Bike
Magdalena Eriksson x Child!Reader
Part of The Big Adventures Universe
Summary: Your first riding lesson with Magda
After that day on the ice with Sam and the others, Magda decides that if anyone is going to teach you to ride a bike, it's going to be her.
The first thing she does is make sure the stabilisers are attached properly, sitting down in the middle of the park with a screwdriver to make sure they're secure.
Then, she tightens your elbow and knee pads.
Next, she makes sure your helmet fits you properly.
Then and only then, are you allowed on your bike.
"I know how to ride, Morsa," You tell her as she shows you where the peddles are," Sam and Erin and Guro and Millie taught me."
Magda scoffs. "They didn't teach you. They took advantage of a hill. Riding a bike is all about power in your legs."
You rolls your eyes. "This is boring."
"I'm trying to teach you here!"
You move your handlebars, a disgruntled look on your face as Magda waffles on about random things that you don't really care about.
It's quite early in the morning, on a random day off where you'd rather crawl into the Big Bed and have cuddles with Momma. You think Momma must miss your cuddles because she was still asleep when Morsa got you up and out of the house.
It wasn't a long walk to the park but Morsa didn't say anything until you got there.
"Can I got yet?"
Magda sighs, breaking off mid sentence. "Yeah, alright. Let me give you a little push."
She holds the back of your bike, lightly pushing you so you can start pedalling.
You've got a lot of power in your little legs, despite having only been out on your bike once before and Magda still holds it, if only to give herself some peace of mind.
"Morsa! I'm doing it!"
"Yes, you are!"
Magda doesn't really want to let go but she can remember being a bit older than you, at her own local park in Sweden. Her father had taught her to ride.
It was an old bike, bought second-hand at a car boot sale. The chain was half broken and the pedals stuck a bit but Magda had loved that bike.
Her father had taught her, standing behind her and giving a little push. He held her bike for a bit before finally letting her go.
At the time, the lack of stabilisers hadn't bothered Magda. It had made her feel grown up but, now, as a parent herself, she can't imagine your bike not having stabilisers.
She also can't believe that her father had ever let her go.
Especially now as she rocks your body as you sob.
The first little crash had been expected, your front wheel getting caught on a bump in the road. Magda had managed to grab you by the back of the shirt before you went head over handlebars.
If anything, you thought that crash was a little funny, consumed by a round of giggles as Magda tried to calm her beating heart.
The second crash was bigger, where you'd gotten too much speed and you went through that same pit in the path and gone skittering across the path.
It was a mistake, in hindsight, to let you go out riding in your Sweden shorts because the impact of your slide has horrifically grazed your leg like some horrific version of road rash.
"Morsa, my leg!" You sob and Magda adjusts you.
There's no chance of you walking right now so Magda switches you onto her back, letting you link your hands together around her neck. Magda wheels your bike back home.
"It's okay," She says," It's alright. We're nearly home. We'll clean it off and get you some plasters."
"My bike's mean," You tell her," Don't let go next time, Morsa."
"You still want to practice?"
"Yes, Morsa," You say and Magda can imagine the eye roll going on behind her back," Because I have to learn at some point and Momma will get annoyed with having me on the back of hers forever."
Whenever you, Magda and Pernille go out for a bike ride, you get put into a little seat that's attached to the end of Pernille's. It's fun but what you really want is to be on your own bike next to them.
You sniffle though, a flare of pain going down your leg as Morsa moves.
Magda places you on the sofa as soon as you get home, grabbing the first aid kit so she can clean off your graze.
"We will wait though, right?" You ask, wincing as Magda wipes off all the dirt," Until I'm better?"
"Of course," Magda says," I think we should stay at home for a bit and we can remember where the brakes are."
You purse your lips. "I know where the brakes are, Morsa."
Magda smiles at you. "Do you? Because you really should learn to use them."
You stick your tongue out at her. "I'm telling Momma you're teasing me again!"

Not so Awkward
Dean Winchester x Reader
Follow up to Awkward Dreams
Smut with feelings?
Your fingernails dug into Dean's back as he rolled his hips into your, enjoying the sounds he managed to pull from you. âLook at you sweetheart. You're so damn beautiful like this, all fucked out and taking me so damn well"
He brought one hand up to your neck, barely putting pressure but he wanted your eyes open âLook at me gorgeousâ your eyes flew open and he smiled âThere's my girlâ before leaning down to capture your lips in a hungry kiss. When he broke away you gasped âFuck I love you Deanâ
âDEAN!â He jolted awake and realized he'd fallen asleep at the table. His now cold cup of coffee was still in front of him. You stood at the doorway with your arms crossed and a smirk on your face âYou need a nap before we hit the road?âÂ
â------------------
You didn't know what was up with Dean. Months had passed since he even attempted to get a woman's attention at any of the bars the three of you had stopped in and now he was falling asleep at random places in the bunker. Was he having nightmares again?
He wouldn't talk about something like that freely and it hurt your heart to think of him suffering alone. You loved both Winchesters, in their own way of course but Dean had a piece of your heart. If you were being honest with yourself you probably were in love with him but could never admit that for fear of losing him.
He shook his head at your question then glanced behind you âWhere's Sammy?â You grimaced slightly âHe's not going. I think he may have caught the flu. He's running a low fever so I went on an early supply run. He's set up with meds, there's soup and Gatorade. Just me and you on this one cowboyâÂ
You didn't miss the weird look that crossed his face before he schooled his expression and said âWell gotta admit you are better to look atâ you rolled your eyes and motioned to the hall âI'm grabbing my go bag. Meet ya at baby?â He nodded âYeah. Meet ya at babyâ
Dean was trying like hell to concentrate on the road but the dreams of you and him kept resurfacing. What was going on in his head? Yeah he'd admitted to himself some time ago that he was developing feelings for you but it was clear the only thing you felt for him was friends, same as Sam. The fact that he was having sex dreams about you and dreaming that you felt the same about him had nothing to do with anything.
He was fairly certain you'd fallen asleep until you turned in the seat to face him and smiled when he glanced your way. âDean, you ok?â You asked and he felt his heart flip at the concern in your voice âYeah I'm good. Just been having weird dreamsâ âNightmares?â You asked so he shook his head âNot nightmares just weirdâ
You nodded then glanced down at your phone âWe should be there in about thirty. I'm thinking motel first then medical examiner?â He nodded âSounds good to meâ
Dean watched you walk into the lobby of the hotel from where he stood at the impala. From the sounds of it this was a ghoul case. Hopefully it would be a fairly small pack so it would go by quickly. He wanted to get back home to the bunker and not be in close quarters with you where he may let something slip he didn't mean to.
A few minutes later you walked out and gave him a tight smile âGood news or bad news first?â He shrugged âBad news?â You held up one key âThere was only one room leftâ he groaned inwardly but nodded âGood news?â You grinned "It's got two queen size beds!âÂ
At least there were two beds. If it was king you and him had shared beds enough you'd know something was wrong if he refused. âWell let's get on itâÂ
â-----------------
You could feel Dean's eyes on your back as you walked into the medical examiners office. He'd been acting a little off still but you'd never known lack of sleep or weird dreams as he'd put it to throw either Winchester off their game so you weren't too worried about the case.Â
His hand brushed your lower back when he stepped in behind you so you shot a smile at him over your shoulder about the time the examiner noticed the two of you. âCan I help you?â You flashed your badge and Dean did the same âAgents Castle and Page. We're here about the grave desecrationsâ
Your back slamming into the side of the mausoleum knocked the breath out of you. Dean ran towards you, skidding to his knees next to you âYou good?â You nodded and took his offered hand to get back to your feet âThat bitch that tossed me?â He nodded and you smirked âShe's mineâ
â------------
Dean watched you snatch your shotgun off the ground and couldn't help the smirk that slipped onto his own face. Even dirty, bloody and cussing a ghoul you were fuckin gorgeous. He shook his head to clear those thoughts before facing the ghouls that were chomping on his ass.
You walked into the hotel room and wanted to just fall across the bed and go to sleep but knew you had to shower. Dean shut the door and you cut your eyes over at him to see the slice across his cheek was still bleeding. ïżœïżœïżœI need to clean your face and put something on thatâ you said and he half smiled âIf you let me check your back to make sure you're okâÂ
You rolled your eyes but smiled âSure. Sit down at the tableâ he did as you asked and walked over to the table while you grabbed the first aid kit out of your bag then walked over to him.Â
You sat the kit down then stepped between his legs to get a good look at the cut. You touched the skin around it but he barely flinched, keeping his eyes on yours. âWhy are you staring at me Dean?â You asked while you wet a gauze with wound cleaner.
He cleared his throat and shrugged âThose first aid classes shine through when you're patching us up. You're so focused, I just like watching youâ you felt your cheeks threaten to warm at his words. Instead of saying anything you just reached into the kit for the liquid skin. âWhile the sting won't bother you, this crap is cold as hellâÂ
He grinned âIf I say it hurts will you hold my hand?â His teasing made the worries you'd had about him lighten a bit. That was how he usually was with you, playfully flirting even if you knew he didn't mean it. You stepped closer before saying âYou can squeeze my hip if it hurtsâ he raised his eyebrows and placed a hand tentatively on your hip âI'll take what I can getâ
You shook your head but finished cleaning his cheek and blew on the cut gently to get the liquid skin to go ahead and dry. Once it was you stepped back and nodded âYou're good Winchesterâ he motioned with his finger âTurn around then and let me check youâ
You nodded because you had agreed. Without thinking you slipped your shirt over your head leaving you in just a sports bra. You'd seen him and Sam both in less and from injuries and they'd seen you in less as well so it wasn't anything new. You tossed your shirt on the floor next to your duffle and turned with your back to Dean.Â
â-----------------
The way you focused on him when you were cleaning his cut to how close you were standing and letting him grip your hip had Dean's head spinning bad enough but when you slipped your shirt off and tossed it his mind immediately flew to every dream he'd had.Â
He swallowed hard once you turned your back to him then stood. When his fingers first touched your back he noticed the trail of goosebumps that popped up but he told himself his hands were just cold and that was the reaction. You had some bruising already across your back but nothing seemed to be broken and you hadn't even flinched when he dug his fingers in a little to check your ribs. After a moment he tapped your shoulder âYou're good sweetheartâ you smiled back at him âGood. I'm gonna go shower first since I'm already halfway nakedâ Â
Images of you straddling him in the impala flashed through his head and he cleared his throat again âSounds good. I'll go after youâ
â-----------------
Your skin still felt like it was on fire from Dean's touch. Christ you may need a cold shower just to keep your hormones in check. It wasn't fair the effect that man had on your body and heart without even realizing it.
You weren't sure what woke you up at first. You sat up slowly, rubbing a hand over your face. You started to reach for the gun on the nightstand but realized quickly the noise that had woke you up was Dean.Â
You glanced over at his bed and saw his hands were gripping the sheets and from the looks of it a thin layer of sweat was covering his face and chest. You tossed the blanket off your legs and started to climb out of the bed to wake him but froze when you heard him say your name. Was he dreaming about you?Â
You quietly walked closer to the bed and he spoke your name again, wait no he moaned your name. The noise made a rush of heat go straight through you. Was Dean having a sex dream about you?
You were torn between waking him or going back to bed. If he was in fact dreaming about you wouldn't it be weird to wake him up and acknowledge it like that?Â
Before you could make up your mind he jolted up, eyes wild and chest heaving. âDean?â You asked quietly and once his eyes focused on you he looked down towards where the blanket had pooled around his waist and you felt your face warm when your eyes followed his and realized he was hard.Â
He readjusted the blanket quickly then cleared his throat âSomething wrong?â You shook your head âNo, you were um dreaming and I guess it woke me upâÂ
You'd never seen Dean blush in all the years you'd known him but in that moment he did. He didn't meet your eyes when he asked âDid you hear anything?â You started to lie, you really did but something in you pushed the truth out of your lips âI heard you say my name?â
â--------------------------
Now would be a good time for the apocalypse to kick back up in Dean's opinion. He'd rather face Lucifer a few times over than admit to you what his dream had contained.Â
He slowly raised his eyes up skimming over your bare legs, the sleep shorts you wore to bed then the t-shirt you were wearing. It was tight over your chest to the point your breasts looked like they would burst out at the slightest movement. Your hair was tousled from sleep, your face was slightly flushed and he wanted nothing more than to show you just what he'd been dreaming about.
âI'm sorry sweetheart. I didn't mean to wake youâ he'd hoped you'd take it at that and go back to sleep or did he?
You stepped closer to him and when you raised your hand he watched you curiously until you slid your fingers into his hair, nails lightly grazing the scalp underneath. It took every ounce of strength he had to not completely crumple under your touch. It was so damn gentle.Â
âWhat's going on with you Dean?â You asked in all but a whisper as you let your hand slip from his hair before bringing it down to gently cup his chin, forcing his eyes up to meet yours. He wasn't used to this, you always seemed to take charge of things.Anytime anything was wrong with him or Sam you were the caretaker but this was different. This was intimate and made his heart flip having your full attention on him.
âPlease tell me Deanâ you begged and he closed his eyes and swallowed hard âI was dreaming about you. I've been dreaming about youâ when he opened his eyes he wasn't sure what to expect to see in yours. Anger? Embarrassment? Instead your face had flushed even more and a smile had slipped onto your face âWhat happened in the dreams?â
â-----------------------------------
You weren't sure where this rush of confidence was coming from. Maybe it was the way he was looking at you or how he leaned into your touch or hearing him moan your name but you weren't letting him brush this off. He'd been acting off and barely sleeping if you were the cause of that you wanted to know.Â
That damn smirk that always made your stomach churn slipped onto his face âa lotâ âOh yeah?â You asked before moving your hand away from his face âLike what?âÂ
â--------------
Dean wasn't sure how far of a line to cross but you were standing so damn close to him and his latest dream was still buzzing around his head. He wondered if you'd taste the way he dreamt, feel the way he dreamt. âI care about you a lot sweetheart, you know thatâÂ
You nodded at his words but instead of moving you moved to sit on the bed within inches of his reach âI know but that still doesn't tell me anything about these dreamsâÂ
He looked from your face down to his hands then back to your face. When had he ever been this shy around the subject of sex? Was it how much he cared about you? How long he'd known you? The fact that if he told you how he truly felt and what he'd been dreaming and you didn't feel the same he could lose you?
At his silence you moved closer and reached out to grab one of his hands âTalk to me Winchesterâ you teased and he groaned lightly. Fuck, the effect you had on him without realizing.
He had two options here, he could brush this off or take a chance of you actually feeling something for him. At the very least he knew if he could just get you in bed with him once he'd do everything in his power to make sure you'd want no other man.
---------------
You were starting to think maybe you'd imagined everything. The way Dean had been watching you since you left the bunker all the way to him moaning your name until he muttered âPlease don't fucking punch meâ before you could ask he dropped your hand then grabbed you by the hips pulling you towards him where you had no option but to straddle his waist, the blanket had fallen away somewhere and you could feel the strain of his hardened cock through the sweat pants he'd worn to bed.
You braced your hands on his shoulders, a gasp leaving you from a mixture of the sudden movement along with the feeling of him underneath you âYou're everywhere in these damn dreams. Your scent, your taste, your touch, your voice. It's been driving me insane being so close to you and not being able to touch you. I love you, I know it's probably insane but I do. You don't have to feel the same but if you'd give me just this one night I know I can make you feel better than any other man ever hasâÂ
â------------
You were silent and Dean was kicking himself. He'd ruined it, he'd lost even your friendship or so he thought until a smile slipped onto your face and you shifted your hips against his causing a groan to escape him. âWho says I don't love you Dean?â His eyes flew to yours and for a moment he wondered if he was still asleep. Had he dreamed all of this? As if you could read his thoughts you leaned forward and stopped with your lips just shy of touching his âIt's real Dean. You're awake, I really do love youâ
âYeah?â He asked and you laughed lightly âYeahâ he closed the space between the two of you to catch your lips in a hungry kiss. Your hands gripped his shoulders tightly sliding up to his neck then finally burying in the hair at the base of his head.Â
When you broke away from each other, chests heaving he searched your face for any uncertainty. When he found none he nodded towards your shirt and you leaned back just far enough to pull the material over your head and toss it back in the room.Â
He caught your lips again, one hand coming up to catch your left nipple between his fingertips. You arched your back into him, a heavenly moan slipping from your lips. He broke away from your lips to kiss down your neck biting lightly at a few places noting to himself that he'd dreamt of the correct places to kiss you but damn this was better than any dream.Â
When his mouth finally found your chest, using his tongue to roll one of your nipples into his mouth, teeth lightly grazing the sensitive bud you gripped his hair tightly moaning his name. Your hips rolled against his and fuck he could feel the heat coming off of you.
He pulled away from your breasts and smiled up at you âYou sure about this? Sure about me?â You took a few breaths then grinned âI swear on everything Dean if you don't put your mouth somewhere on my body I may just fucking combustâÂ
â--------------
âWouldn't want that would be babyâ he teased before flipping the two of you over so he was on top of you. His mouth found yours again and you felt one of his hands teasing the waistband of your shorts. Your legs fell apart to grant him access and he smiled into the kiss as his hand dipped into your shorts.Â
His fingers teased your pussy, barely grazing it the first time but on the second swipe he ran his fingertips across your clit and you shivered under him. He slipped one finger into you, groaning âYou're so fucking wet alreadyâ you tried to say something back but he added a second finger curling them both up until he hit that spot that had your back arching off the bed and praises of his name falling from your lips.
â------------
He worked you through the first orgasm, whispering into your ear about how sexy you looked coming around his fingers. When you finally came down from that high he held your gaze as he slipped his fingers into his mouth, licking them clean. âFuck you taste good babyâÂ
He left a bruising kiss on your lips before adjusting his body where he could leave a trail of kisses down yours. When he got to your shorts he raised his eyebrows and you narrowed your eyes âDon't fucking stop there!âÂ
A laugh was the response you got before he was slipping your shorts off your legs. He didn't give you a moment to relax because he lowered his head to you and when the first lick made your legs quiver he chuckled lightly âBetter than any damn dreamâÂ
He added two fingers in with his tongue, working that spot inside of you and your clit at the same time. It didn't take long before you were shaking under him and all but screaming his name as you came undone again underneath him.
After a moment you weakly shoved his shoulders âToo much baby. Too muchâ he rocked back from you and grinned as he swiped a thumb across his lips âDid you just call me baby? I like thatâ
You grinned âWell in that case baby will get your damn pants off and fuck me already?â He laughed âYes ma'amâ and stood off the bed to shove his sweatpants off his hips, kicking them away from him.
Your eyes widened at just how big his cock was. He was fairly long and thick as hell. âLike what you see sweetheart?â You nodded and curled your fingers at him âCome hereâ he kissed his way back up your body and when he got to your mouth he crashed his lips against yours letting you taste yourself on him.Â
âI love youâ he whispered against your lips as you felt him slide into you. You gasped against his mouth at the feeling of him stretching you. He groaned lightly at the feeling once he was completely inside of you âFuck you feel amazingâ once the stretch faded to pleasure and you could speak you pulled him into a kiss then said âI love you too Dean now fuck me like you hate meâÂ
He laughed and shook his head âYou're so damn perfectâ he left another quick kiss on your lips before pulling almost all the way out then slamming back into you.
â--------------
Dean sat a punishing pace, snapping his hips into yours. The only sound filling the room was skin hitting skin and your moans mixing together. Your fingernails dug into his shoulders but neither of you cared as you clung to each other finally giving in. âDean I'm so damn closeâ you managed and he nodded before slipping one hand between you. When his fingers found your clit he spoke with his lips against yours âCome for me sweetheart. Let me feel youâ
You felt that building pressure threaten to burst right before you were shoved over that peak. Your vision went soft around the edges as he continued to fuck you through your orgasm.Â
Once you came down from that high you realized his thrusts were starting to falter, getting a bit sloppy and knew he was close. You buried your fingers into the hair at the base of his neck and whispered in his ear âLet me feel you Dean. Please come for me babyâ
He groaned, burying his face in your neck as his thrusts got harder and deeper. You hooked your legs around his waist, spreading them further to allow him a deeper angle and when you did the head of his cock hit that spot inside of you with every thrust.
âI love you Deanâ you moaned and that seemed to spur him on even further. He snapped his hips into yours at a pace that had you seeing stars. When he finally came, slamming into you with one final hard thrust it pushed you over the edge again and you tightened around him about the same time your nails dug into his shoulders to the point you were fairly certain you drew blood but he didn't seem to care.
He caught your lips in a kiss that was a lot gentler but still passionate before saying âI love you too sweetheartâ he pulled out gently then looked around and leaned over to grab his discarded shirt. He used it to clean you up the best he could then tossed it before collapsing next to you.
He pulled you over on his chest and you curled up with your head laying over on him. You looked up at him and gave a sleepy smile âThat was fucking amazingâ he grinned âTook the words right out of my mouthâ you leaned up and placed a gentle kiss on his lips before saying âI expect you to sleep now. No more weird dreamsâ he grinned âDon't think I gotta worry about it. Reality is so much betterâ
When Dean first woke up he almost worried that he'd dreamt everything but when he opened his eyes you were curled up on his chest fast asleep. You kissed the top of your head and you nuzzled into his chest then opened one eye and looked up at him. Both eyes slowly opened and smile slipped onto your face âOh thank God I didn't dream thatâÂ
He laughed and said âNope. You're stuck with me sweetheartâ you grinned âI can handle being stuck with youâ he pulled you over on top of him and you braced your hands on his chest, feeling his fingers trail down your bare back âI love you Deanâ âI love you tooâ he said before pulling you down flush against him and you felt his body react to you.Â
You pulled back to look up at him and he grinned âI've been dreaming about you for a whileâ you laughed lightly âThen we need to make up for lost time don't we?â and caught his lips in a searing kiss âTell me about these other dreams to see what we can make come true before we go homeâ

Next Part
Your hands shook as you applied some tinted lip balm, the tube almost slipping out of your hand because of the sweat forming.Â
It was the night of the schoolâs winter dance, and you were asked to go with a boy who was in your Spanish class. He sat in front of you and always asked to copy your homework, and youâd oblige because every single time heâd say âyouâre amazingâ and âwhat what I do without you?â And the occasional tease, âthese better be right, or i'm gonna have to ask someone else.âÂ
It felt too good to be true when he asked you to go with him to the dance, but he was just so nice to you when you saw him. In the end, it was too good to be true when you overheard his friends ask him why he chose you and not the girl he actually liked.Â
âSheâs been letting me copy her homework, I thought this could be like a âthank youâ.âÂ
âBut itâs fucking awkward, none of us know her, our dates donât either, and sheâs not really talking. She's just there.â Â
You did feel out of place the entire time. Apparently the girl he liked was friends with the other guys dates, they all ran in the same circle and you were the odd one out. While they had their inside jokes and well established friendships, you barely knew your own date. And he didnât really bother to include you. So you did end up just sitting and listening and wishing you could partake.Â
The second you found out his true reasoning to ask you out, the tears came and you wanted to go home. But how? Your dateâs mother was the one to drop everyone off. Your brother was out with his girlfriend, and you knew heâd be pissed if he had to leave and pick up his crying, little sister. And the last thing you wanted was to get bombarded with questions from your parents if you did go home so early.Â
You called the only person you could think of. You werenât sure what the plan was, but you just didnât want to be alone.Â
And just seeing him, someone who you feel safe in the presence of, you run into his arms and let the tears flow. It was hard to make out from your watery explanation, but he understood what happened and held you just a little tighter. Despite his anger, there was nothing he could do. They were still in middle school and Sam was a sophmore in high school, heâd look like the loser if he went inside and beat up a kid two years younger than him.Â
âOh, god.â You said as you wiped away your tears only to see the blackness from your mascara. You could only wonder how pathetic you look. This was supposed to be a special night, and it had barely begun before it turned into the worst night of your life so far.Â
âStop that, you still look pretty.â He wipes your cheeks with his long sleeve, trying to wipe away your mascara but really just dragging it around.Â
âThanks.â You whisper, not really believing it. Â
âNo, Iâm serious. You got that kind of Courtney Love-Hole look, yâlook cool.â He leaned back to get a better look at you and smiled. You loved when he smiled, when he was happy and sweet, especially towards you. And in the moonlight, he was even more handsome.
With it being winter and cold outside, Sam gave you his jacket and slung his arm around you as he began to walk you home. You thought you could die at that very moment and be the happiest girl in the world.Â
âSo what should I do to whats-his-stupid-fucking-face?â He knew wasnât going to do anything to the kid, but he wanted to lift your mood. You smiled and shook your head. Honestly, you wanted nothing to do with him but you played along.
âJust punch him real hard in the face, I want it to be swollen and ugly.âÂ
âYeah, yeah thatâs good. And letâs take his money, Iâll- no listen to me,â he interrupted himself at your snort and continued, âIâll kick the back of his knees, hold him down, then you take the five dollars out of his pocket, got it?âÂ
You giggled as you imagined it, kicking the back of his knees. You saw him do it to your brother after he slapped the sunburn on your shoulder and that was the most you had ever laughed. Youâll never forget your brotherâs shock and pointed finger to the smaller slap mark on his back, âshe did it to me first, look!â
âNah, she wouldnât do that.âÂ
âAnd weâll get hot chocolate with the money.â And he pointed to your favorite cafe and walked towards it.Â
âSam, wait, I donât have any money on me right now.â
âThatâs okay, itâs on me. Something good has to come out of tonight.â He dragged you to the building, and in there he bought you a hot chocolate with extra milk. Which was something you appreciated because you burned your tongue really bad drinking your hot chocolate a few weeks ago and he saw.Â
What followed was some talking about movies, music, and embarrassing stories(your favorite one being that he fell off his chair in class because he was leaning backwards). Then a trip to the park where you two spun on the merry-go-round until you couldnât see straight or stop laughing.Â
And when he finally took you home, he gave you a short peck to your head and wished you a good night. It was that moment you believed he liked you as well, and you dreamed of what it would be like to be boyfriend/girlfriend with him.

