This ever happen to you??

So...get this guys... I call my mom up (arranging Christmas plans and stuff like that), we talk for a bit, and she tells me something hilarious! So, she had to get a new phone cause her old one died out of the blue (lol) and she was all excited and what not, right? you all following? Good? Ok! She goes into her photo album...And guess what she finds? Her new 2018-2019 photos are all gone...And replacing them are old ass photos from back in 2014 and crap...But that’s not the craziest part, oh no! Including them, she found out that her ex-boyfriend has come back to haunt her once more, as his deleted photos had revived and she had to (once again!) go through and delete every last one of them! OMG I nearly DIED LAUGHING! Three minutes tops at least!! So....yeah....that was the highlight of my day! LOL

This video will show you what a photo emulsion is and how a professional conservator might salvage a photo damaged in a particular way. Similar techniques are often used to make prints, but in this case he is salvaging the photo. 

There is a little bit of narration which is not in English, but that doesn't deter from the value of seeing that wrinkled emulsion slide off the paper. It's an great technique and a testament to the durability of silver-based photo processes.

Some of the rain-damaged photos look like the sweetest kindergarten art project, with grit and leaves adhered to damp squares and rectangles. Some look psychedelic, with the human and the inanimate swirling into one. Each photograph has become a new kind of memento: an image of one moment redefined by another. If this open-air photo exhibition has a theme, perhaps it is that nature’s dominion makes precious all things — not the photograph, but the living moment it all too inadequately has captured.
