“Alright, my sweet brain boy, I’ve got the dirt on the Doctor- not you, the other Doctor.  You know what I mean.”

Spencer nodded- then he, in all of his genius, remembered that Penelope could not see him.

“What did you find?” he asked, pulling his legs up on his office chair.  He hadn’t left the university grounds after his fight with you and his call with Garcia.  You had left.  He was sure of it.  His office window gave him a great view of the parking lot, and hence, a great view of you leaving.  Reid, on the other hand, had stayed inside his office waiting for this second call.

“Well, it looks like you may have some competition in the doctorate department.  Doctor (L/N),” she stressed your title, “Also has three PhDs- one in criminology, one in law, and one in- get this- English Literature.  They’ve written a few really good articles, mostly on crime stuff, but also on Pride and Prejudice.  And oh, their takes on Elizabeth and Darcy- it’s enough to make a girl swoon.”

“Okay,” Spencer sighed.  None of this would help him get back at you- most of it was knowledge he could attain with a casual google search, “What else do you have for me?”

“Well, our dear Doctor is active in the community.  They help ex-cons get GEDs in their spare time, they donate to various charities and nonprofits, they support the local arts. They've got a lot of hobbies, they enjoy Halloween a lot- oh, and their mom is super proud of them.”

“What else, Garcia?”

“They have two cats, a couple siblings, a few nieces and nephews- it looks like they’re good with kids.”

“This isn’t relevant,” Spencer groaned, trying to hide his frustration.  He was looking for ways to get under your skin the way you had gotten under his.  He didn’t need to know every nice thing about you.

“Hey, you want kids, don’t you pretty boy?”  A deep voice that was very much not Garcia’s came over the line.

“Morgan is here, by the way,” at the very least, Penelope had the decency to sound a little embarrassed.

“I can hear that.  How long has he been listening?”

“Long enough to hear that you and this Mystery Professor would make a good match.  I mean, where else are you gonna find someone with three PhDs and a face like that?”

Spencer could hear Garcia’s gasp, even though she had pulled away from the phone.  When she spoke again, her voice was playful, “We’re looking for him, not for you.  What would Savannah say?  What should I say?”

“Easy baby girl, I’m just letting our boy know that I approve.”

“Hold on,” Spencer’s voice broke through the bickering of his former co-workers, “I think there’s been a misunderstanding.  I am not interested in (Y/N) (L/N).”

“Oh?  Then whyfore the background check, boy genius?”

“Is something wrong, Reid?”

“No, no, it’s nothing- it’s not like they’re a threat to my safety or anyone’s safety.  They’re just…”

“Just what, kid?”

Spencer drew in a sharp breath, trying to keep his cool.  He had to be calm- collected.  He couldn’t let Derek and Penelope know that you were so deep under his skin, inside the tissue of his brain, that he couldn’t stop thinking about you.  He couldn’t keep his mind from running back to the image of your face, glaring at him as you took the typewriter from his hands.  They would get the wrong idea.  The entire wrong idea.  So, Spencer had to remain cool.

He immediately failed.

“They’re just really fucking annoying, okay!?”

“Damn, kid!  Okay!  What did they do, tell you that Doctor Who was just okay?”

“No, you don’t get it-” Spencer hissed, flopping further into his chair as he proceeded to rant about the entire typewriter thing.  He quoted you word for word, too- of course he did, eidetic memory.  Once he finished, Morgan and Garcia seemed to take on a new understanding of the situation.

“I see!  This wasn’t a love call, but one for information!!  A stockpile of knowledge for devious pranks- that is why you called, right?  You need info for getting back at the lovely Professor?”

“Yes-!  They aren’t lovely, but yes.”

“Kid, anyone who can make you write emails is lovely in Garcia’s book.”

“Listen to your local Morgan, Reid- now, do you have a revenge plot already?”

“Sort of?”  Spencer shared his plans with Garcia, smiling to himself at the sound of her laugh.  His brand of humor didn’t usually get that reaction. 

“Sounds perfect, Reid- I can help with that, but I’m gonna need a secure connection, Dr. (L/N)’s email address, and everything you know about the benefits of handwritten notes.”

Once the plan was fully fleshed out, Spencer hung up the phone and finally, finally made his way out of his office with a rare spring in his step.  His plan was set.  The trap was in place.  Your beloved technology would be your downfall.  As he stepped onto the Metro, he had to keep from cackling like an overdramatic villain.  He was at a high point, and he really didn’t want to be arrested for causing a disturbance.  

Meanwhile, back at Quantico, Morgan and Garica looked at each other, the now silent phone placed between them.

“So, those two are-”

“They are perfect for each other, yes.”

“We’ve gotta help him.”

“Absolutely.  Hey, once they get together, do you think he’ll introduce me?  I want to talk to Dr. (L/N) about their Pride and Prejudice hot takes.”

