham for once, broke off the attention from your body, locating it to his soaked fingers before slowly opening his mouth, placing them on top of his tongue and closing his lips around it.
your eyes grew wide, the downright sinful look on his face had you hypnotized, another rush of excitement pistoling into you.
you find yourself staring without shame, drooling over the fact that alhaitham began to groan around his fingers, slurping them clean while searching for your gaze to hold them close to his own.
you were sure you were never going to get rid of this picture in your memories, you'll have it installed in your deepest depths forever.
when he was done, he carefully slid them off his lips, attempting to say something if it wasn't for a sudden noisy sound echoing through the heavy, of intimacy smelling, room.
you turned around in horror as you watched the door handle of the front door get pulled down, immediately alhaitham grabbed onto your shirt to drag it down your breasts, hiding your bare skin as he searched for a pillow to cover the obvious, painful erection in his pants.
"hey idiot, i'm home." the voice was sadly, very familiar, kaveh was now home.
kaveh? your brother! the one you were actually seeking out in the first place.
in a strive to look for your panties you lowered your gaze, yet being unable to spot them all over the floor when your brother walked into the living room at last.
"why is it so hot in here? oh—" his words instantly died in his throat the moment he had seen you sit next to his roommate, his eyes dramatically twitching, "what are you doing here?"
"what have you done?!" kaveh was quick to point whatever blame he could find on alhaitham, thankfully being oblivious to the fact that he rearranged your guts just a few moments ago.
"he did nothing, i promise!" you awkwardly laughed at the silence while clumsily getting up, innocently pushing your skirt down, "i was here to bring you your books and bumped into al— alhaitham!"
"no need to worry kaveh, i was only trying to make conversation." alhaitham sheepishly explained with an overly pleased smile on his face, yet not getting up, the big pillow resting on top of his pulsing crotch.
"whatever." kaveh rolled his eyes, being slightly irritated by the way you were so out of breath, deducting that alhaitham must've been a pain in the ass, overwhelming his poor, little sibling. "come on, lets get to my room."
as he went on to grab the books on the coffee table, you awkwardly ventured your gaze to alhaitham, just one last time, catching him stare at you before he playfully winked, darting his eyes away.
"lets go." kaveh was angry, cursing himself that he should've come home sooner, lightly pulling your arm so you'd follow him.
the moment alhaitham had heard the door of kaveh's bedroom close, he quickly disposed of the pillow on his lap, exposing your damp panties sticking to his pants.
you don't mind, do you?
you probably have a quite remarkable collection of underwear he has to see one day, until then, he'll give it his all to make good use of your panties ..
.. maybe even now, to fuck his stiff cock into the cloth while you're in your brother's room, without underwear, sore with your pussy still memorizing his slender, calloused fingers rubbing on your flesh.
yes, he might as well do it now.

The House of Daena was filled with the sounds of pages turned over and the quick footsteps of the students flitting from one bookcase to another. Furrowed eyebrows and downturned lips decorated each of their faces. The librarian seemed stressed out to navigate the flurry of students and assist them in finding books. Even a stranger could tell the obvious; examination season was right around the corner.
Alhaitham, the ex-Acting Grand Sage and current Scribe of the Akademiya, had his eyes glued onto his surroundings. Though his expression remained neutral, he couldn't deny the feeling of annoyance building up inside him. The library was way too noisy to be called one. It was a good thing that he was enjoying his read so far. Though, the choice of reading fiction was something that not a lot of people would expect from him.
Yes, he had a book titled "The Genius Falls in Love!" nestled in his hands.
He didn't really catch the eye of anyone. After all, it wasn't weird that the Scribe would spend his day in the library instead of his office. His work hours were long but he never really complied to them. That was something that the students were mighty jealous of. What they didn't know, however, was that his work was always submitted on time with the highest quality. A trait that most of them could only hope to achieve.
Alhaitham put on his noise-cancelling earphones. His eyes relaxed slightly as he could focus better on the book in his hand. He was already on chapter 22. An impressive amount of reading, given that he only received the book that morning.
His body rested fully onto the chair he sat on. He closed his eyes, remembering the sweet smile his wife gave him as she handed him the book.
'Here, honey!' she exclaimed, shoving a book into his hands. 'If you miss me at work, read this book I wrote! And tell me how it went, yeah?'
From the moment he stepped out of their shared house, he flipped the book open. 'Ridiculous,' he thought to himself. 'I always miss you when you're not by my side.'
And so off he went. He finished all the work he deemed urgent enough on that day, before immediately going back to reading. It was quite the comical sight, really. The stoic genius reading a fictional book? A romance, at that? Impossible. Utterly ridiculous.
