Horrifying undercover footage (see below) shows Texas Republican officials supporting the death penalty for women who get an abortion or IVF treatments. And this includes rape and incest victims, as well as minors.

During a meeting in Hood County, many elected officials — including Constable Scott London, Hood County GOP Chair Steve Biggers, and Hood County GOP Chair candidate Greg Harrell — discussed the importance of punishing women who get IVF the same way you'd punish a woman who seeks abortion: women from both camps should be charged with murder. And executing these women would be proper punishment.

"Other forms of abortion…would include IVF, when a fertilized egg is created and is often times destroyed. Those that do [IVF] are terminating or destroying a human life," said Paul Brown, director of Abolish Abortion Texas (AATX), the Republican group that gave the presentation and that, according to Meidas Touch Network, is also trying to get contraception outlawed. 

"Their lives [women] don't matter any more than the babies they are killing," he said.

A Texas police officer was fired after police body camera footage of a traffic stop was publicly released, police say.

Officer Scott Harrell was sitting in his cruiser in the parking lot of Buc-ee’s in Texas City, about 40 miles southeast of Houston, on April 19 when Christopher Shull pulled in, body camera video posted on Youtube by Shull shows.

Video shows Harrell pull behind Shull at the gas pump and get out of his cruiser. He tells Shull in the video the reason he pulled him over is because he was speeding through the parking lot and cut through parking spaces.

“I didn’t think I did anything wrong, I just came over to get gas,” Shull says to Harrell in the video.

In a police report obtained by KPRC, Harrell said Shull was “argumentative and confrontational” and said he “continued to argue the facts of the case.”

Shull told the news outlet he didn’t agree with that, and the officer just wanted him to agree.

“Everything he said was a lie and it really just boils down to, he wanted to use his police powers to bash me over the head,” Shull told KPRC.

Harrell could not be reached by McClatchy News for comment.

About four minutes into the traffic stop, video shows Shull asking what type of citation the officer could give him on private property. Harrell tells him he could get a citation for disregarding a traffic control device, video shows.

Shull said he understood, but Harrell said he had an “attitude,” according to the video.

”I get you’re upset,” Harrell says in the video. “No one likes the cops pulling up on them, but you know you did wrong.”

Harrell then threatens to arrest Shull, video shows.

“You wanna go to jail? You can go to jail for this… I don’t wanna take you to jail, that is definitely a waste of my time. But the attitude is not necessary,” he is heard telling Shull in the video.

Harrell also accused Shull of nearly hitting a truck in the parking lot, according to KPRC.

Shull posted surveillance footage to his YouTube page showing when he passed the truck in the parking lot.

Harrell tells Shull he believes he will “continue to commit these behaviors,” KPRC reported.

Shortly after, Harrell places Shull in handcuffs and puts him in the back seat of his cruiser, the video shows. For several minutes, Shull asks if they “really have to do this” and if they can “cool off,” according to the video.

“You have forced my hand at this point,” Harrell said in the video. “Because if I don’t go and see this through to its conclusion, I know you’re going to go to the police department and file a complaint on me.”

About eight minutes later, another officer arrives. Harrell is heard telling the officer he was going to let Shull go with a warning, but Shull wanted to “argue” and “go back and forth.”

Eventually, Shull is given a citation and let go.

However, Harrell was initially placed “on inside administrative duties” while the department investigated, according to a May 24 news release from the Texas City Police Department.

“The Texas City Police Department has strict policies prohibiting officers from violating individuals’ rights with whom the officers’ encounter,” Joe Stanton, the police chief at the time, wrote in the release.

Since then, a new police chief at the department fired Harrell, the police department said in a Sept. 8 news release.

“This decision was made after a thorough review of the circumstances and is in line with our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and community service,” Police Chief Landis Cravens said in the news release. “We want to be clear that the actions of this individual do not represent the hard work and dedication of the men and women who proudly wear the uniform of the Texas City Police Department.”

Shull’s citation was dismissed, according to KPRC.

