like most things that were both peculiar and beautiful, she, like the many thousands of roses and lilacs before her, was to be remembered as she was now - an eternal girl, in this one, infinite moment.

I wrote a post about the possibility of our Kim Shin to return as a Joseungsaja HERE. I think my heart is now broken beyond repair for both of them and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for this to happen. Kim Shin technically committed suicide in episode 13, and we know that is a huge sin punishable by torture of hundreds of years and an appointment as a Joseungsaja.
Check out the last picture - black suit, white collar, definitely looks like a Joseungsaja, right? In a room full of candles! Coincidence? I hope not. I really hope it’s him - our lonely dokkaebi - and I hope he finds a way to get back to her. Anything, writer-nim, director-nim, please just anything - just let these two be together. Ji Euntak’s cries as her dokkaebi turned to ash hurt me so much - that scene was so spectacular I sobbed like I did when I first read about Sirius Black’s death and Dumbledore’s, years ago and those weren’t easy deaths, people. Each came with a whole week of an emotional breakdown. It was THAT bad. I’m just lucky school starts on Monday - my eyes are swollen OMG.
So I’m just going to stay hopeful. I really am. I’m already so invested in this production there’s nothing I could do. But I believe we all should stay hopeful! Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll retire to my bed and continue being emotionally broken. Six more days to go. I hope he comes back. Because I really don’t know what I’d do if he doesn’t.

Samshin-Halmang (삼신 할머니) is the Korean goddess of life and childbirth. She was once a human girl, but after winning the flower-blooming contest (flowers symbolize life in Korean mythology) between her and the Dragon Lord’s daughter, she became the Goddess charged with pregnancy and delivering of babies. She protects babies and mothers from harm, and is the patron of midwives. It is said that after midwives die, they become spirits called ‘Samshin’ and help Samshin-halmang.