And yet, here he was.
The work day passed by so quickly when he spent it reading. Before he knew it, the librarian came over to his spot and told him that the library was closing. Alhaitham immediately got up and left to go home.
--
The walk back was quiet and peaceful enough. The mere sight of his wife's face as she greeted him at the door was enough to make a smile appear on his face, no matter how slight.
"Honey! How was work today? What did you eat during lunch? Did you have time to read my book?" It was expected that his wife would bombard him with questions the moment he came home. However, she was special in every way. For instance, he would always answer each question she had calmly, no matter how frequent or stupid they may be.
"I'm back. Work was completed like usual today. I ate the lunch you prepared for me, and I'm halfway through your book, my dear."
His wife giggled at the thought of her husband taking some time out of his busy day to read her work. What she didn't know was that his day was scheduled around her, and never around anything else.
Until the traveler and Paimon had some interesting news to bring to her.
--
"Traveler, look! Is Alhaitham reading...a romance?"
Paimon's voice bounced off the walls of the House of Daena. She had successfully captured the eyes of many students, causing the traveler to put their hand over their head. Perhaps to block a headache induced by her lack of realisation that they were in the library.
Paimon's hands flew over her mouth right after the words were uttered. Her eyes seemed apologetic enough, darting over to the traveler as a silent apology. The traveler merely shot her an awkward smile.
It was a good thing that Alhaitham himself did not pay them any mind. The way his ears perked up slightly showed that he indeed heard Paimon, but perhaps chose to ignore them. However, the eyes glued to his person was quite bothersome, even for someone as stoic as him.
He shut the book in his hands quite loudly, hinting his irritation at Paimon. She only gulped and shot a panicked expression at the traveler, who deadpanned at her. The both of them stood still as they heard Alhaitham's footsteps approach them. He was getting closer and closer with each thud of his footsteps.
"I would appreciate if you did not point out whatever business unrelated to you." His voice was calm, just like his expression. His eyes told a different story all together. The traveler's flying companion could only apologise repeatedly, while the traveler shot him an apologetic smile.
After a few seconds of awkward silence between the trio, the Scribe walked away from the both of them. His right hand carried the romance book he was reading quite delicately, as if it was his most precious treasure. And it truly was.
Anything related to his wife was a treasure to him, and he would never forgive himself if he failed to appreciate even the simplest things about her.
--
"...and that was it! He seemed really annoyed that the Akademiya students were looking at him curiously." Paimon ended her story to Alhaitham's wife. She merely chuckled at the tale.
"Of course he was. He dislikes people getting into his business after all."
"Are you sure he isn't acting like that because he's embarrassed about getting caught reading something so...unexpected, of him?" The traveler furrowed their eyebrows as their companion asked such question with no hesitation. She really needed to learn to read the room sometimes.
Before she could answer, Alhaitham embraced his wife from behind. His eyes were calm, as if having his wife in his arms was all it took to make him feel tranquil.
"Do you really think I'd be reading such book in public if I were to be 'embarrassed' about it? Moreover, how could my lovely wife ever make me feel embarrassed?"
That was more than enough of an answer for the traveler and Paimon. They smiled sweetly at the response. The smiles were short lived, however, as Alhaitham sent them both out of his house, wanting to be alone with his wife.
Ah, well. There's no stopping a man in love, is there?
Thank you for reading! <3

Thinking about making a deal with Al Haitham to let you continue your studies just until you finish your final dissertation and then you'll go with him willingly to his house without a fuss and he agrees but you're now under so much surveillance from him it's near impossible to work at all on your essay
tw - implied non/con, manipulation, financial/psychological abuse.
i think alhaitham (al haitham? does anyone have a strong opinion on that?) is the type of controlling where, for whatever reason, he just cannot let you accomplish anything that doesn't lead you back to him. want to study a dead language in the desserts of sumeru? great, he's already planned and gotten permission for a field study on the same topic in the same area, you can come along as his assistant. want to get a job that might give you enough mora to get away from him? well, with your minimal experience and nonexistent connection, the only job you could ever hope to get is as the scribe's personal secretary and since your salary will be going through him, he might as well hold it on your behalf - just to make sure your childish whims don't get the best of you and leave you as bankrupt and as hopeless as some other scholars he could name. beg him on your hands and knees to let you graduate before officially making you his basement spouse? of course. he'll watch with a smile as you do your research and conduct your studies and write your papers, only to fuck you on the ashes of your hand-written dissertation the night before you defend your thesis. he knows what's best for you. he might indulge your little fantasies every now and then, but ultimately, he'll make sure you end up where you belong - in his arms <3
