quotes from SCP-1981
Tumblr media
Predictions for August 2024:
August 3rd: Kamala Harris has a highly publicised meeting with Taylor Swift were they publicly discuss politics with Swift showing surprising knowledge and eloquence . This is followed by very serious speculation from several outlets that Swift will be chosen to run as VP as a way to attract young voters . This is of course not true but a tactic from the Harris campaign to increase visibility with young people to and to bait Trump
August 5th: Trump takes the bait and launches into a truly vile attack on Taylor Swift
August 12th: An angry mob of Taylor Swift fans numbering in the hundreds storms a Trump meet and greet and following Dutch tradition they lynch him publicly and then cannibalise his body
August 20th: Yellowjackets and several others shows that feature cannibalism are cancelled because it’s considered insensitive in light of an US President becoming victim of cannibalism
August 30th : Brazil does extremely well at the Olympics

*watching SCP videos before bed*
Why can't I sleep? The stories aren't real until I close my eyes.
Close my eyes, just relax. To fall asleep you give up control of your motor functions. If you jerk back awake that's you panicking as you fall over the edge. There's no reason to panic.
You've been asleep before. You've let go of motor functions in bed before. Just fall back and release tomorrow's worries tonight. Fall back, unhinge your arms
and embrace the shiny sharp teeth of the abyss

173 Influential SCPs
I went to SCPper, found the most upvoted articles by users who've made at least one SCP, and sorted by time. These aren't necessarily the 173 best articles on the site, but I think they're likely to be the most influential. Longtime fans have probably read most or all of these but maybe this could be a starting point for newcomers.
I think sorting by time is important because the Foundation's been around almost 17 years. Writers come and go, trends come and go, new writers are influenced by what came before, and later articles are often longer and more complex than earlier ones. Just sorting by most upvoted bounces you around time; on the main wiki you read mostly series 1 articles then get dunked into SCP-5000. I hope this is a more natural progression, and that by the end people have more context for what's going on.
Using upvotes from writers only is important because the more writers like an article, the more likely later SCPs are to be influenced by it, so those articles are more likely to be important for understanding the wiki as a whole.
I might do an alternate version of this list that replaces the extremely long articles with shorter SCPs.
If you have trouble understanding one of the articles (some of the later ones get LONG), look it up on r/SCPDeclassified. If you would prefer audio narration/explanations, The Exploring Series and TheVolgun are both excellent. And of course, make sure to look in the sidebar on the wiki for guides, lists and explanations.

top 5 scps s'il vous please
hello alex this is a fantastic question & it sent me down a few pleasant hours of looking through favourite scps
[REDACTED PER PROTOCOL 4000-ESHU] (aka taboo): this is one of my all-time favourite pieces of short horror fiction. it’s a forest that cannot be named full of things that cannot be named & everyone should read it
scp-1981 (ronald reagan cut up and talking): a tape that shows a video of ronald reagan giving a speech while being slowly mutilated. i love this one. its simple and unnerving with no clear danger indicated
scp-414 : a degenerative condition in which one slowly loses the ability to maintain an identity or happiness without the presence of another person. one of my all-time favourite scps and very haunting imo
scp-2602, which used to be a library: a location which compels people to repeatedly reference the fact that it used to be a library. also an infohazard, my favourite type of scp
scp-3211: it’s a bit hard to describe this one. it’s an scp that you can only observe for six minutes, after which you forget everything about it and can no longer read anything you recorded about it. the page has a lot of meta elements.

Agent Vojtech Líška (lee - sh - kah) headcanons! (SCP OC) i know not alot of people know about him because i NEVER draw or talk about him, but i did draw him one time and i want to draw him more! tw: alcohol mention!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
now here's the info i have of him: he's an MTF agent (Gamma-4 - Green Stags), LOVES hunting, has served in the Slovak military, is 44 years old! (birthday is 28 september 1981) and his birthplace is Stará Lesná! (village in slovakia!)
of COURSE his favorite movie is full metal jacket ! (me too bro LOL)
speech wise, has a slight accent - he thinks it's not noticeable but BOY IT IS NOTICEABLE !!
this man right here LOVES ALCOHOLIC DRINKS SO MUCH! alcohol and cigs are his best friends! he loves beers, jägermeisters and baileys! Besides alcohol, he also loves kofola! (KOFOLA IS AMAZING)
since he's a mtf agent, he HAS to be strong and buff, so he goes in a gym or in his room to workout! fairly simple sets but effective!
he loves german metal! rammstein, eisbrecher, heldmaschine, oomph, ESPECIALLY EMIGRATE, you name it and its DEFINITELY in his playlist!
he's absolutely best friends with dr clef and dr kondraki! they share ALOT in common!
even though he's a buff and tough guy and most people are scared of him, he's actually soft and has a kind heart! he lets his little sister paint his makeup and give him bows, and he's willing to talk and smoke with any coworker! he just seems intimidating at first LOL
knows five languages: slovak, czech, english, polish and german!
he had a lab retriever that helped him with hunting! the dog's name was Boris!
With his love and passion for hunting, he has lots of animal decor in his room/office/whatever !! especially that little deer head statue people have on their walls YEAH HE HAS THATTT
for some reason he is AMAZING at card games! he has learned lots of tricks about card games in pubs!
he also LOVES gardening! he mostly grows stuff like herbs and radish!!
if you ever go out in the woods for a walk with him, this man WILL be taking pictures of the animals and unique plants there! he knows so much and its a LITTLE scary ..
oh speaking of walks, he often goes on walks in the nature! he loves especially remote nature areas, sometime rural areas!
while he's on these little nature walks, he likes munching on sunflower seeds or breadsticks!
when he was little, he loved going on little trips to Poprad Tatry, Štrbské Pleso or Starý Smokovec (i've been to these areas, they're DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!)
A NEW PERFUME HEADCANON BUT HE 100% WEARS THE WAIDMANNS HEIL RAMMSTEIN PERFUME!!!! JUST LOOK AT THE NOTES RAAAAAAAHHHHH ITS PERFECT FOR HIM
oddly specific but he loves the smell of chimney smoke, nicotine, basements and petrichor!
he has a mixed relationship towards the foundation! loves and hates it at the same time!
we all know how simon doesn't let his facial hair grow out because it was a habit he got from the army, but vojtech lets his beard grow out! he's not in the military anyway and mtf agents are allowed to grow facial hair (IN MY CANON!)
AS ALWAYS, you can ask me stuff about my ocs!!!!! questions are good anyway for character building!

