#i stopped halfway thru HAJHAAJA#i think im coming 2 the conclusion that i can only rly appreciate stamp from an outside perspective#i.e when ppl post edits or whatever#even from like a Show Design standpoint i think the pacing is really bizarre#and im not even talking ab the story itself right. like moreso just character interactions and expressions#nothing really lingers or lasts and i feel like theres no big Oomph to scenes#when i saw the edit of knives fighting the guards it looked SOOO COOL#but when it happened in the show like.. the music wasnt rly fitting and theres a lack of environmental sfx outside of blood splats / metal#its soo hard to explain but somethinf is just MISSINGGG .. also when vash passed out for like .2 sexonds i laughed what was that#blink and u miss it kind of thing.. and vash losing his arm didnt feel suspenseful .. like i want to wnjoy the edits so much#*enjoy the reimagining#but you barely see luida (WAS THAT LUIDA FRR HWLP SHE LOOKS SO DIFFERENT)#you see hee for two seconds and suddenly this like monotone convo turns into omg vash angel arm WHAAT but u arent actually saying WHAAAT bc#u ddint have time to process anything and then its alr over . i just cant get into it im sry IM SRYY!!#and . i do generally just pref the structure of max and the intentional narrative choices w everything#the way knives cuts his arm off in anger in max vs like ‘to save himm❤️’ in stamp is much better @ characterizing him me thinks ..#overall i just think the manga had a better idea of what msg it wanted to convey whereas stamp is just a mixed grabbag of max references#trigun#trigun spoilers

Just got back from watching a production of Les Mis and yeah man to love another person really is to see the face of God 😭😭😭
#my favourite musical. last time i saw it was in..... 2015? around there#i have... some criticisms for this production but it made me cry a lot and left me dehydrated so it's still a win!#les mis#ramblings of a bystander#ok but seriously who decided to cast what looked like two south east asian sisters as child cosette and child eponine#and then adult eponine was also south east asian but cosette was NOT and was a full white woman#bizarre choice. we have so many characters to keep track of you should not be confusing my ability to follow them#a bit TOO many extras and too much activity on stage during sort of ensemble scenes#that made it a bit difficult to locate who was actually speaking/singing a couple times#javert was just a touch too stiff in his body language. actually a few missed body language opportunities#that would have helped clarify what was happening I'm just lucky to really know it all already#REALLY didn't like fantine's characterisation and delivery on a few lines but otherwise she was fine#also i can't believe enjolras first appeared on stage NOT wearing red and then had a costume change for the les amis cafe meetup#just put him in red straight away? why did grantaire also have a costume change to completely different color scheme at one point.#...it WAS a good production I'm just nitpicking. because it's my fave so i have OPINIONS#jean valjean was fantastic!#anyway. I'm gonna make myself some dinner now. and then see what I've missed

Saw people posting images upon images of ""proof"" that some ship was canon, & in every single image. It was just the 2 characters standing next to eachother & reacting normally, or looking at eachother during a conversation w/ no particular facial expressions.
#gale chatter#point one: you don't need proof of canon that's not the point of fandom -- do what you want#also a lot of people posting that the two characters sang together. the source is a musical type of thing#maybe there's like voice delivery but i saw nothing compelling in these images#+ based on the media we're talking abt#pretty sure people just picked the 2 most charasmatic characters that have any amt of interesting interactions#to ship which is valid bc everyone else seems like cardboard nothings#i feel like I'm losing my gourd here#so many posts. so many different posts by different people#& Nothing is happening in these images#one of the characters is noteworthy for not being subtle & i can appreciate the idea that they could become shh#shy. if their feeling are genuine. but the people who made this media are incapable of making a character with any amt of complexity#that is too much for them to handle

little kid me never realized just how gay the color purple (musical) was. presumably the book as well. i ought to read it!
#two movies in one month#it's a new personal record!#but yeah i loved the musical when i saw it forever ago with my grandma and the movie was just as wonderful#saw it with mom and grandma and my aunt and a family friend and mom and i kept crying#was a really nice and different way to spend christmas#so glad they brought fantasia back because her performance is aAAAAAAAAA#hopefully she wins something for it#the color purple#agent babbles