Trivia:

○ The obvious starting point for this project was Jusin Beiber's "Beauty and a Beat", which Tony and Layne had performed as part of VoicePlay's "Wow! Vol. 1" medley during the 2015 Sing-Off tour, but one song does not a full plot make. The guys delved into his extended catalogue to find songs that fit certain story beats and would blend well with the animated movie's score.

○ This was an incredibly ambtious undertaking. According to the PattyCake guys, preparations took five months, and filming spanned "six long days" (and nights, clearly).

○ All that hard work paid off, though, since they were able to time their YouTube release for the same day that the Emma Watson movie hit theaters.

○ VoicePlay recorded a Beauty and the Beast medley for "Once Upon an Ever After" (2012), their first album with Tony as a member of the group. Excerpts from that arrangement later appeared in their music videos "Be Our Guest", "Aca Top 10 – Disney Sidekicks", and "Aca Top 10 – Disney Villains". They also included "Belle" in their "Aca Top 10 – Broadway" countdown.

○ "Love Yourself" was the first song in VoicePlay's PartWork series, which they started as preparation for Tony leaving the group.

○ Layne occasionally used "Baby" as his interruption at the end of VoicePlay's "Road Trip" medley / comedy sketch.

○ On top of their usual studio work, this production required multiple location shoots:

The outdoor village scenes were filmed at the Casa Feliz museum.

Beast's castle interior was the Ballroom at Church Street, which closed in 2019, and was demolished 2023.

The tavern was an actual bar, the Tap Room at Dubsdread.

○ Between the main cast and dozens of background folks, they needed so many costumes that Tony enlisted his mom Anita to help wrangle them all.

○ There are several of Tony's fellow "Beetlejuice Revue" alumni among the main cast:

Michael (Gaston) played Dracula and Frankenstein's monster.

Joey (LaFou) played Wolfman and Dracula.

Brad (Prince Adam) was a dancer in the final "Mashup" iteration of the show.

○ There are also many friends and family among the background cast and crew, including several cast members from previous Unexpected Musicals. Olivia Adkins and Leah Lowman are among the village crowd as Snow White and Cinderella. Rachel Copeland and Matthew Buckner are in the tavern crowd, but not as their previous characters. Many of the other villagers were clubgoers in "Hocus Heathens".

Adelaide 36ers condemn online racial abuse of NBA recruit Montrezl Harrell

Former NBA star Montrezl Harrell, who now plays basketball for the Adelaide 36ers, has been racially abused online. The Adelaide 36ers basketball team has condemned the racist comments, which happened after Thursday night’s 10-point win over South East Melbourne Phoenix. In a statement posted to Instagram, the 36ers said racist comments were directed at one of their players on social media after the game. “In moments like this, the 36ers and the NBL stand together to educate people about the harmful impacts of racism and online abuse,” the statement read. Harrell shared the racial slurs, which were from an anonymous account, to his social media. The slurs also included references to his death. The club called out the incident 16 hours after Harrell’s post. The 36ers said the incident had been reported to the Basketball Australia integrity unit. A club spokesperson did not believe the incident had been referred to South Australian Police. Harrell was an NBA Sixth Man of the Year. (Supplied: ESPN) Harrell had a strong match against the Phoenix, scoring 14 points. A spokesperson for the Phoenix said “while it appears to not be a Phoenix member, we want to make it clear we do not condone this”. Basketball Australia has been contacted for comment. Harrell brought in as a replacement The 36ers announced Harrell would be joining them last month to replace injured player Jarell Martin. They aren't just guys that only want to do the work when the cameras are on, and that is something that we try to instill in our players. The real work is done when nobody is looking.

Obviously, signing Alex Harrell is going to turn a lot of heads, he was the #2 overall quarterback in this class, and we are really excited to get him on campus to start working with him and see what he can do for us.

What an amazing day giving back at the “ Keep Stockbridge Beautiful” 5th Annual Stockbridge Councilman Elton Alexander MLK Jr. Community Service Project on Hudson Bridge Rd at I-75. We loved on our city planting shrubs, putting down weed block fabric, spreading mulch, and collecting litter in a one mile radius cleaning up the gateway to our city and county. We literally swept around the front door to our community today. This was no photo ops here we put in 2 hour plus working and impacting the village in near freezing temperatures!
