On the way to the football game at our brother school, girls are tripping over themselves in order to look at pretty as possible. Girls flat iron their hair on the fucking bus, and girls line up in the Chick-Fil-A bathroom in order to change clothes to get ready for the game. Basically, these are pretty girls that can easily get some guys if their smart enough. Some of them are, others are not. All of them are gorgeous. On the way back, they talk about how they got the football teams Snaps and phone numbers. I sit and listen to the chaos. I didn't bother to ask anyone.

Shit. Shit, shit shit. Fuck. Nora doesn’t really know what’s happening. All she can feel is the trickle of blood down her face, a window bursting from wind pressure in the classroom she’d holed up in. She’d fallen asleep curled beside Elijah and had awoken in a daze to the sound of people shouting and a cold burst of air. Nora doesn’t see her twin anywhere and she uses the last ten percent of her phone battery to try calling him. But it doesn’t ring and she remembers his phone died. Shit. She scrambles to her feet, wiping at the blood and cut at her temple, grimacing slightly as she hears more shouting coming from the hallway. Curious (and ignoring her dad’s voice in her head), she slings her backpack over her shoulder and tucks her blanket beneath her arm. She doesn’t really understand what’s going on when, the moment she walks into the hallway, the sound of chaos meeting her the moment the door opens. She barely has a moment to blink or gain her bearings in the dark space (had the lights always been off?) when someone shoves into her, practically knocking her off balance and suddenly someone els is trying to yank her backpack and blanket from her. “Hey!” she shouts, kicking at them and holding onto the bag, “what in Jesus name is wrong with you!!!” And confused as she is, the Jones gene in her kicks in, refusing to give up something as mundane as bag on principle. It’s hers, after all. “Get off me!”  @ethanjxnes​

School Rant

This is a rant, mainly because I am currently sleep deprived and procrastinating studying, but let’s leave that aside shall we? Because I feel like I have some interesting things to say.

Truth is, recently I haven’t been enjoying my life as much as I used to, and the reason for that is school. As some of you may know; my dream/goal is to be a writer/author. Writing is my passion and it’s the thing I love doing most. And I obviously want to pursue that dream. But of course, there are no classes for that. School has been stressing me out lately, it’s just so much. And I’m not dumb, as weird as it is to say this about myself I’m actually a pretty smart cookie, if I have to believe my grades and teachers. This also lifts their expectations of me and I feel the pressure to live up to those expectations. School has made me not enjoy things I normally would enjoy, because there is this voice in the back of my mind telling me: ‘you could be studying you know, you could be doing your homework, or finishing that project’ while doing them. And when I’m doing homework there is this voice in the back of my mind telling me; 'you know, you could be writing that novel right now, or that short story for that one contest you wanted to enter, remember?’. It’s suffocating me. And my passion is not the problem. School is. And don’t throw that school is the best time of your life and later you will regret that you didn’t see that back then, because it’s not true. Because tell me? What is worse than sitting in a room all day learning stuff you won’t use later on in life bored as hell, because it’s not what you want to do later on in life? What is worse than not being able to do the one thing you love most because society is setting you up with some sort of shit system they thought of few years ago, that’s mainly boring and useless as fuck? Not to mention stressing me out to the point where physical stuff has appeared like late periods, hair loss, headaches and an upset stomach.