“Careful, Garcia.  We’re shopping for him, not for you.”

“Hey, I just appreciate a person who can see the true nuances in one Fitzwilliam Darcy!  And I wanna know which film adaptation is their favourite.”

“Hey, lovebirds,” Rossi’s voice came from the door of Garcia’s office, “The rest of us have been ready to go for fifteen minutes.  What’s the hold up?”

“Nothing, Rossi.”

“We just found a perfect match for one Spencer Reid.”

“Really?  Interesting.  Tell me more later.  Let’s go.”

Two days later, you opened your PowerPoint slides only to find a presentation about the benefits of handwritten notes.  Everything you had in place for that day was gone.  All that was in its place was a genuinely well-crafted presentation about how writing notes by hand was better for attention retention and memorization.  

Honestly, you couldn’t even get that mad.  It was a good presentation.  

Still, you had a reputation to maintain.

You bit your lip and crossed your arms, becoming the picture of barely contained rage.  You took a deep breath, turning to your students and slapping a strained smile across your lips.

“Forgive me, my lovely students, but given this sudden turn of events, I’m just going to cancel class for today.  The correct notes will be on the class website later.”

You made your way to the door, leaving all your belongings behind in your haste, “Enjoy your afternoons, I’m going to go stab Dr. Spencer Reid.  In the throat.  Have a good day!”

A few students gave quiet, confused farewells.  Others leaned over to each other and whispered, “Stabbing is a sex thing, right?”

To which of your OC's characters would you entrust your own cat? 😼

Oh this requires more thinking than I would have thought. My first pick would be my man James because he's a cat lover. BUT my beautiful cat has social anxiety and likes to hide around strangers. As much as I love James he is an elder and I don't think he'd be up to checking under all the beds for her. Plus he would smell like Hamlet and Gertrude which would freak my cat out. Alexander is an animal lover but like James he'd smell of their cats.

The Chopra's would obviously look after her well, they have an entire Noah's ark situation after all, they know how to care for animals. BUT you know Savannah and Mercedes would not be letting her have a moment peace so that's out to. She's 12 and over being pestered.

Hmm… I want to say Devin, I really do, but let's be real. She's too loud for my scaredy cat. Lots of my sims are pretty loud. Who is quiet? Samir! But he's a werewolf and I'm pretty sure that would freak her out...

I'd have to go with Keira! She's one of my most quiet sims, virtues of being a loner. She's also a perfectionist so you know she would never miss a meal or med time (yes my cat is now on arthritis medication). Plus being a geek she'd likely have the tv going which would put my cat at ease. She'd have to try and get Marta to not squeal in delight at my cat, but big hearted Marta would be considerate.

Class of Villainy - Villainous Dorm Rooms

When the new students arrived at DuPont, they knew that the old dorm rooms were too boring and shabby for villains such as themselves. They gave the staff an ultimatum. Change the rooms, or incur their wrath. Wanting to avoid more trouble, magic was used to give the dorms an upgrade.

Marinette & Alya: These two eccentric young villainesses quickly formed a bond over their love of tormenting others, becoming the best of friends as they conjured up cruel tricks and traps. They're also each other's wicked wingwomen in the dating scene.

Marinette's Side: A room with a black and white motif. The place where Marinette stores her favorite outfits and accessories. There's a huge fur closet for all of her coats. Alya's Side: A huge lab with all kinds of potions and chemicals. There are a few transformed objects and transformed people that she has captured as her pets.

Adrien & Nino: Bonding over their love of deception and manipulating the weak minded, these tricksters quickly became the vilest of best bros, sharing a laugh over their best cons and scams. Adrien's Side: A small lair which has a similar vibe to the palace of Agrabah. There's a snake motif to the place, and a little birdcage for Wayhem. Nino's Side: A mix between a circus tent and a fox hole.

Juleka & Rose: A devoted pair of villainous lovers, the Candy Queen and the Mistress of Evil couldn't be happier to share their space, placing aspects of themselves in the other's half as they rule side-by-side. Rose's Side: A bright and peppy room, pink serving as the main color, with a candy motif to everything along with a touch of sci-fi. Rose has her own mini racing track that she can drive around in. There's a light pink throne. Juleka's Side: A room very similar to her own castle. A gothic vibe, bats swarming the place, stone floors, and a black throne, everything lit by green flames.

Nathaniel & Marc: These two were paired up because the staff was threatened with decapitation if any other arrangement was made. Devoted to the bitter end, they rule over the school from their matching thrones. Marc's Side: A huge throneroom, lavish furniture, everything is dark and ominous. He has his magic mirror as well as his lab for poisons and potions. Nathaniel's Side: Similar to his throneroom in Wonderland. There's croquet mallets, axes, tarts, all fit for the Mad King.