Closed for maintenance . Leah Williamson Ă reader
Reader embarks on a new journey with a new club. Part 1.
My day started out like any other in the past 4 weeks. The beeping sound of my alarm wakes me up, I dread the thought of getting up even though I still do, I get my shit together, I leave for training, come back a few hours later and go to bed early.
My days have been blending in ever since that heart shattering break up. However, today had a little twist to it. As I was leaving the gym to go to the physioroom I got called into the Manager's office. Upon getting in, the coach said âhey, so I called you here to let you know that we are going to transfer you. You have been an absolute killer for our team. You will always have a place between us. The thing is your dynamic with the team has been off which has been causing some tension. And the best thing I thought to do was to transfer you this January.â Shock couldn't describe the state I was in. Running on autopilot, I got out of the coach's office, got my things and departed home without talking to anybody, which has been my pattern this past month.
My head was in the clouds for the entire drive, and when I got home I threw myself on the coach and started sobbing. About 20 minutes later I called my best friend the only person I trusted more than anything.
âHey are you okay? The girls are worried about you, tell me what is going on pleaseâsaid kristie with a worried tone
âWell tell Sam and the team not to worry anymore. Emma has decided to ruin my life and get rid of me. I won't be at Chelsea anymore. I am basically fired.â I replied, now more angry than sad.
âWhat the hell are you talking about? Are you transferred where? when? How ? Are you okay? Did you tell her?.â She asked.
âI think it will be announced tomorrow at the meeting. I don't know anything kristie Chelsea is home. Niamh is home. I can't live without them.â I replied, memories of Niamh and I fludding my brain.
âSure you will. I love you bubs no matter where you go.â She said, âMe too buddy, me too.â I added, sadness creeping into my heart again.
â-------â---â------------------------------------
It has been an eventful week. It was announced that I would leave Chelsea for Arsenal. The topic has been the talk of the town. From newspapers, Instagram pages, fans on Twitter, Arsenal fans were excited to have me. However, Chelsea fans were bitter I was let go. Most of the mean comments were directed at Emma and Chelsea which I thought was fair. I was the leading goal scorer in the WSL and we were on a great track record to win the league again.
I got a new apartment, and a new car. I tried to begin again. A clear slate and a focus on winning with my new team, the gunners.
Today was the first day of practice. The girls are really nice. This team, this family, seem really gelled together and they seem to start getting me out of my dark hole.
âHello you.â Said Beth, âI hope you are well and I well we want to let you know you are very welcome and we hope you have a great time with us here.â she added. âMe too â I responded.
__________________________________
It has been over 2 months since that last interaction with Beth, who I can call my best friend now. Her, Steph ,Katie and I have been inseparable. Arsenal have been on a winning streak since I got here. I seem to enjoy the way they play and interact with each other.
The player I enjoy hanging out with the most is my second Captain, which I can never fully admit.
Leah has been fun, heart warming, safe and a friend and a good one. I can't let whatever is happening affect my career again. I dated a teammate before it ruined my career, or so I thought.
âLadies, how are we feeling about a party? We won again thanks to wonderful strickers. Let's have a party, we deserve it.â Said Katie on the bus. Shortly after a plan was made.
We went to a bar, we drank, sang, danced, and it was that time of the night where I got hungry for warmth. Human connection however unmeaningful. So I kissed the first girl I fancied.
That's when I felt a hand separate me from the girl and drag me outside.
âYou are drunk, let's go home before you do anything you will regret.â Said Leah with an angry tone. â Let go of me, I am lonely. I need this, please let go.â I pleaded with the alcohol affecting my judgment.
â You are a fool if you think I would let you put yourself in danger. You are important to me, you should know that. Now let's go.â She ordered.
â I am not going anywhere with you, you are not my girlfriend.â I protested.
That's when she pulled me in for a small kiss. That felt reassuring but not abusive of my drunk state.
â You are not kissing anyone or going anywhere tonight. Home it is. Now stop complaining and get in please.â She said with a pour on her face. I did as she said, my mind still on the feeling of her lips.
This is going to be a lot to unpack in the morning.

Tara Carpenter x Detective!Reader
masterlist
Preview: "Tara wants to go to college, study, party, make mistakes, and maybe even find love â glancing back at you with that thought. She wanted to be a normal 20-year-old, doing 20-year-old things with her older⊠girlfriend? Tara didnât know if she could call you that, but you shared enough sweet soft moments with her to consider you, hers. But she couldnât do that if she had to look over her shoulder at every creak with a startle."
Warnings: suggestive themes, mentions of violence and mature language. slight scream vi spoilers. read at your own risk.
Note: Reader is around Sam's age, so like 25 or 26. Tara being a words of affirmation girlie. Thought this dynamic would be fun to write about. I'm incapable of writing shorter oneshots ig, so enjoy 6k+ words of whatever this is lol.
Word Count: 6.1k+
The honking of horns blowing through the cool night air was muffled when you pushed the glass door of the diner open. The chimes of the overhead bell rang alerting the room of your presence but barely anyone turned their heads â save for Sam Carpenter who smiled at you.
You shuddered away remnants of the chill air off your shoulders, stepping closer to the bartop; claiming your seat in the far corner pressed up against the wall. A mug is placed on the counter before you even finish hanging your jacket on the back of the chair.
You slide into the high-top seat as the brunette pours coffee into the mug with a carafe. âStill hot, wow, I must be special.âÂ
âYeah okay, hotshot. You just happened to make it in time for a new pot.â She rolls her eyes, and you hide your smirk behind the mug; taking a sip â ignoring the fact that you usually come in at this time.
âYou on the clock?â She asks, leaning on her elbows atop the counter. She glances back briefly, making sure her snitch of a coworker wasnât around to scold her for not doing her job.
It was still too early for the influx of drunk regulars and one-timers to come by, so really the only kinds of people in here were the ones who were getting off work too late to make dinner at home.
âJust got off, 16 hours. But got a new lead on a case that went cold a couple of months ago so I guess Iâm doing a double. Just reviewing some notes now.â You sigh heavily, gesturing to the files and folders sprawled out on the table.Â
She chuckles, shaking her head. âYou work too much. You need to take a break and focus on something else outside of work. When was the last time you did something just for you?â
You roll your eyes at her mocking tone, shooting back, âOh yeah? You learn that from therapy?â
It was her turn to glower when you remind her of the doctor visits.Â
âYeah, thatâs usually the advice therapists love to give me before I actually open up â you know like they tell me to and suddenly theyâre running for the hills, one by one.âÂ
You snort, all too familiar with the tales of her doctor visits. It took a while for Sam to open up to you; trust came sparsely these days for the Carpenter. It wasnât until one of your frequent visits turned into you having to step in and kick a rowdy group of drunkards who were harassing Sam of something along the lines of âWoodsboroâ and âGhostfaceâ. It was only when you threatened the group with jail time did they relent.
Sam knew she could trust you after you sent her an acknowledging nod when the group left and went back to minding your own business. The next time you visited, she opened up; about her past, her father, her hallucinations, the attacks and the trauma that came afterward. And, how she managed to land herself in the big city, which sprouted an overzealous rant about her strained relationship with her sister.
You knew how to read people well, it was a significant part of your job to be able to. So, you knew from the moment you laid eyes on her that there was a fire behind those dark eyes that she desperately tried to douse â you had interrogated and dealt with enough people to know what the glint meant.
You were honest to Sam that you had an inkling of suspicion about the darkness in her mind â you still accepted her despite knowing her dirty secret; that a part of her doesnât feel bad for killing Richie and Amber, if anything it felt kinda good. Sam was confused as to why you, a cop, weren't locking her behind bars at the confession.Â
But, having dealt with the scum of the Earth, you can tell she was nothing like them.
It isnât always easy to differentiate people between just good and bad, you told her when she asked.
A friendship blossomed between you two after that, bonding over similar traumas. Sam invited you to her apartment to meet her friends and sister â who all interrogated you, Mindy, most especially to make sure you werenât secretly Ghostface. The girl had some skills in that department, you'll admit.
Coming to learn of your career and how surprisingly well Sam trusted you, the group lowered their walls bit by bit. They would never say it out loud but they felt way safer having you around.
âThatâs why I donât go to therapy.â You shrug, taking a sip of the steaming coffee; letting the heat warm your bones.
She snorts, pretending to be wiping the countertop when her coworker peeks her head out to look at you two. âYou probably need it more than anyone else in this place.â
âYouâre not wrong about that.â You mumble, as you flip through the evidence photos of a homicide you investigated five months ago. The pictures were gruesome, but it was just another day on the job for you. Maybe thatâs why you and Sam got along more than expected.
Samâs phone vibrates from her back pocket and she fishes it out, reading the text.
âWe got into some trouble, some help?â it was Anika, no doubt being appointed to text Sam because the others didn't want to do it themselves.
âDammit.â Sam sighs, already taking off her apron to leave.
âWhatâs up?â You raise a brow at her panicked expression.
âMy sister and her friends got into some trouble. I need to get them. Crap! Theyâre all the way in the East Village.â She says reading the other incoming texts on her phone. âThis is what I get for letting her go out.â
âCome on, Iâll drive you.â You say, already standing when Sam mentioned Tara. The thought of the brunette in trouble makes your heart stop for a moment.
âNo, I canât ask you to do that. Youâre working.â She shakes her head in protest.
âCarpenter, itâs a 30-minute drive just to get to the East Village, get your ass permission to leave then meet me at my car. Acting like Danny wouldnât have my ass if I just left you like this.â You mutter, acting indifferent â but it was true, her boyfriend would have your head on a stick if you ever left Sam high and dry, not that you would ever.
She nods, knowing she wonât win this one with you. You throw a $20 tip, slip on your jacket, and make your way back out into the cool fall air.
You lit a cigarette to pass time as you wait for Sam â leaning against your car, trying to ease the nervousness raging in you as you think of what kind of trouble Tara found herself in.
You and Tara are... complicated. You two haven't exactly slapped a label on it, all you know is you care about her more than you probably should.
Because of your close connection with Sam, and how much everyone secretly trusted you. You and Tara found yourselves growing closer to each other with each visit to their apartment.
Tara was weary about you at first introduction, ignoring that you were ridiculously attractive. She can still remember Mindy asking you to your face 'Where did Sam find you?' in a flirtatious tone. You just chuckled and explained how you met her sister, and Tara knew it was kind of wrong, but she couldn't help but be intriguedâŠ
Then Sam started leaving you two alone in the apartment to run some errands. With not much to do, Tara decided to pop a horror movie in to watch with you â finding out youâve never seen âSe7enâ after inquiring if your job was just like the movies.
A connection between you and Tara blossomed from those moments in that tiny NYC living room.
Suddenly she wasn't just your friend's little sister and man, is she magnetic.
She educates you on the joys of horror movies and you watch every single one, listening to her analysis of each scene; simply enjoying the serenity she brings out in you.
Tara is secretly glad you are older than her because sometimes it meant youâre so different, but that just means she can expose you to her interests, and vice versa. You never turned her down â no matter what it was.
On the slim chance you got off work early enough, you visited the diner to keep Sam company and do some work.
Sometimes though, when Sam would end mid-morning, you two would continue your talks at her apartment â sometimes with Danny, over whatever leftover diner food she would steal from her work for you three to munch on over beers and conversation.Â
Those would be the nights where you would pass out on their couch from drinking and Tara would finally come out of her room when Sam and Danny leave. She would tuck a blanket over your sleeping figure, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead, taking the time to scan your features for any injuries. And in the mornings, when you were gathering your bearings from a night of drinks and bad choices, Tara would force you to sit down at their dining table and have breakfast with her. Scolding you for your irresponsible choices, but being grateful you were in front of her, nonetheless.
She worries for you with your job and all.
And as you find yourself giving into her request for morning coffee, stolen kisses, and conversation â you push away thoughts of being late to work as you find yourself grateful for similar musings the longer you stare at the pretty girl across from you.
âWow, if people couldnât tell you're a narc. They sure could now.â Sam takes the time to poke fun at you â pulling you out of your daydream. You look down at your figure; sporting a button-down shirt, trousers with your leather jacket on top and trusty leather boots on your feet.
You roll your eyes in realization and flick away the cigarette bud, yanking the car door open.
âItâs the work dress codâ just get in the damn car, Carpenter.â
â âÂ
The usual thirty-minute drive instead took fifteen minutes as you pounded on the accelerator, flipped the sirens on, and dashed past other cars on the road as they cleared the way for you.
You arrive at the corner of a lower Manhattan intersection, the East Village was known for its bustling nightlife; you can see a mix of all ages of people wandering the street as they continue their bar crawl.
It was further down the road, where you can see six sullen-looking figures sitting on the curb of the sidewalk â a police officer standing above them.Â
Sam dashes out of the car before you can even finish parking. You see her run down the street and talk to the officer, getting in his face and the six others look at her panicked. You sigh, and make your way out of the car, strapping your badge to your belt â youâd need to use it soon, youâre sure.
Taraâs eyes immediately connect to you as soon as you climb out of the car. Before she can think about it, sheâs standing up to meet you. âAh ah, I said sit down! You better listen or Iâll throw you all in jail for the night.â
âYou canât do that!â Sam shouts, stepping closer to the police officer. You decided enough was enough when you saw the police officer resting his hand on his holster.
âAll right, thatâs enough.â You grasp Samâs elbow, yanking her away from the police officer. The older Carpenter is slightly startled by the rough tug, but you push her behind you getting in between her and the policeman.
âI think weâre all good here officer, thank you.â You say with finality. You werenât asking, you were telling and Taraâs inebriated mind is all hot and bothered.Â
âLike hell we are, these six were caught sneaking into a club underage, and this one.â He points to Sam, âis getting on my nerves. Now, it seems like I can add you to the list, âcause who the hell you think you are, buddy?â
You briefly glance a stern side-eye to Tara at âclub and underageâ, she immediately looks away.
âDetective Y/L/N from the 99th precinct.â You slide your jacket aside to flash him the badge on your waist.
âAnd, you must be⊠Officer Leroy. From 6th, huh.â Reading his name tag and badge.
âThink thatâs supposed to mean something?â You see his eyes on your badge before glowering to meet your eyes. âIâll arrest you too.â
The group breaks out into loud protests.
You chuckle knowingly, âHow long you been in the force buddy?â You ask, not unaware of all of the eyes on you as you and the officer have a stare-off.
âFour months.â He answers confidently, pushing his shoulders up and back to appear taller.
âHmm⊠see I had a feeling. âCause, my buddy Rivers just got promoted to Captain six months ago over on the 6th precinct, which means heâs most likely your superior. I wonder what youâll tell him as to what charge you picked us up for. âCause well, he will see me.â You shrug, offering up that thought for him to think about.Â
âOh better yet, Iâd just love to see what you write down on that case report, Officer. Leroy.â Your tone was harsh now as you stepped in his face, intimidating him.
He was forced to take a step back as you got in his space, his features paling, it took a few seconds before he conceded. âFine! Just get the hell out of here, and donât let me see you again!â
Everyone let out a relieved sigh as you smirked at his submission; everyone immediately takes the chance to leave and Sam tries to tug on your arm but you were still staring the cop down. He put this hand on his fucking gun when Sam got in his face and anger was quickly rising in your veins â you were unmovable, even by rough force.
âY/N itâs over, letâs go.â Sam tries again but she can feel your arm harden as your knuckles tighten into a fist. âY/N, seriously.â
Tara sobered up by the time police charges was being thrown around and her worry about your protectiveness was increasing. Sam couldnât even pull you away. Chad steps in when Sam asks for help to convince you to move. He puts a hand on your shoulder, whispering calming words, no doubt.Â
But nothing was working as you stood there, still unmovable. She wouldnât be surprised if Chad threw you over his shoulder and dragged you away, even though you werenât that much smaller than him. In your boots, you were nearly at his height and Tara had to strain her neck to try and meet your eyes.Â
It was only when Tara pulled away from Quinn and Mindyâs hold and stepped in front of you, putting a hand just above your chest that you blinked, glancing down at her. âY/N, letâs go⊠please.â
When you tried to glance back up at the other officer, whose partner had seen the commotion and tried his own efforts in calming him; his patience thinning by the second â was when Taraâs grasp on your shirt firmed, making you look back at her own stern eyes.
"Let's. Go." Her tone left no room for argument. Warning you from doing something stupid and you clench your jaw, looking away from the uniformed officers.
âFineâŠ"
Everyone slowly releases a breath when your rigid posture relaxes. âIâm driving you home, letâs go.â You exclaim to the rest but look directly at Tara, âEspecially you, Carpenter.â
You place a hand on the sliver of her back and Tara shivers not used to being this close to you in a while. Your hand keeps its place even as you both turn and Sam is immediately on her ass about sneaking into a club. You guide the bickering sisters to walk to the car, zoning out the familiar sounds of their argument.
ââouâre lucky Y/N was at the diner, who knows what that creep wouldâve done if we didnât drive out here in time.â Your hand tightens, subtly bringing her closer to your side at Samâs words, Tara glances over when you do.
âIt was fine until you got there and started overreacting, Sam.â Tara rolls her eyes, way past just âoverâ Samâs overprotectiveness. The younger girl loved her sister, she did, but she didnât want to live her life constantly looking over her shoulder.
Tara wants to go to college, study, party, make mistakes, and maybe even find love â glancing back at you with that thought. She wanted to be a normal 20-year-old, doing 20-year-old things with her older⊠girlfriend? Tara didnât know if she could call you that, but you shared enough sweet soft moments with her to consider you, hers. But she couldnât do that if she had to look over her shoulder at every creak with a startle.
Sam scoffed offended, âAre you kidding me right now?â And you sigh because you can feel a bigger fight brewing and you can hear the slurring in Taraâs words, not a good mix.Â
âLetâs get you all home first before we do this, okay?â You cut in when you see the car come closer into view. Fishing for your keys, you throw them at Sam making her catch them.Â
âWalk ahead and start the car for me, please?â You ask with a raised brow; tilting your head to gesture to Tara saying a wordless âi got herâ. Sam relents, tightly gripping the keys and walked ahead.
Tara leans her head against your shoulder, grateful for the brief moment of seclusion as everyone else walks up ahead.
âAre you mad at me?â You glance down at her frown, before looking away.Â
âNo. Iâm not.â
âThat wasnât very convincing. If youâre mad you can tell me⊠cause then I can fix it.â You feel her run her hand up and down your back, under your jacket. It made a shiver run up your spine as she continued rubbing lines on the fabric of your shirt.
âI swear, Iâm not mad. A little disappointed but no, not mad.â
Tara huffs, sliding her arm off your back when you reach the car; the talk cut short. You open the car door sitting Tara inside, it was a tight squeeze but she was small. Youâd sit her on your lap if her sister wasn't here. Anika did sit on Mindyâs lap though with poor Chad in the middle seat and then Tara.Â
She squeezes your hand just before you shut the door.
Apparently, Ethan and Quinn elected not to go home and continue on with their night.
Sam is already sitting in the passenger seat by the time you closed Taraâs door. With a sigh, you pull your door open, sit behind the wheel and drive off to the Carpenterâs apartment.
â â
Sam hurriedly rushes everyone into the living room as soon she opens the door; making sure to quadruple lock it, twist the handle to make sure it's locked and look out the peephole. It was Samâs routine whenever she got into their place.
âCome on, letâs go, sit down.â Sam waves at you all, walking to the kitchen to grab water for everyone.
You help Tara onto the far edge of the couch, sitting her beside Mindy, who sat beside Anika. Chad decided to choose a record to listen to get rid of the tense air.
You felt Tara pulling you down with her, âLet me sit on your lap.â She mutters only to you.
âWe canât,â You whisper in her ear, slightly shaking your head. You hear her huff when you refuse her and see the pout on her lips when you pulled back, slightly smiling at her adorableness.
You force yourself to walk away from the younger Carpenter; heart tugging firmly, wanting nothing more than to wrap her in your arms, especially after not knowing what kind of trouble she was in.
Instead, you make your way into the kitchen to help Sam with the water bottles and bread.
âIs this necessary, Sam?â You ask the brunette, who was frantically searching through the fridge on her knees.
âYou kidding? Chad is literally just staring holes at the record player.â She rebuttals and you glance back at the younger boy in amusement.
With a chuckle, you say, âHeâs just high as shit. Heâll come down soon, plus heâs here now, they all are. Just relax and take a deep breath, man.â You remind her in a serious tone, holding out a hand to hold all the water bottles she was passing off to you.
âI know, I know. I was just worried.â She follows your advice taking calming, deep breaths as you follow along with her.Â
âYour therapist would be so proud, Samantha.â You tease smugly as she scoffs, hitting your leg from her position on the floor â you kick her back.
âCan you make sure Tara drinks and eats something, and that sheâs okay before going to bed?â Sam asks you in a hushed tone, although she didnât need to. The other four were all too engrossed either in the music or the TV in the back.Â
âWhy me?â
âSheâs not ready to talk to me and Iâm not either... and I just wanna sleep right now.â She admits with a plead behind her eyes and you nod with no hesitation.Â
âI'll make sure all of them make it to bed, donât worry.â She nods appreciatively, then stands so you can both get back to the other four in the living room â tossing them some bread.
âFinish that whole bottle before going to sleep, I donât care if you piss your pants while you do âem.â You say in a stern tone while throwing the bottles, then sitting on the armchair to Taraâs left.
Sam shares a look with you as she slips out of the room, wordlessly, leaving you with the other four. They watched TV for the next 20 minutes, glancing around as each of them got progressively tired the more time ticked on.Â
âAlright. I think itâs time to call it a night.â You call it.
The twins and Anika slowly got up, muttering goodbyes and promises of texting Tara once theyâd made it home. You offered to drive them to their dorm but felt the silent conversation between the friends â as Tara got them to turn you down to get you to stay here with her.Â
You lean against the front door, watching as the trio made their way down the stairs until they were out of sight. As soon as you shut the door closed, you felt arms wrap around your midsection â making you turn around.
âI missed you,â Tara mutters against your chest making you chuckle when it slightly tickled.Â
You cup her jaw, making her look into your eyes. âI missed you too, baby.â
Tara melts at the term of endearment, grabbing your neck to pull you down for a long searing kiss. Lips slotted over one another as they found the familiar grooves of each otherâs mouths. Only breaking apart when Tara confessed with a bated breath, âYou looked so hot confronting that other cop.â
âYeah?â
âMhmmâŠâ She mutters connecting her mouth to your neck, peppering wet kisses there. She can hear you sigh in satisfaction and it makes her hold on you tighten even more. But with great reluctance, you pulled away from Tara; who whimpered in protest.
âWe canât, babe.â You remind her, pointing with your head to Samâs room.
She frowns, âthen come to my room.â Problem solved. She smirked devilishly, tugging you toward her room; you refused.
âWe still canât. Youâre drunk and Iâm not taking advantage.â You whisper, only stepping close to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. She groans letting her head drop to your shoulder as your hand played with her hair.
âI hate that youâre a goodie two shoes.â She mutters making you laugh.
You tilt her head up with the hand already in her hair â gaze intense as you whisper, âI can assure you, I am far from a goodie two shoes.â
And Tara thought she melted at the way your voice dropped an octave when you said that but she knew she melted when you leaned down, tugging her by the hair, to connect your lips.
It was barely a peck, all tender and fleeting.
When you pulled away, she smirked knowingly watching as your eyes traced a path from her lips to her eyes â your gaze all dark, lustful. When your eyes connect you dive into her with a hair-raising kiss; all hungry and pining.
The feeling of your tongue clashing against hers and sounds of soft moans sends time stopping like only you and her exist in this apartment together. But Tara knows it doesnât really stop and she has to eventually pull away before she takes you in the hallway â right then and there.
âGod, you drive me crazy,â Tara whispers against your lips.
âSo do you⊠cause sneaking into a club, really?â You ask unimpressed and Tara immediately pulls back, groaning.
Snickering as you follow closely behind when she walks into her room, trying to get away from you.
âYouâre a mood-killer.â She mutters sitting on her bed, arms crossed over her chest; sulking.
âAnd youâre gonna give me and Sam a heart attack soon.â You joke but it was true. Tara loved to prove her sister wrong; not like being told what to do. It grew a defiant attitude in her that loved to stir shit up just for the hell of it, and that landed her in some hot waters with her friends sometimes. She definitely made your blood pressure sky-rocket, sometimes too.
âWhy?â Tara probes. You were always so elusive and mysterious â it came with your job and allure. She can barely get you to open up about your feelings most of the time, saying you prefer to show her than tell her. You definitely did, so this admission from you was new. It has Tara yearning to hear more words of affirmation from you.
âDo I have to spell it out for you? I care about you, dummy. I nearly caused multiple accidents just to get to you. I was going like 80 mph the whole time,â You admitted, scratching the back of your neck a little ashamed.
âYou were really that worried?â She asks, looking up at you with a hopeful stare like she was surprised.
âOf course, I was Tara. I even used the siren lights.â You shake your head at the fact that sheâs even asking.Â
She was smiling goofily as you walked closer to stand between her legs, taking both her hands in yours. âI worry for all of you. But you, well, I always worry for you 'cause Iâm thinking about you all the time.â You confessed in a whisper in her dark room.Â
Tara bites her lip, staring up at you with an indecipherable look. âYouâre the worst.â Was the words that left her mouth.
âWhat, why?â You ask laughing.
She lets go of your hands to fiddle with your shirt buttons, muttering, ââCause youâre standing here looking all good and saying all the right things, and you still wonât fuck me.â
âOookayâŠâ You chuckle, grabbing at her fingers trying to unbutton your shirt, âThatâs enough from you tonight. Letâs get you to bed before you say anything else you might regret tomorrow.â
She huffed but allowed you to grab her some new clothes to help her change; still not fucking her, Tara complains. Your eyes never even strayed from hers, not even when she took her bra off to change shirts and batted her eyes seductively. When she was all ready, you helped her to bed; tucking her in.
âStay with me?â She asks grabbing onto your shirt, then gripping tighter. âPlease.â
âWhat about Sam?â You ask softly, pushing away some hair from her face.
âSheâs probably already sleeping, if not, sheâs gonna be in her room all night.â Tara reasons, fully tugging you on top of her.Â
You give in like you always do.
Work for you and classes for Tara have been a lot right now, not being able to find time alone. You were practically living at the police station with the crime surge in the city, working late nights and long hours. With Samâs overprotectiveness, Tara can say goodbye to dates so she only really sees you when you come over with her sister. You take your jacket off, place it on the chair in the corner of her room and tug your boots off. Remembering you had a change of clothes here from when Tara ransacked your closet; you picked out a shirt and shorts before getting into bed beside the younger Carpenter.
She was on you in an instant, swinging a leg over your waist, shoving her face in your neck. You feel her exhale a calming breath, once sheâd settled into a comfortable position on you. You reciprocate by wrapping a strong grip around her waist, cherishing the way her skin warmed yours and how the weight of her body felt perfect.
âJust stay with me until I fall asleep?â She asks you with such a vulnerable gaze that you would never dream of ever telling her no.
You nod, pressing a kiss to her lips, then forehead. âOf course, pretty girl. Goodnight.â
She smiles against your lips, whispering her own, âgoodnight.â
As you hold Tara Carpenter in your arms, you find yourself fending off sleep, only ever being this relaxed around the girl. You squeeze her slightly, feeling grateful to be with her at this moment with all the craziness in your twoâs lives. No worries of outside-world problems could break the cozy bubble you and Tara created. Without ever standing a chance, you lose the fight to sleep and easily fall off the precipice with her in your embrace.
â â
âTara, do you have my nail polish â Oh this is cute.â
You spring up, the voice startling you from the most relaxed sleep youâve ever had; the type that makes your entire body heavy and head foggy when you wake up. You were the lightest of sleepers, a pin drop could probably startle you awake, but never when you fell asleep beside Tara.
âWhat the fuck?â Tara grumbles against your side, peaking her head up to see Quinn watching you two in bed.
It took you a few seconds to realize where you were and instantly pale when you realize you never left the Carpenter Sisterâs apartment, you never even made it out of Taraâs bed. You can feel the stream of sunlight coming in from Taraâs window and just know you had majorly fucked up.
âI just needed my nail polish but this is quite a sight, definitely a pleasant surprise.â She waves a hand toward you two, and you roll your eyes.
âShit babe, Sam.â Tara places a hand on your arm. You check the watch strapped on your wrist for the time, 10:32 AM â making you leap out of her, oh so warm bed.
âScrew Sam, my Captain is gonna be on my ass until next year if I donât get to work now. I was late about two hours ago.â Grumbling, you yanked Taraâs closet open and grabbed the spare trousers and button-down, you stowed in there.
"Can't say I blame your Captain." Quinn retorts, heavily eyeing you as you change your shorts into trousers.
Tara groans at the mess this morning has already been, flopping onto her back.
âScrew Sam, huh?â She appears, leaning on the threshold just behind Quinn, crossing her arms over her chest.
Your hands stall on the tie you were tying as you hear your friendâs voice, making you turn around.
âI guess thatâs a no on the nail polish?â Tara glares at her roommate.Â
Quinn shrugs, still ogling as you changed before turning to leave the room. âNot a wasted trip though, nice catch Tara.â She winks at the brunette â holding a thumbs up.
The redhead just laughs, moving out of the way when Tara attempts to throw a pillow at her.
âSam⊠Iâd love to explain but I am so late for work right now.â You plead at the older sister.
Tara sat on her bed wordlessly, unsure of what Samâs reaction is going to be â but ready to defend her relationship with you, regardless.
Sam chuckles shrugging lightly, âI already knew. Or well, I had a feeling, but this just confirms it.â
You and Tara look at each other at her confession, unsure if Samâs words hold positive or negative connotations. Sam sees the eye-contact and laughs.
âIâm not mad, I promise. I was a little hurt that you didnât tell meâŠâ She pauses, âokay. I was really hurt when you guys didnât tell me. But I realize I havenât given Tara reason to trust me with anything about her life lately.â
That makes Taraâs head perk up at her sisterâs admission. All sheâs ever wanted was for Sam to trust her a little because trust went both ways in every type of relationship.
âAnd well, I guess I canât think of anyone better to be with my sister than my cop friend. Especially after you came through for her last night. You were driving so fast, I thought I was gonna die.â Sam laughs a little but youâre still unconvinced.
When Sam realizes no one was still talking she chuckles again. âGuys, Iâm serious!â
You cough clearing your throat, âSorry Sam, itâs just that... Iâuh,âÂ
Tara decided to cut off your stammering, âWeâre just surprised, Sam. We thought you'd be more upset. And that we were more subtle.â She admits, shooting you a look.
âYou weren't. But, I thought a lot about what to say until I realized it was just you guys and I care about you two so much. You donât think I noticed Tara being a lot happier than usual and you actually looking somewhat at peace?â She asks rhetorically, reading you and Tara to filth â your cheeks reddening, not being used to being at the other end of the âquestioningâ.
âI see how you look at each other. I know youâll protect her.â That last sentence she says looking at you and it means the world to get her approval â something that you didnât even know you wanted, you nod at her appreciatively.
Sam pushes herself off the doorframe, tapping on it. âNow come on, thereâs breakfast in the kitchen, don't let it get cold. And Y/N, I donât think youâre gonna make it to work today.â She winks, leaving you and Tara alone in the room.
You didnât say anything for a few seconds, unable to find words to describe what just transpired in the span of a few minutes. Then you hear a scoff bring you out of your reverie.
âWhat the hell was that,â Tara commented, getting up from the bed and closing the door before approaching you.Â
âIâm⊠not really sure. I canât tell if Iâm still asleep.â You mumble, grabbing at her cheeks to make sure you weren't in a dream. Tara whines against the pinching, swatting your hands away.
You laughed at her frown before leaning down to kiss her slightly chapped lips, all soft and slow. Tara pulls you closer by the neck, sighing against pressed mouths. A sweet moan escapes her mouth when you suck down hard on her lip, releasing it with a loud pop.Â
âYou think I should call in sick today?â You whisper, running a gentle thumb to soothe her swollen lip.
Tara nods, eyes half-open still a little dazed from your kiss. When she gathers her bearings, she runs a hand down your half-done tie, tugging you closer. âDefinitely.â
"You can tell me more about how worried you were and how fast you were driving too," She whispers against your mouth, using your tie as a leash.
"Are you turned on right now?"
"Kinda... can I drive with the sirens on?" She slides the question in like it was nothing.
"No."
"Buzzkill." She teases but pulls you on top when her back hits the mattress. âIâll make you change your mind.â
You definitely forgot to make that phone call.
The rest of that morning was spent in between Taraâs sheets, you two hidden away from the world; ignoring the flurry of texts and calls from your work phone. Only leaving her room to grab some food and water, but getting caught in the crossfire of teasings from Tara's friends when they see the hickeys on your neck.
Tara merely strides past you, dressed in nothing but your button-down, stopping for a peck on the lips and grabbing the water from your hands before hiding back in her room to ignore her friends. You donât miss the cheeky wink she tosses you and the grimace Sam lets out as she watches. Instead, you keep your head down and follow the smaller girl like a lost puppy, ignoring the other's whistles as you do.
And, when you make your way to your desk the next day, a mountain pile of shitty cases for the next month is stacked high as punishment.
You still find it hard to feel any remorse for the no-show.
It was definitely worth it.

