Kenshi
Keahi Journal #1
The first few steps out of Mongrel were easy enough - there were no signs of any Fogmen out on the road- not that we'd see them, the fog was so damn thick.
It was hard traveling with such a large group, my new friends and the mercs were too clumsy for us to sneak through like I had when I came to Mongrel alone. Honestly sneaking would be too slow- and the howls across the mountains was a reminder that we couldn't afford to be slow.
The mercs I hired to bodyguard were apparently the hot blooded sort, we had a clear path all we had to do was keep running but no they had to charge the Fogmen- their heads fetched a heafty bounty afterall- that's all fine and good but that's not what I paid you for. We got separated from our guard and swarmed by split of the horde when we tried to run. The Dregs aren't far now, we should be able to make it.
FINN MY MAN! Well my skeleton, not MY skeleton mind- ANYWAY he saw us running away from another pack of Fogmen right as we came up on the border. Guess cannibal bugmen doesn't scare you much when you've got no meat to eat- he was able to carry Crumblejon back while Shryke, Beep and I ran for safety - they got Yunomi though. I knew I should've left the kid behind in Mongrel but... No this isn't the time for regrets- she's a resourceful girl she can buy herself some time, the mercs I hired apparently survived their little skirmish with minimum injury and I found a woman who knows where the Fogmen are held up at, Finn's coming too, we'll save her.
I've never found Shek women more attractive than I did seeing those two beauties standing atop a mountain of Fogmen corpses with Yunomi behind them. The mercs were disappointed they were skivved out of a fight but who cares. Yunomi was a bit battered but she was whole and more importantly ALIVE. We'll take her back to Sanctuary to heal- she insisted she could walk but no way I was letting her with as bad as her legs were- she's lucky to keep them. I'll have a talk with her if she still wants to travel with me, I don't want to put her through that again but- she did survive in large part to her own capabilities I can't just baby her. Still after everyone heals we can talk it over.

Challenge #04314-K296: Down in the Sundered Lands Mall
The lands were hot, the deserts, created from centuries of war that destroyed the land above, scorching. The kobolds were the first to dig this underground city, but many races soon called it home, though the kobolds ruled this domain. -- Anon Guest
Neighbouring the Veldrys Deserts is an area the maps labled as the Scorchlands. A rocky waste hot enough to melt some metals unlucky enough to be on the surface. Even the Lizardfolk don't go there.
Well. Not overland.
Underneath... the Lizardfolk correctly surmised that the Scorchlands might have easily-obtained veins of refined metal, just waiting to be taken. After all, there had once been an advanced civilisation there before some extreme action of the Xenophobia Wars ruined it forever. Well. Ruined the surface.

this was just supposed to a quick post about how i think mr reca is a cremator but it ended up becoming a longer theory so here it is:
im not trying to offend anyone but i completely disagree with the 'reca is just a memokeeper' and the 'reca is a history fictionologist' truthers
if this man isnt a cremator im gonna fuckin EXPLODE
*also, sorry for typos..... its almost 6 am and im half asleep writing this
from the clockie dreamjoy memoir event:
black swan is obviously talking abt mr reca here........... cremators ARE just an extreme group of memokeepers and operation IN the garden of recollection.
from the scorchsand vacation adventure quest:
cremators believe that memories have varying levels of importance and only the most important memories should be preserved, every thing else is just fodder
despite the movie being a record of trailblazer & firefly's adventures during the scorchland auditions (main quest) he doesnt want to be associated with the film because its boring to him because he finds the topic boring and not good enough to be recorded on film
new light cone:
disclaimer: i don't know if the full LC description is out officially, the hsr wiki only has the very last line listed on the page so far, but this was the full description from the leaks subreddit a few weeks ago:
i don't think i even need to explain this....... he's LITERALLY burning the memories recorded on the film saying that boring and trivial memories aren't worth keeping, that all memories have different levels of importance.
'we don't transport memories. we only create the past'
cremators don't collect and store memories, they throw out the garbage to craft a worthy past to be preserved by fuli.....
i can see WHY folks come to the history fictionologist conclusion, besides looking similar to gallagher, reca IS weaving a false narrative about the past through the omission of trivial memories. but what sets him apart from the history fictionoloists mindset is that he WANTS to preserve his carefully crafted narrative, to remember it as the past.
history fictionologists seek to destroy and distort the past, so history cannot repeat itself, but it doesn't seem that reca is interested in that. hes trying to preserve what he thinks are the most important pieces of the past via film.
but tl;dr: i am 99% convinced mr reca is apart of the cremators. please i am BEGGING to have a character associated with the cremators, they were the first faction i was very 👀 about and im dying while waiting.

