"The Ghost and Molly McGee", Ten Years After

Molly’s ongoing work to improve the economic, cultural, and mental well-being of Brighton has earned her the love and respect of everyone in town, a few write-ups in statewide and national publications… and a full scholarship to the University of Iowa’s civil and environmental engineering program. She’s returned to Brighton, working for City Hall as assistant city planner (with her dad as her boss, which isn’t awkward at all, really) while earning her master’s online.

Molly wasn’t alone while she attended UI—Libby was her dormmate all four years that she was there. She earned a scholarship of her own, majoring in English. She also returned to Brighton after graduating, becoming a part-time reporter for the town newspaper while helping run her mother’s bookstore. All of this is in addition to her literary career. Matias, her father, took a second look at the fantasy novel she wrote and realized it was publication-worthy. It wasn’t a best seller, but the royalties from this and two other books Libby has written since let her live comfortably and pursue her passions in life. Her latest project is a series of books helping small children understand and live with the effects of divorce.

Molly and Ollie hit a rough patch after an admittedly stupid argument during their senior year of high school, and their two-month breakup proved just as hard on their respective families as it was on each other. They got back together just in time for graduation from Brighton High, only to part ways as Molly went to UI and Oliver headed for Iowa State. But they carried out a successful medium-distance relationship (it was only a two-hour drive between the two campuses).

Ollie has parlayed his experience as a researcher for his parents’ MeTube videos into a career as a freelance researcher for an assortment of psychological and medical foundations. While he travels all over the Midwest and occasionally beyond, he’s based out of Brighton… specifically, the rental house he shares with Molly. Ollie and Molly are practically married already, but their parents are eager for them to make it official. The couple are waiting a while to save enough money to stage the dream wedding and after-party they always wanted about without breaking the bank.

Several years ago, an ill-advised deal involving a shipment of counterfeit designer smartwatches and the Uzbek mafia landed Darryl in hotter water than usual. He’s lucky all he got away with was lockdown in juvie until his 21st birthday… which got commuted to two hundred hours of community service and time served due to an unexpected (and slightly suspicious) governor’s pardon. At any rate, the whole debacle soured Darryl on similar schemes. He’s kept his nose clean since then, barring a few school detentions. He takes business courses at a local community college with plans to transfer to a four-year institution this fall. His current side hustle involves promotions and advertising for assorted boutiques and under-21 nightclubs that have popped up in Brighton's revitalized downtown.

June lives away from home, majoring at Drake University. But she remains Darryl’s best friend, the only person outside his family who’s consistently been there for him after his schemes blew up in his face—figuratively and almost literally; she was the one who detected that leak in the ammonium nitrate storage tank Darryl stashed out near the water tower. They even dated for a while before mutually acknowledging the situation was “weird” and deciding they were better off as friends. On a related note, maybe Esther shouldn’t have paid out all that money to have her wedding dress remade.

Pete and Sharon are still happily married. Pete takes great pride in the improvements he’s helped make for his adopted hometown of Brighton, and he’s especially flattered that his daughter is following in his footsteps. The town’s successes have become Pete’s successes—in the last ten years, he’s fixed up the family home and bought his first non-used car. He’s even dusted off his vinyl for a few gigs at some of the new clubs downtown. Meanwhile, Sharon offers painting classes at the local community center and retirement home. These days, she primarily uses her Gig Pig account to set up painting parties in and around town, sometimes as far out as Perfektborg.

The Chens’ enlightenment about the true nature of ghosts has led them to step away from their “Ghost Chaser Chens” MeTube channel. Ruben has had far more luck marketing his brand of small-batch root beer, now available in grocery and convenience stores all over the state. Recently, Esther inspired Ruben to introduce a “spiked” version flavored with Habanero peppers. Reception has been mixed.

Grandma Nin and her friend Patty are the self-described “Bad Girls of Brighton Hills”, but their adventures have proven more constructive than mischievous. They’ve organized concerts at the bandshell, joined the Senior Construction Crew on home-repair projects for needy families, and hosted a weekly potluck dinner/board game session in the home’s cafeteria. These dinners always feature Patty’s homemade gumbo—Nin helped her fine-tune the recipe so now it’s actually edible.

The McGees look forward to David and Emmie’s annual visits, a chance to catch up with family and connect with their heritage. The Thai lessons Molly took on Triolingo have helped her feel slightly more at ease when the Suksais come to call. Also, Sharon has tried practicing some Thai dishes, with Pete’s assistance and (critically) while Nin isn’t in the vicinity.

A year after Davenport’s closed its doors, the family rolled the dice and started a supermarket specializing in organic groceries, local produce, and hard-to-find foreign brands… items Bizmart couldn’t or wouldn’t accommodate. The gamble paid off, and Davenport's Turnip Patch sells and ships to customers across the region—yes, even to Perfektborg. (Sharon and Nin are frequent visitors since they carry Thai specialties like jackfruit, pandan extract, and even durian.) Andrea maintains the store’s computer systems but pointedly avoids appearing in advertising. She’s back on her socials, but not as an influencer. Her “Girl Code” series on MeTube provides tips and tricks for entry-level coding enthusiasts. The videos feature occasional cameos by her girlfriend Alina, who’s also taken an interest in the subject.