movie night pt ii
Summary: After your previous movie night was disrupted by Sam, you finally manage to get a real date with Tara. Or so you thought.
Word Count: 3.6k Warnings: swearing, mentions of stabbings, suggestive themes Pairing: Tara Carpenter x Reader (pt.i)Â (pt.ii)Â (pt.iii)Â (pt.iv)Â (pt.v)Â (pt.vi)Â (pt.vii)Â (pt.viii)
"I demand a do over," you said as you sat directly opposite Tara in the little café.
"It's not my fault you got caught," she said without looking up from her textbook. "I agreed to one movie, nothing more."
"Okay, then no movie," you said. "Go on a date with me."
"And they say romance is dead."
"Please go on a date with me," you corrected.
Tara sighed and looked up at you with bored, beautiful eyes. It wasnât like you could blame her; you had been annoying her since you had been unceremoniously kicked out of the apartment by Sam. But the least she could do was humour you. It wasnât your fault Sam had come home early and cockblocked you both.
You leaned forward on the table. âOne date,â you said softly.
Tara leaned forward too until you could feel her breath on your lips. âYou said that about the movie,â she replied just as softly before leaning back once again.
âWhy wonât you go on a date with me?â You asked with a huff.
And just like that, Tara got silent. Not the âIâm ignoring youâ type of silence she usually had around you, but a genuine silence. One that you werenât entirely sure how to deal with. Your family was rather loud and rambunctious, and that was on purpose, so whenever someone was silent you were at a loss. Did you crack a joke? Ask what was wrong? Change the subject?
The longer the silence went on, the more your palms started to sweat. Through all the teasing and bickering between you both, did Tara genuinely not enjoy being around you? Sure, she played it off and still kept you around, but was it just because she was being polite? Did she share the same sentiments as her sister?
âI was just kidding,â you finally said with a humourless chuckle as you leaned back in the booth and picked up your coffee. âYou donât actually have to-â
â-Iâll go.â
âWhat?â You asked, nearly choking on your coffee.
Tara looked up at you. âIâll go on a date with you.â
âSeriously?â You asked.
âDonât make me say it again,â she said with a huff and the smallest crinkle at the corner of her eyes.
âYouâre agreeing because you want to go, right?â You asked, your eyes still glued to her face even though she wasnât sparing you a second glance. âNot because you-â
â-oh my god, do you want me to go or not?â
âYes I do,â you said as quickly as you could manage.
âGood,â Tara said with an exasperated nod of her head before she started packing up her things. âWe can go after our media class tomorrow.â
âWait but I donât-â
â-this is your one chance,â she said with a pointed look and a move toward the front door. âDonât blow it.â
âTara!â
âSee you in class!â
And just like that, she was gone and you were stuck at the table with a cup of coffee you didnât even want and your stomach twisted into knots. This whole situation was your fault, of course, but you would never admit it. Your determination ramped up instantly. You were going to make this the best first date. It was going to be so perfect that even Tara fucking Carpenter would have to admit it.
âDo you try to sound as stupid as possible?â Tara asked when you held the classroom door open for her to leave.
âYouâre just mad because I refuted your theory about one of my favourite movies,â you argued back before stepping in line beside her.
It had been a good class and, though you wouldnât admit it aloud, you had done your best to rile Tara up. You couldnât help it, she just got so passionate and then she would wave her hands and her facial expressions gave her away. Everything about it was adorable, and you didnât care if you had to sound like an idiot to make it happen.
Although you werenât an idiot and you were right about your theory.
âYou need to improve your movie tastes,â Tara said once you were both walking down the steps of the Liberal Arts building and out into the quad. It was a beautiful day.
âMy movie taste is flawless, thank you very much,â you said. Her knuckles brushed against your thigh, sending a jolt across your skin. âYouâre just an elitist snob when it comes to media.â
âElitist snob, huh?â She asked with a nonchalant nod of her head. âThatâs really how you want to start this date?â
Shit.
âSo where to, your highness?â You asked, completely ignoring her question and keeping your head up. She could humiliate you, but you were at least going to try and keep your dignity intact.
âYouâre the one who wanted the date,â Tara said; her knuckles brushed against your hand this time. You suspected she was doing it on purpose. âYou lead the way.â
Fuck. She was insufferable. God you were obsessed with her.
Wait.
âCome on,â you said with a giddy smile as you reached out and grabbed her left hand. She flinched but quickly settled. âI know a place.â
âSounds like something a creep would say,â she mumbled, but still let you pull her along with you.Â
âYouâre the one who entrusted me with the date,â you said as you started dodging between people and cars that honked at you both even though they were still in park. âSo shut up and come on.â
âIf you get us killed and prove Sam right, Iâm never going to forgive you,â she said but still followed suit.
âSam thinks Iâll get us killed?â You asked when you slowed down, finally only a block or so away from your final destination.
âYes she does,â Tara said with pursed lips and a nod. âEven called you a liability.â
âWell now thatâs just rude,â you grumbled, but otherwise kept silent.
You pushed open the door to the abandoned building and pulled Tara until she walked in. With only a glance outside, you let the door click shut behind you. Your hand placed itself on the small of her back until you could lead her further into the building, quickly making your way to the empty arena.
âWhat is this place?â Tara asked as she stepped away from your touch to look around.
âSome sort of indoor sports arena, I think,â you called out on your way to the wall where you kept a projector screen. âDonât know for sure, but itâs been abandoned for ages.â
âYou brought a Woodsboro survivor to an abandoned building?â Tara asked. You froze. âMaybe Sam was right.â
âI⊠did not think that through,â you said as you turned to look at her. âWe can go if you want.â
âItâs okay,â Tara said before walking closer, stopping when she was directly in front of you. âItâs a thing of the past.â
Was it though? As much as Sam hated you, you knew she meant well. She was traumatised, understandably, by her sister getting attacked three times and having to kill hers and her sisterâs partners. That was enough to make anyone paranoid, and even with Sam going to therapy, it was evident that it still haunted her.
You werenât so sure it didnât still haunt Tara too.
âIâve got stuff in my bag,â you said with a gesture toward the small duffle you had left on the floor. âIâll set up the movie if you set everything else up.â
âDeal,â she said with a small smile that had your stomach doing somersaults.
It only took a few minutes to finish getting everything set up. For the first time, you were genuinely thankful to your dad for getting you the small portable projector. Sure you had used it before, but now you were going to use it to hopefully make it the best date ever. Failure was not an option.
âPick a movie,â you said when you sat back down beside Tara and handed over your phone. âI wonât change it this time.â
âThat a promise?â She asked, but took your phone nonetheless and started scrolling through.
She barely even looked through the plethora of movies on your phone before picking one and starting it. You raised your brow at her when you heard the beginning notes of Titanic playing, but kept quiet. If she wanted to put on a cheesy romance movie then you werenât going to judge.
Tara quickly laid back on the blankets and pillows she had gotten out of your duffle bag, and you followed suit almost immediately after she was settled. The small space between you both vanished after only a few moments when Tara rolled onto her side and rested her head on your chest. Your breath caught in your throat before you exhaled and got comfortable.
âYou picked a cheesy movie,â you said eventually as the movie continued to play.
âI figured you would like the score,â she said without looking at you. Her hand was now resting underneath the hem of your shirt while her fingers scratched your hip. âSince youâre a nerd for that kind of thing.â
âUh huh,â you said; your own hand was rubbing small circles on her back. âI think you just wanted an excuse to watch a romantic movie.â
âOh please,â she huffed. âRomance? With you around? You wish.â
âI most certainly do not,â you retorted quickly. âIf I wanted romance I would find someone else.â
âYou donât think Iâm romantic?â Tara said, finally sitting up just enough to turn her head and look at you. Her hand still stayed pressed to the stretch of exposed skin on your hip.
âNo I donât,â you said, your eyes stuck on hers. She was staring into your very soul and you didnât want her to stop. âI think youâre a brat who knows how to get what she wants.â
âAnd what do you think I want?â She asked, now resting her chin on your chest, right over your heart that you knew she could feel racing.
She was teasing you, you knew that much. It was in the well-concealed smile on her lips and the way her eyes stayed locked with yours. Her question gave you pause and you knew you couldnât answer. Tara had a habit of leading you on and then pushing you away once you were close enough for something to actually happen. If you hadnât both been drunk at the frat party all those weeks ago, nothing would have ever happened.
âI donât know,â you said softly, quietly.
Her smile grew slightly as she moved, pushing herself up until she was straddling your waist and looking down at you. The movie continued in the background but you didnât care. All you could focus on was the feel of her small hands splayed across your chest and your hands on her hips as she leaned so close you were breathing the same air.
âSam canât interrupt this time,â Tara spoke slowly, her lips barely brushing against your own. âDoes anyone else know where this place is?â
You opened your mouth to speak, but the words got caught in your throat when you felt the slightest roll of her hips. It was small, barely noticeable, but you certainly felt it. Had she done it on purpose? She probably had, Tara was cunning. With a singular huff, you closed your mouth and shook your head in the negative.
âThen I know what I want,â she said, and you didnât have to guess what she meant before she pressed her lips to yours.
You felt more than heard her exhale softly through her nose, the warm air brushing against your cheek. Her lips were soft and tasted of strawberry cheesecake; a chapstick Mindy had admitted to giving her after your first movie night. Her fingers curled in against your chest, and her nails left the most delicious sting.
Both of your hands slid under her shirt, resting on the warm skin of her waist. Your thumb accidentally brushed against one of her scars, leaving her to shiver above you only for a moment before she leaned further into you, her kiss now feverish. You tried it again, brushing your thumb over the scar with a gentleness you usually kept reserved. In return, her nails dug deeper into your chest and she lightly bit your bottom lip until you let out a small groan.
She leaned in to kiss you again as her hands left your chest. With the warmth gone, you wanted to pull them back until she grabbed your own hands. Your breath caught in your throat again as she guided your hands up her sides, pushing her shirt up until you could feel the lace of her bra. She let go of your hands before grabbing her shirt and pulling it over her own head, tossing it onto the blanket beside you.
You wanted her to sit up so you could look at her, admire every inch of skin currently exposed to you. The frat party had been so crazy, and you had both been so drunk, you hadnât been able to even look at her. Then Sam had interrupted before you had gotten the chance. Now was the perfect time.Â
You tried to pull back, pushing her softly with your hands so you could see, but her hands quickly flew to your cheeks to hold you still. Her lips found yours again and refused to let you go. As much as you loved kissing her and feeling her hands on your skin, you just wanted to get the chance to see her every curve and freckle and scar.
âLet me see you,â you mumbled against her lips, but she was already shaking her head before you could finish.
âJust kiss me,â she said; she didnât give you much of a choice before leaning in once again.
When her hands held your face a little tighter, you knew she wasnât going to give in. And as much as you wanted to admire her, you would let her make the choices this time. Besides, there were other ways you could admire her. Your hands went around her back to find the clasp of her bra, and even though you were no professional, it only took you a little bit of fumbling before the straps fell down her shoulders.
Tara removed the useless bra as quickly as she had her shirt, and even though you tried to look at her for even a second, her hands found your face once again. It would have been comical how much she didnât want you to see her if you hadnât been so distracted with her soft skin against your fingertips.
With feather light touches, you dragged your fingers across her skin until you could brush your knuckles against the side of her breasts. She exhaled through her nose again, but you didnât move. If she wouldnât pull away long enough for you to look at her, then you werenât going to make a move without her say so. You just wondered how long it would take her before she-
-a door slammed shut.
You sat up quickly, nearly knocking Tara off your lap in the process. With wide eyes, you looked around the empty room, scanning for the source of the noise. It had sounded like the outside door, but that didnât make any sense. In all your years of visiting the abandoned building, no one had ever come in.
Titanic continued to play in the background.
âShould we-â
-you cut Tara off with a finger pressed to her lips. You did your best to tune out the movie, listening intently in the direction of the only open door of the building. Focus. It almost sounded likeâŠ
âCome on,â you whispered as you grabbed Taraâs hand and pulled her after you. You were still vaguely aware of the fact that she was topless, but as the footsteps came closer, you didnât care. You could fix that after you pulled her into a closet with you.
The door clicked closed behind your back as you pushed Tara further into the empty equipment closet. You pulled your shirt over your head and handed it to her quickly before pressing your ear to the door, listening for any other sounds of an intruder. Once she had put your shirt on, you felt her body pressed up against yours, listening just as intently.
Through the door, you couldnât hear footsteps, but you did hear the movie stop suddenly. Taraâs body shook slightly against yours, and you looked down to see the rapid rise and fall of her chest. Her eyes were wide and she was holding her stomach. Where she got stabbed, your brain pieced together.
You continued to listen far after all sounds had vanished from the empty room. No footsteps, no movie, nothing moving around, nothing. Part of you was telling you to stay in the closet; there was no need for anyone to get killed. But you couldnât stay in there foreverâŠ
âWhat are you doing?â Tara hissed when you grabbed the doorknob.
âIâm gonna make sure theyâre gone,â you whispered back.
âAre you stupid?â She asked. âYouâre gonna get yourself killed.â
âI grew up in the closet, Tara, Iâm not gonna die in one too,â you shot back.
âPlease donât go out there,â she said softly as she reached out to grab your arm. âI donât want you to go out there.â
The quiver of her bottom lip was enough to break your heart. Try as she might, you knew Tara was still scarred from Woodsboro, both physically and mentally. And you understood, you did, but someone had to be brave for the both of you. There was no way in hell you were going to make her go check for a murderer.
âIâll be right back,â you said before leaning down and pressing a chaste kiss to her lips. âPromise.â
You didnât give her time to argue with you before easing the door open slowly, closing it just as quietly once you were on the other side. Even just the few seconds with your back to the room was enough to have your pulse rushing so fast you were dizzy. But when you turned around, the room was as empty as you had left it.
Each potential hiding spot you knew of was empty. Not the other closets, or the hallway, or behind the bleachers pushed up against the wall. There was no one there, and that both made you feel better and more terrified. But with no one around, you needed to hurry and get Tara and get the hell out of there.
âItâs me,â you said through the door before Tara opened it quickly, throwing her arms around your neck and pressing herself into you.
âLetâs just get out of here,â she said quickly, and you only nodded in agreement before you went over to the pallet and started packing everything up.
It only took a few moments, but Tara was on edge the entire time. She tried to act like she was fine, but you could see the shake of her hands and the glazed over look in her eyes. She wasnât fine by any means, and that was more than okay, but guilt started to crawl its way up your throat. She kept your shirt on, and you werenât going to bring it up. Lucky for you, you always kept a jacket in your bag, and you quickly threw it on.
âIâm sorry,â you said once you finally dragged Tara out of the building and back onto the streets. Thankfully the sun was still out, or you swore she would have had a panic attack. âNo one has ever come by before.â
âItâs fine,â she said quickly.
âCan I walk you home?â You asked.
She didnât say anything, but grabbed your hand and held it tight. You took that as a yes and started making your way down the streets of New York, knowing how to get to her apartment by heart. It was a silent trip, but quick, and before you knew it you were standing on the stoop of her apartment building.
âIâm sorry again,â you repeated. âGuess I blew my chance, huh?â
âYou didnât blow it,â Tara said with a quiet sigh. âHow about a do over?â
âSeriously?â You asked incredulously.
âYeah.â She smiled softly. âBut no more abandoned buildings.â
âDeal,â you said with your own smile and a light chuckle. âI donât even think Iâm going back for my projector.â
âGet going before Sam sees you,â Tara said as she pushed lightly against your stomach. âI donât think I can handle her scolding.â
âYes maâam,â you said while stepping backwards. âIâll see you tomorrow?ïżœïżœ
âIf youâre lucky,â she said before turning around and walking into her apartment building without a second glance.
With a small smile to yourself, you turned around and started the long trek back to your own apartment. You would need to come up with something not quite so risky for the next date. There were only so many do overs she would grant you, and if you got cockblocked one more time, you were going to combust.Â
But third timeâs the charm, right?

