Lily
*Lily, from Courage Home Purple, a foster home at Sarah’s Covenant Homes (website) (Facebook), is currently one of Children’s Home Society/Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota(CHS/LSSM)’s featured waiting children on their blog!
Learn more about *Lily and how to adopt her by reading the article here.
Please share this post or the original posting on your social media! If we signal boost *Lily and more and more of the world gets to learn how amazing she is, I know she will find her family!
From *Lily’s summary page:
Eligible families may qualify for a grant through CH/LSS[M] and Brittany’s Hope Foundation [click the link to learn more about BHF].
More financing resources can be found here.
*Lily currently lives in a foster home with 11 foster brothers and sisters and 2 co-foster mothers. She has cerebral palsy, which affects her speech and movement, along with a manageable chronic illness, for which she takes medication. She uses a communication device to speak (an iPad and the communication software Proloquo2Go) and is using a gait trainer to learn how to walk! She can also ride an adaptive bike. *Lily’s preferred method of getting around is scooting on her knees, or running in her gait trainer. She is very smart and understands both English and Telugu.

[Photo description: In this photo, *Lily is riding her blue adaptive bike across the balcony of her home, wearing a gray dress! Volunteer Colleen, wearing a white patterned tank top, who raised funds for the bike, stands behind *Lily in case she needs help.]
You can also read about a little girl named *Livy, who has also been featured by CHS/LSSM! *Livy lives in another foster home at SCH (Joy Pink). Read her story here.
Excerpt about eligibility, from the agency’s website:
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS All applicants must be between the ages of 25-55; financially capable, physically, mentally and emotionally stable and without any life-threatening conditions. Heterosexual couples married at least two years and single women may be eligible. Families cannot have more than four children already in the home.”
To adopt through CHS/LSSM, you must meet some additional requirements depending on the country from which you are attempting to adopt.
General information on international adoptions can be found here.
Note that you may not be able to adopt from this particular agency if you live in certain states, but that children are sometimes listed with multiple adoption agencies in order to reach a wider audience and ultimately find that child’s forever family that much faster.
There are many resources available on CHS/LSSM’s website.
*A note about names: SCH & CHS/LSSM aren’t allowed to publicly share identifying names or photos of children available for adoption from India online due to privacy standards set by the government. Therefore, partial photographs and online alias names are  used. If you are interested in adopting *Lily, *Livy, or any other child from India, photos, videos, names, and medical information can be shared by inquiring with the agency that has the child listed.

High Drama at Resort: Karnataka Police take Madhya Pradesh Minister, other leaders into custody after they attempted to meet colleagues
New Post has been published on https://apzweb.com/high-drama-at-resort-karnataka-police-take-madhya-pradesh-minister-other-leaders-into-custody-after-they-attempted-to-meet-colleagues/
High Drama at Resort: Karnataka Police take Madhya Pradesh Minister, other leaders into custody after they attempted to meet colleagues
BENGALURU: The Bengaluru Rural District Police took into their custody a small group of Madhya Pradesh Congress leaders including Higher Education Minister Jitu Patwari when they attempted to persuade their MLA colleagues to return to Bhopal at a resort near the Nandi Hill station on the city outskirts. The situation turned a bit ugly when the Police intervened to block the Madhya Pradesh leaders, and led to a scuffle leading to chaos and their preventive arrest.
Twenty-one Congress MLAs from the Jyotiraditya Schindia camp are staying at the resort under tight police protection after requested for it ‘fearing’ threats from their leaders.
The Madhya Pradesh Congress MLAs landed in Bengaluru three days ago by a special aircraft in a show of rebellion against chief minister Kamalnath.
Patwari is also the working president of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, and he led a small team of leaders to meet and persuade the MLAs to return with them. At this time, word leaked out that they were trying to forcibly take the MLAs with them, triggering panic and police intervention. When the Congress leaders got into a serious argument with the Police amid pushing and shoving, they were bundled into a van, and taken to a nearby police station.
The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Party (KPCC) condemned the police action against the MP ministers who flew down to Bengaluru to “persuade the MP Congress MLAs camping in Bengaluru.” The party urged chief minister BS Yediyurappa to release the Congress leaders and apologize for the “goonda conduct of the BJP regime.”
Video clippings of the police pushing the Congress leaders into a van went viral.

Not surprisingly, I fell in love at the "JOY HOUSE" - one of three "Sarah's Covenant Homes" I visited for children with special needs. Except the little girls at this particular house aren't handicapped, or disabled, they weren't born with a brain defect, they just have HIV. These nine little girls were abandoned and became orphans simply because they had HIV. There is an archaic stigma around the disease in many communities here. I found myself becoming ANGRY, indignant if you will, with the thought of this. Meeting these beautiful, happy, JOYFUL, little girls you would never know anything was wrong with them. Granted HIV is a serious and terminal illness, but with today's medical technology and advancements it's a more manageable disease - and it certainly does not make these girls "special needs," or to feel like they are different or unwanted because of it. There was one little girl in particular who was sitting off to the side alone who I found myself taken by- I'm always attracted to the outsider. She seemed shy, introverted, like she had the weight of the world on her shoulders, an old soul - not that of a child barely 8 years old. The ayahs told me she had a fever and didn't feel well, but that didn't stop me from annoying her with questions and compliments trying to talk to her and make her laugh. She seemed guarded, so afraid to let anyone in- and understandably so, but it broke my heart. By the time I left she was smiling and seemed to have cheered up, enough to let me take a photo to show her how beautiful she is. I may not have been able to make much of a difference in her day, but I will never forget her. She changed my heart forever. I know now without a doubt I want to "get my life together" so I can adopt a child like this and help give them the life and love they deserve. #AliRoseGoesToIndia #FallingInLoveWithIndia #JoyandEase #sarahscovenanthomes #schindia #olympuspengeneration #hivawareness (at Jubilee Hills)

