Reflection of You AU-

While doing an archaeological dig, Sonic found an old artifact that gave him a curse.

It was very strong, tormenting the hedgehog day by day, and no one knew how to help him.

…By coincidence, Sonic was taken to Mephiles, who lived on the edge of an unknown interdimensional wasteland. Demon said that the only way to break the curse was to kill everyone Sonic cared about. Guy was against it.

But still, pain tormented him and tore him apart from the inside out. Nothing worked for the hedgehog, so he made the decision to kill Eggman. And so he did.

But the act did not free the hedgehog from the Curse, which was making him worse and worse, making him beastly with pain.

The hedgehog decided to make a second visit to Mephiles.

But when he's arrived at the demon's domain, the demon was hosting an unusual guest. Sonic remembered the treacherous things that Mephiles did, and decided to overhear his conversation.

The demon was talking to a powerful dark demigod who had been Mephiles' buddy for years.

It turned out that Mephiles had purposely enchanted the artifact so that Sonic would obey him, getting into the taste and becoming a bloodthirsty monster.

As soon as the hedgehog heard this, he destroyed the demon on the spot in a rage.

But the Curse went nowhere. And Sonic was desperate!

It was a good thing he had met Shadow.

The black hedgehog began traveling the world with him to find a way to crack Sonic's curse, and soon they learned that the Seven Emeralds of Chaos and the Master Emerald would help him heal. But it's worth the rush! Sonic's time is running out, and the emeralds are hidden all over the planet.

The end of the story is still open, and the hedgehogs are searching for their emeralds. Hopefully, they will make it.

Mecha Troubles AU-

AU where in Scrapnik Island Mecha Sonic had successfully swapped minds with Sonic.

Mecha Sonic is able to do everything Sonic could (spindash, harness the Chaos Emeralds powers, etc). However, being a robot, is really great with tech, able to hack into anything, or reprogram anything. He is also able to send signals to things (since he IS still technically a robot).

He is not cocky or snarky like Sonic was, he usually never speaks unless he really needs too. He will plan ahead of things, being a thinker and not leaping into things first.

Unlike Sonic, who fights as if its a game and will go easy on them, Mecha does not, fighting fast, swiftly, and without stopping for anything else, viciously attacking if needed. Before making physical contact with anyone in a fight, he will instead use his speed to his advantage to sneak up upon an enemy, bouncing back and forth until successful. Usually shows no emotions.

His main goal is to end Dr. Eggman, and will eliminate anyone that gets in his way.

Another Scrapnik Island AU (and an observation)

So I had another AU idea yesterday that I spent a few hours on drawing (it's not done yet) but I'm mostly bringing it up now because of an observation I made. That observation being that, besides Mecha succeeds AUs, I haven't found any other Scrapnik Island AUs besides mine. Looked up "Scrapnik Island AU" n everything.

Anyways the actual AU aspect takes place during when Mecha tries to swap their minds. Right before Mecha gets interrupted by the Scrapniks, Sonic (somehow) manages to break free and goes to attack Mecha with a spindash.

But this has unforeseen consequences...

You know how there's a bunch of discarded Eggman tech everywhere? And perhaps maybe even in the room the swap attempt takes place?

Well what if, in his shared attempt to stop Mecha, they manage to knock some kind of very complicated and one of a kind device, making it malfunction?

The unforeseen consequence? Mecha, Sonic, and the three Scrapniks that jumped into the fray to stop Mecha, get fused.

And it's not a pretty one either. (Mentions of body horror below)

His insides are a mish mash of mechanical and natural ones, skin peeling in places to make room for it. Blue quills randomly and sporadically become a rusty brown color. One of his eyes is just a socket with a barely moveable mechanical eye inside it. His hands and a leg are all messed up due to the fusion of mechanical parts, impairing his mobility severely.

And to make that last one even worse? Those mechanical parts can't just simply be replaced with something more stable and practical.

