I had a gut-dropping tinge of a theory about the use of “puppet” when referring to Accord and now, knowing what we know about the Cage being the [redacted], and the implications from the game/anime/Pearl Harbor with N2 being a manipulator this whole time in regards to YoRHa…
Are the Watchers (or whoever is currently representing them - N2, perhaps?) manipulating Accord? 🤔
But then would she be omniscient (or omnipotent - I can never recall which one) enough to know, given she can see across all timelines?
#I’m going to be sick about this#we all know how Particular Yoko Taro is about using words#even if they’re not 100% obvious#the distinction between Android and Machine while technically being of the same thing#but here we have Puppet#which also leads me To the Library in SinoAlice being considered#in the nier canon#and how the two things we are met with are Puppets#which might just be irrelevant overthinking on my part so#these are the thoughts I have at 7am#‘she must be thinking about someone else’ no im thinking about how DrakeNieR violently fisted me and i#said thank you with big open arms and legs#why is Accord referred to as a Puppet#perhaps that is what they’re called in the Kingdom of Night#my… drakeneories (drakenier theories)#why exactly is Accord so invested in the Branch when the Cult is formed#do you think there’s some big cat and mouse game between Accord and the Watchers???

Hellooooo.... I feel a little obligated to thank all the people who've stuck by me all these years (m- -m) I've been posting my silly drawings on the internet for more than two decades now, and it humbles me to know a bunch of you still like it and continue to support me, despite all the chaos (and some shame) that has been my digital footprint🚶♂️ .....
Admittedly, I don't have the drive to draw as much as I did years back and I wish I did bc art's the one thing I love doing the most. Like yes, sometimes all it takes is a grotesque little creature (enki) to show up and kick u back into gear, but the creative output just isn't the same anymore.
Errrr what else ... Sinoalice is OVER.... (my beloved little gacha game i was shackled to) it's depressing, and for me to acknowledge how badly I'm going to miss having it in my life is an understatement T_T Above all else it depresses me to think I never really bothered to draw fanart for it considering I dedicated 20 mins of my day every day for 5 years to logging in to the game to hang out with my guildmates/friends.
I don't have a lot of other interesting things to say about 2023. I'm using NY's as an excuse to change some things about my life such as POSTING MORE ART!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and being less cryptic. I wanted to talk abt my yearly recap on my personal but i figured it'd be nice to break the radio silence here.
alright sorry i talk so much, thank you everyone for being nice to me i adore you all. I hope 2024 brings all of you happiness and prosperity.
Also, here's a drawing of Maria i did on tegaki.

One more thing. Why did Alice's baby get mentioned in Hamelin Alternative's story? And why exactly did the Alternatives exist if they weren't the Library characters?
Alice's fetus was not in Reality Hameln's story. I think you are thinking of 'It All Starts with The Stars' where he, as well as the rest of the alts not in the event itself, are reading The Galactic Road Library Abridged' book and commentating on it which is the event. In the event, everything is happening because Alice's fetus was trying to save Reality Alice from her suicide. His verse was where that is explained. Reality Hameln's story is that he's a very strict piano teacher with major depression issues and religion trauma. So much happens but tldr he has a protege student he was hyperfixed on because he entrusted his dreams to him die in a fire, for which he blames himself for despite being on leave of absence at the time. He does not mention Alice there. Library=/= Not Alts but also yes and no, it's a very complicated answer. From my personal impressions from the game story and interviews, it's not the characters themselves going to Library, but their personal desire. This is why they share the same face and can have similar memories. It's not the entire person being reborn, but rather just a part of them -their desire was so strong it manifested in Library. Library is the corner where all worlds go, and it has many, many timelines and runs on desire. The dolls need desire to keep Library afloat. In the game, all the characters were on equal standing. In the movie and manga and GL ending, it's Reality Alice only escaping back to her world after the events for a variety of reasons depending on which canon. JP had a whole other ending because it got to fully tell it's story. SINoALICE is just... complicated lol

NieR Reincarnation The People and the World Emerald Spoiler Post
This post contains all the juicy developments you should probably not know about if you want to play it yourself but that you probably should know about if you don't want to touch the gacha game with a 9-foot-pole. and trust me: this chapter? wild. open on your own risk. spoilers abound. no really this time.
