More thoughts in the original post but shortly said but this was another project for Sannamiweek's event (in 2019) and was built around Zou arc when Sanji disappeared.

Like written in numerous ponders, all of them from got worried sick when Sanji disappeared but Nami for some reason felt lots of guilt about it. Then she did her best push the retrieval team forward so they could find their missing crew mate. So, this song was pretty much from Nami's perspective as seen.

It wasn't in the panels but in the anime that running scene so fans can debate whether she did tried to run after Sanji in canon but any case, it was indeed episode 764 which was the main inspiration for this project because Just felt that the running scene and Dark Paradise's chorus fit together well and that's how it was done.

In general Dark Paradise is a really beautiful song despite it being a little dark. Lyrically it can be interpreteted as handling loss of someone you hold dear and even though Sanji didn't die, I wouldn't wonder if Nami and the others had a little fear that that could have been the worst case scenario.

Good thing it didn't happen though and they eventually had a tearful reunion~!

These chapters, we ride along on Klein’s journey into high society! I'd say he's doing a pretty good job. Not only is he presenting a lovely image, but due to his experience, he's ready for several scenarios. Not only a double-layered, but triple layers! Quite cautious of Klein, as expected. I like that about him.

Not only that, he's very charming. It seems even if Dwayne Dantès is seemingly too old for the ladies, that doesn't stop them from inquiring about him. He just has that rizz, ya know? 🤌

Another thing I want to remark on is Leonard's return. He seems to be slowly collecting some clues, even if he's unaware what those clues represent. And I wonder if Klein’s existence threatens the Zoroast Grandpa, and if yes, how? If not, what makes him wary towards Dwayne Dantès? What does the gray aura mean for him?

Speaking of returns, I love the comeback of some of Sherlock's Backlund friends and companions ayeeeee. Feels more stable that way.

Also, just like I hype up the moments when Klein got a lot of money, the moments when he has to spend it are equally as impactful for me. With the same pinch Klein feels, hah... but at least he's enjoying his time as a high society member? Yeah...

Oh yeah, what was that moment with Reinette Tinkerr and Sharron? Hah?? Teacher, huh? Interesting. Also, slay for Reinette cuz she has no interest and no rush with people who have debts with her. Slay.

“Can’t believe your plan…is beyond to what other pirates are thinking, and now you are planning to ask Luffy-kun to create an alliance with you…,” her eyes narrowed on the black coat keeping the cold away that had sneaked into the factory, “what are you planning, Law?” 

Stopping his escort of the straw-hat member, the Shichibukai looked over his shoulder to see her facial expression seeking for answers. Was she seriously thinking of reading him?

He adjusted his hold on his long sword over his shoulder before focus returned to the hall leading to the outside of the factory. “I have my reasons.”

“And what are those?”

Law sighed; the first time he had met the girl she was just as talkative, and if not questionable. If they did not hurry, Ceasar was going to become suspicious of him as he was given the task to take her to the cells and lock her up with the other straw hat members they had captured.

“That isn’t any of your business, woman.” Continuing his way into the hall, Law blinked as he found himself now staring at the girl.

Having come to block his path, Kagome’s glare tightened. “It is my business, Law. My captain’s safety is a priority to the other crew members, and I think you forget, I am one of those crew members.” Law was not really someone to feel threatened about, but that was before knowing he had become a Shichibukai. Working for the World Government, Navy, and wanting to ask for an alliance out of Luffy? That all sounded too fishy. Not to mention-

“-you plan to go against Doflamingo and Kaido?”

Law’s eyes narrowed upon hearing the names roll of her tongue.

“You do realize what you are proposing, not only for yourself, but for Luffy?” It came to her as a surprise when Law told her during her escorting if she knew where Luffy was exactly and what his plans were. She questioned it and Law proposed the alliance to not only put an end to Ceasar’s reign on Punk Hazard, but also put an end to Doflamingo and one of the Yonko. He was asking for war against two of the strongest pirates in the New World!

“Woman, don’t lecture me on what I already know.” Law scoffed as he walked around her.

“Do you really know?” She turned around; he stopped. “You might have come up with a plan, but this plan probably includes us, am I right?”

“This is a decision that your captain will make, not you.” Looking over his shoulder he noticed her pink glow growing over her palm. Eyes narrowed on her glow; the rumors were true?