Ismael & Alix: The King of the Savannah and the Queen of the Jungle plot out how to control their lands from the comfort of their room. One of their favorite pastimes is to pounce on each other when they least expect it. They also have various strings and other cat toys. Ismael's Side: A dark cave filled with furniture made of animal bones. Alix's Side: A jungle vibe, filled with the fur and bones of her enemies.

Kim & Max: Your classic bully-and-nerd pairing... sort of. Kim never seems to learn that trying to threaten and strong-arm Max into doing his homework always ends with him at the business end of some robotic weapon or another. Kim's Side: A room filled with workout equipment and body parts from all of the animals he's killed. Max's side: It's pretty much a mini supervillain lair, filled with gadgets and robots. Max gets very annoyed with people touching his things, so he's got a very hi-tech security system.

Chloe & Sabrina: Haughty and imperious, these aristocrats quickly found common ground in their love of looking down on others. They spend their time planning new ways to make people they dislike feel like dirt. Chloe's Side: A huge and lavish room, yet with a dark and shadowy vibe. Her bed is absolutely enormous. Sabrina's Side: A mix between a pawn shop and a cave full of diamonds.

Jean & Reshma: With their shared love of all things golden and shiny, you'd think these two would be a perfect match. However, territorial feelings over their respective hoards has led them to clash more than once! Jean's Side: Modeled after an underwater cave, filled with his treasure that they have collected over the years. Reshma's Side: Looks simlar to her cabin in Captain Anarka's pirate ship. Also filled with various riches that she plundered.

Ivan & Denise: Quickly forming a bond over their mutual love of the dark and macabre, these two have a longstanding game of sorts, trying to frighten the other. (Ivan finds Denise's shadows to be fine company!) Denise's Side: Modeled after their families shop, but with their own dark twist. Ancient masks, bones, and talismans are everywhere. Ivan's Side: Looks like a haunted casino. Skulls, a huge roulette wheel, a cooking pot, and the walls are covered with bugs. There's also various instruments of torture hung up on the walls.

Simon & Aurore: A match made in the pits of hell. Aurore's endless amount of energy and lack of any sort of order causes Simon to think about committing the most vile sin of all... killing one of his friends. Aurore just thinks they don't know how to have fun! Simon's Side: They have an incredibly religious room. Crosses and prayer books everywhere. There's a painting of Virgin Mary on the wall and a huge fireplace. Aurore's Side: Messy as all hell. Potions and spell ingredients everywhere, an absolute pigsty of a shack.

Mylene & Mireille: One brings fire and the other brings water from the depths of the sea. You'd think these two would despise each other, but they actually get along quite well... when Mylene isn't dousing Mireille's flaming hair, that is. (The sea witch finds Tikki and Plagg to be adorable and enjoys messing with them.) Mylene's Side: A coral reef design, looks like an aquatic lair. Filled with various trinkets and potions. Has a magical mirror where she can view the poor unfortunate souls that failed to complete her contracts, trapped in the depths of the sea. Also has a small house for her electric eels. Mireille's Side: A cavernous room fit for the young Goddess of Death. There's a portal inside where they can travel to the Underworld and fill out her duties. Her side of the room is flameproof, allowing them to safely rage out when things aren't going her way.

Zoe & Kagami: A pair of ruthless militants with an urge to overthrow their parents. These two quickly bonded over a shared love of swordplay, and running their enemies into the ground. They frequently duel for fun, and plan to unite their nations after graduation. Kagami's Side: Set up in a similar manner to the Huns war camp. The room is decorated with the armor and weapons from her fallen enemies. Zoe's Side: A well-furnished and lavish room, styled after her room from the Palace of the Southern Isles. It's elegant, but there's a cold feeling in the air.

Cosette & Lacey: A pair of treacherous snakes, these two quickly found that they couldn't pull the wool over the other's eyes, and grew to respect each other for it. They often trade methods of manipulation and gaslighting. Lacey's Side: Styled after the top of a medieval tower. A dark and sinister room, filled with weapons and disguises. Cosette's Side: A room very similar to an office. Very tidy, with desks and mugs.

Ondine & Luka: The two sidekicks actually get along quite well, sharing an overall relaxed vibe. Luka will even flirt with the redhead at times, just to anger Kim. (The tantrum that Kim had when he found out she had a male roommate is LEGENDARY). Ondine's Side: A relatively ordinary dorm room, since she was already going here as a student. Well, everything’s normal except for the huge amount of pictures and memorbilia belonging to Kim. She even has a huge painting of him above her fireplace. Luka's Side: A dark and ominous musical vibe. There's a huge pipe organ, and a grand piano that activates a trap door.

Paldea League explanation time

Might as well go into an explanation ramble about my picks for the Paldean league here! I did on AO3 but gonna mostly crosspost this here cause I feel like it.