Happy Thanksgiving
Summary: You invite Natashaâs family to join you for Thanksgiving. Holiday cheer and a surprise awaits!
Genre: Fluff
Pairings: Natasha Romanoff x reader, Yelena Belova x reader (platonic), Alexei Alanovich Shostakov x reader (platonic) Melina Vostokoff x reader (platonic)
Word Count: 3.6k
Warnings: None
A/N: This was a fun one. Happy Thanksgiving!
When you first broached the subject with Natasha of inviting Yelena, Melina, and Alexi to your home for Thanksgiving, you werenât sure how your wife would respond. True, things were better. Their relationship had gone through something of a healing process since they took down Dreykov and the Red Room together, but her family was still a lot to handle. Most of the team was going to Iowa to spend Thanksgiving with the Bartonâs. Clint had gotten it into his head to deep fry the turkey this year. It was going to be canât-miss-entertainment according to Sam. However, you and Natasha were looking forward to a more intimate holiday.
âYou really want my family to join us for Thanksgiving?â Her eyes met yours as you snuggled up on the couch together.
âI think it could be really fun. Plus, you deserve to spend quality time with them that doesnât involve death, destruction, or pigs,â you joked.Â
âYou donât like momâs pigs?â She smirked.
No, love. I do. Theyâre adorable. Especially once Yelena made them those personalized piggy vests,â you giggled.
âOh, yeah⊠Pests!â Natasha laughed recalling the image.Â
âSo what do you think? A Romanoff family Thanksgiving?â
She thought for a moment before a smile reached her lips. âOkay, letâs do it. I canât believe Iâm saying this, but I think it could be fun,â caressing your cheek softly.Â
You went into planning mode upon receiving Natâs approval and confirmation that all three were available and would be there with bells on. You were determined to make it a memorable holiday for everyone.
*^~^*
You left early to hit the grocery store the Monday before Thanksgiving. It was crucial to avoiding the out-of-stock items and the rush of âfucking annoying slowpokes who donât know a shallot from an onion,â you eloquently informed your wife after wiggling out of her warm hold.Â
Nat mumbled something akin to, âSee you later, detka,â her head buried in her pillow as you hurriedly put on your coat, scarf, and beanie and rushed out of the house. Your car keys and shopping list clenched purposefully in your fist.
*^~^*
The front door slammed shut a couple of hours later, alerting Natasha to your arrival.
âIâm home, love!â You called out.
âThe conquering shopper has returned! How was the store?â Looking around at the mountain of groceries cluttered around you like presents under the Christmas tree.Â
âIt was good! I managed to get everything on the list,â removing your warm attire and running your hand smoothly through your hair.Â
âI can see that, y/n. Did you leave anything for the other shoppers?â Nat smirked.Â
âThis is all necessary for the traditional Thanksgiving feast I have planned for us,â you explained. âYour family has never had an American Thanksgiving, so I thought, why not go all out?âÂ
Your wife stepped carefully around your grocery maze and wrapped her arms lovingly around your neck. âHave I told you how much I love you?âÂ
âNot in the last twenty minutes,â jokingly glancing at the imaginary watch on your wrist before planting a tender kiss on her lips.
Natasha offered to unpack the groceries for you. Meanwhile, you set about creating a cooking timeline for the meal preparation. You were so in your element your wife couldnât help but smile. As you typed away on your laptop, your adorable expression reminded her of your demeanor in the field. You were focused, engaged, and confident.Â
*^~^*
A creature of habit, Natasha awoke the following morning for her daily run. She groggily reached over to turn off her alarm until she realized the alarm hadnât gone off. No, the clanging of pots and pans from the kitchen tore her from her blissful sleep. Nat rolled over to your side of the bed only to find it empty. She groaned softly and sat up, cracking her neck and stretching her arms over her head as a yawn escaped her lips.
Natasha padded down the hall toward the kitchen, still clad in her pajamas and the fuzzy socks you bought her. She turned the corner to find you floating around the kitchen in a whirlwindâdishes in the oven and stove.
âMoya lyubov? Youâre already in the kitchen?â Rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
âNo rest for the wary, sweetheart. Iâve got to get the pumpkin pie out of the way so I can get started on the sides by this afternoon,â you explained, fervently whisking your pumpkin puree into your custard mixture. You glanced around the counter like you were looking for something. âOh, can you hand me those spice jars behind you?â
She picked up the cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger, stacking them precariously on top of one another like blocks before appearing at your side.
âNicely done. You missed your calling as a professional Jenga player.â
âTake your damned spices,â she snarked.
You sprinkled the spice mixture into the filling and let it sit. âOkay,â you said, wiping your brow. âI just need to grab the pie crust out of the oven. It should be par-baked by now.â
âI got it, detka,â pulling on the oven mitts and removing the pan from the oven.Â
Perfect, now weâre just going to fill the crust,â carefully pouring the custard filling. âThen this is going back in the oven at 325 for 45-60 minutes.âÂ
Nat carefully placed the pie back in the oven. âShall I close, doctor?â
âPlease,â in your most professional voice before lapsing into giggles.Â
âNow, thatâs in. We can get started on the sides. Mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry feta salad,â you listed.
Two types of potatoes?â
âOh, itâs a must, love! You get both the salty and the sweet. Itâs potato perfection.â
âHmm, just like you,â she said suggestively.
âSmooth,â you replied.
âI try," putting her arm around your shoulder.
*^~^*
You were still in the kitchen when Natasha returned from her run.Â
âHave you taken a break at all since I left?â She removed her running shoes and placed them by the front door.
âNo time for breaks. Your sister just texted me and asked if Mac and Cheese was part of the American Thanksgiving tradition, so Iâm whipping up one for her.â
Your wife rolled her eyes. âFor Godâs sake, thatâs not necessary, malyshka. Yelena will survive one meal without her precious Mac and Cheese.âÂ
âItâs no problem. I want your family to feel comfortable! Thatâs why I also have a sparkling Vodka cocktail planned,â you winked.Â
âThat is so sweet, but there is no need to stress over it, y/n. They are going to love it no matter what you make. Plus, you know if you feed them this well, theyâll never leave, right?â
âWouldnât that be wonderful?â You joked.
âNo, it wouldnât,â she deadpanned.
The rest of the afternoon was spent preparing the stuffing, cranberry sauce, garlic green beanies, and gravy. By the time you finally laid down on the couch Tuesday evening, still in your apron, you were pleased with your progress. Your legs lay across Natashaâs lap while she massaged your aching feet. She wasnât surprised to look over and find you sound asleep five minutes later as the television glow illuminated your features. Your wife could only smile at your sleepy form before gently picking you up and carrying you to bed.
*^~^*
Wednesday morning Natasha decided to let you sleep in, so she made the executive decision to turn your alarm off. Truthfully, she felt guilty for how hard you had been pushing yourself this week for the sake of her family. Nat was nursing a cup of tea and reading a book in the family room when she heard you down the hall.
âOh, crap!â You shouted.
â3,2,1âŠ..â Natasha counted down.
âNat, why didnât you wake me up!â Throwing on your favorite cardigan as you entered the room. âIâve still got to make the pretzel bread and raspberry jello today.â
âYou needed the sleep. I canât tell youâre exhausted, and you were sleeping so soundly when I got up.â
You had a look of panic in your eyes.
âItâs okay, y/n. I found the jello and bread recipes on the table and got the jump on it for you. The jello is done and in the fridge, and the bread dough is under the towel rising.â
You blinked a couple of times as if she was speaking Latin. âYou cooked?âÂ
âAre you questioning my abilities?â Raising an eyebrow.Â
âWell.⊠yeah? I love you, sweetheart, but the only thing Iâve ever seen you make is a peanut butter sandwich.â
âSee for yourself,â smiling proudly and removing her reading glasses.
Opening the fridge, you were pleasantly surprised to find a gelatinous raspberry jello staring back at you. You then peeked under the towel on the counter to find the bread dough had just about doubled in size.
âWell, turn me upside down and paint me blue!â
âHmmm, tempting, but letâs save that for after my family leaves,â Natasha smirked as she kissed the side of your temple from behind.Â
âThis is awesome, my love. Thank you so much,â turning around in her hold. âI have to say, the thought of the Black Widow cooking Thanksgiving dinner is incredibly sexy.â
âIs it now?â She said, wiggling her eyebrows.
âVery, I may have to get you your apron,â you teased as Natasha gently grasped your ear lobe between her teeth before placing soft kisses down your neck. Her phone dinged with a text notification on the counter beside you a few moments later. You glanced down at the screen out of the corner of your eye.
âItâs Yelena, sweetheart...â
âIs she on fire? Otherwise, Iâm not stopping.â Moving the tender kisses to your lips.Â
âNo, she wants to know if she should bring anything,â you replied between kisses.
She feels terrible weâre doing all the work,â
âSheâs bringing our parents, thatâs a shit ton of work.â
âAinât that the truth.â
*^~^*
The next day, you and Natasha got started on the crown jewel of your Thanksgiving dinner: the turkey. After letting it thaw in the fridge all week, your twenty-pound bird had been marinating in a salt brine for twelve hours. You placed the turkey in the oven at 425 degrees for 35 minutes, which gave you two just enough time to get ready before it needed to be basted.
You heard the doorbell after showering and putting on your best fall colors.
âBaby, theyâre here!â you called, opening the door to welcome your guests.
Alexi was sporting a plush turkey hat while Melina held a freshly made appetizer. Standing in front of both of them, Yelena had Fanny at her feet. She quickly stepped inside first with a warm hug and a peck on your cheek.Â
âHappy Thanksgiving, y/n! Thank you so much for inviting us. âNow,â placing both hands on your shoulders. âWhere is the booze? I just had to spend the last 20 minutes in the car alone with them, listening to Alexi ramble on about his stupid hat.â
You point toward the coffee table, holding the sparkling Vodka cocktails as your sister-in-law gives you a cheeky smile. âI love you.âÂ
âHaha!â Alexi exclaimed. Greetings, my wonderful daughter-in-law. I am ready for turkey!â Wrapping you in a giant bear hug.
âCouldâve fooled me, Alexi,â you joked. âOoh, Melina, what do we have here? It looks delicious.â
âA traditional Russian appetizer, Mushroom Julienne. Mushrooms and onions cooked in cream sauce, cheese, and sour cream.â
âMy mouth is already watering. Here, let me take your coats. You can place them on the coffee table,â you offered.Â
After tending to the coats, you rejoined the group as everyone settled in the family room for appetizers and cocktails. Holiday music played softly in the background, setting the scene perfectly. You sat on the sofa beside your wife while your in-laws treated you to numerous stories of Natasha and Yelenaâs all-to-brief childhood in Ohio. Some of which you had yet to hear.Â
âY/N, has Natalia told you how she and Yelena used to stay up late on Christmas Eve to try and catch Santa Claus?â Melina asked.Â
âNow, that was fun. You know, he comes down the chimney, girls. Look out! Where is he? You wait for him, and when the cookies are gone, you see heâs there.â Alexi recalled.
Yelena smiled fondly at the memory while Natasha turned red as Santaâs suit and hid her face in her hands.
âAww, honey,â rubbing circles on her back. Itâs precious! Iâm sure you were adorable.âÂ
âAs adorable as you can be with bright blue hair. You looked like cotton candy,â Yelena laughed.Â
Nat threw a pillow across the room, barely missing her sisterâs head.
âHa!! Missed!â Yelena snarked.
âGirls, behave,â Melina ordered.
You couldnât help but smile at the sisterly teasing and family banter. This was exactly what you were hoping for, and the evening was just getting started.
âOh, detka, you donât have a drink yet. Let me get you one,â Natasha offered, standing up, but your hand on her arm stopped her.Â
âOh, no thanks, love. I actually need to go check on the turkey.âÂ
âIâll join you,â Yelena announced. âI want to see this bird you Americans are so crazy about.â
You opened the oven to reveal your delectable 20-pound turkey. âDo you want to brush it with the honey glaze for me, Yelena? Iâm going to check on the side dishes.âÂ
âJust call me DaVinci!â She declared.
You turned around to find your sister-in-law had finished the glazing by painting a smiley face on the turkey.Â
âWow, I didnât know our turkey had such a charming smile,â you joked. Reducing the heat to 325 and setting the timer for another 75 minutes.Â
âThank you again for including us today, y/n. While it wouldâve been fun to watch Barton sear his eyebrows off trying to deep-fry a turkey, it's been nice to see Natasha so happy. We didnât have any family holidays growing up. Not real ones, anyway.â
âWell, you always will now,â placing an arm around her shoulder. âI will spend the rest of my life trying to make your sister happy. Thatâs a promise.â
*^~^*
While the turkey finished cooking, you decided to share as many of your Thanksgiving traditions as possible. You watched the Macyâs Thanksgiving Day Parade, took in some Turkey Day football, and even played a rousing game of Pictionary.
âWhat the hell is that?â Yelena shouted as Nat was diligently engaged in her drawing. Â
âOooh! Ooh! A ladybug doing the Macarena!âYou screamed just before the timer ran out.
âYes!â Nat shouted.
âUnbelievable, what is that? Five in a row,â Melina remarked. No wonder you two are such a good team.â
âWell, it's no surprise you're a pro at Pictionary. Who needs talent when you can just doodle like a 5-year-old?â Yelena retorted.
âDonât hate the player, hate the game, Lena,â dropping the marker like a microphone.
âTrust me, I do. It will be perfect for when I want to torture Kate Bishop.â
âWith that, I think itâs time for dinner,â you announced happily.Â
*^~^*
It only took a few minutes before your Thanksgiving feast was lovingly displayed on the dining room table. The sight and aroma of the food was a gentle massage to the soul.
âBefore we dig in,â holding up your glass for a toast, âI just wanted to say how happy Nat and I are that you could join us today. We love you, and Iâm so thankful to be a part of your family.â
Natasha grasped your hand and placed a soft kiss on your knuckles.Â
âWe feel the same way,â Melina concurred.
âYes, weâre so happy that you and our little Natalia found each other,â Alexi added.
âYes, y/n is a saint. Itâs all very touching. Can I carve the turkey now,â Yelena groaned, holding up a sharpened carving knife.Â
âYou may proceed,â you declared with a Queenâs wave of your hand.Â
Dishes were passed around the table like musical chairs. Wine filled everyoneâs glasses while you opted for your favorite - Martinelliâs Sparkling Cider. You pretended not to notice Yelena sneaking a few scraps to Fanny under the table. The chatter rose and fell, every few moments dispersed with laughter. It was the kind of occasion most aren't aware they're genuinely enjoying yet look back at in warm nostalgia.
After hibernating in your Thanksgiving food comas, you returned to the family room for dessert. You were excited to finally bring out the homemade Pumpkin pie topped with whipped cream.
âAh, now this is a beautiful pie.â Look at this, girls. I love America, you cannot get this back in St. Petersburg.â Alexi gushed.Â
âY/N made it from scratch,â your wife bragged, causing you to blush at the compliment.
âDid y/n also split the atom?â Yelena teased. She earned an eye roll from her older sister. âCould you BE more whipped?â
âNo, I honestly donât think I could,â Natasha looked at you like you had hung the moon and the stars.Â
*^~^*
As the evening wound down, the hustle and bustle of the past week was starting to catch up to you. Your wife didnât miss your heavy eyelids or the tiny yawn that escaped your lips as Fanny hopped up on the couch to lay down beside you.Â
âWell, we should probably get going. Traffic will be annoying when crossing back over the bridge,â your sister-in-law said.
âBefore you go, I have gifts for all of you!â You exclaimed, jumping up off the couch.Â
âYou do?âA bewildered expression on Natâs face.Â
âI do!â Youâre voice trailed away as you padded down the hall toward your bedroom.
Natasha turned around to her family with a shrug of her shoulders. She had no clue what you were talking about. You returned a moment later with small autumn-gold gift bags.Â
âThis is just a little something for each of you,â clasping your hands together in front of your smiling face. Natasha was even more confused when you handed her one as well. âGo on, sweetheart,â you encouraged.
Natasha removed the delicate tissue paper. Her solid and calloused hands met the soft cotton hiding inside. She pulled the gift out and held it up in front of her. A tiny onesie that read âMommyâs Little Turkeyâ was staring back at her.Â
Natasha stared at it speechlessly, wide-eyed. A first for your relationship. Finally, her brain caught up with the moment. âMoya lyubovâwhat? WeâyouâŠyouâre pregnant?â
You nodded vigorously, starting to cry. Natashaâs hands cupped your cheeks. Her lips met yours in a heartfelt kiss, not caring that her family was watching. You gently combed your fingers through the hair at the nape of her neck, returning the kiss.
Melina, Alexi, and Yelena held up their onesies to find variations of Natashaâs: Grandmaâs Little Turkey, Grandpaâs Little Turkey, and Auntieâs Little Turkey.âÂ
âI knew it!âYelena shouted.
Melina turned to Natasha and whispered, âYou see what can happen when you keep your heart,â holding her lovingly in her arms. Â
Vashe zdorov'ye! (Cheers) Alexi exclaimed. If it is a boy, you will name him Alexi. It is a strong and honorable name!â Kissing you on both cheeks.
âOh God,â Yelena muttered under her breath. âFor the love of Fanny, please donât do that,â wrapping her arms around you. âI would love to babysit. Iâm looking forward to passing on much to my niece or nephew.â
âYeah, thatâs not terrifying at all,â your wife mumbled in your ear.Â
The shock was wearing off. Natasha reached down and gently placed her palm on your stomach. You werenât showing yet, but just knowing that your child was growing inside you awakened a dream that she had put away in the Red Room long ago.Â
*^~^*
Once her family left, Natasha insisted that she would handle the post-holiday clean-up, confining you to the couch with many pillows and a fluffy blanket. Foreshadowing what was to come for the duration of your pregnancy.Â
âSweetheart, those dishes go in the top right cupboard,â directing her from the couch.
âNo worries, malyshka. I got it! You take it easy. The baby needs rest after all of this Thanksgiving cheer,â her protective instincts appear.
âThe baby is the size of a plum, my love,â
âA very tired plum!âÂ
*^~^*
Thirty minutes later, the kitchen was clean, and you both were ready for a good nightâs sleep. You would never admit it to your wife, but boy, were you tired. You donned your coziest pajamas and joined Natasha in bed. Snuggled into the covers, you found comfort and peace in your safe space. Nat rolled over to face you, your foreheads touching in a beautifully intimate gesture of love and affection.Â
âThis has been the best day of my life. Not only did you give my family an amazing Thanksgiving, you gave me a gift Iâll never forget. Though I have to admit now that I know youâre pregnant, Iâm replaying the last week in my head in a loop of horrifying anxiety.âÂ
You giggled at her confession, âItâs alright, Nat. Iâm ready for a nice long rest, and I just had a check-up with Helen last week.â
âWait, does the team know?âÂ
âDear God, no. You think that group can keep a secret?â
âWe can tell them at Starkâs Christmas party in a couple of weeks if youâre comfortable with the idea.âÂ
âPerfect. I need time to prepare for the onslaught of attention from our little oneâs aunts and uncles.â
Natasha reached over and grabbed your hand. âI love you, y/n. I canât wait to welcome our little plum into the world,â she smiled.
âI love you too. You are going to be an amazing mother, sweetheart.â
âHappy Thanksgiving, y/nâ
âHappy Thanksgiving, Natasha.â

TELLING THE TEAM | s.kerr the sweet nora universe, masterlist
summary: you and sam decide that it's finally time to tell the girls about your big news.
pairing: mum!sam kerr x fem!reader
notes: love love love this one
august 2019, 3 months pregnant
"Y/N, HAVE YOU SEEN my boots?!"
you tried to stop yourself from rolling your eyes at sam before calling back to her, "which ones?".
"my mercurials!"
"which ones?!" you yelled back, knowing she had over five pairs of mercurials.
"the pink ones!" you held back a groan, knowing exactly where she had left them.
"they're under the bench!"
"where?!" sam's footsteps grew closer as she began to stomp down the stairs of your brisbane apartment. sam came into the living room, watching as you rounded around the kitchen counter, kicking out her black mesh training bag.
"they're still here, in yesterday's training bag" you kicked the bag over to her. sam had a bad habit of leaving her things laying around and then forgetting where everything was. you had a good habit of finding them all for her.
"i was looking for that" sam raised her eyebrows as she picked up the bag.
"mhm" you hummed, going back into the kitchen to finish getting breakfast.
"you're the best" sam stopped you in your tracks, snaking her arms around your waist. she rested her hands on your tiny bump that had began to form. "how are you feeling?" she asked, kissing you on the cheek before leaning her chin on your shoulder.
"better," you nodded. "tired still" a sigh escaped your lips, recalling your sleepless night. were you too hot? too cold? you couldn't decide. sam just so happened to sleep through the entire ordeal.Â
"we'll have an early night," she drew circles on your bump with her thumb, giving you another kiss. "i'll be home around two?" she looked to you for confirmation that the times worked for you. if, in a hypothetical world, they didn't; you knew she would be home whenever you needed her.Â
"okay," you nodded, leaning back into her embrace. "have fun, good luck" you whispered, turning your head to kiss her cheek before she left for practice.Â
"oh babe," sam pulled back a little so she could see you properly. "i think.." she lead, "i think i wanna tell the girls".
you blinked a few times, processing what she had said. "really?" you asked her, your eyebrows raised.Â
"yeah," sam looked down at your belly, drinking in your new glow. "can't hide her forever" she smirked softly before meeting your gaze again.Â
"when do you wanna tell them?" you asked, still a little taken back that 'mrs. lets keep it to ourselves for a bit longer' wanted to tell her teammates.Â
"today?" she shrugged, "did you wanna come to prac? i'll set you up in the shade" sam suggested.
you shook your head straight away, "i dont wanna barge in on practice, sam" you told her.
"you're not!" she argued, "they love you".
"i don't want to annoy anyone" you gently pulled yourself from her grasp and went to walk back into the kitchen.
"i want you to be there when we tell them" sam followed you, propping herself up on the counter that you needed to get into. she forced you to look at her, stopping you from getting a bowl for breakfast. "please?" she leant forwards and grabbed your hands in hers, engulfing them in a tight grasp.
you sighed, closing your eyes. "fine" you huffed, "now move" you waved her away, you were verging on hangry.
"thank you" sam smiled, pushing herself off of the counter. she grabbed your hand and pulled you along and away from your cupboard, away from your cereal. "come on, i'm late" she scooped your bag and her training bag off of the bench and hiked her duffle bag on her shoulder, leading you to the front door.Â
"my cereal!" you whined.
"shh" she kissed your cheek a few times, quieting you down. "i'll get you breakfast on the way. i'm running late" she chuckled, locking the door behind you both.
"you.. late? really?" you looked back at her as she rushed you towards the car. "no!" you exclaimed, a faux look of shock on your face as you got into the passenger seat of sam's car.
"shut up" she deadpanned before closing your door on you.
the drive wasn't too far, brisbane traffic was kind to you this morning. as you pulled into the car park you saw alanna getting out of her car as well. sam called out to her as she pulled her duffle bag from the back seat.
alanna turned around and you were met with a big grin as she realised that sam had you in tow. "what are you doing here, missy?" she grinned, pulling you in for a hug. you tried to keep your belly off of her as much as possible without being too obvious, not needing your tiny bump to press against her and give it away.
"i'm in my rookie season" you chuckled.
"oh yeah, course" alanna laughed as if it was obvious. "silly me," she scoffed.
"sam dragged me out," you walked with alanna, her arm now interlocked with yours.
"sounds like her"Â
"right here" sam piped up, reminding you both of her presence.Â
"we know" alanna shrugged, giving her a look with a scrunched up file and a sarcastic smile.
"i'll bench you," sam raised her eyebrows at her.
"then how will we win games?" alanna looked from her captain to you, a confused look painted her face. you let sam and alanna talk about football while you all made your ways to the change room.Â
"y/n!" emily smiled as she watched you walk in with sam and alanna. she made her way over to you and pulled you in for a hug.Â
"hi," you smiled, giving her a tight squeeze. "how are you?" you asked as you pulled away to look at her.
"good," she smiled, "what are you doing here?".
"i-"
"new recruit," sam cut you off, draping her arm around your shoulder, pulling you in close. emily chuckled and spoke with you about how you had been. it was only a few minutes before ante came into the room.
"alright girls," he clapped his hands as he walked into the change rooms, grabbing everyone's attention. "hi y/n," he quickly shot you a smile as he walked into the centre of the room. "we've got some new drills we want to run today for the midfield, and then i want to run a strategy session" he explained, the coaching staff trailing in behind him. "y/n, you can help me yell at them if they run too slow" he pointed over at you with a small smile on his lips.
"perfect," you nodded, arms crossed over your chest.
"she's good at yelling at me" sam looked at you, a few of the girls laughing at her comment.
"oh, whatever" you rolled your eyes, shaking her off with a smile.
"alright, let's get out there" ante held his thumbs up before heading out, "sunscreen on! it's hot" he called out.
"c'mon, i'll find you a spot" sam put you back under her arm, now a little bit taller with her boots on. "we'll tell 'em after" she whispered in your ear. you all made your way out onto the field and you silently thanked yourself for wearing sneakers this morning so you didn't ruin the turf.
"how are you, y/n?" ante asked as you and sam made your way out.
"good, ante. how are you?" you smiled at him as sam walked off with caitlin.Â
"great," he grinned, "joining us today for prac, hey?"
"i've been dragged out, yes" you nodded, chuckling softly.
"it's always good to have you around," he gave you a light pat on the back before heading off to speak with some of the coaching staff.
"y/n!" sam waved you over to the player's bench. you walked over and met her where she had set up a spot for you. "have you got your water?" she asked.
"yep" you nodded, grabbing it from your bag.
"here," sam crouched down in front of you and opened the bottle of sunscreen that the team would use today. "put this on, then i'll take it over to the girls" she told you, squeezing some out into your hand.
"sam-" you went to argue.
"i'm literally not kidding" she looked up at you, not a glint of a joke in her gaze. you rolled your eyes before rubbing in into your face and neck. "ears!" she reminded you grumpily. you chuckled, shaking your head at her. "don't shake your head at me" she gave your leg a little shove.Â
"happy?" you asked her, your face oily from the sunscreen.
"very," she stood up, giving your thigh a squeeze beforehand. "i'll see you after, try not to stare at me too much" she playfully tapped your knee with the sunscreen before walking off to meet the girls.
"mm, i'll try" you chuckled, "have fun".
"love you" she called out to you. "sunscreen?! does anyone want some sunscreen?" she shouted as she met up with the girls.
"skip!" katrina called out. sam walked over to her, reaching out to pass her the bottle. "c'mere" kat waved her away from the others, isolating themselves from the bigger group.
"what?" sam lowered her voice.
sam watched as katrina struggled with her internal voice for a moment. "did you.." she sighed, trying to phrase what she wanted to say the right way. "is-" she cut herself off again, before committing to her words. "is y/n pregnant?"
sam's jaw dropped, and she looked around to see if anyone heard what katrina had said. "wha-" she looked back at katrina, "shh.. how did you know?"
she crossed her arms over her chest, and looked up at her young captain with raised eyebrows. "the last time you brought her to training, you told us you were engaged" she reminded you. sam nodded slowly, realising that he had been right.
sam bit her lip before admitting the truth to her teammate. âshe's only a month or so along" she whispered, hoping no one was taking notice of their meeting.
"sam! that's amazing" katrina tried her best to contain her excitement. "congratulations! awe i wanna hug you," she knew how important this was to you both. having been the first person to be told that you were going through rounds of ivf, mini had been waiting for this day to come. "i'll keep it on the down-low" she promised.
"thanks min," sam whispered, letting a smile break through finally. she often had moments like this. where it actually hit her.. she was going to have a baby with you.
"i'm so happy for you" kat whispered again.
"sam, katrina!" ante called out, "eyes up!"
training flew by for sam and the girls. not so much for you, who had been sitting in the hot sun. the cool breeze that would come past every few minutes and your water bottle were your only relief.Â
"shit, it's hot" caitlin sighed, grabbing her water bottle from the cart. the girls began to gather around the bottle-carts, getting a drink after their drills.Â
"i'm dying here" macca agreed, taking off her keeping gloves.
"bring it in girls!" sam clapped. she gathered the girls over by the playing bench where you were sitting, granting them all a moment of solace in the shade. "obviously, i know it's going to be a busy few months. we've got a world cup to go win, i know lots of you have commitments to other clubs too, so i just want to tell you that if you are struggling, make sure you come have a chat with me or with ante. i don't want anyone to feel like they can't come forward if they're not one-hundred percent, okay?"
the girls nodded as sam spoke, listening to what their captain was saying to them. "especially because next year i'll be a little preoccupied so i want you to talk to me now as much as you can"Â
a few heads shot up. confused looked were shared between the girls.
but it was alanna that spoke up, "what?".
"because when y/n has the baby next january i might be a little busy" sam nodded, a smile breaking through her neutral exterior.Â
"oh my god!"Â
"are you fucking kidding?"
you and sam watched as the girls let the news set in. ellie had already ran over to you and engulfed you in a tight embrace. "holy shit! y/n!" she grinned, holding you tight. you laughed at her as other girls came over to say congratulations to you.
"thanks girls" you chuckled, leaning your head on ellie who still had a strong hold you on.
"i knew she wouldn't drag you out for nothing!" lydia smiled, giving sam a little shove.
"she didn't even wanna come!" sam yelled, throwing you under the bus.
"y/n! thatâs low" clare held her hands up in the air, looking over at you now.
"she's a liar," you smirked, meeting clare's gaze.
"i can't believe it!" tameka brought sam in for a hug. "congrats guys" she looked back over to you afterwards.
"we're gonna have a baby!" alanna cheered, clapping her hands as mackenzie hugged her.
"i'm gonna be an aunty!" macca exclaimed.
"the kid's gonna have like twenty aunties" sam laughed, earning a few chuckles from the others.
"weâll, i'll be her favourite so i don't mind" alanna shrugged, earning a glare from mackenzie.
as you looked around you realised how lucky your baby would be, because sam was right; they had twenty plus aunties ready to love them as soon as they was here.