“If I sense you as a threat to Luffy and the Straw Hats, I won’t hesitate to fight you here.”

Tilting his chin up, Law slowly turned to face the girl. “That glow isn’t from a fruit, is it.”

Kagome caught the statement. She was aware of the rumors that were spreading, and now it was becoming dangerous for a Shichibukai to know about her identity and where she came from.

Especially when she knew the one after her was working with Doflamingo.

“The Navy is searching for you, and you also have Doflamingo’s people coming, woman.” Law’s eyes narrowed, “your hopes of escaping them are slim, but my plan is to take Doflamingo down and Kaido. You are aware what needs to be done for your sake?”

And he was right. If she wanted to escape Doflamingo and Naraku’s clutches, then the only way to be free was to face them. She sighed under her breath as she broke the eye contact.

It also did not help that Luffy was bound to accept Law’s alliance without question so really, she was going to face Doflamingo no matter what.

“So what is it gonna be?” Law asked, brow rising. “I doubt you want to be a damsel in distress.”

“Shut it.” She stomped past him, “don’t act all mighty because you are one of the Shichibukai.” Quickly pointing a finger at him, the glow reappeared at the tip. “There is a reason why Doflamingo is after me and that is because a Shichibukai sees me as a threat, so you better watch it.”

A smirk played on Law’s lips. A threat, huh? So she was the last priestess of her land escaping the demon reign that took over.

And the only one who could put an end to them. It was worth having her on his side, for now.

a/n: I won't be updating this fic regularly, as I'm not really writing regularly at the moment (😭), but I wanted to do something here for @emerieweek2022! Which is also why I don't feel bad this is focused solely on Emerie. XD It is a bit short, but I just had to contribute and appreciate our girl!

Emerie barely slept.

She'd like to say it was because she was in a new and unfamiliar bedroom, but that had never stopped her before.

The bedroom she was provided at the palace was far grander than anything she'd ever slept in before. The bed itself as soft as she always imagined a fluffy, white cloud would be. But still sleep eluded her.

Her first day as Princess Cresseida's guard had been fine. Uneventful, really, other than that first meeting. It was a day spent lounging for the princess, and all Emerie needed to do was stand there and stay on alert. As simple a day as she'd likely ever get.

And that's what was eating at her. It could only get worse.

The men working for her seemed decent and competent enough, willing to listen to and obey her orders about how they keep the princess safe. While Emerie was Cresseida's main guard, Emerie commanded a few others to keep watch while Emerie was sleeping, or to help out when going to larger events.

Yet Emerie couldn't stop imagining Cresseida's scream echoing through the hall, picturing scenario after scenario where she popped up and ran into the princess' room, only to find out she was too late.

It was eating her alive, the consequences of this job. Of what could happen if she failed.

Morning came too quickly, and yet not soon enough. By five o'clock Emerie was dressed in her leathers with her quiver full, her long knives and bow in their holders behind her back.

"You're early," Balthazar, one of the guards on the princess' detail, said as he saw Emerie walk up to them. "The princess rarely stirs before ten in the morning. Her previous guard usually didn't get her until nine."

Emerie laughed softly and asked, "And what else am I supposed to do for four hours? I typically wake up no later than five. Six is sleeping in for me."

"I'm sure that'll change, with the late nights you'll be adding to your schedule." Balthazar gave her a toothy grin. "I'll let the cook know your breakfast should be served earlier."

"Won't I just be eating with all the other guards?"

Both Balthazar and the other one, Dominic, chuckled. "Not if you want to keep this job," Dominic added. "You can't be away from the princess for so long. Your breakfast is brought to you."

Emerie nodded in understanding, though couldn't hide the shock. "I've never had breakfast served to me like that."

"Welcome to your new life." Balthazar patted her on the shoulder in a comforting manner. "For today, I believe they're used to a schedule of breakfast served to you at eight. Can you wait?"

"Yeah, no problem. I can relieve one of you, if you'd like."

"Nah," Balthazar sighed, shaking his head. "Go get a bit more sleep. You might need it for today, the princess wants to go to the festival in town."

"Great," Emerie breathed. She gave them each a wave and walked back into her room, taking off her weapons and plopping down on the bed. She wouldn't be able to sleep, but she could finally start that book Nesta lent her.

Three hours later, Emerie was fully invested in the new romance, and found herself jumping out of her skin at the sound of a knock at the door.