GIVE IT UP FOR SINOALICE GUYS, THE LIBRARY IS PART OF THE CAGE
IT'S NOT JUST VAGUELY SIMILAR IT'S ABSOLUTELY THE SAME THING. I KNEW IT LOOKED FAMILIAR, ESPECIALLY WITH THE RING OF FLOATING BOOK SHELVES BUT IT ONLY HIT ME WHEN REACHING PARRAH AND NOYA
(for context, yurie and 063y go so far into the cage through the distortions caused by the current attack on it they end up in a library - the library - where all the cage's stories are stored as books.)
i was so expecting it to turn into that library again that i wasn't even thinking about sinoalice. and who can blame me, it's not as if i was wrong:
(btw for those that missed it sinoalice has always been canonically part of drakenier)
also another accord reference (of course it's in F66x's book)
my absolute favorite thing though is this realistic render of a car at the beginning of the final storybook segment
it's just there. menacingly.
all in all fantastic chapter. i'm also - of course - expanding my divine summon voice of cards conspiracy board with yurie's new costume (haven't been proven wrong yet!) but i will wait until the model sheet is posted to twitter

HAMELIN ACT OF DESIRE ENGLISH TRANSLATION. Thank you for helping @bad-blood-animal You may watch the video here. Does not include the cut scene translation since jyong3 has that already done on his Alice video.
Hameln: "Thank you. It's because of you, I didn't lose my way. Because I was the one you chose, I was able to remember the memories of the previous me. Hameln looks over to the mass of flesh and prepares his weapon. "There's so much I want to talk about with you, but alas…. I need to settle things with Anki first." To bring an end to the never ending cycle of the story, Hameln swings down his bloodsoaked weapon.
Anki: Can't you understand this is futile?! Anki: Why must you keep doing this over and over again?! Hameln: Anki. You are a fool to no end. Hameln: So ugly.
Hameln: "Now, for the finale!" Hameln's scythe emitted a brilliant light that engulfed the mass of flesh. A repulsive smell hung in the air as the mass of flesh fell apart and crumbled down beneath the tower. Dorothy:"It's time for our great, great GREAT victory! Now, let's get outta here while we still can!" Using Dorothy as a guide, everyone boarded onto the time machine. On it, all of the characters celebrated their victory and rescue. Some of them clapped their hands. Some of them expressed hesitation on their face.
Hameln: While I was bounded with that mass of flesh, I could hear the sound of your voice. It was so direct. I couldn't help but feel like it was beautiful.
Hameln: When this battle is finished, may I go to your world?
Hameln: Once we get to a safer place… Tell me all about your guildmates. Tell me about your everyday life. Let me know which moments you find beautiful.
Hamelin: Teach me your principles. What do you find ugly, and what do you find beautiful? I want you to show me your world.
Hameln: When night comes, we'll have a grand diner party with all of the other characters. I'd like to be able to share a splendid evening with you, that will be remembered for the rest of our lives, filled with beautiful things.
Hameln: And on the day you take a long, deep sleep…. Allow me to stay at your bedside for awhile, so I can call you by your beautiful name….
Hameln: I'm so glad you decided to start SINoALICE. I'm so glad I was able to meet you.
Hameln: Thank you, for saving us from that story of despair. Thank you… for saving me. And thank you for the beautiful memories.
Hameln: "It will be the same no matter how many times you repeat this!" Hameln swung his scythe down onto the reaching tentacles and sliced them off, as they attempted to restrain the flying machine. He looked down below to the bottom of the tower, where the dismembered tentacles were now multiplying and regenerating tentacles quickly. The other characters followed Hamelin's lead, trying to fend off the tentacles, but it was for naught. "It's about to be bumpy. Be careful and try to not bite your tongues!" Dorothy made the machine go higher, and increased it's speed, so that they could flee the tentacles.
Gishin: No matter how strong the characters are, they are ultimately the results of desire. All of the masses of desire created by humans cannot be so easily defeated.
Anki: Ha… HAHAHA!! Gacha will continue to exist and collect human desires!
Anki: I'm immortal! The ultimate despair! HEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!!
Hameln: How is it that you can be so ugly… When the one who created you understands what the ultimate beauty is?
Dorothy: Hmmm… I see. I see. Dorothy has realized something, and nodded. "If it's us characters, we won't be able to defeat it. But I think if it's users from the outside of the SINoALICE system, maybe…. !" Gishin cuts them off, and speaks of despair. "As of now, communication features to the SINoALICE system has been cut off, and it's not able to make contact with the outside world. There's no way to stop that monster of desire.

Famitsu Dec 28th Issue Summary
Coverage for the Dec 28th Famitsu, which has a special feature on SINoALICE JP's ending. It includes an interview with Shogo Maeda, Fujimoto, and Yoko Taro. YOU ARE AT THE POINT OF NO RETURN. THIS INCLUDES SPOILERS FOR THE FINALE. Summary only since I am too busy for a word-by-word translation. And yes, I got a jump scare by my little sister in the user collage spread. Highlights only.
