While X' servers were still up and running, I spent a lot of time wandering around Mira, tracking down other players' Crosses, and screenshotting them whenever they had what I would consider a "farewell message". And the other day, reddit user NoodleTF2 posted a compilation of places where other players' Crosses can appear on Mira, which featured several people that I never saw (or never saw outside of menus). This big chonker of a picture (seriously, it's 5850 x 4320 - make sure to look at it in a full view!) is the result of me compiling every single ones of these farewell messages into one singular pic. The centrepiece is an edited screenshot of my own, since I obviously couldn't screenshot my own Cross, and thought that the sunset view of NLA made for a good middle of it all.

Thank you for everyone who came together in X' last days. You all made the end something to remember.

notes on wip drafts because it's been about a year since I've been posting here and because i have not posted real writing stuff in ages and because i'm awesome and i can do whatever i want

really long watch out

Draft 1- -Characters: Leo, Cass, Marcy, Kai, Addy -Leo + Cass are twins, Marcy is their adoptive sister from France, Addy was their adoptive sister from Ireland, Kai was Leo's friend from school -Written in first person POV -The twins were 14, Kai was 13, Marcy was 12, Addy was 11 -Written sometime late 2019 on Wattpad -Written during my ninja turtles era, each character loosely based on one of the turtles + April (Leo as Leonardo, Cass as Donatello, Addy as Michelangelo, Marcy -Leo's full name really is just Leo and no last name -Leo gets a wolverine claw sort of thing that is also a flamethrower -Leo gets in a fight with Marcy over a board game, runs off, gets stolen right out of the woods for Plot Purposes, goes missing for like six months, the other kids get exactly one chapter of looking for her, and then there's three chapters of Mind Control Leo -The end of the first draft was between my ninja turtles hyperfixation and my tangled the series hyperfixation and I know this because I had a song chapter of crossing the line between the twins

Draft 2- -Characters: Leo, Cass, Kai, Marcy, Addy -Written in first person POV -Written a month or two after the first draft -Mostly the same plot but Leo is taken to a cabin instead of a warehouse -Didn't last very long, because it was really only Leo and writing a story with only one character is sort of hard

Draft 3- -Characters: Leo, Cass, Kai, Marcy, Addy -Leo and Kai were romantically involved (ew) -First person POV -Same ages as the other two -Kai follows Leo before she gets kidnapped, somehow they end up in Canada -First establishes the setting in Maine -Leo burns down the cabin with a match (the kids don't have magic yet) -Kai and Leo spend way too much time trying to get from Canada to Maine -Like they go to Mexico for some reason -I remember writing the last chapter during online history class with the Worst Teacher Ever in seventh grade so I had to have been like 13-14/mid 2021 because I started going half online half offline sometime in April

Draft 4- -Characters: Leo, Cass, Kai, Marcy, Addy, Ryan, Sam, Elliot -Written when I started getting into DuckTales. Hence the triplets -They're seven years old -Created so that Leo + Kai have more stakes -They save the triplets but at the cost of me losing motivation after that

Draft 5- -Characters: Leo, Cass, Kai, Marcy, Addy, Ryan, Sam, Elliot -But I got attached to their characters so I kept them -It changed to third person POV -Leo's full name is Leonidas for fucking no reason -Kai is no longer part of the main plot and no longer a love interest because I didn't like writing it -The triplet's backstory is that they're the kids of the people that have stolen Leo, but that their mother died when they were like two -So now they're locked in a basement and so is Leo -Elliot's completely blind -Leo once again saves the kids but has a villain arc in the process -Proceeds to kidnap Cass with a stolen car, builds a robot army, gets blown up -Brief redemption arc follows after Leo goes to jail for a bit

Draft 6- -Leo, Cass, Kai, Marcy, Addy, Ryan, Sam, Elliot, Logan (Lily, Dylan, and Jaxon are there, but they aren't named) -The longest one I have -Written a little while after draft five, because I wanted to give Leo some friends in jail -Leo breaks out of jail with the other kids, but Logan is the only named one -And he has a wildly different name but I'm not going to tell you what it was -The first time I decided to give the twins magic. Since the other three were side characters and horribly underdeveloped they didn't get anything. Leo gets decay and fire, Cass gets healing and plants -Logan goes back to jail but Leo doesn't. Logan's magic involves metal and ice -First lab concept, but the kids are in prison