my kenshi party ... 💕
skinner (greenlander, you will never guess how her mom died), molly (scorchlander, passionate cook and mediocre blacksmith) and fall (hiver, just happy to be there all things considered)
skinner is bad at things like "self-preservation" and "not being gullible" and "pretending she doesn't want very deeply to have her limbs torn off and replaced with robot arms"

I got an idea. What if there would be a Fallout game set in Australia? Just imagine the possibilities that would bring as for mutated animals, plants and other weird things. For storyline I really don't know but for some reason there is two things that just refuses to leave my head.
The Australian Wasteland being called Scorchland(s), and the protagonist being called the Scorchwalker.
Being encouraged with these thoughts, mostly because it entirely refuses to leave me alone until I do something about it; so I used Bing AI to create a picture that could be a wallpaper or something for this. Now, my mind can finally know peace.

May I request a palette for my Kenshi RPG rum character she's a scorchlander with gold eyes and works as a tech hunter occasionally picking up bounties and security work when she can with her big fuck off odachi and ever loyal bonedoggo. Shes pretty cheerful despite living in dune meets fallout wasteland and is rather kind and trusting - much to the chargin of her closest friend and body guard Ray, a mute former bugman slave she bought the freedom of- he's so stressed she's gonna sunshine her way into trouble that's faster than them one day

So I finally did a Rebirth playthrough...
It was pretty brutal.
I had a Hiver named Leaf and a Scorchlander named Shade. Leaf ended up getting cut up by the guards pretty bad and died on the second day in his cage because they never healed him.
With Shade, I managed to pick the locks on the shackles and cage pretty quick. Being cautious, I just had her move around to get her stealth up. For the first week, I just played through the day at 3x speed while she did labor and then worked on her stealth at night.
After two unsuccessful escape attempts, Shade ended up unable to walk. I still had her leave her cage at night and crawl around to get her stealth up. Unfortunately, she wasn't fast enough to get back to the cage in the morning and got attacked by a guard. She lost an arm.
After that, I tried to play it a little more cautious. It took another full week of practicing stealth. During those times, I would pick the locks on other prisoners who would run off and cause distractions. One of which was a Greenlander named Fuu.
After 20 days, Shade had a pretty high stealth stat and was completely healthy (minus the arm). Coincidentally, Fuu was in the cage right next to Shade's and had picked her way out. I decided to give it a try.
Shade snuck around the guards pretty much unseen but Fuu was not as stealthy. The guards noticed her and quickly swarmed. Seeing an opening I had Shade sneak past the gate and out into the wilderness.
She was free but she was starving.
As Shade made her way down the path, I saw a little dot on the map making it's way toward her. Somehow Fuu had escaped and was following Shade, eventually becoming a playable character. I had Shade wait so they could group up.
Unfortunately, what I hadn't seen were the Hungry bandits chasing Fuu. They attacked Fuu and Shade, leaving them unconscious and bloody. Luckily, a wandering skeleton happened to come by and killed the bandits by the time they woke up. After tossing the prison robes for bandit rags, I had the two of them continue on.
At some point, Fuu had eaten but Shade was starving. They made their way all the way down to the valley. Unfortunately, Shade's wounds were worse than her starvation. While trying to find bandages at a farm, Shade died.
Feeling a bit bummed, I had Fuu carry her body. At the next farm, Fuu was able to find enough food to keep from starving. She slowly and stealthily carried Shade's body all the way out of Holy Nation territory until she came to a lone shack. After getting some bandages, I had Fuu heal herself.
Fully healed and well fed for the first time, Fuu headed to The Hub. It didn't take long but she made it there. After finding an unlocked little shack, I had her place Shade's body in the bed as her final resting place for all of her hard work.
A couple game days later, for reasons I don't understand, the mercenaries randomly started attacking Fuu and left her to bleed out. She died outside of the shack.
I love this game but goddamn is it brutal sometimes.

