Hi, I don’t have a working camera. Great start, I know. I noticed a spider in my bathtub today and I caught my attention because I’ve never seen anything like it in my home before. I know spider I.D.ing is a long shot, and maybe I’ll be able to get a picture of it later (it is… deceased now). But would you have any idea what kind of spider would be red, skinny legs that are red for half of the leg with little black shoes? Not a bulbous body. The back half of the main body was darker than the front. I live in northwest Illinois. It was thin and quite cute but I’ve just never seen a spider that isn’t, essentially, brown or black. It’s little black feetsies really stuck out to me.
Yeah definitely hard without a photo because there are a surprising amount of spiders with the coloring you described.
A dwarf spider like this is possible? Females tend to have a bulbous body, but makes don't as much, or it could have been a very hungry female I suppose.
Or there are some spiders in the genus Castianeira that could possibly be similar to what you described.
You could also try scrolling through photos here of species in your area and see if anything looks similar.
But even a photo of a dead spider is more helpful than none at all if you ever got one.

garbage disposal is for breaking up food. the idea is you throw food waste in the sink and then it doesn't sit in your garbage and rot/stink, you can just wash it down the drain. its convenient esp when you're rinsing dishes because you dont have to scrape food off into the trash you can just throw it all in the sink and carry on. they DO make scary noises but god moving into apartments w/o one has made me miss them so much i hate throwing food in the trash.
Tumblr media
Oh! You know, this sounds super convenient now that you’ve broken it down like that?! Over here we empty our kitchen trash bin every day! Well, maybe that’s a “my family” thing rather than a “every person in Brazil” thing because my cats CAN and WILL steal chicken bones from the trash if we let it sit there
Now I’m wondering why garbage disposals aren’t more widespread worldwide…

salvia-plathitudes replied to your post: How are you guys doing? Earlier I was going crazy...
My boyfriend‘s mom woke up to her garage totaled by a drunk driver! But we cleaned up and the car is charged and I’ve been really enjoying overly safe driving. I got to have her kids as my passengers and I played scrabble with my boyfriend:)
D: good to know everyone’s alright!

@suz-blog Okay this is drifting from "some people fetishize books in the way that detracts from the experience of reading, like valuing the container rather than whatever is inside", to "if you're really interested in reading and mental health you would just get rid of all the clutter and use eBooks instead".
Physical media is an experience all its own. For some people, the smell of ink and feel of the page between your fingers is part and parcel of it. We are as a society increasingly starved of the tactile sensations that used to ground us; from clunky buttons and dials on electronics, to different textures of paper, to the touch of another person's hands. @salvia-plathitudes said they understand the value of physical ownership. That also means that we can pass on the things we used and caressed and loved to our friends and children. Half the draw of a secondhand bookstore or library is being in a space crammed full of things that bear the imprint of thousands of faceless humans across time and space that we connect to every time we open a book.
For some people, a wide and open space is as suffocating as one crammed to the gills can be for others. For the former, being surrounded by physical objects, even those they won't use or reuse, is its own comfort. "Hoarding" (a word used in a very ableist and classist way in current parlance) is actually a value negative act, as long as you're not depriving another person of an essential resource or endangering yourself. For people who have grown up suffering poverty and scarcity, surrounding themselves in things they won't use or refusing to give any of their belongings away is a coping mechanism and comfort. If it isn't hurting them and it makes them feel safe, then that is the utility of those objects, even though it isn't what they were made for. That is the problem with minimalism – making a moral value out of austerity by people who can afford to get rid of their belongings because they will never lack for others. It pretends to be utilitarian and more ethical (with a dash of faux-Buddhist "non-attachment", because Orientalism is the spice of the lifestyle cult), when it's simply the same patterns of consumption with less visual clutter. And there's nothing wrong with visual clutter, anymore than there is with vibrant colours and busy designs and food steeped in spice.
So no. People who love reading won't necessarily want to conserve space by using another walled cyber garden device from Amazon. And data hoarding is still hoarding, which is, like I said, perfectly fine. None of this has anything to do with the KonMari method, but if this is where the conversations y'all were having about it ended up, the backlash starts to make a little more sense.

Thanks! Well, he lives in Russia, and Spotify doesn’t work there. Sadly.

Happy birthday! What’s an early memory you’ve had of birds?
I think my earliest memories of birds were when I lived in Hawaii. We lived on Hickam Airforce Base until I was 9 and there were constantly baby birds that fell out of nests while fledging or were knocked out by stray cats. Most of them never made it, but we had one Mynah bird that actually made it to adulthood (Which is kinda bad since they’re invasive, but I was four and determined to save them all).
Well, Mynah birds are really smart and this bird could recognize me from a distance. I distinctly remember one day I was at my neighbor’s playing with my friend when it settled on the crook of a tree in the front yard. I took that as my time to go home and while I’m walking down the sidewalk the bird was happily hopping behind me waiting to be fed.

If you’ll take another request, I think there’s a scene during the initial graveyard fight where Dean leaps and kicks down a zombie with both of his feet, and then lands again. Can you please confirm if I just made that up in the chaos? It’s so dark though
hi! i think i found the sequence you were looking for! i hope this is what you were referring to: [x]
you were right...it’s pretty dark, so i hope i made it bright enough for u to see dean dropkick that zombie-ghost thingie ^^;

@salvia-plathitudes he did push the other guy. People on reddit criticize him for that.
Everyone who lost definitely felt disappointed, but they seemed like they genuinely enjoyed the competition. They showed fair play and cheared for the other contestants. Miracle stood out there because not only did he shove that guy, but he was the only one visibly sulking.
But I don't think he's like the worst guy there. He's jusr competitive. And it looked uncool. Nothing more.
Other contestants when they got eliminated: "well I did my best. Maybe the real physical 100 was the friends we made along the way.😄 let's go, my teammates!"
Miracle in the corner alone:

The way you did your eyeshadow… wow
Why thank you. Truly, it is a testament to the product itself, which, to my joy, seduced me with a rather appropriate name.