Big Things on the Horizon...(You won’t want to miss this!)
Tumblr media
This fall a new chapter of my story is beginning: I’m moving to India!!
Yes, you read that right! Jesus has been up to some fun things over the last months, and I am so excited to finally be able to share with all of you!
Now, this story is one laced with God’s hand all the way throughout, and that makes me SO stinkin’ excited and I cannot wait to share it with you, but in this post I am going to give you the “condensed detail version”. My hope is that this will give you the details, inform you on what this new chapter will kind of look like, and set the tone for me to tell you the story that Jesus has and is writing.
So…like I said, this fall I AM MOVING TO INDIA! In (tentatively*) October, I will be packing up my life and moving 8,300 miles across the world to volunteer at Sarah’s Covenant Homes in Hyderabad, Telangana. Sarah’s Covenant Homes (or SCH) is an organization that cares for around 170 children with special needs who have been abandoned. In India, children with special needs are a part of the group that is most likely to be forgotten. SCH believes that “every life matters” and aims to change the societal stigma by going into institutional orphanages and finding these kids who have been overlooked. They then “bring them home providing them with love, education, therapy, medical & surgical care, and life in a family-style environment”.
This “family-style environment” is created through a number of foster homes set-up in Hyderabad. Typically, homes are formed with one or two foster parents (usually volunteers from around the world), a few Indian women (some who are widowed), and anywhere from 5-15 children.
My role while I am serving at SCH? I am going to be a foster mom! AND I AM SO EXCITED! For the first six weeks I am in India, I will be living with a volunteer from Michigan who currently has 9 toddlers and preschoolers in her home. These weeks will be considered my “shadowing period” where I will learn from her, observe her life, pray about my role at SCH, and really get a feel for life in India. At the end of the six weeks, I will sit with leadership of SCH and discuss what life will look like moving forward. This could mean I continue to live in the “shadowing” foster home as a co-foster mom, or move into another home within SCH, this is all up to God!
I have made a one-year commitment with SCH, which means that I will spend the year I am 22 living in a country that captured my heart two years ago. I have spent the last months in awe of God’s plan, His goodness, and the way he faithfully fulfills His promises. We have a good, good, Father, friends, do not forget that.
Like I mentioned in the beginning, there is so much more to share in all of this! I am looking forward to telling you the story, and I am also ecstatic to bring you all along with me in this journey. I fully believe that this isn’t simply my journey, but a small piece of our story, together. There are going to be so many ways for you to get involved right alongside me and I look forward to telling you about them!
Look for many more details in the weeks and months to come, and please, be praying for this journey. For the leadership at SCH, for the kids, and for myself. Pray that all of us would never fail to see Jesus in the midst of every day.

If you would like to hear more about all of this (and don’t want to wait until the next blog post is up! :) ), please feel free to contact me! Email me at [email protected] or find me on Facebook. I’d LOVE to share more about SCH, India, and this journey Jesus has me on--and how YOU can get involved!

If you’re not able to travel, here are some other ways you can help support SCH:
An important part of SCH’s work is YOU! SCH relies on donations to keep running. Donation opportunities include child sponsorship at any cost per month, from as low as $10/month. Sponsorship usually costs between $300 and $500 per child, depending on complexity of needs and which city they live in (Ongole or Hyderabad).
You can sponsor any child who needs additional funding at SCH by using the resources found here. Use these resources to get involved in other ways, such as becoming an advocate or volunteering. You can also become a medical sponsor (ideal for large groups or organizations who wish to support SCH) and donate toward monthly emergency medical expenses; or an educational sponsor and donate toward a specific on-site school; or, sponsor a birthday party!
Also, here is the link to SCH’s general fund. In addition, you can give a one-time donation to any home by visiting each home’s landing page on SCH’s official website, under the heading “Meet Our Kids”! Learn about other ways to give charitably to SCH here, and check back often for additional opportunities.
*A note about names: SCH uses online nicknames for the children in order to protect their identity, per Indian governmental guidelines which state that children in care may not have identifying photos of them on the internet, as well as no identifying information such as birth name, place of origin, etc.

The Jai Vilas Mahal is a nineteenth century palace in Gwalior, India. It was established in 1874 by Jayajirao Scindia, the Maharaja of Gwalior and is still the residence of his descendants the former royal Maratha Scindia dynasty. It is a fine example of European architecture, designed and built by Sir Michael Filose. Best time to visit this place is in monsoon, its open everyday with just a normal ticket. There are extra charges for camera and mobile (200/-). There is only single rule I followed while I was in, "just gaze and don't gossip." Its beautiful and it let's you know grandeur of schindias from very close. #rohantherover #chalte_Jaana_hai #instagoodmyohoto #justgoshoot #exploretocreate #peoplescreatives #visualsoflife #passionpassport #monoart #my_365 #theoutbound #worldtravelbook #flasheshofdelight ##bandofun #delhigram @photographers_of_india @captured_insta @indian.photography @picturesofindia @instaindians_ @colourful_world_pictures @shutterhub.india @igershindustan @hindustan.pictures @streets.of.hindustan @indian.diaries @uniquephotographyclub  @photographers_abode @photography_from_best @travel.real.india #photographysouls #everydayindia #incredibleindia  #INDIA_CLICKS #ig_photostar #ig_daily #huffpostgram  #budpoi #createandcapture #captureindia #worldbestgram #tales_of_india #_soh #shutterbug_collective #photofie #dpeg (at The Jai Vilas Palace, Gwalior)