Draft 6's sequel -Some Prophecy Bullshit -The kids have to go find Logan (he's sixteen or something) -They get him out of jail, he steals a school bus -I can't remember much, I abandoned it when I couldn't figure out what to do with the prophecy bullshit. Something about portals

Draft 6's third book -Leo, Cass, Kai, Marcy, Addy, Ryan, Sam, Elliot, Logan, Lily, Jaxon, Dylan -Lasted like three chapters -I wrote it while I was figuring out what to do with the sequel -But Jaxon, Lily, and Dylan show up -Jaxon and Dylan were 12 and 11, and Lily was 13 (twins are still 14) -Lily was Leo's new romantic interest (this is why Leo is canonically bi) -Jaxon and Dylan were placeholder names -I can't remember whether Dylan was always deaf or not, I deleted the thing -Written in 2021

Draft 7- -Leo, Cass, Kai, Marcy, Addy, Ryan, Sam, Elliot, Logan, Lily, Dylan, Jaxon -A rewrite of draft 6, but meets the other kids + Logan -Leo overthrows the government with them

Draft 8- -Instead of going to jail, Leo meets them because she gets jumped in an alley by Jaxon and Logan makes him leave her alone -Her villain arc includes them now -Concept that Leo can't be burned because of her fire magic -The triplets are adopted by Kai's family, they get a larger role

Draft 9- -Logan is a little nicer now, he lets Leo stay with her, and does not like her family -He's got beef with seven-year-olds -Not many changes, I just wanted to write it again -The lab is introduced but I didn't really have any ideas for it -I posted this one

Draft 9's sequel- -Sort of like draft 6's sequel, wanted to try again -Characters with a villain arc in draft 9/the sequel: Leo, Jaxon, Lily, Dylan, Logan, Elliot, Cass, Ryan -Characters without a villain arc in draft 9/the sequel: Kai, Marcy, Sam, Addy -The earliest version of forget-me-not chapter 17 (Ryan gets pushed into a lake and nearly drowns) here it's he falls into a lake while the kids are trying to learn to water raft (in both versions, he's alone with Jaxon) -Elliot, the blind seven-year-old child, gets a villain arc -I remember this specifically because Leo has a line like "can't we just pick him up and put him somewhere else??" -I know for a fact that Dylan is deaf here -Because I still have this version -For some reason, Sam has a snake -Leo's afraid of snakes and Marcy is afraid of ducks -or something?? -Written June 2021