Ptitheros Worldbuilding - Science
History and Archeology
Ptitheros has a very, very long history, and much of it is still to be discovered. There are mysterious temples, catacombs, and relics found all throughout the world. Some of it can be tied to known ancient cultures, whereas other pieces cannot. Some discoveries are completely foreign to historians, it is unknown if Ptithians were responsible for some of the most confusing artifacts.
This mysterious history makes archeology and documentation a big field of research. There has to be answers lurking somewhere, many of which remain unseen in the endless Archives that line the planet like an underground labyrinth. Some of the Archives records will never be seen because the Cardinals used to expunge information that they saw unfit for their kin to learn. Finding these lost bits requires fieldwork or getting lucky when questioning a lindost. Some historians find it absolutely infuriating that shadows know the history of the entire world but refuse to share it.
Most archeological discoveries are documented and then the fragile relics of history are stored in safe locations in temples or college archives across the kingdom. Museums also get some of these items to put on display, but many of their artifacts that are said to be the most important are actually replicas. This is to protect the real artifact from theft or possible damage by incompetent transporters.
The latest massive archeological breakthrough was the discovery of the End’s Beginning City found below the East Volcanic Inlet (with lithospheric connections to the Scorchland). It confirmed that there was at least one type of kin before the current Ptithians that have been nicknamed the Collosals. However, the strangest discovery in the city is that smaller figures with no recognizable shape appear regularly in murals.
Astronomy and Physics
Ptithians have always been fascinated by space. They knew their Cardinals came from the cosmos and that stars, planets, and other creatures existed far beyond their planet. The Cardinals educated with facts when it came to space, that the world revolved around a sun and the two moons that revolve around the planet were captured from asteroids long, long ago.
A dragon astronomer invented the first telescope and used it to peer at the other planets in the solar system. They made excellent notes about Ptellous, Nere’enk, Payrak, and Ateshue. At the time, Ptellous was believed to be home to giant fire dragons and raining lava, Nere’enk was all clouds from the outside so they thought it was a snowy swampland, Payrak was darkened by radiation so lindosts were believed to live there, and Ateshue was unfortunately too blurry to make out anything useful. That did not stop astronomers from taking guesses that it was where the spirit realms were.
There were well known constellations before the first telescope was made. When telescopes were widely available, astronomers from all over slowly created a map of the night sky with all the labeled constellations and lots of new ones. This created a craze to study the stars further, bringing many more budding astronomers and an interest in astrology.
Astronomy has advanced a lot since then. Ptithians have a vast understanding of their solar system, galaxy, and workings of their universe. So much so, they have grasped a great control over aura to create versatile space travel to explore space even more. The end goal is to map the solar system, reach other galaxies, and potentially find other intelligent life. As of now, only one major space station (Zariel) is running, but another is underway near Ptellous (Sbneth). Sbneth station will have the end goal of constructing a dyson sphere (however the plans for such a thing are far from reality at the moment).
Station Zariel and laboratories on Ptitheros use advanced satellite imaging telescopes to take photos of the distant universe. Meanwhile in observatories resting above the clouds in the mountains of Wyndgale, Howland, and Twincub there are classic astronomers still hard at work.
Ptithians have a great understanding of physics and the natural laws of the universe. Gravity, inertia, the speed of light, frequencies, synchronization, energy transfer, and more have all been studied for a great amount of time. Although even more technologically advanced than humans, the reason their world looks so clean and natural is because of solarpunk ideologies and the energy used (aura) is clean and forever repurposable. The furthering of science is funded by governments, nobility, universities, and taxes.
