l'altro giorno ho letto un articolo di giornale del 1971 che parlava del cantagiro (okay parlava dell'esibizione dei lz al cantagiro scusate l'oscurantismo) e menzionava sanremo dicendo tipo "ormai i giovani non seguono sanremo lo guardano solo gli ultratrentenni" e mi fa un sacco ridere perché quella stessa fascia demografica degli allora ultratrentenni ossia dei nati nel tardo ventennio è letteralmente rimasta la audience primaria di sanremo fino al 2017

Fabrizio Corona - notorious (derogatory) paparazzo in Italy, general nuisance and waste of oxygen. Allegedly team Fedez (?????)

Angelica Montini - fashion designer and influencer (?), Fedez' mistress

Achille Lauro - un gran pezzo di manzo Singer and alleged fling of Chiara. Used to be friends with Fedez, they released a song together.

Important dates:

2016 - Chiara and Fedez start dating

2017 - Fedez proposes in the middle of a concert

March 2018 - their first kid, Leone, is born

September 2018 - they get married (y'all need to look the wedding up, it was insane)

The fraud

Chiara endorsed a pink pandoro made by Balocco - a % of the sales for the pandoro was supposed to go as a donation to a pediatric hospital. Turns out that Balocco made a one time donation of 50k prior to the pandoro going on sale and kept the rest of the €€€ and so did Chiara.

Chiara claims that she didn't know about it, her reputation suffers a bit of a hit, everyone starts eyeing her, things are not good.

Ferragnez

I need y'all to understand that Chiara and Fedez were everywhere in Italy. Brand deals, constant socmed posting, they even had their own tv show ffs (two seasons of these guys, TWO!!). Literally everywhere. The Ferragnez were a brand (a là Brangelina)

The cheating

Turns out that Fedez had been cheating on Chiara for the majority of the relationship. According to Corona, Fedez was in love with Angelica but Angelica was never that into Fedez. He was so down bad for this girl that the day he got married, he called Angelica and said "Just one word from you and I'll walk away from all of this" - clearly she told him "wtf you on bro" because the Ferragnez wedding went ahead as scheduled. Fedez was too chicken shit to actually break off the relationship because of the kid (only one at the time) and the brand/money involved. The cheating continued up until their separation.

Despite dropping the bombshell and dragging his so called friend through the mud, Corona came out and told Chiara to stop making herself look like a victim because she did her fair share of cheating as well. He said he would drop names in the coming days and started by pointing fingers at Achille Lauro (god, I've seen what you've done for others, when will it be my turn???)

Conclusion (and my thoughts which you didn't ask for lmao)

The saga is not over and we'll have more in the coming weeks. Sanremo is in aprox two weeks (y'all know how crazy that is), and both Fedez and Achille are going to be participating 👀

Fedez had also decided to compete with the song "Bella stronza" (translation: beautiful bitch [idk it's hard to properly explain the connotations of 'stronza' if you don't speak italian]) during the duet/cover night, which... Bro. Tone deaf much?

The timing of everything is very sus. The fact that this whole drama came out now and basically buried all conversations about Chiara's fraud charges, the fact that everyone and their nonna will be watching Achille and Fedez at Sanremo, etc etc.

Again, a bit sus.

But I do feel bad for the kids... Their parents basically have broadcast their lives 24/7 for everyone to see and idk. It's a bit sad 😶

UPDATE: Sanremo (Finally)

During the week, I promised you at some point I would get my ranking done for the Sanremo contest, Italy's National Final along with the inspiration for Eurovision.

Sanremo becomes a real "who's who" as people return to compete every year. This year, we have 4 past Eurovision participants: Achille Lauro (who represented San Marino in 2022), Francesca Michielin (Italy 2016), Francesco Gabbani (Italy 2017), and Massimo Ranieri (Italy 1971 & 1973).

I listened to all 29 songs in this iconic event (we usually have 30 but one dropped out for...reasons *I got the songs off Eurovision World, they have an article about this and that's all I'm gonna say*). My favorite was Joan Thiele with "Eco"

Se le parole arriveranno per altre canzoni

Post lungo su Marco Masini. Sono fan di Maso da quando ho memoria, ma so di far parte di una minoranza, quindi continuo dopo il salto

C'è Sanremo. Ho questo post in canna da mesi, ma ho voluto aspettare il festival perché ho pensato (sperato) che avrebbe partecipato, o magari avrebbe approfittato del festival per far uscire un nuovo album. Il fatto è che è in ritardo, e non lo è solo ora, è in ritardo da quando è tornato, dal 2005.

"Breve" ripasso per chi si fosse perso la storia di Masini.

Esordisce come cantante professionista e solista vincendo un Sanremo Giovani nel 1990 con Disperato, arrivando secondo l'anno successivo con Perché lo fai. Negli anni '90 ha fatto uscire dei pezzi incredibili, che tutt'ora porta ai concerti perché sono i pezzi a cui i suoi fans sono più affezionati. Personalmente, credo di aver ascoltato talmente tante volte l'album Il cielo della vergine (quello con Bella stronza e Principessa, per capirci... cacchio, due delle sue più belle canzoni in un solo album!) tanto da consumare il nastro.

Poi, come per Mia Martini, si diffuse la voce che Marco Masini portava sfiga. E fu la fine.