Draft 10- -The whole story is completely scrapped -Written in December 2021 -With six months between drafts nine and ten, I decided to redo a lot of plot stuff -Logan is aged up to eighteen, Dylan remains eleven, Jaxon remains twelve, and Lily is thirteen. The triplets are aged up to ten. The twins are fourteen still -Logan is aged up because he buys a house -Triplet's backstory is changed. Their names are briefly changed to Adrian, Emile, and Ethan -Logan's sister, Jasmine, is created for the first time, just to be immediately killed -One of the closest to canon -Part one is Leo, part two is Jaxon, part three is Elliot -Leo runs away after learning the truth about her parents (they're really her parents here) (whatever the truth is is not expanded on because I never got farther than an outline) and meets Jaxon, because they're both in the middle of robbing a gas station -Cass does not join Leo in meeting them -The first time it was set in 2018-2019 -The first time I allowed myself to use swears The outline since I have it (but it's the tldr version) 1- Leo is a drug dealer (?? girl-) 2- The twins fight, Addy gives Leo a clue about their parents (how does she know) (never expanded on) 3- The twin's birthday, Kai's POV, he's roped into the situation by Cass 4- Leo runs away, steals a car, and meets Jaxon while they're robbing a gas station 5- Jaxon and Leo officially meet, during a storm, Jaxon breaks into her hotel room because he's figured out that she's magic 6- Jaxon and Leo get a Subway sandwich, and Jaxon bullies Logan into letting Leo live with them 7- Lily and Leo set up Leo's room 8- Leo and Dylan go to the store, Dylan sees their parents + gets upset over it. Leo + Dylan bonding hours 9- Leo and Jaxon go to the lab 10- They meet Ryan and Sam. Sam's been poisoned, Ryan doesn't know the antidote. Since the twist is that Leo made the drugs used on them, she knows what to do. Jaxon gets Elliot 11- Logan lets the triplets live with them 12- Jaxon tries to set up Lily and Leo 13- The Christmas chapter (an actual line from the outline: "Leo doesn't respond because she's too gay and ice skating with her girlfriend") 14- A lot like forget me not where Elliot overhears that the twins are his sisters and he gets upset, but this time, since the twins are not related to them, he overhears that Leo made the drugs used on him 15- Jaxon's backstory. No elaboration in the outline I was just supposed to hope for the best 16- Ryan is only now learning sign language for Dylan, Lily talks to Elliot with throwing knives, Logan + Sam bonding hours 17- Another version- ironically chapter seventeen- where Jaxon is the only one around when Ryan gets pushed into a lake. This time he lands himself in the hospital for trying to save him because he can't swim 18- The kids find out that Jax is brain damaged 19- Logan convinces Leo to text Cass (she has not talked to Cass since chapter two) 20- The kids go to Maine for a week. Cass, Kai, Marcy, and Addy are all really weirded out by Leo's character development which is honestly really fair 21- Elliot + Cass talk hours 22- The kids go to a carnival 23- Sam apologizes for What He Did (not elaborated on) and Elliot goes bonkers mode 24- Elliot meets "Lucas" who tells him that Lily can help 25- Lily Knows Something (not elaborated on) that apparently has to do with their mother's death for some reason. Not a clue how Lily should know, she's about as detached from their backstory as one could get 26- I had only written "figure it out from here" and since forget me not is based on this outline (with a lot of changes) it's probably the reason I forgot to make a canon outline for chapter 26 27- Triplet backstory 28- Ryan sees Elliot talking to himself in the mirror 29- Elliot learns to use his magic properly 30- The triplets fight 31- Elliot dies

Draft 11- -Final canon forget-me-not -Written about a year ago (I know this because I made the outline a day before my last day of school to see if I could finish by the end of summer) (I could not) -I cut Addy out because I didn't like her -Logan was aged to 22, the twins to 16, Kai and Lily to 15, Jaxon to 14, Dylan remained 11, and the triplets remained 10 -I struggled for a while before outlining to come up with a title, it was going to be different nursery rhymes, and then different songs, and then random synonyms for fire, before I decided I liked flowers -So each character was given a flower -Instead of coming up with names for titles, I attached dates so that I could stress myself out with a timeline 👍

Sophia awoke to daylight, though she didn’t remember when she drifted off. Her bones ached as she peeled out of the bed and shuffled over to the bathroom, dull pain shooting through her with each step. In the mirror, she discovered the source—a brand-new array of colorful bruises from her tumble down the stairs, along with two finger-shaped burns along her jawline where [REDACTED] had touched her. It was like being a Guardian all over again—except with all the parts she didn't miss.

2. AA - HARLEY

“That’s the spirit!” Harley grinned and shoved open her door. “I hope you like slapjack. Ahren’s terrible, and since Mom’s still not here, I might actually win.” "I've never played." Jade picked up the can of spray paint from the backseat and gave it a playful rattle. "Though I have been told that I am a beast at cribbage." Harley laughed. She'd played cribbage with Jade enough times to know that she'd never stand a chance.

“What’s the matter, love?” The magician curled her fingers over the coin and rose from her seat. “Tongue-tied?” Cece tightened her grip on the neck of the cider bottle as she took a step toward her. With a guttural scream, she swung the bottle overhead, gasping as the magician caught the bottle deftly in one hand. In a swift motion, she wrenched the bottle out of Cece's hand, popped off the cork, and took a swig. Cece groaned. "Oh, fuck me." "Come, now." The magician lowered the bottle from her lips. "I thought we were friends."