'How has your life changed in the last six years?' Yoko Taro says SINo came out around the time of Automata and both were widely well received and became a hit. Before them, he didn't have a lot of production lined up for awhile, and he wasn't confident in selling titles using his name as a brand so he just kept grinding through it. After these two titles, he found some success and felt like a celebrity, and he has been growing since.
Maeda says his life hasn't changed much since, saying he hasn't gotten married yet but at least he got a salary raise. He's working on his happiness.
Fujimoto: What? You got an increase in money, and you're still not happy?
Yoko: You saying that money is happiness shows your true human nature. But true happiness cannot be bought with money. Fujimoto: "True, but money is important" They all laugh.
Yoko Taro has mentioned several times before that Pokelabo and it's writing staff is in charge event scenarios, weapon stories, and job stories, but that he oversees main story with a second writer. The ending to the game was actually the first thing he wrote when creating SINoALICE's story.
He was especially excited, creating the final boss which is the result of the player's desire and gacha pulling all of these years. Taro has said in several interviews before that the dolls and a 'creature we have not yet seen' as of 5th anniversary were his favorite characters, and he confirms the Desire Mass is it.
Maeda, on the other hand, does things on a whim sometimes. They bring up the covid lockdown, and how Maeda decided to do a live in a bathrobe with wine spur of the moment. He spilled some of the wine on himself. Taro: "You decided, 'let's do a live that will make Maeda-san's mother sad.' Maeda insists she enjoyed it.
Maeda said planning events has always been a bit of a hassle because he wants to do something no one has ever seen before, and reminiscences about the mini van from 5th anniv. He says he doesn't wanna do the same things more than once which Taro agrees with. Fujimoto was just genuinely impressed Maeda pulled off the van stunt. When it was time for 6th anniv to come, they knew EoS was coming and they were pushed to their limit, so they wanted to go all out. It was also one of the most expensive anniversary to date, with only Fourth ANniv/Death Metal coming in first. They talk about how strained and out of ideas they were, while trying to oversee the writing to the final edition of Reality, the final batch to Act of SINoALICE and working full time on Desire.
They said due to Gishin & Anki's bizarre behavior, it was fun and also easy to blame all the crazy things they came up with to fit the game's uniqueness on them.
Interviewer: 'This is a farfetched question I know, but what are the odds to a sequel to SINoALICE?' Yoko Taro says that usually he'd answer these questions with, 'Give me money and I will do anything', but says it's been a long time, and so much work has been put in 'til now and couldn't accept money as he feels SINoALICE is complete. Fujimoto agrees.
Maeda on the other hand says that in regards to a SINoALICE sequel, he cannot discuss this due to his company's policy.
Yoko Taro goes on a bit saying he didn't want to make a social game that had no value after it died, and hopes SINoALICE and it's contents and memories are carried in the users' hearts forever. Then complains that the service was a hit from what they were expected and he had to keep coming up with new arc ideas. 'SINoALICE was created with a definite end written, though.' He still brings up his 'Shut it down after one year, collect the money, then start a sequel up and repeat' idea Pokelabo laughed off. Maeda wanted to keep the game going as long as possible. They came to the conclusion that if sales were going down into red, and they properly conclude the story, SINoALICE can be shut down. Maeda says JP was not quite in that red zone, but it's better to end the game on it's own terms now that the story has been completed. A lot of budget also had to go into the Desire arc for all the gimmicks it does as well as post clearing it with your guild.
'… In addition to clearing that finale with your guildmates, we used a lot of our budget to store the data of players who cleared the ending. Along with this, we have to figure out how much data can be stored offline.' [Blood note: An offline version of the game has been announced. Clearing the Desire arc changes the game dramatically, and you can still login to the app after Jan 15th to view weapon, job and main story. Collab stuff had to be removed. Data transfer is not possible after the servers go down, and if you clear your cache after clearing the finale make sure to login again before the EoS date. If you do not clear the finale in Desire, your data will NOT be stored. Please note your tombstone and your profile will be publicly available on this version of the game]
'What was your favorite arc?' Maeda says the reality arc was the most memorable for him. Yoko Taro made the pitch first, and Maeda was confused. When it came to releasing it, Maeda was at a loss, saying the game was meant to be about fairytales but suddenly he is being asked to do a modern one. He felt a sense of awkwardness explaining this arc to the company, considering 'a lot of dangerous bridges were crossed in it.' They were also relieved they were able to get Matchie and Hameln out, despite Maeno's time-crunched schedule. To them, despite the story progressing without them until now, it was part of 'seeing the full story through.' Pokelabo staff at first were horrified by the Reality arc.
Taro interjects here, going on a long explanation about UI and how he wanted the story to be shorter since it was a social/mobile game, and designed it where you can skip over it with a tap or two, so players could easily choose to skip over everything.