Don't play with fire | - Part 2 - |
Autors Note: I recommend to read Part 1 first. This is going to be a rollercoaster, but I hope you like it. I liked writing it and I'm really happy I started writing again. Now I try writing smut too. If you like the song 'Unholy from Sam Smith' listening to it later on, made the scene better. At least I listened to it while I wrote the scene.
Also as before, english is not my first language, I hope I corrected most mistakes.
Summary: After having a panic attack and realizing that Cooper could be the Butcher., you tried living your life normally again, until you got a text from an unknown number. Should you go to the police? Half a year later everything is normal again, at least you think it is.
-> Writing in 'italic' is supposed to be the your thoughts

That was your first panic attack you had in your life. You spend that day at the hospital, your mom picking you up in the evening. She didnât pry for information, although she was very worried. When you got back to her house and sat in the living room over a hot tea, you told her everythingâ Though more like everything she could know.
You told her about the concert, how you werenât feeling well because of the crowd of people. So you went home early, then your bike got stolen and your boss fired you after some nasty words. You said you didnât know how you ended up at the hospital, you were just aimlessly walking and then woke up in the hospital. Remembering a lot of concerned voices around you but nothing more.Â
Seeing that you were near tears again your mom started to hug you for several minutes. You let it all out. All those bottle up emotions of the day. You just didnât know what to do with all these emotions. It was too much, like you werenât in control anymore.
âYou know sweety, you should move closer again. Ah no disagreeing! Think about it. You know my grandparents also had their apartment. Please consider it, I worry about you.â she said, squeezing your shoulders. âYou could save so much money!â
âOkay mom. I promise Iâll think about it, but not today. Let me find a new job first.â you tried avoiding the situation. She nodded
âWell, come one you can sleep in your old room today. Tomorrow I'll drive you to the mechanic so you can get your car back.â
âThanks mom.â, she kissed the top of your head and pushed you towards the stairs. Shaking your head, you went up towards your old room. You could barely say no to anything, when it came to your mom. However, moving back was the one thing you didnât want. It was stupid. You wanted to live independent and not in your moms apartment, where she probably wouldnât even allow you to pay rent.
Stepping inside your room, everything looked as you last remembered it. Your mom tried to make it look like your old room. The big double bed near the window, with the one teddy bear on it. A small wooden closet near the wall. You closed the curtains on the window and went to bed.Â
On the bathroom mirror you could see a bruise starting to form on your shoulder, where Cooper had gripped it. Clearly you couldnât wear something without sleeves the next few weeks.Â
Before going to sleep you checked your phone. You nearly forgot about it. There was nothing. No new contact, no number saved anywhere, everything was the same. You remember it clearly, he told you he had saved his number, but nothing. You checked your phone completely. Looked through everything, photos, deleted messages, deleted contacts. Still nothing.
âHad he just been toying with you? Playing into your anxiety?â After checking your phone for a second time you gave up. Maybe you imagined it, maybe you should just call it a day. As soon as you put your phone down and your head hit your pillow you were out. The events of that day were finally catching up with you.Â
Waking up the next day, you still felt exhausted but overall better. True to her word, your mom drove you to the mechanic, and reminded you to visit her once a week like you promised her on her last birthday. No more work excuses.Â
You promised, she was getting older and you did want to spend more time with her. She turned 59 this year. You loved her, she always did her best. Recently your grandfather passed away, leaving everything to your mom. Your grandparents had an estranged relationship with your mom, but seeing as she was their only child⊠she inherited it all. Now your mom could live without worries. She had a house and had a spare apartment. Seeing as they did have a bit of money.
Over the next week you wrote more job applications and went to a couple of interviews. Until you finally found yourself a new job. The company and boss seemed nice and you even got to work from home 10 days a month. Big plus and the pay was decent. You stayed in your apartment most of the time after the concert, fearing you might run into Cooper somewhere. You were quite paranoid. Fearing what he would do to you. Were you going to be next, if he was the Butcher?Â
With the new job, came new energy and you started to live again. Step by step you were going outside, to the office, meeting your friends or going out for drinks. Still sometimes, you looked around you. Feeling like someone was staring holes in your back.
The second panic attack came when on a day you were working from home. A few weeks had passed and overall it started like a totally normal day, just a few calls. Not much work to do that day and around lunch time you still wore your pajamas. When you went into the kitchen to cook, you suddenly got a text message from an unknown number. First you thought it was someone from work. Though, the number didnât seem familiar, so maybe it was a customer? However, none had your private number. You opened the message and instantly knew who sent that text.
âYou should watch the news. Unfortunately I must tell you that Spencer didn't seem to be very grateful. Sorry to disappoint you sweetheart. â
You dropped your phone, heart pounding in your chest. âSweetheartâ Was that Cooper? So he did have your number⊠Why should you watch the news?â Slowly you crept down, picking up your phone from the floor and almost dropping it again. Your hands trembled so much.Â
After releasing a shuddering breath, you put your phone in your pocket and stepped towards your living room. One step at time, fearing you might fall if you walked too fast. Holding on to your sofa for dear life, you reached for the remote.Â
Turning on the TV, unsure of what you would find, you switched programs until you found the news channel. Your hands still trembling, you took deep breaths trying to calm yourself.
âMaybe you should sit down?â â Letting yourself fall onto the sofa you turned up the volume. You saw a lot of police in the background then view switched to the reporter, who started speaking
âYesterday in the early hours, two hikers found something horrible on their daily hiking trail. We waited for further information from the police and we can now announce that the Butcher has found yet another victim. This marks the 13th victim of the Butcher.â
Your knuckles around the remote turned white from anticipation, your fingernails digging in your own palm. âMaybe you should stop with the acrylic nailsâ You held your breath. They showed a photo of a young man on the screen. It wasnât someone you knew.
âThe victim seems to be a young man named Spencerââ Spencer.. That was the name he told you that day. You didnât even listen to the rest of the news. Completely blending everything out, thoughts racing in your head. A sob escaped you, your whole body shook uncontrollably. Gasping for air, crying, you had your second panic attack. It felt even stronger then the first one, but maybe it was only because you were more aware now.Â
A part of you felt like you killed Spencer. You had thought he was just playing with your fear. It was your fault. âWhat have you done⊠you were right all along. Your sixth sense didnât leave you. Why haven't you gone to the police? Were you an accomplice now? Why havenât you told somebody? You could have saved himâŠâ The answer was simple. You hadnât been 100% sure. Hell until now you thought you imagined most of his weird behavior, were overthinking it, writing it off as anxiety.
Helplessly you wandered around towards your kitchen in the search for a bag. When you finally found one, you sank down against your cupboard. Taking deep breaths with the plastic bag to calm your breathing. After calming down and just sitting silently in your kitchen for 20 minutes, you got up and shut down the TV.
âYou couldnât go to the police, could you? What if they held you responsible for it because you didnât say anything until now. You didnât even know his last name or where he lived.âÂ
A dry and humorless laugh escaped you. Putting your face in your hand, trying to come to terms with reality. Finally you pushed your hair back and grabbed your phone.
Pondering if you should write back? Try to get information from him and go to the police? Could you get burned even more? Thinking for another minute you decided against it. Panic and anxiety controlled your actions. Your course of action was going in the complete opposite direction. Simply deleting the message. Deleting the evidence, deleting a small part of your guiltâ âout of sight out of mindâ
You didnât continue work that day, called in sick, went to bed and just stared aimlessly at the ceiling. Thinking about everything. About the concert, about every small detail you remembered. All the strange things you thought he did, but in the end you thought it was just your imagination.Â
This was so fucked up, why were you still alive and not locked up in some basement? Why were you still alive? He knew that you knew. By sending you that text, it almost seemed like he wanted you to know. It hardly made any sense to you. After hours and hours of thinking and getting a headache from it, you fell asleep rather exhausted.
Not even a day after you even changed your number, telling your friends and mom another lie. The excuse, you got too many spam calls on it, seemed to be good enough. You were that anxious that you were one step away from moving back into your mom's house. However you didn't want to exaggerate.
Everything you did, to feel secure didnât help. The anxiety remained. Whenever you went outside you felt like a scared mouse, always looking around, getting in your car and inside the office building as quickly as possible. At first you looked for a black van, then you remembered that stupid little you had the great idea to reveal to him what the profiler said. Of course he was not driving that van anymore. Perhaps now he drove around in a girly pink car.
âHow could you have been so stupid?â, you wanted to bang your head against the table. You even judged Lady Raven for her naivety and here you were telling the Butcher what car to not drive. What to look out for. You helped him even further, by not going to the police. He must have been laughing at you in his head. What a fucking joke. He also must have realized what effect he had on you, using that for his advantage. That for one you found him attractive, on the other hand you were intimidated by him. You were glad you were still alive, but it also made you nervous.
A month later and nothing new from the Butcher and no strange occurrences you finally started to relax again. Cooper and all that happened was slowly being pushed to the back of your head.Â
Furthermore, you moved out of your apartment. You felt spooked and unsafe in it. Living near your mom again gave you a small aspect of security back. Fortunately your workplace had a second office 20 min from your mom's apartment. You rented some transporter and with the help of your friends you moved your stuff into your new apartment within a day. Moving out helped your anxiety a lot.
Another month later, you started to go out with your friends again, didnât look around every time you left your apartment and became more yourself. Feeling confident. You were slowly going after your hobbies again. Running outside, Swimming, visiting your favorite coffee shop or reading in the park on a good day. All without turning around every few seconds.Â
Before you knew it about half a year had passed and it all was a mere memory. You hadnât had another panic attack in months. Your job was great, you met your friends a lot, also visited your mom every week and you could even listen to music with noise canceling headphones again. It felt normal. Back to how it was before. There was no news from the Butcher. No new Butcher victims, just some mom in a horrible car crash, but aside from that there was just the usual news.Â
It was around January, a Saturday, your birthday to be exact, where it began to get strange again. Even though it started out as every other birthday since you were 21. First brunch with your mum, having some good quality time in your favorite restaurant. After that, you went home again and around the evening your friends should arrive to go out. You should be around 10 people later. Normally you would just celebrate at home, but your best friend Simon wanted to party. Who were you to deny his wishes?
You had been Besties for ages, growing up with the same situation of a cheating parent, pushed you even closer together. It was only after high school where you went in different directions. Simon wanted to study, whereas you started working. There he met his better half Sebastian, theyâve been together ever since and when the three of you did something together they treated you like their child. Which you found hilarious. You loved them.
So a couple of friends were coming over and around midnight you would go dancing. When you arrived back at your apartment you noticed something strange. There was a small gift in front of your door. You looked around if you saw any of your neighbors before picking it up and unlocking your door.Â
It didnât seem to have a name anywhere. âStrange. Maybe it was from that elderly woman on the first floor?â, you wondered. You put it on your kitchen counter, saving it for later. Seeing as you had only a couple of hours left to clean and dress up. Also you needed your makeup done before simon came, or he would go way overboard with his ideas. You already agreed to let him do your hair and change your outfit, if it was âtoo boringâ.Â
That was another reason he wanted you to go out. Maybe you would finally find prince charming and you could go on cute double dates. In his opinion, your âno datingâ phase had been going on too long. Looking at yourself in the mirror you felt good. You decided to go with some short black pants, and a glittery black top with an open back.Â
By the time the others arrived you totally forgot about the present still laying wrapped on the kitchen counter. Friend after friend arrived, all of them overly punctual. Except for two individuals, as always. You didnât mind, it was only Lucas, a friend of Sebastian, with his girlfriend Mary. You didnât particularly like her, Mary needed to be in the spotlight, sometimes you felt like she tried to replace you in your friend group. None of the others saw this most of the time though. She was âlittle miss perfectâ. Well, except for Simon and Lizzy, they did see her other side sometimes. Â
Putting on some music after everybody sat down in the living room, you went back to the kitchen to help Simon with the last drinks. As Simon was putting away the cake he brought on the kitchen counter he saw the small present laying around. âWho is this from?â
You walked towards him to see what he ment. âOh, I actually donât know. I think one of my neighbors left it for me.â shrugging you picked it up.
âDo you know what's inside?â, You shook your head, now youâve done it. Simon loved a good mystery, something to solve, something thrilling.
âWell then, open it! Iâll get the rest of the drinks.â, he ushered you towards the living room where the others sat around your coffee table. Climbing over the back rest of your couch, you made yourself comfortable in the corner. Simon brought your drinks while you started to open the present. âWhat is it?â
âItâsâŠâ you frowned. Pulling out a simple small teddy bear, with something silver on top. It was made out of plastic, nothing overly special. It was a Keychain.
âI think thatâs something I could put on my keychain? Wait there's moreâŠâ There was something shiny at the bottom of the present.Â
âA braceletâ Oh, itâs really pretty.â You held it towards the light, it sparkled brightly. It was a simple silver bracelet, with a little charm in the center. A cute colorful flower.Â
âAww how cute. But it seems like it was more for a child? Are you sure your neighbors know your age?â Lizzy laughed and poked you. She was what you would consider your girl bestfriend.
âOr maybe they know that you still have stuffed animals in your bedâ,joked Simon and threw a pillow at him. âHey, be careful, my drink!â, he exclaimed with a feigned outrage. You flipped him off. It wasnât your fault that you could only go to sleep, while holding something in your arm.
âDonât pout, come Iâll put the bracelet on. Then we get you a tiara and youâll be a Disney princess.âLizzy grabbed the bracelet of your hand and put it on you.
âAnd put the keychain thing to your keychainââ, Marcus said as they all laughed at your embarrassment. You gave them a look.Â
âReally guys, do I have to?â, you whined.Â
âYes, give it to me, Iâll do it. You open the rest of our presents. I promise youâll like themâ, winked Simon and held out his hand. Reluctantly you gave him the key chain and started to open the other presents.
The other presents were way better. You got some games, wine and everybody plus your mom pitched in to buy you a new bike. They hid it in front of your door before. You had tears in your eyes as you thanked each of them. âYou had the best friendsâÂ
After eating the cake there was nothing to stop you guys from going all out. Drinking games, Beer pong, dancing or just talking. Later on, Lucas and his girlfriend arrived around 10. At this point everybody was in a good mood and slightly drunk. On seeing the bike, Mary was offended that they hadnât waited for them to give me my present.Â
You were about to tell her that it was your birthday, when some of the others already apologized to her. Telling her they didnât know when they would show up.Annoyed, you refilled your drink, and went back to the friends playing beer pong. You needed to get drunk more to be nice to her. She wasnât even here for 5 minutes and everything had to resolve around her.
The party got louder and better, all having a good time. Half an hour before you wanted to leave Mary came to you while dancing, grabbing your arm. âIs that the bracelet you got from your neighbor? The others told me about it. It's so cute. Can I try it on? I always wanted something like thisâŠâ, Mary asked you with her stupid baby voice. She immediately tried grabbing it off your arm.
âEhm, hey wait a second. Here, but I want back before we go.â, You didnât want any drama today. She nodded her head, waved you off and reassured you that you would get it back in a second.
You did, in fact, not get it back within a second and when you were standing in the queue to the club, you realized that she still had it on. Now it was too late.
Inside the club your friends surprised you, they booked a small area to sit with a table in the middle. Some drinks and bottles, waiting for you in the middle.Â
âGuys! You shouldnât have!â, you exclaimed happily.Â
âOnly the best for you Birthday girl!â Simon cheered! Hugging you tightly. Celebrating your birthday never felt better. You did a few shots and then most of you went off dancing to the dancefloor for the next hour.
Coming back from the dance floor you sat back down exhausted. Every time you went out you asked yourself the same question. âWhy did you even decide to wear heels today?â All of you started to get new drinks and someone suggested to spice things up and play an old fashioned âTruth or Dareâ. Without truth of course, because it was way too loud.
You loved these games, it was always fun to watch. Though you didnât like doing dares yourself, always feeling a bit shy and easily embarrassed. Now with the alcohol you did feel more comfortable. Maybe you would be up to do a dare. As if reading your thoughts Simon yelled at you over the table âY/Nâ.Â
You looked at him with pleading eyes, your confidence dwindling. âNoo.. PleaseâŠâ
âNo! Iâve waited enough. I dare you to go out there and make out with a stranger!â he exclaimed, pointing to the dance floor. Some of your friends whistled at that.Â
Not waiting for you to think about it Simon stood up. âDo you trust me? We go dancing and I promise I wonât let some creep near you. Only handsome guys?â He held out his hand. You thought about it. If not now, when would you ever do it? You needed to get over your own shadow. Quickly you emptied your glass. For the extra bit of confidence.
âPinky promise?â you asked, feeling bold suddenly and holding out your pinky. He looked surprised and instantly linked your pinky with his. âPromisee.â happily he dragged you to the dance floor.Â
âWhat's your age range? Still someone around your age?â Simon asked, wiggling his eyebrows.Â
You rolled your eyes at his behavior. âI donât know. He can be older⊠but not above 50!!â Simon pretended to be shocked at your revelation, holding his hand above his heart.Â
âOlder men! How scandalous!â, you jabbed his side.Â
âLet's go before I change my mind.â, you threatened. As you made your way on the dance floor they started to play one of your favorite songs âUnholyâ.
âAs information, Iâm going back as soon as I see you enjoy yourself. Iâm not watching a full make out session from you.â, he shouted in your ear. Laughing, you nodded. Fair enough, you wouldnât want to watch him make out with Sebastian either. Both of you started dancing to the music, stealing glances at the people around you.Â
More like Simon was looking around, whereas you tried not to think about the dare too much.Â
You felt the people dancing all around you. Swinging your hips and moving your arms around your body, you felt yourself getting lost in the music.Â
Simon and you danced yourself further into the crowd. Someone bumped against your ass, touching it. Before you could even react somebody else pushed that person away. It was not Simon, seeing as he was still dancing right before you. He raised a brow gesturing behind you. Mouthing the simple word âHotâ.
While dancing you turned your head slightly to look behind. You couldnât see much, all the flickering colorful lights made it hard to recognize anything. He was tall, broad shoulders and his hair seemed to be a bit longer. You continued dancing, Simon nodding at you. âFuck it. Simon better not be wrongâ You trusted his judgment. In the rhythm of the music, you danced backwards until you found yourself practically grinding your ass on him. He didn't move away, dancing in sync with you.
One of his hands placed itself on your hip, pulling you even more against him. You felt a sudden rush of confidence, as you continued swaying your ass against him and felt something hardened in his pants. It felt huge.Â
Using this confidence boost and as a confirmation you spun around, still dancing. âCould you do it?â Looking up at his face, sadly, the flashing lights still barely illuminated his face. Looking closer you could make out a few facial features. He also had a slight beard. Even without knowing his exact looks, you felt a certain pull towards him. âI bet he is handsomeâ You were not one to make the first move, but you were going to fulfill your dare.Â
âYou could do it. You looked fucking hot and you wouldn't see him ever again.â Dancing against him, his slight erection pressing against you, you took the initiative, steadying yourself with one hand at his shirt. 'Why wouldnât he take the first step? Why did the women need to take control in this situation?' Until now you were always the more experienced partner, so it was nothing new for you. Even though you would like some change. Him taking control, getting rough or just doing what he wants⊠Maybe you read too many dark romance books.
Slowly wandering with the other hand up his chest, resting it at his neck. Slightly you pulled his head towards you to push your lips onto him. His lips were rough. At first it was just you moving your mouth against his. You felt him putting away his drink on the high table next to you.Â
As he still did not reciprocate the kiss and for a second you thought that you read the signs wrong. At least you fulfilled your dare. However as soon as you broke the kiss and stepped back, he roughly grabbed your face, pulling you back into him. Surprised by the sudden force of his grip, a small yelp escaped you, before he silenced it with a kiss. The action instantly sent a warm fuzzy feeling down to your core.Â
Kissing you hard, your mouths moved in sync. His large hand on the side of your face kept your head in place. You winced slightly when he bit your lip, but he hardly seemed to notice. He tried to slip his tongue between your lips, but you denied it.Â
Trying to gain control of the kiss and situation. You heard a low grumble from him, he seemed discontented with your attitude. You smirked against his lips, which seemed to annoy him further. Moving his hands down your body, he grabbed your ass, hard. The pain going straight into your core, making you moan into his mouth. He seized the opportunity to slip his tongue inside your mouth.Â
This time you didnât even try to get the upper hand, you liked that he was in control. Finally someone who was more dominant in these things. Giving you the time to explore this new, more submissive side. Letting go of your face he moved his hand down your body. Over your chest, stomach and finally resting at your hips, pulling you against him. Goosebumps traveled all over your body, where his hands touched you. Your brain felt dazed, this was the hottest makeout session you ever had. You didnât care about his roughness or the biting, you rather liked it.
When he broke the kiss you were both panting heavily. Slowly, almost teasing, he traced his fingers up your spine before grabbing you by your hair and tilting your head upwards to look at him. Your mouth parted slightly, a small moan escaped your lips. It stung where he had his grip on your hair, but the slight pain turned you on even more. Sure you knew you liked reading about these kinds of things, but experiencing them made you feel even more aroused. Â
For a split second, you thought you saw his panting expression change into a smirk. Before you could think twice, he kissed you again. Your mind instantly went blank, his kiss was like a drug. This kiss was slower, still rough but he set the tone. Moving his lips against yours, pushing his hand between your legs. You felt hot, everything felt way too hot to bear, never had you been kissed with such passion. You needed to be closer to him. You tried running your hands down his body.Â
He removed his hands in an instant, grabbing yours and pushing them back to your sides. You let out a small whine. âWhat was going on with you? You never whined. You felt like a schoolgirl, making out for the first timeâ Shaking his head disapprovingly, he turned away to grab his drink. Taking a sip, he held it near your lips, offering it to you. âItâs just water.â
You knew you shouldnât drink from strangers, though you were way too drunk to think straight or even logically. âYou wanted to keep making out and if that helped?â Looking up at him you tilted your head forward against the glass and emptied the whole glass. You didnât even realize how thirsty you were, and a glass of water seemed like a good option.
âGood girl.â, you heard his deep voice beside your ear. The loud music was making it hard to hear him clearly. The praise went straight to your core. He put his drink away and you began dancing to the music. More like grinding on each other.Â
He still didnât allow you to touch him much and you wanted nothing more than to travel your hands up and down on his body, or under his shirt. He leaned down, grabbing your hips to press you against him. Pressing his hard crotch against your lower stomach, making you inhale a sharp breath. Â
âCan I get your number?â his deep voice mumbled against your ear. You pondered. It felt like he was growling. Slowly he began caressing your ear, gently kissing his way to your neck, making you close your eyes, leaning your head back to give him better access. Your legs were feeling weak. Running his thumb along your jawline, he sucked and bit in your neck, as he kissed his way back to your ear.Â
âPlease?â his voice was a low growl against your ear. Your eyes fluttered open again as you nodded, desire filled your body. You would do anything, if he kept going on like this.Â
He kissed you softly this time and you bit his lip as he tried ending the kiss. You wanted to kiss him longer. You missed his warmth already, and also missed the dark look flashing up in his eyes. He pulled his phone out, tipping something before handing it to you. As you grabbed his phone, you felt yourself wobble to the side. Luckily he grabbed you in time and stadied you against his body. Now your back was pressed against his front.
You thought about grinding your butt against him, but as if sensing your thoughts he nudged you towards his phone. Looking at the screen, it was truly hard to concentrate for you. He kept sidetracking you by placing soft kisses on your neck.
Blinking rapidly you slowly made out the numbers. Your vision seemed a bit blurry, your eyes feeling so heavy. âYou didnât even drink that muchâ After what felt like hours you successfully put in your number. As soon as you were done, he grabbed his phone back.
You were so drunk that you didnât notice the contact already had a name. - Sweetheart - Turning back to him you nearly lost your balance, falling against his chest. His arm wrapped around your side, steadying you as he began walking you through the crowd of dancing people. You found it so difficult to keep your balance, you felt funny. You couldnât seem to focus, everything stayed a bit blurred. You didnât even know where he took you. Was he taking you home?
âHey, sorry to bother you guys.â, he loudly said to someone over the music as he came to a stop. You leaned your face against his shoulder. You were really tired.
âYou are her friends, right? I think someone put something in her drink, one minute she was fine and the next she could barely stand.â Your brows furrowed, âdrugged? You were fine⊠when should that have happened? Didnât those drugs work way quicker?â Shocked gasps filled the air.Â
âI thought I would bring her back to you, so you can get her home.â He had such a calming and sympathetic voice. âWhy would he bring you back? You were having fun.â You playfully bit him in his chest, making him tighten his grip on your hip. His lips pressed in a firm line.
âYes, yes she is our friend. Oh fuck. Thank you so much man!â Four hands grabbed you off the stranger you were leaning onto. You pouted.
âNo-o I donât wa- want toâ, your voice slurred, you sounded like a brat. Struggling against their grip, not wanting to leave his side, but they were stronger than you. Also your fight wasn't really that much of a fight as you thought, you could hardly stand straight. You didnât even knew his name. His jaw clenched as he looked towards you and the two holding you, his eyes lingered on the arm of the girl.
âYes yes, hopefully you got his number.â, said a high pitched female voice near your ear. It sounded like Mary. You looked around, it was Lucas and Mary who supported you. âWhy those two?â
âWhy didnât you tell me you liked older men?â Giggling, you shrugged your shoulders.
âHe is so fine, maybe I should talk to him too.â Mary whispered in your ear. âWhat about her boyfriend?â
âWell, thanks again man, Iâm Simon, her best friend. Weâre taking her home asap, before something happensâŠâ he began, as Lucas and Mary led you away. He gestured for them to stop, but they didnât look back. Thus you couldnât hear the rest of the conversation play out. It was a good thing. Drugged or not, your subconsciousness would have freaked out sooner or later.
âNo problem Simon. It is what everybody would have done. Call me Cooper.â, he held his hand out for him to shake, which Simon gladly accepted.
âNah, I donât think so. Some sick fuck, may have taken advantage of her in a state like that. So thank you Cooper.. Shit, I just wanted her to have a good time on her birthday.â
âDonât be too hard on yourself Simon. I was glad I could help. Wish her a happy birthday from me, I hope she feels better in the morning.â Simon nodded, turning around to talk with the others and Cooper soon vanished in the crowd. Slowly your friends started to follow the three of you back to the entrance of the club.Â
âHey, Y/N you stay here and wait. Lucas and I get the jackets. Just hold onto the handrail of the stairs or sit down. You can stand on your own for a bit, canât you? âshe asked, concerned and something different in her voice. You gave her a thumbs up before holding onto the railing again.Â
âWe will hurry as best as we can, the others should be here soon.â She came closer, whispering in your ear.Â
âAlso you can stop your show now. Yes itâs your birthday, but do you need that much attention?â, with that she and lucas made her way to the coat check waiting line.Â
You let your head fall back as you take deep breaths. âShow? What show?â Deeply breathing in the fresh air that was coming from the entrance. Few people were walking past you either coming in or leaving the club. Still it was hard concentrating on anything, but you were doing okay.
Until you werenât. All of a sudden you felt something against your back and in the next moment you lost your footing and along with the grip on the handrail and flew down the stairs. Instinctively your body tried not to hit the ground face first. For that you turned around to face the top of the stairs. âWas there a man?â you thought. Blinking once whoever you thought you saw was gone, just panicked bystanders. Did you hear Simon?
Your side painfully crashed first into the stairs, then continuing falling further down the stairs. You tried your best to stop or push yourself up, but failed. Someone behind you grabbed your arm to stop you. The only thing it brought you was, that you landed on your foot, with your butt while also twisting it in a painful way.Â
(A/N: You know, I thought about it, Leaving you hanging right here. However a)Â I should not end all my chapters the same, you could get bored and b) Iâm not evil.)
Pain shot up from your foot, as your tears began to form in your eyes. âFuck, Y/N.â Simon and Sebastian seemed next to you in mere seconds. Carefully they lifted you off the ground and gently removed your foot from under you. It hurt like hell.
âIs she alright?â, one of the bouncers came towards you from the entrance, having heard the commotion.Â
âHey, can you move your foot?â Simon asked. You gave it a try, whining instantly. Crying even more you shook your head, your brain was way too foggy to come up with a smart ass reply.Â
âWhere were you?â yelled an otherwise rather quiet Simon.Â
âGetting our jackets...â began Mary.
âShe was drugged and you left her alone? Are you serious Mary?â Lizzy yelled too, her face enraged.
âHow do we know she really was drugged? Maybe she just played it to get away from that man?â Mary suggested in an annoyed tone.Â
âWhat the fuck? Did you look at her? Does she seem like a normal drunk to you? You have seen her drunk before, but never like this!â, came Lizzy's angry reply.
âAlso from what I saw in the beginning, she sucked his fucking face off! Didnât seem like she hated it.â Simon countered.Â
âWhy did you even leave her alone in the first place? None of this would have happened! Lucas you have no brain of your own anymore?â, Sebastian joined their yelling. The statement made Lucas' face turn the darkest shade of red.Â
âFucking pathetic. Lets get her to the emergency room, someone order an uber?âSimon turned around angrily, and he and Lizzy helped you up. Each of them supported you as you hobbled down towards the streets. The way from the Club to the ER was gone in a blur. You couldnât remember most of it. One minute you were leaving the club and in the next you laid on a bed in the ER. âHow did you get here?â
You looked around for your friends, but the room was empty besides Simon who was sitting next to your bed with a worried expression. Your head felt clearer, you cleared your throat.
âSo what did the doctor say, Simon? What's the damage?â, better get it over with.
âWell.. bad news first. You have a bruised foot and a hyperextended ligament. As a consequence you have to wear a bandage and walk on crutches for the next month at least.â
You sighed. It seemed like he wasnât even finished with the bad news yet. Â
âYou also got a few bruises on your arms, legs and back. Buut the Good newsâ they've given you something to counteract the effects of the drugs, but you'll probably still have to sleep it off, to fully feel better.â
âBetter?â you laughed âI feel like Iâve been hit by a truck. Anything is better than this..â
âI know..â he said as he patted your head. âListen, they want to keep you here overnight, but just call me in the morning and we will pick you up and drive you home, ok?â
Defeated, you nodded, he squeezed your hand and left soon after. Leaving you alone in the empty room. The rest of the night was uneventful. The nurses checking up on you from time to time, bringing you more water. Sadly they also woke you up at 6 to check your vitals again and give you painkillers. After one final talk with the doctor, getting instructions from him for the next weeks and your crutches, you were ready to go home.Â
As promised Simon picked you up, he even cleaned your apartment from you and forbade you from helping. He was too kind. He even made Sebastian shop some groceries for you, which he brought over. So you didnât need to stress about that for the next couple of days. About two hours later they left, telling you to call if you needed something.Â
You never had a wild birthday like that before, but somehow trouble seemed to find you. It was just a small consolation that nothing had happened to you the last months.
Still exhausted, you laid back on the couch, still in your yesterday's outfit. Closing your eyes as you enjoyed the silence. The ping of your phone ringing loud through the quietness of your apartment. You grabbed your phone and held it above your face. It was from Simon, he left not even a minute ago. Did he forget something? You opened your Phone.
â I totally forgot to tell you something. I meant to wish you a happy birthday from the man from the club last night. He also wished for you to get well soon. â
A second message followed.
â You remember? The one you made out with? He said his name was Cooper. â
CooperâŠYou knew that name. There was only one person that came to your mind with that exact name. Alarm Bells were going off in your head, but whatever they gave you in the hospital was working. You werenât shaking or panicking, you were rather calm, what confused you.Â
That couldnât be true, no. Surely you would have recognized him, even in the dim light of the club. It wasnât that dark, was it? You rested your phone on your chest and began thinking about last night. Trying to remember, you realized that reconstructing the evening would be way harder than you thought. There were a lot of gaps in your memories and many were quite foggy. Perhaps it was because of the drugs mixed in your drink.
Sighing you closed your eyes, attempting to recollect what the stranger looked like. He was tall, had a small beard, you didnât remember his eye or hair color, but his hair was a bit longer? You were unsure. You remembered his large hands on your body, holding your head in place while kissing you. He was strong for sure.Â
âThink straight!â you warned yourself, already starting to feel hot again. Just thinking about it still turned you on. âIf that was Cooper, the man from that concert. You were fucked.âÂ
You tried to arrange your thoughts. Yes, you made out with him, a serial killer, and you liked it, you felt disgusted. âYou didnât know it was him. Why would he even be there? The possibility was close to zeroâ Suddenly you remembered something.Â
Didnât you drink from his drink? Of course you were drunk before, but after that everything went downhill. Recalling how super drunk and tired you felt soon afterwards. It would all make sense.
Except⊠Why did he bring you back to your friends then? Perhaps it was a weird coincidence?Â
Maybe you should ask Simon if his name was really Cooper. Maybe he misunderstood? That looked like a good option. Opening your phone, you started to answer Simon as a new message came in.Â
It was from an unknown number. A simple: â Happy Birthday Sweetheart. â
It couldnât be, you changed your number. Not many people called you that and you faintly remember Cooper calling you like that. Before you could wonder about it more, a second message from the same number appeared. What you read then made your heart freeze in fear, your pulse increased and hands started shaking, which made reading the message harder.
â You know, you were always nervous and so easily startled, like a cute little doe. Constantly on alert and looking around, to run away, at the slightest noise. Though if there were a little accident to happen. Where will you go now little doe, if you canât even run? â
(A/N: nvm i am evil)