4. EDITED EMBR of the Earth

Tana made her way to the back of the room, stepping around tables and equipment with care. Her bot waited for her in the first receptacle, just as she'd requested. She reached inside and lifted it out, cradling it gently in her hands. A tingle ran through her fingertips at the touch of its cold metal carapace. The drone itself was round and no larger than a brick. Tana checked its fans and motors for signs of damage, but they appeared to be in the same pristine condition they'd been in when the bot left. "Hey, you." She held the bot close to her chest as she carried it over to the centrifuge machine. "You better have something good for me."

5. TOS: Chapter Outline

Leonidas and his band of mercenaries camp out near the shore of Lake Leto. They have captured the Witch of Velon, a young but powerful magical user who has recently been gaining notoriety. After realizing she can still use basic magic despite being neutralized, Leonidas confronts her and questions her about the whereabouts of the lost god Sofengari. Even though she refuses to cooperate, they are interrupted by villagers retreating from a burning town, and are then captured by the town guard after they assume the mercenaries are the cause of the damage.

Grand Theft Auto VI

Grand Theft Auto VI is an upcoming action-adventure game in development by Rockstar Games. It is due to be the eighth main Grand Theft Auto game, following Grand Theft Auto V (2013), and the sixteenth entry overall. Set within the fictional open world state of Leonida (based on Florida) and its Miami-inspired Vice City, the story is expected to follow criminal duo Lucia and her male partner.[a]

Following years of speculation and anticipation, Rockstar confirmed in February 2022 that the game was in development. That September, footage from unfinished versions was leaked online in what journalists described as one of the biggest leaks in the history of the video game industry. The game was formally revealed in December 2023 and is scheduled to be released in 2025 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Setting and characters

Grand Theft Auto VI is an action-adventure game set in the fictional open world state of Leonida—based on Florida—which includes Vice City, a fictional version of Miami.[1][2][3] Vice City was previously featured in Grand Theft Auto (1997) and as the main setting of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002) and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (2006).[4][5][6] The game world parodies contemporary American culture, with satirical depictions of social media and influencer culture, and references to Internet memes such as the Florida Man.[7][8][9] The story follows a criminal duo: Lucia, the series' first female protagonist since 2000,[b] and her male partner;[a] the first trailer depicts Lucia as a prison inmate, and later evading custody with her partner.[2][16]

Development

Following Grand Theft Auto V's 2013 release, Rockstar North's then-president Leslie Benzies said the company had "some ideas" for the series' next entry.[17] In 2018, The Know reported the game, code-named Project Americas, would be set primarily in Vice City and partly in South America with a female protagonist.[18] In 2020, journalist Jason Schreier reported the game was "early in development" as "a moderately sized release" that would expand over time, to avoid its predecessors' developer crunch.[19] In 2021, Tom Henderson claimed the game's map could evolve akin to Fortnite Battle Royale.[20][21] In 2022, Schreier reported the game entered development in 2014 and would feature two Bonnie and Clyde-inspired protagonists, including a Latina woman, and claimed the developers were cautiously subverting the series' trend of joking about marginalised groups.[22][23]

The game became highly anticipated in the years before its announcement,[24][25][26] and journalists noted some fans became frustrated by Rockstar Games's continued silence, particularly after they announced a re-release of Grand Theft Auto V in 2020.[27][28][29] An individual referencing the game received media attention for interrupting several live stage and television shows.[30][31][32] On 4 February 2022, Rockstar confirmed development was "well underway".[33] In July, Rockstar announced Red Dead Online would not receive more major updates as development resources were withdrawn to focus on the upcoming game;[34] industry sources stated Rockstar reallocated resources after planned remasters of Grand Theft Auto IV (2008) and Red Dead Redemption (2010) were paused due to the backlash received by Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition (2021).[35]