User polls for players who did the Famitsu survery suggested Act of Reality by an overwhelming amount. Many comments were made about Piggy, Hameln, and Pinocchio and Snow's reality. Gretel's Act of Reality job stayed a player favorite start to end, but then the three laugh at how overwhelmingly popular Gretel's Story of Authors job became. 'It won the wallpaper poll, y'know?'
Act of SINoALICE came in behind it as favorites by the user. The comments for it showed that players liked the feeling of the characters coming together to stop an ominous force. Of all the chapters, Aladdin & Hameln's was the best recieved. Yoko says good. He was also pretty ecstatic about showing up in the main story and how he was potrayed. [Blood note: Yoko is in the first chapter of Dorothy and Piggies]
Statistics: 60% of players who did the Famitsu survery were female. Only 1% of players logged in the game for 2,000+ days. A majority have only been playing a yearish. [61.37%]
Famitsu did their own popularity poll; results look pretty similar give or take to our usual ones. Interestingly, Hameln went up by several slots. Maybe the extra story and events showing better sides to him helped? Here are the results. I'm happy to see Gretel continuing to get love.
Gretel
Alice & Snow were too close to call, so both got second place.
Ibarahime/Sleeping Beauty
Akazukin/Red Riding Hood
Alice
Cinderella
Pinocchio
Little Mermaid
Aladdin
Hameln
Dorothy
Kaguya Hime 13. Match Gir 14. Rapunzel 15. Three Little Pig 16. Nutcracker In addition to clearing the finale, your loading screen will now turn into a tombstone with the number of player you were to clear the finale. You can see the tombstone of other players who also have in the game. Yoko Taro hopes players enjoy the finale.
And that concludes the takeaways! This is the last Famitsu I am buying. It feels incredibly bittersweet.

Pinocchio In Wonderland
[Hello! Long time no post~ Due to some trouble with tumblr, I couldn't post the fic here first so it got posted over on my AO3. Tumblr has given me mercy and I can post properly again.]
Fandom: SINoALICE, Twisted Wonderland Rating: T Warnings: N/A [for now]
Summary:
Without warning, Pinocchio finds himself in a world different from the usual. The towering shelves reaching the impossibly high ceiling of the Library he had grown used to, is replaced with mirrors, portraits and a world larger than his own. With no way back to the comforting familiarity of the Library, Pinocchio struggles to adapt to this new world he's forced to live in for who knows how long. Thus, his tale begins where all things should be. Orientation. --- or -- Pinocchio ends up in Twisted Wonderland.
There once was a puppet that was given life. He is an obedient puppet, Followed his father's instructions to a T. One day, he awoke in a Library... And no one is there to tell him what to do.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ———
The moment Pinocchio's eyes opened, everything was in utter chaos. Cloaked figures scrambling across the room, ducking and dodging to safety as the other braver souls run around chasing the cause of the mess. A fork-tailed cat spewing fireballs ran around the room, burning curtains and candles and the cloaks of others in an attempt to... what?
Pinocchio isn't so sure what to make of this except look around, lost and confused. The cat, despite it looking like a monster, didn't look like a typical Nightmare. Not only that, the room he's in… floating mirrors that hang high and low surrounds them, with dark draperies and tall candelabras lighting the room with its strange green light.
The puppet's face contorts in panic, ‘Wh... why... is this not the Library?’
“Seize that racoon!” An older man with a strange bird-like mask barked (or screeched?), pointing at the fork-tailed cat breathing fire and throwing fireballs all over the place. More students scramble as the magic makes contact with the draperies, setting it ablaze but was put out in haste before it grew.
Two faces Pinocchio has never met before chases after the cat, one with red hair with a nasty scowl on his face and the other a white haired glasses wearing boy that followed behind the redhead. Both held up in their hand small wands with gems on top, generating sparkles that soon took the shape of a comet sent flying towards the cat. It yelps but retaliated with more fire their way.
Candelabras and candles were tossed and thrown about as they continued their chase, mirrors sent flying off course from where it once floated. The bird man that screeched earlier grew more frantic and demanding the more the cat made a mess of the room.
Pinocchio continued to watch the madness unfurl, further painting his face in deep confusion. Without a single clue what to do, he approached the nearest person beside him for questions. “Um, excuse me...” Pinocchio tugs at the person's sleeve, their head turning towards him. Underneath their hood, the poor Marionette could see the annoyed look in their green eyes.
“What? We're in the middle of something,” the person before him grumbled, arms crossed as they watched the cat cause further damages to the room. The person before him stood several heads taller than the puppet, looked strong enough to catch the cat in no time but his bored yawn told him otherwise, already ignoring him as if he never noticed his presence at all.