Three months after Scratch cast off his Chairman’s robes, they settled upon the recently departed spirit of a retired manager of an IRS branch office. Since then, the Ghost Council has basked in bureaucratic bliss, leaving the denizens of Ghost World alone and happy. Not long after Todd left, Molly conducted a séance and told Geoff what happened to Scratch. He realizes it will be a while before he sees his friend again, but at least he has Jeff to keep him company.

Todd and Adia have photographed wild horse herds in Montana, kayaked off the Antarctic Peninsula, biked through Croatia, snorkeled with manta rays in Hawaii, and helped refurbish a centuries-old mosque in Brunei… and that’s just in the last year! Their adventures included a meditation retreat in India where Todd astrally projected his spirit out of his body for a few minutes. He “came back” talking about a young lady back in Brighton who showed him how to live even though he was already “dead”. On their next swing back to the United States, Molly is the first person they plan to visit.

Geff (Geoff x Jeff) Analysis -Tgamm

Geoff and Jeff were introduced as a couple in the episode ¨The Afterlife of the Party¨. In that episode Scratch spends most of the episode trying to avoid Geoff while he is at what he thinks it is ¨Jeff's part¨. Near the end of the episode it is revealed that the party is for their anniversary of being 100 years together since they became a couple, something that Scratch didn't pick up until it was brought up to him.

Geoff and Jeff get along pretty well and are usually seen hanging together in multiple episodes. This makes sense since their personalities are quite alike: They both are extroverted, easy going and overall friendly. So far they have never been shown to have arguments on screen, implying that they are able to work things out in a healthy manner.

Geoff is the more ¨emotional one¨ of the two, an aspect that Jeff likes about him. Jeff has described Geoff as ¨sweet¨ and he is usually seen putting an arm around Geoff in a affectionate manner. The two are often affectionate physically with each other, such as it is hugging or kissing. Geoff described Jeff as ¨awesome¨ in ¨The Afterlife of the Party¨ and didn't blame Scratch for wishing to go to ¨Jeff's party¨ and lying to him about being sick.

Jeff is very protective of Geoff. He warns people who attempt hurting or lying to Geoff to not mess up with him again. Near the end of ¨The Afterlife of the Party¨ Jeff shapeshifted into his scare form and demanded Scratch to ¨answer through him¨ next time he wants to mess up with Geoff. In ¨Frightmares on Main Street¨ he carried Geoff when he wasn't able to make a proper ghost portal and tried making one himself only for them to be trapped by Ruben and Esther. Ollie later frees him and Jeff leaves clear that if he tries doing something like that again he ¨will end him¨.

In contrast to Geoff, who is very forgiving and rarely holds a grudge against someone, Jeff doesn't let others get scot free so easily. He is more firm and leaves clear to not mess up with neither of them again. However, once he makes himself clear, he goes back to his chill friendly persona again and moves on.

When it comes to Scratch, Geoff usually lets Scratch's behaviour slide quite a lot. He still forgives him and doesn't seem to care about Scratch sometimes putting him down or being rude to him. On the other hand, Jeff doesn't put Scratch's behaviour that easily. He is willing to call him out more and seems to be irritated by him. Jeff has less of a problem with being direct and honest to Scratch as seen in ¨Daverports in Demise¨. In general, he is a bit more sarcastic and gets frustrated more in spite of being a very chill guy.

On last point, it is possible that Jeff is one of the ghosts from the elite since he could hold a party in the Naughty Haunts club without any problem. When Geoff tried spending time in the club with Scratch in ¨Scare Tactics¨ it didn't take them long to be kicked out from there. This implies that Geoff is a ¨low class¨ ghost while Jeff is a very respect one. Despite this class differences, ghosts doesn't seem to care if ghosts from different classes are seen dating together like Geoff and Jeff.

In conclusion: Geoff and Jeff are a couple who have a healthy relationship with each other. They usually are see hanging out together, enjoying each other's company. While they share things in common, they also have certain differences, balancing each other's personalities.

Jumba x Pleakley. Growing up OBSESSED with the Lilo & Stitch movies and television series, these two were my OTP throughout my childhood and still a favorite of mine to this day. I love how they both bicker but also support each other and are apart of a found family trope.

Geff. Besides Scratch, Geoff is another favorite character of mine from TGAMM, so when I found out he had a partner, I was ecstatic. Both his and Jeff’s dynamic with each other is so sweet and precious.

Roger x Jessica. I just adore the whole idea of this goofy character pulling in this drop dead beauty. And how Jessica will do anything for her husband but also how Roger is so devoted to her. And they’re both from my favorite movie so I had to pick them!