Katy - grizzly bear This is a pretty obvious one. Considering she has a bug tera Teddiursa/Ursaring (because bears are often depicted as honey lovers in media), it makes sense why I'd make her a bear. Katy's also like a sweet momma bear in terms of her personality (not unlike another trainer here in Paldea, who is also a momma bear in terms of her personality, but more formidable, in this AU).

Brassius - serval I was just gonna make him an ocelot (because jungle cat) when he was first revealed in the trailer, but I kinda eventually wanted to make him part serval too, because servals have cute ears that I wanted to draw. Then I didn't really think he looked like a ocelot anymore, so I just made him a regular serval (yes, I'm aware servals are from the savannah, not the jungle/rainforest). He also jumped down from a windmill on his feet, hence the saying a cat always lands on its feet.

Iono - ragamuffin calico cat Iono just screams "cat girl" energy to me. Originally drew her as a pale orange and white cat, but I hated the design I did. So I went with a dilute calico to match her two toned hair, with one side of her fur being gray and the other half being pale orange. I also realized I unintentionally made a pun on cation.

Kofu - walrus Was gonna make him a hybrid between a walrus and a sea otter but last second, I just made him a walrus because the ears looked weird. I kinda went a bit half baked on the thought process of this, but I think he'd be a jolly old walrus, even if walruses are pretty territorial in real life. Also, first time I've drawn a walrus.

Larry - gray wolf Furry analysis thing. Wolves are like one of the most (if not the most) common species for a fursona. Larry may be a basic salaryman, but we all love him for that. Gave Larry some rather basic markings (gray fur, light gray markings on the snout, limbs, stomach and ear insides, and a black tipped tail; I know adult wolves don't have blue eyes but it's not uncommon to see wolf fursonas with blue eyes) for an average wolf to go with his theme. Larry's also almost always hungry, so I could say he's hungry like a wolf. Another point I initially forgot to add is that Larry's really popular among Pokemon fans, reminds me of how the furry fandom just goes bonkers whenever the media releases a new wolf character (*looks over at Legoshi, Mr. Wolf, and Death*).

Ryme - red fox So, this is a slight headcanon-ish thing that I've "dropped"/"forgotten about". Fox Ryme still works, cause she has a Houndstone, the fox and the Houndstone. I just think she'd be a fox, it just comes naturally to me (the urge to add a fox every time).

Tulip - leopard Okay so this is a questionable one. When I first saw Tulip's design, she instantly reminded me of Clawroline from Kirby and the Forgotten Land and I can't really shake that off, which is the reason why she looks like Clawroline in my AU. Also, the area around Alfornada is kinda like a savannah, and Tulip does have an Espartha on her team, which is technically an ostrich, another savannah animal.

Grusha - siberian husky Again, a pretty obvious one. All the ice type specialists (that I know of) in this Pokemon AU are all animals that originate from/inhabit places from, yet it took me this long to make an ice type specialist a husky in my AU. Also, those icy blue eyes of his are too hard to pass for a husky.

Rika - egyptian mau/sand cat mix This was a neat design to do. This design was pulled out randomly because I do have this headcanon that she's Falkner's older cousin (Falkner in this AU is an egyptian mau cat). She's also part sand cat to tie in with her being a ground type specialist. She mostly just looks your average spotted tabby though.

Poppy - raccoon When I saw her, I was instantly like "OMG, she's so adorable, she's my favourite character in this game" (no matter what everyone else says). Raccoons are my second favourite animal, but I didn't really think Poppy's design would translate well into a fox, so I went with a raccoon instantly because of her silver clothing and black hair gave off raccoon fur vibes. Raccoons allegedly like shiny objects, and Poppy has a giant key around her neck, so a perfect match. I could really just go on about this design choice, but I'd rather not make it too long or too deep. I didn't initially notice this at first but I found out that Poppy's giant key is actually a purse that she stores candy in, raccoons for sure have a sweet tooth as well.

Hassel - st bernard/golden retriever mix His hair colour reminds of a golden retriever but his face kinda reminds me of a st bernard. I'd definitely imagine a happy Hassel to be a blubbering and slobbering dog (st bernards drool a lot) in my AU, and I'd say both breeds would match him nicely.

Geeta - bobtail tortoiseshell cat I was gonna make her a bombay (black) cat initially, but I chose a tortoiseshell last minute, I'm not sure why, probably just to try and match her design more, I don't know to be honest. I eventually thought of the bobtail since I like the idea of Iono, Rika and Geeta being the three cats of the Paldea league (cause Brassius and Tulip aren't domestic cats), and them having a different vibe to them, with Iono being fluffy with a bushy tail, Rika being sleeker with a sleek tail, and Geeta kinda being inbetween with a cute little bobtail.