“Nyahaha! Take this!” The cat spews another fireball at the two pursuers, blocked instantly by an invisible shield before running off again.
The red headed pursuer, face turning into the same shade as his hair, looked as if he was about to explode. “STOP! OR ELSE IT'S OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!”
Pinocchio continued to stand awkwardly in place, fidgeting the sleeves of his cloak (he still doesn‘t know where he got it) as he watched the cat continue its reign of fiery destruction. No one exactly knws for sure what to do to help, but no one looked willing to help either way. If only they‘d have told the poor puppet to do something about it, then he might do something about it. But what exactly should he do? Oh, the dilemma the poor puppet is facing.
“Oi, dumbass,” a disembodied voice calls for him, directly into Pinocchio's ear. He tried to find the source of the voice but found no one facing his way. Who—
The voice calls out again, “On your ear, dumbass!” and Pinocchio follows, seeing his staff companion in the form of a small... earring thing. Pinocchio wasn't quite sure what had happened but despite it's smaller size, his companion is still as venomous as ever. “Hey, lets help those little punks. Or else, we'll be burnt to ashes.”
“But—” the Marionette's protest dies down before he could choke out his next word, the ever foul-mouthed head continuing to spew out insults, “Wanna die when this is all over? We‘re screwed if you don’t do something, dumbass!”
Driven to the need to follow his awful companion's directions, Pinocchio merely nods in agreement. After all, the head did make a sound argument, the poor puppet didn't want to be burnt to ashes.
As if drawing out the power of his companion, the ‘earring’ grows into the staff Pinocchio has always known it for, with its face contorted into an ugly condescending look. With the head raised high, he brings it down onto the ground, smashing the floor beneath as debris flew across the room. “MRAHH!” The cat stops mere centimeters away from the hammer and stumbles back, the shock wave caused by the staff nearly putting the two pursuers off balance as well.
Everyone, even the cat that almost had its head smashed into mush, turned to his presence.
The room goes silent. Then… the bird man screamed.
“W-what is the meaning of this?!” He approached the mess, frantic over the state of the entire room, with the burnt curtains and crater he created. “What have you done?!” The bird man wasn't particularly looking at anyone specific, but he was expecting Pinocchio to confess to the crime he has clearly committed, to the confusion of the marionette who was merely told what to do.
Pinocchio looked down onto his foul mouthed companion, seeking some form of guidance to his conundrum. But alas, all that came up was silence, leaving him alone to fend for himself.
"I– urk... I'm—" he stutters, barely able to come up with an excuse to save himself. It wasn't his fault, after all. He was merely told what to do, he couldn't be fully blamed for the mess that lay before him. “I-It's not my fault—”
The bird man didn't take too kindly to such a blatant lie. “Well, clearly someone is responsible for ruining the room as important and ancient as this one...,” he despaired while Pinocchio continued to stare in confusion.
The cat, who earlier was terrorizing the entire place, attempted to escape from the group. The red-haired student, quick on his feet, raised his wand and shouted, "—Off With Your Head!"
“Ugyaa!!” A heart-shaped collar appeared on the creature's neck, locked tightly like one would do with a pet on a leash. “The hell? Let me outta this thing!”
“Rule number 23 of the Queen of Heart's Law, ” the redhead spoke with authority and conviction in his voice, a fiery rage burning behind those gray eyes. “No cats are allowed in during important festivities.” He had a triumphant smile on his face, only shrugged off by the white haired student beside him.
The white haired student beside him claps, “Good show, Riddle~” He cheers, hand over his chest with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, as if envious of something. “Quite the handy Unique Magic that I must ha— I mean, I must give respect to.” The way he quickly catches his own words hinted something sinister in the puppet‘s mind, making him want to stay away.
The cat groans, tugging and pulling at the collar, the quiet clicking and clacking interrupting the conversation. The bird man ignores this and continues to speak his mind, “No matter, if no one owns this weasel—,” the ‘weasel’ in question makes a noise of protest, calling itself Grim, but his introduction was ignored and attention was turned towards Pinocchio. “You! Young man with that oddly shaped hammer.”
“M-me?!”
“Yes, you shall take care of this weasel.”
Grim immediately protested once again, jumping and fuming at the idea of some kid was going to babysit him. Pinocchio too, would like to protest against the idea but found it difficult to object, even raising his voice just a small bit was a chore, his very core screaming against it.
Seeing Pinocchio‘s hesitance as silent acceptance, the bird man shoves Grim into the puppet's arms. "I'll leave the responsibilities to you, young man." He cawed with authority, the poor puppet doing nothing but look down as he holds the cat tight within his grasps, lips drawn out into a small frown.
