i decided to unite my love for maps and for OT and make a map of the distribution of OT contestants from OT 2017 - 2023 in regards to their residence* because i find it so fascinating, like yeah it does kinda follow where major urban centers concentrate but also why is there so little people in valència? so many in iruña specifically? how is that outside madrid the only other OT contestant from castile is from guadalajara from all places???

*I followed the locations from the wikipedia page; in OT it's necessary to reside in spain but you don't need to have the spanish nationality to participate so i'll add the nationalities when needed!

La 1 estrenará ‘OT 2020′ el próximo domingo 12 de enero

La 1 estrenará Operación Triunfo 2020 el próximo domingo 12 de enero, tal y como ha adelantado esta mañana la cuenta oficial de Twitter del programa. El talent show musical recibirá en breve a 30 nuevos aspirantes, de los que 16 sólo entrarán finalmente en la Academia, una mezcla de centro de alto rendimiento e internado.

Por una parte, recibirán clase de disciplinas musicales, baile, expresión corporal… con profesores de reconocido nivel; por otra, vivirán aislados del mundo exterior y eso no solo incluye el contacto con sus familias sino de algo sin lo que ahora no se imaginan: su propio teléfono móvil, las redes sociales, internet… No vivirán con lujos, pero tendrán sus necesidades más que cubiertas y una alimentación equilibrada.

Más de 10.000 personas se han presentado este año a los castings que en cinco semanas ha recorrido Barcelona, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Valencia, Palma de Mallorca, Málaga, Sevilla, Bilbao, y Santiago de Compostela.
