Claudia in Vienna Oct. 11th
Smiths of Vienna come together, here is a reason. Amongst other experimental producers, Claudia Rohrmoser will be presenting her newest experimental film on We. October 11th at 21:00 at Film Archiv Austria.

Salzburg? subnetAIR CALL 2017
Schmiede is over. Time to think about 2018. Here are three possibilities to come back to Salzburg and work with us, subnet, HCI and a little bit of Schmiede.
subnetAIR developed well over the past years and we are very happy to announce that there will be a group show at Stadtgalerie Lehen (September/October 2018) presenting the artists and developments of subnetAIR 2015 - 2017.
=== Deutsch === (English below.)
Details Wann: 2018 – max.
“ (https://hci.sbg.ac.at/)

=== ENGLISH ===
Three times a year, subnetAIR provides access to production and presentation space for media artists, alongside a small work budget.
subnet is in contact with galleries, festivals and cultural houses to provide a suitably attractive environment for project presentations. The next presentation of the subnetAIRs will take place in September 2018 in the Stadtgalerie Lehen.
subnetAIR – Process: At the beginning of each residency artists present themselves during a “Meet the artis” event. At the end of each residency all artists need to provide documentation material and will present their progress. Further project presentations will be discussed individually since subnet has its own space but is also in contact with galleries, festivals and cultural institutes in Salzburg.
subnetAIR – Frame: subnet provides a working budget (1000 €), space and infrastructure as well as know-how in media art projects with the focus on physical computing, hardware-hacking and tinkering.
Details When: 2018 – max. 6 Weeks/artist Feb-Juli, August-November Where: Salzburg im HCI und im subnetBÜRO How much: 1000 € per unite. Application:no more than three pages: concept, cv, references, preferred timeframe. Deadline: Oct.30th 2017 Kontakt: office{at}subnet{dot}at
Due to our cooperation with the Center for Human Computer Interaction (HCI) at University of Salzburg (https://hci.sbg.ac.at/), subnetAIRs can freely access the HCI infrastructure. The HCI also provides subnetAIRs with a lively environment filled with technology-enthusiasts, critical thinkers, exotic human-machine interfaces and plenty of gear and space to work on projects as well as present them to audiences, in the very city center.
About the Center for HCI: The Center for Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is an interdisciplinary research group within the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Salzburg. Established in 2005 as research unit at the former ICT&S Center, currently approx. 40 researchers study the interplay between humans and computers in order to enable desired interactions and explore desirable futures“ (Read more: hci.sbg.ac.at). subnetAIRs will have the great possibilty to use their faicilties and network with local researches.

SmithsWelcomeParty Zone11
We have arrived in Hallein and it’s time to party meet us at Zone 11 (Mauttorpromenade 11, Pernerinsel, Hallein) tomorrow night.
Live:
suboptimal (moritz morast + christoph kummerer aka burn those idle circles)
Dick Delorean Sunset, a soft breeze, drifting electronic sequences, nostalgia, repetitive beats, flickering neon lights, gnarly bass lines, a mere glimpse of melancholy and a nodding head—116 to 135 bpm, depending on the mood—this is the emotional home of Dick DeLorean and sets the mood for his Techno live sets. Born 1980, raised near Frankfurt/GER, a stronghold of german Techno, Dick fell for the sound of rumbling and screaming artificial sounds and stammering rhythms. A modular synthesizer accompanied by a drum machine along with an iPad form the core of his setup.
