SCP-045 - Atmospheric Converter

I don’t know how to feel about this one. I might actually be too dumb for it, because I read it twice and still only sort of get it. I think it could theoretically ruin the world by converting parts of the atmosphere into water and table salt, but I don’t have enough of a grasp on chemistry to fully understand how severe of a threat it actually is.

SCP-046 - “Predatory” Holly Bush

This one’s pretty cool. I like both versions of the document. The idea that it tricks people into coming to it is pretty neat, and the idea that there’s some debate about whether or not it’s predatory is actually pretty funny. All told, I just find this one to be fun.

SCP-047 - Microbial Mutagen

I think this one is neat. I especially like that it doesn’t actually affect humans, but rather works on viruses and the like, and can potentially make them more deadly. It’s good.

Okay so this one is very funny, but I’m honestly unsure of how to rate it. The problem is, like 036, it’s not really an SCP? It’s more of a meta joke about SCPs? I dunno.

SCP-049 - Plague Doctor

049 my beloved

I really like this one. Partially because I love the plague doctor aesthetic (I have several plush plague doctors), partially because I love like, pre-modern medical horror (like Bloodborne and Pathologic). But also because the whole vibe here is great. 049 isn’t trying to be actively malicious (maybe it is in some of the tales, but again, I’m not counting those for this project). It’s just a perfect example of what TV Tropes calls blue and orange morality. It is aware of a Pestilence that only it can sense (or it thinks it’s aware of this pestilence, it’s unclear), and it’s trying to save the world from it. The fact that it can’t properly explain the Pestilence, or that the Pestilence may not even exist, isn’t really it’s fault.

The vibe I get from this one is like, a fairy. You hold onto it, and if you’re nice to it, it does nice things to you, like clean your office. If you do mean things, like abandon it or try to destroy it, it tries to destroy you. It’s cool.

it has been a hot minute since i updated this blog huh

anyway! i have started working on a 049/OC called The Dance of Decay & Dreams! It’s more or less me playing around in the sandbox and being way too indulgent with my own headcanons/ocs.

oh, and if you recognize the oc, i changed their number from 167 to 048 for story reasons! <3

Special Containment Procedures: The designation SCP-048 is to be retired from the SCP catalog. No future SCP objects are to be assigned this number.

Description: SCP-048 has long been considered the "cursed SCP number" by SCP staff: any items given this designation tend to be destroyed, decommissioned, stolen, or otherwise lost to the Foundation, usually through no fault of any individual person. In addition, personnel assigned to SCP-048 in its various incarnations have had a 50% higher rate of turnover due to death, dismemberment, and disciplinary action.

Whether or not the number 048 actually has any supernatural qualities is unknown, but given the superstition around this number, the designation has been removed from the catalog in order to help maintain employee morale.

Addendum 1: This is ridiculous. I'll prove to you superstitious bastards that you're all just being pussies. The restriction on SCP-048 is now removed and assigned to [DATA EXPUNGED]. ---Dr. Cortez.

Addendum 2: SCP-048, was accidentally thrown into the trash this morning and lost. In an unrelated incident, Dr. Cortez's arms were accidentally traumatically amputated in a horrific lunchroom blender accident. SCP-048 closed. ---O5-11

Addendum 3: SCP-048 has been once again removed from the archives, after it became highly apparent that no such "Vampyre Boat" had ever existed, much less come under Foundation control. It's currently believed that this error occurred when a low-level researcher attempted to save his "awesome story idea" to his hard drive and instead overwrote the blank slot reserved for SCP-048. Said researcher has been removed from any and all archival duties for the time being. ---O5-11

You know scp have like these tale of them. So I was thinking that if mc have this big book of scp tale even the most weird one. And when Mc fell like bulling the foundation, mc would pull the book out and start reading a scp tale, a doctor tale, a world ending scenario, or the most weird and wtf tale mc could recall. I like to think that over time, the book get more correct and become a Anomalous Item.

The foundation have learns that.

Mc will bring up take in convention and testing as a way to not talk about something

Mc will pull the tale book from nowhere as it have become a anomalous.

Trend i like with SCPs is when interconnected SCP articals have similar numbers, alot of Sarkic stuff having "048" in any order after the first digit what springs to mind

yeah I noticed that when I was putting them on the list theressss ALOT of 48s. authors sometimes pick a number pattern and stick with it for their articles. 2264 and 6624 is another example lol