Nel 2001 uscì l'album Uscita di sicurezza. L'album contiene una canzone, a mio parere nemmeno tanto bella o memorabile (Il gusto di esistere), che però dice così

Ma ho sotterrato il presente distante e mi son ritrovato nuovo Come una pianta che nasce da un seme o una bestia da un uovo Ed ho pagato il biglietto di vivere in una maniera diversa Come l'omino che corre all'uscita di sicurezza Perché il gusto di esistere da quando son nato Il gusto di esistere non mi è ancora passato!

Ci stava salutando. Stava salutando noi fans perché quella era l'ultima canzone dell'album, ed era, in quel momento, il suo ultimo album. Pochi mesi dopo l'uscita del disco, ha annunciato il ritiro.

L'ho ritrovato anni dopo, in un concerto organizzato in concomitanza a un raduno di Alleanza Nazionale (già), nell'estate 2003, in provincia di Roma. Era la sua prima apparizione pubblica dopo Uscita di Sicurezza. L'ho trovato dimagrito, anzi, in condizioni pessime. Credo non pesasse più di 55 kg circa, forse arrivava a 60. Però fece il concerto, e tenne botta per due ore. Mesi dopo annunciò il ritorno e la partecipazione a Sanremo, e quell'anno vinse! Durante quel periodo uscirono un po' di singoli, tra cui L'uomo volante che vinse al festival, per poi pubblicarli prima in una raccolta chiamata ...Il mio cammino, poi una raccolta chiamata Masini dopo Sanremo, per includere anche quella traccia.

Due anni dopo l'addio già tornava. Allora pensai che si era accorto che voleva continuare, ed ero strafelice. Partecipò ancora a Sanremo e uscì un album tra quelli che amo di più: Il giardino delle api. Solo canzoni inedite. Siamo al 2005.

Poi raccolte, raccolte, rifacimenti... dopo il 2005 uscirono album di inediti nel 2009, nel 2011 e nel 2017. E basta. Ha partecipato a spettacoli, ha cantato canzoni di altri, ha registrato dei live, ha inciso dischi con sue vecchie canzoni riarrangiate... ma niente di nuovo. Dal 2011 al 2017 sono 6 anni, dal 2017 a oggi sono 7 anni. Negli ultimi 19 anni, finora, ha pubblicato quattro albumi di canzoni nuove

E poi ripenso a una canzone del 2011: Marco come me, nell'album Niente d'importante. È una canzone autobiografica (ogni tanto ne fa), che fa da risposta - o almeno io la leggo come una risposta - a una canzone molto più vecchia: 10 anni del 2000. Entrambe le canzoni chiudono i rispettivi album e nei vecchi concerti (prima del 2010, diciamo, che poi non li ho più visti) 10 anni era la canzone di chiusura. Dice:

Io canterò di città in città, Cercando sempre i tuoi occhi E ti sorriderò. Io volerò sopra questa realtà E non saremo mai vecchi E non ti perderò. Ma, oltre questo miracolo, Io sto aspettando la vita come te, In questo eterno spettacolo Che faccio per amore, amore, Amore, amore, amore, amore sì! Sì! Fra i tuoi sogni e i miei sbagli Sono passati così Questi nostri dieci anni interminabili

Chiudeva i concerti parlando con noi al pubblico, dedicandoci un pensiero, augurandosi di trovarci e sorriderci ancora. Poi arriva il 2011, Marco come me:

E poi non resta tempo per raccontare di me I riflettori ormai si sono spenti, e il pubblico non c'è E l'eco delle voci e degli applausi sfuma Un po' di autografi, e qualcuno sa dove si cena Ho raccontato storie, confezionato bugie Verissime e sincere le ho rubate oppure sono mie. Hai visto quanta gente, ho visto sì ma forse Erano qui per uno che si chiama Marco come me, E veste come me e ride come me, Si prende la ribalta ed il calore come se La vita vera poi non riguardasse lui E me la lascia lì buttata fuori dal teatro E neanche sale con me in macchina. E non gli fa paura il tempo che è passato E non s'incazza se gli dicono non sei cresciuto Non si è mai domandato cosa farà domani Se le parole arriveranno per altre canzoni. Invece io ci penso quando rimango solo In camere d'albergo presto che perdiamo il volo. Ecco, io questo post lo scrivo per quei versi in neretto, cantati nel 2011, ma evidentemente non tanto lontani. Questo testo l'ho voluto mettere tutto perché tagliarlo non aveva senso. È un appello, sta dicendo qualcosa di spiacevole e lo sta dicendo - di nuovo - a noi fans. Ci sta dicendo, già nel 2011, che è una vita che gli pesa e l'affetto del pubblico forse non è più sufficiente.

L'album del 2017 è stato interessante, ma non memorabile. Sono usciti singoli nuovi, pubblicati in raccolte con canzoni vecchie, ma un album di 7-12 canzoni tutte nuove lo stiamo ancora aspettando.

Questo post non è una lamentela, più che altro è uno sfogo. Quindi - chissà che Marco non passi di qui - lo finisco con un saluto: il tuo pubblico ti aspetta, ma grazie comunque di tutto fino a ora e in bocca al lupo.

Il 18 settembre 2024 Marco Masini compirà 60 anni... magari il prossimo album uscirà in quella occasione