Not only are they fused to him, but they're made of bone.

No but this is such a cool idea. The only reason Sonic didn’t get mind-swapped was because of the Badniks, but if they hadn’t intervened or if they did just a second later, Sonic would’ve been gone. Physically at least. And Mecha would’ve taken over the world in Eggman’s favor. But… Just think about what could’ve happened if Mecha still had that side of him that fought against his core programming, the side that was saved and loved by Scrapnik Island. Think about the implications of three minds fighting for just one body. Think about all that…

Yknow what, im being prude- here’s a list and plot synopsis of ever single of my Sonic AU’s! I did remove my Sonic EXE AU’s though-

1. Next Era AU: The descendants of three heroes from 1000 years ago answer a calling, and must now train under the guidance an ancient Shadow in order to prepare for the rising of iEgg! A virtual back up of Eggman that’s been lying dormant.

2. Gem AU: A Steven Universe style Sonic AU. All mobians are gems, and humans are still humans. Follow Blue Emerald (Sonic) and his brother Yellow Pearl (Tails) as they escape their homeworld to live on earth

3. Team Swap AU: All the members in each team have been swapped in terms of species and back story. Sonic|Shadow, Tails|Rouge, Kncukles|Omega, Amy|Espio, Big|Vector, Charmy|Cream.

4. Adopted Swap AU: An AU my friend let me adopt. All character species are swapped! But within the teams. Sonic’s a speedy fox, Tails is a smart hoglet, etc etc-

5. Chaos Radiation AU: After Sonic absorbs 6 botched attempts at recreating Chaos Emeralds, he unknowingly unleashes an outbreak. A mix of chaos energy and radiation deforming the bodies and minds of all that are infected with this plague.

6. Raggedy Duo AU: a fun little au where I take Raggedy Ann and Andy but make it sonic! No plot. Just vibes.

7. Project Fusion AU: G.U.N. Never caught and cryogenically imprisoned Shadow. With their Project Shadow missing, the government works to recreate him. No, make a better creation. A true ultimate lifeform. And after years of searching, they find three perfect subject. A fast blue hedgehog, a smart yellow fox, and a rarity.. a red echidna. The three subjects are taken, tested on, and ultimately taken apart for their vital assets and mashed together into Project.Fusion.

8. Storybook AU: A story book adventure in which Sonic travels into the strokes of Greek Mythos! Guided by Hephaestus (Greek mythology Tails), Sonic embarks on a mission to save Mount Olympus from an unknown evil.

9. MOSTH AU: Follows a canon divergence where Sonic and Tails failed against Supreme High Robotnik in AOSTH. Tails is imprisoned and used as a hostage against Tails. A reminder of what he has to loose and what he works for the privilege to see. Sonic agrees to do Robotniks bidding across the multiverse in order to ensure Tails’s wellbeing. Even at the cost of his own health.

10. Abysm AU: Post Sonic Frontiers, Sonic agrees to guard the Master Emerald for Kncukles so he can go see the world. Days turn to weeks, then months, then a whole year. Sonic’s not used to being anchored down for long. And with no word from his friends in months he can’t help but feel… forgotten.

11. Feral AU: take Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles and make em feral creturs. Thats it.

12. Cryptid AU: take Sonic, make him a cryptid. Bada bing bada boom baby-

13. Sonic Saviors AU: A sonic forces rewrite that takes the original story of Sonic Forces, beats it with a bat, shoves it into a blender, and somehow makes it better :]

14. Background AU: an au focusing on background character version of team sonic. Follow Audio the Hedgehog, Myles Tail Preston, and Fists the Porcupine as the drift around the world as self proclaimed adventurers!

15. Prototype AU: take all the prototype versions of the sonic cast and make them the main characters.

16. Project Sonic Speed AU: My first Sonic AU. In a world where Sonic the Hedgehog is created as an agent of chaos for the Eggman empire by Dr Robotnik, the world turns out very different.