First Ship

Billy x Mandy. Honestly this ship can be either romantic or platonic for me because I just adore their dynamic with each other and I use to draw A LOT of ship art of these two back in my DeviantArt days when I was into Grim Adventures. They are probably the reason why I love opposites attract ships so much.

Hey Snook! I'm bored and just got reminded of a lot of the questions I had for your TBoBB AU over the past few months. Since I have time to kill, I thought I might finally ask you some of them (the questions that is lol)! 1. Is the curse Geoff put on Molly for her become half-leviathan when exposed to water permanent? Because there was nothing in the original post saying that it wore off or was reversed after this au's version of Molly vs The Ghost World (or even if it could be lol). no I am not coming up with mollie angst ideas around the concept of ollie seeing sea-beast molly no no I'm not 2. Is there a Ghost (Sea-Beast?) Council in this AU? If so, why? On the same page, is there still a scare report (or even an equivalent of a scare report in this au? Are they gonna summon a sea-beast and be like "eat X amount of ships per month or we're gonna send you to hell <333 bleh <333") 3. What would Jinx be? (aka: what is the equivalent of a joy-hunter in TBoBB?) 4. Lastly, since most of my other questions are just "What would X episode be like in this AU?" and I don't want overload you with a bunch of those, I'll just stick to one! What would this AU's version of "Frightmares on Main Street" be like? ... yeah that's the end of the ask

1: it is permanent. It only activates with a large amount of ocean water but Yes it is permanent. And don't worry, I've also been considering the idea of Ollie catching her when she turns too... So many possibilities

2: there is a council but they're arguably more like parasites to the much larger Leviathan/Chairman in power at the time. Basically, the OTC would send mental signals to the other beasts (perks of being an Eldritch horror) telling them to go out and kill (kind of like the Bewilderbeast in HTTYD2 if youre familiar with it) or that his territory was in danger. Buuuut most of the time they just do it on their own. Not a lot of big game in the ocean and those cargo boats start looking mighty tasty after a while 👌 not really any scare reports or documentation to prove they've been sinking ships but usually they can tell when a sea beast is slacking when the humans start to become more brave. They want to keep up the fear and stigma around the concept of sea beasts to keep humans out of the ocean (because they're dangerous but mostly because they're annoying with their big ass boats and skirmishes) I can't remember if I ever decided a stand-in for the fofp? I remember where we put the frightmares but I don't remember if I ever decided on a flow concept other than the chairman kills you 💀 and that's kinda a bummer

3: Jinx is there to assist struggling beasts with their human problem. Humans are crafty! They're advancing in technology every day, it's hard for a little ol limbless creature to keep up. But Jinx is craftier. She has a reputation for sinking ships specifically designed to hunt sea beasts. And she's good at it. Someday I'll finalize a design for her, the concept my friend gave me was really pretty

4: it would go like this;

Ollie had seen Molly and Scratch goofing off together from the lighthouse and decided to warn her about the dangers of sea beasts. She's probably never had the same hands-on experience with beasts as him and his family have (even though they've never caught one), she probably has no idea how dangerous they are. He thinks he has to save her.

He spots her loading up a small ship to go see Scratch (huge ass bucket of fish gave it away) and decides to stow away under one of the seats. After shoving off and getting a good distance from shore, he makes himself known (scares the shit out of Molly) and tells her all about how evil and violent the beasts are just as Scratch makes his appearance. (Now it's Ollie's turn to get the shit scared out of him) He's swatting at him and chucking random objects from the boat at him while Scratch is completely unphased, although getting frustrated, and yells at him to stop freaking out. The commotion attracts the attention of some frightmares (more akin to 4ft long piranhas with translucent skin) and they swarm the boat. Scratch tries fighting them off but he knows the only way to get them to leave is to go Leviathan mode (but that shit HURTS)

He tells both kids to close their eyes (they do not) and starts the transformation with dark clouds rolling in. It doesn't take much to scare them away afterwards but Molly is (understandably) freaked out and Ollie is mortified. He thinks he's completely justified and that Molly will finally see the true face of this monster (even if they're probably about to die) but as he gently approaches the ship and cranes his massive head down to look at them, he just asks in a raspy, otherworldly voice if they're okay. Molly says yes. Ollie can't form English words right now.

Scratch, exhausted, lets himself sink into the ocean as his detransformation process begins and Molly finally gets to put her hands on his shoulders and say sea beasts aren't bad. Just... Some of them. They're like people. If people were giant, noodly, scaly things. Shaking, Ollie says he understands. But it's going to take him a while to process. He swears not to say a word to his family.

well, I will be honest, I made this account like two years ago, and forgot, till I searched off tumblr. @scoffrocks represented tgamm ship scratch x geoff, or scoff, and I wanted to post images I found on the internet about the ship.

But as I found my old account again, I realized I've lost it for two years, and posted my first oc/fankid art on here
