Okay So my brother has Victorious on.

It's that singing club competition episode. This episode always bothered me because of the message it sends:

Long story short, Jade and Kat get kicked out of a karaoke club by the daughters of the owner, who really can't sing to save their lives.

To get revenge, Kat and Jade get Tori to dress up in a way that's considered "ugly" and tell Hailey and Tara to pick anyone in the audience to sing against them because anyone would be better than them.

Well, they pick Tori, who is dressed in a big sweater, wearing a blond wig and a fake nose and glasses.

And yah people in the audience are laughing and shit as she walks up to the mic, but it's when she starts singing, and everyone looks at each other like, "wow this girl is a freak" as Tori is singing really, really well. Then, Tori starts to shed her disguise-- tossing off the wig and taking off the sweater to show a cute, sparkly top and

BAM

Everyone suddenly loves the girl, who only seconds before, had still been singing the exact same way as now, but just wore different clothes (and okay had a fake nose). And of course, Tori wins.

But the message this episode sends to viewers-- who, chances are, are kids anywhere from 6-18 or older-- is horrendous. People those ages are so vulnerable when it comes to body image. This episode is telling kids that you have to be beautiful to be successful, and that talent is measured by beauty.

Why the fuck would the creators of this show make this episode?...