17. Mecha Takeover AU: An AU where Mecha Sonic from the scrapnik island comics succeeds in taking over Sonic’s body, and leaving Sonic’s mind in his old trash heap of a body.

18. Rubberhose AU: Take Sonic characters and put them in a Rubberhose 1900’s animated world.

20. Sonic Boom Isekai AU: A au based on a disassociative episode I had where I isekai’d myself into Sonic Boom. Yeah I don’t know either man.

21. (Not) Imposter AU: A newer AU of mine I’ve been cooking. Instead of “creating” surge and kit, Starline decides it would be much easier to simply modify the originals (Sonic and Tails).

22. TMOSTH AU: an AU that follows Barry after TMOSTH as he stays friends with Tails and even becomes a confident rock star!

23. Pony AU: Take sonic characters. Make them Ponies.

24. Sonic Unity AU: an apocalyptic Sonic world witha cyberpunk vibe. Also everyone’s human.

25. Lost World Rewrite AU: a rewrite of Sonic lost world that gives a better story, zeti lore, and it snowballed into me and my friend rewriting all of Sonic canon from Sonic Lost world onward.

26. Sonic Zero 6 AU: a rewrite of Sonic 06 where Sonic and Elise are grow a sibling like bond throughout their adventure to stop Mephilis the Dark from releasing the flames of disaster. However a naive and deceived hedgehog from the future is always interfering.

27. Amnesia Gang AU: A sonic frontiers AU I made before the game came out. Basically no one’s trapped in cyber space, but Sonic and friends do all get amnesia after their crash, their memories imprisoned and locked away in cyberspace.

28. Chaos Guardians AU: an au where as young hoglet and fox cub, Sonic and Tails crash onto Angel Island during a storm. Their plan is beyond repair. And what’s worse, the echidna warrior living there doesn’t seem to like their presence. But they grow to develop a close sister hood and all three of them become guardians of the Master Emerald.

29. Sonic x TMNT AU: it’s in the name. I’m not writing all that rn-

30. Chaos Born AU: An Au where the chaos emerald created Sonic. Their his moms. At some point Sonic got seperated from them, but would reunite with them after Sonic 1.

31. Heart Island AU: An AU for my OC Kora Hedgehog :] cuz I can.

32. Escape Room AU: An AU where TMOSTH is an escape room instead! Yippee!

33. Dirty Hedgie AU: hi took the line from the sonic movie “So what were you expecting? A dirty little hedgehog eating berries and struggling to survive” and said it’s free real estate.

34. Axel & Lilith Adventures AU: an AU focusing on my OC Lilith and my friends OC Axel as they traverse the multiverse via phantom ruby. Only to have an enemy in a being known as Eternal block their way home.

35. Sonic X FNAF AU: … it’s in the title.

36. SB Ebony AU: A sonic boom au for my Sonic boom oc Ebony the merchant made. He’s fun.

37. AI AU: an au I made entirely using AI.

38. Orbed AU: an AU where remnents of dark Gaia remain throughout the world in the shape of crystal orbs. They grant great power and might, but corrupt the user in the process. Sonic must find and destroy them all… and sometimes killing the weilder is a must.

39. Zara Zeti AU: au for my Zeti OC. Cuz I love her.

40. 8-Bit Failure AU: remember the bad end for the 8-but Sonic 2. What if that were canon? Thats what this AU explores.

41. Reunion AU: set 20 years after Sonic Frontiers, everyone reunites to catch up and resume their adventures!

42. Split Souls AU: after his adventure in SATBK, Sonic can’t just leave this world with no King Arthur. So, using a bit of old magic, Nimue is able to split Sonic into two. Two being identical Sonic sharing one split soul. One Sonic leaves to resume life in his world while the other stays to be king. They must reunite once a year on their birthday and become one again in order to stay stable.