-The Benders
-Sam is tickled by Dean calling him a grandma for wanting to leave the bar early. He likes Deanâs attention.
-Dean loses Sam immediately after he promises nothing bad will happen to him as long as heâs around. Tbf Sam went into the parking lot unsupervised so this is on him
-Sam wakes up in a cage absolutely certain that his brother is looking for him and immediately starts doing his part investigating and breaking shit. I love him more than life
-Sam and Dean have matching realizations
-Sam yells at Jenkins not to call him Sammy
-the way they look at each other when Dean shows up. Itâs giving light of my life fire of my loins
-âHey! Be careful,â Sam tells Dean before he goes to look for the key. More of him worrying about Dean. More of me imagining little Sammy fretting over Dean before a hunt saying Dean wait be careful Dean donât forget the rock salt Dean try to come home before midnight Dean-
-Dean chooses for Sam to be the one let out of the cage and hunted because he thinks heâll be able to get away. He thinks Sam is the cutest thing alive but also that heâs extremely capable and dangerous.
-Dean tells Sam never to go missing again and Sam grins and says âyou were worried about me,â as if this is surprising somehow. Either heâs just flirting or heâs basking in this evidence of Deanâs affection.
It must be unusual for Dean to worry about Sam in this context- not knowing where he is, thinking heâs in danger for an extended period of time. Sam is used to worrying about Dean while heâs off hunting.
Dean says âYou vanish like that again Iâm not looking for youâ and Sam says âsure you willâ still smiling. He trusts that Dean will do anything to protect him and I wonder how aware he is that heâs got Dean wrapped around his finger. Not aware enough.

Ooh I just read the other part to the baby Jamie tartt story and it was amazing!! What about where itâs beaâs first soccer game and the team shows up and Jamie is just a proud dad or sheâs 2 or 3 watching her dad play and cheering super loud and getting into it!?!
Heyyo! Mixed this with another ask. It was fun to write! Thank you!
todayâs a day like any other
Bea is two years old and five months, and sheâs at the age where she is talking in sentences and can understand things that are happening around her. She makes little two-year-old jokes that only she understands, and her favorite person in the whole entire world is Sam Obisanya.Â
You have a picture of her at her second birthday party, pointing at something while Sam holds her, both in matching Obisanya 24 kits. She canât read, but she knows enough to tell that the markings are the same. She wears it every day itâs clean, and some days itâs not. You think itâs hilarious because Jamie has to cajole her into wearing her Baby Tartt 9 kit.Â
Jamie is her second favorite person. She calls him âdada,â and shrieks whenever he comes home from training. Both of you are in your mid-twenties now, and you get stares whenever youâre out with her. The press is still the press, but they keep Beaâs face out of it when they speculate how long Jamie will keep âplaying house,â or you will âput up with his antics.â They comment on young marriage and early divorce, and you and Jamie make the choice to laugh through it.Â
He calls Ted about once a week for advice on marriage and fatherhood, and Rebecca stops by for lunch for you and Bea twice a week to give you advice on marriage and encourage you in motherhood. Bea adores her, almost as much as she does Sam. Almost.Â
Rebecca had been hesitant at first to share, but once you said, âIâm pretty sure you know what red flags I should look for,â she laughed and went full steam ahead.Â
All that to say, Beaâs favorite people are Sam, Jamie, and you, in exactly that order. (You could rank the rest of the team, but honestly itâs pretty close between some of them and they donât need that type of competition.)Â
Bea is two years old and five months, and she is at yet another football match, wearing her Obisanya 24 jersey and bouncing up and down in your arms. Youâre three months along with your son name undisclosed so you can still hide it, but youâre wearing one of Jamieâs kits as opposed to your own. You put tiny lines of red and blue face paint on Bea and are standing up in Rebeccaâs box, pointing things out to Bea. You point to a tiny Sam on the pitch, and Bea starts yelling, âSam, Sam, Sam!â He canât hear her, of course, but heâs looking around and smiling. The stadium is chanting, âGo, Sam Obisanya,â and Bea picks it up. You see Jamie nudge Sam and point up to where youâre sitting and Sam waves. Bea waves back, giggling.
âBea, do you see Dada?â you ask. Jamieâs face is on the big screen, and she wiggles even harder. Sheâs practically vibrating in your arms. You think this might be the first game she actually understands enough to remember. You spend the first half narrating the game to her- âSee, Sam has the ball. Heâs trying to get it to Dada. Oh look, there he goes. Do you think heâs going to pass it?âÂ
Bea is watching intently as Jamie zips by player after player. You see him fake out Wolverhamptonâs last line of defense and then the stadium erupts. Heâs scored the first goal of the game.Â
Bea is yelling her head off and bouncing again. Jamie looks up to where he knows you are an blow a kiss, which only makes Bea lose it more.Â
On the drive home, all she can talk about is how âdada got a goal,â and âdada is my favorite.â
âÂ
Bea is seven years old and one month, and she is very adamant that she wants to play football. Her friends are all playing, plus sheâs Beatrice frickenâ Tartt. Isnât football in her blood?
You and Jamie tried to talk her out of it, not wanting her to feel like she had to. She insisted.
So there you are on a Saturday morning, seven months pregnant (yes, again thanks to goddamn Jamie Tartt) getting ready to cheer Bea on in her first match of the season.Â
Her kit says Tartt 24 because of course it does. The teams are doing little stretches to get ready, so you smile and reach down to get a juice for four-year-old Theo (no, you donât call him Ted) out of the cooler Jamie brought.Â
âEyy, itâs the Tartts!â says a voice. You look up to a grinning Dani.Â
âDani! What are you doing here?â you ask, grinning back.
âCouldnât miss my favorite nieceâs first match, could I? And I heard you had drinks,â he says, peering into the cooler.Â
You laugh and someone else says, âlet me know whatâs in the cooler, bruv.â You turn, and thereâs Isaac, Colin, and Michael. Dani waves to someone across the field, and itâs Sam, Jan Maas, Richard, and Bumbercatch. Royâs Jeep screeches into the parking lot, and you see him get out followed by a flurry of pink. Of course itâs Keeley.Â
âI hope Iâm not late,â says another voice, and Bea runs up to say âAunt Bex!â and does a flying leap at Rebecca.Â
All of Beaâs uncles are here, minus Ted and Beard, to support her at her first game.Â
You think you might cry.
Jamie, on the other hand, is looking extremely proud of himself.Â
Bea is showing of her number 24, Sam is grinning proudly, Richard, Isaac, and Jan Maas are hyping her up, and Dani is doing arm curls with Theo hanging onto his wrist.Â
Jamie slides his arm around your waist and presses a kiss to your neck.Â
âJamie Tartt,â you say, âdid you invite all of them?â
Jamie grins. âI mightâve.â
âThat might be the sweetest thing youâve ever done. It might even make me not mad at you anymore.â
Jamie pulls away a little, indignant. âWhatâre you mad at me for? I havenât done anything!â
You point to your stomach and say, âOh really, then what do you call this?â
Jamie fixes you with a devilish grin. âProof that Iâm still fucking sexy?â
You giggle like a teenager. He is definitely still fucking sexy.Â
The game is filled with wild cheers from Beaâs aunts and uncles, especially when she performs a header.Â
âI taught her that,â Roy says to anyone who will listen.Â
They swarm her on the field after the gameâs over, uncaring if sheâs won or lost. It doesnât matter. They donât all play for Richmond anymore, but they will always be a family.Â
â
Bea is sixteen years old when she causually mentions a boy named Thomas in one of her classes. Youâre all at the dinner table and Jamie doesnât clock it, but you do.Â
Jamie is only a few years out from retirement. Heâs around the age Roy was when Roy hurt his knee, and although heâs still tearing it up on the pitch, you both know his time is coming to a close.Â
Heâs a lot sadder than he lets on, but you remind him thereâs more to life. Your family has become somewhat famous, even in the States, so heâll still have opportunities to do what he loves. Just not with the League. Itâs become a bit of a routine, at this point, having the same conversation at the end of ever season.Â
Just one more, Jamie promises, One more and then Iâll retire. You just hope he isnât forced to by an injury.
But anyway, Beaâs got her eye on a boy and Jamie is completely oblivious until you bring it up that night while getting ready for bed. Heâs flossing his teeth and your putting lotion on your face.Â
âShe fuckinâ what?â Spit goes flying.Â
âJamie, thatâs disgusting. Please wipe that up.â
Jamie grabs a towel and swipes at the mirror. âHow dâyou know? It could just be a friend. Sheâs too young to be thinking like that!â
You smile. Beaâs a very thoughtful girl. Youâre pretty sure she timed the name-drop with great precision and care, testing the waters.Â
Sheâs a lot like you.Â
âBabe, I just know. And, not sure if youâve noticed, but sheâs not seven anymore. Plus, Iâve seen Thomas around. Heâs a very bright, respectful young man. Beaâs got a good head on her shoulders.â
Jamie pales, not listening to a thing you said. He grabs your hand. âBabe. Babe. Think about what I was like. Fucking hell, I was an absolute wanker. Oh fuck. This is not fucking good.â
Heâs spiraling. Heâs spiraling about his oldest daughter and itâs adorable. His hair is all crazy from running his hands through it, and his eyes are wild. You know what Jamie was like. You met a toned-down version of him, and youâre pretty sure he wouldnât want Bea even near someone like that. Youâve heard the stories of how he was before.Â
âJaim,â you say, âitâs going to be ok. Seriously.â
âYou donât understand,â he says, hands now on your face. âI was an absolute shithead. I was rude and a fucking dick. I didnât treat women well, or anyone well, and I donât want Bea with someone like me.â
You understand. Youâre not minimizing his concerns or apathetic about Bea, itâs just that you know the daughter youâve raised, and you tell Jamie as much. âI know this is new for us, but sheâs wonderful. And anyway, itâs not like sheâs going to end up like me, twenty-two and knocked up.â
âWe were married!â Jamie protests, âAnd twenty-two is like being a real adult!â
You raise an eyebrow. âWe were barely married. And we were basically kids.âÂ
Jamie still looks distraught, so you place your hands on his wrists.Â
âDarling, donât worry. Sheâll be ok. We made it this far being stupid, and sheâs so much smarter than either of us.â
Jamie snorts, which you take as a victory.Â
âAnd anyway,â you continue, âany boy that breaks her heart has like a million of her scary uncles to deal with. I promise, promise, promise sheâll be alright.â
Jamie smiles at that. âShe does, doesnât she?â He kisses the tip of your nose. âSuppose itâs a good thing you didnât have any of those, otherwise we might not have gotten together.â
You laugh. âAlright, you sentimental dweeb. Itâs past your bedtime.â
âJust one more kiss,â Jamie replies, and then his lips are on yours and you forget what you were even talking about, anyway.Â