With everything sorted out, the bird man’s attitude changed immediately into joyous celebration, the pinpricks of glowing yellow where his eyes should be curves into crescents as his mouth forms into a smile. ”Now, let‘s continue on with the dorm assignments!”
The students scurry about to their positions while the seven imposing-looking figures (including Riddle and white-haired students) stand in front of the grouped up students. Pinocchio stared at the masses, a troubled look on his already troubled face. “Um—”
“Headmage!” Riddle speaks up before Pinocchio could, his narrowed eyes making the poor puppet straighten himself out. “All the first years students have been assigned to their respective dorms. All… except for him.” He points an accusing finger towards Pinocchio, making him flinch for the second time, looking more troubled than he had ever been to.
All this attention but no direction is making the puppet more anxious than before, tempted to just grab the hammer and bonk some answers out of the masses. His hand had already taken hold of the hammer but all that happened was for his only weapon to suddenly shrink and go back into the small dotted earring it was before. “H-hey—” Pinocchio made a pathetic noise, staring at where he felt his companion had retreated back to. He was ignored, as per the usual.
There was no time for him to ask any more questions, the ’Headmage‘ as Riddle had called this strange bird man as, quickly grabbed Pinocchio by the wrist and yanked Grim from his arms. He trips as he’s pushed towards the grand-looking mirror floating on the short platform in the middle of the room, an eerie green glow surrounding the intricate frame.
“Now, stand before the Dark Mirror and be sorted into one of the dorms,” The Headmage decrees, Pinocchio immediately doing as told.
Like the obedient puppet that he is, Pinocchio stands before the Dark Mirror, watching a strange mist swirl behind the mirror, flowing like water until a mask appears from beyond the abyss. “… State your name.” It simply says.
“P-Pinocchio!”
The mirror pauses, its ‘eyes’ fixed on Pinocchio. Studying. Analyzing.
Its slow deliberation of the poor puppet went on for too long a time, as if the Mirror had difficulties sifting through how ever many dorms exists, making the audience antsy with anticipation. “Come on, we don‘t got all day!” The Headmage screeched, standing behind Pinocchio, causing him to jump out of the way as The Headmage shakes the mirror for faster answers.
Once the Mirror had been thoroughly shook (as per how the Headmage gauges it), Pinocchio takes his place and…
“The shape of your soul…,” The Mirror begins to speak, taking another long pause that sent the entire room groaning from the wait. “… is…”
Another long pause.
“Huhhh, I’ve never seen the mirror struggle for this long,” one of the students spoke up, the leader of the group. He pulls down his hood, revealing his striking red eyes and the brightest smile Pinocchio had ever come across. It‘s almost blinding, to say the least.
“The Dark Mirror must be struggling with its internal connection,” a voice speaks out from the strange floating device amongst the leading students, blinking with each spoken word. “Crowley probably broke it’s connection with all that shaking.”
“Ohhhh! Maybe if we shake the Dark Mirror, it‘ll fix that problem in no time!” The red-eyed bandana wearing boy cheered, arms crossed as if solving the most complicated problem.
“If it were that simple without risk of breaking such an ancient artifact,” a beautiful man with blonde hair spoke up, his face exasperated from the other boy’s suggested fix.
“… Pomefiore.” The Mirror finally decided, a massive wave of eyes dart towards Pinocchio‘s quivering form. “From henceforth, Pinocchio will be part of Pomefiore.”

No hate to the person critiquing the wuwa designs as I understand where they are coming from. But I will say calling you white knighting wuwa seems like TO ME that they didn't like how you gave them you counterargument about how the characters have a story to tell them. And that you need details to tell a person story.
To me designs don't have to be overdetailed to tell a story it can be something simple. I'll take the person who used the KH and Nier Automata example (just a heads up this is morr about KH. Im not familiarwith Nier)
KH hearts designs are simple but tell you what you need to know. First glance at Sora we know he a kid who has a big heart with warm a bright color tones with a a simple and clean (lol song joke) keyblade design. When we look at the standard Heartless they dark with piercing yellow eyes with a big head. This tells me there is wrong and evil about them. Hell even the main villains all wear long black robes with a zipper but it tells me they are a mysterious organization.
Same thing with Final Fantasy 7. Tifa has has the most recognizable design in the game yet her design is not overly detailed. She just wearing a black and white crop top with suspenders and skirt that can one can recreate. Yet her most notable thing she wears is her red and black gauntlets. This tells me she is a fighter who perfers up close and personal. Sephiroth can always be seen wearing his iconic black leather boob window outfit with his pauldron. We see him wielding a sword and that tell me he knows how to wield it. As well as seeing him smiling or having a serious face telling me that he scheming and is someone to be taken seriously.