43. Boom Chaos Guardian AU: *sobs* I promise I’ll finish the fic for this au I’m trying-

44. Celestial Bodies AU: a mostly scrapped AU where I take Sonic characters and make them celestial bodies. Sonic’s the Sun, Tails is the moon, Knuckles is Mars, Shadow is the Black Comet, etc.

45. Underground Boom AU: An AU in which Sonic Underground and Sonic boom take place in the same universe. Sonic has long since found his mom and helped his triplet siblings take back their kingdom and stop the evil Dr Robotnik. But being a prince isn’t something he was intent on. After a falling out with his family he leaves his kingdom and ditches his prince status to live on a small lone island, befriending a fox, echdna, another hedgehog, and a badger. And he even has himself a low time villain to keep busy with. Dr Eggman!

46. Void AU: Shadow fails to get Sonic to green hill in time. Sonic fades away, ceasing to exist, and yet, refusing to stay gone. Tethered in the void as a mere spirit, he can only watch and spectate the Shatterverse and his home.

47. Villain Boom AU: Take Sonic and Tails from Sonic Boom, make them big time villains with tragic backstory’s.

48. Shattered Self AU: basically my sonic prime fic. Sonic gets shattered along side his world, ending up a hollow husk with his time running out with every move he makes.

49. Gaia Reincarnated: Sonic, but make him Light Gaia reincarnated.

50. Shadow Frontiers: after being sucked into cyberspace, the whole cast ends up trapped. Leaving a certain ultimate life form to go searching a month after everyone seemingly disappears.

Sometimes I think I’m normal…

Other times I remember that I have 56 (and counting) Sonic AU’s with fully fleshed out story’s, character arcs, etc and get humbled real fast-

Starry AU-

In this world eggman left for the stars after sonic messed him up the first time in his absence GUN took the position of the worlds villains using the misguided mindset of “gotta control everyone, it’s the only way to keep them safe”

His personality is basically if you take Sonic’s main personality traits and dial them up to 10. He’s completely uncontrollable, always searching for thrill, impulsive, but has a heart of gold. He doesn’t take most situations seriously, but when a line is crossed he’ll show that he’s actually very perceptive. he has a fear of tight constraining spaces, water and a abnormal, persistent, irrational fear of failure.

What started out as a funny post has now turned into my own take on if Mecha succeeds with the body swap attempt in the Scrapnik Island series. One might even say it's a(nother) new AU.

Also looking back at what I wrote, this ended up reading more like a fic with the amount of details and certain wording so i just went "screw it" and changed some things to make it read like one.

Mecha opened Sonic's his newly acquired eyes.

For a moment he wondered if it had worked. That moment barely lasted though, the answer quickly becoming obvious with the overwhelming amount of new sensations he felt.

Things like the uncomfortable feeling of the cold and hard metal he's on, his sight not being as clear as it once was, the feeling of cloth on his new hands and feet, his thoughts not being straightforward and easily calculating as they once were.

Despite all the downsides there was a grin plastered on his face. It worked! There was a strange, unfamiliar, yet good feeling inside himself.

'Is this what real happiness feels like?' He thinks to himself.

He tries goes to sit up... and quickly realizes he didn't take something into account. Well, he technically did, it's just that he didn't anticipate this particular outcome.

He's struggling to move.

And not due to the restraints. No, he had already took that into account and planned ahead. It would be foolish of him not to account for it. Therefore he made it so that seconds after the mind swap took place, the restraints would unlock.

This was something different. His limbs weren't functioning properly. Not moving right.

He'd try to move an arm up and it would only move one part of that arm. Then when he managed to actually move it up, the arm would soon go totally limp and fall sideways. Almost like a ragdoll.

He ignores the small clanging he hears.

No longer did he feel happy, as a new emotion rised in it's place. Anger in the form of frustration.

'Why is this happening?! This should be easy!'

But he failed to account for the fact that he's been a robot up until recently, and therefore things might work differently.