Christmas With Her
Paring: Sam Carpenter x Fem!Reader
Warnings: none
Summary: set in the same universe as my Back To You au. It's your first Christmas back in the city and Sam decided to go all out for your short visit back
Getting the news that you were coming back for Christmas Sam quickly decided that she had to make this the best Christmas ever! She knew how important Christmas was to you and you coming back was a big deal that she started putting up decorations to make the apartment a little more festive for your arrival. She knew the Christmas before she left wasn't your best and she has always had it in the back of her mind that she wanted to make that up to you. Now was her chance.
"Sam, don't you think this is too much," Tara motioned to the decorations that covered the house. "She's only here for three days." She said pointedly.
The short time you were here made Sam frown but she covered it back with a smile. "Yes it's only three days but I still want those three days to be the best for her." She said. "Christmas hasn't always been easy for Y/N and I want to make this one the best."
Driving into the city you couldn't help but completely relax at the realization of finally being here. It wasn't a super long drive back but it was long enough for you to be tired and ready for a nap. However this also fueled your excitement for seeing Sam again. Yes you guys call and FaceTime but that's so much different from actually seeing her in person again. She's also the only reason why you're even excited about this holiday and that definitely has to count for something.
Driving for the last few hours you should have been exhausted but the minute you pulled into the parking lot of the familiar apartment complex you felt all the sleep exist your body and you just felt more awake then ever right now.
Stepping out of your car you held a two bags filled with gifts as you made your way up to the door and knocked twice. It wasn't even thirty seconds before the door opens and your pulled into a bear hug by Sam. She said nothing as she repeatedly kissed your face. You giggled but let her continue until she decided to stop on her own.
"Sam stop eating her face and let Y/N come in." Tara teased.
Sam giggled but let you go to walk inside. Your eyes grew wide when you saw how decorated the small apartment was. The decorations were super fancy but they were lovely and they reminded you of home before everything went bad. It was beautiful.
"Oh Sam the apartment looks beautiful! I wish I could have been here to decorate." You said awestruck.
Sam moves next to you and holds your hand. "Hopefully next year we'll be together and then we can decorate together." She said. You smiled at her when she said. "I would absolutely love that."
With this being the first time you guys have seen each other physically in two months you and Sam decided to enjoy each other's company to the fullest. You were both cuddled on the couch with your fingers locked together as you and Sam made small talk on the couch. The conversation wasn't deep but it was meaningful to you. You liked these kinds of conversations because it showed you a more fun side to Sam. She is usually so serious so when you two just got to cuddle and talk about random things you definitely cherished them.
"So what do you do on Christmas morning? Like what's your perfect day?" Sam asked.
You smiled as you thought about it. "We wake up early to make breakfast and we eat together while watching those cheesy Christmas movies," you laughed. "Then we open gifts! All while singing Christmas songs - you'll hate it at first but you'll soon find yourself loving it because you're having so much. Then we eat dinner together and spend the rest of the day just enjoying our time together." You told her. "It would be perfect."
Sam saw the look of excitement in your eyes and she knew that she was about to make this Christmas perfect for you. She, in her mind, still felt like she needs to make it up to you. Like she has to keep fixing what she broke all those years ago. She wants to show you that your relationship is serious to her and that she truly does love you. This relationship is not one sided and she hopes that making this the best Christmas ever can show you that. She has to make tomorrow perfect
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Waking up very early Sam slowly climbed out of bed and tip toed to the kitchen to make sure she had everything she needs to make French toast. She knew it was your favorite when you were kids so she's really hoping that that's still true because she would feel horrible if she got it wrong. That would be a sucky way to start Christmas.
"Sam what are you doing up so early?" Tara asked as she steps into the kitchen.
Sam continued checking ingredients that she had. "Making sure I have everything to make French toast with." She muttered out. Tara was confused by that. "But you hate French toast." She comments. "Why would you want to make it for breakfast?" She asked.
Sam smiled to herself when she thought about you. "Y/N loves it and I want to start Christmas Day with her favorite breakfast. So I really need to make sure I have everything to make it the way she loves." She explains. "It has to be perfect."
Waking up you frowned when you noticed that Sam was not next to you. Sitting up you slowly got out of bed and made your way out of the room. The smell of French toast hit your nose and you smiled as you walked toward the kitchen. You didn't say anything as you watched Sam cook breakfast while singing to herself. You smiled when you remembered that she used to do that back when you were kids. You have always loved Sam's voice and that's something that will never change.
"Baby?"
Sam turns around to smile at you. "Baby I'm so glad you're up! Breakfast will be ready soon." She said. You walked up behind her and gently wrapped your arms around her as you watched her cook. This was something that you used to do a lot before Christina caught you and it forced you to stop showing affection to Sam in public because you didn't want Sam to face her mother's fury again. However now things are different and you can show her all the love and affection you want without being scolded.
"I never asked, but is French toast still your favorite?" Sam asked.
You nodded as you moved to stand next to her. "It's the only good memory I have from my childhood. Us eating French toast together on the weekend. Watching whatever random thing was on TV." You said. Sam laughed "remember when we came across that really bad shark movie! We both wanted to change the channel but it was so ridiculously bad that we kind of got stuck watching it to see how it ended." She said. You laughed loudly at the memory. "Yes! Oh it was so bad that I can't believe it went on to have five sequels!" You exclaimed. Sam shook her head. "They were so bad."
Once breakfast was done you and Sam sat at the table with Tara and the twins there bickering about some new horror movie that had come out. Neither you or Sam really cared for horror movies but you found the conversation interesting considering how heated debates between Tara and Mindy got.
"I don't agree that all B horror movies are bad movies. There are a lot of good ones out there." Tara said.
Mindy scoffs "yeah, like a handful! Most of them are poorly written torture films with little to no plot to keep the film interesting." She argues. This caused them to argue over which movies were actually good and which ones were just had great kills but a terrible story. This conversation was never ending.
The afternoon came fast and you were all sitting around getting ready to open presents. The gifts you got from Tara and the twins were amazing. Yes Mindy gave you joke socks but you absolutely loved them. Chad gave you a coffee maker since yours broke last month and Tara got you three new journals because she knows how much you love to write. The gifts were amazing and you were happy that they loved everything you got them.
Sam sat a little off to the side with one gift in her hand because it was the only one she had to save up for. Her heart was beating fast in her chest as she slowly moves closer to you. "It's not much but I saw it one day when I was out and it reminded me of you so I saved up and was finally able to get it last week." She said quickly. "I really hope you like it."
You smiled as you took her gift and slowly unwrapped it. You gasped when you saw the raindrop diamond that you had when you were younger. Your grandma gave you hers and you absolutely loved it. You wore it everyday until your mom stole it from you and pawned it for money to give to her boyfriend. It was nearly identical to your original one.
"Baby... I love it. It's so beautiful." You said as you leaned in to kiss her. "Thank you."
Sam smiles as she helps you put it on. She was so happy that you liked it because she was extremely worried that you'd hate it, but you didn't and that made her completely relax.
"I hope you guys don't mind but I went all out on getting you guys gifts. I wanted our first Christmas together to be special." You said softly.
Everyone pulled you into a group hug and told you that it would have been perfect no matter what. You being here with them was what was making it special and that had you smiling like a fool at that. It really warmed your heart at how welcoming everyone was. It was amazing.
Spending the last few hours cooking you have never laughed as much in your life as you did today. The last few years you were completely dreading the holiday but this year, spending it with them, had you excited to see what next year bought you.
"Baby do you remember that recipe for that cake you used to love?" Sam asked. "Tara wanted to make it because we have everything here but she just needs the recipe," she adds.
You thought for a moment as you tried to remember everything that your grandma used to put in. It was a fairly simple cake but she did things a certain way and that's what you needed to remember.
"I know everything but she did things a certain way and that's what makes this cake so special." You said as you walked away with Tara behind you.
Sitting on the couch you and Tara looked through one of your notebooks with recipes from your grandma. They were everything you used to love eating that she would make for you. It was bringing back memories of you with your grandma in the kitchen cooking some meal that she thought up. It was always an incredible time when you were with her and just the thoughts alone made you smile.
It made Sam smile at how easily you could make everyone around you happy. It was the thing she loves the most about you because whenever she's been upset you were always there to make her smile and just cheer her up. Even when things fell apart you were there making her laugh and forget for just a moment. She'll never be able to repay you for everything you did for her. She is forever grateful for you.
Sitting around the table there was nothing but happiness and laughter as you and the core four shared stories. Yes some were embarrassing but that's what made them the more fun to share. Dinner was delicious and very well made. Sam kept glancing at you and smiling as she kept your hands locked together.
You could tell that Sam was the most happy she's been in a while and it was an honor to you that you were able to be apart of why she was so happy right now. It made your heart swell to see Sam happy and you would do anything to keep her smiling forever.
With the night winding down you and Sam snuck off to the bedroom for some alone time together. You both sat on her bed as she held another small gift in her hands.
"I wanted to wait until we were alone to give this one to you." She said softly. "It's something that only you and I will know the meaning behind."
You kissed her softly before pulling away to open the gift. Your eyes grew wide when you saw the silver bracelet with your name and Sam's name on it. "Did you recreate our friendship bracelets from when we were kids?" You asked. "Sam that is so sweet!"
You leaned forward and kissed Sam again. This kiss was deeper and much more passionate then the last few you've shared today. Sam could feel the love you were pouring into the kiss and she gave you back the same amount. It was a kiss that told you both everything you needed to know. Your love was real and you both were excited to see where the future takes you. Today was perfect and filled with memories that neither of you could wait to share with your future family. Although Sam was very nervous things turned out way better than she could have hoped for and it filled her heart with happiness to know that your first Christmas with her was absolutely perfect. It was incredible.

It wasnât the best job in the world, but as part-time work went, Dean knew it could be a hell of a lot worse than this. He worked with his dad in the garage during the day and worked four nights a week and two shifts at the weekend in Shurleyâs Sports Bar. His wages and tips went to his dad to help pay for Sammyâs education. Sure, the kid had a full ride to Stanford; however, he still needed to pay for accommodation after freshman year and the thousands of books he needed for his coursework. And at least this way, his dad didnât put himself in an early grave by working all the hours God gave him. Lord knows heâd done enough of that when they were kids.
Shurleyâs was a decent bar. It had a prime location between the University of Kansas campus and downtown, so it always has a steady stream of customers. It quietened during the summer when the students went home or on their travels, but the locals still made trade steady enough. The owner, Chuck, was a bit of a dick, but he barely showed his face around the place, and the other staff were decent, making it a great place to work.
âHey, Dean,â Y/N said as she came out of the back office. Y/N was the bar manager and a great girl. They had a lot in common; both lost their mothers when they were young and looked after their younger siblings while their fathers worked three jobs to try and make ends meet. Y/Nâd had to drop out of college when her father took unexpectedly sick, having to take care of him and her little sister. Now that her father had passed and her sister had a full ride to another prestigious college, Harvard, Y/N lived in the tiny apartment above the bakery where she worked four days a week and in the bar four nights a week and every Saturday night. The rest of the time, she studied part-time to finish her college education and sent every spare cent she had to her sister in Boston.
âHey, Y/N,â he smiled at her. She was pretty, too, and Dean wasnât afraid to admit that he had a massive crush on her. Not that anything would ever happen because she was her, and he was⊠well, he wasnât good enough for a girl like that. âHow are ya, sweetheart?â
âIâm good, Dean. How are you? Oh! Did you manage to get Samâs apartment sorted?â Y/N asked, and he smiled that sheâd remember such a thing.
âYeah, itâs all good now. We managed to get the rest of the deposit together,â Dean said. âThanks for the extra shifts, by the way.â
âDonât mention it,â Y/N smiled. âI still canât believe landlords can actually do that,â Y/N shook her head as she headed behind the bar and started filling the refrigerators with bottles of beer and wine to prepare for the busy Friday night shift.
âYeah, us either. But itâs done, and he has somewhere to live,â Dean said as he put the last menus and condiment buckets on the tables. âWhat needs to be done next, boss?â he asked, smirking when Y/N chuckled. She hated being called that, but he seemed to be the only one she didnât scold for it.
âI could use a hand changing over the barrels if youâve got time?â she said, breaking up the cardboard that the bottles had been housed in.
âSure thing, sweetheart.â Dean headed into the storeroom and started shifting the beer barrels behind the bar as Y/N continued putting bottles in the fridges and replacing the almost empty spirit bottles with full ones to accommodate the busiest night of the year: Friday night football and Freshers Week.
The bar was packed with customers, the warm, sunny weather drawing even more of them in than usual, and of course, Chuck had decided tonight was a good night to show face and âhelpâ, putting the staff on edge. Dean had gone with the head down and get on with it attitude, glad it was three deep at the bar so he had an excuse not to have to entertain Chuck for very long.
Y/N had been running around after Chuck all night, finding this paperwork and that invoice and the employee payroll for the past six weeks. Eventually, when he couldnât possibly ask for anything more, sheâd escaped the office, having brazenly told her boss that she was needed front of house to help serve customers.
âI swear,â sheâd said as she tied her little black serverâs apron around her waist, âItâs like he fucking knew tonight would be the busiest night but still came to check months old paperwork! God, that man is insufferable!â
It wasnât often that Y/N showed her annoyance, and Dean couldnât help but think it was cute. Though, admittedly, that could be his crush talking, her furrowed brow and tiny pout were adorable.
âWhat can I do to help?â he asked as she took her place behind the bar.
âI should be asking you that question!â she giggled. âWhat do you need me to do?â
âWe could do with someone collecting and cleaning the empty glasses, if you wouldnât mind?â he responded, smiling as she picked up a basket, cleaning spray, and a cloth before heâd finished his sentence.
âYou got it,â she winked and headed onto the floor to clear and wipe the tables down. And that, Dean thought, is what makes a good boss. Someone who works with the team to achieve the same goal. Someone who isnât afraid of stepping in to help by doing the most mundane tasks that are below their pay grade.
Y/N was a breath of fresh air for him in so many ways. She was bubbly and caring, and no matter what was thrown her way, she responded with an air of calmness and dignity that he admired.
âHey, man. What can I get ya?â Dean asked the next patron, finally taking his eyes off the girl slowly taking over his every thought.
âBe careful,â Dean said as Y/N headed back onto the floor to clear more glasses and tables. âItâs getting rowdy out there. You know what those college boys can be like.â
âThanks, Dean,â she smiled. âIâm sure Iâll be fine.â
He knew she would be. Heâd seen her handling every kind of drunk customer. Still, heâd watch her closely because he was more worried than usual. The crowd tonight seemed even more enthused thanks to the local sports team playing. It still surprised him how often the female staff got touched inappropriately and had the most vulgar things said to them by too drunk and far too confident men. More than once Dean had had to step in and stop something from going too far, and heâd do it as many times as he needed to for Y/N or any of the other female staff.
Y/N managed to get around most of the bar unscathed, but there was a particularly boisterous table of men who only frequented the bar when the Chiefs played. Dean had been watching them all night because they seemed to have forgotten their age and tried to out-drink their much younger counterparts. Theyâd already run their mouths off to the bar staff, and now one of them in particular had their beady eye on Y/N as she moved from table to table, collecting empty glasses and bottles.
Swapping her tray out for an empty one, Y/N made her way over to their table, and the second she got close enough, the balding guy with the beady eye was quick to rear his hand back and smack her ass. Deanâs hackles rose, and he was on high alert as he watched her give the douchebag a piece of her mind. But he didnât stop. Douchebag wrapped his arms around her waist and tried pulling her onto his lap. All the while, his douchebag little friends laughed and cheered him on like heâd won a fucking prize.
Dean saw red as he ran around the bar and strode purposely over to the group of middle-aged men amid a mid-life crisis and pulled Y/N from his hold, dragging her behind him to protect her.
âThe lady told you to leave her alone. I suggest you do that,â Dean fumed, only getting angrier at Douchebagâs smirk.
âOh, ladies and gentlemen, we have a jealous boyfriend trying to protect his girl! You know, if she were my girlfriend, I wouldnât let her out the house wearing something soâŠâ he paused as he leered up and down Y/Nâs body, ârevealing.â
âListen, asshole, you donât want to piss me off right now. Why donât you and your buddies call it a night and go home? Youâve clearly had too much to drink, and we donât take kindly to people assaulting our staff here,â Deanâs jaw was clenched, but heâd somehow managed to keep his voice steady.
âSorry, man,â Douchebag smirked as he stood. âJust canât help myself when I see a pretty girl showing off half her body like a Goddamn little tease. Sheâs asking for it, really.â
That was the last straw, and as Douchebag made one final (and unfortunately successful) attempt to get his hands on Y/N, Dean pulled his fist back and punched him square on the nose. The resounding crack as Dean broke the guyâs nose was satisfying, as were the synchronised grimacing âoohsâ that the audience this little corner of the bar had attracted.
âYou broke my nose, asshole!â Douchebag spluttered. âIâm reporting you for assault!â
âYou do that,â Y/N said, âand Iâll have you arrested, too. This whole bar and the CCTV saw you grope me twice and clearly saw me trying to get you off me! What he did,â she pointed at Dean, âwas save me from being sexually assaulted!â
âCome on, man,â one of Douchebagâs friends said, patting him on the back. âLetâs get you to the hospital. Itâs not worth it.â
âDamn straight itâs not!â Dean yelled. âAny way you spin this, he doesnât win, so get the hell out and donât come back!â
Tail between their legs, Douchebag and his friends left the bar. The second the door shut behind them, Dean was next to Y/N, checking her for injuries.
âIâm fine, Dean,â she insisted, but her eyes told a different story. The encounter had shaken her up, and Dean wanted to fix it, needed to fix it.
âNo, sweetheart, youâre not. Youâreââ Dean began but was interrupted by the shrill voice of Chuck.
âWinchester, my office, now! You too, Y/N.â
Seeing Y/N sitting beside him on the other side of the desk was strange. This was where she did all the paperwork, payroll, ordering, and invoicing, so to see Chuck on her chair was disconcerting. And not good.
âI donât know what was going on out thereââ Chuck began, and Dean scoffed in disbelief.
âYouâre bar manager was sexually assaulted by a customer. Thatâs what happened!â Dean sat forward on his chair, raising his voice. He only calmed when Y/N placed her hand on his forearm.
Chuck pursed his lips at his outburst and continued speaking as if Dean hadnât interrupted.
âI donât know what happened, but whatever it was, sexual assault or not,â Chuck looked pointedly at Y/N before he continued. âItâs no excuse for my staff to behave violently.â
âYou have got to be kidding me!â Dean fumed. âThat⊠scumbag⊠touched her ass and her breasts and tried to force her into his lap! You see those bruises, right?â he asked as he pointed to the dark purple fingerprint marks on her arms.
âInappropriate comments, slurs, even touching, is to be expected when you work in a barââ Chuck was interrupted again, this time by Y/N.
âThere are no touching policies in every strip club in the country for a reason, Chuck! You cannot expect it to be any different in a fratboy sports bar! No one should go to work expecting that being sexually assaulted is okay!â
âFor Godâs sake, Y/N! So what a guy touched your ass and tits! You should be flattered!â
âIt was sexual assault, Chuck! That guy,â Y/N pointed behind her in the general direction of the bar, âtouched me without permission, and I could have him charged! You too with how youâre behaving!â
âOh, stop being so dramatic! I feel sorry for your boyfriend if this is how prudish you are!â
âHey, that isââ Dean interjected, but Chuck kept talking.
âDean, youâre fired. I cannot, and will not, allow a violent brute to work in my bar.â
âYou canât do that!â Y/N protested.
âWatch it, or youâll be gone, too!â Chuck threatened, but Dean knew it was an empty one with her. He needed her too much. The bar would burn to the ground without her in charge.
âNo need. I quit. Effective immediately. I cannot, and will not,â Y/N glared at Chuck as she repeated his words to him, âwork in a place where Iâm expected to be sexually harassed and assaulted and ignore it. I cannot, and will not, work for a man who fires a good person for helping someone in need.â
Standing, Y/N took off her apron and name tag and threw them on the desk. She unhooked the keys from her belt and pulled the cash box towards her, opening it and pulling out two brown envelopes, handing one to Dean and putting the other in her pocket. Once sheâd locked the cash box, she tossed her keys down on the cheap metal desk with a satisfying clang.
âReally? Youâre going to quit over him?â Chuck scoffed.
âYes. Dean is worth a thousand shitty bar jobs like this one, and Iâd choose him over any of them in a heartbeat,â Y/N said with her head held high. âI hope you know youâve just lost your two best workers on the busiest night of the year. Come on, Dean. Letâs get out of this shithole.â
Dean didnât protest. He stood up, smirked at Chuck because he just couldnât help himself, and followed Y/N out of the bar and onto the street.
âSweetheart, you didnât need to do that. Iâm a big boy, and I can look after myself,â Dean said after walking in silence for a few minutes.
âI know you can, and yes, I did. That was unfair and undeserved. Especially because it was my fault,â Y/N responded.
âHey, donât ever⊠it wasnât your fault. Things like that are never the womanâs fault, you know that, right?â Dean couldnât believe sheâd ever think something like that would be her own doing.
âI know, but if Iâd listened to you and let Marcus clear tables instead of me, none of this wouldâve happened.â
âNo. I wonât hear it. You didnât ask to be groped by a balding douchebag going through a mid-life crisis, sweetheart. Donât ever apologise for someone elseâs wrongdoing,â he reassured her.
âSo, what do we do now? We both kinda needed that job,â Y/N chuckled, but it held no humour.
âWell, I might know a guy who owns a wine bar downtown. A classy establishment, so the tips are better. And weâd be treated right,â Dean said, thinking of the bar Cas had tried to get him to work in for months.
âYou have a buddy with a bar, and you chose to stay working in that shithole?â Y/N asked in disbelief. âWhy? What would possess you to stay there? Willingly?â
âIt wasnât all bad,â Dean smirked. This wasnât where he envisioned this conversation goingâif it ever happened at all, that isâbut the perfect opportunity had presented itself and heâd never forgive himself if he didnât take it. âI got to see you almost every day.â
âCome on! You did not stay there for me!â Y/N scoffed, and Dean shrugged his shoulders, his lips tugging upwards in a shy smile.
âI did, actually. Canât think of anyone better to spend so much time with.â
âDean Winchester,â she grinned. âAre you flirting with me?â The teasing tone in her words was one heâd never heard before, and he liked it.
âDo you want me to be flirting with you?â heâd asked, needing to hear her say it before he did something stupid because heâd misread the signals.
âYeah⊠I think I do,â Y/N giggled, stepping closer to him, bumping their arms together as they stepped in sync down the sidewalk.
âYeah?â he asked, checking again because, quite frankly, she was her and he was him.
âYeah.â
Dean stopped walking and gently grabbed her forearm to stop her from walking ahead. Feeling brave, Dean placed his hands on her cheeks and dipped his head, slowly lowering his lips to hers. Every inch closer he got, he switched his gaze between her lips and her eyes, making sure this was what she wanted.
When there was no hesitation and nowhere else to go, he closed his eyes and pressed his lips to hers. They were as soft as they always looked, softer even, and tasted as sweet as heâd imagined they would.
Y/N pressed herself closer to him with a low hum and slid her arms up his chest, resting one hand on his pec and the other curling around his neck. Dean licked her bottom lip, encouraging her to open her mouth and let him deepen their kiss.
He failed to hold back a groan when his tongue met hers, the feeling so much better than anything his mind couldâve conjured up. Dean couldnât remember how long heâd wanted this, and now that it was happening, he knew heâd do whatever he could to keep her in his arms, just like this.

