Maledetto chi ha inventato le ore e stramaledetto il primo che ha piazzato qui la meridiana. M'ha fatto a pezzettini la giornata, me tapino. Da ragazzo, la pancia era la sola meridiana! La migliore, senza confronto, e la più esatta di tutte quante. Quando dava il segnale quella, si poteva mangiare, se mai ce n'era: adesso, anche quel che c'è non si mangia, se non garba al sole. Così, ormai, la città trabocca di meridiane e la gente, quasi tutta, arranca rinsecchita dalla fame.

Okay here’s the sales pitch for a fanfic:

Meridiana grew up in the Montauk house with her “mother” and father. He comes home from work every day and tells her stories about the SCP foundation, where he works. He promises that once they figure out how to undo the reality curse that keeps them there, he’ll take her far away from this place and Lilly. Meridiana can’t tell him that Lilly’s cruelty goes beyond the treatment of herself and her father. She works tirelessly to stave off the resurrection of the Scarlet King and save the seven queens. Francis knows that to get out, someone has to die, and by God it isn’t going to be his daughter.

Later, a frightened sixteen year old with horns and hooves askes site-19 for asylum. The senior staff grant her request with little thought, preoccupied with the search for Alto Clef, who went missing a few weeks earlier. Meri manages to sneak under the radar, but has the Scarlet Queen begins to grow stronger, she knows that soon she’ll have to act.

Se il Monaciello è un folletto notturno, la Bella 'Mbriana (bella Mariana/meridiana) è uno spirito diurno, se lui è dispettoso e disordinato, lei è gentile ed esige pulizia. I due son spesso contrapposti. Come molte fate della casa, la Bella 'Mbriana si muta in geco o farfalla quando è scovata.

Let's start off Goblinweek with two neapolitan sprites: o Monaciello and la Bella 'Mbriana. While the Monachello is a night spirit, the Bella 'Mbriana (pretty Mariana/sundial) is active in the day-time, while he's mischievious and messy, she's kind and demands cleanliness. The two often appear somewhat as rivals. Like many household fairies, the Pretty 'Mbriana turns into a gecko or butterfly if noticed.

Die beiden sin oft Gegenspieler. So wie auch viele andere Hausfeen, verwandelt sie sich auch in einer Echse oder einem Schmetterling, wenn sie entdeckt wird.
