Haikyuu Chapter 119: The Struggles Of The Weak-Willed

REFLECTION:

The chapter opens with a flashback where Ukai tells the second years that they should be searching for a captain to replace the third year (Sawamura) when he retires. Enoshita is actually recommended by the others to his face...surprising him, considering he actually quit the Volleyball club because GU was such a hardass. He ended up coming back, giving us the first glimpse of the former captain, Kurokawa Hiroki. The whole point of that flashback was to show why Enoshita is captain-material, namely because he can understand the hotheads and the timid types.

BACK TO THE PRESENT! The match is on and brutal but Karasuno is pulling ahead. Then, Yamaguchi is up to serve. He's nervous (shocker) but Tsukishima is there to encourage him ("Basically, we're already winning so there's no way you can make anything worse."). Yamaguchi rears up, serves...and hits a serve so weak, it tips over on the net, earning Karasuno set point. The chapter ends with Karasuno winning 24-20.