And then there's the other, much worse, thing he didn't quite account for...

The pain.

Being a robot, Mecha had never actually felt pain before. He thought that the pain stuff couldn't be THAT bad. As long as he's careful he should be fine, right?

Yeah... no.

Sometimes when one of his arms falls back down, it hits the metal below him and it hurts. And if he moves the injured leg too much it starts to sting. Then there's the noise he keeps involuntary making when he's in pain.

'Whimpering, perhaps?'

A strange garbled and distorted noise comes from nearby. He'd momentarily forgotten, another thing he's quickly come to hate about being organtic, the fact that his old body now had a new occupant.

There was some repeated clanging that followed shortly after.

'Is Sonic trying to move as well?'

Another new emotion swells within him at the other's failed attempts. The need to persist, to not let all his efforts go to waste. He's determined see this through.

'Dammit, I can't let Sonic win! This can't all be for nothing!'

So he tries to move. To get up. He tries and tries and tries as he bares through the pain. It seems so easy to just give up but he has to keep trying!

Finally, after what feels like forever, his efforts are finally starting to pay off. He's still shaky but he's gained some semblance of control over his new limbs. Unfortunately he's by no means mastered it yet.

This would soon become painfully obvious...

When Mecha had finally made it to the edge of the table he had been lying on he was filled with excitement. The thought that he's so close to leaving was exhilarating. Finally, his efforts would pay off!

Too distracted by the idea of finally getting out of there, he goes to take a step of the table. The excitement was short lived as the moment he steps foot on the floor, he falls face first into it.

"AAACK!"

It was very painful. Almost every part of his face hurt now and he hates it so much.

He manages roll onto his back and is confronted with another new sensation. Something is in his eyes, falling onto his cheeks. There's a brief moment of confusion when it dawns on him.

'Im crying, aren't I? With how horrible I feel right now it would make sense...'

Mecha just lays there on the floor, completely exhausted and unmoving.

'I'm so tired.'

Tired of the pain, the new sensations, the emotions.

'It wasn't meant to go like this..."

It's all just too overwhelming and he hates the feeling.

'How do organics manage to function like this?' He wonders. Almost everything about it is horrible.

'Chaos, could this day get any worse?'

Apparently the universe hates him, because the answer to that is yes.

Tails just found them.

As Sonic finally comes to awareness, he immediately notices how wrong everything is.

How foreign his body felt, how his limbs were heavy, how he could barely move right. Then there was oddest part of all it all... his thoughts.

They were sharp, clear. Like a fog in his brain had been lifted. Thoughts processed fast and without hesitation.

All at once he's aware of millions of things he shouldn't know. Things Tails has told him that he didn't understand now made complete sense. And despite the sheer amount of information he's now aware of, he isn't overwhelmed in the slightest.

Memories could now be recalled in almost perfect detail. Any gaps in said memories were filled in as if there had never been one to begin with.

Even though he had only become 'awake' a few seconds ago, he's already processed everything around him. Most notable was the movement up ahead. He never actually saw any movement though. Yet he's somehow certain there's movement up ahead. It's like he can... detect it.

And he's immediately aware of the why. Motion sensors. It makes sense given he's now a robot, as much as he hates to think about it.

Sonic tries to look up at the source but only gets his head to go up a tad before falling back down.

After a few tries, he's able to look up for a few seconds to see his body moving of it's own accord. There's only a millisecond of confusion before he realizes knows why. It's because Mecha Sonic is in control of his actual body.

Now he needs to get up, has to stop Mecha, but moving was hard. Everything felt clunky and heavy. Once again he knows why.

It was due to the fact that he's currently occupying a foreign body. Thankfully it appeared as though he wasn't the only one having difficulties. Mecha was clearly struggling as well.

Since Sonic thinks knows it would take a while to learn to move in his new body, he concludes that it would be best to try other methods of stopping Mecha.

