so. never consumed any mcu content whatsoever. however i have recently stumbled upon peter parker/harley keener fanfics, went down a rabbit hole, and am now obsessed with their dynamic and i realized i have just fallen into the trap of another blond + southerner + sarcastic + calls-his-boyfriend-darlin’ + infinitely supportive + big fucking nerd x incredibly traumatized + sarcastic + italian + orphan + definitely-started-saving-the-world-too-young + big fucking nerd ship. i am nothing if not predictable

Steve: *nervously* aww, thanks Sam! You didn't have to do that

Sam: what kind of friend would I be if I didn't get my best friend a damn card on his birthday?

Steve: haha, yeah... thanks!

Sam: What did you get Steve then, barnes?

Bucky: I didn't get Steve a Birthday card

Sam: Why not? I thought he was your best friend?

Bucky: I made a habit of only buying friends Birthday cards when it's their Birthday

Sam: but it is Steves Birthday... it's the 4th July Buck! Don't tell me you forgot your best friends Birthday?

Steve: *trying to hint to Buck to go with it and shut up* yeah, Buck! What do you mean it's not my Birthday!? 4th of July is my Birthday!

Bucky: No it's not. Some guy asked you when your Birthday was when you were in costume and you panicked and said 4th July-

Steve: *tackles Buck* NO! MY BIRTHDAY IS 4TH JULY! YOU JUST FORGOT AND I FORFIVE YOU FOR THAT!

Sam: You lied!? Wait! When is his actual Birthday?

Bucky: *wrestling Steve off of him* It's the-

Steve: *body throws Buck through a wall between the corridor and Tony's personal lab*

Tony: His Birthday is the 14th November.

Steve: *panics*

Sam: How the hell would you know!?

Tony: My dad remembered his more than he remembered mine

This is for the @sambuckylibrary's TFATWS Anniversary Event 2024's prompt "Divorce Arc" Keep reading has the description of the gifs.

"Sam Finds the Note"

Sam stands on The Paul & Darlene as he holds Bucky's goodbye note, which reads:

"I'm sorry, Sam. I have to join them to protect you all. - Bucky"

The dialogue goes:

Sarah: Please come back with me to the house, Sam.

Sam: I'll meet you at the truck in a second, Sarah.

Sarah: ...Okay, I'll be in the car.

Sam: ...

Sam: Bastard...

Sam: We could have fought this together.

Sam: If you believed in me...

Sam: If you believed in us...

Sarah: ...Sam?

Sarah: ...Sam?

Sam: I'm coming.

Sarah: Okay, Sam.

"Bucky Has Regrets"

Bucky holds his head in his hands on a plane as the net behind him sways.

The dialogue goes:

Bucky: I'm such an idiot.

Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine (Val): Stop complaining, Sergeant.

Val: A few missions and I'll let you go back to playing house with the new Captain America...

Val: ...for a day before I bring you back in.

Bucky: I should have listened to Sam.

Val: And, what? Let me seize The Paul & Darlene? Bring Sam in for vigilantism? I would have.

Val's phone rings, rings, rings.

Bucky: Why did I only leave a note?

Val: Get a grip before we land, Sergeant.

Val: I don't have time for this - Val speaking. What's up?

Val walks away and her heels clack, clack, clack away.

Bucky: Sam was right.

Yelena: Probably. But you're here now, Barnes.

Bucky: I should have stayed. Fought this.

Yelena: She threatened your family.

Bucky: Yelena, Sam's never going to forgive me.

Yelena: Maybe he'll be so mad that he'll find us and save us to give you a piece of his mind.

Bucky: Why did I panic and agree to this?

Yelena: Because you're an idiot like you said.

Bucky: I'm so sorry, Sam...

The lack of official bucky barnes merch in this world is appalling and I take it as a personal offence

My personal headcanon is that Bucky is a dramatic person after he gets to know you and feels comfortable with you.

After he manages to get up the courage to ask Sam to marry him, he starts proposing any time he feels overwhelmed by how much he loves Sam. And be loves him a lot, so that ends up being pretty frequently. He'll just drop to his knees in their kitchen, on the docks in Delacroix, in the ice cream aisle at the grocery store, etc, to ask Sam to marry him. At first, it's sweet but it quickly gets annoying, especially after they've already gotten married. But Sam never says no even if he really wants Bucky to get up off the damn floor in the middle of this fucking coffee shop. (Bucky is aware that it's annoying to Sam some times but he's very committed to the bit lol)

Yes to all this, except I know Sam is 100% into it. It becomes their thing, Bucky casually and randomly getting on one knee and asking his husband to marry him, again and again. Somehow it never gets old, Sam’s heart skips every time, looking down at Bucky’s soft smile and whatever random object he’s using to propose this time (it ranges from Sam’s favourite cereal to a pretty rock Bucky found to a keychain that reminded him of Sam). The answer is obviously always yes, Sam would marry him a hundred times over.

She ends up being pregnant and once the kid is a bit older they go to New York and run into Bucky, Steve, and Sam ? At the museum. Bucky didn’t know about the kid. In a world of sword fights and spellcasting, Sam joins Steve and Natasha on a quest to break a curse that's been placed on Bucky. Alliances are made, secrets are revealed, and at least one person gets threatened by a giant falcon.

Sam only sees it because Redwing does, flying up over the treetops and scouting for danger ahead. It comes in snippets first, then clearer as Redwing gets closer: clashing steel and the light and smoke of magic being cast, then commands shouted in the voice of a superior, the language indistinct over the sounds of battle. 

“How many are there? Is it bandits?” Sam asks, and only belatedly remembers that he doesn’t need to actually speak the words for Redwing to hear them.

‘Sire,’ comes Redwing’s voice in his mind, graver than it was a moment ago, ‘these are no common criminals.’

The smoke from the spells is still too thick for Redwing to see who’s involved, apparently, but there are wagons nearby where the attackers must have awaited their targets. He doesn’t need to say anything to Sam as he swoops down past a wagon, the image stamped onto the wheels coming through perfectly clear: a many-headed beast, entwined around a stylized skull. Inside the biggest wagon is a cage much too large for any kind of animal, but perfectly sized for a person.

Sam takes off at a run.

Guys PLEASE help me find a fic, I’m worried it might have been deleted, but I wanna know if maybe I’m just using the wrong tags

It’s a Sam/Bucky fic on AO3. The plot is Bucky is a traumatized war vet (no power au) and Steve (he has some memory loss and is dating Natasha) convince him to go to the VA where he runs into Sam. He attends a place lead by Rhodey and becomes friends with Nebula and Clint. Towards the end of the fic Sam gets upset because he gets reminded of Riley and Bucky goes to his house and that’s when they start dating

I remember so much of this fic and I love it, probably one of my favorite Sam/Bucky fics, but I cannot find it anywhere. I’m hoping that I’m just using the wrong tags but I’m so scared that maybe it’s gone forever…

Can you guys help me try to find it? Even if you remember the title or author?