She ate her breakfast - quite possibly the best she'd ever had - read a couple more chapters, and then went to relieve Balthazar and Dominic around nine. They'd need to figure out a new schedule, but she could wait a few days to see what would work best.

It was closer to eleven when Cresseida's servants were called and entered the room to prepare the princess for the day.

Emerie's restlessness heightened, her feet tapping on the floor in a quick rhythm. Nesta had come by and given Emerie Cresseida's schedule for the day. The afternoon would be spent at the festival and then a dinner with some of the nobility of Adriata.

"And remember, this dinner is important to the queen, so Cresseida must be completely presentable," Nesta had explained. "The princess likes to…enjoy herself. Keep an eye on her goblets, don't let her drink too much at the festival. She can indulge after the dinner."

It was a simple enough order. Easy to agree to. Nothing felt real while Emerie was just guarding the door and Cresseida was still sleeping.

Now that she was awake, and the day was about to start, it was. And Emerie wasn't sure she was ready.

"You're gonna head straight to the bathroom, right?" you asked him as he put his belongings down onto your kitchen counter. "Yeah. Have you eaten yet?" "No, I haven't. Does pizza sound good to you?" He nodded in response and you went ahead to get some delivered to your place.

Once the sound of the water hitting the tile floor could be heard as he had started his shower, your eyes glinted with exhilaration, and you tiptoed down the hall in search of your laundry basket.

Though it never really was a habit that you were proud of, sometimes you just couldn't help it. Your previous partners hadn't appreciated it much either, calling it either creepy or weird, and at times, even crazy. Which was why somewhere along the way, you decided it was something to be kept hidden. Especially from Sukuna.

Sukuna wiped down some of the leftover droplets of water off of himself with a second towel and then tossed it into the basket as he approached you. Grabbing you by the chin, he lifted your face so that you were looking at him.

"And what if I said that I liked it?" he said with a low voice, leaning in closer. "Well, um..." you started nervously, racking your brain for something to say. He chuckled endearingly at you, smirking. "Instead of my shirt, you can do it to me."

"Huh?" It hit you a couple of seconds late, what he meant with that sentence. You hitched in a breath.

"Aren't you lucky that I caught you before finishing my shower." You yelped as he abruptly lifted you up onto his shoulder, heading into your bedroom.

"I think I should make you tell me more about that little fixation of yours."

Your Soothing Sweetheart

You open your eyes and gasp and attempt to sit upright. It feels like your moving through molasses as you pull yourself from your dreams. 

You blink and look around your darkened bedroom.

Then you spot the alarm clock and it reads two, forty-five a.m. You bury your face in your hands as the memory of your dream is still fresh in your mind and begin to tremble. 

The form next to you stirs and inhales deeply. 

You try to lie back down and cover yourself with the covers so he won’t notice you awake. Although, half of you doesn’t want him to wake up, the other half does. You hear a low grumble from beside you and then an inhale. The mattress shifts beneath you as Cole rolls over and pauses for a moment, noticing that you’re no longer in his arms. He scoots closer to you and wraps his arm around you and you try to hide your trembling.

“Sweetheart?” Cole mumbles tiredly, “What’s wrong?”

You inhale sharply and shake your head in response.

“Honey?” he asks worriedly as he turns you towards him.

You look up at him and frown, “Cole…”

Cole blinks rapidly as his hand moves to your face, “Are you alright, Sweetheart? Talk to me.”

Normally your boyfriend Cole is a calm, and fun guy always cracking jokes, and when the situation calls for it he can be serious too. And no matter how many dangerous scenarios you’ve seen him in, you’ve never once seen him crack. But looking at him right now, you’ve never seen him so worried.

“I had a bad dream,” you admit quietly and sadly.

It feels silly to get so worked up over something so small, but there’s nothing but sympathy in Cole’s warm, brown eyes as he pulls you closer to his body.

“Oh, Darlin’, I’m sorry,” he says softly.

You wrap your arms around his neck and he rubs your back with his right hand. You tremble slightly as you’re on the verge of tears, the stress of your dream still running through you. 

Cole gently shushes you, “I’m here, Honeysuckle, I’ve got you. Just let it all out if you need to.”

You bury your face in Cole’s shoulder and sob quietly.

Cole continues to shush you periodically and rub your back, while occasionally pressing a kiss to your head. Your sobs quiet down to sniffles and Cole cups the back of your head with his right hand.