Only one alternative was currently available in his decision tree: Shouting for assistance. The fact he has a decision tree was strange in a way. It felt natural but he knows it's not normal.

Despite not wanting to shout for assistance because it's embarrassing, he was left with no other alternatives. So he tries to call out for Tails... but what comes out is all garbled and distorted.

Surprised by the noise that he just produced, a part of his mind, the part that still makes him Sonic, reflexively tries to cover where his mouth would be in shock. Yet instead of doing that his arm goes up a little, manages to move slightly in the desired direction, right before falling onto his lap with a loud clang.

The fact he hadn't even flinched at the noise or the contact with himself was strange. A clang like that should've at least hurt his ears and yet it didn't. As for the contact, he could barely feel anything. Yet the word feel wasn't quite accurate... It was more like he was able to register the contact he was making but couldn't actually feel it.

All just another reminder of the horrible situation he's in.

Then he hears a thud and he's once again aware of the fact that Mecha is controlling his body right now. At first he's on the edge of panicking (as much as a robot can) at the reminder, then he notices the fact that Mecha is face first on the floor.

Sonic knows he'd usually find it funny and yet for some reason he just... doesn't. Not a lot, anyways. The fact that Mecha was also struggling filled him with a sense of... triumph? A sick sense of glee over the other's suffering.

And he knows that's not like him. He's never taken actual glee over the suffering of others. At most, depending on the situation, he might find it funny. Usually in either a "I told you so" way or a "how that happened was really funny" way. Sometimes even a "well you had that coming way".

Plus he'd always make sure they're okay afterwards. But now? Now it was different.

He was only able to find it slightly amusing at most. And he had no real desire to make sure the other is okay, not even for the reason that it's his actual body that's getting hurt. There was a worrisome amount of emptiness where his concern should be. And that especially seems to go for his real body for some reason...

Except he does know the reason. He just doesn't want to acknowledge it.

I mean after all, even though he himself knows it's really Mecha in control of the body, it's his Mecha's programming's mission to destroy himself Sonic. And programming doesn't care about technicalities such as whose actually in control of the body. All it sees is his Sonic's body and knows it's mission is to destroy him.

And it's all so confusing and frustrating. Everything is different now and he doesn't feel whole anymore. Like a piece of what made him himself is replaced missing.

'It's most likely because I am a robot now. This sucks a lot... Not even my thoughts are really my own anymore. Everything keeps phrasing in a strange manner.' There was a pause as he realized he did it again. 'Ugh, just like that! Since when do I casually use the words phrasing and manner?'

One part of him wanted to attack his real body while the other just wanted to sit here and wait for someone to show up. He just reallh doesn't want to deal with this himself, okay?

His metaphorical prayer was answered, as Tails had just entered the room.

So i guess that's the end of that part! Ya know, I kinda feel like writing some more... But before I do that I wanna address a few things!

The first is in regards to my other Scrapnik Island AU. Anybody whose familiar with it might be wondering why Scrapnic/Sonic seems to function differently from the Sonic in this AU. I mean they're both robots so what's the difference? Well unlike in this AU, where it was simply a mind swap, Scrapnic was roboticized. His robotic body was made based around himself and is meant for him. While in this case Sonic is occupying a body not meant for him.

The second thing I wanna address is how Sonic and Mecha's new thought process works.

For Sonic, one half of his mind is still himself while the other is now robotic. To be more specific, one part of his mind processes things like normal while the other part processes it like a robot. Because of this his thoughts use words that he wouldn't typically as his robotic side needs to describe it more accurately. So he's still Sonic, he just processes things differently.

And then there's Mecha. At first he's giddy that he had succeeded and had been completely set on his mission. But the main reason that mission even existed was because of the influence from his leftover Eggman programming, something he no longer has. So little by little, struggle after struggle, he just doesn't see the point in trying to accomplish that mission anymore. He mostly just wants all these new sensations to go away. Especially the pain. :(