These designs can tell me their story and doesn't overly rely on every small thing or scream out "hey this is very super important character that sticks out like a sore thumb in this scene so you know they are very super important"
Agreed, again, I think I mentioned something like this before? It's all about the art style they are going for, and acting like one is better just because it has more visible detail is kind of, hm, missing the point.
There's nothing wrong with enjoying more detailed clothing and designs, at all. But to say other designs are bad because of it's lack of complexity just isn't right.
Also, since you didn't mention anything about NieR, I might as well talk about it. I really like the clothing in NieR Automata, it's usually only two to three colors that make the outfit, with the main character's being only black and white, with some small golden accents on 9S.
NieR, and well, Drakengard too, have designs that are pretty simple, and then give them more accessories if it fits with the character, and even then, I'm kind of in the fence for that, since the changes aren't that big.
I guess the most complex characters would be some of the Intoners from Drakengard 3? And probably most of the cast from NieR Replicant/Gestalt. I could honestly see the Intoners and their Disciples being gacha characters, specially Dito (Drakengard 3) who looks likes a stereotypical young gacha character, or Cent, every other disciple doesn't really fit with the beauty standards of gacha, unless it's one of those DnD like AFK games.
Actually, they were, weren't they? In the SINoALICE collab with NieR, and Drakengard 3. And a bunch of other games have collaborated with them too, including Punishing Gray Raven. Drakengard never got anything but SINoALICE, which is sad...
#went off on a tangent lmao#but i agree with anon#they do say less is more#long post#ask#if you couldn't tell. i don't actually like nier that much since i never played it#i'm a drakengard fan first and foremost. :9#still think arlecchino's design slaps tho. as well as some others#it's that gothic vibe. i feel

Once upon a time there was a library. No, there were many, many libraries, as many libraries as there were thoughts in the world, and then more. In each of the many, many libraries, fairy-tale characters were born. "Do you wish to meet your author?" the dolls asked. "I do," the characters replied. "In that case, you will have to defeat everyone else. When you are the only character left, your wish will be granted."
And so the fairy-tale characters killed, and they killed, and they killed, and they killed, and they killed, killed, killed, killed, killed, killed, killed, killed, killed, killed, killed, killed, killed, killed, killedkilledkilledkilledkilledkilledkilledkilledkilledkilledkilledkilledKILLEDKILLEDKILLEDKILLEDKILLEDKILLEDKILLEDKILLEDKILLEDKILLEDKILLEDKILLEDKILLEDKILLEDKILLEDKILLEDKILLED until there was no one left.
independent sinoalice-based multimuse, mun is stardust (28, they/she/he, sweden). muse list is whoever i feel like, but mostly red riding hood and little mermaid probably? you can mainly find me on toestalucia and flovverworks. sinoalice has yoko taro involved, if u know what to expect. sino is 'how do we make it edgier', 'i am choosing violence' and 'then everyone died' the story. source material has a lot of content warnings (global is eos'ing in november tho🎉), but i will mostly be touching onto the violence and death cuz uhhhh i dont rly have an interest in talking about the rest here. i don't wanna see things that falls under proshipping, that should explain the gist of it. mutuals only. icon-less. low-activity, i'll mostly be here to fool around.
there's multiple versions of each character in the library, and there are multiple libaries, as well as them having reality versions etcetc this and that. reality mermy and library mermy are the same but they're also not. reality versions do have canon names but i will keep referring to them as their library name cuz...easy. + i like the concept of them introducing themselves but all you can really hear/see is (fairytale character name).

hey there. i'm another anonymous author on ao3 who's doing the same thing you are, sort of, in the sense that i posted a fic about the milkman under the anon label to keep it separate from other things. i do that for a lot of fics actually, but i digress. (i swear i use proper capitalization in them, lol.)
i just wanted to pop in here and just tell you how enthralling your writing is. like, seriously. it's kind of ridiculous how much i enjoy your prose—it reminds me of how i feel whenever i crack open the hannibal fandom tag. despite writing a fic in the category, i don't even simp for the milkman, and yet i tore through all of your fics in the collection in a matter of hours.
i dunno. i just felt like you deserved to know that you're doing really, really well, and you've gotten me invested in a series about a character and doppel and reader that generally speaking, i treat more as a facilitator for crazy introspective angst in my own work. your doppel POV and francis POV fics were so good that, despite not checking the series on the first, i legitimately recognized the style blind. then bookmarked the whole thing. i love how literally nobody in the series is 'normal'. i love how you write the insert character as attentive, focused, but human. i love how you write francis' apathy as a person who had no choice but to get used to seeing faces in a stagnant yet revolving door. i love how you write the doppelgänger, and the irrationality of a creature that only knows love as hunger.
you're killing it, is what i'm getting at. i hope you keep chugging along, my friend. this is what the medium is made for.
