I think the random posts that defend Taylor Swift are half right most of the time and the people attacking her are very loud and usually overdoing it in their annoyance. both groups are annoying to me bc there’s a level of nuance missing on both sides. more so missing on the disliking side to be fair.

I think the main difference I see between FNAF and Harry Potter is that Harry Potter is a hateful story from a hateful person that forged a hateful community, whereas FNAF was an intriguing (if maybe slightly overrated, but that's just me) story from an ignorant dumbass that forged a diverse and inspiring community long before his views became plain to see.

So, for me, I think as far as "where the line is," I think FNAF is both before and on the line. The community it inspired - the oh so many indie artists that came out of their shells and started creating because of this one game - and the love that flourished from it is worth one asshole putting what at the end of the day amounts to a drop into the world's bucket of hate. Scott Cawthon? Over the line. Five Nights at Freddy's? Before the line. The community? Close to my heart.

That said, anyone who tries to defend Cawthon is on my shit list. If you thought I was talking about you when I said I love the community, you're wrong, and you are over the line. He had the chance to apologize for what he did and instead he tried to make excuses. Now, there is no fucking defense. The community and the story - that's worth loving. The creator? Fuck outta here.
