I am unfortunately not much of an artist (yet) so I have no way of demonstrating this concept but a character design idea I am very much enamoured with for the life series is having every lifer be some sort of animal hybrid or mystical creature or monster, except martyn who is Just A Normal Guy. like there’s wolf-man ren and cleo who’s a zombie (obviously) and like, tango who’s some sort of demon/blaze/whateverthefuck, and martyn is also there in his crocs. I just think its a neat idea

Orion, in greek mythology was a very handsome and capable hunter who was a very close companion of the Greek goddess Artemis, who is the goddess of hunt and the Moon.

In one telling of his story, he was tricked into being murdered by Apollo, (Artemis' brother) who grew jealous of their close bond, shaken by grief, Artemis, immortalised Orion as a constellation.

In another telling, Orion was adamant that there wasn't any beast he couldn't hunt/tame, but he ultimately was killed by a large scorpion. [ direct correlation to his adamance of jimmy being someone he can 'tame' i.e keep in check ]

Orions constellation includes his belt, a three-starred pattern in a perfect row.

In some Polynesian cultures, Orion's belt is seen as a fishing line, and Rigel as a fish.

Would Captain CrissCut be a scorpion, Anti-Daisuke a firefly, and Anti-Swansea a roly-poly or something? (<<< Those probably aren't accurate but the mental image of a roly-poly Swans gave me the giggles, and I hope it made you smile a little too!)

Had the random thought of 'what-if I gave Mira a brother?' and drew this guy, as well as re-doing Mira's character sheet. He really was just supposed to be a nice character to draw, but now I'm seriously thinking of adding him to Forgotten by Daylight. Story: Managing to steal some of Draal's birthstone while they were a couple, Nomura created Mira and Pierce as pawns against the TrollHunter, counting on Kanjigar not wanting to attack one of his bloodline. What she didn't count on was falling in love with her children. Adorning the whelps in iron and a spell to allow them to change form without a counterpart to keep the twins from changing into their changling/troll forms and swearing Strickler to secrecy, Nomura raised Mira and Pierce in the sun, far from the shadows of the Troll world and Bular, as well as Mira and Pierce's true identities. What she didn't expect was for her daughter and son to befriend the boy who would become the first human TrollHunter.

Sidenotes: • Mira and Pierce find out their mother is a changeling in the 'Waka-Chaka' ep. • They discover their troll sides at the end of 'Win Lose or Draal', after the Draal vs. Nomura fight. • The two find out Draal is their father in the 'The Battle of Two Bridges' ep, before Nomura is sucked into the portal.

Just as Curly and Jimmy will never see each other again, although they will be together among the stars. One is a half-dead cripple in a cryocapsule, the other is a decomposing body not far from the first. The scorpion was smarter - what kind of hunter is a dismembered hunter? Scorpio stung Orion, stung himself, but though he died from his own poison, he will be immortalized as a "hero." As long as Orion's heart beats, there will be no life in those heartbeats. After 20 years the corpse will completely decompose and only from the dried bones will it be possible to put together the constellation Scorpio but not the sting that destroyed everything.

Also Artemis is a goddess associated with the moon, youth, virginity, childbirth and now looking back at the scene with Anya, Curly, the moon landscape and the dead pixel a lot of symbols get spotted. Like the dead pixel is as we know Jimmy as the moon is Anya's sexual boundaries, virginity even (not implying that she's a virgin, it just fits sososo well yk). And this dead pixel stained the moon as it stained Anya's purity, stained her body, deprived her of her sense of security. NO WONDER ARTEMIS GOT MAD AT ORION as he couldn't protect Anya.

These are very weak thoughts, but in my defense I can say that I have worms in my brain. :) Share your opinion pls

I am 100% going to go back to this and tweak some details (there's some issues I'm aware of but I haven't fixed yet), but it's here.

It took five other fanarts to make this one fanart, and I did a very bad job of planning the composition and the layout of it completely changed from how I originally envisioned it, but it's here.

He doesn’t feel lucky. If anything, he feels alarmed– because it’s starting to come together, the reason why the edge of hunger has dulled, why it's only closer to a tickle against his senses compared to the thunderous roar from before. Horror wells up his throat. He must've somehow been feeding on them– it's the only explanation for why the hunger isn't subsuming him now. Even unconscious, he can't stop himself from being a monster.

Some fun notes on the "hooks":

I tried to make the "hook" going for Xisuma more predatory by trying to make the positioning look like a scorpion tail. It doesn't really have the same effect if it isn't scorpion tail shaped, but I tried to give The Vibe. It also isn't touching Xisuma to show Grian is more hesitant around him and not as close as some of the others.

Tango's is also not touching because Grian isn't as close to him as he is with Scar, Mumbo, and Pearl. I tried to make it look like it was reading Tango's messages to Jimmy over his shoulder.

Since the fic is Grian/Scar, I wanted to kind of hint at that with Scar's "hook." It's wrapped around him like a hug (though usually hugs aren't, you know, eating you) and caressing his face.

I wanted to have the "hook" for Pearl be wrapping around her arm, but that's where my poor planning messed things up, unfortunately.

I originally wasn't planning the "hook" on Grian himself but it 1) looked better with it and 2) has the ~symbolism~ of how this hurts Grian even though it's also keeping him alive. I was tempted to have it cutting into his skin a bit, but felt like that would be too much/wouldn't look good.

.I've been watching Robert Irwin and Dave Salmoni take wild animals onto the Jimmy Shows and scare the Jimmy's and various other guest stars sOooooo... I had to make this XD

Plot: We are gonna hand each horror Villains a dangerous animal and see how they handle it. Warnings: Swearing. No actual mention of meerkats despite the gif.

Audrey II: A European Brown Hare.

Audrey II has no fear, they're a plant from outer space. He also doesn't particularly care for animals though, since its pretty globally accepted that animals are allowed to eat plants when they're peckish... and understandably, they are not having that. Not in this green house XD Nu uh, no siree, nope nope nope, the hare is gonna get eaten first if he even looks at Audrey II wrong.

The fact that this is an animal does not change a thing about the way Jennifer talks to her XD She is so fascinated, though, and wants to feed Grizelda, pet Grizelda, ask many many questions about Grizelda... she loves her.

Jerry Dandridge: A Perentie Monitor Lizard (Goanna).

Y/N, helping goanna onto Jerry's lap: Now, be careful with Sandy, he can be kinda easily startled and then his claws will cut into your skin, and- Jerry: *Getting along great with the Sandy, Sandy is in the best mood you have ever seen him in; purring.* Y/N: ... So Daisuke is a rainwing, before Queen Glory, so before the nightwings were in the rainforest

Anya I'd say is a nightwing- I wasn't quite sure, but I feel like it fits her better than the other tribes

I drew Curly as a silkwing- for the most part, silkwings are like gentle and kind sorta like rainwings but they aren't particularly "lazy"

I'm not sure about Swansea and Jimmy. I had a thought of Jimmy being a hivewing, considering from what I read, they're pretty controlling or whatever, but I'd also maybe consider something else like a sandwings maybe and like the scorpion den, sorta like Quibli's family cause from what I remember they weren't the best dragons

Swansea I could maybe see as a sandwing? I was also thinking skywing too, but there's a lot of good choices for that
