I can’t believe tumblr wasn’t all over bbuk 2023 the whole love triangle thing screams tumblr: Jordan liking Matty but Henry being smitten with Jordan, Matty not being interested but still always trying to talk to Jordan but Jordan setting boundaries cause he doesn’t wanna perpetuate the love triangle plot line.

Jordan proceeding to ignore both Matty and Henry after hearing them talk about him leading to Henry crying in the diary room.

Jordan and Henry making up again and being good friends then plot twist Jordan gets fake evicted (whilst he’s fake evicted Henry gave him his necklace which he still hasn’t taken off) then saved and put back in the house, Jordan and Henry reunite and spend the next days snogging all over the place whilst maintaining the narrative that it’s platonic.

Then Jordan wins, they all leave the house and and do a bunch of press and interviews with Jordan and henry maintaining their relationship.

And then Jordan posted m/m romance fiction on his instagram story for funsies. That’s not relevant to the triangle it’s just funny 😭

That’s not even all of it, I wanna study Jordan’s brain in a lab, the whole thing screams ao3 reality tv au and I love it

Big Brother UK 21: Episode 13

US Big Brother had a Head of House mechanic for years, didn't it? I dreaded the idea of BBUK adopting this mechanic - but actually, it's been good. I like it because BBUK continues to aggressively enforce the ban on discussing nominations.

I really like the game to determine this week's Heads of House (two of them!). Previous Head of House Khaled is summoned to a room containing glass portraits of all 14 housemates. He's invited to smash the portrait of one housemate to prevent them becoming Head of House - and then he gets to choose who gets to enter the room next.

In this way, portraits are smashed until only two remain.

This week's Heads of House are Dean and Ali. Ali's done incredibly well, I reckon - after a spiky few days with Khaled, she's nobody's enemy. But we'll see how she does after being Head of House this week.

So I've been watching cbb and I feel like the problem with American big brother right now is that it's still the American format but they're grooming and branding current houseguests as if they were competing in European big brother. Like the game is completely irrelevant at this point, the houseguests only care about exposure and their next career move once they're out of the house. These types of houseguests are much better suited for bbuk where they would get to show off their personality and be submitted to public vote rather than play a strategy game. If CBS truly wants to save the American format of big brother then they need to start casting actual strategists instead of summer campers because at this point it is plainly obvious that none of these people came to play the game. It's seriously not enjoyable to watch anymore.