“You want to talk about it any?” he asks quietly.

You shake your head against his shoulder.

“Okay, that’s okay, do you feel any better now that you got all that out?” Cole asks gently.

You pull back from his shoulder which is now stained with your tears, “I guess, I’m still a little scared though.”

“Hey, that’s alright, you don’t gotta tough things out with me, Sweetheart,” Cole says stroking your cheek with his thumb.

“It’s just so stupid! The dream doesn’t even make any sense!” you whine in frustration. 

Cole huffs, “Yeah, dreams have a tendency to do that. But it don’t gotta make sense to still upset you.”

You let your left hand drop from Cole’s neck down to his hairy chest and lightly grip his chest hair.

Cole hooks his fingers under your chin, “Hey, Baby, look at me.” 

You glance up at him.

“I would never let anything happen to you, ok? No matter what it is that’s after you in your dreams, it’s gotta go through me first,” he says.

You smile a little.

Cole smiles too and leans in close to you, you tilt your head and kiss him.

“Now, C’mere,” he says.

He shifts to lie on his back and you shift to lay your head on his chest as you had before. He wraps his metal arm around you and pulls the covers around you with the other. 

You settle against him and start to close your eyes.

You feel his thumb wipe your cheek and gently around your eye. You hadn’t realized there were still a few stray tears clinging to your face. 

Cole gently caresses your cheek with his thumb some more, “I love you.”

“I love you too, Cole,” you say and press a kiss to his chest.

You hear the smile in his voice by his exhale and Cole continues to rub your cheek.

“I won’t let anything hurt you, Darlin’, I promise. Now just try and get some rest,” Cole says.

You nod against him and eventually you drift off to sleep again.

DBZ Timelines

I got bored, so I’m gonna go through the alternate timelines created by Bulma’s time machine.  I’ve done this a few times before, but I don’t want to look that up, and besides, it’s kind of a fun mental exercise to go over this again. 

I won’t be covering all the time travel shenanigans in the Zamasu Saga from Dragon Ball Super, because (a) I’m thinking about rewatching DBS next year and (b) fuck the Zamasu Saga, it’s dumb as hell.

Part of the reason I’m interested in this is because I want to analyze the role of Gero’s computer in Movie 7, but I think that might deserve its own post, so I’ll just stick to the timeline discussion for now, and we’ll talk about Android 13 another time.

Okay, so in the past, I’ve identified these timelines with letters, but I always get them mixed up, so this time I’m going to name the timelines after a character or plot point unique to that world’s history.  

Also, just to be clear, I’m only talking about timelines that diverged because of time travel.  It’s fine to say that some of the movies take place in “alternate timelines”, and it’s fine to talk about “what if” scenarios, and imagine a world where Raditz lived and married Launch.   But I don’t want to get into those.  I say this because sometimes I get so bogged down in scenarios like “Well what about a world where Trunks didn’t make the second trip to the past?” but Trunks did make the second trip to the past, and there’s no version of events where he only goes back in time once.  So it’s not worth getting into here.

Timeline A: The Gotenks Timeline. (Depicted in DBZ Episodes 1-291.)

This is the main timeline, the one we know the best, and the one that got altered by three separate time trips: Two visits from Future Trunks, and one by Imperfect Cell.  I’m naming it after Gotenks because this is the only world that could produce a Gotenks.  Buu could potentially show up in any version of the Earth, because he’s been lying dormant there for millions of years.   And Goten might exist on some timelines where Goku survived the heart virus.  But the only way you get Gotenks is for Goku to survive the heart virus, die at the Cell Games, learn the Fusion Dance in the afterlife, come back seven years later, and teach the technique to Goten and Trunks.  

Anyway, I’m not gonna spend a lot of time on this one, because I think you all know the drill by now.

Timeline B: The Future Trunks Timeline (Depicted in DBZ Episodes 1-118, 194, History of Trunks TV Special)

I’m often tempted to call this the “unaltered” timeline, but it’s not, thanks to the events of Episode 194.  In this world, Goku dies of the heart virus, then Gero’s androids attack and kill all the Z-fighters except Gohan, who trains Trunks to help defend the earth.  After Gohan’s death, Bulma completes a time machine, and sends Trunks back to Age 764, where he warns Goku about the androids and gives him the heart virus medicine.  Trunks returns, refuels the time machine, and goes back a second time to Age 767, where he joins the battle against the androids in Timeline A. 