[Masterlist] [Part 1]
ă» â„âŠâââââââââââĄâĄâĄâââââââââââŠâ„ ă»
"Hey Matty, where's a great place to bring a girl you have been crushing on for quite some time now? " Y/N asks her good friend, who paused his typing,
"Wait, you finally asked Sam out?" Matt states his shock.
Y/N had been rambling to her good friend and boss, Matt, about how things had been going between her and Sam. If he were being honest, his friend's been stupidly in love with Sam since the day she shared their conversation one night at the diner. For someone who likes to observe the world around her, Matt was sure she was the most oblivious of how she felt towards a specific woman that works in her favorite diner.
It had been the day after Y/N had walked Sam to her apartment after work and asked her to dinner, and for the past few hours since she got home, she's been overthinking about it. She ends up planning what she'd be wearing for the date and settled wearing something more casual than what she always wore whenever she stopped by the diner. If someone were watching her choosing between the amount of clothes she had picked they'd think that she has lost her mind. Though Y/N had decided on her clothes, the next on her list was the place they'd have dinner at. Like what Sam said last night, she was aiming for a place they can only afford than going to an expensive restaurant and pouring her entire savings into some dish that she's not even sure she'd like. So that's why she seeks someone else's opinion,
"Yes, I did, and I'm panicking because I have no place in mind to take her to!" The woman nervously answers before she sat down on the chair by his table and tapped her feet. It was something she's been doing for the past few hours of contemplating things.
"Well, don't take her anywhere expensive." Her friend emphasizes as he leans back in his chair and crosses his arms.
"I'm aware, dude. I can't spend my entire bank account for a plate of steak that I can do 10x better at home." Y/N jokes when she can't even cook much.
"Then why not cook her something?" Matt playfully suggests, and he sees the cringe on her face before replying, "And attempt to burn my place down again? Gladly! "Â
"C'mon, it can't be that bad Y/N." He tries to convince her.
Y/N suddenly recalls the time she tried to make spaghetti and ended up burning the sauce and cooking her noodles mushy. The chaos she omitted that Sunday afternoon caused her fire alarm to go off, and earned numerous knocks on her door after her attempt. Let's just say she never bothered to try cooking anything fresh other than instant noodles and canned food. Even her mother laughed so hard at her story when she was telling it on the phone.
"Did you forget that I almost burned my place down because of tomato sauce, Matthew?" The sarcasm that drips in her voice makes Matt laugh,
"Oh, what about that taco truck you said you've been wanting to try for the past two weeks?" Matt remembers her words. The woman's eyes light up from his suggestion.
Y/N still had been eyeing that taco truck that was a few walks away from her apartment but had always been preoccupied to try.
"Oh my gosh, Matt. You're a fucking genius! " Y/N exclaims before standing up.
"Then I'll let you get off early later." Matt chuckles at his friend before he watches her walk out of his room and go to the lobby to continue her brainstorming. Though she does stop by the door before saying, "Thank you, Matty. You're the best!"
Meanwhile, in the Bailey-Carpenter apartment, Sam had reluctantly asked her young sister what outfit she could wear, and it ended up Mindy, Anika, and Quinn tagging along. Tara was beyond ecstatic to help her big sister with something like this. After almost a year of living in New York, Sam's finally letting herself be open in the dating scene. The other three were beyond surprised to hear that the Samantha Carpenter was going on a date with someone they had never heard of before, but Tara filled them with what she knew. Quinn and Tara rummage into Sam's closet for some clothes qualified enough for her to wear tonight.Â
So far, the progress is going very slow.
"Wait so, she's a regular at the diner you work at and defended you from these mean girls that been harassing you? Damn, now I want to meet the woman." Mindy babbles as she sat on Sam's bed and rests one of her arms in-between her girlfriend's thighs.
"And she always walks her home after her shifts. I sometimes catch up to them and that ass of hers is looking mighty fine in those pantsuits." Quinn adds while studying one of Sam's crop top.
"That's so sweet. Sam, she already sounds like a keeper." Anika smiles at the older Carpenter who has been embarrassed the entire time.
"Oh my god you guys, we're not even anything yet." Sam covers her face.
"Not even anything? Sam, she's literally the first person you opened up to with none of our connections. And she waits for you to finish your shift sometimes and walks you home!" Tara points out facts as she turns around to face her sister,
"Andâ And, she's the first person to ever make you genuinely laugh! I have never heard you laugh since you know who!" Her sister continues.
"Tell me, has she ever done that to anyone else at the diner?" The younger Carpenter continues, and the three wait for her response as she froze.
The coffee breaks she always offered to everyone turned out mostly to be her's except for the times she was off. Y/N does always wait for her to finish her shift but only when she's on the morning shift. On the night shifts, she's more than happy to accompany her before 10 pm to head home and rest. Sam always texted her whenever she got home before going to sleep and it always surprised her when she got a reply so early to bid her to have a good rest. Y/N only offered the walks to her specifically that even Cate and Dolly tease her about it while Dale proudly smiles at his favorite regular. Sam concludes that her sister was right. When she took too long to respond Tara snaps her fingers and scoffs in amusement.
"See? There is something!" The younger Carpenter finishes before she goes back to help Quinn.
"Okay, as much as I want to help Tara prove that she's right, why do you not have anything spicy here Sam? Not even a red dress or a cute skirt?" Quinn interjects and she gives up.
"I mean, tank tops, skinny jeans, and boots are Sam's thing. I don't see a problem with that." Mindy joins in with a shoulder shrug.
"I agree with her on that one." Her girlfriend beams and Mindy kisses her cheek for it.
Sam smiles at their antics before she finally helps find the perfect fit for her. She felt content to be surrounded by people who support her in this new chapter in her life. Part of her still felt incredibly nervous to go out with Y/N who felt the same way as she changed to the outfit she had planned which was a green plaid jacket, white shirt, black jeans, and walking shoes. It felt weird to dress this comfortably just to see Sam. She's at least checked herself in the mirror more times she can count than usual and has contemplated too many times if she should drop the jacket or not. But the weather today seems to tell her that it might rain one way or the other. Y/N just had to be sure that she was prepared for the worst.
When she finally stopped herself from stressing about her fit, she grabbed her stuff and left her apartment to walk her way to Sam's apartment. Even if it was around five blocks away walking felt better than getting a taxi and getting stuck in traffic at this hour. Y/N put on her earphones as she strutted through the New York crowd and minded her business. The people around her moved in routine as some bumped into each other and yelled at the person to watch their way while some people talked loudly on the phone. She was beyond immune to how the people here are the way they are. So as Y/N arrives at the Bailey-Carpenter apartment building, she catches a glimpse of the sisters waiting for her by the stairs and Tara is the first one to notice her arrival. Her eyes couldn't leave Sam's body as she stood next to her sister who sat on the stairs and tapped her shoes nervously. She wore a cropped tank top and blue skinny jeans to match her usual boots that she wore to work. Y/N always liked her wearing tank tops because she gets to see those arms for free.
"Y/N!" Tara jumped from her seat as she ran to hug the woman nearing them. Y/N smiles at the younger Carpenter and hugs her with one hand.
Sam looks up to see both of them and she freezes at the sight of her. Those doe eyes couldn't leave Y/N's figure as she initiated small talk with Tara. Everything else blurred out as she watched the woman smile as she spoke and her voice was inaudible. She thought she looked amazing even in casual wear. It was too weird to see her outside of her work clothes since she's gotten so used to Y/N visiting her right after work. She didn't even realize that they had approached her. Sam couldn't snap out of her trance until someone snapped their fingers in front of her. Tara giggled at her sister's unresponsiveness when Y/N greeted her and dropped her hand that was in front of her sister's face.
"Huh?" Sam uttered as she blinked a few times.
"You good, Sam?" Y/N asks as she tries to hide away her amusement,
"Yeah, y-you look good." She sheepishly replies and smiles back at her before she hears her compliment her back, "I could say the same for you,"
"You ready?" The woman saw her nod before both of them turned to notice Tara grinning at them.
"You better bring her back home before 10 or we will hunt you down, Y/L/N." The younger Carpenter tries to intimidate her with an emphasis on "we" and it makes Y/N laugh at her attempt. The interaction caused Sam to push Y/N's back for them to leave.
"10 o' clock, Y/L/N! Don't forget it! "
"Yes, ma'am!" She turns around and shouts back with a salute.
"Tara get back inside! I'll see you later." Tara shakes her head while giggling before following her order.
Unconsciously, Y/N holds her hand while Sam's free hand covers her face in embarrassment. As much as she loved her sister dearly, Tara was surely doing all she could to humiliate her in front of Y/N. But deep down, she's more than happy that they bonded well. Tara is kind of easy to befriend so Y/N had no worries getting along with the young Carpenter. The woman in question smiles at her as she covers her blushed face and finally takes the lead to walk them to their destination.
"I am so sorry about her." Sam tries to apologize.
"It's nothing, I like seeing you all embarrassed. It's cute." Y/N let her know.
Sam tries to act cool from her words and removes her hand from her face before looking at her to ask, "Stop it! Where are you taking us?"
"Oh, there's this taco truck I've always passed whenever I come back from the diner and have always wanted to try it out. Might as well try there." Y/N informs as they walk past a crowd.
They were a crowd of teenagers and laughing loudly at their shenanigans. Y/N felt Sam stiffen from the crowd so she carefully let go of her hand and slipped it on her back to settle her hand on her waist. This moved their bodies closer and the move made Sam blush again. Part of her wish was that Y/N wouldn't notice it but she was already too late as it made her smirk. Her cautious mind calmed down after.
"Do you want me to move away?" The woman softly questions to her ear. She could've sworn that her voice shifted from sweet to silky.
Situations like this used to make Sam freeze after Woodsboro, but Y/N has unconsciously helped her get through it. She felt incredibly safe with her around. Safety was something she had never felt since moving to New York before all the rumors started.
"N-No, this is fine." Sam stuttered, cursing at herself for doing so.
Y/N just simply smiles before they continue walking close to each other. The warm feeling on her chest continued that she couldn't help herself from smiling. Sam's nervousness was long gone and she felt more comfortable in Y/N's arms. They were able to pass by the diner and wave at the staff and regular customers inside. Behind Y/N's back, Dale had just won the bet he had with both servers who thought she wouldn't have the guts to ask Sam or the other way around. Cate whined in defeat before handing the cook his ten bucks. The smug smile on Dale's face only annoyed Dolly who also gave her ten bucks and continued cleaning the table she had abandoned after seeing the two.
When Y/N notices the familiar deli shop on the other side of the road she smiles knowing that they are near. Her hands loosen from Sam's hips and beams at her,
"What kind of taco do you like?" The woman randomly asks and Sam hums to think about her answer while they wait,
"My dad used to make these fish tacos when we were young and when we had a trip to Mexico I had this amazing one but forgot it," Sam replies.
"What about you?" She voices out her curiosity.
"I've had Al Pastor once and it was good. The one that's been showing up in my timeline lately is Birria tacos and I swear I want to try them so bad." Y/N happily answers.
Sam only giggles at her ramble before they finally arrive at the place and it was kind of crowded. There was quite the line for both the order and waiting and so far the people who were already eating seemed to be having a good time while enjoying the food. The place had slowly upgraded since Y/N had laid eyes on it. At first, it was just a taco truck by an empty parking space, but now there were tables and decorations around their area with lights complimenting the homey vibe of the area. The owner must have gotten a lot of attention to make this place look lively. Sam liked how cozy and warm the area looked as she observed more.
"So, what are we ordering?" Y/N wonders as she looks her way.
She sees the older Carpenter stare at the sign and concentrate on which order should she pick. The way her eyebrows furrowed as she debated between fish and beef made Y/N's heart flutter. Those doe eyes that used to be so mysterious are now mesmerizing to her. She thought she was so adorable that she didn't even realize that she'd been staring for too long.
"I mean, we only have two options. We can order both and just share if you'd like?" Sam concludes her thought process before she turns to see the woman's reaction only to be smiling at her mindlessly.
"Y/N? " She calls for her when she doesn't answer her.
"Hmm? Yeah, that sounds good to me." Y/N blurts out when she pulls away from her thoughts and it's Sam's turn to be amused by her getting distracted.
"What's on your mind?" Sam tries to tease her and it only makes the woman blush.
"I-I, uhmâ"
"I'm messing with you, dummy." The teasing she caused had only made Y/N blush even harder as she scratched the back of her head and laughed along with her.
Just the sight of Y/N like this will be stuck at the back of Sam's head for who knows how long.
While waiting in line, the two continued conversing about their day. Y/N excluded the part where she was panicking over where she'd take them to dinner and stressing over her outfit. She found it cute how all the girls came together to help Sam with her outfit even when she only asked for Tara. Her sister has mentioned the three before whenever she hangs out at the diner when she has no classes in the afternoon. So far, Mindy is her favorite from the stories. As they ordered and finished up, it was time to wait in line. Gladly the service was fast since around four people were working inside a food truck to cook and prepare while two worked to clean the tables. When their orders were placed and the food served later, both enjoyed their dinner with laughs and stories. Y/N liked both fish and beef but Sam preferred the fish because it brought some nostalgia for her. The woman didn't mind offering the majority of the fish tacos to her and just smiled when Sam appreciated her for offering them.
"You know⊠I thought you wouldn't return them." Y/N began while trying to add some salsa verde to her half-eaten taco. The Carpenter girl figured that they were talking about how they felt for each other as she wiped off whatever was on her face after finishing her last taco.
"Well, I've never really had anyone openly be friendly with me and stick around even when I don't show much... interest." Sam answers.
"Stick around huh?" The woman teases with a grin before biting in.
"I mean, who's the one who kept asking for coffee breaks?" Sam watches her stifle her laugh while trying to finish chewing her food and swallow it down before replying to her,
"In my defense, I offer coffee breaks to everyone." Y/N tries to say.
"And yet you still offered it after I declined twice. You were a tad bit persistent on that." All she could do was shake her head.
"What can I say, I liked the whole mystery behind you. Intrigued me a lot and I'm glad I was patient enough to make it this far." Y/N admits, leaning back in her seat to cross her arms with a small smile.
Her eyes follow Sam's every move as she leans close to her and hovers her mouth next to her ear to say, "You have something on your face."
The shortness of the gap between them causes Y/N to sit still while the Carpenter girl wipes away the smudge of salsa verde near the corner of her lips with tissue. Her cheeks light up as they stay close and she stares at Sam's lips which seem to be more irresistible than before. The urge to fight herself back from kissing her was her greatest battle right now because she was almost losing. Sam found amusement in her enthralled state, knowing that this was the same woman who almost swerved smoothly through her guarded walls for the past month. All that natural confidence she carried with ease was nowhere to be found now. Y/N felt her hold her chin before forcing her to move her attention to her face she had a smirk. Her blush only worsened.
"Eyes up here, Cariño." Y/N almost melted on the floor when she heard her speak again.
"T-Thank you." She was able to bring herself to voice her gratitude.
Sam only chuckled at her when she replied before checking her phone to see the time. The woman before her stood up with a sigh and motioned her to follow, "Come on, my sister's going to potentially hunt you down if we don't get back at 10."
"R-Right!" Y/N stutters as she stands up.
The Carpenter girl only smiled at her as she went to cling her right arm around her left arm. Both of them walked by the sidewalk with comfortable silence between them and Sam leaned her head to her shoulder, trusting Y/N fully. She felt a sense of accomplishment for coming this far. All that patience was worth the effort now that she was here with Sam trusting her safety and well-being with her that she could never let herself be like this around anyone else but her family. That warm feeling came back to her chest as they continued to walk and Y/N only smiled at the feel of it.
"Did you enjoy tonight?" Y/N gently asks,
"It was⊠better than expected. Thank you for tonight." Sam sends her gratitude to her while trying to look up to see her grinning in content.
"You're always welcome, Sam. You deserve it."
Both continued in silence as they walked back to the Carpenter's place. While walking, Y/N felt something land on her face, and she slightly jumped from it. Her head turned left and right to try and figure out what it was before she felt something land again. The woman then looked up to the sky that had the stars hidden, and before they knew it the rain started pouring down at them. Y/N's instinct was to run and look for some cover, but most of them were being occupied by other people. A thought popped into her mind, and she suddenly remembered that she wore her plaid jacket for this exact reason. She then started stripping out of the said jacket and covered Sam's head to keep her dryer.
"You're going to get wet!" Sam scolds her only to be brushed off,
"It's okay, my place is near we can get dry there!" Y/N yells before grabbing her hand to lead them to her apartment.
Both of them ran through the New York rain as it continued to pour harder and they laughed like children playing in the rain. Tara's joking threats were now forgotten and Sam would probably give her a call later to let her know. Y/N could feel her clothes getting wetter in the process but as promised, the buildings that she was all too familiar with walking past whenever she came home came nearer. Sam noted that she lived on a nicer street than she and her sister do, though only a little. When they reached the apartment building, Y/N quickly looked for her keys in the pockets of her jeans and fished them out when she found them. She then unlocks the building door and lets Sam in first before she follows to close the door behind.
"Oh my god, Y/N. You're all soaked up." Sam points out the obvious as she takes off the plaid jacket off her head.
All she heard from her was a laugh before she shakes her head to brush it off.
"At least you're not." The woman beams at her and she thinks she looks like a little kid smiling at her with her hair flat and clothes drenched.
Y/N noted that Lenard, the keeper, would probably kill her for causing a mess on the floor with a puddle slightly forming from the water dripping from them. She'll apologize to him by the morning before she comes to work, probably with a box of his favorite Marlboro to make up to him.
"C'mon, we might get sick if we don't get out of these," Y/N remarked as she started making her way to the elevator.
Luckily enough for them, the elevator was free for them and they both entered the box accompanied by squeaks from their shoes. Y/N pressed the button for her floor and leaned her weight to the railing at the back, Sam following her. The Carpenter girl takes a moment to stare at the woman beside her and notices how her skin glistens from the water and the lighting of the elevator. It was relatively bright, but not bright enough to be blinding. Numerous thoughts came to her mind as she burned her skin with her unwavering eyes that she felt them. Y/N turns to face her and breathed,
"What's on your mind, Sammy?" Something about the way her voice caused the hair on her arms to go up and made her throw all her restraints away.
And hearing that nickname was her breaking point.
"Fuck it," Sam uttered before she grabs Y/N's face and presses her lips onto hers.
Y/N's plaid jacket that she had held has been dropped on the floor and both couldn't be bothered by it. The force Sam had used to press her hard to the wall caught Y/N off guard and the kiss only made her feel like there was a fireworks display in her stomach. She noted how soft her lips were and the desperation in her kiss as they turned their heads in sync. There was a hint of citrus on Sam's lips and she liked the taste of it that they felt irresistible. Hands slowly make their way to Sam's hips before Y/N flips their places with her now pinning the Carpenter girl, barely breaking the kiss.
If only she knew how her knees weakened when she took dominance.
When it seemed like it was taking forever and both women struggled to breathe, they pulled away from each other but not too far away to miss each other's warmth. Sam decided to be the first one to break the silence in the hair,
"I know I was the one who started, but I think⊠we're going too fast." She addressed as she caught her breath.
Y/N giggles as she looks down to avoid her stare and a shade of pink paints her cheeks, "Yeah, I agree and I don't mind if you want to take things slow."
Sam just smiles at her in content when she looks back to her doe eyes and makes her heart leap at the adoration in Y/N's eyes. She felt too fortunate to have someone as considerate and patient as her. Almost too good to be true. But she reassured herself that Y/N was nothing like Richie. And Sam hoped her heart won't be broken twice with betrayal.
"I'd like that."

Stupid Bet
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Fem!Reader Warning: cussing, arguing, mention of sex, little bit a flirting with Bucky if you squint very hard Summary: The guys make a bet to see how long it takes for you to have sex with Steve.
You were the Avengers' new liaison you decided what missions they went on and what they would be doing. You've gotten really close with Bucky even though he was standoffish at first, but he came around especially since you never gave up and always bothered him asking if he wanted to go places with you. You and Bucky were in your office talking about the last mission he went on, how it went, and how he messed up his fingers when they got stuck in a revolving door. âHow did you get your fingers stuck in a revolving door?â He sighed and threw his head back âFor the last time I was fighting someone, and I went to hit them with the door, but I didnât know it was revolvingâ You giggled a bit and helped him tape his middle and ring finger together. âGotta be more careful, Buck.â after you finished taping his fingers you looked over as Steve walked into your office âI hope Iâm not interrupting anything.â You realized you were still holding Buckyâs hand which you gently let go of âJust taping his fingers, is there something you need?â Steve walked the rest of the way into your office and sat in one of the chairs in front of your desk âYeah, I was wondering if you approved my mission for tomorrow.â You furrowed your eyebrows and logged into your computer âNothing came across my desk about a mission for tomorrow.â Just as you finished your sentence Nick Fury walks in âThatâs because it came across mine.â You looked up still confused âWhy didnât I get notified?â You leaned your elbows on your desk watching him walk the rest of the way in âItâs a special order, but I do need you to round up Natasha and Stark for me and youâll actually be leaving in 2 hours instead of tomorrow. It turned urgent and I need you guys there asap.â You admit you were a little irritated, why have you work this position if itâs just going to skip past you, but of course, you did what Fury wanted and called Natasha and Tony letting them know it was urgent and that they needed to get there quickly. You couldnât help but feel like you werenât doing your job correctly, you shook those thoughts away. It was the end of your shift and finally time to go home, you took some files home with you that way you would have an early day tomorrow, you looked over some of the files but quickly got tired so you went to your room and fell asleep. Steve and Bucky sat next to each other while Sam and Tony sat across from them and Natasha was busy talking to Nick Fury about her role in all of this. âSo, Y/N, sheâs hot.â Tony broke the awkward silence among the men they all nodded and exchanged looks âSheâs gorgeousâ Sam let slip out âBut I learned a long time ago donât mess with a woman that has a license to kill.â They all shared a laugh and agreed âSheâs also super hard to get apparently. I looked her up and sheâs only had 1 boyfriend and that was in middle school, so I doubt that countsâ They all looked at Tony with their eyes wide open âWhat, I like to know who Iâm working with.â There was silence for a while and then Bucky had what he thought was a great idea. âSteve, I bet $100 you canât get Y/N to have sex with you.â Steve looked over at Bucky with disgust âBuck thatâs so disrespectful.â Sam and Tony chimed in adding $100 from the both of them at this point Steve was intrigued âYou know what, Iâll take that bet. A month is all I needâ They all nodded and shook hands.
Itâs been a couple days and theyâre back from their mission and the bet still weighs heavy on Steveâs mind, he knows itâs not the right thing to do but he also knows that heâd get ridiculed for not going through with it and Steve may seem like he doesnât need other peoplesâ opinions but deep down he thrives on them. You were sitting at your desk combing through files trying to figure out who to send where, when you heard a faint knock on your door you looked up trying to see if you could figure out who was at the door "Come in." You sat back in your chair watching Steve stroll in smiling at you as he closed your door behind you. "Oh, hey Steve. What can I do for you?" He sat in the chair in front of your desk still smiling, it was a little weird, but you went along with it. "Just wanted to come see you." You furrowed your eyebrows and nodded "Well, I was about to go get lunch do you wanna join me?" You logged out of your computer standing up from your chair Steve nodded and stood up as well "Of course, sounds like fun." Steve was acting a bit weird, but sometimes that's just Steve. The two of you strolled down the hall towards the cafeteria passing other agents and smiling or nodding at them. âSo, how you are liking the job?â Once again confused you furrowed your eyebrows âYou mean the job Iâve been working for 3 years?â You chuckled awkwardly âItâs great, I enjoy finally being out of the field and I really enjoy hearing the feedback from when you guys come back.â You stared ahead as you both walked into the cafeteria which of course Steve held the door for you, the two of you ordered your food and waited at the end for it to be done when Bucky and Sam walked past and winked at Steve "What was that about?" Steve looked at you and shrugged "I have no clue." Your food was done Steve grabbed your bag along with his and you both made your way back to your office. The two of you sat there, eating, laughing, talking, but unfortunately, Steve had to go do something with Bucky and Sam, so he took your trash and threw it away on his way out. You continued to work for the next few hours until it was time to go home you packed up your belongings and walked out your office door, closing and locking it behind you. You walked down the hall running into Nat on the way out. "Hey, heading home?" You smiled at her and nodded "Yeah, time to start the weekend off right, wanna come over and drink wine?" Nat fixed her bag on her shoulder and nodded "Yeah, I'll meet you there I have to swing by Sam's office and get my watch back." You nodded and walked to your car. Natasha walked up to Sam's office and just as she was about to knock, she heard Steve's voice on the other side of the door. "I don't think I can go through with this bet; she's really amazing we spent lunch together and I don't want to hurt her." Bucky chuckled and shrugged "Okay then you owe us $300 simple." There was shuffling "Oh and you're going to have to live with the shame of not getting laid since 1945." Steve sighed "Fine, fine." Natasha rolled her eyes and continued walking down the hallway. the entire way to your house she didnât know how she was going to tell you and how you would take it.
It was the next morning and Natasha told you everything she knew, and you were fuming. You didn't even want to go to work but you knew if you didn't show up people would question, and you don't really have any answers at the moment. You paced around your office, at first you were pissed at yourself "How could I be so stupid, why would Steve want anything to do with me?" Then you turned your rage to the guys "Why!" You screamed and threw your stapler across the room shattering a glass window, you let out a sigh grabbed a broom and dustpan and started sweeping up the glass. "Hey, Y/N do you want- Woah what happened here?" You looked over and Saw Bucky walk through the door the anger within you boiled once more, and you threw away the glass you swept up, turning towards him. "You okay?" In one swift motion, you pinned Bucky up against the wall, your forearm against his chest "Tell me about the bet." You growled staring straight into his eyes "Do I need to repeat myself?" Bucky gulped and shook his head but stalled. You pressed your forearm deeper into his chest "Okay okay. I bet Steve $100 he couldn't sleep with you and Sam and Tony joined in adding $100 each." You backed off of Bucky "Sam too?" You didn't care about Tony joining in on the bet that wasn't off-script for him, but Sam? You sighed and stumbled back a bit Bucky tried to catch you, but you punched his arm and walked out to find Tony and Sam. Fuming you marched down the halls looking for Sam and Tony, luckily the two of them were in Fury's office turning in a mission report "You two!" They both turned and looked at you "Uh oh someone got their panties in a bunch." Tony chuckled and elbowed Sam, but Sam was scared and backed up a bit "You two were in on a bet to see how long it would take for Steve to sleep with me!" Fury stood up and walked around his desk to face them. "You did what?" He crossed his arms and watched as they scrambled to find the right words. "Get Steve in my office immediately." He said to Hill she nodded and went off to find Steve. "I can't believe you guys would do this, I thought we were friends." Bucky walked in with Steve and Maria "What's going on?" Steve said as he stood firmly next to Sam "$300 ring a bell?" His face went pale and looked at the other men who threw their hands up except Bucky "Nat told me there was a bet and Bucky told me the details of the bet." They all looked at Bucky "She had me pinned against the wall I didn't have a choice." You rubbed your face and sighed "I'm resigning from my post effective immediately." You turned on your heels and walked out of Fury's office you walked back to your office and started packing your things "Hey, it's about that time want to go get lunch?" You looked up and saw Nat "I'm sorry, but I no longer work here." She stepped into your office "What do you mean?" You finished putting your belongings in a box "I quit, I can't work with people I don't trust." She nodded and helped you pack some things "I don't think you should quit but if that's what you want to do I support you." You sighed and sat down in your chair "I don't want to quit, I love my job, I love hearing the feedback and being a part of the combat without directly dealing with it. I already told Fury I resign." You sat back in your chair rubbing your forehead "Good thing I didn't put it through." You looked up at the voice and saw that it was Fury "I'm sorry I let my emotions get the best of me, I don't really want to quit" He nodded and walked closer "I know, but if you want, I can make it, so you don't have to deal with missions for those 3." You shook your head "I'll do it, but it will be strictly business no small talk just straight missions and that is it." Fury nodded and stepped to the side "They also want to apologize." You shook your head "If it's not sincere I don't want it. Especially if you forced them to do it." He nodded his head and walked out telling them you don't want to hear it. "I'm going home, come by after work?" Nat nodded and watched you walk out of your office.
You were now at home waiting for Natasha to come over, you had put the bottles of wine on the coffee table along with a bunch of snacks and cheesecake. You were feeling a little better but that might have something to do with the 3 glasses of wine you already drank while waiting for Nat. Just as you were setting up Netflix there was a knock at the door you walked over and opened it expecting to see Natasha but no, it was Steve, Sam and Bucky. You crossed your arms and stared at them "Can I help you?" Steve stepped forward but you put your hand on his chest and pushed him back slightly "Look, Y/N we are very sorry it was a stupid thing to do, and we were stupid." You looked at the 3 of them "Where's Stark?" You kept your arms crossed and watched at Tony came around the corner with a huge bouquet of flowers and your favorite chocolate. You accepted the flowers and chocolate and placed them on the couch "I'm going to need more time to be able to forgive you guys I hope you can understand that." They nodded and went their separate ways except Bucky, he stayed at your door, you looked up at him "Yes, Bucky?" He sighed and pulled you into a hug, which wasn't something he does often or at all for that matter, you hugged him back and buried your face in his neck. He kissed your shoulder and whispered in your ear how sorry he was and that he promises to never betray you again. You were always close to Bucky, so his betrayal hurt the most. As the two of you pulled back your phone vibrated it was Nat telling you that she isn't going to make it she got pulled to an emergency mission, you sighed and looked at Bucky "This doesn't mean I fully forgive you, but Nat just cancelled do you wanna come in and watch movies and eat snacks?" He nodded and followed you to the couch after shutting and locking your front door, the two of you sat down and found a movie to watch âDid you really quit?â You sighed and shook your head not taking your eyes off the screen âI took it back, I love what I do, and I canât just leave.â Bucky let out a sigh of relief âGood, because Iâd miss you taping up my fingers after every missionâ He chuckled and lightly nudged your shoulder you smiled softly and continued the movie. "Alright, I should get going. See you in the morning." You followed Bucky to the door after he helped clean up everything. "See you in the morning, Buck." You shut and locked the door and went to your room and fell asleep. It was the next morning, and you were running behind you quickly gathered your things and ran into the building and into your office, you sighed and sat down rearranging your things on your desk when suddenly you saw a medium size red velvet box with a black bow on top, you slowly picked it up and read the note, it was from Steve and it said "I am so sorry, Y/N please take this gift and cherish it the way that I have for years." You carefully opened the box and saw a locket, you opened the locket and saw a picture of you and Steve on your first mission together, you couldn't help but wonder why Steve kept that for all these years, you loved sweet gestures and if you can forgive Bucky Sam and Tony, you can forgive Steve too. Sam and Tony got you several of your favorite things and got you food as well and continued saying sorry until you told them it was enough. You leaned back in your chair looking at the necklace, you picked up your work phone and asked for Steve to come to your office, a couple minutes later Steve walked in with his hands in his pockets, he looked like he hasn't slept "Have a seat." He strolled over and sat in the chair in front of your desk "I appreciate the gift Steve and I do forgive you, but it's going to take a bit before I fully trust you again, but I do forgive you." He let out a sigh of relief and nodded his head "I am so sorry Y/N I promise to never do anything like that again!" You stood up and pulled Steve into a hug "I know, thank you." The day went on as normal as did the rest of your life, you did end up dating and marrying Steve, he's never done the same thing or anything like that again.