I am at a loss for words for your words which I wish to put up in a frame and smile at it forever. I don't know what to say other than thank you. Thank you for reading and enjoying it. Thank you for sharing what you thought of it.
I have never written for Hannibal. I know he's a cannibal and that's it. My previous fic experience from hyperfixations is DHMIS and Lies of P. I don't know if that says something about me. I also have a SinoAlice fic and Poppy Playtime fic on anon with separate tumblr accounts haha.
What are we doing here anon. Two weeks ago I knew nothing of That's Not My Neighbor. It has been 12 days and I've written like 20k words (17k if i cut out the verbatim repetition from povs). I honestly thought I'd make Perfect and never look at again. But then. Everyone was so nice and the brainrot increased. Where are we anon. (We are simps I think, for the setting and possibilities and potential if nothing else. )
Also YOUR SPELLING BETRAYS THEE
I know not this anon's preferred title but BEHOLD! The only fic that could match the description, the only anonymous fic I know that uses the characters as a vehicle for introspection and which spells doppelgänger with the screaming a with dots over it!!! Read it if you haven't it's so good and also leaves me speechless. The grief!!! The feels!!! It has a softer doppelganger that I also quite enjoy and so many little sad moments. I beg of whoever stumbles upon my blog to read it!!! Also to mind the tags because HOO BOY they are Tags.
This too, is a shining, wonderful piece of fanfiction. May it prosper through the ravenous attention of simps and nonsimps alike.

Point 3 is something I've thought very long about when it comes to the stories I really enjoy. I don't necessarily know if stories will never reach a proper conclusion, but I do think that what often ends up happening is very symptomatic of episodic writing. This is I think spurred on by the games as a service model, but its found in other mediums constantly. Think about a lot of TV shows that run for a long time or were expected to run for longer than they did and yeah its the same thing.
If you're writing that is both episodic and does not clear end point because you don't know how long the game or TV show or serialized webfiction or etc is gonna go on, you have to constantly assess where conclusion points fit and when you're going to have to change the status quo. This for example is why a series premier will sometimes just shit on the conclusions of a series finale, because it needs to create a change up to justify itself.
There's more problems with a episodic format than just that the story might go on forever. You can run into repetition, you can run into dropping story lines either on purpose or by accident, you might have to plant seeds for something way in advance of when you're actually going to do it, because you might not know if you have the time do it later. Installments taking too long in between each other can cause bitterness, especially if those installments are less good or more mediocre.
I don't know if enough writers go into this thinking about that. For a lot of games, the story deliberately takes a backseat. Especially for gacha games, have you seen the kind of people who play them? Investing that heavily into a story for a demographic that has repeatedly shown to not appreciate it is hard. This is why I stick with so few of these games now and why for example, I dropped SinoAlice like a fucking rock.
At least for a TV show or a book series that takes forever or a manga, you don't have anything else to grapple with. People are going to have to engage with the story and so you're incentivized to address these issues in some way. Video games though...they really struggle with that.
my biggest beef with story in gacha games is that it's continuously frustrating for me to try to follow a story in a gacha game for three reasons
break of gameplay flow (not that bad imo but contributes)
limited time events (which makes point 1. even more frustrating because you gotta farm the event but if you're a slow reader or have no free time... sucks)
because of the endless nature of the "game as a service" the story will never reach a proper conclusion. and i firmly believe a story can't just go on forever.
it has some pros though, but the cons make it hard for me to enjoy them

Let’s be real here;
if,
in a 10-draw with SIX SR+ cards,
I did not get at least one new job,
SINoALICE and I would be undergoing counseling for some serious trust issues.
#sinoalice#sinoalice: snow white#gacha results#gacha problems#weapons gacha#weapons gacha problems#can you imagine#especially because i got three of the exact same spinny chakram thing#but i've already maxed it out so it's useless#at least i got my first snow white job out of this#to be fair i would've still pulled this for a final 100 yokubou medal#so now i have exactly 1500 and can trade for something of my choice#except i can't choose#why do i do this to myself

SINoALICE JP NEWS: NEW ARC, JUNE 2022 Very rushed translation sorry The Three Little Piggies' resurrection of their author who collected a tremendous amount of life force is prevented by Alice. With the life force collected, Library, which was once destroyed is rebuilt. Alice, with light steps, takes off in the new library, which was different from the Libraries before the Colosseum. After a long and painful journey, Alice awakens to her creator. At the same time, the others are also met with theirs. Except, one thing. The authors were only partially resurrected. And so, with the characters, a new story unfolds....
