Sometimes I listen to canon Gabriel quotes to imagine it as Centiclipse and this one reminded me of a silly dynamic between him and Lunara I've rotated for a while but never rlly posted about. so here's a silly video abt it LMAO

Books of 2025: BLACKFISH CITY by Sam J. Miller.

Finished this last night! The jacket copy starts, "When a strange new visitor arrives in a floating city in the Arctic--humanity's last hope after the ravage of climate change--the city is entranced. She's riding an orca and has a polar bear at her beck and call," and, honestly, I'm sold (love a good floating city!).

I adored the setting and the worldbuilding--supremely cool city that was thoughtfully developed--and I loved how the narrative came together at the end. All the POV characters felt distinct (thank heck, because there were Many of them), and I had a fun time figuring out how to piece all the relationships together and percolating on The Science. Overall had a great time!

Do you think the reason Sam took to Darlin so adamantly is because he couldn't save himself after a bad relationship with a vampire and when he saw Darlin in that same situation he subconsciously jumped on the opportunity to fix his past mistakes by proxy?

Tldr: Sam used Darlin's situation to perpetuate his own savior complex after Alexis

Gross, I thought I was past SPN's stranglehold. ALAS, I AM NOT! As seen elsewhere in the tumblr'verse, apparently soulless "lying creep" Sam is just an extension of his actual character (affectionate).

Soulless Sam said with his whole, considerable chest: "And thus I clothe my naked villany With odd old ends stol'n out of holy writ, And seem a saint, when most I play the devil." I'm sure there's meta out there somewhere ... Sam paralleled with Richard III. Royalty (The Boyking) who is actually, in truth, manipulative and villainous to the core. (Which, hey, isn't most royalty?) I'm having SPN war flashbacks to when the show was on air and being a Sam!girlie was truly playing fandom life on hard mode. We couldn't catch a break, between shippers, stans, and the show itself. It kinda sucked. (Many of my Samward-leaning fandom buds dropped the show at S8. Gee, I wonder why.) I should be given a goddamned medal for staying in it. I DEMAND ASS PATS. Jump ahead to now. Past is prologue. Seems there are some Sammies who've swung back hard in the other direction, to protect Sammy at all cost? Poor little persecuted, abused lamb. Everybody's long-suffering punching bag, bodily autonomy be damned. And then, I'm reminded in copious detail, that nope, he's not. He's a grown-ass fictional adult, fully capable of defending himself ... if he really wanted to. He's, in turn, unappreciative but jealous, and often casually cruel when he's not using the "puppydog eyes" to assert his will. Sam is both abused and abuser, as a son of John Winchester, just not in the same ways as Dean. Sam had it so much easier, with the passive neglect. He was sheltered, given as close to a normal childhood as a motherless, lonely child could have. And this apparently made him smart but self-absorbed. How am I doing? Good? Okie-dokey, glad we sorted that out! I had a little bit of a ridiculous SPN fandom epiphany in this, the year of our lord Chappell Roan, 2025. Why am I trying to protect the virtue of my blorbo Sam Winchester? Or give two brown, hot, steaming shits what other fans think of Sam fans? After all this time, whyyyyy? Nope. We done. To get all fancy and wrap it back around to Richard III: "...therefore, since I cannot prove a lover,  To entertain these fair well-spoken days,  I am determined to prove a villain And hate the idle pleasures of these days." there's a MOUSE in my ROOM now obviously mice will happen but I'm way more of it about it here than I was in my last flat which was a 250 year old tenement building like OBVIOUSLY there were going to be mice THERE. Speaking of replaying things...got it in my head recently about maybe playing Death Stranding for a second time. Played it through once a few years ago and didn't think I'd want to do it over again.

So last night I thought I'd watch some of a YT playthrough, see how I felt about it. And after about and hour or so, I stg I've oscillated back and forth between...

Oh hell yeah! I can remember there was a lot here I really liked that was enough for me to finish the whole thing the first time; and

Bluhhhhhhhhhhhhh I also remember why I haven't wanted to play it again until apparently now lol

Sams and laes headcannons!!

These first two are sad but sweet.

1. Jack has told Dazzle all about what he knew of Solar, and he sometimes draws things he’d seen Solar making or using, telling Dazzle when they asked what it was “something that reminds me of dad.” (🥺)

2. When Sun feels too lonely in the empty house, and no one can come over, he’ll curl up in one of Moon’s blankets to feel like he isn’t alone.

3. Earth has an entire bin collection of Barbies that she plays with when nothing else is going on. Sometimes Monty joins her too.

4. Taurus hates the color red. (You should know why I said that)

5. Lunar will get bored and throw things as high as he can (weather by using wind or just yeeting them). And yes that spelling mistake was intentional >:>

6. The computer tries to give Moon something to do by playing word games with him and giving him puzzles and riddles to solve, but Moon rarely ever actually participates in them.

7. Jack and Dazzle love to play around outside and in the jungle gyms. (IS that what those sets in the daycare count as?)
