Happy 10th – Here's a Present

If you're reading this, know that I would like to spend the 50th Mianite anniversary with you as well. The memories will only get better. I've been on the DL about my Mianite activities since Season 2, but the truth is that back in 2021-2022 I played in a private Mianite RP with some dear friends. There were five or six of us at a given time (the ideal number). We were passionate. The only thing we lacked was the ability to stream. So the whole thing was a sand castle. We did it because we loved it. Then it was gone with the tide. One of the coolest things we did in that RP was develop the character of World Historian. Yes, the black-hooded edge lord who farmed the insecurities of his own kids until the world they loved (Ruxomar) was a lifeless husk. Botan Kikoku, we used to call him. Bearer of the Kikoku blade. He's grown up a lot since 2015.

Kindergarten crush (Open rp)

It was recess at Toby's kindergarten and he was playing in the sandbox, making a sandcastle. Suddenly, the three bully kids came along, stomped on his castle and kicked sand in his face, which made Toby cry.

"Toby's a crybaby! Toby's a crybaby!" They all chanted.

"Hey, that's enough!" The newest girl in Toby's class came to his side, standing bravely between him and the bullies. "You better leave him alone!"

"Who's gonna make us?" Kevin, the leader, asked.

"I am!" she proclaimed, but the three kids looked at her and laughed.

"What are you gonna do? Make us sit down for a tea party?" they continued laughing, but the leader suddenly got a mouthful of sand. She picked up some sand and threw it in their faces. She looked ready to rumble, but the kids ran off coughing and rubbing their eyes. She stood triumphantly while Toby watched in awe. He felt something flutter in his belly when he watched her.

"Hey, are you okay?" the girl asked, helping him up.

"U-Um, yeah, I'm-I'm okay. Thank you." he answered.

"No problem. Those guys were jerks, but don't let them put you down. I like your ears and tail, by the way; I like dogs!" Toby felt his face get hot as he blushed. Soon, the bell rang for lunchtime.

"See you later!" she smiled and went inside. As he watched her go, Toby felt weird. He was all warm and fuzzy inside. Could it be that he was experiencing...his first crush?

On what platform did you start to write?; How far do go with divergencies when it comes to your canon muse?; What are the trends when it comes to writing that you adore?

As far as I can remember, I first started writting in the context of RP on Deviantart about....11 years ago according to my account. But I was into fanfiction and started writting my own a little bit before that just in like word document.

As for diverging from canon....Uh, let's just say I tend to have a mindset of "Canon is but the sand with which I build my castle"

I generally respect most details of canon, and I either stick mostly too them or make them important details, but I'm also very much into taking things my own direction, especially if it's info we don't have a lot of solid canon for or against. For the case of Volo I basically turned around and said "There's nothing to say he *couldn't* have made good on those last words an actually lived centuries to achive his goals"

Though my main verse I'm also more than aware is basically an AU more than anything, but that's okay too. Sometimes people like writting with a main AU verse and I thought it could be something interesting to do.

Trends....I'm not really aware of any? formatting maybe, I'm too lazy to do icons anymore but I think they can be really cute and fun ways to spice up a thread though obviously I still like to have a few graphics on my blog.

It was a quiet day in Tokyo when disaster struck. A sudden explosion rocked the city, sending shockwaves through the streets. Buildings shook and windows shattered as the force of the blast sent a plume of smoke into the air.

People in the vicinity began to run in panic as the chaos spread. Buildings lit up in blue flames, crumbling like sand castles, debris littered the area. Screams of terror echoed through the streets as the reality of the situation dawned on the unsuspecting citizens. Meanwhile, the city heroes sprang into action. Hawks, the fastest of them all, surveyed the area and began searching for the cause of the disturbance. He flew over the city, his wings slicing through the air, and spotted a figure moving among the shadows. Hawks flew closer to the figure, making sure to stay out of sight. He couldn't believe his eyes. It was Dabi. What the hell was he doing?

But as he approached him, he noticed that Dabi looked different. The anger and insanity that had always defined him were nowhere to be seen. Instead, there was a calm determination on his face.Dabi turned to face Hawks, and a small smile graced his lips. "Just wanted to say hi. It's been a while, hasn't it?"Hawks raised an eyebrow. This was odd behaviour, even for Dabi. "Yeah, it has. What're you playing at?"

“Just wanted to see my favorite Birdy is that a crime~?”

“It is when you start fires everywhere!” Hawks waved his arms around as if to show Dabi what he has done

Dabi let out a dark chuckle “You just jealous my attention is elsewhere~ how does it feel Birdy~?”

I know it's been a few days since the 10th anniversary of Kill La Kill, so I'm late on celebrating it. But I still wanna do something for it. After all, to this day it still remains the only anime I've seen in full. So... I'm gonna list of off every song I remember putting on a mixtape I made back when I first heard of Kill La Kill deliberately based on my incredibly limited knowledge of it. Why not?

(B/w a "keep reading" cut because of course I babbled on long-ish.)

First of all, I had the title song from School Of Rock and "School's Out" by Alice Cooper. I knew the anime had something to do with school... Like, that that was the setting. So, I included these two. I think I even had them bookend the mixtape. Well, technically, but I'll get to that at the end.

I also had songs like "It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Want To Rock 'N' Roll)" and "I'm On My Way" on there because... Y'know, the big lyric of "Before my body is dry" is "don't use your way," so of course I had to include some songs with the word "way" in the title on there. Right? I'm sure if I'd known about "The Way" by Fastball at the time I would've included that, too.

Those were the only songs that were included that were two to a theme, I think. After that, they're all addressing a single theme. For instance, "Mudd Club" by Frank Zappa. Because school clubs were important, but I didn't have any songs about those, so I just chose one with "club" in the title. That's actually about the same reasoning why I included "Castles Made Of Sand" by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. I knew there was a flashback scene that involved sand castles, so...

Meanwhile, "Sloop John B" by The Beach Boys wasn't chosen for the song title, but the band's name. Literally, the only reason why any Beach Boys song was on this mixtape was because I looked at Nudist Beach and thought, "Well, clearly I need something with beach in the name... But I don't have anything in my iTunes library, so..."

I should also note, by the way, that I actually did include a coule of samples from the anime in there as interludes. And by "a couple," I mean, like, "actually only just two." The first one was a sample of "Before my body is dry" where I looped the "don't lose your way" part, reversed it on itself a bunch of times and ran it through a vinyl record filter plug-in I'd gotten for Audacity. The other sample was from some random scene I didn't have any context for that I'd just looked up on YouTube. It was also ran through that vinyl record filter.

Penultimately, there was "When The Tigers Broke Free" by Pink Floyd. I was aware that Ryuko's hunt for the person who murdered her father was a big part of the plot. Mostly, largely and pretty much entirely because of the line in the song "I gotta find out who killed my dad." So... I guess here's a song where Roger Waters recounts how his dad died in World War II. I mean, I don't think Waters had to look very hard to find out who killed his dad.

And finally, we have a hidden track, coming many minutes of silence after the final listed song "School's Out". I included at the end as a bonus because it's really the thing that got me to eventually binge the whole anime in one day. Not the same day I first heard this song, I mean, but still. This was the spark that led to me doing it. Even more so than the roleplay forum I was a part of at the time having its own RP based on it (and the person who ran that was where I got most of my second-hand info, by the way). Seriously, the thing that got me to eventually watch Kill La Kill, which the only anime I've ever finished, and in general is so damn important to me was...