In November 2023, Rockstar president Sam Houser announced the first trailer would release in early December to celebrate the company's 25th anniversary.[36][37] Within five hours, the announcement on X surpassed two previous posts about the game to become the platform's most-liked gaming-related post,[38][39][40] later surpassed by Rockstar's post announcing the trailer's 5 December release date, with 1.8 million likes in 24 hours.[41] Other developers imitated the announcement's formatting to promote their trailers.[42][43][15] On 4 December, a low-quality version of the trailer was leaked on X; in response, Rockstar published the official version on YouTube, revealing the title, protagonists, setting, and release window of 2025 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.[44][45][46] No Windows version was announced.[46][47] The trailer broke the record for most first-day views on a non-music YouTube video within 12 hours, with 46 million,[48][49] became the third-most overall within 24 hours with 93 million,[50][51][52] and surpassed the lifetime viewership of Grand Theft Auto V's 2011 reveal trailer within two days with 101 million.[53] Its featured song, Tom Petty's "Love Is a Long Road", saw a near-37,000% increase in Spotify streams, had almost 250,000 searches on Shazam, and ranked second on the worldwide iTunes chart.[54]

September 2022 leak

On 18 September 2022, a user known as "teapotuberhacker"[c] published 90 videos to GTAForums showing 50 minutes of work-in-progress game footage.[57] Schreier confirmed with sources at Rockstar that the footage was genuine,[58] and The Guardian reported it was from several stages of development,[57] with some videos about a year old.[4] The footage revealed a modern-day Vice City setting, contained animation and gameplay tests, level layouts, and character conversations, and depicted player characters Lucia and Jason entering a strip club and robbing a diner.[4][14] The hacker claimed to be behind the Uber security breach from the earlier week.[58][59] They said they downloaded the files directly from Rockstar's internal Slack groups,[60] and claimed to possess source code, assets, and internal builds of Grand Theft Auto V and VI, which they threatened to publish.[58]

Rockstar's parent company Take-Two Interactive responded by submitting takedowns of videos showing or discussing the leaks hosted on YouTube,[57][61] and contacted GTAForums and Reddit moderators to remove access.[62] The hacker wrote they were "looking to negotiate a deal" with Rockstar or Take-Two.[63] Journalists described the event as one of the biggest leaks in video game history;[64][65][66] Schreier called it "a nightmare for Rockstar Games" which could limit employees' remote work flexibility.[67][68] Jefferies analyst Andrew Uerkwitz called it a "PR disaster" that could potentially delay the game and diminish staff morale, but was unlikely to impact reception or sales.[69][70] The Guardian noted the leaked footage was being widely criticised "by ill-informed users" due to its quality, despite not being representative of the final product.[57] Some users erroneously claimed graphics and art assets are finalised early in game development. In solidarity, several developers shared work-in-progress footage of their games[71][72][73] and some, including Cliff Bleszinski, Neil Druckmann, Rami Ismail, and Alanah Pearce, offered sympathies to Rockstar.[4][57][74]

On 19 September, Rockstar confirmed the leak to be a "network intrusion" and lamented how the game was first demonstrated but did not anticipate long-term effects on development.[75] They disabled comments and replies on their social media accounts in the days following the leak.[56] Take-Two added that steps had been taken "to isolate and contain this incident".[69] Take-Two's share price dropped by more than six per cent in pre-market trading that day,[69][70] but recovered during regular trading hours following their statement.[76] Uber acknowledged the potential links to their security breach and noted they were working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Department of Justice. They believed the hacker was affiliated with the group Lapsus$, which was thought to have breached companies such as Microsoft, Nvidia, and Samsung over the preceding year.[77][78] Zelnick said no material assets appeared to have been taken and the incident caused the companies to become more vigilant with cybersecurity.[79] He later reiterated the leak had impacted staff emotionally but business remained unaffected.[80]

A 17-year-old boy from Oxfordshire—claimed to be "teapotuberhacker"—was arrested by City of London Police on 22 September as part of an investigation supported by the National Cyber Crime Unit and American federal law enforcement.[81][82][83] The suspect is a key member of Lapsus$ who was previously arrested under suspicion of hacking several other companies.[77][84][85] Appearing before the Highbury Corner Youth Court, he pleaded guilty to two counts of breach of bail conditions and not guilty to two counts of computer misuse.[84][86][87] The case was referred to a higher court while the boy was remanded to a youth detention centre.[87][83] In mid-2023, he stood trial at Southwark Crown Court for twelve offences, including six counts of computer misuse, three of blackmail, and two of fraud.[85][88] Prosecutors alleged he threatened to release the source code in a message to all Rockstar staff on Slack and had targeted other companies like BT Group, Nvidia, Revolut, and Uber.[88][89][90] He was deemed unfit to stand trial; instead of assessing his guilt, a jury determined he had committed the acts, and he was set to be sentenced by a judge.[85][91]

Just a couple of miles away from the insertion point, Brumels very own Atelier Agents and Paladins with some outside help. Were inside the assigned gunship as it flew from the Battleship towards the island. Inside Zek, Eros, and Leonidas had their eyes closed as a means of prayer towards themselves and a way to get themselves in a state of focus before the fight.