Crucially, Trunks learns about Cell during this trip, and he spends a couple of years in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, so when he returns to his native timeline, he’s a little older and a lot stronger, and he’s forewarned about Cell’s eventual attempt to hijack the time machine.  Trunks overwhelms 17 and 18 in a direct confrontation, then waits for Cell to make his move and kills him as well.

I call this one the Future Trunks Timeline because this is the one where Trunks actually saves his world and wins.  It’s also the springboard for all Future Trunks related stories that have followed.   The Trunks from Xenoverse, Blunks from Dragon Ball Super, the Trunks from the Bojack movie, whatever Dragon Ball Heroes is doing with him, those versions of the character might differ from one another, but they all share the same experience of winning the battles fought in DBZ #194.

Timeline C: The Remote Timeline (Depicted in DBZ 1-138, Movie 7?)

This is a timeline whose events we never actually witness directly.  Still it’s heavily implied to exist, because the next timeline (see below) kind of depends on it.   Essentially, this is a world where Trunks’ two visits took place, but not Cell’s.  

What happens then is this: The Z-Fighters prepare for Gero’s androids, Trunks shows up to join them, only to discover they’re fighting the “wrong” androids, Gero withdraws to his lab and reactivates 17 and 18, who defeat Vegeta.  Everything plays out just like it did in Timeline A, except the abandoned time machine and Cell’s molt are never discovered. 

Instead, Dragon Team continues to cope with the android crisis they were already dealing with.  The conventional wisdom is that they eventually figured out that Gero had a sub-basement, which they raided and discovered the plans for #17, just like in Episode 145.  Bulma uses that information to build a remote control to shut down 17 and 18, and that solves everything. 

Presumably, Piccolo never fuses with Kami in this timeline, because Kami only agreed to merge with Piccolo because of Cell’s presence, which isn’t a factor here.  It’s possible that Goku and Vegeta resolved to train to surpass 17 and 18, but with Bulma’s remote involved, their efforts probably became academic.  

Movie 7 could function as an epilogue to this untold version of the story, since it features all the main characters just going about their business as if 17 and 18 were already defeated.  They don’t have to fool with Cell, because this timeline doesn’t get a visit from a future version of Cell.    And we never see Super Saiyan Gohan or Vegeta and Trunks in their beefy new “ascended” forms because they never went in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.  There’s a few other details to sort out, but I’ll save that for another time.  

So why does Timeline C matter if it was never directly shown in the manga or anime?   Well, you see, we need it to set up...

Timeline D: The Cell Origin Timeline (Depicted in DBZ Episodes 1-118, History of Trunks TV Special, Flashbacks in DBZ Episodes 143, 164, and 190)

The other timelines each have their own version of Cell, but this is the only one that matters, because this version is the only one that survives long enough to fulfill his programming and achieve his perfect form. 

Most of what we know about this timeline comes from Cell explaining his backstory to Piccolo in DBZ Episode 143.  He lived in a world just like the one Future Trunks came from, only he’s from a few years later, after 17 and 18 have been destroyed.  So he eventually learned about the time machine and stole it, killing Trunks in the process.   Then Cell went back in time, entering Timeline A, and you know the rest.  

In other words, this timeline is almost exactly like Timeline B, where Future Trunks is from.   The difference is that in Timeline B, Trunks found out about Cell ambushing him in advance, so when the time came, he was ready for him, as seen in DBZ #194.   So that’s the difference between B and D.   In one, Trunks wins, and in the other, Cell wins. 

But it’s not quite that simple.   The only reason Trunks-B was prepared was because of his adventures in Timeline A.   Trunks-D had a similar time travel adventure, but it couldn’t have been in Timeline A, or he would have met Cell there and known to watch his neck later. 

And that’s why we need Timeline C, a timeline where this version of Trunks could visit and change to defeat the androids, but with no Cell in it for him to warn him about the ambush waiting for him back home.  It never gets shown in the official material because it would just be a less exciting version of Timeline A. 

This is also why I think Dragon Team used a remote to defeat 17 and 18 in Timeline C.  If they had trained and won through brute strength, then Trunks-D would have been a lot stronger, and he probably would have stood a chance against an ambush by Imperfect Cell.   But whenever we see the flashbacks of his death, it looks like Cell kills him with ease.   In this version of events, Trunks used technology to thwart 17 and 18, but the remote would be useless against Cell. 