The Shark Punching Center, the Selachiosk Pungix Combin, the Centre — whatever they're referred to as, they're a GoI that punches sharks that was born from the typo of SPC.
Much like the SCP Foundation itself, the SPC has no one single canon, but rather a series of loosely connected documents. All of them have one thing in common: a monomania for punching sharks. Beyond that, go wild. Some SPCs are set in the Foundationverse itself. Some are set in a full-on alternate universe with a full implied alternate history.
There are three main 'philosophies' when it comes to the SPC, with significant overlap.
The earliest approach, and still the most common, is jokes about shark punching. They're just a group of random people with no real characterization other than punching sharks. I don't have much to say about this beyond that. If you need a shark punched or a random act of violence against something or someone that resembles a shark, use the SPC. No one will question it. It's time tested, and people have done it with great success before.
The next approach is a focus on the sheer absurdity of the existence of people whose life's work is to punch sharks. The prime example of this would be S D LockeS D Locke's SPC-2935-J. This is pushing the idea to the extreme. These people will do anything to punch sharks, and the multiverse is more than willing to grant them the opportunity to do so. An alternate approach is Critter Profile: Wobbles!, where an agent of the SPC infiltrates a wildlife shelter. It's ridiculous and unexpected, as opposed to mere violence. And of course, PeppersGhostPeppersGhost's SPC-001 proposal, which answers the question of what happens when there are no more sharks to punch.
The final approach is jokes about shark punching but as a backdrop for cosmic horror. This approach originated with Djoric in SCP-1449, where the existence of the SPC arose from the death of an incredibly important cosmic shark and so reality became horrifically wrong.
This last approach is what MrWrongMrWrong embraced and revived when he created the SPC GoI format for SPC-2615 and SPC-2000, and it was similarly adopted by sirpuddingsirpudding in SPC-140 and SPC-682 and LORDXVNVLORDXVNV in SPC-1258 and SPC-1981. These articles take a darker view of the SPC—that they don't punch sharks because they want to, but because they have to. In this iteration, it's usually referred to as the Centre. (They don't like to say "shark".)
SPC-507 embraces the alternate worldbuilding set up in SPC-140 and SPC-1258, while SPC-3733 embraces the undertone of horror. These are people in a bizarre world, one that compels them to punch sharks.
It sounds absurd, and it is.
But imagine if you knew, with 100% certainty, that your life's sole purpose was to punch sharks.
You would laugh so you would not cry.

Absolute favorite historical SCPs are the ones that take a historical event or person but twist them around to be anomalous in some way. Like sure Johnny Appleseed was a Norse occultist, why the fuck not.
Tumblr media
Some other examples:
- the Albigensian crusade started because a group within the Catholic church wanted to revive the Broken God and ended with a magician blowing up Languedoc, and several surrounding cities (4565)
- the German battleship Bismarck was taken over by a giant squid when it was sunk (4217)
- whenever a U.S president dies or needs to be replaced there's a non-zero chance they'll be replaced by someone wearing a pair of magical glasses that allows them to be perfectly imitated. Harry S. Truman shot himself in 1945 and Reagan died in 1981. (3782)
- Ronald McDonald is real, hostile, wants to hurt you and is endowed with "limited retrocausal control over local reality". It was created during a ritual in 1955 By Maurice McDonald, Richard McDonald, and Ray Croc. (4486)
- the moon is hollow (4220). I won't spoil anything more it's genuinely one of my favourite articles on the site PLEASE read it if you haven't already.

scp-1981 and its popularity is extremely funny to me cause you've got people on youtube genuinely creating videos of ronald reagan looking like someone invisible is beating the shit out of him during a speech