Guangxian, Hermes, and Krieg were already beginning to think to themselves and focusing on other things. For Hermes it was to prove that he was the "Honored One" with his Dark and recently regained Light Magic, for Guangxian it was to see what other secrets the Solitas Liberation PMC was hiding, and for Krieg it was to see if they had a Fusion Generator which he could somehow disable before it was too late.

Down on the Island an enemy would spot the incoming gunship as the enemy anti-air weapons ranging from SAM's to artillery cannons aimed and fired at the gunship causing some turbulence in the air. Which woke Leonidas, Eros, and Zek up putting them into their respective combat states immediately.

"Ah bloody hell! Already! Pilot how bad is that turbulence?!" Eros asked. "Kind a little sticky! But the landing zone is still good!!! But if any- Oh shit!! MT's are scrambling out now!!" The Pilot responded seeing the enemy mechs heading out.

"Damn! Alright Ace! We need our LZ secured!" Eros would say on his commmunicator putting his helmet on.

"I'm on it boss-man!" Ace said with the Liberation flying past the gunship everyone else was on which he would press a few buttons on the console to activate his mechs arm cannon mode firing a few shots at the incoming MT's and enemy artillery blowing them to pieces, with the Liberation landing and boosting towards any enemy opponents to deal with them.

"LZ secured! You boys are cleared to land!!! Get it done! I'll deal with the incoming reinforcements!!!!" Ace would say over the Liberation's speakers.

"Thats a hard copy, Ace! Good luck!" Eros said holding both twin blaster pistols in his hands standing up with Zek,Leonidas, Hermes, and Krieg all prepared themselves as the Gunship descended onto the snowy beach awaiting to hear the words green light as there was nothing more but a red light.... before finally.

The red light changed to green with the doors opening.

"GO! GO! GO! GET OFF THE GUNSHIP!!!!" Eros shouted with everyone getting off and to be welcomed into a haze of gunfire while Eros, Zek, Leonidas, and Guangxian shot back at the enemy while the gunship departed.

Adelisa de Launcet (me!) - An Orlesian noble who got sent to Ferelden by her abuser specifically to hurt Adelisa. And then while there she lets go of a lot of asshole behaviour, starts working to unlearn all her prejudices, realises she loves Ferelden and doesn’t want to be anywhere else, and gains self-confidence in her abilities of being really Really good at diplomacy.

Sam Leonidas (you!) - A Tevinter altus who had terrible, terrible parents and ran away from Tevinter after stopping his asshole brother from killing his non-asshole brother’s elven girlfriend. He’s an excellent healer and a good good boy and can also turn into a cat it’s very good.

Valeria Agnelli - An Antivan pirate who turned up in Ferelden with amnesia, and slowly remembered she’s the daughter of a merchant prince and a commoner who ran away because she stopped a bunch of merchant princes destroying the Felicisima Armada and now the Crows are after her. She’s a badass who cut her own arm off one time.

Astaarit - A former saarebas who escaped the Qun and is now trying to set up the Qun 2, this time we have names and good porn and don’t sew people’s lips shut. This is not going to end well. They’re the punchiest muscle mage and also an asshole who’s taking advantage of their boyfriend for money but I love them anyway.

Wanda Kovic - Valeria’s wife!! They got married last session it was very good!!! A good good Ferelden girl who loves her family but also wants to go on exciting adventures and punch anyone who hurts Valeria or her family.

Landen - The most amazing person you could ever meet. Also, a city elf who started an elven rebellion and feels like he should be fighting every injustice in the world and everything is hard but he’s just doing his best. He has a habit of getting really amazing rolls and he and Wanda once beat up a super tough assassin in like two rounds before any of the pcs could get there.