The reason we see so little of this timeline is because Cell is literally the only major character left from that world. All of the Z-Fighters and androids are dead.  Trunks is dead because Cell ate him.  Bulma may have survived, but for all we know Cell had her for dessert.  Then Cell went to Timeline A and died himself.  So Timeline D may have finally found peace, but at great cost.

And yeah, I think that about wraps this up.   Now that I’ve gone through it again, I realize it’s pretty much just how I remembered from the last time I thought about it.   Stay tuned for some Movie 7 overanalysis, and remember: Fuck the Zamasu Saga forever.

You stared down at the leeks in front of you, tapping your chin as you tried to decide which ones looked the best.

“Ah, we should take these ones because they’re the perfect shade of green,” Hifumi hummed from beside you, reaching out to grab a handful of the vegetables. You marveled at his ability to be so precise so quickly as you diligently followed him around the grocery store.

“We should get some more broth too, right?” you asked, pointing to some boxes and Hifumi nodded at you as he pulled out the sheet of paper which listed all of the ingredients he needed.

“I almost forgot!” he exclaimed, shooting you a fond smile. “Thanks for reminding me, kitty,” he added with a wink.

You clutched the box in your hand, almost feeling your cheeks warm up as he freely threw around the pet name he had for you. You dropped the box in the shopping cart before scolding him.

“Fumi, you can’t say that! There are other people here,” you hissed, pushing the cart away from him. Hifumi pouted as he quickly walked to keep up with you.

“Aww, but you look so good today,” he said, his voice flirty. You shook your head and crossed your arms as he quickly grabbed some peas from the top shelf.

“Do I have to take your jacket off for you to behave?” you asked in feigned sternness. Hifumi brought a hand up to the back of his neck and pouted once more.

“No, I’ll be a good boy,” he said, slightly dejectedly. You bit back a smile and nodded at him.

“Good,” you stated. “Then go get some cabbages. I’ll go get the pancake mix for tomorrow morning,” you told him, leaving the cart with him before turning to go down another aisle.

Moments later, you were confronted with your boyfriend and a cart filled with ingredients and food. You could almost feel your stomach begin to growl as you looked over the cart.

“Wow, you really got everything you said you needed,” you mused, glancing over the items. “I don’t suppose you’re actually going to tell me what you’re cooking?” you asked, with a raised eyebrow.

Hifumi shook his head with a knowing smile and hummed as he held a bag of rice close to his chest.

“Nope, it’s a secret,” he said, more sensually than was necessary. You shook your head of those thoughts and focused on the cart before you.

“Isn’t this all gonna end up being really expensive?” you asked, the fresh vegetables almost shining where they sat. Hifumi let out a small laugh.

“Y/N-chan, don’t worry about the money at all, okay? I have more than enough and I want to make this meal especially for you so I don’t care how much it costs,” he said, calmingly, as he reached out to poke your cheek with his finger. “And besides, I make more than enough money to pay for this! What kind of boyfriend would I be if I couldn’t even do this much for my lovely kitt – I mean…my lovely Y/N-chan” he exclaimed.

You gave in and ended up thanking him graciously as the two of you made your way back to the front of the store.

“Woah, wait! Baby, look at this!” Hifumi exclaimed, drawing your attention over to where Hifumi was looking intensely at the long row of chocolates and sweets. You were about to tell him not to get distracted when he pulled out one of the boxes.

“Look! It’s shaped like a heart!” he exclaimed, shoving the box of chocolates at you. You looked at the detailed packaging and had to admit that it was, in fact, quite cute.

“Fumi, we really don’t need more sweets,” you said, trying to convince yourself more than him.

He looked at you with big eyes and you knew that you had lost power to resist. It was almost as though they were getting bigger and more pleading as he begged silently. You let out a small sigh and then put the chocolates in the cart.

“Alright fine, but only this one box,” you said, sternly.

Hifumi let out a cheer and placed a small kiss on your cheek to which you waved him away.

“Come on! Let���s pay for everything before one of us gets distracted again,” you said, smiling at your boyfriend playfully.

“Yes ma’am!” he said, saluting you with a straight face before breaking out into a grin and throwing an arm around you as the two of you walked towards the checkout line.
